Today's biggest winners and losers in the stock market.
On this episode of Stock Movers:
• General Motors Co. (GM) shares fell as shareholders focused on a narrower profit outlook despite plans for another $20 billion in stock repurchases. GM's board approved the new round of buybacks, which will be funded on an ongoing basis over a multi-year period of time, adding to the $29.5 billion already spent by the company buying back its shares since 2023.
• GE Aerospace (GE) shares drop as much as 5.5%, the most intraday since July 16, after higher full-year profit guidance from the jet-engine maker failed to impress investors. Though the outlook for adjusted earnings per share topped analyst estimates, it implied that the fourth quarter will come in below their expectations.
• Hasbro (HAS) stock is surging nearly 10% Tuesday afternoon, driven by sales of Magic: The Gathering, as well as hiked full-year revenue growth expectations. The company has diversified beyond physical toys into digital games, creating a cushion as lingering tariffs and surging fuel prices drive up toy prices and pressure toymakers' margins.

The Stock Movers Report. Your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market. Harnessing the power of Bloomberg data.
I am Alexis Christophers along with Nora Melinda. There are lots of stocks on the move. We want to get to that now with Bloomberg News reporter Emily Grafeo here in studio with us. Where do we begin? You brought us GM. I know the stock is under some pressure here today. Out with earnings this morning. What's the big takeaway?
Yeah. So GM, the ticker, uh, is GM and the name, of course, the full name, General Motors, everyone knows them, uh, by that abbreviation though, down about 10%, uh, right now, or actually down about 7% right now is down as much as 9.3% a little bit earlier in the day. I mean, they narrowed their adjusted guidance for the full year for 2027, uh, I think what also led to a lot of the selling was a little bit later on, on a conference call after their earnings, we had CEO Mary Barra saying there are clear external headwinds, and in some cases they are intensifying. So the company actually saw pretty good demand for its SUVs and its trucks, but this is against the backdrop of a strained consumer facing
rising fuel prices.
You know, I thought GM was faring better than a lot of its rivals, and now I guess... they're getting hit by the same headwinds, some of the same challenges that like a Ford was or a Stellantis.
Yeah. I mean, it might also just be a market where the bar is pretty high this earnings season. So, I mean, look, they're still expecting some positive results for the full year. They see adjusted EPS for 2027, $ 12. 75 to 13.75. But that was versus estimates of about $ 13. And they previously saw $ 12 to... So, I mean, just taking it back a little bit, but the stock is really getting punished today. Absolutely. And it's down about 6% on a year-to-date basis. But if you take a look at Wall Street, look at A & R Go on the terminal, and you'll see that about 82% of Wall Street still says to buy the stock. Uh, from there we go over to GE aerospace. You've also got your eyes there, right?
Yeah.
Okay. So this is like another, another industrial name starts with a G ticker G E, uh, general electric, but known as GE aerospace. It's down today, down about 3.5%. This is the aircraft engine supplier. Um, Their guidance implies fourth quarter profit below estimates, but they did raise their full year outlook. They're seeing strong aircraft engine demand, but it just seems to not impress investors in a market like today.
They also raised their prediction for free cash flow, I'm seeing. They expect 2027 commercial services to grow at low double digits. Is this just because the bar was so high for GE that they just couldn't pass it?
Yeah, I think so. You look at what JP Morgan had to say. They noted it was a smaller beat in the Q3 services that we believe the buy side had penciled in, but they said big picture, GE continues to perform very well and the guidance continues to increase.
And I guess the backdrop to all this is air travel. I mean, if we didn't see a boom in air travel, GE would be feeling it. So despite these higher fuel costs, the travel demand is there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let's get over to Hasbro. What's going on with the toy company?
I'm going to end on a positive note.
Oh, we like that.
We're going to end with a toy company and we're going to end with a stock that's at a record high today. This is Hasbro, ticker H-A-S. It's up about 10.7% right now. I think when we think of Hasbro, at least I think of like a like a toy, like a toy truck. Um, but actually a big part of their business is digital gaming.
Magic.
The gathering is a very popular game and they're seeing pretty strong results there. And, um, yeah, they beat on adjusted EPS for the third quarter and also for net revenue, 1.6 billion.
