#451 - Kyle Thompson // Hell’s Hydra: LGBTQ+ Activism

We start with the uncomfortable relief that we did not design ourselves, then connect that reality to why today’s fights over gender and sexuality are really fights over whether identity is received or constructed. We walk through Genesis and Romans to argue that worship and allegiance sit underneath desire, and that telling the truth can be an act of love.
• the claim that being made can feel humiliating or stabilizing

• Genesis 1:27 and the image of God expressed as male and female
• Genesis 2 and why one-flesh union is built into creation
• Romans 1 and the exchange of Creator for creature as the root issue
• the modern premise of self-made identity and the body as raw material
• why our goal is not winning arguments but knowing why the gospel is good news
