They had voter vote signs set up at my place and they were pointed the wrong way. And I was like, ah, there we go. Elon Musk got our ass. Look at that.

Starlink right there.

Thanks. Starlink. Turn these backwards. Thanks a lot. Starlink. I said, shaking my fist at the sky.

Whenever I'm in the sky or something, because, you know, I go there a lot, and there's no Wi-Fi, and it'll be sent by satellite. And I'm like, no, no, I don't want it sent by satellite. I'd rather have it not sent at all.

Yeah.

We use the satellites pretty frequently, Blair.

That's what I've heard every time I go, oh, my God, there's a UFO. And my brother goes, no, those are satellites. I'm like, what the hell are those doing up there? You know?

Yeah.

Also, I love your description of air travel. Whenever I'm up in the sky, when you said that, I was like, are you talking about like astral projection or something?

No, I swear to God, it is.

Flying on an aeroplane. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

You know, I'm always doing that.

What'd you sip in?

Oh, this? This, Miles? This is just a nice little Trader Joe's iced coffee with a dash of almond milk. I already had my powdered Celsius this morning before the gym.

What do you call that? You mean cocaine?

Yeah yeah yeah for sure i was yeah i was at a halloween party with that going around railing lines of powdered celsius if.

You can believe it my athlete ass never got on cocaine wow um yeah actually my brother told me yeah the sleepiest girl in the world literally my brother told me um rest in peace when i was um 14 or 15 that um He had three rules for me. And that was don't be a bad driver. Always let people in front of you in the lane. Don't put anything up your nose and don't sleep with too many people.

Wow.

So I slept with that.

What's too many?

Well, it was less sex positive back then. And you can imagine an older, no older brother is sex positive.

I do also like that he left it. I like that he left it vague. So like too many is like, yeah, you know, I have the beholder.

I honestly think I did go the other way. Um, and that probably they would prefer, I would let a few more people in, but you know, it is what it is. I'm really busy, you know?

It's like, no, I didn't mean that much.

Yeah, yeah.

I didn't mean to bug that few people.

They were like, my family was like, sorry we said so much when you were young. Like, anyone would be fine.

You know? Hello, the internet, and welcome to season 463, episode 3 of Dirty Lee's Ice Guys! Yeah! This is a production of iHeartRadio. It's a podcast where we take a deep dive into America's shared consciousness frequently through the day's news. We have a new non-news history version of the Daily Zeitgeist also that drops on Monday mornings. It's called the Iconograph. We do a deep dive into the Zeitgeist through the lens of different icons. And on this past Monday, we did Yoko Ono, our first non-spooky icon in a little while. We had a Whole month of spookiness that probably scared a lot of people off. Probably way fewer listeners now. Too fucking scary, dude. That shit was too, too much. We went too hard. But anyways,

Yoko Ono, probably the most I learned, the most wrong I was about Nikon. So go check that one out. Yeah, yeah. Great one. Great one. A lot of Beatles talk. A lot of Beatles slander. I can't wait for the Beatles defenders to come out. Oh, yeah. They're coming. They're coming for your ass. It is.

I like the Beatles. Sorry.

Yeah, not saying you don't like them. It's more just, like, in this episode, we really understand, like, the whole Yoko Ono broke up the Beatles is just so far off.

Oh. Yoko Ono broke up.

Okay, well, I have to listen, like, as soon as we conclude because I'm under that impression as well.

Oh, yeah, definitely. Yeah, yeah, check it out.

Sorry I accidentally spoke before I was introduced. I'll be quiet now.

You are totally allowed to do that. That's actually one of the privileges that we grant the faces on. I was like... And also anybody who wants to do it, to be honest. Of course. But it is Wednesday, November 4th, 2026. We are recording this on Tuesday, November 3rd. So we don't know.

We don't know what's going on. Hard to know, but look, it's National Candy Day. So there's that.

I love candy. I'm a candy freak.

Perfect.

Then this is your fucking day. It's also Roast Dinner Day.

Aren't they like five days behind? Shouldn't October 31st be National Candy Day? Or is this like a day to sit back, look at your haul, and just appreciate and think about candy?

Jack, you know we're a wayward country where up is down and down is up?

Right. The furthest day, like one of the furthest days from Halloween, we name National Candy Day. Okay.

I think it's probably good just because it's had its shine and then a few days later, we're like, hey man, candy?

You know what I'm not in the mood for right now? Candy? No. I will tell you that.

Not even hot tamales, Jack? Are you serious?

Not even fucking hot tamales.

Is that your shit, Blair?

Hot tamales?

Yeah, that's one of my rogue interests, even though I lean heavily sour gummies. But you could tell that by looking at me.

Yeah, I knew. Yeah, we knew. The second you got that perm, I knew. I knew.

I'm a freaking sour candy freak. I can't even stop.

Look at her hair got all curly. Blair didn't even get a perm. She just ate candy that was so sour. So true, Jack. That's medically true.

Medically true.

All right. My name is Jack O'Brien, a.k.a. I won't ring your bell. Won't ring your bell. I'm scared to do scared. That one courtesy of First Blood 522 in reference to the fact that I would pretend to ding-dong ditch houses when I was a child due to peer pressure, but also because I didn't want to scare anybody and because I was a coward. Also scared. Yeah.

You mean you didn't want to scare yourself?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, go, go, go, go, go. There's the doorbell. He just went. Just went right to the side. Oh, yep. Rung it. Everybody go. Everybody run. I heard them moving around in there. It's going to blow. They're going to be so mad at us. Oh, man.

That's like when I was a little kid and someone would order shots for the table and I would see my dad throw it over his shoulder. And I was like, what?

Yeah, yeah.

Like in a restaurant, just eject the alcohol like that in the middle of the room?

Or maybe, I don't know, like just pretend to take the shot. And then I'd be like, hey, you didn't take it. And he'd be like, shh, shh.

Shut the fuck up. Are you the cops, fool?

Shut up. I just love it better. Your dad has a shot, just empties it over your shoulder. It's like a certain like, hey, what the fuck?

I don't know.

If it was emptied, but it was a fake. It was a fake take.

Right, right, right.

Like Jack's fake ding dong ditch.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well. I'm thrilled to be joined, as always, by my co-host, Mr. Miles Gray. It's Miles Gray, a.k.a. Yoplait, Yoplait, Yoplait, Yoplait. I swear you can eat it as a grown man.

Shout out to Emrys on the Discord for that one. Yes, the Yoplait defenses continue. Thank you for being on my side. Yoplait is not for children. Adults can eat Yoplait, too.

Sorry. That's me, in a nutshell. Yeah.

I'm interested to hear from our guest.

I'm not a fan of yogurt. I haven't been introduced. So yeah.

Okay. So we don't even know who that is. But you were just talking before. In our third seat, a TDZ Hall of Famer, one of the very faces on Mount Zeitmore, a brilliant standup comedian who, you know, from MTV, Comedy Central, NBC, True TV, E! You've heard her on Bob's Burgers. You can see her in her hilarious special live from the big dog in the upcoming feature film, How to Date Again. And on her podcast, Spaced out with Blair Saki because it's Blair Saki! Blair!

Oh, what's up, Psygang?

What up, what up, what up?

Psygang! It's your boy, Blair Blizzy, back in the hizzah! guys that is the first time ever in my many appearances on this show that i have spoken before the intro and i know it is my autism but it felt very like i did something very wrong and i know you have reassured me many times that it was wrong but it still feels like i have really done something out of order.

You know what we're gonna do next time we're gonna invite you to speak so it doesn't feel like You're speaking.

How about it? Will that help? It does help.

And can I just say, like, I was so looking forward to seeing you guys today. Just to be really sincere pathologically for one second is I really do feel that you are two really good men in the world that I always look to as examples of people with good souls that are men also. What the fuck?

Are you going to make me cry?

I fucking will. Don't think I won't. And also, you know, this is like such a crazy day. So I'm glad to be spending it with you guys.

We're so glad to have you spending it with us. The feeling is mutual. I see you. as one of the purest hearts out there, too. Of men. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of men, yeah. I view you as one of the kindest men. Kindest man I've ever met. I'm told once again that you're not a man. And I'm like, oh, okay. If you say so. It's confusing. The big dog thing threw me off. Okay.

I know.

This makes sense now. It is a funny day. It's an interesting day. Hope everybody's out there voting. This is dropping the day after the election, so people are going to be dealing with election results, good or bad, as they're listening to this.

Yeah.

But consider this a little respite, a little chance to hang with your friends and... Who are in a bubble where we don't know. We don't know. We're the people in the sound deprivation booths in the 80s game show. You remember those? Where they would just stick someone over there. With headphones. Have them make an actively oblivious face for 30 seconds. I don't know. I don't know what's happening.

I can't hear anything. That's us right here, right now. Blair, we are thrilled to have you here. We're going to get to know you a little bit better in one moment. But first, we're going to tell the listeners a couple of things we're talking about. We're going to talk about this movement to dox the oligarchs.

Yeah.

Capitistas. Capitistas. It's a cute name, too. We're going to talk about them. We're going to talk about that Learjet crash and the conspiracy theories around it, because they are... They're out here. A lot of people have a lot of.

Just conspiracy theories, but yeah, it's, it's just like a tragic fucking story.

And that picture is haunting.

Of it crashing or the family that was on board.

Yeah. Even that one. I'm like, Oh my God, the guy just fucking, no, I didn't see it.

No, I didn't see that.

Yeah.

And then everyone's like, yeah, you know, it's probably all this other stuff. It's like, can we just, God damn. I don't just let it be rather than like trying to blame the 20 year old woman for Right.

For the co-pilot. Oh, yeah, yeah. That was the co-pilot.

Ridiculous.

Yeah. We're going to, of course, talk about Liberty Bibberty because the backlash is here for Liberty Bibberty. I wasn't really aware of Liberty Bibberty. I was back in, you know, a couple of years ago with the Limu Imu. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But apparently Liberty Mutual has moved on or expanded their roster to of spokesmodels to something called liberty, liberty, and people are not disgusting with it. People are disgusted by it. Uh, all of that, plenty more, but first Blair, we do like to ask our guests, what is something, uh, from your search history that's revealing about who you are?

All right. As you know, um, I have a commitment to Zeitgang, to my friend Jack, to my friend Miles of being of complete candor. And so my honest to God last search was, um, How to spell the word elicit and the verb. And if anyone out there wondering who's trucking along in their car, their SUV, maybe their hybrid sedan, it is E-L-I-C-I-T.

Right.

So like as in eliciting a response?

Uh, yeah.

What were you doing?

What were you doing when you're like, let me just look this up.

What were you, were you writing a strongly worded letter or something?

I was, and that's exactly what I was doing.

For me, I'm like, that's some strongly worded letter talk.

And here's one thing about me that I think you can guess. I, I'll never start anything. I will never start anything because I want to, I want to try and positively impact wherever I go. But if you start something.

Mariano Rivera.

But if you start something with a loved one of mine or me, I will finish it, baby.

That's right. Finish it. They call you the closer. I'm glad you just smashed her fist into her hand. Holy shit, dude. Just crush that can.

No, in Mortal Kombat, you know when you go, finish him.

Finish him. Yeah. And you just... You would literally rip someone's... head and spine out of their body.

Well, that's why I had to look up the word illicit because you can't be using, you can't misspell the word illicit.

Yeah. Then you get laughed at. Yeah.

Then everything, it's like the air out of a balloon.

Sure.

And bless you for not using a chat GPT for that too.

So, yeah.

Oh, no, I'm a straight Google, but then the AI tries to encroach on Google and I said, get out of here, computer head.

Computer head. Yeah. It's a good name for AI. Get out of.

Here, computer geek nerd fake-o.

A lot of spelling search history lately. I feel like that is kind of what we're using for these days. Right? Didn't we have a recent spelling search history? Didn't we? I can't remember. Jack, the days all blend together. That's like saying, did Trump do something? Are we okay as people? Blair, what is something you think is underrated?

Well, wireless, I mean, wire headphones, obviously, but then I was going to say the- Wait, obviously?

Yeah.

Obviously.

Go on. Wait, hold on. What's obvious about that?

Okay, look, Miles. I know that you're recording right now from the top of your penthouse at your tech company.

Yeah.

That's actually Raytheon.

I'm here at Raytheon.

They gave me an offer.

I knew that you have been CEO of Raytheon this entire time and just been doing this.

Didn't you see?

I changed my display name for the brand deal and it's Miles Graytheon now. And it's a fun little brand deal we got going on.

And look at the perks.

Miles Graytheon has to be an incredibly high-priced brand deal. I congratulate you so fully.

Miles Graytheon Grayjoy.

For my Game of Thrones fans out there.

Now, look, I have heard, and obviously nothing I say is ever allowed to be fact-checked, but I have heard that wire headphones cause a lot less radiation to your brain. Also, you don't have to charge them. Also, you don't have to lose them as much. But what I was going to say about something that I really do think is underrated now at my elderly age is the saying, the days are long, but the years are short.

Oh, man. Oh, boy. Nothing is truer than that one.

Every time I hear that one, I say it. Oh, man, that one hits like a meteor, baby. That one hits like a block of cement to the head.

Were you hanging out with the wrestlers again?

I've never actually hung out with a wrestler. I did meet this one that has orange hair once with Ron Funches many years ago, but that's it.

Okay, okay.

No, I mean, yeah, the years are short.

They....

Now, like, months feel like a week.

Yeah.

It's kind of where I'm at. It's not that the years feel super short, but the months. I guess if I really zoom out a bit, then they do feel shorter. But, like, I was already like, how the fuck are we in November?

I'm always zooming.

That was my birthday recently. You know I'm zooming. I stay zooming. Zoom, zoom, zoom.

Wait, you're in November? You're a Scorpio?

No, my birthday's in September. That's what I'm saying. Oh, you're a Virgo. Yeah, yeah. I felt like my- And I'm October. Hey, Libra.

What are you, Jack?

I am late July. I'm a Leo.

Leo.

Leo.

We're just in order, aren't we?

Are you a Libra? Yeah, we are.

I'm a Libra, baby. I'm through and through Libra.

All my homies Libras. Of course you are. That makes so much sense.

Me and Cardi B, absolutely. To the realist.

I feel like the pandemic was the most time-travel-y, days are long, years are short experience for me, but I've heard other people say this, that it's like, When it was happening, it seemed interminable. And then looking back on it, I don't actually realize that it happened. Like it was so fast. And I think it was because we were on Zoom so much. And as the name suggests, Zoom make you Zoom through time.

It's just disorienting for me. I'm like, I can't remember 2020 through 2022. Like in terms of like how I'm pretty good with my memory. Like I can be like, yeah, where was I that year at this place? I'm like, what was that?

Twenty one. Those days were long.

It was all so bizarre. Those are like the lost years. Also, speaking of memory, I feel like I really can't remember anything. Maybe it's my age and just how much insanity of amount of informational input that we take in each day. But every time I say something to one of my friends or loved ones, I have to say, I can't remember if I already told you this because I'm so afraid of being that elderly repeating person.

Yeah. And the good news is they don't remember if they told if you told them either. A lot of the time I told somebody about going to a Dia de los Muertos celebration last night and he was like, oh, yeah, this guy was just telling me he went there, too. And then later I talked to that guy. I was like, oh, you were also at that celebration. And he was like, no.

And I realized that the guy was remembering me having already told him that the week before when we were hanging out.

See, this is the kind of hilarious humor that I can't really get behind. At this age, the youth don't understand.

Y'all don't know.

Yeah, we're listening to Blink saying, what's my age again?

We're tastemakers.

What's my age again?

What's my age bro i don't even know.

I don't know anymore um blair what's something you think is overrated uh oh overrated uh overrated.

I think i guess i'm gonna have to go wireless headphones yeah definitely.

Overrated Yeah, I mean, I get that the, I mean, I know there is like low grade, like radio frequency stuff, but they say the real risk is like to your hearing, right?

Than like actual, like.

The radio radiation.

Oh, really? Is that so?

I think I need to read things a bit more in depth.

Yeah, I mean, look, I get it.

You have a tender head. You want to make sure you're doing right by it. So, yeah, I'm not going to fucking be like, why aren't you using wireless headphones? It's funny, too, because now it's kind of like the wave now with athletes when they go into stadiums and all. The wired headphones is kind of like the norm now. Yeah, I see so many, especially in like Europe, a lot of soccer players, they're coming.

Off the buses.

It used to be like Beats by Dre wireless headphones. They're walking in with wired headphones now.

I think it's because it's just too much shit to charge all the time. I can't be charging five things. Like I need, you know.

What I mean? Are my headphones charged?

I just used to, yeah, I think for millennials, it's like, yeah, we plug it in and it goes.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I get that. I need something to charge on my wired battery vest that I wear everywhere.

So that's why I keep.

These wireless bad boys on me.

Wait, you have a wireless battery vest?

Yeah, it's a giant. No, I don't. But that is like a technology I've seen bandied about being like, you got to have this for all your devices.

Miles invented it. Oh, wait.

Oh, wired battery? Like a battery vest that allows you to charge all your shit, essentially.

That's such dystopian fuckery, dude.

I don't need that shit.

Yeah, that's humiliating. Walking batteries, that's nerd shit.

I feel like that's the next level for the weighted vest crowd that you see exercising.

I do have a weighted vest. You know I have a weighted vest.

I know you got the weighted vest.

Yeah.

How do you think we're seeing all four of your quadriceps if you're not rocking the weighted vest? How many pounds have you got?

Why not make the weight in your weighted vest work for you is all I'm saying.

Fifteen.

15 is the highest?

Oh, I think maybe they have heavier now.

I'm sure.

Actually, that's probably a ridiculous thing to say.

But I was reading a thing.

It was like 8, 10, 12, 15 on Amazon.

There was like an article about how like MAGA and like the Maha movement like had the weighted vest crowd in their crosshairs as potential pickoffs to bring to like the conservative movement because it was like woo woo adjacent sort of. And it was interesting to see how like, okay, we were like, could be the thing. They could be targeting the weighted vest crowd soon.

It's interesting. There will be a show on Netflix in 2027 in which I do a play, A Maha Woman.

Wow.

Get ready for that.

We're looking forward to that. Oh, fuck, Blair. Oh, I can't wait. You're going to be so good at that. Dude, I thought you were fucking joking. That's amazing.

No, I'm not joking.

Oh, fuck.

Yeah, that's perfect. Oh, I can't wait. I can't wait. Raw milk. I just pay a small man to cling to my chest for weighted best purposes.

That's really good.

It's a little master blaster.

That's so vintage.

So, you know, like the people who are like, you have to only eat raw liver. Their whole argument is like, this is what our ancestors did. You know what they did? They carried their baby around on their chest all the time. So that's why I'm carrying a small man. Or your mother-in-law. You're like, yeah, hop on, hop on. Let's go. Let's do some groceries. Get over here. That's cute. That would be really sweet.

That's really cute.

Yeah. All right. Let's take a quick break and we'll come back and talk about the doxing of some oligarchs. We'll be right back. And we are back. We are back. And it turns out we are back. And we got some hot, spicy goss. Not even goss, dude. We can't tell any of you. Oh, that part. Yeah, yeah. Secrets, dude.

Sick-ass secrets, dude.

I mean, we laid it bare right there. We really laid it bare, you know.

But....

Should we talk about oligarchs? Yeah, we got to. I'm worried about them, okay? I know that Prop 40 probably didn't pass yesterday. I'm still worried about them because they were so scared about Prop 40. What do you think that does to them?

What do you think that does to a person to give away 5% of your your wealth when you have over a billion dollars do you know what that can do to a person seriously.

It's fucked up to even consider doing that to them and i think like we have a lot of work to do to gain back their trust and like we we should just be asking them like what do you what do you want us to do you said you said this wasn't the right plan to get billionaires uh taxed I have to assume the right plan is forthcoming, right? Yeah, right.

You're going to suggest something to handle inequality like that in your wealth hoarding?

They're going to have some great ideas. Yeah.

Well, let's allow this activist, hacktivist group, really activists and not really hackers. They're called the Capitistas. Which is obviously like a play on Zapatistas and the capybara because that's a rodent famous for getting along with almost any other animal.

Is that really what it is? That's what they said in a Wired article. Yeah. I thought it was capitalism and Zapatistas like this. Oh, no, no.

That's what I was thinking. Cool hybrid word.

Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, it wasn't so similar. Yeah. I also thought there was like a copypasta element to it. Yeah, it looks like copypasta. All of my misunderstandings are working for you, Capitistas. Don't misuse my goodwill by going and making the billionaires even angrier.

Well, yeah, they are about to commence a doxing campaign that is going to make them squirm. This is from Wired. Quote, an underground activist group says it plans to start openly doxing billionaires as part of a phased campaign against what it calls the American oligarchy. Beginning this month with a release that maps the homes of Elon Musk, his brother Kimball, and Tesla's board, alongside investors and suppliers that keep the corporation afloat. Two of its members interviewed by Wire on the condition of anonymity said they spent the past year constructing dossiers on billionaires and one trillionaire.

Who could that be?

And the people they consider their top lieutenants using nearly every method available to a private investigator and some that are not. Um, through its connections, the group says it has raised more than $ 1. 2 million from a heartening number of wealthy class traders who share in the view that concentrations of extreme wealth and political power pose a quote existential threat.

So, yeah.

Um, you know, these people are able to enjoy their anonymity while hoarding wealth and watching the 99% suffer. So, um, the, the notion that their, their privacy is, Um, it's something that, you know, is obviously very, very important to them because a lot of people, like we talk about too, like most people don't know who like the heads of oil companies are, who are sort of the architects of that.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Who are the ones who are defending the use of fossil fuel use and, you know, dirty energy and things like that. It's, I think it's important that people know this, who these people are, because the more, um, scrutiny that can come from the public. As they say, they're like, they might not like what we're doing, but it's like, but we may actually be helping them by sort of getting ahead of some kind of like worse, who knows what kind of thing happens with all of this inequality.

They're saying maybe this will allow people to see the point that it might be better to begin spreading the wealth rather than hoarding it. And the group, they say they have no qualms about this since the companies these billionaires operate collect our data constantly for profit and oftentimes with dubious consent.

So it's way more damaging for us to be doxxed because we only got one house. Yeah. We don't, you know, we don't have multiple addresses that we can move between or like live in a hotel for a year. If that becomes more convenient for you. Yeah.

They say that again, quote, privacy is the one thing that the group believes billionaires and now trillionaires value that activists can take away. Quote, the copy Tista's intend to level the playing field by giving oligarchs a taste of the invasion of privacy. They commit and monetize every day. So I can't wait for the moment the billionaires pull their money together to make this illegal under some kind of new terrorism bill.

Oh, yeah. This is definitely going to be considered terrorism very soon. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

It just feels like the kind of thing like this is stochastic terror.

Yeah.

And you're trying to put attention on me because I work for the Nazi EV car guy and I'm not interested in actually making the.

World a better place.

I'm all in on creating bunkers to protect us from you. the fucking hordes of pores so yeah damn eminem all right do the hordes of pores.

Yeah that's so scary like there is no like he is so unchecked in any way like there's he faces truly zero guardrails in any area of like his effect on world and even interplanetary.

Right, right.

I mean, I think that's the thing, you know, is that this is kind of one of those things that people don't know, like, like where all of his houses are not that like they need that something has to happen because of that.

But the idea that these people.

Can be like, and you'll never know who. I am, and you'll never know where I'm at because my involvement in inequality is in an opaque box that you cannot see into. And I think that's sort of as I've said a lot of the times, it's like these people need to be household names, just in the same way that we think about politicians. Who do you think is affecting policy? It's the people above them with all of this wealth. And so I think to unmask that, I think is an important step.

I still have hesitation of anything about violence, which I know is controversial, but I still think How is it not made illegal instantaneously? Like that there should be like a $ 5, 000 cap for contributing to any campaign or lobbying or anything like that. Like it should be completely illegal to influence the government with money.

Yeah. These are the things that will be obvious to people when they look back on. Yeah. Well, when Blair's president and when they look back on this moment in history from like years in the future and are like, man, that all seems pretty obviously bad. Right. Hey, speaking of history, I do them mentioning private investigators. They're like, we got every method available to private investigators made me realize, like, I haven't really thought about private investigators since. Chinatown. It's like the 70s movies. Yeah. And like Nathan for you, like the things that I'm picturing for private investigators is like taking photographs from a car window of them doing stuff and then like putting those photographs in a manila envelope. Yeah. Yeah.

Tailing them like going under the boot of their car and putting a little magnetic device on it and just like following them around. Has anybody like done a good modern private investigator movie to like?

I feel like it's so quaint. The only ones I've seen have been like a 90 day fiance. There was a woman who was a private investigator. And then she also discovered like her partner was cheating on her because she's a private investigator.

I feel like that's what most people use them for.

Sure.

Yeah.

Yeah.

It's usually like infidelity.

Yeah, like, they just need, like, a picture for a trial for assets.

Sure, sure. Yeah, and I think Victor, Supervisor Victor said inherent vice, which is said in the 70s, right? Right, right, right. It's just a thing that people don't... We interviewed a private investigator back at Cracked once, and, like, they were, like, a lot of the people that you end up interviewing are, like, going through some pathology of some sort or another, like, are having, you know, issues with like kind of a warped perception of reality. And that's why it's a very difficult and uncomfortable job a lot of the time. Right.

But yeah, it's a, it's not a, I would be curious what, what those are, what those are because them using private investigators as a touchstone made me just immediately think of somebody in the 1960s smoking a cigarette outside someone's house. Yeah.

I think it's also just the The guy, like my most recent depiction of a private investigator is like that Bostonian dude who was on Nathan For You, who was just.

Kind of like a weird guy, so lonely.

He's like, you're kind of a weirdo.

Like, what are you going to do? Are you going to hang out? I haven't seen it yet.

It's painful.

Oh, this is just the show.

This isn't the documentary. This was his old show where he was trying to see if he could. He's like, you're not going to find me.

He's like, all right. Yeah, don't worry.

I'm going to find you. I'm going to find you. And he had all these doubles to try and throw him.

Off the scent.

I am watching that show war on, uh, I think HBO max with Sienna Miller, a huge fan and, um, about like a very contentious divorce. And like, it's the most high in the show. It's the most high, um, price divorce in, uh, Britain ever.

And the way that billionaire. Yeah. Yeah.

And so like what they have, the lawyers do, it seems to me is basically like private, low-grade warfare yes it's insane what they like the espionage and like what they do it's.

Crazy what's yeah like in like like real wealthy people know how to like weaponize divorce in ways that like normal people don't because they're like dude i'm gonna fucking hold on to every penny and if i have to like use every tactic available to me i'm going.

To extract information and find information is crazy yeah is it good show Yeah, I love it. But I also love Sienna Miller. Like, I think she's so amazing.

All right. Let's talk about that Learjet crash that was generating a ton of conspiracy theories over the weekend. It is it went down in South Florida. It was going from Austin to the Bahamas. All nine people on board were killed. And there is like dramatic dash cam footage capturing the moment that the plane kind of like hurdles nose down out of the sky. I'm at the point now where I like, now that I've seen stuff, I'm like, okay, I need to know everything about the, like, sometimes I'm able to just be like, I don't want to know.

I don't want to know because it's just going to make it impossible for me to fly. But now I'm like, I want, I want to know stuff about this basically. So I will be kind of keep keeping an eye on this one, but The reason that this generated so many conspiracy theories beyond the fact that we're just a broken society, that this is what we do to entertain ourselves, is it happened eight miles away from Mar-a-Lago, and Mar-a-Lago literally just deployed ground-based air defense assets. And so people are like, you know, well, those are two news stories from the past week that happened within eight miles of one another. They've got to be connected.

Yeah, so with, like, that theory being, like, one of those, like, they launched a surface-to-air missile or something?

Right. That seems to be the initial idea, is that for some reason, and now they'll, I'm assuming they're already digging into this family. It's, like, two parents and their, like, toddler, and then, like, their nanny. Yeah, the guy was, like, a tech mogul, I think. Yeah, tech mogul. Yeah, I'm sure they're gonna start digging in and finding ways to connect him to, like, being dangerous, but I would just say my initial my initial thoughts on this. And look, I would love for this to be some aberrant, you know, thing that happened with a weapon so that it wasn't a thing that could happen to any plane ever. But like the idea that they shot it down like you can.

Did they shoot it down with a water gun? Because it's like not on fire when it hits the ground in the dash cam footage. So I don't know like where that.

Theory comes just the air traffic control correspond like the back and forth isn't like we just got hit by a missile or something yeah they said they were trying to avoid weather and then like a bunch of adverse effects just sort of compounded on each other and sent the the yeah the plane like.

What was the adverse effects and first of all you would be able to visually see it if a missile hit it right um what were like what ultimately made it go down like It just caught a bad path, like in the.

Wind or something? Early theories, and they're still looking into this, but early theories are that it was icing mixed with extremely turbulent air. So they're flying over a thunderstorm, which can have extremely rough air. And then the thing you can hear on the transmission is like, the co-pilot reports back that the temperature is negative 47 degrees Celsius, which is incredibly, you know, cold. I mean, that's generally what the temperature is up there. That's why they do so much like de-icing and stuff on planes before they fly, because, you know, you don't want the machines that are like on the plane that would help you react to adverse conditions to be iced over. And a lot of the early theories are, that basically that's what happens. And they

hit a patch of air that kind of sent them into a nosedive, and then the instruments that would help you pull out of a nosedive were iced over, which makes sense to me. And I also think that is one of those things that, It's a small plane, you know, it's a private plane. And so that I think is easier to like send into a nosedive than like a gigantic jet. Yeah. It's sad. Yeah. The other thing is incredibly sad are.

Trying to like point fingers at is the 20 year old woman who's the co-pilot.

Sure.

They're like, she's not the she wasn't actually piloting the plane. You know, she was communicating from the cockpit what was going on while the pilot was trying to figure like, you know, to fly the thing. And just, like, you just see so many people, like, with their stupid, like, anti-DEI takes. Like, this wouldn't have happened if that wasn't, like, some girl in.

There or whatever.

And other pilots came to her defense, like, she's fully credit. She has every license she needed to be operating that. So, outside of other things, I've seen other people be like, well, that plane's way too tricky for someone that young or whatever. Sure, whatever you want to fucking say. But at the end of the day, I mean, like, unless... unless there's a much deeper story to this, it just feels like a very, very tragic accident that happened. And also just like, remember I was telling you how one of the first things I saw was like, listen to the final moments of the cockpit. It's like crazy how quickly everything comes together.

There's so many news stories that are integrating that into it. And I think it's so unnecessary to hear people distressed at that level, Yeah. Just as something we consume just passively. I'm like, Oh, here, like there were so many videos like on Instagram where they're like, they're like trying to show like recreations of the thing with the air traffic control talk. And I'm like, no, this is, this is fucking awful, man. Like I don't, you don't need to hear people in real time, like reacting to the fact that they realize that they are looking at like basically certain death. Um, so, Spare yourself the content around it.

And maybe read about it.

I will not be listening to that.

Yeah, it's terrifying. Awful.

There's all the school shootings every freaking day. And just like, I mean, it's just, you know, like just the fact that that's something like we hear someone's last moments. Like, I don't know.

We don't need that. We don't know.

Like, I don't know how that helps. I'm sure obviously like in the old ways I could read about him like, oh my God, that's terrible.

That's terrible. Right.

Adding that other dimension of making it so graphic is, I think, over time, like, fucks you up in a way that you don't really realize. And I think I hit my breaking point this weekend when, like, everything.

Was like, listen to this.

I'm like, dude, I do not want to fucking hear it. I'm like, you can hear the pilot praying.

Oh, my God. Like, fuck no. That's enough. Just hearing that, I'm like, okay, that's great. Thank you for that.

So sad.

But I think that is where the, you know, intensity... of like the drive to create conspiracy theories to deal with this because they're, you know, these are things that are, people feel like are out of their control in the, in the world realm of school shootings. You know, there are laws that we can be passing, but everybody feels pretty helpless about those at this point in America. And so they, this is sort of a form of fiction that they've like, it's sort of an art form that people are using to try to cope with feelings of fear and uh it's it's a shame that that's yeah that is what is you know where our culture is at but it does seem to be where we're at yeah all right well speaking of it being a shame

where our culture is at uh we're going to take a quick break and then we're going to come back and talk about liberty biberty we'll be right back And we're back. We're back. And we're back. All right. So back in July, Liberty Mutual Insurance debuted a new mascot called Liberty Bibberty, a name derived from some dumb bullshit from a previous commercial where a guy, like, I think that it was like a commercial where like a dumb actor was like, that was the character. was like trying to learn his lines for Liberty Mutual and he couldn't say Liberty Mutual and he kept saying Liberty Bibberty, which is Liberty Mutual is not a hard thing to say.

I would have, I would check for some kind of neurological event.

Right. If you said, okay, say Liberty Mutual. Yeah. Liberty Bibberty. He seemed like, yeah, somebody who had suffered some sort of trauma of some sort was like his backstory. But anyways, they were like, that's fun. Those people, Four syllables. No, six syllables are fun. Let's go with that. So they created Liberty Bibberty, which is a yellow furball puppet with googly eyes, a Statue of Liberty crowned for some reason, like a tiny Statue of Liberty crown.

Well, because that's the Liberty Mutual logo is a Statue of Liberty.

Oh, OK. Now we're making sense. Never mind. It's good. It's good, actually.

I'm well aware of their logo because that's the homeowner's insurance I had when the fire happened.

I look at that logo a lot. Yeah. Was their advertising the reason that you went with them? Oh, yeah. When I saw that, we changed. Limu the emu? Oh, yeah.

Limu, emu, and dog or whatever that stupid commercial is. I just want to also describe that he has a mouthful of like ugly Sonic teeth. Like remember when they first gave us Sonic the Hedgehog and he had like weird human teeth that like seemed too human and people were like, he seems sick. Like that's kind of what Liberty Bibberty is giving. Shockingly, it was made by Jim Henson's Creature Shop who seemed like they devoted maybe half a lunch break to creating this monstrosity.

I don't know. But it's, I would say it kind of seems sick. a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. This isn't good.

It looks like if like, uh, big bird, like lost everything about big bird that made them big bird. Like it just like the yellow, like the eyes are big bird adjacent. And then the beak is gone and replaced with a fucking human mouth.

It's kind of terrifying. It seems like a combination of big bird and a minion. Like we talked in the minions episode, uh, of the iconograph about how like one of the things that, one of the tricks for making an iconic character is making them easy to draw. And so they were like, what if it was a pill with eyes when they were creating the minion? And it feels like they were like, you know, ovals are kind of tricky. What if it was a circle with eyes? Right.

And noses are hard to draw. What if it was just a circle with eyes and mouth?

To me, what this is, and this is a deep cut millennial reference, is a weeple.

Do you remember weeples?

Okay, so when we had the magazine drive, they were like this. It was like a cotton ball with googly eyes and little feet, sticky feet.

Those are so cute.

I remember at our school when we did the magazine drive. Shut up, magazine drives. If you sold one magazine, you got a weeple. So, like, that was a thing every kid got. Like, all you had to do was get something out there.

Magazine drives and candy bar drives, by the way, in retrospect, so strange that our schools made us do that.

Oh, my God. I had to do Tupperware sales for CCD.

Tupperware sales?

Yeah, I actually did numbers with those, but only.

Because my mom... You were putting up numbers for the Catholic church?

Yeah, because my mom thought it was a character exercise for us to, like, have to knock on doors of adults and, like, do that. It was hell.

Oh, my God.

Anyways, I'm not Catholic anymore, so.

Yeah. Still got the guilt, though.

Yes.

It never goes away.

I am worried I'm in trouble right now.

I'm worried about my soul, to be honest. I spoke during the intro.

Yeah, I did. Oh, my God. My moral OCD is intense.

Fuck, I'm fucked, I'm fucked, I'm fucked. Oh shit.

Well, Liberty Bibberty is again to me, a weeple fucking rip off.

It is a weeple. It is. It's basically, have you ever seen those? Um, when people are like, what if the Simpsons were actually alive and they do like a human depiction of Homer and it just looks like, something unholy that, like, would just be like, God, kill me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, they just look terrible. This seems like a weeple was given that same treatment. You know what I mean?

All right, I'm sorry to say I did just look it up, and I think it's cute, just like I think the weeple is cute, but I will say absolutely direct ripoff. But, like, the weeple's cute as hell. I don't know.

The weeple is cute. I'm saying this one has too much. It's kind of like Oscar the Grouch. I don't know. This one has... I don't need it to have... eyelids and like human eyes eyeballs in there. And then like, uh, you know dent dentally accurate yeah it's it does.

Look narcotics adjacent i will say it.

Does and it also looks like if you were in the back rooms you would see this shit wandering around like that's like the weeple of the back rooms like in a tunnel right she would tell edgy for his character got backroomed and looked like a fucked up pirate that's what this liberty liberty looked like yeah.

Fell down a hatch door um tunnels that people speak about.

You think Liberty Bibberty is cute, Blair. Is that what you're saying?

It's like, okay, well, I just looked it up because I didn't want to make noise while we were doing it. And then, like, upon a closer look, those eyes are. You know, a bit aggressive, but.

A bit aggressive.

A bit aggressive, but I do... Yeah, I think I'd have to go with the Weeple, but.

Yeah. The Weeple is the right level of detail, I think, for the concept. Yeah, you know what I mean? It doesn't need teeth, man. Don't stop giving shit teeth. That's what... That's always, like, the thing where people go, oh, fucking teeth, man. Don't make it real. Like, if they're going to be teeth, give them cartoon... Because now it looks like... Redesigned Sonic teeth.

Now it looks like someone's fucked up severed head.

Yeah, that's right.

Now I'm like, I don't know whose head this is, what happened to it.

I don't need to know. But so anyways, this is a story, a genre of story we sometimes talk about where something has been extremely reviled. Like John Oliver started ridiculing it. Then people like staged a fake protest because like this is what we do. We play at protesting instead of actually protesting stuff in America sometimes. But this is exactly like this is just it working. Apparently, like all of these complaints are just playing right into the hands.

Of us talking about liberty, liberty, liberty, which no one would ever be talking about except for that.

Like, well, it's also funny because, yeah, like John Oliver was getting in on the liberty, liberty discussed.

Right.

Yeah, you think the freaking French are out there worrying about Weeble Ripley?

Right? Yeah, this is not what they're protesting. They don't play when it comes to protesting. But yeah, basically it's... It is winning. It's effective advertising because the videos have, I think, 754 million views on YouTube alone of just people being like, ooh, look at this fucked up thing. What?

754 million?

I need to make a shitty mascot for my YouTube.

Six commercials, 754 million views. How the fuck? What?

If I make a bad mascot for me as a comedian, can you guys make fun of it so that it can go viral?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll help you launch it on this show.

And I can make $ 1 in this business.

There you go.

We'll hold you to those YouTube ad cents money when it does 100 million views on YouTube.

Yeah, thank you. Please protest.

Yeah. The one, so I was like looking at this, like the Geico Gecko is like another example of like, I think people kind of like, like that one that it seems like they were like, we got to make it likable, but they're just basically saying. He was a little Gecko. It is really important for it to be associated with the name because I was thinking of insurance salespeople, like the JK Simmons one. is we are farmers for some reason i just like no because he just like says we are farmers but like over and over and over again the only but there's like that insurance commercial where it's like these people are turning into their parents which i think is like you know as far as insurance commercials go pretty good but i couldn't remember who

which brand that was for because it's not like And these people are progressive progressies. You know what I mean? They had Flo. They started off with Flo. That was their name mascot. Again, I didn't know who Flo was with. She was a progressive.

That was Stephanie Courtney. She was one of my first improv teachers at the Groundlings.

Progressive does seem to like really use the improv world because I feel like a lot of those people in the turning into your parents.

My dearest friend, Natalie Palamides has been in those commercials for nine years. She just keeps moving up the progressive chain.

Oh my gosh.

She must be fucking raking it in when you're in a national ad campaign for something like that.

It's like for nine years. Yeah.

But a writer was pointing out that this like mascots are not there to just sell products and commercials. They're used as social media rage bait. And like, that is how they're like, they're like, that's free media. People talking about how fucked our mascot is. That's called, that's like $ 3 million worth of free media. The Duolingo owl dying was like a big controversy that was like free media and That giant Pop-Tart being publicly sacrificed was a big thing.

But they point to the original sin of this, which is Gritty, the Philadelphia Flyers mascot, who is designed to look like a Muppet who is refusing to pay child support, I guess. But Gritty got a ton of internet ridicule. And then people, you know, I think it reached 4.7 billion people online and generated what the marketing team behind it referred to as $ 151 million in online news publicity within 30 days of his debut. So it's just like, yeah.

I mean, any publicity is good publicity. And then they made a bunch of money off of Gritty merch.

I think also, too, people underrate the Philadelphia aspect of Gritty.

That's true.

To have that in that town and people go, oh, that.

Thing's fucking gross. And they're like, no, we fucking love it. Yeah. And then it just becomes like bigger.

That's actually genius because like no one will stand 10 tails down harder than Philly.

On their sports shit.

Yeah.

And then it becomes like a bigger thing.

Nobody give a fuck. Like Liberty, your ass is in the gutter.

I'm sorry. Nobody's coming for you to save you. So you think it's going to be closer to the Quiznos sub? Oh, that disgusting fucking thing.

That was one of the grossest looking, like, bizarro taxidermy.

I've never seen this before.

That looks like that thing. That looks like that hybrid animal that was taking over my feed, Jimothy or some shit.

Jimothy the raccoon with a spine.

Jimothy is not a hybrid animal. Jimothy is an actual raccoon with like a birth defect.

Oh, really? I really take that back.

I love that. What did you think it was a hybrid of?

I thought it was a forced, two breeds of animals were forced to mate in some sick thing that we would have to talk about on this podcast. Another thing that was like, illustrated the sickness of our society. But no, I have gotten it wrong this time. And I want to get out in front of this and say I'm extremely sorry.

You and your people.

Don't ruin your 2028 presidential.

Run with this.

Yeah, exactly. And I made a mistake here. And as someone who has many invisible disabilities, you know, I shouldn't be making off the hand more remarks like that without looking into it.

Well, I just want to put... I don't know if you remember. They sang a terrible song. So, Gritty is the best possible... Like, they teach these, like, rage bait, like, characters that, like, people hate but then grow to love or just remember. Grow to remember in marketing school. And so, on the one side is, like, Gritty. Genius. Like, you can...

print money if you invent pretty. And then on the other side, they're like, but don't go too far because then you could be the Quiznos sponge monkeys. And Miles is about to play that. I don't know if you remember this.

It was just, again, these diabolical forms singing songs about Quiznos.

I'm upset watching these.

I'm upset seeing this right now. Okay, yep, that's enough. I'm having nightmares. It just looks like it's begging to be killed. The eyes are sick-looking. It looks like some Island of Dr. Moreau shit.

I was just about to say, it looks like a fish that was in a chemical plant explosion.

But it also looks like a rodent, which is not what you want your fast, casual restaurant to be associated with. Right, right, right.

I never saw those, and I'm glad I didn't.

Oh, we're sorry.

Well, that was 2004, I think, when that came out. So I was, like, just beginning college, and I was eating a fuck ton of Quiznos, man.

Let me tell you. Quiznos got me through college, man.

I don't think they had those commercials while I was watching Entourage at Blake and Tony's house.

Yeah, sure, sure. Shout out Blake and Tony. Blair, such a pleasure having you, as always, on the Daily Zeitgeist. Where can people find you, follow you, all that good stuff?

Wow, Jack, thank you so much for asking. I had the time of my life here as well. As you know, I came on here with my shrewd political commentary, as always. Please follow me if you haven't at Blair Saki, B-L-A-I-R-S-O-C-C-I on all platforms. I have a few tour dates coming up this weekend, Thursday through Saturday. I'm going to be in Raleigh, North Carolina, Dallas. I will be November 20th and 21st and 22nd. And then Corona, California, Inland Empire, November 27th, 28th, and Houston, December 5th through 7th. Also, please check out my podcast, The Spaced Out Podcast. We're having a great time over there. We're getting some big old guests. We're getting Marc Maron, Chelsea Peretti, Anthony Jeselnik,

Ron Funches, come on over. I think you could like it.

Yeah. I think you could. I think you will. I think you could like it.

It's like hanging with Blair in Blair's world, I think. So if you like Blair, you have to listen to her.

Hanging in Blair's interplanetary dimension.

Remember Bobby's World, dude? Welcome to Blair's World. Oh, you mean Bob's? I fucking got you, Blair.

Yeah, you did. Got my ass. Dusted my ass.

Blair, is there a work of media that you've been enjoying?

Oh actually it's called nocturne it just came out so i don't know if you know this about me i don't like horror movies because i'm too sensitive my nervous system but what i do love is like sort of a non-violent thriller and um right now and apple tv usually has a lot of these uh and like a limited series type of show but nocturne i just started i hope that's the name and i'm not um just mispronouncing it by just like a small adjustment, humiliating. But anyways, it's really enjoyable. I'm really locked in so far.

Locked in to nocturne. Sounds good. You're really shouting out a lot of streaming series.

Yeah, I watch a lot of TV, if you can believe it.

Yeah. Hell yeah. All right. Miles, where can people find you? Is there a work of media you've been enjoying? That's the show with Stephen Graham, right? Stephen Graham, is it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

I don't know who Stephen Graham's face is.

Yes, he is. He is. He is. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember. He's like a serial killer and they're trying to... It's got real Sounds of the Lambs vibes.

Yes.

Yeah. I remember... This makes me realize that every streaming series I'm rooting for it to be bad so that I don't have to watch it or spend the time watching it. I'm like, it's probably fucking stupid, and then I'm disappointed.

We lead very different lives.

I know. Steven Graham, also black. People don't know that about him. Wait, what? Yeah, his grandfather's Jamaican. For real? Yes. Yes. I did not realize that. No, I didn't know. I just remember him from Snatch. I'm like, bro, oh, wow.

He's a Swedish grandmother, Jamaican grandfather.

Amazing. Mm-hmm. Miles. Hmm? Where can people find you as our work media? You've been enjoying it. Find me everywhere.

They have at symbols. That's including just fucking anywhere.

Try it.

And if not, please don't take the handle. It's a platform I'm not at yet. There's like some new one that everyone's like going fucking crazy over.

That's like, it's like the new fucking Instagram.

Are you serious? I can't do this.

No. You know how like, remember like two years ago? I'm so sick of this.

Every fucking week, it's like, well, this is actually the new, this is like the new, this is the new threads. This is actually the new reels. This is now the new Instagram. But all the young.

Seem to like it.

And once I get out of my senile haze, I'll be like, it's called something. trust me, I'm not going to go there. You can have the handle there.

Um, anyway, uh, find me at miles of gray.

I'm talking about 90 day fiance on four 20 day fiance, where we're talking right now about 90 day fiance, the other way and all the fucking wacky characters on there. And then talking about the premier league champions league on ain't it footy with Jamel Johnson and Chris Martin.

I love Jamel Johnson.

Jamel is great. Jamel is great. Chris is also great too.

Um, and, uh, A video, a piece of media I like is from at Emily P.

Frank.

It's a video of Haley Stevens in her wacky hat when she went to go vote. It says this hat is just about the clearest indication of a mental health crisis I could have imagined. And I just want to play this little bit of her strolling into the polls with her mom on Election Day with this big old Amish Carmen Sandiego hat of hers.

You're getting a lot of backlash.

Does it feel worth it to have endorsed Mike Rogers today? Any comment at all about how you feel? I'm with my mom. This is our tradition here. And you know what this is?

What is this?

It's the People's Day. And I told this to our next speaker of the House, Akeem Jeffries. It's Majority Maker's Day. What do you mean by that?

But you're voting for a Republican.

Just not Senate Majority Day. Yeah, that's it. Just hearing her.

I gotta say, the hat is growing on me. The hat is growing on me. It's so big. It's so fluffy. It's so big. It's so big. Oh, boy.

And then people were posting underneath there was a meme where it showed Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding, and they were both labeled Haley Stevens.

I liked a tweet from I'm Av on Twitter that said that Haley Stevens masked singer reveal in two years is going to hit like fucking crack.

Hilarious.

And I liked a tweet from Alice Mills who tweeted, my dreams of being a poet vanished like a thing in a whatever. You can find me on Twitter at Jack underscore O'Brien. Yes, I think you're going to like this really kind of fun dancey track from Ladorian. Not like DeLorean. We were talking about DeLoreans yesterday. Now we're talking about the band Ladorian, which I believe they are from Sweden. They're like a group of Swedish producers. Cool, fun, dancey track.

It's called Easier. So check this one out.

Because maybe have an easier day today and listen to Ladorian.

Take it easier. You voted yesterday. Why don't you just take a load off?

You voted seven times yesterday.

Take a load off. That's so hard. Also, Emily P. Frank sounds like me trying to say, let me be Frank and fucking it up.

Emily P.
