Ghosts Are Real... But They're Not Always What You Think

Welcome back to the Unity Code podcast. I have a little bit of a problem with the word ghost. That's because when someone tells me that their house is haunted, and honestly, that happens quite a bit up here in New England, what exactly does that mean?

2:16 Because in my experience, we could be talking about so many different things. We could be talking about maybe a spirit who hasn't crossed over. We could be talking about an energetic imprint or an echo of something that had happened in the past. We could be connecting to the land or the energy of the land.

2:31 And we might also be connecting with something that isn't even human. These are all different things that I have personally encountered in my own home, in other people's homes. And we are calling a bunch of very different experiences the same thing. And so I want to really break down this idea of the word ghost.

2:54 And to me, what does that mean? What does that look like? And obviously, this entire conversation is meant to be, I'm not going to use the what word necessarily uplifting, but it's meant to be educational because I know that many of us are conditioned by horror movies as well as the paranormal television shows to have a little bit of a fear associated around ghosts, like feel like it's dangerous.

3:18 Absolutely. Because scary sells, right? Scary sells. But that's not necessarily how I want you to walk away from this podcast today because I want you to be empowered about what some of these things look and feel like so that you have a better understanding of maybe the things that go bump in the night at your house.

3:40 And so let's start here. And I'm going to try really hard not to go super off the deep end here about how I define a ghost, right? Versus a spirit. So I'm going to, I'm going to keep it really light here. And then I'm going to actually kind of break down this idea of ghost further in a minute. But first, I really want to separate out this idea of like a ghost versus spirit, because in the mediumship world, when we connect to consciousness on the other side, whether it is an incarnated spirit, whether it is the actual soul of a departed andor a living person, we are connecting with an intelligent energy that is making the conscious choice to have a conversation with us on behalf of the client or

4:25 the person or the sitter that wants to receive the message. And so when we talk to spirit through mediumship, they tend to be, this is an asterisk, everybody, but I'm not going down that rabbit hole, they tend to be souls that have fully crossed over, that have gone through the life review process, that that know and feel and see the bigger picture at a soul level.

4:50 Right. So to me, that is really the definition of a spirit or a soul on the other side that we connect to in mediumship. And now, if we're talking about this idea of ghost, and again, a lot of different words for this, like an apparition, a haunting, a presence that you might feel here in this 3D experience.

5:10 This can be and usually is associated with someone who has died, but maybe has not quote unquote crossed over. But I'm going to break that down because don't listen to that and immediately check out. I promise you, I'm going to give you a different definition than maybe what you've heard of before. Just using the crossed over terminology is the easiest way to have this conversation.

5:32 And so when we're thinking about this idea of like ghost versus spirit, I'm not talking about the consciousness that has surpassed life review. I'm actually talking about people that have not crossed into this life review process that are choosing to stay on the earthly plane. And so this is really the first bucket of things that go bump in the night that I want to talk about are these ideas of conscious spirits, conscious ghosts that choose to remain closer to the earthly realm.

6:06 And I think this is what most people think about when we're talking about ghosts, right? We're talking about a soul, a person who has crossed over from the physical into the spirit world. By the way, you don't get stuck in that process. It's pretty black or white. You're either in the physical world or you cross over into the spirit world, right?

6:25 And so as soon as you cross over into the spirit world, you are in the spirit world full stop. There's no getting stuck between worlds. Like it doesn't happen. But I will tell you that when we cross over into the spirit world, a lot of us will cross over directly into the earthly plane of the spirit world.

6:42 And so when I'm talking about the earthly plane of the spirit world, even though this is gonna fucking creep you out again, I'm not trying to do this from fear. I'm just trying to do this to make a point. You sitting wherever you're sitting in this podcast, whether it's in your car or your house, maybe you're outside guardianing, like there are, you are a physical being in the middle of the spirit world.

7:02 And so you definitely have spirits around you that you can't see. And those are the spirits that can kind of come down here and visit us, but also they can also be the spirits that are here in the earthly realm. So when we cross over into this earthly realm, it is just essentially the closest vibration into this physical experience that we have in the spirit world.

7:24 So that earthly realm is very dense, it is a little bit dark. It is, it is what a lot of people might see or experience within with NDEs that don't go to a higher vibration, right? And so when they cross over into the spirit world and they're closer to this earthly realm, the soul, the person that has departed, decides to have a conscious choice.

7:46 Like they have the conscious choice to stay with their guides, stay with their loved ones, go into the light, cross over into the life review process, move into that more ascended state within the spirit vibration, which 99.9% of people do. Andor they can decide to not essentially go into the lighter crossover.

8:09 They can decide to stay closer to the earthly realm. And I don't want to say this is stuck because I feel like there is a conscious choice here with some of these spirits, some of these souls that decide to do this. And some of the examples of why they might stay closer to the earthly realm is that, you know, they truly might have unfinished business.

8:27 They might not want to leave until their spouse comes with them. They might not want to leave until their kids are with them on the other side. Maybe they're very protective over their family. This is definitely something that I have personally seen in mediumship readings where a grandfather, thank you, Spirit.

8:42 Thank you, Ernesto. A grandfather was called to the light by his guides and he said, I'm not going. I'm not ready. I'm not going. And the guide continuously was like, You gotta come. This is where you go, this is where you go. And the grandfather was like, I'm not going. And we will see this a lot with people who cross over, they tend to stay closer to the earthly realm during the funeral services, during the wake.

9:12 They tend to move towards the light when their body is actually buried in the ground or cremated. That is typically what I have seen. And it's not always, but this is something I have seen as a trend in the mediumship space. And so there's a point when almost every spirit is kind of making that conscious choice to move towards the light, move towards a life review versus stay into this, stay closer to the earthly realm, closer to this physical experience, which is so interesting to me.

9:46 And some of the other examples include people who are very religiously programmed, right? And maybe they did not do good things here because they think if they go into the light, that is the transition into purgatory or hell, right? You have other people, and I'm gonna say this is the rare, rare, rare, rare exception that don't know that they're dead and or they're very confused because of maybe how they passed, of what's going on.

10:12 And so there's all these different reasons why a spirit would stay closer to the earthly realm instead of kind of going into the light. But a lot of the times this will be souls that are sticking around to say goodbye to make sure their family is okay. Right? But again, this does not mean they are trapped, it does not mean they are unhappy, it does not mean they are dangerous.

10:34 It would just be the version of me that you're seeing right now that essentially is just moved into the spirit world and my stubborn ass saying, I'm not going anywhere until I'm saying 75, I'm until I'm sending 75 signs to my son and daughter to let them know I'm still with them. Right? And this is really interesting because this probably is again the majority I think of the souls that we might encounter in more of a ghostly experience, and I can tell you that I see this all the time, all the time at my lake house because water is a portal, and there are so many different souls that I that pass through my lake house that I have met.

11:24 And every time I go there, there's another one. And it's so interesting. I try to lock it down, but honestly, they don't stick around for long. That's very transient location. But for a very long time, there was a Civil War gentleman there. He was young, I think he was like 18 or 19. I can't remember his name.

11:41 It was a while ago, but there was a Civil War gentleman that would just kind of like hang out in one of the chairs that I had every single time. One time I kicked him out of the house because I had some friends over and they were all super sensitive. And I was like, you gotta go. You can't stay here.

11:54 So he ended up like waiting at the top of the hill until everybody left. And then ended up coming back in the house once everybody left. It was really, it was really funny. He didn't talk much, but he did have one of one of my friends, hey Jess, if you're listening, he loved fucking one of my friends, he loved one of my friends.

12:11 Like as soon as she showed up to the house, that dude was right next to her the whole time. And I was like, my ghost is obsessed with you, Jess. Like he's right there the entire time. Like he would not leave her side. And so it was just really funny, right? I also had a woman, like I just I don't know why he didn't cross over.

12:31 I don't know. I'm gonna see if there's anything that pops through in this moment. He just didn't want to cross over. When there was another woman at my camp, her name was Annie. She would just hang out on my couch every time. Younger woman, I feel like she was from like the Oklahoma area. I couldn't necessarily say what time frame it felt like late late 1800s-ish, but but she was in a very, very abusive marriage.

12:56 And she did not want to cross over because she refused to go to the place where her husband was. Because I think that he had killed her. And she was just like, I'm not going where he's he is, I'm just gonna stay here forever. And I'm just like, so I had to sit down and honestly educate her about what she would see or experience on the other side as best as I could, and that if she didn't want to see him on the other side, she didn't have to see him on the other side.

13:24 And she eventually decided to kind of move into the light and face her fears. I have George in my attic. You've all seen the light that's on in my lake house all the time. George continuously comes back all the time. I feel like he watches over the house. He freaks my fucking kids out though. And then most recently, when I was walking into the lake house, there was definitely a gentleman there that had died.

13:48 He was a firefighter that died in a fire. Like I could just smell the smoke and I could feel his presence, and I could feel the smoke in his lungs. And so I had to say hello to him, and I'm like, hey, just so you know, like you're dead. You know, like, and he didn't know how I could see him or talk to him.

14:09 He was so confused. And I'm like, I you're a firefighter, you died in a fire, like I just need you to know that you that you're dead. And he's like talking to the, I can hear him talking to the other ghost, being like, How the fuck does she know that? So these are actual examples in my lake house. And it's really interesting because me for a very long time, I did not believe in this idea of ghosts, and then I got that lake house, and motherfucker, there are so many fucking ghosts there all the time.

14:37 Um, I walked in once in the middle of the winter, and there was like a very poor family that must have been from like the 1920s that were like dressed up, freezing cold, giving me like Russia, Poland type of vibes, like Eastern European types of vibes, where they were just like freaking bundled all together, so lost, so confused.

14:57 And I'm just like, this is like a circus, my lake house. So, just a few examples of the different ghosts that I have personally experienced. Again, referencing Jess again, she had a guy in her basement named Larry, talk to Larry for a while. Though up here in New England, we get so many fucking ghosts that just linger everywhere.

15:18 Absolutely, yes. Same with my incredible sister-in-law, who it's the best story. This is the best story. It's the best story because I know these people and I know how freaked out these people get. So when I, whenever I hear my sister-in-law say the story, I just start dying laughing, laughing because it's the best to me, because it's just such funny energy for these people.

15:41 But my her father was at their house watching the kids in the basement, and he heard footsteps walking down the hall. So he thought that my brother-in-law would come through come home. And so he's yelling up the stairs. He's like, hey, we're down here, we're playing in the basement together. Nothing, still hearing the footsteps.

16:00 So did you just hear that? I don't know what the fuck that was. Something just very loud fell in my room. Oh my god. I'm gonna have to replay that one on camera. So the spirit doing some physical mediumship in my room. I've been report recording podcasts all morning in social media, and I've been sitting here for hours and nothing has fallen.

16:36 And yet, right here in the middle of the podcast, I don't even know what it is. Something super loud just fell, and I fucking love spirit. God, they are so funny. And anyway, so he calls upstairs to my brother-in-law. Hey, we're home, and nothing happened. So we ended up going upstairs, and nobody was home.

16:55 It wasn't him. It was definitely the old man that lived in that house before them. So, yes, these are the things that can happen. And likewise, when you're sitting here recording a podcast on ghosts, shit is gonna fall in the room. And this is how spirit is letting you know that they're there. Okay. And so all of these really cool examples about these ghosts that are here in the earthly realm and they're still kind of roaming around until they decide to go into the light, essentially.

17:25 When do they go into the light? I think they go into the light when they realize that there's a bigger perspective, a bigger picture, maybe when they're willing to let go of their ego. But again, just like here in the physical world, in the spirit world, we also have free will. And so a lot of these souls can cross, can delay crossing over for a very long time.

17:42 And please keep in mind that time is very different in the spirit world because what might be years for us can be a mere seconds for them, or hours, like hundreds of years here can be a few hours. Time does not work the same way in the spirit world. And so I'm not surprised at all that you know, I'm seeing a civil war person, I'm seeing a woman from the 1800s, I'm seeing all of these different things because it really doesn't make a difference.

18:06 The time frame doesn't make a difference. Why did they end up near me? I have no fucking clue. Besides, water's a portal, and so they're using portals to get different places across planet Earth. Yep. Little bit off the deep end there. And so, what can you do about ghosts? What can I do about this person that just threw my fucking shit across the floor here?

18:25 You can technically kick them out. So I realize that my now my camera's freaking out. I feel like this ghost is now behind me and it's taunting me. So, like this is I don't know this person behind me. So, what you can do is essentially kick them out because even though we can't see them or feel we right, we have a very difficult time perceiving ghosts, even though they do things that bother us and might scare us, right?

18:56 We still have the domain here in the physical realm. We have more, more of a weight, more, I don't even know, we have more authority. I think that's the way that I want to put it. And I know it sounds fucking ridiculous, but we do. And so because I own this house, it is I am its steward for a little while.

19:14 I won't permanently own this house because I own the land, because I'm the steward for this property, I get to set the rules for how the property gets to behave, right? And so, or at least I get to set the rules for who's allowed in my space. And so for me, what I like to do is establish boundaries. So I will ask, and I think I got this from another podcast a long, long time ago, but it works like Chef's Kiss, is I will ask four angels to step on the corner of my properties and guard my property to make sure that only the highest and best intention spirits are allowed in.

19:51 And more specifically for me, so that's what I do at the lake house. I'm just like only the highest, best energies are allowed into the lake house yard and house, which is totally fine. But for this property, like only the souls that I know are allowed in. Only the souls that I know. Because I don't mess with shit when it comes to my family.

20:14 I realize that I am super bright in my energy. And in case you're wondering, as ghosts kind of roam around, again, it can be a little bit dark in that earthly vibration that they're in. I think they can still see, but it's pretty dark. But those of us that are light workers look like giant bonfires in the night, essentially.

20:34 And so there will be a lot of ghosts that will find their way to me because they're a little bit curious about what the fuck is this giant fireball doing in this very dark space. And so, naturally, because of the light that I am, I will attract a lot of random ghosts. I will attract souls that maybe need a little bit of help crossing over.

20:54 I do psychopomp from a shamanic perspective, which is kind of forcing the souls to cross over and go into the light. And souls will naturally come to me. And so as a result, I block out my physical space so much that again, I will see souls lined up for demonstrations in the road because they're not allowed on my property.

21:16 My daughter has a ghost friend at school who has to stay outside of the property line. So he waits for her. She loves him. I'm not messing with it. He seems okay. He's just a kid. And honestly, likewise, I had a crazy instance where one of my great uncles came by one day. I saw like a gentleman outside near my birch tree.

21:41 And he was like hiding behind the birch tree. And I'm just like, number one, how the fuck did you get on my property? I don't know you because you're not supposed to be here. And so I'm looking and I'm like, Who are you? And he said, Uncle Jimmy. And I said, Oh, I don't. I'm like, Are you fucking with me?

21:56 Because my guide's name is Jim. I'm like, are you fucking with me? He's like, No, I'm Uncle Jimmy. Jimmy. I'm like, okay, okay, Uncle Jimmy. Why don't you come in? I'll say hello to you. So I go and have a conversation with Uncle Jimmy. And I'm like, so so how's it going? How are you? Who are you? Give me some evidence of who you are.

22:14 Because just so you know, you can talk to ghosts, just the same as you can talk to mediumship. It's just a slightly different vibration. And so I'm talking to this Uncle Jimmy. I'm getting information. And I'm like, who are you? And he keeps calling himself Uncle Jimmy, Uncle Jimmy, Uncle Jimmy. And I'm like, okay.

22:29 So I'm like, thank you so much. Had the conversation. He kind of left, right? And I'm like, great. So I call my mom. And I'm like, who's Uncle Jimmy? And she's like, you're shitting me. And I was like, no, who's Uncle Jimmy? She's like, that is my uncle. But he's alive in Florida. And I'm like, but he's not because he's here.

22:54 And she's like, well, I think he's alive. So she goes and calls the relative. Sure enough, he's still fucking alive. He's he's not doing well. He's on hospice, but he's still alive. And so we're entering that living mediumship space where he had come to visit me before he died. A couple months, I think it was three months before he died, to come and like chat with me and have a conversation because he was confused and he was lost.

23:18 I don't have like again, like I don't know. His guides must have brought them to me so that I could have the convers. I don't know how these people get here. This this is above my pay grade. I do not understand. But yes, like shit like that can happen too, where they'll kind of come to you as well. So yeah, interesting stuff, right?

23:36 Ooh, this just makes me think of a second. Again, this is I hypothesis. I don't have the answer to this, but I wonder if that's what happens when we have more of those visitation dreams after somebody passes.

23:47 Is that oh, there's no Ernesto's fucking here. Ernesto validated it. What? It's fucking crazy.

23:56 I'm like, I wonder if the visitation dreams happen because these spirits are in the earthly plane and they are more able to like manipulate your dreams because they're here in the earthly plane and visit you in the dreams before they officially like cross over and go into the light. That was a little hypothesis that Ernesto just, oh, just validated right now.

24:20 Hang on, that's fucking crazy. And that makes so much sense from what I know because a lot of people who have these visitation dreams have them so soon after somebody departed to let them know I'm here, to let them know like I've made it to the other side, to let them know you don't have to worry about it.

24:37 I wonder if souls have to come to the earthly realm to like really interrupt the physical dream experience so that we remember it.

24:44 Oh, I love this. Love this.

24:47 I'm gonna have to ask more. Bring me more, bring me more, spirit. Okay, so that was the biggest bucket of definitely this ghost experience. And this is more of the traditional way that we think of ghosts. Again, nothing to be afraid of because most of us that move into the spirit world are just regular old people with their regular road old egos and their regular, regular old trauma that they have.

25:08 And so a lot of them are just kind of delaying the inevitable moving into the light, moving into and crossing over into the life review process. And so, like we can think of them just as maybe a little confused, a little stubborn about maybe delaying their journey into going into the more higher vibrations of spirit.

25:30 Happens, don't be afraid of them, don't judge them, but I do keep out the riffraff because otherwise they'd be trying to talk to me all day. And so the second bucket here, which I think is much more common than people think, are what I call these energetic echoes. Okay. This is an experience where it is actually an energetic imprint of a spirit or a circumstance or a situation.

25:55 And it's almost like it's residual energy that plays on repeat. So it's almost like this constant recording looping over and over and over and over again. And so if I give you some examples, like footsteps in an empty hallway, right? If you're getting the recurring energy in the same spot over and over and over again, that is like an energetic imprint that that happens all the time.

26:19 My friend has a very old house where she'll actually hear people come down the stairs. And it's usually the same few stairs over and over and over again, right? And so these experiences do not have a conscious energy associated with it. They do not have consciousness communicating with it. And so it's really interesting as a medium to be able to tap into those energetic echoes because when you tap into it, there's nothing there.

26:49 You're just like, I can feel it, but there's no consciousness to talk to me. There's no one that's actually there for conversation. And it's almost just like the dust, the dust and the remnants are just playing on repeat over and over and over again. How does this happen? I don't really know. Again, I don't really know.

27:07 I'm just kind of telling you what it is. But I do know that in this case where there's this energetic echo, you can actually, this is where Sage and Palo Santo are doing sound healing or energetic clearing. This is what removes a lot of those residual impressions. Okay. So, so again, sending the intention to remove any energetic imprints that are no longer for the highest and best good.

27:32 And so you're not actually clearing a spirit, you're clearing an energetic echo or an energetic imprint in this space. And this is no different, for example, than let's just give an example where let's say you have your corporate job, and every single day you come walking through the door and you're fucking pissed.

27:53 You're like, I fucking hate this job, hate my boss. It's a dumpster fire, don't want to be here. And every single day when you come in through the same door, every day over and over and over again, that energy compounds on itself to the point where it creates this thickness, this very sharp, low vibration energy over and over and over again.

28:12 So if the same experience happens in the same spot over and over and over again, then those energetic imprints get layered onto each other so tightly that they get really dense and it gets very tangible. And then it might happen that even on the weekends, when you walk through that door, you now experience that negative heavy energy, and you're just like, ugh, every time you walk through that door now.

28:34 So that's kind of how these energetic echoes will happen. Again, is just the repeated energy over time that is not cleared or removed. And so what you would need to do is clear out the energy. Again, Paulo Santo, sound healing, etc. And I honestly would probably bring in the reverse energy of like lightness and joy and happiness into that space.

28:57 I would do some Reiki or energetic infusion to kind of balance the polarity of the energy that you're experiencing there to bring up the vibration so that you actually are walking through with love instead of walking through with frustration and allowing that energetic imprint essentially to balance itself out.

29:19 So that's exact exactly how these energetic echoes will happen. Thank you for spirit for kind of explaining that to me. And then also, kind of like both of these things together, number one, where these ghosts can be here, and number two, where we have these energetic echoes, this is actually where I bring a lot of the combination into the energy of the land.

29:44 Okay. And so, because the land, just like we're saying these energetic imprints, like the land holds history, a location holds the energy. And so I love this in a recent class that I had with my mediumship students, where we were talking about, for example, Gettysburg, right? And Gettysburg, obviously, people go there, people feel it, people feel the apparitions.

30:05 Like there's a lot of energy in places that have had like major battles, like Gettysburg, right? And so, very similarly, where you're gonna have this energetic imprint because of all of the activity that went there, all of the war that went there, all of the death that went there, right? And like, and as you think about this energy that was there in that moment, it was a lot of fucking energy, right?

30:28 And so you can think about the energy of the event is almost, I hate this example, but it's almost like dead skin. It kind of comes off and it gets settled into the land there. And then as people are going there generations and generations after to visit Gettysburg and to experience and to see, it's almost like that energy gets amplified over and over and over again because now we're all expecting it to look and feel that way.

30:54 Right. And we're adding more layers of the experience on top of it. And so the land itself is holding the energy of the event and of the generations that are honoring the event afterwards. And in addition, you bet your ass that there are ghosts in Gettysburg that are wandering the land. So now you get kind of like this double whammy that goes together.

31:21 And I think this is why a lot of people will go to these sites like Gettysburg, like Pearl Harbor, like all these other different places, and you can feel it so much that you actually get visual like visibly or like actually sick in your body. And I think this is why is because the energy is so intense and so palpable because you not only have the energy imprints from the land, but you also have the energy imprints from the souls who are still kind of walking in that space as well.

31:50 Yeah, it's so interesting. So those are a few examples of it. And then I wanted to just like dip my tiny little pinky toe, not to freak you out, not to go conspiracy theory on all of you, but I want to be honest with other things that I've seen and experienced that are not actually, I'm gonna say more human-based souls when it comes to these energetic ghosts that might be around us.

32:19 And like to be clear, yes, there can be pets that are around us, absolutely, like birds, fish, like you name it, right? But then what is interesting is I've actually seen more of these international interdimensional beings, especially as I'm clearing out houses as well. So essentially things that aren't human or aren't pets or aren't part of our human reality.

32:45 And some of the things that I've seen are definitely more, they can be more earth-based with elemental spirits, such as yes, fairies are real, like yes, gnomes are real, right? Sprites, etc. So I have seen more of these like earth-based spirits. Not often, but I have seen them quite quite enough that I know that they're real and they're out there for sure.

33:07 Again, they're more of an exception, not the rule. And then, like, to be honest with you, yes, I have seen more quote-unquote alien-like beings in house clearings as well. And I don't tell my clients this, like, not at all, because again, it tends to be the exception, not the rule. But I have seen some nasty looking entities that kind of hole up in corners, in closets, in dark places where the energy tends to be more stagnant anyway.

33:42 And they, I think they just really love staying in this like stagnant energy. So that's why when we're talking about clearing out the energy of your house using, for example, Sage and Paulo Santo, they tell you to get the corners, they tell you to get the closets, they tell you to get the spaces where actually stagnant energy sits because that can attract some of the kind of the more interdimensional beings.

34:10 Again, like this is definitely off the deep end. This is on the woo corner side of the house. So I really don't tell most people at all that that's what I see or experience, but I will tell you that I have seen and experienced those things as well. And again, we have all been conditioned to interpret these unfamiliar spiritual experiences through fear, especially because we don't know what we can see.

34:39 Like we don't know what's out there, and a lot of it is outside the depth of our own perception. And so for me, it's really important that we start to educate a little bit more about what are these different things so that we're not afraid of them. Because a ghost sticking around isn't necessarily somebody that is here to do you harm.

34:57 They might just be stubborn people that are waiting for their family and you're just noticing that they're coming into your space a little bit, right? And you can politely ask them to leave and they will leave, right? They might be an energetic echo of an argument of somebody that maybe lived in your house before you, and you just need to clear it up through energetic vibrational clearing, right?

35:20 You might be experiencing, you know, energy on a land that is just meant to be, I don't know, just like respected because there is, you know, shamanic ways that you can clear the energy of a land, absolutely. And I'm gonna have a really, really interesting, oh my God, Rayel on the podcast. I think it's next week.

35:39 And you're gonna learn all about like how she kind of understands the energy of the land and how she reads it and how she uses like her connection with spirit to rebalance a lot of the energy in the land. So it just means that the land needs a little bit of clearing or rebalancing as well. And then also just noting that, you know, you we're not the only one in this energetic space, right?

36:00 Because sometimes it is, it's us, sometimes it's elemental spirits, sometimes it's interdimensional spirits, right? And none of this is necessarily anything to be afraid of because we still have free will and sovereignty over our experience, over our physical space. And so we get to establish boundaries.

36:19 We get to choose who gets to come into that space. We get to choose whether to engage in these spirits, these souls, and you get to decide how you want to respond to them. Because again, you know, you might be able to send this amazing spirit love like I have with the people at my lake house because I want them to be able to have a respite to kind of just come to terms with whatever their human experience was and give themselves grace and love enough to kind of find their way into the light.

36:47 Right. And it's not me pushing them, it's not me forcing them into the light, it's just allowing them to kind of come to that conclusion themselves, right? It's understanding that, again, that energetic echo was never anything you needed to worry about to begin with, right? It's understanding that you don't necessarily have to engage with some of these souls if you don't want to.

37:08 And so if we've been using that one word ghost to describe these very vast experiences that are dealt with so differently as well, you can start to understand all of the different phenomena that you have and what you experience. And once you're able to start distinguishing between consciousness and imprints and location and land and then these non-human presences, then you can start to approach them with more understanding and less fear and honestly more fucking fun because it's really fun.

37:43 I really, I really thoroughly enjoy it. And this is why I'm personally not afraid to do any of the haunted house shit, the paranormal shit, because I know how to energetically protect myself. I know when it's a ghost versus when it's an echo versus when it's maybe something else that I don't want to have a conversation with.

38:04 And and having that knowledge is so empowering in the way that I live my life up here in haunted ass New England. Okay. And so when people are asking me to clear houses, I'm like, let's fucking go. Because a lot of the times it's not that I actually have to clear the house, it's that I have to have a conversation with the soul to be like, what do you want this person to know?

38:27 Why are you here? Let's figure that out and then let's clear the space so that it becomes a better experience for the person living there. So the next time that somebody tells you that their house is haunted, I really want you to remember that there's a lot of different possibilities behind that experience because sometimes it might be a spirit, sometimes it might be this energetic echo, sometimes it's the land that has all of these hundreds of stories associated with it.

38:55 And then sometimes it might be something completely different. And so, whatever you're experiencing, you don't have to immediately assume that there is something to fear. You can actually approach it with curiosity, with discernment, with understanding and make a conscious choice in how you want to respond to it.

39:14 And so pay attention for you. Pay attention in your space. If you have shit that drops in the middle of the day, right? You can start to discern if you have footsteps in your hallway, right? If you're feeling goosebumps as you're walking down a path every single time, like pay attention and figure out does it feel like there's a consciousness?

39:33 Does it feel like there's an echo? Does it feel like there's something that's not even human there? Right? And this is part of the fun of spooky season is that all of these things are so close because the veil is so thin. And so I would love to hear any ghost stories that you have. Add them to the lab, add them to my DMs, my messages.

39:52 I would love to read your spooky stories. And I'm just so excited. And I hope this episode was so helpful for you to gain a better perspective on what actually is a ghost versus what is an energetic imprint. And this is so funny to me as I'm recalling back to my Dining with the Dead event, because not all of the ghosts that they were trying to uncover in that experience, in this location, this very historic location near me, were actually spirits that had to do anything with that house.

40:24 Right. And this is what the paranormal activity bullshit is is that yes, we all have ghosts that can light up a dead bell, that can light up the paranormal activities. But until you can actually have the conversation with the spirit or consciousness or echo to understand what it is you're connecting with, is it actually related to the thing that you think it's related to?
