From the St. Ignatius Chapel at the Manresa Jesuit Spiritual Renewal Center in Pickering, Ontario. The National Catholic Broadcasting Council presents the Daily TV Mass.

Welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass. I am Father Vijay Amir Taraj. The televising of this Mass is made possible by the contribution from the estate of Josephine Mary Campanella of Burlington, Ontario. This Mass is offered for the repose of the souls of Josephine and her husband James Joseph Campanella, and for the living and deceased members of their family.

May their souls and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. And with your spirit. Sisters and brothers, as we gather in prayer and to be nourished by our Eucharistic Lord, we seek God's mercy and forgiveness for our sins.

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord have mercy. You came to call sinners. You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. Lord have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Let us pray. May your grace, O Lord, we pray at all times go before us and follow after, and make us always determined to carry out good works.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.

A reading from the letter of Paul to the Galatians. You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly exhibited as crucified. The only thing I want to learn from you is this. Did you receive the Spirit by doing the works of the law or by believing what you heard?

Are you so foolish? Having started with the Spirit, are you now ending with the flesh? Did you experience so much for nothing if it really was for nothing? Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by doing the works of the law or by believing what you heard? The Word of the Lord.

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who has come to his people. The Lord God has raised us a mighty savior for us in the house of his servant, David, as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophet from of all. God swore that we would be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hated us.

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who has come to his people, hallelujah, alleluya, Hallelujah, Aleluya, Hallelujah. Open our hearts, O Lord, to listen to the words of your Son Alleluia, Hallelujah, Hallelujah.

And with your spirit.

For a friend of mine has arrived, and I have nothing to set before him. And he answers from within, Do not bother me. The door has already been locked, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything. I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything, because he is his friend, at least because of his persistence he will get up and give him whatever he needs.

So I say to you, ask and it will be given you. Search and you will find. Suddenly a crow came and said on the window. The father asked his son, What is this? The son replied, It is a crow. And after a few minutes, the father asked his son a second time, What is this? The son said, Dad, I just told you it's a crow.

After a little while, the old father again asked his son the third time, What is this? At this time the son was irritated and he said to his father with a rebuff, it is a crow, a crow, a crow. A little after the father again asked the son the fourth time, What is this? This time the son shouted at his father, Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again, although I have told you so many times it's a crow?

A little later the father went to his room and came back with an old tattered diary, which he had maintained from the birth of his son. And opening a page, he asked his son to read a page. And when the son read it, the following words were written. Today, my little son, aged three, was sitting with me on the sofa when a crow came and said on the window.

My son asked me twenty three times what it was, and I replied to him twenty-three times that it was a crow. I hugged him lovingly each time he asked me the same question twenty-three times again and again. I did not at all feel irritated. I rather felt affection for my innocent child. After a couple of minutes of silence, the son got up and with tears in his eyes hugged his father.

Now, sisters and brothers, our readings today speak of a kind, compassionate, and patient love of God the Father for each one of us. God is love, as we read in the scriptures, and God cannot stop loving us because that is God's nature and the nature of God's relationship with us. However, our story is different.

We easily become impatient like the Son in the story. We waver in our love for God like the Galatians in today's first reading. And we don't want to be bothered like the friend in today's gospel parable. The point that Jesus makes through the parable of a friend is this if a grumpy neighbor will listen to an inconvenient request, how much more will a loving God pay heed to the needs of his children?

And continuing on the same point, Jesus says that even if a very ordinary father would not think of treating his children coloursly, how much more for God who is a father of all? Therefore, we must ask and seek and knock with confidence in our loving God and to do it always with persistence. Sisters and brothers, the reality is that sometimes we pray and nothing seems to happen.

We ask, but the door seems closed. We knock, but there is only silence. We may wonder in those moments, does God hear me? Does God care for me? Why hasn't my prayer been answered? Jesus says, even in those moments, keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. In a world where we are equipped with so many high-deck resources for instant communication, in a world where we change brand so quickly, and in a world where we seek instant gratification, patience in prayer does not come easy.

Persistence in prayer does not come easy. Yet, as beloved children of God who loves us deeply, we are called to develop these habits. But we must also understand here that the purpose of prayer is not to inform God of so much that what we want, because God is all-knowing. God knows our needs. Rather, prayer changes us, changes our attitude.

Persistent prayer deepens our trust, it purifies our desires, and it teaches us to place our lives in the hands of God. One of the seven petitions of the beautiful prayer our Father is, Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. This is a truly beautiful petition that requires not only an ongoing persistence, but also a deeper trust in God and in God's ways for us.

So today, let us know that we are loved and cared by our beloved Father. And let us approach him always with confidence and with persistence. And now with trust and faith in our God, we offer our prayers. For all those in our daily TV Mass Prayer Intentions book, we pray to the Lord. Let us pray that during this month of the Rosary, families may gather in prayer, finding in it a source of strength, unity, and love for their daily lives.

We pray to the Lord. And for all of us celebrating this Mass, that we may be patient and persistent in our prayer life. We pray to the Lord. For all those who feel abandoned by God, that they may experience the nearness of God. We pray to the Lord. Almighty God our Father, we lift up these prayers with trust, answer them through Christ our Lord.

Amen Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you, fruit of the earth and work of human hands. It will become for us our spiritual food. For through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you, the fruit of the wine and work of human hands.

It will become for us our spiritual drink.

Blessed be God forever. For our good and the good of all Lord's Holy Church.

Accept, O Lord, the prayers of your faithful with the sacrificial offerings, that through these acts of devotedness, we may pass over to the glory of heaven through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you and with your spirit. Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just it is truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks, Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God. For just as through your beloved Son, you created the human race, so also through him with great goodness you formed it anew.

And so it is right that all your creatures serve you, all the redeemed praise you, and all your saints with one heart bless you. Therefore, we too extol you with all the angels, as in joyful celebration we acclaim.

Hostana in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, Hostana in the heart.

You are indeed holy, O Lord, the found of all holiness. Make holy therefore these gifts we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dew fall, so that they may become for us the body and the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion.

He took bread and giving thanks broke it, and he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Do this in memory of me. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the challenge of salvation, giving thanks that you have less worthy to be in your presence. And minister to you. Humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo, our Pope, and Francis, our bishop, and all the clergy and the people you have gathered. Remember also all our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection.

And all who have died in your mercy, welcome them into the light of your face and have mercy on us all. We pray that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with the Blessed Joseph, our spouse, with the apostles, and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to become heirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son Jesus Christ.

Through him and with him and in him. O God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.

Amen.

On earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stay our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil, and graciously grant peace in our days. That by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Lord Jesus Christ, you set your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. The peace of the Lord be with you always.

And with your spirit.

Behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord my Lord.

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever. Amen.

The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. May Almighty God bless you, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Go forth, the Mass is ended.

Thanks be to God.

Our thanks to our donors for the gift of this Mass.

We have some.
