From the St. Ignatius Chapel at the Manresa Jesuit Spiritual Renewal Center in Pickering, Ontario. The National Catholic Broadcasting Council presents the Daily TV Mass.

Welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass. I'm Father Peter Turona. The televising of this Mass is made possible by the contribution from Joseph Augustine from London, Ontario. This Mass is offered in loving memory of his beloved wife Alice, their son Tony, their parents, Anthony and Mary Pinto, Joseph Augustine and Mary Cuddy, and Alice's brother Benjamin Joachim Pinto.

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

And with your Spirit.

Brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries. I confess to Almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do. Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault.

Therefore I ask Blessed Mary, ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen. Lord have mercy.

Lord have mercy.

Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.

Lord have mercy.

Let us pray. For forth we beseech thee, O Lord, your grace into our hearts, that we to whom the incarnation of Christ your Son was made known by the message of an angel, may through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, by his passion and cross, be brought to the glory of his resurrection, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.

Amen.

A reading from the letter of Paul to the Galatians. Fourteen years after I visited Syria and Cilicia, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along with me. I went up in response to a revelation. Then I laid before those in Jerusalem, although only in private meetings with the acknowledged leaders, the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles in order to make sure that I was not running or had not run in vain.

On the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel for the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel for the circumcised, for he worked through Peter, making him an apostle to the circumcised, also worked through me and sending me to the Gentiles. And when James and Cephas and John, who were acknowledged pillars, recognized the grace that had been given to me, they gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, agreeing that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

They asked only one thing that we remember the poor, which was actually what I was eager to do. But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his faith, because he stood self-condemned. For until certain people came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But after they came, he drew back and kept himself separate for fear of the circumcision of action.

And the other Jews joined him in this hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy. But when I saw that they were not acting consistently with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews with the word of the Lord?

Praise the Lord E nation Ex tall and God For Greatest Lord And the faithfulness of a Lord and yours forever and God Hallelujah. You have reached the spirit which makes us good children. And in that spirit we call God our father.

And with your spirit.

The Gospel of the Lord.

Praise you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus was praying in a certain place, and after he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray as John taught his disciples. So Christians from the beginning have prayed, the Our Father. This is the one prayer that Jesus gave to each and every one of us. And this beautiful prayer reminds us that we all share God as a common father.

So when I was reflecting upon this scene where Jesus is praying and the disciples are watching him, so we can see somebody praying, and we perhaps we can just look at them and kind of move on. But have you ever had that experience when you've seen somebody really, really praying, and you felt like their whole being was involved in what they were doing, that they were communion with God?

So this is what they see. The disciples see Jesus. So even though he's in complete and total union with the Father, he is turning to the Father periodically to pray. And he gives them this beautiful prayer as a reminder that God is our Father. God is our Father, He is holy. We ask that His kingdom be done on earth, that His will be done, that He provides for our daily needs, and in the midst of providing for our daily needs, that we receive what is so important, which is forgiveness for our sins and the grace to be able to forgive other people and to ask for strength, to be able to be faithful to the will of God, as we've come, we've come to understand in our lives, so that when temptation comes,

which it always will, that God will give us the strength to be able to overcome it and to endure it. Today is also the memorial of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. So many Catholics have rosaries. Oftentimes they're hanging off the like in the in the card they have there, which is fine. You know, they have it there as a reminder, but it's a really important thing to do is to actually take the rosary and to pray it.

Why is that? Well, first off, the foundational prayer of the rosary is the Apostles' Creed. So what we're doing is we are praying, we are stating our faith, the faith that has been handed on to us by God, given to us through the apostles. So that is the foundation of our prayer. And then we have the Our Father, the prayer that Jesus just taught us and that we heard proclaimed in the gospel.

So it's a reminder that we have God as a common father, and then when we're praying, we're praying within the body of Christ, within the mystical body. So all of us united through our common baptism, where we're praying, and we're praying not only for ourselves, but we're praying on behalf of all of the church and all of humanity as well.

And we're pleading with God for grace, for strength, for peace, for discernment. And then after the Our Father, we have the Hail Mary prayer. So, in the same way that we learn the Our Father, that's the first prayer that's given to us, we learn the Hail Mary. And the Hail Mary is an incredibly important biblical prayer because we are taking the words from Scripture, from the gospel according to Luke, and we're praying those words.

And we're praying to Mary, and we're praying with Mary to God, to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, as we say these prayers, again, always asking God for grace, for peace, discernment, and also for strength in the midst of our lives. And this prayer is really the gospel. Because what are we doing when we reflect on the life of God?

We're praying, we have the so we have the joyful mysteries, so we have the incarnation, the early life of Jesus, and then we have the luminous mysteries that was introduced by St. John Paul II. The luminous mysteries is when we look at the public ministry of Christ. Then we have the sorrowful mysteries, the sorrowful mysteries, we look at Jesus in the midst of his suffering, what our Lord has done for us, and then after the sorrowful mysteries, then what we have is the glorious mysteries.

So the resurrection of Jesus, sending, calling forth his disciples, sending them, the birth of the church. And then we have Mary's assumption, and then we have her coronation and reminding us of our ultimate destiny. So all of that, the gospel is found in these simple prayers. And I remember I would see my grandparents, so my dad's parents, when I used to go to Italy and visit them in the summer, and I they always had the rosary on them, always.

They had the Bible in one hand and the rosary in the other. But with the rosary in their hand, they were meditating on the scriptures. So everywhere they went, they had the rosary in their hands. At night, when I'd go to bed and I'd have to cross to their bedroom, my grandparents would have a little light on with the rosary in their hands.

They were constantly praying. And again, to see the way they were praying, like many beautiful people that come into our church and they're there praying the rosary with a lot of love and devotion. They're begging God and they're begging our common father. They're begging our Lord and Savior Jesus. They're asking the Virgin Mary.

They're saying, please help us, help us in this situation. Thank you for your many blessings. Help us to learn how to really pray. Help us to learn how to seek the will of God. Help us to be faithful to the will of God in the midst of the challenges. And we can see this. I saw it in my own family. You can see it in the lives of the saints.

St. John Paul II, he said that after the Mass, obviously he said he loved to pray the rosary. Why? It was because Mary teaches us, the Virgin Mary teaches us how to love God, how to live our lives according to the will of God, how to live with peace and hope, and also how to proclaim the good news. There's so many graces that are attached to this simple yet very powerful devotion.

Our Lady appears in Fatima. She says, Pray the rosary in Lourdes. She's holding the rosary in her hand. So all of this is there, again, always pointing back to Christ. Even the Hail Mary itself. There's the scripture, and then there's the biblical intercession. So we're asking for her help. But in the middle is the name of Jesus when we bow our heads.

So this beautiful prayer has God at its center. Jesus is in the middle, right? His name is glorified in the middle of the Hail Mary prayer. So this is what we do. This is why we pray, and this is why we give also rosaries to people. Again, it's a way of coming together with God, with Mary, to pray to God.

And another really beautiful thing about praying the rosary is that Jesus said, wherever there's two or more people together, I am present. So you can say, okay, I'm by myself, I'm in the car, you know, traffic is bad as it always is in Toronto, and whatever is going on in your life, and it's very easy to get overwhelmed by certain things.

There's so much bad news going on. We don't know what we can do. Grab the rosary. When we pray with Mary to God, there are two of us. Where two or more are present, God is present there. So God has given us this great gift. Again, if you have it hanging again from your from the River Mir, that's fine.

But it's also good to pray it every day. We come together, we pray to our Father, God, our Father, who loves us so much, and because we have Him as a Father, we also have Mary as a mother. And her role, her desire is that God be glorified. And we can glorify God by the simple recitation, but also the heartfelt recitation of the Rosary.

Let us now turn to our Heavenly Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, praying through the intercession of the Virgin Mary on behalf of the needs of the whole world. For the Holy Catholic Church, as it continues to speak out against all that would destroy human dignity, we pray to the Lord.

Lord, hear our prayer.

For all of those in our daily TV Mass Prayer Intentions book, we pray to the Lord.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray that during this month of the Rosary, families may gather in prayer, finding in it a source of strength, unity, and love for their daily lives. We pray to the Lord.

Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray also for the rediscovery of the Rosary and its importance in the devotional life of Christians, all Christians. For this we pray to the Lord.

Lord, hear our prayer.

God of heaven and earth, you reward those with clean hands and pure hearts. In our unworthiness, we bring our prayers to you through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you, the fruit of the earth and the work of human hands, will become for us the bread of life.

Blessed be God forever.

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you. The fruit of the vine, a work of human hands, will become our spiritual drink.

Blessed be God forever.

Wash my Lord in my inequities, cleanse me from all my sins.

Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.

May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name. Our good and the good of all this holy church.

Grant, we pray, O Lord, that we may be rightly conformed to these offerings we bring, and so honor the mysteries of your only begotten Son, as to be made worthy of his promises, who lives and reigns forever and ever.

Amen.

The Lord be with you.

And with your spirit.

Lift up your hearts.

Lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just truly right and just. Our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks. Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God, and to praise, bless, and glorify your name in veneration of the Blessed Ever Virgin Mary. For by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit, she conceived her only begotten Son, and without losing the glory of virginity, brought forth into the world the eternal light, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Through him the angels praise your majesty, dominions, adore, and powers tremble before you. Heaven and the virtues of heaven and the blessed Seraphim worship together with exaltation. May our voices we pray join with theirs in humble praise as we acclaim.

Holy Holy Holy Lord, come on, glory, Hosanna. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna and the holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts we pray, by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion. He took bread and giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.

In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it. For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins.

Do this in memory of me. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister it to you. Humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world, and bring it to the fullness of charity, together with Leo our Pope and Francis, our bishop, and all the clergy. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy.

Welcome them into the light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, of the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph, our spouse, with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages. We may merit to be co heirs to eternal life. I may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through him and with him and in him. O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever. At the Savior's command, informed by divine teaching, we dare to say, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Now and forever.

Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of our church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen. The peace of the Lord be with you always. And with your spirit.

Let us offer each other the sign of peace. Peace.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world. Grantas peace.

Behold him who takes away the sins of the world.

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever. Amen.

The Lord be with you.

And with your Spirit.

May Almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Go in peace.

Thanks be to God.
