Shownotes
Halloween comes to Sacred Heart Hospital, which means Donald is dressing up, finding the gays with the best candy, and busting a move. In this week’s episode, Zach and Donald are joined by fan favorite Ava Bunn (Dr. Sam Tosh) and newcomer John Higgins, who plays Grant, the intern. Together, this fabulous foursome recount Zach's daring and possibly life-threatening turn as Mary Poppins. They ponder the glory that would be Donald with hair. Plus, Grant details the wild world of SNL censors, while Ava teases a character we might see in the not-too-distant future.

Welcome to the program for the first time, Mr. John Higgins. It's John Higgins, everybody.
I'm so, so happy to be here, Joelle.
That's Joelle Monique. And Joelle Monique, you remember Ava Bunn?
Hi, Joelle.
Of course.
Hi, Ganeva.
Lovely to see you.
Hi.
Ava, you wanted to wear, you mentioned that you might wear a full, what were you going to wear, a body?
A nude morph suit.
A nude morph suit.
What is that?
And explain that to the audience, for people who are listening and to me. And to me.
So it's a nude morph suit that covers your fingers and toes and just leaves out the.
Head, the face.
And it kind of just makes you look like a fetus?
Yeah, it just kind of makes you look like a fetus. But the character that I do with it is Gilroy.
Let's meet Gilroy.
I'm afraid to meet Gilroy. I want to meet Gilroy.
Gilroy.
And Gilroy is just looking for a slice of gam.
What?
Slice of gum.
I think it's good you didn't bring Gilroy because it would have been hard to sit here and have a serious, even humorous conversation with you in a full body onesie.
I would have loved it.
Gilroy might appear later.
Okay, maybe in future podcasts.
It'd be funny, like minute 30 talking to Gilroy.
You know, we should do it just all of a sudden, like without addressing it in the audience for the last like 15 minutes she's in the suit.
Switch.
She brought it.
I brought it.
It's in my car.
Did you really?
It's in my car.
Okay, this might have to happen. I was like, oh, you didn't bring it. And I was like, oh, yeah, she brought it.
I was on Rick Glassman's podcast and I brought a few different shirts because I was like, I don't know what's going to look best. You tell me what will look best. And he goes, why don't we do a thing where just without addressing it, we both switch our clothes four times.
Throughout the episode.
And I go, really? He goes, yeah. And we did that. Yeah. Four different times. We just both changed our full outfits.
Did anybody say anything?
Yeah.
In the comments, people were like, what the fuck's going on?
It's so funny.
Well, John, welcome to the show. I got to say.
Welcome. Listen, let's give the man the props he deserves. Thunderous applause.
Thunderous applause.
Thank you.
Thunderous applause, baby.
John, you are such a great addition to the show. I'm having so much fun working with you.
Me too. I am so thankful to be a part of this. It's so amazing, truly.
You can riff. For those of you who don't know, John is in a troupe called Please Don't Destroy.
Yep.
And they were on SNL as a troupe for a while. And you still tour with these guys, right?
Yeah.
Well, we've been shooting in Vancouver. I've been going back and forth to, you know, wherever we've been doing shows. And yeah, we still tour.
It's so fun working with you because you're very quick. And I love how you riff and I love doing scenes with you because we just come up with such silly shit. And some of it doesn't make it because it's bad shit. And some of it, it reminds me of when I used to work with Neil Flynn because we would just riff stuff. And some of it would be like, this is insane. And some of it would be like, well, this is not going to make the show, but it's funny. And then it would make the show.
And then people would love it. And we'd be like, wow, okay.
Yeah.
I feel that I'm having that kind of fun when you and I are doing our thing.
I feel that way about all of you guys so much. We went to that dinner, I think, for Spiller's birthday, who was one of the directors.
Our directing producer, yeah.
And we all went around, and it was like the second week I was here, and we all went around and said something nice about Spiller, and you guys have known him forever. And I didn't know what I was going to say, but then I remembered this quote, and I think of it as so true of, there's not a word yet for old friends who you just met.
And I really felt that way about you guys because you just like took me in immediately and I felt a part of this like family and it was like, thank you.
No, thank you, man. You jumped right in. You jumped into the deep end too and swam very, very easily. It was like you were born to be on this show.
And we do have to credit Uncle Bill Lawrence.
Yes.
Because Bill Lawrence is a big fan of John Higgins. I love Bill. And Bill Lawrence is a good friend to have, you guys.
Yes.
One of the most important friends you could ever have.
He's a pretty darn good friend to have. Donald and I have hitched our wagons to the Bill Lawrence cart.
Yes, I've been holding on.
Holding on tight.
I've been holding on.
But it was Bill in this season who had this idea that just the way J.D. was a thorn in Cox's side, that what if there was someone underneath J.D.? who was also, you know, was obviously a source of conflict for him, who was a thorn in his side, who kind of, in a way that would drive J.D. crazy, you know. And so not only was that seed of that character Bill's idea, but then when we started talking about people, he really championed wanting John Higgins to join the show because he finds you hilarious.
That's so amazing.
So there you go.
Thank you, Uncle Bill.
Thank you, Uncle Bill. Thank you, Uncle Bill.
Thank you, Uncle Bill.
Yeah.
Ava.
Well, Ava. What? Ava has also benefited from having Bill be a big fan of her. All right. Let's count us in, Donald.
Five, six, seven, eight.
Hey.
Welcome to episode 206, as we say in the business, or episode 6 of season 2 of The Revival.
It's Halloween. At Sacred Heart.
So I want to put out there that this episode that we've seen is to time and not cut to locked. What I saw was to time. Does that mean it's locked? Yeah.
What you saw should be 2130 and that means it's locked. Okay.
Then never mind. Okay. then never mind.
There might be things in it that aren't... Were you looking for edits on stuff?
Yeah, well, that's the thing. I get a lot of shows now, and this... A new era has unfortunately begun where Donald, as an EP, has access to early cuts of the show. And I get texts like.
Don't leave that in. You're not going.
To leave that in, are you? You're not going to leave that in. Don't take this out.
Yeah, or more often, don't take this out.
Don't take this out.
Well, this one was really funny. My first thing I wanted to say was that Rafi being death, there was another beat that had to get cut.
Yes.
But that's when Rafi walked up to an old woman and she said, and he was wearing his death costume, and she said, please not tonight. I have tickets for Les Mis.
It was so good.
And, uh, right.
And Rafi, uh, uh, see, this is something that we all laughed at on the day, but had to go for time.
Well, all right. So there's a couple of things that happened in this. It's a Halloween episode. First of all, And not only is it the Halloween episode, we learn that Grant does not like Halloween.
Yes, right off the bat.
Right away. That's one of the first things he says when he enters. I do not like Halloween. Do you see all these people dressed up around here, especially that dude in the Mario outfit? He probably doesn't have good sex with his wife. And then Turk comes in, and Turk loves Halloween.
Loves Halloween.
And he wants the Mario costume. He thinks that costume's amazing.
He hopes they have it in double X.
Right, because Turk's big.
And JD's mourning Charlie and getting coaching right away from everyone, especially Turk and Carla, saying, dude, this is the perfect holiday. There's a buffet of booty everywhere. You can get over Charlie with a mindless crush.
What is that about Halloween that it turns into that? Because when you're kids, Halloween's about, you know, do I got a really dope outfit on? But at the end of the night, someone has a really dope outfit on and everybody else has kind of lame outfits on, if you ask me.
Yeah.
Let's just keep it a buck.
Yeah.
How come Halloween has turned into that? For some reason, there's a group of people that dress really provocative.
Yeah, well, I think it's fun for people who get a chance to have permission to say, like, tonight's the night I'm going to... Yeah, I'm going to be sexy.
Do you feel this pressure to be funny on Halloween? Where it's like, I'm like, oh, God. It's like, I have to do a whole bit.
Penny!
There's Penny.
Come on in, babe.
But.
And then one.
One Halloween I thought it would be funny if I dressed up as really sexy and I was like that would be so funny because no one would expect it but then I realized.
Oh like your friends would think.
Of it they'd be like what the hell but then I realized it's not that funny it's not funny.
And cold I always feel when I see the women who are scantily clad I'm like they must be so cold.
Wait how did you realize that it wasn't funny Well, because then I was like in my bathroom. Friends tried to hook up.
Yeah, I was.
Like, wait, I was just friends here.
What?
No, I was just standing in my bathroom looking at myself like, this isn't me.
What was your costume? Yeah, what was your sexy costume?
I was going to dress up like a sexy girl.
That was my costume.
It was just like sexy girl.
That's not a.
White dress or something.
Ava, it's usually.
We should all guess. What's a sexy girl all about?
No, but I mean, Ava, it's usually a sexy.
Snow White.
Sexy Snow White.
It was just like, oh, I'll be sexy girl. Oh, and then....
And then this is what was messed up. I had a boyfriend at the time and I was like, oh, let's like... dress up as he's he's the horse and i'm the cow girl and that'll be so cute.
And he wore a full horse head like covering.
His face this is a great costume great costume.
That's good and i was a cute little cow girl and girls kept hitting on him and didn't even notice me and they just went straight and i was like you can't even see his face because he's tall.
And that's all he needed to do was tall and a horse and.
They can use their imagination like I bet there's a really hot guy under that horse head.
Yes that's what it is they put their.
Own image on them they're like a fool I was Flava Flav for Halloween what? when I was in fourth grade yeah no way And I tried to pull up the picture, but he was quick. He was in and out, so I couldn't show it.
Oh, when you met him here on Scrubs?
Yeah.
My go-to these days, because it's very easy, is Ray Gunn, the Australian female breakdancer. That's great. Because I ordered the full outfit, the Australian breakdancing uniform. I have ordered that online, and it's hanging in my closet. I never have to worry. I can always be Ray Gunn. It's perfect. All you got to do is just go like this, and people know who you are. That's good.
That'll hit hard this year because she just had a documentary.
Yeah, she just had a document about her so I say I can bring it back out.
You go hard on Halloween. Ever since I'd known you, when that first Halloween when we went to the Playboy Mansion, you dressed up as Dracula.
Dr.
Dracula, yeah.
Yeah, not Dr. Dracula, but Dracula. And that shit was fire. And then one Halloween... Well, we were newly successful.
I was newly successful. And we got invited to a Halloween party at the Playboy Mansion. I was like, I should probably put on a good costume.
Yo, one Halloween you dressed up like me, and I was so proud of you because you didn't go on blackface. Oh, come on. That's nice. I was so proud of you.
Like I would ever do that.
But, you know, some people, some dumbasses.
How did I dress up like you?
I'm going to put on blackface tonight.
How was I to you?
It's Halloween.
I was like baggy clothes and a Knicks hat. What did I wear?
No, you put on a bald cap. And this is how you... This is when.
I was like... I think the bald cap was brown.
No, it wasn't. It was white. But this is when I was like... There's times where I'm going to want to punch this motherfucker in the mouth. Because you were like, you said to me, yo, you're going to love my costume. I'm going as the douchiest person you've ever seen in your life. And you set me up for a week with that shit.
That's hilarious.
You set me up for a week. And then you walked on the set and was like, sound, this is my level. And you did my fucking bit and everything.
Oh, my God.
And I was like. This motherfucker's gonna get it one day.
I think that was just at the scrubs for a gag with you. I don't think I wore that out on the town.
No, but that was for Halloween. It was a Halloween... It.
Was a prank on you.
On Halloween.
That was funny, though.
It was funny.
Let's get back to the show. There's a buffet of booty at the hospital, and then Elliot comes in saying... Everybody come outside, and we all get very excited for the ice cream truck.
Well, we don't know that it's ice cream truck until we hear the music.
We hear the music. We get ice cream. We start dancing. We're so excited. Turk says he hopes they have the little squirrel with the bubblegum nose.
This is very much an Eddie Murphy sketch. Ice cream!
Ice cream!
Yeah.
You know the tag is on your hat. It's supposed to be?
That's the joke.
I know, but you're doing like the key and peel sketch right now. That's the joke, bro.
Okay, just checking.
Just checking.
It doesn't have a sticker.
It does have a sticker. It has a sticker and a tag.
My brother made this hat.
Oh.
That's great.
That's cool. I just wanted the audience who's listening to know that you're doing the key and peel sketch.
That's the joke, man. If I could have it in the bag, it would be in the bag.
Okay. So ice cream, ice cream. It's not an ice cream truck. It's a mobile healthcare clinic. Elliot is developing it.
And everybody doesn't like that.
Everybody leaves. And, uh, JD, I don't know where she so quickly gets a chocolate squirrel with a gumball nose. I think it's supposed to be sometime later.
It's the world of scrubs.
It's the world of scrubs. One just appears. And, um, and, and we're off, uh, we're off to the races when JD, uh. taste that gumball nose.
Well, her truck catches fire too. It's a piece of shit truck.
It does also catch fire.
Right.
She has a piece of shit truck.
Yeah, she's going to have to start from scratch. Yes, pretty much. She really bought bottom of the barrel. Yes.
But this all comes from, you know, we've been building up to this all season long where Elliot's trying to figure out what it is that she wants to do.
Yes.
And she's finally, she's finally found something. She doesn't know if it's going to work, but she's invested 100% into it. And this is something that It's very new for her, but she's trying to make her mark.
Yeah, she's looking for her lane to really make a difference. And this women's health care clinic is what it's going to be. Then we come to the first act and we learn that we've got this real jerk who is looking for his concierge doctor. He talks about how he owns an aeronautics company and he makes bombs and And Dubois says the only bombs I care about are bath bombs.
And Cox is back, and he's looking quite healthy, and J.D. is very pleased to see him, and it's because he is going to... He's a concierge doctor. He claims that he's bored, and he's going to be a concierge doctor catering to the very rich.
That is a fall, bro, for Dr. Cox, if you ask me. I know he's bored, but to me, in seeing that, And even in the beginning of it all, it was like, yo, you went from the hero... Like, it's a line that Two-Face says in Batman. You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain. And now Cox has lived long enough that his hero days are now over and he's crossed over to pretty much the dark side, the shit that fucking all of us in the hospital... Well, actually, what J.D.
Started doing in season one in the pilot, that people who work in this hospital and work their asses off saving lives look down upon as a cash grab, as a way of making a living that they don't respect as much. Particularly Cox, who said, what the hell are you doing being a concierge doctor in season one of the revival? I trained you to be better than that.
But as we're going to learn, obviously, through the episode, there's more to the story than that. He's not bored. You know, I got to say, it was fascinating. Interesting watching Johnny play sort of beta to this alpha guy because that's just not in Johnny's nature. Yeah. As a man. Even your voice cracked at that moment.
I got uncomfortable thinking about it.
No, I just remember thinking like John is very intense and his performance is going to have to be, in this character, he's going to get bossed around by another man and degraded.
Yeah.
And I was aware that it was going to help John inform playing the character because he was genuinely feeling those feelings of like, fuck this guy. And I as John's performance is so wonderful in this episode. I think it inevitably helped him because he did not like it in real life or as the character.
Yeah.
You can feel the friction.
It's really, really good. if you're on set, you feel the friction.
Yeah.
Like, even if you're disrespectful to the character in the show, it's like, I don't want to fucking get the glass that's coming my way.
When you had that in your first episode where you go, do you ever just not, do you ever just say one sentence and stop?
Yeah.
So, which is hilarious, but no one in the world of Scrubs speaks up to Cox like that. So, just Johnny, for like 25 years of playing this guy, you could see that he kind of tensed up at it. Like, Even when we were shooting it, right?
I remember. Yeah.
And I was like, dude, I didn't write it. I'm just saying mine.
I know. I felt for Higgins because he was like, nice to meet you.
I didn't write this. I'm such a fan of his.
And his face, his reaction was so real.
He didn't love it.
No, he did not.
No, I'm saying Johnny C didn't love it. Yeah, I know.
Yeah.
But that was the most quoted thing that people messaged me after that because I think it must have been surprising to see nobody's ever done that.
And here we have a whole episode where he has to be subservient to a douchebag of a man. And even when we did the table read, you could feel John just like, He started cursing. He was adding curses. He cursed.
He added. Oh, shit. Oh, God.
It's funny because for those of you who aren't in the business of doing table reads and that kind of thing, people will add a little line here or there or they might add a curse even though we know obviously there's not going to be a curse on the show. During that table read, John added like three cursors.
Yeah, fuck.
And I remember thinking like, what's going on? Like, it's one thing to add one fuck that we all know won't be in the show, but he's added a couple fucks.
Yeah, there's like three of them.
And then I went, oh, he is uncomfortable, A, and B, that's going to be good for Johnny to play.
It'll work. Yes, it'll work.
All right, good. So, what's next?
We get to the, we go to the, the, the, where, shit, the lunchroom, the cafeteria.
Yes.
That was a fucking porky pig moment for me.
We get to the lunchroom where we find out about.
Going dummy with it.
Going dummy with it. Now tell me about going dummy with it because you young folks seem to know what it was. Well, I had never heard of going dummy with it.
No, I made it up.
Well, no, that was made up. Ha ha ha. Not a thing.
Oh, but wait.
Going dumb is a thing.
But didn't you guys say that in the Bay Area there's a slang or something? I don't... Or that wasn't you guys. That was somebody else.
I don't remember.
That was someone.
One of the writers, I think, wrote in something about the Bay Area and then.
You started saying go and dummy with it.
Yeah.
And I just kind of went, go dummy with it.
Go dummy with it.
And then it turned into this whole thing. Yeah. It's really funny.
Yeah. Now, what I think is cute, sweet, as we learn, as we begin this relationship between these two. as reluctant buddies, question mark.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That she was like looking out for you.
Yeah.
Like, you're humiliating yourself.
Yes.
And I'm going to help you because this is so embarrassing for you.
I love it when characters do that. When Ava comes over, she goes, I'm trying to help you out. Like, that's... I love that. Because it's just like, oh, there's this whole backstory with them that we don't even know about that we're just learning about now. And it was like, oh, that's going to be fun.
Well, to me, this episode sort of launches that funny relationship between you two guys.
Totally.
Yeah.
That I think... the writers are clearly liking because we keep it going.
So you guys are so good together, you know, and you guys both bounce off of each other. Even when the podcast started today, you know, in the beginning, um, with the outfit that you brought. You picked her on, you know what I mean? I love Ava.
I think Ava's so funny.
Oh my God, I love you, John.
And they both come from a sketch background, so they have that in their blood, which I think, and you're both great riffers and you're funny folks.
Well, I enjoyed following this relationship, knowing that it wasn't going to become anything more than a friendship, but that's a good... Well, who knows?
We'll see.
But I feel like that's a good.
No, I'm not spilling any tea. I just think, like, I agree with you, Donald. Sorry to interrupt you, but I agree that there's no element of flirtation at all, which I like. They both have crushes on other people, but she's, like, she's helping him in a... funny, teasing way, which I find very enjoyable to watch.
Totally.
And it travels through the whole casual sex thing and all of that stuff. It's just.
Yeah, she's mean to me at the end. If you can be mean to your friend, that's how you know you're friends.
Exactly.
And it'd be okay. Yeah.
So then we cross over to the erection hot tub debate, which is really a heated discussion about whether the water displacement will be an issue. Now, What's up? You want to know the real answer?
No.
I'm guessing that the writer's room must have Googled this and gotten into a hot debate themselves.
I mean, but in the show, this debate gets like stadium size.
Well, no, it just moves to the Radisson.
Okay, so it gets fucking ballroom size.
That's one of the, it's later, but that's so funny when, when Sibby's like, oh no, no, that's, that had to move to the Radisson.
That was such a fun scene to film.
Is that going to make it? That's the question.
What?
Men and their dicks.
You know what?
We have not been flagged yet for men and their dicks. I think it's going to make it.
Oh shit.
Because she improvised that. It was so funny.
I know.
And I, I don't want to jinx it. Um, but I, uh, I have not seen an email saying you can't say men on their dicks yet.
Okay. Okay, ABC.
Okay.
Let's go.
Yeah, that was a fun scene because it was me, Sarah, Vanessa, and Stephanie.
And it was late.
Yeah, and it was like so fun. Oh, my God, the ladies.
Let's talk about Stephanie Koenig who has just joined our cast. She is really talented. In the spirit of you guys, very quick on her feet, she's a writer herself.
Very natural.
And she's so natural.
So natural.
You never feel a false moment from her. And it just, and she can just keep up with improv and she's never, uh, well, we, we, we crack each other up.
Did she know, oh, this is from another episode, but she's just been so impressive. You know what I mean? Like everybody that we brought in so far, uh, has just really, you know, I.
Love in this episode the stuff we have where JD just can't figure out how to hit on her. He's so fumbling it so bad. And the stuff with the raccoons. Again, we have raccoons, raccoons. And we were just riffing back and forth and making that so cringe. And we also have the saxophonist from The Lost Boys.
Which I love. Which I loved. I used to love that.
I still believe. I don't want to cry. I don't want to cry. I don't want to cry.
Now, Joelle, did you know Lost Boys as well as Donald does?
Lost Boys is a slightly older canon. I'm familiar with it, but I know the saxophone guy from Memes.
He's very popular.
I wonder if that song's in the Broadway show.
I saw the Broadway show.
It seems like we have to.
I saw the Broadway show.
I still believe in the Broadway show.
I honestly don't remember. I think there is a sexy saxophonist. I don't know if he has a dog collar and wearing that crazy outfit.
With the biker shorts.
Yeah. Now, this guy, Tim, what's his real name? Oh, Joelle, will you look that up for me, please? It is Tim something. I'm sorry. We'll correct it. But he brought the dog collar thing that he wore in Lost Boys.
Yes. Capello?
Yeah, Tim Capello. Thank you. He's a famous saxophonist, but I believe his most famous thing of all time was being the saxophonist in Lost Boys.
That is, I think that's where everybody, I mean, if you're a real jazz fan, you probably know him otherwise.
I think he was in... Someone else's famous... Joel, can you look it up? He plays with a lot of famous artists. I know that. Obviously, he's an incredible saxophonist. Rock, rock.
A rock saxophone. I bet you he does jazz. I bet you he does all that.
Go ahead, Joel.
Tim used to play in between Billy Crystal's sets. He was also a saxophonist for Peter Gabriel. Oh!
You know who Peter Gabriel is? Yes! Or name a song.
Um....
Look up for anybody else, Jewel.
Okay, he performed on the 1993 soundtrack album What's Love Got to Do With It.
That's what I was looking for.
I was looking for Tina Turner. I remember there was a famous artist. It was Tina Turner. Okay, so J.D. 's really fumbling hitting on Cassie. And then we cut to Turk, who can't wait to trick-or-treat. He is so excited. He's made a map and he's circled all the gays.
Right, because gays give out the best candy, as we all know.
Is that an as we all know?
I didn't know it was a thing. Gays?
They celebrate Halloween.
Go ahead, Joelle. You know better than that. You're on it. You're facts.
The gays just do Halloween better. And I think, too, if you're in a smaller town with notable gays. I grew up in a town where the mayor was gay and we had music teachers who were gays. And they, like, Halloween was a big event. The candy was hitting. I find this very true.
The candy was hitting. And Michael James Scott agreed. He said that, yes, the gays go take Halloween very seriously.
I can just throw one example into the fire and everybody will agree. Let's just talk parade. Right, around Halloween.
Right.
Yes.
That West Hollywood parade is one of the.
Yes, and in New York City, too.
Oh, duh. Yeah.
That shit is out of control. I think they go dummy with it.
They go dummy with it. They go dummy with it.
So Turk doesn't see the little girl that can't trick-or-treat.
Because she's sick in the hospital.
Her name is Tessa, and she's bummed, and Carla's like, stop talking about trick-or-treating.
But Turk is so excited that he's going to take his daughter trick-or-treating- Uh, he's going to take Nora, his daughter trick or treating. And so he, when he sees the little girl, he, he doesn't apologize. He just says hello.
But she does a very cute head shake when Carla says she thinks it's appropriate. She helps him out.
So cute.
Do you think it's appropriate to circle all the gays? And she's like, mm-mm.
Don't you do it.
That little girl was wonderful, by the way.
Yeah, she was great. Yes, what was her name? That's the question.
I forgot her name, and I'm so sorry.
Okay, well, cut me asking that, Joelle.
But she was so talented and adorable. And we were giving her lines on the day, and she just kept riffing them perfectly.
Yeah.
She was very talented.
Aw.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Then, all right, so Cox tells Rick, it's very important you have to take the meds for your kidney transplant.
Well, we skipped some stuff.
Okay.
Didn't we?
Well, I think I'm going in order, but you go ahead.
I thought we skipped the fact that you don't, Cox doesn't know how to.
Oh, no, we didn't. That's coming right up. So Cox tells Rick that he has to take the meds or he's going to mess up his kidney transplant. And Rick is very dismissive and says, you call my wife, all these things. And Cox goes to JD and he says, please, how do you deal with this? How do you kiss ass? Like, I don't know how to do it. It's not in my blood, which is so true for Cox and Johnny C. McKinley.
I love the way that's written also, because the way it's written is Cox goes to you for help, goes to JD for help. And he's angry because of the way he was treated. So he immediately throws it on to JD. How do you, how do you, Act like someone's little bitch.
Yeah.
And because he's so angry at what just happened to him. And so he insults JD. But JD does exactly what Cox can't do and looks at that and tries to find the heart in it or the. that know that it's coming from love or something like that. And Cox is like, that. How the fuck do you do that? That's what I'm talking about right there. I'm not necessarily, I was mad, I called you a bitch, I'm sorry, but how the fuck do you do that? Because I don't have that in me.
Yeah, well, JD's saying, hey, I'm going to sing a little song for you in the spirit of Mary Poppins.
Oh my gosh.
And this was really fun to do. I haven't done a lot of stunts for Scrubs where I could literally legitimately die.
Yeah.
And this one, if things had gone awry, I remember.
Thinking, I do want to make America laugh, but I also don't want to die.
Yeah. And I was.
Dangling from 40 feet in the air in a Mary Poppins costume. Literally... just hanging there going, I mean, I'm sure these guys know what they're doing.
I mean, they do all the time. You were pretty high up, yes.
Johnny C was like, I would never. I was like, that's not helping. That's not helping, Johnny.
Did you ever tip?
No.
We've been doing a lot of flying this season and rigging of things. And we always have the same guys and I trust them. They really seem like they know what they're doing. But it is still fucking scary to be dangling 40 feet in the air with solely... a cable that's as thin as that tied to your waist. But it was really, they did a great job, and I thought it was really funny. The song I thought was really cute and funny.
Yeah, be the bitch for the rich.
And then on the day, we had this idea in the spirit, I think this may have been your idea, the 2D, so we had a, as you remember in Mary Poppins, there's all those 2D animated animals. And was it your idea that said we should do a 2D animated rowdy that comes.
Up And it tries to sing along.
And so we're having that animated. And then I did it on the day just to give us like the idea of it. But then I thought, oh, it'd be way funnier if it's Michael James Scott.
Right.
And then he did it so campy. He's like, rough, rough, rough, rough, rough.
So.
There you go. By the time the audience sees it, you guys haven't seen it with all the VFX done, it'll be like birds swarming around and leaves, and it'll look really good. It'll look great.
Very popping-ass.
Sidney has... Sibby has been kidnapped multiple times.
Now, this is.
Okay.
Go ahead. What's your problem with it?
I remember you saying this, and I've said this a couple of times, but the 70s and 80s were a different time. And for some reason, I remember being kidnapped too.
I remember being kidnapped.
Yeah, I know.
You said this once too, bro.
Like in real life?
Yeah, man.
I have a story in my life that I just don't have. I don't know if you guys have anything like this in your life where you have absolutely no idea if it really happened or not. I'm literally 50-50 on it. And I wasn't kidnapped. It was a kidnapping attempt. Oh, shit. Again, I really don't know, honestly. In my mind, I have a very specific memory of this happening. But at this age, I look back and go, it could have been a dream.
And I remember it. My parents don't remember it. But I was at a very short version of it. I was at a friend's house. A woman pulled up in a station wagon. She had other kids in the car. And she said, your mom wanted me to come pick you up. And I said, I don't know you. I'm not getting in the car. And I said to the people I was with, I don't know her. And she eventually gave up and left. And when I went home to my parents, I was like, I told them and they were like, we didn't tell anybody to come pick you up.
Wow.
Okay.
So my dream, it's definitely a dream, but my dream is that I got kidnapped and they pulled up in a white van and they kept me for a while. And I think, you know, when I saw, and this is crazy because when you see big, this motherfucker runs away from home and tells his mom pretty much that he's been kidnapped. And she's like, Well, when you get bringing the kid home, when you bring him home, like he calls her. Yeah. Listen, I'm going to bring him home soon. Don't worry. Pretty much in the fucking movie.
And in my mind, I was like, that shit feels like that happened to me at one point. Now, I know it didn't, but I dreamt at some point that I got pulled in the van.
I honestly, I honestly have no idea if mine really happened or is a dream. It's a very specific, detailed memory.
Did your parents remember you coming home and saying that?
No, I don't think they have any recall of it, which feels like if it was real, they would remember. But I don't know. I don't mean to dwell on it. It's just so trippy that it's one of the few things in my life that's crazy that I don't have a definitive answer on.
And then Sibby says it.
Well, Sibby, I don't think this was written that she was kidnapped. I think it was written that she keeps getting hit by them. But I think on the day we were laughing more at the fact that she had been kidnapped multiple times and it was always Vance.
Oh, yeah.
It's always Vance.
Yes.
It's always Vance.
It's always Vance.
All right. So the erection debate, we talked about this. It moves to the Radisson. Now, this Gumby hair flying off, I laughed out loud. It is so funny. And I was very concerned because I wasn't there when you guys shot this. And I said to everyone involved, Craig Zisk directed this, we should say, and Michael Spiller was there, our producing director. And I said, you guys, this is not a fantasy. It's in the real world. The Gumby has to fly off in a believable way.
I was so disappointed. I wanted it to fly off like a young Frankenstein.
I know.
No!
That would have been a fantasy.
No, we did it on Scrubs before where Ted saw something and his hair went from flat to fucking poofy and then went flat again, bro. We did it before.
So funny.
All right. I hear that. I hear that argument. I just, I mean, I laughed at the way it is, didn't you?
I laughed my ass off.
Okay. So we got to have our cake and eat it too.
Yes, absolutely.
It falls off, but it falls off in a believable way. I laughed.
I laughed at the fact that I'm dressed as Bobby Brown. Now this is where I didn't laugh.
All right.
What's the matter?
Fucking John C. McGinley is ripped. He takes his shirt off at one point and his motherfucker and his body is ripped. Y'all let me walk around in a motherfucking jacket.
Don't blow out the mic.
You look great.
Thank you so much, Ava. But my fucking sides is hanging over and shit. I do the running man and I'm coming up and I'm like, damn it, John C. McGinley.
Yeah, but he works his ass off every day.
John C. McGinley, I'm very impressed with how you're able to do that.
It's because in Rooster, he's in the sauna a lot and he likes to be ripped.
He takes off his shirt and that shit's flat.
But do you know how hard that man works? And he doesn't have a sip of alcohol. He doesn't have any sugar. He works out every morning. You could do all that.
I don't know.
But was that intentional? I was like, okay, little peak.
At the same time. I said, okay. He's letting them know.
Johnny's going to be very happy that the ladies clocked his abs. I think when he took that off, Whereas most of us would make sure our shirt came down, Johnny did not mind that.
His shirt came up.
It's coming up.
Well, he works so hard.
Yeah.
And if you got it, flaunt it.
Seriously.
By the way, I had a revelation. This is later in the script, I guess, but I'll just get to it now. And I don't know if the writers intended this. You guys tell me what you think. When he has had enough of Rick and he takes off the thing, he's taking off the costume. He's taking off his costume from Halloween. of being someone he's not.
Yes.
Very good. Did you guys see that or no?
Yes. Absolutely, I did. And I was wondering if.
Joelle, did you clock that or no?
Not in real time, but I'm seeing it now.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I remember the hat flip off.
Was so aggressively. I was so done with this shit. He's communicating a lot in these actions.
Yes.
I don't know if the writers intended that, but I thought that that was very, very clever.
Yeah. I want to go back.
I'm sorry. That was to jump ahead. Go ahead.
You go. Let's talk about these two. Talking at the end about, not at the end, in the middle, about casual, about the casual sex.
Yes. Ava, you kind of do, when you're saying I picture you as more of a.
Formal sex.
Formal sex kind of guy.
Formal sex kind of guy. It's not casual, it's formal. And then you go into this formal voice.
Formal sex.
And then he says, and then he says.
I want to apologize for being an inquisitive lover.
Yeah, but you do it in a formal voice. I want to apologize for being an inquisitive lover.
I laughed at that too. But it just shows also that you guys have a great fucking, we said it before, we'll say it again. You guys have a great chemistry. Was the first scene together?
Like our first like just us two.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know, you both bring so much to the show and it's great to have the both of you finally. Yeah.
I think they're going to keep writing to it too.
Yeah.
I hope so.
One thing you'll find on Scrubs and is that when things are, when a new relationship, oh, that's funny together.
Yeah.
We all start writing to it.
Yeah.
You know? And I think that that's, you know, that's clearly a new thing.
You two.
And I think, again, I like that it's not a romantic thing.
She feels like my homie.
Yeah, it's very much Turk and JD again.
But they're not easy homies. She's constantly dissing you. But you're not, like, lusting after her. You've got your eyes set on Amara. I like that the character of Grant is meant to be a very exceptional doctor. But he has absolutely zero skills with women.
I know.
It's a part that I can play well.
What?
You're married, aren't you?
Yeah, I am.
You did good.
Are you married?
Yeah.
Oh.
Big time.
Big time.
I knew you had a partner.
Big time marriage.
What makes a marriage big time? The way I do it.
Big time marriage.
I marry hard.
Yeah.
I laughed out loud every time you pulled that fucking red vine out of your pants.
Yes.
And in fact, I came up with the idea to not let the audience ever see the end of it.
Yeah.
Because it used to come out and then there was a couplet after. I go, if we don't ever show the end of it and the audience is mine, it keeps talking.
She's still doing it. That's fun. That was a lot of fun. That's another example of us getting really big. There's no red vine in history that is.
Well, they had to have that made.
Yeah, that was a homemade.
That's not that big. I believe in the world that someone could make a giant red vine. I don't believe that hair flies off when someone's surprised. Obviously, the thing about scrubs, and this was always the case with Bill, is that you set rules, and then, of course, you always break them.
Break them.
But you try and have the breaks be rare.
Yeah.
Do you know what I mean?
I understand.
By the way, it's so funny. The way your hair falls off is hilarious to me.
That shit made me laugh. Yes, because Nora doesn't want to trick-or-treat with her dad.
I get what you're saying, though, Donald, about it.
That would have been hilarious if it just flew off like... Three Stooges style. Three Stooges, yes.
And Buckwheat. Do you remember when Buckwheat.
That was... Yes, I do remember that. And the eyes and all of that stuff.
No, but wouldn't Buckwheat's hair unfold straight up?
No, all of them.
That's so fun.
It would happen to all of them. Steam would come out of their ears or... You know what I mean? Their hat would fly off or something like that when they got surprised.
Do you know what the Little Rascals are?
Yes.
But you probably know the modern version.
Alfalfa.
Yeah, our gang.
Well, back in our day, we would watch the OG black and white ones.
Called our gang.
They were on TV.
It was the Little Rascals, but they was really our gang.
I loved it.
So did I.
I grew up watching that.
So did I. All right.
Elliot struggles to explain a write-off to.
Let's go back. And say what happened. So, Elliot comes into the office of Cassie, pitching her idea for women's health. Because Cassie, in the scene that we were talking about earlier with Sibi, Tosh, Elliot, and Cassie, they're all talking about women's rights. Women's health care. Sorry. You could hit the.
Are you still actively feeling the marijuana that you have? No, but- Or did you go re-up in the break?
I should have.
I should have.
I didn't.
You remember everything.
Here we go.
Thank you. Because I forgot names. Thank you.
Thank you.
And ever and ever and ever.
All right.
You got the names now, girl?
I said it.
You got them all out.
Is there a scene about women's rights?
Yeah, they were talking about them. And so now in this scene, it's set up where, thank you, by the way. Yes, yeah, obviously. Where Elliot's now in the office because she thinks that Cassie is down with the rest of the ladies. And Cassie's like, when I said nobody cares about women's health, I was actually saying that it doesn't make money for the hospital, therefore nobody cares. And this catches Elliot off guard.
And she said, well, it's a great tax write-off. And this is where Cassie says, you know, well, explain tax write-off to me. What a tax write-off is.
Yeah, and Elliot has a really bizarre way of getting to the words write-off.
Yes.
They threw the T right off the boat.
And I believe that's where the term.
Write-off comes from. They're funny together, too. Absolutely. Because Elliot and Cassie, I think, is a new funny combo.
But anyway, but this also shows us how evil Cassie is also. This is our.
Well, evil I don't think is the word. I think that what we're going to learn is that you might not like her. She doesn't give a fuck. This comes up in the episode we just shot. She has a line, sorry, spoiler, I guess, where she says, I literally don't care. I have my phone on during the whole movie. I use the flashlight. I don't give a fuck what people think about me. And so she... She is like, I'm solely here to make this hospital money. I don't really care what anybody thinks about me.
But this is the first time that we see that also. Yeah, yeah. This is the turn. Yeah, exactly. We should also talk about how when JD meets Cassie for the first time, he hits on her, not knowing that it's his boss. And then this comes back around and bites him.
By the way, when I flowed out at the act break at Mary Poppins again, it wasn't written that I had those little heels on. Yeah, the heels are good. But I thought that would be funny to put the heels back on.
That shit was hilarious.
Hilarious.
Do you click them together?
No, that's not a... She doesn't click them, but she does hold them out like that. Yeah, that's hilarious. That whole run was funny too. We were cracking up on the day. And don't be afraid to ride me. I mean, ride me, not like ride me.
Is that going to make the show?
Yeah.
Okay. We get racy in this episode.
Well, the ultra used to get racy. We just have to find our balance.
But this Halloween episode, there's a lot of raciness in it. We open with freaking breast assist, then we go, you know what I mean?
Well, so far we haven't been dinged on anything. I think we're allowed to say rock.
We say dicks in it? Like, there's a lot.
They're more lenient on dick than dongs.
Really? And they don't like berries? They don't want to describe your balls?
We cannot find a term for testicles they will let us use. Unless it's medical and you're referring medically to a pair of testicles. You can do that. But if you say my balls, my nuts, none of that.
My bag?
Nothing.
My sack? None of that.
The family jewels.
Nothing.
We ended up with berries.
And you can say berries.
My berries.
We ended up cutting it because we were like berries doesn't make sense.
My berries. She kicked me in the berries.
It's so bizarre. Like, it's very hard to find, understand the censor guy. Yeah. Because you're like, I can call you a dick. You called me a puss.
Yeah.
We cannot say balls. We cannot say dong.
Dong is crazy.
Last season, last season, Todd was in episode two. He's supposed to say, you should, well, she goes.
You're making real, you're making, uh, you're showing real growth, Todd.
Well, yeah. And he goes, yeah, well, you should, he's meant to say, well, you should see my dong. They wouldn't let us do that. So we came up with the idea of, because there's, there's a marching band in the episode where they take over the, they, but so he goes, duh, he only gets the duh out. Yeah. Um, Anyway, these are the high-class problems we face in Scrubs.
Is it one censor? Do you guys know the censor?
I don't know if.
The network might have multiple people, but I think we deal with one guy.
Yeah.
And the emails are always hilarious. Guys are the best. No dong.
At SNL, we had Betsy Torres, who was amazing. She was the censor forever. I don't think she works there anymore.
But she would always.
suggest other options and they'd be like way worse.
I think we get suggestions from this guy too.
That's so funny.
But it's contentious. Your woman in SNL sounds nice.
Yeah, she's lovely.
I feel like, I don't deal with this person, but when I see, sometimes I see the emails and I'm like, wow, these are sort of heated. Like, no dick, no balls.
Wow. Wait, when you say she would make worse like what would she offer then.
I don't remember a specific example but it'd be stuff like instead of pussy it'd be like what about like.
What bad no.
No like worse like innuendo.
Like what John I'm trying to this is not it so Betsy if you're watching I'm sorry but it'd be like skin slit.
What?
That was my first thought that I had.
But it wouldn't be that, but that's like an example would all of a sudden be just out of left field.
Like, what?
I'm not ever going.
To say that ever.
Oh my God.
We should try to get away with skin slit, bro.
I don't think we'll get skin slit through. I can't say dong.
I mean, yeah.
Skin slit is just nasty.
Sorry, Ben.
And that came straight from Ava, I apologize. Ava, I apologize. You had to hear that.
I'm sorry I said skin slip.
I'm sorry that we had a guest on that would say something like skin slip.
Joel laughed really hard and so did Ava, so I don't know if they're offended.
We're fine. All right, here we go. Let's get to the end. We hear the song Teardrop by Jose Gonzalez, which is a beautiful song. And then I really thought it was great. well done, the rushing to the CPR for the patient as they all get back to their roots of what they're here to do, which is to save lives in this hospital. And Cox kind of comes back to life. He gets the fire back in his, he gets his mojo back by saving a life. Sorry, she passes, but he gets his mojo back in fighting for people's lives and he gets livid that this man who's a rich asshole is is not protecting the organ that he was, that was donated to him. And, um, yeah.
And that really makes him sort of, as I say, take off the costume of the, of the, of the person he is not and go back to the amazing person that he is.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That scene was like one of those ones where I think I was talking to you guys in village the other day or whatever of like, um, This show feels like the actual textbook definition of dramedy, where it's the comedy is hard comedy. I'm actually laughing. And the dramatic moments, I really feel it. I felt like that Avengers Assemble moment when Johnny C. runs in and gets fucking revved up.
But it's like this show just does such a good job at that, of making you truly feel both things in a real way. Because dramedy now, to me, is just drama. Most dramedies are that.
But this is actually... I like that. Thank you. I like that about the show. I like that you laugh out loud. And then there's almost always not every. episode, but almost always this really moving moment. Because, you know, we always heard from the people who work in hospitals, like, they love this show because that's the life in the hospital.
Totally.
It's so intense. And then you're belly laughing with your friends because you have to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And so that's why we tried to capture that tone of working there.
Yeah. I want to say one thing.
Go ahead.
I look good with hair.
You could wear a wig like in real life if you want.
You could.
Or you could go to Turkey.
Well, I suggested that to my agent, and my agent was like, for what? You're known as this. What are you going to do? Are you going to come back with a swollen noggin and freaking it'll all fall out?
It would be funny, though.
It would be fun.
Will you do it for the bit? If to go to Turkey, we'll document the whole thing?
Okay, look.
If I document it, I send a documentary. Do I need to go to Turkey?
Can I go to America?
Turk goes to Turkey. Turk goes to Turkey.
Turk goes to Turkey.
Listen.
Oh, my God. That's the doctor.
There you go.
Oh, my God. Higgins, do you want to produce anything?
No, wait.
Time out.
Time out. Why do I got to go to Turkey? They do it in America now.
Well, it's just much cheaper in Turkey. That's why people go there.
And it's more fun.
But I got insurance and I got- For the doc, it's better if you go to Turkey for the name. Yeah, but Turkey is like- Yeah, the doc's going to be boring. We already found the name.
By the way, the doc is boring if it's Turk Goes to Beverly Hills.
Yeah, you can't go to Beverly Hills.
No one wants to watch Turk Goes to Beverly Hills.
How long is the flight to Turkey? What? How long is the flight to Turkey? I just feel like those guys are always sitting in that airport and their head is on fire.
Joelle, can you look up, is there a direct flight from LAX to Turkey?
There's definitely not.
Or Vancouver.
It looks like you can get to.
Istanbul, nonstop, 13 hours, 10 minutes.
Oh, great.
13 hours.
There we go.
And we'll get you a life flat.
I don't know if you want to put your head down.
You're not allowed to. Yeah, you can't.
A life flat on the way there.
I've seen docs about it. Like, you have to keep your head upright. They give you a neck pillow. You can't fuck in them. There's saran wrap on your shit.
The Brazilian butt lifts, they have to get whole rows because they have to bend down.
They can't sit on them. Did you have yours done?
Yeah, I did.
It looks great. I didn't know you'd had it done. I noticed that you had a juicy trunk. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I got it done.
And I'm not afraid to say it.
Good.
Good for you.
Did you do Beverly Hills or Brazil?
I did Brazil.
Okay, good.
I'm going to go Beverly Hills, I think, if we do it.
Yeah.
We should go Beverly Hills.
Of course you're going to get bougie hair. Yeah.
It'll be my hair. How is it bougie?
Well, Beverly Hills hair. Yeah. All right, let's wrap it up. You coming in as Beetlejuice is hilarious. Shout out to our hair and makeup team.
Truly, they did such a good job. It looked awesome.
When you shrink with your shoulders, because you realize everyone's not in a costume, it is so funny. It's like a turtle going into a shell. Your body, your physical comedy there is so funny, John, when you just go.
Thank you.
That's what we said on set.
I was like, I should shrink after I realized that nobody.
But your whole body just like, collapses of embarrassment.
Well, it's weird that he goes, I know that the girl that I have a crush on thinks it's cool. to wear a costume. So I go, this is what I'm going to do. We were talking about how insane that would be in real life if somebody went to that extent.
Well, this character looks like he hired pros.
Pros, for sure.
I mean, we know that we've established that.
This cost $ 5, 000.
We've established that Grant is broke.
Yeah.
This is what he spends his money on.
No, but he spends his money on crazy shit like a turtle. Yeah, he's blowing it.
But by the last... I mean, he spent whatever money he doesn't have on hiring pros. Match out a credit card, yeah. Because this was not done by him in the mirror. No, not at all.
It's too good.
It's really good.
Showtime.
Yeah.
I love that you kept the scream in, too.
Yes, that was so funny. And then you have a really mean diss to him.
Super mean.
Was that a riff or where did that come from?
Well, I love that you said, because at first it was just I say that and I walk away and it's silent.
And then you were like, that's just mean and weird.
Oh, yeah, that's what we kept it. You're going, that's a really mean and weird thing to say to someone.
Yeah.
Because when we were rehearsing it, it was just so bald of just like, what?
And you said to me, you're like, I'm like, I can't believe you kept that in.
That's funny.
And I think that was the first time we spoke to, because we had filmed that before we did our scene.
That was the first thing.
Yeah.
And so then when I would come up to him and we were looking at each other, we were like, why are we like different people right now?
It was like kind of jarring.
The magic of, the magic of, filmmaking that's crazy because i would have thought you guys shot that after because it's so endearing after too though even though you're making fun of them yeah and and you say uh and you clown them and you say you know you don't look like you you definitely don't have casual sex it's still endearing i know it is it is it's still kind.
Of because it's a buddy being making giving you know it's like we do fucking all day long it's yeah it's a buddy fucking with each other yeah a thousand percent um I wanted to say when Turk is dancing in the tag, it is in the exact same spot that he did his famous poison dance back in the 80s. And that is a fan, a mega fan Easter egg.
Absolutely. But this time I stick to actual Bobby Brown dances where if you watch the poison video. They don't do any of the shit that I do on the Poison.
Oh, really?
That was all you? Yeah, yeah.
Damn.
Yeah.
And did you know that it's the Fortnite default dance thing? Yeah. They just took the dance from you.
Somebody needs to check for that.
No.
No, don't do it.
Don't get people riled up.
Don't get mad at me. Them kids.
Don't get the internet riled up.
Not the internet. Don't get these kids.
The little kids get riled up.
I don't need that.
I don't need that in my life. Yeah. Donald doesn't need to be trolled by little kids. No, wait a second.
You.
These dances that you do are some of the moves that Bobby does in the video.
Right. So there's two versions of that. So Bobby Brown in the video does a certain dance, but then Bobby Brown on Soul Train did it, and it was different. And so I kind of incorporate that. Into both. Into both, yes.
And I just want to say lastly that I remember getting a call saying, hey. Michael James Scott called Asim, our showrunner, about something. And, you know, obviously you can't help but go, oh gosh, I hope Michael's all right. I hope no one's upset about what's, And I go, what about? He said he wanted to know if it was okay if he was Oprah Winfrey in the Halloween episode. Like 80s Oprah. And we were all like, oh, my God.
Yes.
We will find a way. And so in the very last moments, we were able to get Michael James Scott as Oprah in the episode. You get a candy. You get a candy.
He looked amazing. Amazing.
We have the funniest shots, pictures of Michael and Donald together.
I just love that he's Oprah with a goatee.
Yeah.
I know.
Oh, yeah. Sorry.
He's Oprah with a goatee.
With a goatee.
So good.
There's a great picture in the hair and makeup trailer of you, me, and Michael.
Yes.
It's just like, what is this show?
Yeah.
Well, the other day they came up to me, they're like, are you going to be able to straddle the casket in the rain?
And I was like.
I love this show.
I know. It's like, this is your job.
Only on Scrubs would anyone say the sentence, would you be able to straddle the casket in the rain? Yeah. That's 206, everybody.
Thank you.
John Higgins, tell people how to follow you on the Instagram.
Oh, follow me at JohnHigginsJWN. because at John, J-O-H-M was taken.
Okay. And if you want to watch you guys perform, it's... Oh, go to PleaseDon'tDestroy.com. PleaseDon'tDestroy.com. And Ava, tell people how to find you.
Ava Marie Bunn.
One N or two?
Two Ns.
Two Ns.
Also, I don't want to pin Ava out, but she's really good at funny dancing, too.
Oh, thank you, John.
That reminded me.
Wait, can you tell them about the story that happened when we were walking?
Yeah.
She.
We were walking, we were kind of delirious after set one day and she busted out a dance move that I'm not kidding, maybe seven people turned around and started applauding.
What is it? Can you do it?
Like, it was awesome. Like, it was just, like, this funny, like, I was like, you got to do that on the show.
And people were applauding.
Can you do, like, the seated version of it?
I don't know.
It was not seated.
Oh, it's not a seated kind of thing.
It's a full body commitment.
But it was awesome, and that's my dream.
Maybe we'll find a place for Tosh to do that on the show.
You know, I'm a little disappointed, though, Ava.
Why?
Because you said you were going to put on the costume, and we didn't get to the costume.
Well, hey. How about next time you're on the podcast? You should be Gilroy.
I have to be Gilroy.
Next time you're on the podcast.
Can I be Gilroy? When we interview you, you be Gilroy. Yeah, we're going to interview you.
We don't want her to stay in character. That'll get old. Well, no, it won't get old.
Maybe she just does a bunch of characters.
Gilroy has a lot of depth to him.
Maybe she does a bunch of characters.
You gave us a little sampler, and I don't know.
If that's going to hold up for a while. A lot. Yeah, she's got a lot. 30 minutes of Gilroy. It's like Jiminy Glick, right?
Yeah.
We could do that. You could do a bunch of different characters. We could meet a bunch of your characters. Have you guys.
Ever had Jiminy Glick interview you two?
That would be amazing. He'd diss us. It would be my greatest honor. He would diss us so good. It would be amazing.
It would be one of my greatest honors. Donald Faisal. As a couple, we are very big Martin Short fans.
Huge. I love him.
I think he's one of the funniest people alive.
Yeah, since I can remember. Since fucking the SCTV, was that what he was on, where he had the freaking spike on it?
Yeah, but let's talk about Men's Synchronized Swimming, SNL classic.
Perfect SNL sketch.
Let's talk about freaking Three Amigos.
All right, we're going to wrap it up here. Thank you, everybody.
Thank you guys for having us.
Thank you guys. And count us out, Donald.
Five, six, seven, eight.
About a bunch of docs and nurses and a janitor who loved to hate. I said he's got stories that we all should know.
So gather round to hear our... Gather round to hear our.
our Scrubs Rewatch Show with Zach and Donald.
Mm-hmm.
