All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. Kickstart. A little kickstart. A little battery pack. Rob will make it grow, as they say. They need to make something where you can blur your vision. A change of vision. Fuck them, bro. Fuck them. BDL, reach out to the good people at Roe. Let's make one area. Blur the vision and make her look like Megan Fox. Shout out Megan Fox for joining the Roe. Shout out Megan Fox. Shout out to Roe for being a sponsor of this show. You take a Roe, you see Megan Fox.

Let's stay in the West where Houston is looking like a real problem for the rest of the league. Rockets improved to 4-0 Monday night as they beat the Hawks with the second straight game in their home-and-home matchup. So the addition of Fred Van Vliet, the stability of Kevin Durant, and the continued growth of Alperin Shangoon are giving the team reason for optimism. Let's check out the highlights from the Hawks-Rockets game. The chat was bitching, saying we weren't talking about the Rockets enough. So, chat, you're getting what you want. So Houston was moving the rock.

Van Vliet got the five.

Houston moving the rock from the opening tip. We'll go on to be the theme of the night. Rockets had 31 assists in the game to help make up for their 22 turnovers, but sharing the sugar. as a legendary UCLA head coach used to say back in the day. So, Shang-Goon once again flirted with the triple-double, had 29 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists, and a career-high 6 steals to lead the undefeated Rockets, who were locked in to start this season.

KD added 22.

Points, 9 boards, and 4 blocks in his 30 minutes of action, while Jabari Smith Jr. had a 16.12 rebound double-double to round out the Rockets' front-court dominance. So Atlanta came out firing this one, scoring 35 first quarter points. They also had a three-point lead heading into the break. But Rockets doing their thing, looking much improved.

Oh, yeah.

Man.

Great crew out there. They were missing that point guard.

Look at all these assisted baskets.

Yeah, they're– They sharing that sugar, huh, man? Last year was all ISO. Well, you got it.

That's what happens when you get a good point guard. Yeah, you get that floor general. You get that floor general. Riv and fleet and change the whole team. Passing is contagious, too, man. It's just like defensive energy.

So Hawks were up after the first half, but in the third quarter, Houston flipped the script. Houston outscored Atlanta 28-19 in that third quarter to build a little bit of a lead doing things like this. I like Atlanta, man. They play, they mismatch problems.

Yeah, but you've been very high on the Atlanta Hawks. I like Atlanta. I like Jalen Johnson. You got a good squad. I like the Rockers more, though.

Doing their thing, Shane Goon. Looking like one of the best centers in the league right now.

That's what a good point guard do for you, man.

Hell yeah. That's what I've been calling it. I've been doing it previously. Tell him, man. Imagine if Giannis and Bam get one.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Look what Sangone is doing on his own. Man, look at the passes he's getting from Van Fleet. That just makes you a big man. Like you said, who's creating for him?

Yes.

He can create for everybody, but who's creating for him?

Rockets took a six-point lead in the fourth quarter. Hawks weren't done to kill Alexander Walker. Drilled a three to cap off a 7-0 run. They cut Houston's lead to just two points. That's when the Rockets completely took over, going on a 14-0 run to help stretch their lead back up to 22 points. Houston shot 53% from the field.

Like I said, dished out 31 assists and dominated the boards. Our rebounding land of 52-35 to improve to 4-0 on the season, which is their best start since 2014. The Rockets' two championship teams also started 4-0. Neither here nor there, but just sharing that information with you guys so you have an accurate depiction of what's going on.

So let's start with you, Boogie.

With wins over Dallas, San Antonio, and back-to-back against the Hawks, how impressed are you with the Rockets' 4-0 start?

I'm very impressed.

You know, I expected this as far as them kind of getting back on track.

People shitted on the Rockets.

A lot last year, and I don't really understand why this is a team missing valuable pieces that still went on and won.

50 games in the West.

So it makes you think once they get all their pieces back and everyone is healthy, what this team could look like.

And I think this is a prime example of it.

Last year, they were a very they were a high ISO type of team. And mainly because they didn't have that floor general to get everybody in their spots, know where to play from. And just that guy that knows how to get people in the right positions to be successful, having success.

Van Fleetback, I think he fills that role.

Signing a guy like Marcus Smart also helps fill that role. And then one of the low-key signs was signing Bogdanovich, who I've been a fan of. He was drafted to the Kings the year I got traded, so I've been knowing him for a while. But he's also a very highly talented player that can help that Houston group. But I think they got everything in place for this team to be successful.

Just moving the ball, sharing the ball.

I think that was their main issue last year, just playing a team-oriented style of basketball. I think all those things are corrected as of right now, early in the year. They look like a good group. Kevin Durant is playing high-level basketball, even at 38. To be honest, what happened with OKC, depending on what happens with them, don't be surprised if this Rockets team is coming out of the West this year. I think they're that good. I think they're that talented. I think they're that complete of a team.

Even getting Steven Adams back is a huge, huge. So this is a team with a lot of talent on the roster. Everything is finally starting to click for them. And, you know, as good as they were last year, they still have room to get even better. They now have that starting five.

That's complete.

And like I said, they're still growing as a unit because Van Fleet was absent last year. So, They're using this time to continue.

To grow as a group. So don't be surprised if the team comes out.

When you look at this Rocket Squad, like I said, those back-to-back wins against the Hawks. I had a very impressive win against the Spurs in San Antonio. Amon Thompson beating Wimby's shit for a game.

Crazy.

That shit pissed me off. Pissed me off, too. Like, man, where the fuck you go underneath to finger roll? How you start your dribble? Welcome to Earth. Yeah. That shit pissed me off. We tell aliens. Independence Day. I'm going to rip that goddamn rim off, man.

But BD, let's shift over to you. Look at these Rockets. 4-0 to start the season. Some solid wins. Are you impressed with the Rockets so far?

Absolutely. Shout out to M.A. Adoka. It's just good coaching.

If you watched them play last year, you had a bunch of scores playing an offense that needed a floor general.

They had no real good playmaking.

In our play, it was just Katie beat you one night, Sagun, or Shepard, or Juwan. It was like they were talented to beat you. They just didn't have a system that was really operating. You know, you got Sagun as like a point center who was doing a lot of initiation.

Now you watch him.

This year, you bring Van Fleek back, you got Smart, You got better guard play. It puts Reed Shepard back into playmaker score. It put KD back into playmaker score. It put Sengun back into playmaker center. So now you got, by adding a playmaker, everybody else becomes a playmaker on that floor because the ball, the assist, it becomes contagious.

Van Fleek, he can get his own. He's still working his way into the system, but that leadership, And being able to get guys easy shots is infectious to everybody else on the team, especially now you unlocking KD for what he truly is, is that sniper. Now he ain't bringing the ball down the court. He ain't frustrated trying to make plays. He ain't mad if his teammates, you know, are not in the right position. You got your point guard for that. And now you see how Van Fleek is really delivering the rock to Sangoon. And, you know, he's looking out for his big dude. And the big dude is, in turn, looking out.

For everybody else. So good looking at this Rocket squad. You're impressed with their 4-0 start to the season?

Record or not, what I'm impressed is how they played last.

Versus this year. Remember, we beat him in the playoffs. We did. And I said, how the fuck? How the fuck? We beat y'all. Like, we.

I didn't know if you were still on. Yeah, I'm like, so I'm like, how do we beat you guys when you guys have such an advantage?

So I said, you have a bunch of shooters. That shoot the ball, but they're not shooters, right?

They're scorers. They're not shot makers. So you got two 6'11 guys that sits dead in the.

Corner shooting threes, which means.

Lugo don't have to play defense. Reeves don't have to play defense. Jake from Allstate don't have to. You're not even taking advantage of your matchups. These guys supposed to be diving, hitting that rim.

Why are you in the offense that.

Just sits there? Sangoon has it.

Pass it.

He passed.

To another 6'11 guy who's shooting a three. No offense rebound. Die, these guys.

You got one of the most explosive shooting guards in league history, right? Y'all should be diving everything on that rim while everybody's playing small ball, right? So when you look at this team, Sangoon worked his ass off this summer. You can see he has a jump shot.

He has a three. I think he should be about 50, 60%. Sangoon? Yeah.

Okay.

Like, he's actually, like, he's, like, it's not that get it from half court, fake the shot.

50-60 is crazy.

Yeah, he's shooting.

58 or something like that. Yeah, he's shooting, like, he's shooting the shot. Like, amen. Amen is keeping you honest now.

And then the, I don't think, I don't think Eason's taking, as Eason, he was taking about six threes last year.

I think he's taking about two. I didn't like when he shot him.

He getting downhill.

Yeah, so now he's getting downhill. I feel like he settled a lot.

So when you're looking at this team, now you got all these pieces moving towards this goal. It opens up everything for everybody else. So now you can't really hone in on Fred. Reed Shepard has to be guarded, right? Now KD, you might have to help off KD because these guys are coming. So the tweaks of some of these guys, add that with Fred.

Yeah.

They could, they should, with OKC going down, they should be in the chip.

There's no one suited. They should be in the hunt. There's no one suited like them. They got to figure it out.

No, no, no, because even there, even with that team, My I can neutralize with me.

I got seven.

I got seven niggas at 610 11. I can I can throw a whole bunch of 611 my small ball.

Can be 6'8 and above. Don't forget my Timberwolves now.

No, no, no.

I'm just saying.

But I'm saying they can be right there. I mean, because you do have a superstar. You do have now your big man shooting threes, so you've got to actually guard.

Them out there. Right? So, I mean, they have all the pieces. You've got the height. They've got the height and the scoring and the adversatility.

Yeah, you've got the versatility.

They got every position. And I got a guard that.

Comes off that just... Reed can come off and just catch fire.

Wait till Van Fleet really start getting it. Yeah, wait till he get after him. He was out all year.

Give him to December once he start wiggling and get cooking.

I'm pretty sure they're going to move up being favorites.

Yeah, for sure.

Me just looking at the way they're playing now, I'm like, ooh, that's different. None of that last year.

I've never seen Jabari Parker dunking this many times. Two niggas going for the same lob. Like, dude, that's what we're talking about.

So the coaching, like coaching, recognizing this stuff, the players actually in the summer.

Working on your game.

Like just two plays, I was like, oh, Sangu must have been working on the shot. You can see the confidence.

Yeah.

What a difference a point guard makes, man.

Man.

Now you have a good lead playmaking guard, a good lead guard.

You can tell he's putting everybody in position. Hey, Detroit, I'm sorry. Listen, I need to say something. Uh-oh. Oh, no, this ain't a fucking apology. I might even double down. I didn't think it was.

You got Superman over there. You see the play where they pass the ball. He did the 360 lay and finished on the inside. And I'm sitting here like, wait a minute. He is his brother. They do have the same attributes. He's a point small forward shooting guard that gets downhill, that has the ability to be on the rim.

Call plays for him.

You're doing this justice by letting him just sit around.

He just sits around doing nothing.

While you run offense for him, do some zipper up, some zipper downs. He has one foot he can, he's on that rim. And I'm sitting here like, yo, his natural ability is so heightened.

Why aren't you really putting him in your offense?

Like I know that five out is five out, but five out hurts y'all when you have a guy who has this ability in him. Because he's just, you're neutralizing him.

Like, his reaction, I was like, whoa. And then he'd be like, oh, shit, I forgot. You do do that.

You do that. It's just like there should be a lot of backdoor plays, cut slashes. You're going to have to get him involved to get the best out of him. He shouldn't be averaging fucking nine points.

All right, bro. I mean, I think that's why they paid him, too, to elevate him. What's so funny is when he got paid, I was like, I'm paying him, too. Hell, yeah.

Even if he only averages nine. He got so much ability in him, and it's just watching, like.

It's funny you say that because it's like I never understood the NBA when it came to that part, like how they determine value. So, for instance, you say a guy like, and our numbers may be off, but a guy like Twin in Detroit who averaged nine, ten points.

Mm-hmm. And you think about the Max, it's like, Max, nothing.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, nothing to think about.

But my big man, whoever's 20 and 10, made all-star in all NBA, he have a bad series.

It's like, whoa, hold on. Let's think about this. You sure we want to do this?

I'll never understand.

You know what they do? What is it? Because I have these conversations.

So they'll look at someone like Jalen and say, all right, what's your upside?

Right?

By the way, they're both 13 years old.

We put you in a pose. Can we develop this?

And then we'll look at Asar and say, damn, if he has a jump shot, if we just add a jump shot, whoa!

That's all they do. They see if... It's not like they're going to go do it for them.

If we had a jump shot on him, oh, he's... He's all NBA. And that's how they value it, on how they think.

So why can't we put that same what if on the big?

Like, with a big, it's like, I'd rather see it first and then.

Right.

You know what I mean? Like, it seems like bigs are more lazier. So it's like, well, we want to see you have a.

Jump shot first. So basically, they prejudice towards the big.

But bigs automatically, 10-10, you automatically in the 100.

Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

Understood.

Easy.

Easy. Easy. Easy.

I remember Donald Foyer got paid $ 42 million average 3-3.

It was a powerful 3-3 though. Off the bench. One of the greatest teammates ever.

He's the best.

He is not tripping, dude, at all. Whatever role you need him.

Whatever role you need him to start tonight, he's going to get you six, eight rebounds, a couple blocks.

You don't need him to play?

He cool with that, too. You'd be like, I need ten shots. I got you. I got you. I got you.

Oh, yeah, he going to look at you.

Let me go get you.

Hey, let me get you.

No, he was the best man. He was the best man.

So let's talk about Shang-Goon a little bit before we move on. So, Gil, you said heading into the season, Shang-Goon needed to take a leap this season based on where he was at production-wise. I think he's a fan of the show. I think he heeded your advice. So he's taking his game to another level to start the season.

He's averaging 25 points, nine rebounds, seven assists.

Hmm.

Through the first four games.

So do you feel like Shane Goon is establishing himself as one of the top centers in the league?

Yes.

Right. It's about getting better.

It's about knowing your cons and fixing them each year. You know what I mean? This is when you think about it, if you come into the NBA, you got seven flaws. Each year, each summer, work on that flaw. By year seven, you're a complete player.

Right?

So If we see two years in a row and you got seven, you still got seven, right?

It's like, ah, man, what are you doing?

So with him, it's like he didn't really have a move he wanted to go to, really couldn't shoot the ball, right? He's going to go, he's going to cross it over, then he's going to spin back and then try to play slop basketball, right? That was his game. Yeah, pump fake, pump fake, play a little slop, right? Now that he added a jump shot. He's passing the ball a little bit more.

Right?

It's like, okay, he's developing his game. Two years from now, he adds some more things to it. You have a dominant big.

Right?

You have another triple-double big.

Right?

So, it's all about just understanding.

Fuck awards. Because awards with flaws, when you get older, you never cleaned them up. Right? So....

Looking at the game, understanding, okay, this is what I got to work on, this is what I got to work on, and doing it, no matter if I was an all-star, all-NBA player, working on those flaws to get better because eventually you're going to need them.

So you can see he's cleaning up his game.

Boogie's a fellow big man looking at Shane Gooden this season. What type of leap is he taking? He's definitely taking a leap.

And credit to him for working in the offseason, working on his weaknesses, things like that. But I also want to credit Fred Van Fleet having that guard to help you elevate that game. And the reason I say that, I can remember my my time before I played with Rondo compared to after I played with him. The year I played with him, everything went up for me. IQ, playmaking, points, everything went up for me just having that floor general that can really control the game from that spot. Credit to him for working as an individual because it was things he definitely needed to add, but I think with the presence of Van Fleet being there now, it's not as much responsibility on him to be that playmaker, so

taking the pressure of the responsibility off may ease up the results, if that makes sense to y'all. So I think it was a combination of a lot of things, but mainly just the presence of having that floor general, which makes his job that much easier. And he can more so focus on the things that he's good at compared to, you know, what his responsibility became. So I want to give credit to Van Fleet for easing it up.

And it may sound like I'm kind of taking away credit from him, I can tell he's been working.

The jump shot looks smoother.

Even the moves in general, everything looks more smooth, more efficient, and he seems like he's more certain about what he wants to do.

Before, it may have been a little bit of a hesitation.

He may jab here, not really go anywhere, put the ball on the floor, not really go anywhere. So everything is, every move, every shot, everything just seems more efficient.

So you can tell he's been working. BD, you're looking at Shane Goon this season. And to your point, FVV takes a lot off everybody else's plate. They get to relax and kind of play their normal, natural positions. But him as a distributor, facilitator, and up in the scoring this season.

Yeah, I think it's, like I said before, I think it's a credit to the offense. It's like the same offense when you put a playmaker in. The best thing that we can do for point guards is make our big guys look good. get them easy buckets. You know, as many easy buckets that they can get, it opens up the game. And so if you look at Sangoon last year, where he struggled was he had to be that alpha, right? He had to be the guy making the plays, offense initiating. Sometimes he looked great doing it.

Sometimes he struggled, right? Finding the right shooters, finding the right players. I think now you look at the way they play, like he's the, I would say, primary, secondary player person who's making decisions. Now he can come and run down the court and really just focus on his offense, which I think now because playing in that position last year, we talked about that do-everything role. Now you don't have to do everything. You just can score, and now you can go make the plays that are going to open up and will open up, that opened up for you last year that you were successful with. So you've got to give him credit. for being more aggressive and I think it's just being a little bit more patient and

more smarter and then now starting to understand let me go get me some free looks by being accessible setting picks like he's setting better picks he rolling he getting dunks like he getting on the baseline he's finding his spots and that's what I like to see with a big dude is like where's your game coming from where do you like getting the ball where.

You gonna operate And then.

Like I said, always make it easy for the other four guys. But in his case, having that point guard back, that's another shooter to stretch the floor. That's another brain out there. You know, it's less congestion for him. So shout out to him for doing the work. But it's also the offense. You see that same offense now? Look how it's unfolded and opened up now that he don't have to do as much.

Now I see why everybody was held in the corner. Because he couldn't shoot. He needed the lane open.

Him and A-Man, because they wanted to get to the basket, my two wings stay in the corner. Don't dive, don't do anything.

So the fact that they kind of like got a better.

Jump shot, they can shoot, everybody can be honest, everybody can move a little bit better through that lane. So I was looking like, why would I just be having, and then I realized, oh shit, because he can't shoot.

He needs there, so. Yeah, he needs to get to that bucket every time.

Let's keep this thing moving we have mostly fans in a second But we got one more thing we need to discuss on the show so Raptor star Kawhi Leonard expected to miss a period of weeks due to swelling in his left knee an MRI on Leonard's knee showed no structural damage But both sides will use the time to ramp up the 35 year old all-nba wing quiet previously had issues with his right knee having multiple surgeries and for meniscus and ACL and So Kawhi posted the following on the app formerly known as Twitter in regards to his injuries. He said, yeah, it's always frustrating missing time.

I came back to compete with this team, and I'm focused on getting back to 100. Toronto, I've appreciated the love since I've been back returning soon. So in two games this season, Kawhi's averaging 20 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. He missed his first game of the season on Sunday due to swelling in his knee. So again, we talk about this Kawhi situation has been an issue.

throughout the second half of his career with these knee injuries. But how concerning is Kawhi's knee issues for the Raptors.

At this point? Just got his bread. No, I think I won $ 1, 000. I told the motherfucker that. It was a little Toronto guy. I'm going to find you, God damn it. I told you, you better give me my dough.

Yeah, I'm going to find him. I told him, this is going to happen. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Not this is going to happen.

I said, it was, you remember, I think I made a comment and said, oh my God, Kawhi went there with Brandon Ingram and you have Scottie Barnes. Oh shit.

They about, nobody moving on that court.

And then later on found out Brandon Ingram's gone and they traded for each other. And I was like, why the fuck am I trading a 35 year old or trading for a 35-year-old who's been injured half his career while I have a young team. Like if he was coming in to add value to what I already have, cool, but I'm not going to trade young pieces back to get a 35-year-old who probably will be retired in two years.

Didn't make sense.

So I'm like, I don't see you, like, it just, the team don't have enough shooting.

For Kawhi. He will have to do more, right?

So it was one of those things that didn't, like, there should have been more talent on the team, like, you know, for Kawhi to be there. So the fact that you have Kawhi there and everybody is still, like, trying to figure out their game, I was like, yeah, he's going to hurt himself trying to figure this shit out and then, We really don't know about his health anyway.

So I said he'd be at the end of the total poll because he's going to miss some time. And then it's just Scottie Barnes out there. And then from there, you're just going to double him and just say, RJ Barrett, let's see what you got. I mean, I never had. That's what I always said. They're not going to be.

Shit. Nothing.

I just like I don't know what makes me. I'm not trading for no 35. If I can add the 35 year old to what I have. Cool. But to trade my young piece who played every game last year, or damn near every game, like 70-something, and was good, had a little fumble in the playoffs, but that's what Kawhi's here for.

That's why I got Kawhi. So the fact that they let him go, man. GG's.

Good game.

Good game.

It was nice.

See y'all next year. There's a few teams that can just.

Chop that shit up.

You know what I mean? Like, you know, we see it first. You know, just let it go. I mean, you got to think.

Toronto had, I mean, every team kind of does their background checks, and they had to know about everything that they're dealing with now with Kawhi. There's no way they didn't know because these are the same issues he's dealing with with the Clippers. So I think they were willing to accept it. I mean, obviously, they went through with the trade. Even when the trade got held up, they were still all in on the trade. So I feel like this is something they knew. I feel like they think this is something that is manageable for their group.

And they may believe that the young talent around can carry them through the season or carry them through the.

Games without Kawhi.

And Kawhi is just kind of that cherry on the top from their view.

I don't necessarily agree with it, but.

That's the only thing that makes sense as to why they would go through with this trade knowing his injury history. So they must believe in what's in front of them right now. And it's got to be some sort of a master plan or it's where we'd rather have him later in the year than now 100% healthy so we can make this playoff push title push if possible. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

Black Monday. You ever seen that TV show, Black Monday? Man. Sometimes you make sense.

Some.

Sometimes you make some what?

Sometimes you make okay decisions, dog.

You partying.

Sometimes you partying and feel good. You think it's a good thing. I'm with you, Gil. I love Kawhi. Kawhi is... Kawhi's my guy. But if I'm Toronto, I want to add Kawhi. I already made the playoffs. I got something going. I got some young talent. Like, what are you doing?

What are you doing?

What are you doing?

Like, you traded young talent. And I know you traded Ingram. He was hurt as well.

But, like, you want to add Kawhi.

So who are they supposed to get rid of? I don't, they, RJ Barrett. I think they should have kind of, yeah. I mean, they could have left their team the way it was.

Right.

You, you, you went and bailed out the Clippers, but the Clippers was caught between a rock and a hard place.

A hundred percent. Right.

And then you just came and became, you know, their savior and gave them away. Probably, you know, your second most valuable piece on the team and a dude only 26, 27 years old, you know, uh, Ingram?

Ingram. Man, Ingram way older than that. How old is he? 28? 30, man. I don't think he's 30 yet.

No, he can't be 30, dude.

29. Just turned 29. Damn.

Man, I've been playing Ingram.

I've been playing Ingram.

I forget I'm getting old.

He ain't no spring chicken. But think about it. I mean, you're still 20.

But still, like, with the history that Kawhi had with the Clippers and the injury history that he had with the Clippers. right toronto making that trade like i'm with gil i'm like why like what what is the overall master plan because you bring kawaii here it's not you brought kawaii here to get over the top or you bought kawaii here to stabilize you as a playoff contender it's like why did you bring kawaii like Did you bring Kawhi here, Scotty Barnes, and now you have a plan?

What is the plan going into it? And so it don't look like. Toronto really had a plan. They was just, you know, I felt like they want to sell more tickets and more hype.

I mean, they got a good team. They got a good team. They finished fifth in the East last season. Last season. But Brandon Ingram didn't perform in the playoffs.

So, if you have an opportunity to say I can replace Brandon Ingram with Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi coming off of playing 70-plus games.

Yeah, you can do that. If Brandon Ingram, I feel like I'm three and above. You can. Absolutely. Kawhi brought up our first tip. We're rolling with him. Absolutely. You want to bring all the nostalgia back. I get it. But you have to have a, you know, what's the master plan? I agree on that.

Because you were fifth last year with a young squad. They got off to a good start that nobody was expecting to have that type, you know, when nobody expected Toronto to come out and ball like that. So you got, you, you didn't have expectations. You over exceeded expectations. Now you bring in Kawhi. Now it's like, all right, if you think you can.

Now it's huge expectations. Right? Because you were fifth. Now you got to be... No less than fifth.

No less than fourth. Yeah.

And now that you got Kawhi.

They stay the same.

Yeah, the expectations are greater.

But then you also know that, you know, he does have injury history.

You know what I mean?

If you guys can do a good job of keeping Kawhi healthy, you still know he's not going to play the majority of the season. Because, man, the dude got bad. Like, he has so many surgeries on his knees. You want him now or you want him for the playoffs?

Right. Right.

So, like, they got to play. They got to change the way the organization moves now. Because Kawhi being in, Kawhi being out, you know, you have to think about your main score or your main guy, and you have to account for him being there half the time and not. As a coach, as an organization, right? And the expectations are you can't finish fifth.

No. uh-uh then what look it was a dumb is this was a dumb trade like.

You had something going for you like you even like 35 and 29 like 29 he was probably the oldest dude on the team last year brandon ingram right no it.

Was kyle kyle anderson get the last year kyle.

Anderson yeah i think he came now he came this year right.

Yeah lee kyer as he's known in china yeah.

Because what i'm saying is you're This group was the perfect age two years from now, three years from now to be very dominant because.

They will all be. Yeah. They will all be. So Brandon Eagle will only be 31. Yeah.

What's going to be 27? Like they're right there. Yeah.

35.

My best player or the guy I think is my best player will be 37 years.

Old with bad knees.

He won't, like, will he be dominating the game where we're in championship mode? No, I'm going to be getting rid of him to what then?

Rebuild?

Yeah.

Where if I would have kept Ingram.

Added him, and he's teaching these guys how to be real wings, two years from now, they are 31, 29, 26, 25, 24.

They are ready to then go. Seasoned. I agree. And then you know what you missed. You know which piece you missed. By then, you know what you missed. Now you got to start over.

And you got to see, okay, what does this team look like with this coach, with the way they play?

And Kawhi played way different than Brandon Ingram played.

100%.

Right? Maybe they just didn't believe in Ingram, though. Maybe, yeah. I mean, he did have the greatest playoff, so that could have been reason as... But.

He didn't have a lot of playoff experience. He had one dominant year, one bad year, then okay, okay. Kawhi being there, it shows my wings how to play on the offensive side, defensive side, be more efficient. You will hope that he can rub off on them while still being dominant himself. And they're sitting there like, okay, this is what you do. Because they were both great defensive players too. Then you can teach him how to be half-court players. So he will be there teaching these guys while trying to, you know, compete. By the time he says, you know what, I'm out or I need to take a lesser role.

They're ready. These guys are ready.

They can take care of you.

You got your young dogs. They're going to take care of you. You only have to– you can play 20, 25 minutes.

That playoff game, that's Kawhi right there. You take care of the half-court. Then Ingram can find his little spots. There's not so much pressure on him. He can be the third option at that point, second option. And like Kawhi, he's seasoned at that.

I don't think....

I see what you're saying as far as adding Kawhi to the talent. If I'm Toronto, ain't no way in hell I'm putting Kawhi and Brandon Ingram on the same team.

I'm not. What? I'm not.

I don't feel like that's a recipe of success. We got two bald Dominic that don't... No, I don't see it.

Well, we. Kawhi's tricky. Kawhi like KD. Yeah, Kawhi is a tricky. He's tricky.

Kawhi like KD. You think he needs the ball, but then he don't.

He need that ball. Think about it. James Harden and Paul George.

Yeah.

They both needed the ball, and Kawhi is still dominant.

Kawhi is kind of like a KD Giannis.

If he got the ball, you ain't getting it.

Yeah.

He's not passing.

But he's efficient, and he's going to score.

And he don't need a lot of dribbles.

You know what I mean? He can play off the ball. They also kind of operate from the same areas.

Yeah.

The mid-range. I don't really see them.

They don't mesh well. Yeah, the floor would be too stagnant.

You're right. Brandon Ingram don't play well off the ball.

No.

So, like, he's ineffective playing. And then he's going straight to his mid-range.

Yeah.

Like, that's his bread and butter. Yeah. So, that's what I mean. Not saying they bad.

They got similar styles.

Yeah.

So, Kawhi will be re-evaluated in a week. No telling what that means. He'll be re-evaluated in a week.

That's not bad.

He's been ramping up. It feels like he'll be back before we know it. For several months. J-Wool will be re-evaluated. The dude is 35, yo.

But that's my point. You got to cut dudes slack.

Any dude over 35, that's hooping. You got to cut them slack, dog, with the knees and all that shit. Because you don't realize, like, back in our day, 32 was retirement.

Yeah, but you got to cut them slack. You know what I mean? Like, shit, that shit, them knees hurting, boy. Cut them slack, but you cut them a check to your $ 150 million.

Yeah, you can give them off like $ 400 million a year if your knee hurt.

If you got tendinitis, if.

You got tendinitis, your shit, it ain't nothing. You can get all the lasers and all that shit. If your shit's stiff, And don't move. Or you got tendonitis.

When you play, you ain't. Check ain't never stopped. The board man continues to get paid.

Hey, man, I swear to God, man. I'm going to take the money, but damn, dog. You give me $ 400 to play?

My knee hurts. I know one thing. And it's only going to get worse to keep playing.

You're not drug testing my team.

Okay. Uh-uh. where you going with this? I just thought about it. Like, I'd be like, yeah, you know, got old.

And I'm sitting here like, cause they got the drug test.

And I'd be like, you know what?

$ 600 million fine. I'm like, you know what? I'm like, I paid too much money. All arena with a deer.

I'm like, yo, I paid way too much money. He come pulling a deer in the locker room. I paid way too much money for you.

Like, fuck that.

Like, Paul George, Mr. 25 Games, you ain't chugging. You don't have to leave.

My team alone.

Hey, dawg, like Jimmy Butler got the coffee shop, you had a deer handler pop up.

With the live viewers.

Leave my team alone.

They got better shit now, BD. That's old school.

That's old school, BD.

Yeah, that's old school.

He would have involved. I ain't never touched that shit.

I'm bull. All right, let's keep this going. We go.

Last segment of the day. The best segment of the show. Our new and improved Mostly Fans.

Let's get to it.

This is the best thing ever. I wish you'd see these dudes.

They'd be cutting up.

Our new and improved Mostly Fans, ladies and gentlemen.

I haven't seen the new ones, though. You loved it so much yesterday. I'm going to be honest. You're going to have a nigga in the car. A much bigger car.

Where they go?

Okay. Somebody's going to be in the car, for sure. We got a much bigger crowd today.

What we got on?

With our Mostly Fans crew. Hold on, where is the Mostly Fans at?

Oh, no. Let's see where our crowd is.

We lost our guys. It's all black people in the crowd right now. Let's see what we got going on. We're waiting for our fans.

Get some lighting on those dudes.

There we go. There it goes. Yes. Oh, look at them.

They all sitting right. Look at them. Everybody's sitting right.

Let's go.

Everybody's ready for this new and improved Mostly Fans. Shout out to our amazing crew behind the scenes bringing it together. We got the virtual crowd here. Some of y'all look a little distorted still, but we are not going to hold that against you. So let's start real quick.

Can you pronounce that guy's name? I can't see that. Go back to my guy.

What? What?

What?

What?

What?

What?

What?

What?

What?

What? What?

What?

What?

What? What? What? What?

What? What? What? What? What?

What? What?

What? What? What? What?

What? What? What?

What?

What?

What? What? What?

What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What?

What? What? What? What? What?

What? What? What?

What? What?

What?

What?

What? What? Autism is back. How do you pronounce that?

I can't even see it. Let's bring him in. That's my guy.

Autism.

We got Autism in the chat?

Yeah, come on. And you got our boy Southern T. There you go. Autism.

First and foremost, can you pronounce your name for us, sir?

Uh-oh. Hey, what is that spell? Hold on one second. Autism. Autism. Autism. Or Autishim. We don't know for sure. Autishim. Autishim. Autishim.

That's not his real name.

Autism. We are working through something.

Autism.

Fellas, you know how hard it is to transition after the game.

For what?

For neurodivergent youth and families, the transition to adulthood is just as massive. How would I structure a sports and whatever? Let me read the question.

There he is. He always got some deep questions. What was it? Let me see. Hold on. It just disappeared. That's my boy. I like the brick background too, bro.

Fellas, you know how hard it is to transition after the game. So for neurodivergent youth and families, the transition to adulthood is just as massive.

What does neurodivergent mean? I think when you're dealing with like ADD and things like that. Oh, got it. If I'm not mistaken. I thought all that. Players that have ADD.

Those are the ones that struggle after the NBA.

ADD and shit.

Yep. Because what ends up happening is when you're in a league, right, you have the doctor, team doctor.

Go make sure you're getting your shit.

You know what I mean?

Right?

So you're back. You got resources.

Yeah, yeah. When you're on your own, now you.

For the first time, how to, you know, manage yourself.

Yeah, you don't have to tap into it. You don't have to tap into it.

So they'll go weeks and weeks without taking it, and then that's when that person's spiraling down.

Not taking their medicine.

All right, so I think I know how to answer this question because you were saying for youth, right?

Yeah, I said for youth.

The follow-up was how would I structure a sports and esports infrastructure with long-term resources to prepare them for real-world independence after?

I think it has something to do with job placement, right? Like when you're teaching these kids the effect of sports, when you're teaching these kids the effect of sports gaming. then I think it's imperative to show them that there's a destination where they can become successful. And that doesn't necessarily mean, you know, if we all on the same AAU team, chances are y'all two going to make it.

But look where Joe is, one of the top hosts, producers in sports, right? I could become a manager, an agent. So you want kids to get into sports, to recognize that you can be.

Whoever you want to be when you grow up.

Or whatever job you want, you can do that by still having the same discipline, being on the team.

You don't have to be the best player. I would love to explain this, and BD is spot on.

Uh-oh.

There we go. First, we need to know. Give us your name first, sir. I'm going to tell you, BD, you good, boy. Thank you, brother. Good.

The way you pronounce it is autism.

Autism. I told you.

Yep, yep.

Autism.

So look, I appreciate y'all. How many niggas in there?

I hear an echo. So my bad.

But I have a non-profit.

My brother's man.

My brother's man.

Black fathers lack autism.

We are black fathers raising young kids on.

The autism spectrum. So I'm trying to build resources.

For families and kids that look like my son.

And so I grew up and I moved, but clearly.

I did not make it.

To the next level.

Like I did. And so I love talking about sports.

And everything, but realistically I'm.

More interested in what happens after the game is over.

Because the NBA, the part of your lives is going to be the rest of your lives.

So I watch y'all through social media.

Through the movies.

Through the NBA, and I'm more interested in knowing how you.

Guys feel, the resources and success that you have with your.

Kids, and I know part of that is because of the money that you guys have accumulated.

Over a certain amount of time. I know how you guys got this much time, so I'm trying to pray right now, I'm not sharing any money, and plus I'm so nervous, and I'm talking to the NBA stars, and Joe's saying, I found a lot out there, and I'm just being proper with what y'all doing, so I don't know if I found a little place, but that's pretty much it, man. Like, I'm trying to give you resources for you, and families that have, you know, um, They have neurodivergent, whether it's ADHD, whether it's autism, whether it's Down syndrome.

That's like my wheelhouse, man. So I'm more interested in learning how to build.

Infrastructure after y'all retire and the things y'all are doing.

So hopefully that sums it up. Again, I apologize for the echo. All right. Thank you, man.

We take a team's mentality, right? Everything we teach, we teach team. You can't be successful without learning how to work. As a team, you know, you look at this production is more than just Gil. It's his name, but it's actually the team and people around him. So every industry, every profession, whether you're a scientist, whether you're a trainer, everything requires the team mentality.

So I think.

Teaching these kids that we are on this team to be great teammates, to figure out who we are so we can be a great teammate to realize what destination to go that we want to reach. And so looking at your local, I mean, I would go around to basically local professionals and make sure that people are actually pouring in once a week, once a month, that you take the kids somewhere or you bring somebody in to explain, like, hey, this person played basketball just like you, and they went to college, but they didn't make it to the pros, but they wind up being a doctor, right? Because sports is always going to have a positive aspect in your life as long as you stick to it, even for us as retired players. Like, sometimes we don't rediscover ourselves,

so we go back and play pickup basketball with dudes just to kind of, you know, to cure that anxiety, right? To cure that ABD. that we have, but teaching these kids and having the right people around them to say, okay, you're going to be successful because basketball and sports is going to teach you all the right elements to how to be the best human being and put yourself in the best position.

All right, so let's move on. We got another question from BronzeSexual956. I believe he's in seat three.

BronzeSexual956.

Come on, dude. BronzeSexual956. Of course he's going to go with him.

He's a bronze sexual, baby. He's part of Josiah's group. I'm a fan of elite basketball. There's a difference between glazing and praising, ladies and gentlemen. I think you guys need to learn that difference.

I'm a glazer, so I know a glazer when I see a glazer. And you, sir, are a glazer.

What's up, bronze sexual 956? Not to be confused with bronze sexual 955 or... Bronze Sexual 954.

952.

956, the 956.

Bronze Sexual, what's up with you, bro? Can you hear us?

All right. Okay.

Wait, can they hear the show? Can they hear us now? Yeah, he can hear us. You're on mute.

Not on the show, but. He's muted. Okay, he's muted on his side.

But his question is, if LeBron wins two championships with the 76ers, he will have six rings and 25 seasons. Can we finally end the GOAT debate? A great question from Bronsexual956. That GOAT debate was already ended, but. The GOAT debate is over.

What I'm saying, you're going to have to ask the Stephen A.

Smiths.

It's over.

Skip Bailey, you got to ask the people who actually got to vote.

And they're the ones that's voting them in. We can change our opinion.

We can't change our vote.

Take a vote with all the peers and everybody in the league and then the debate is over.

The problem is peers are on it. Some of the peers are in the voting.

But they're older peers.

So as long as they're still voting and they still got their vote, it's going to stay the same. It's just hard for him. I think Bron was what? He was one point behind Jordan. Not on any list I acknowledge.

Hey, bro. Not on any list I acknowledge. He's number one? See, because everyone does that.

They keep getting to do the same thing. Because we pretend that it's not real.

No, you allow squares to make lists.

But they make it.

That's who the NBA hired. The NBA hired the squares. But I'm the only square that I rock with.

So if we keep pushing it off and say, those lists don't matter. I don't care about the list. They don't have to change their ways.

Right? So if someone wins the NBA. Yeah, I'm not tripping on nothing that.

If you didn't hoop or you don't really know the game, I ain't respecting your opinion. Like Joe said, I'm going to roll with what I think and what I feel from the majority of our peers.

It's a real list.

If we being honest, bro. It's not a real list. It's not a real list.

Basketball is all perspective.

It's art, Doug. It's art.

You either like a Picasso or you like a motherfucking.

I don't blame you. Thank you.

A top 75 jacket is a real jacket.

No, that's fine. They got it.

Who voted?

It's real. So the people who we thought should be in there, they're not. They don't have the jacket. They don't have the coin. They don't have nothing. It's all marketing. It's all a part of marketing. I'll tell you this. It's all a part of marketing. I don't give a fuck what it is. It's George Mikan. I want it.

George Mikan. If he got a leather jacket... You know what they did?

I know what we're picking, but it don't matter.

This ain't real. It's real.

That shit real.

It's not real.

Have a top 75 party.

It wasn't really thought out properly. That's what I said. Every time you come with something like that, you don't really think it out because... I mean, one, it's great media because it's going to always lead to debate. But there was 75 guys that should have been grandfathered in And that's it. Then you start the next wave of 75.

I think 75 got to happen within every 20 years. It got to be a new 75. 75 gets a minute, right? Because if it's a real 75. The top 75 of all time is crazy.

And that's how I looked at it. I said, I look at it like this. Nobody is ever going to get pushed out.

If it's top 75. It's 75 just like any list. The more people come in, the bottom list. So whoever 75 is, when a new list comes, obviously they're going to be gone. Get a jacket back.

It's a new color.

It's just a new color. I'm not giving my jacket back. You got the green. You was in the first phase. The next phase is red. They had the top 12.

They're going to get mailed to you with a return slip.

It started off as top.

12, top 25. It was 12, 25, 50, and then 75. They're just grandfathering everybody. They're going to.

Get mailed 20 years later. Awards. It's like, you made it. Nah, you know what? Get my shit back. Send that shit back.

We got one last question from Ruby in C-Date. We're going to see if we can pull up Ruby.

Oh, man, what happened to our boy Southern T? He stood there with us all day yesterday.

Southern T, a fan of the show, back in our van. Look at him.

He's going to zoom in.

There he goes. There he goes. This is just a test, too. We still got something better than this. We got Ruby here. We're going to use it better. Ruby, can you hear us? Okay. No, I ain't none of that.

So, Ruby's question is, what's... Common locker room or player etiquette. Has there been any funky ass teammates you had to stop or say something because of it?

Go ahead, Ruby. Yeah, what's up, Ruby? We got you. I'm on air. I'm on air. I'm on air. What's up, y'all?

How come I can't hear you.

Guys?

We're not talking.

We're listening to you. Can you hear us? Come on, Ruby.

Yeah, if we can mute you, I'll ask this question. So what's common locker room or player etiquette? Has there been any funky ass teammates you had to stop or say something to because of it? Have you had a stinky teammate that you had to pull aside and say, look, you need to properly hygenate yourself?

A stinky teammate? Hell fuck yeah. That's all I wanted to know. You got to listen.

Just because you got money don't mean you know how to wipe your ass, okay? Let's just say that.

Everybody's coming from everywhere.

Just because I gave you $ 50 million.

Don't mean you know how to use this shit. Right?

So, yeah, we done, yeah. Had some rough night. Yo, you smelling like Tootsies, bro. You smelling like.

The fish filet sandwich, bro.

I told you to stop messing with that. You got that coming straight from the strip club, straight to the gym?

I done experienced it more overseas. I mean, I played over there.

For some reason, the routine over there is way different from the state.

Not really in the state. Not in the NBA. I can't. I had a coach. Oh, my God. Oh, yeah. Keep going. Oh, because I was like, yo, I ain't had no teammates.

You don't be thinking about your teammates like, yo, homie, you ain't smelling good.

You had a teammate that was funky? No, a strength coach. He was in the war. I ain't going to call him out.

Okay.

Play for the Wizards. Okay, I'm sorry. I have to say something. Play for the Wizards back in the day.

By a process of elimination, we could likely figure out without that information you provided.

Amen.

We have a very astute chat. Amen.

I'm going to leave it at that.

I'll let him figure it out. But man, every day. I had a coach. Something in the morning. I had a coach. I smell like dog shit. Every day. Breath? Breath. No, I didn't have funky breath. No, no, no. Breath. Body.

Like he fucking smelled. He smelled like he was spoiled every day.

Where was this at? NBA? Yeah, in the NBA. Let me think, Aaron. Where you from?

Hey, dog.

Hey, dog.

Hey, dog.

He smelled so bad. All right, what year was it for you? I was with the Clippers. Clippers, okay. He smelled so bad. Really? And I had to humble myself.

Because of his stench no for real like you gotta like cause you gotta sit down with yeah yeah hell yeah no no no no not Vinny the snake Jesus you said he smells small he smells so bad and it was like damn dude like you couldn't like you can't sit and have a coach you know what I mean it's like then the coach come talk to you and he like ah damn dude like So you kind of like, you know, coach walk over.

You're like, oh, yeah, okay.

You're like, you're leaning in.

Hey, dog, you smell so bad. That motherfucker smell spoiled. You wear the same jeans every day. His breath was stinking. I'll let Rasheed Wallace tell you. So we will bring Rasheed Wallace. That was our mostly fan segment for today. He was fuming.

Still a work in progress, ladies and gentlemen. We appreciate everybody in the virtual chat. We're going to start much earlier so we can get more questions.
