Hey, I need to tell y'all about this new sports trading app I discovered.

It's called Polymarket.

It's the most exciting way to trade in sports, and it's a nationwide, federally regulated prediction market. Polymarket is the best prediction market, better than Couchy, DraftKings, and FanDuel. In the past, if you wanted a position on a game, you'd put your money in and get locked in until the very end. But Polymarket lets you trade games like you would a stock, buying in and selling out entirely on your terms. When your team drops to 20 cents, you buy the dip. And when they jump to 40 cents, you sell, lock in your gains, and double your money without waiting for the final whistle. And it isn't just sports.

You can trade on culture, news, and current events. Plus, they have a squads feature where you can talk and trade with your friends. Any trade a member places drops right into the chat as a card, and anyone can hit buy to take that same pick in one tap. Ditch the old limitations and trade on your terms. Download the Polymarket app and use code ARENA. And when you deposit just $ 10, you'll unlock $ 25 in bonus funds. That's code ARENA to get $ 25 in bonus funds when you deposit just $ 10 on Polymarket. You ever have one of those days when you get home and you're thinking, man, I just need to feel something different. Maybe you just want to laugh. Maybe you want to get hyped. Maybe you want to watch something that's going to have you

locked in. Or maybe you just want to chill. And that's exactly what I like about Amazon Prime. I'm not just choosing what I want to watch or what I want to buy. I'm choosing how I want to feel. And Prime always shows up. I can throw on that show that everyone's been talking about, or I can watch basketball all night. And if the game makes me realize I suddenly need a new jersey or my favorite snacks, Prime can get it delivered fast, all before the next tip-off.

So whatever feeling you're looking for, excitement, relaxation, laughs, something new, You can find it on Prime and experience it to the fullest. From streaming to fast shipping, it's on Prime. Welcome back to Gil's Arena, presented by Polymarket and powered by Playmaker.

What's up, chat?

I see you guys are very disrespectful in the comments, but I still love you and appreciate you. Thank you for pulling up on this glorious Monday. This is Gil's Arena. I'm your host, Josiah Johnson. I'm here with NBA legend, 2K Uncle Badges, Theater King, and the goated Gilbert Arenas. You got the authentic Slovenian Jesus jersey.

Seven? 52. Okay. I didn't know. 52.

50 piece McNugget meal.

Add an extra two in there. No fries, no drink.

We got NBA champion of the world, Swaggy P. Nick Young back on the couch. Is that 15 or six, Swaggy?

A little bit of both. A little bit of both. I mean, that's what you have. Either six or 15. Somewhere around there. Good career, though. A great career.

Good career.

One of the all-time great corner boys. Corner men. Hall of Fame. Corner men. I'm making my own Hall of Fame for corner men. I mean, usually.

You look like an AAU kid, man. Can't get no playing time on a real team, so they just create their own team so you can be the star.

That's cool, man. That's what's up. Most hate it. That's where it came from? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

And we got one of the greatest hoopers to come out of L.A., third overall pick out of D, UCLA. He went on to play 13 seasons in the league where he was a two-time All-Star. You can see him starring in the new film, Last Shot. Baron Davis, welcome back to Gills Arena. You're looking better than these Raiders, and I appreciate you still loving and supporting the team.

Love, Raider Nation, baby. We all right. We going to be all right. We'll be fine. Damn safe. Oh, yeah, your team beat them. Your team, dog. You always winning, my man. Lakers. You've been winning. You go from Utah? Nah, Utah. He a Raider fan. He'll be a Raider fan soon. He don't know what he want to be. Whoever wins, that's what I'm saying. Lakers. You think I really give a fuck about football? That's what I'm saying. I'm sorry, sir.

I just wear the colors. I jump on the wagon if they winning. Are they winning right now?

Nope. I don't know them niggas. Sorry, sir.

Well, let's talk about some things that you do know. We got a lot to discuss. Here's what's cracking in the arena today. The Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum feud heated up this weekend with Brown telling Tatum to stay ready at all times. How much gravy is Brown putting on these lamb chops? That'll all make sense in a second.

Luka dropped the first 50-piece of the season to keep the Lakers undefeated. Is snow time for real or fugazi? And the Heat are winless through their first three games of the Giannis era. Did the Greek freak make the right decision taking his talents to South Beach? He could opt out next summer. He could also sign an extension starting January 6th. Gil's birthday. Storm the Capitol Day.

Mm-hmm.

Let's see what's going down.

The storm of the capital took over your mind. Great days for themselves. January 6th was a great day.

It was a great day. Did you dirty, dog?

Gil is a Jan Sixer, for all those who are wondering. But we got a new and improved Mostly Fans for y'all today. We've been working on this for a long time. All right, so we're going to do a little basketball and then we're going to do some lamb chops with gravy first. But the Jason Tatum Jalen Brown feud took another turn this weekend. Let's start with the basketball side first. So after shooting a tour date in the Celtics' season opening loss to Detroit Tuesday, Boston had their home opener against the defending champion Knicks Friday night. Tatum gave Boston fans a vintage performance while giving the Celtics their first win of the season. Let's take a look at some basketball highlights before we talk about some off-court drama. Game had a playoff intensity from

the opening tip. First half featured a back-and-forth battle. There were 12 lead changes throughout this game. They were getting to it. Celtics led by one point in the second half. Tatum took over, scored 16 points in the third frame as Boston outscored New York 33-24 to take a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter. Celtics led by as much as 12 in the final frame when the Knicks went on a 16-5 run to cut that lead to just one point. Then Tatum reminded the league why he's one of the best closers in the game, scoring seven of the Celtics' final eight points to help seal that win.

Tatum scored 25 points in the second half. He had 36 points, nine rebounds, seven dimes, and three steals. Went 14 of 26 from the field. So let's watch him go. Ham right here towards the end of the game.

You see it. Oops. Oh, my God. That was tough.

Man, you got to get foul there.

You don't got to get foul. Celtics up three. Real set. He a big shot. He a tough shot, Steve.

Looking good. Bouncing back. Like he has some things on his mind. BD, we'll start with you. Good to have you back in the arena. How impressive was Jason Tatum in the Celtics' win over the Knicks in their home opener?

I mean, he backed.

You know, he back. Before the injury, we knew where he was going. You know, I mean, the dude is just, he hit tough shots. Like, he's not afraid to take tough shots. And I think, you know, for him coming into this season, missing a lot of last season, it's like so improved for him.

And so, especially with Jalen Brown gone, he like, all right, I get to do even more. And you can tell.

When they was rocking in Boston, like he wouldn't have mind taking up some some more Jalen Brown's touches anyway.

I mean, he just got that.

I'm going to score, score, score on you, you know, mentality and you can't do nothing to stop me. And I think him coming into this season, you know, he got a he got a huge chip on his shoulder and he got a lot to prove because you don't have Jalen Brown now. You don't have that one AB or one BA, whatever. You've got Paul George as a complimentary piece to you. So not only that, you've got to make all these dudes on the team better. So he was balling.

I mean, he's a tough guard. You can't guard him one-on-one.

Well, Swaggy, let's shift over to you. So Tatum, in the season opener, six for 23, had 13 points, did have 11 assists in that game. A loss to the Pistons. They come back Friday night. On Prime Video, marquee game. National streaming game. Came through with 36, 9 rebounds, 7 assists.

First game, you know, got to get used to not playing with Jalen Brown, trying to be too passive. Had to make a phone call to my guy. Told him I missed the package and it didn't come yet. You know, I was still waiting on my second installment of my JT's. But second game. You know, back to itself. Making tough shots.

The only thing I don't like about Boston is that they blow leaves too much. That's something you got to fix. But the way JT played, he came out ball 32 36 getting more used to not having somebody out there that you know you used to sharing a rock with I think that plays a part in the first game but now that you know you got to shoot everything and You still can rely on Paul George to hit shots.

He's out there playing like the perfect corner guy for.

Them.

You got Derek White doing his thing. I think Boston's going to be okay. As long as JT keeps getting his confidence on, keeps getting used to playing with after injuries, getting used to being that MVP level type guy, I think Boston's going to be all right.

Ikela, let's shift over to you. Tatum bounced back from an underwhelming season opener. Got the defending champion.

Knicks at the crib.

Came through on the clutch. Seven of the Celtics' last eight points to get that dub. Yeah, I mean, what makes a star, an elite player, is bounce backs.

Right?

Where you underperform, and then the next game you're able to bounce back and not just continue downward. Right?

So, usually.

Most elite players, if they have a horrible game, they usually bounce back that next game. I still, it's going to be an up and down. It's going to be an up and down first month. I'm not going to worry about the game, the first game. I'm not going to worry about and praise this game because he hasn't played.

Yeah.

He hasn't really played continuous basketball in a long time. Yeah. So, it's going to take him at least a month to get the rhythm back of the old, right? So he's going to have games where he's going to look horrible from shooting. There's going to be games where he's on money, but when the consistency comes is once he gets in, in shape, gets his timing back down. So, um, as long as he's mentally there and understand it's still a process, right?

This is this, this first month is still a process for you. Um, The only thing that I despise with Boston is they do not recognize when they're on a slump as a team.

Right? They didn't miss.

Four or five straight threes and no one has the mindset to say, let me get an easy one. Let me get two points. So they'll turn that missed four or five threes into ten threes.

Right?

And for a team where I think only I don't think Paul George shotty free throws. I don't think Derek White shotty free throws. It's like no one shoots free throws on the team. And I think that's where Jalen Brown kind of like.

That's what they miss.

Because he got the free throws and he got the penalty. You know, the starting five don't. No one's aggressive enough.

Tatum, the only one of that starting five to shoot free throws. And I guess he was five for five. It's also like they style. But you're going to miss that from Jalen Brown. To your point, you missed four or five. shots in a row, you know somebody got to go downhill. They don't have nobody that can go downhill.

They don't have nobody that can get fouled. I mean, you know, you want Paul George to do that, but he older. You want Paul George, you know, fresh shooting corner shots coming off pick and rolls. They don't have a, I don't think that they have a person on their team that can, that goes downhill and their whole offense is geared towards, you know, Draw and kick, get a three.

Get the first three. They shoot a high volume of threes. So you ain't going to get to the free throw line if you don't have nobody that loves.

To drive to the basket. That is crazy. Who is that guy?

But that's what takes you to the top. Like you read there where he pumped it. He had him jumping.

Yeah.

You get the foul there. That's where you get the foul. You get the guaranteed two. He just got an extra foul on him.

Right?

You don't need to make all your buckets. Two free throws guaranteed works too. And it changes the dynamic. It makes you a closer. You can't be a closer.

You can't be a team that you can't close without shooting free throws or getting to the free throw line. Because if you're a down team, you've got to find a way to get to the line to stop the clock. They're going to have issues I think throughout the season of how are they going to figure out how to close these games out, especially when you get to the line.

Yeah. Who will be the second? Peyton Pitchers? The closest to probably get Peyton Pitchers? What'd you call him? Peyton Pitchers? Yeah, Peyton Pitchers. He shot two free throws in the game. That's what I'm saying. He shot two free throws? You called him Peyton Pitchers? He shot 16 total free throws in the game. Peyton Pitchers. Peyton Pitchers.

Peyton Pitchers. Always come up with great names for NBA. Peyton Pitchers. Peyton Pitchers.

Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram.

Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram. Chet Hologram.

Chet Brown responded in the comments calling cap on Tatum. So after the Celtics first win of the season, Tatum was asked about it and had this response.

For me, and I mean, all of y'all kind of saw us grow up and everything that we accomplished. And I don't want that to be in the rear view mirror of, you know, what's being talked about when it pertains to us too. It should be celebrated, right? Like, I mean, people played in this league and never went to the finals. We went twice and won a championship, so it should be more about that, like, you know, fucking Shaq and Kobe, like.

There's no beef. You know, I don't, it's not about that.

It should be more, you know, praise and, you know, I understand that don't necessarily sell and drama gets clicks and views, but I'm not like really into, that's not like my thing.

This ain't no Shaq and Kobe. Not into drama, that's not his thing. Interesting words there for Tatum. So Jalen Brown celebrated his 30th birthday Saturday night by dropping 27 points and five dimes in a Sixers win against the Bucs. He was asked about Tatum saying there was no beef and got a little spicy with his response.

Let's take a listen.

I didn't see the full thing, but I saw that he said, there's no beef, and I think he's right.

There's no beef.

Jason comes from a wonderful family. We've accomplished some great things. He's a hell of a basketball player. He's got a great PR team. There's no beef, but it might be a little lamb chops and some gravy.

He should stay ready at all times.

Why do you say that? Just, you know, That's what it is. No beef.

It should never, ever be that.

It's just basketball. We both bless. It might be a little lamb chop. We'll be all right. I guess you could say that he would like to have a conversation with you. I guess, like, are you willing to have one with him?

We both got so much stuff in front of us.

So at the end of the day, we both, you gotta do what you gotta do. For his team, I gotta do what I do for my team. Jason's a great guy, like I said, great family. Hell of a basketball player, hell of a PR team. There's no beef, bro. It'll be a little lamb chop. When you commented on his post the other night, were you suggesting that his version of the defense work? Like I said, there's no beef.

you know, the PR and all that type of stuff. It is what it is, but I think we just both focused on what's in.

Front of us.

So we hear Jalen Brown there numerous times saying Tatum has a great PR team.

I know, I kept catching that. PR and Lambchops.

People on the internet were pointing out that he kept dropping the Lambchops line hoping that it would land with the media. Didn't seem to stick the landing on that one, but What are your thoughts on Jalen Brown saying him and Tatum don't have beef but have lamb chops with some gravy and Tatum should stay ready at all times.

Yeah.

I'm pretty sure they played one-on-one all the years that they played. We can tell who dominated because we can tell who's leading the team and everything. We set that example in practice. The problem is You guys let the media do this to your friendship? There was no questioning these two guys on their passion, their love for each other.

When they played this game.

When they played Dallas, it was a Jason Kidd who said, Jalen is the best player. And then Drew Holiday coined it.

Yep.

It seemed like that's when the ruffle happened.

Right? But.

But you... I mean, like, you guys done so much. You guys both got screwed. Like, you guys both was under the... Like, the media challenged both y'all careers.

For sure. You know what I mean?

Like, it's like... Remember I said it. I said, yo, this looks like... Hey, this looks like a breakup that's about to happen.

Yeah. When.

Kawhi couldn't make the USA team. Jalen Brown's about to go. They put Derek White instead. Now, he looking at Derek White, like, well, damn.

You know what I mean? My sidekick's sidekick.

And then when they get there, when they get there, it's like, you know what, White?

You're going to start over Tatum, too. So Tatum is like, well, god damn. So, you know what I mean?

It's like it's been this Where it is now, it seemed like it'd been there. Like this was happening, trying to figure out how to break these two up.

And it's like, then once you get into it.

Yeah, you carved that right up. You carved that right up. I mean, like the USA thing, like the media has. And it's just, I think basketball in general has kind of like just chiseled at, you know, this relationship.

But like all great groups, you know, B2K broke up. Yeah. New Edition broke up. You know what I mean?

It's like, it's rare that we see great groups that stay together and it's usually because, you know, there's Ralph Transvant and Johnny Gill. You know, they can both sing. So, you know, who's the lead singer?

Right? So there's going to be some static. Like, oh, I'm out of here. Oh, now it's like, yeah, we cool. Like, it ain't no beef. Like, we cool.

But, Now we can really settle this. That's what I think the lamb chops is. You know what I mean? Like, well, I don't have beef. I don't hate you. But, like, I do want to prove that I am who I am and was in that locker room. And, like, so you should be on alert because I'm not going to take it easy on you, homie. That's what he basically saying, like, with the lamb chops and gravy.

Yeah, I get that. But, you know, what if the niggas bull? No, he said... Like, what if Jason Taylor's the bull? He ain't no lamb. You know what I mean? Yeah, I mean, we gonna find out. We gonna find out. I think that's what he said. Yeah, I think that's what he said. Put a lot of gravy on that lamb.

So, what, you putting the gravy on the lamb when we was here for the last eight years?

He said... He did. He became the star.

He became the star because I got hurt.

He gave him his props.

He did.

But at the same time, you could tell, as those dudes... He said... It was going to break up because....

It was almost like a division of merit that could be handed to a person in Boston. The media wanted Tatum and everybody else in the league or people in the league saying it's Jalen Brown. The way that the merit is being distributed is causing the shakeup within. That's why I feel like he even referenced Shaq and Kobe.

It's like, yeah, we played together but one dude thought Shaq thought everything run through me. Kobe was like, why should I do that when I work harder than you? So you got two real, true alphas, two young superstars that as they get older, one person going to want his own show. When Jalen Brown got a taste of his own show last year, he realized like, oh, hold on.

I can do this without my buddy, even though if I had him, we can go win this. But at some point, you grow out of that Man, we ain't competing for this team.

I need to show you that I'm just as good.

He had been calling him soft, too. He kept saying he come from a great family. When they say.

That, that's like, are you coming from a great family?

Yeah, he throwing jabs.

That's why I feel like Tatum got to come with a little more edge. I don't want to hear the political correct, you know, come back.

I don't even think Jason Tatum don't even seem like he care too much but at the same time I don't have to.

I think y'all are forgetting something they played on the same team for 8 years Jalen Brown was on the team way before Tatum Tatum came to the team took the team it was his team But what that mean?

It became your team when I'm hurt. But if I feel like it's my team too. When I'm hurt, you did not, when we was both healthy. But that's the problem. That could be the issue. When I got hurt, that's when you got tough. But that could be the issue. I don't feel like it should be your team. But what I'm saying is when you. Like you like, I.

Think you saw pride. I think that it's my team. But why didn't you take it from me then?

That's why.

Why are you waiting for me to get hurt to get your nuts dropped?

He didn't do though. When I was on the team. He dropped his nuts in the finals. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He got finals MVP.

What you talking about? Not one of y'all said he got it. Not one of y'all before said, you know what?

Brown got it.

I saw it in the finals Brown was going to get it and Jason Tatum kept firing at the end of the game everybody who played this game and they mama know the series of rap they knew Jason Tatum was trying to get that MVP that shit went to Jalen Brown that hurt that kid man That crushed him.

Of course. That crushed him.

Because it validated the fact that whatever your running mate is, whatever you're saying to your running mate, whatever you're thinking, homie.

Who was saying it then? Nobody was saying that until they did it. No, Drew Holiday said it, too. That's in the finals. No one was comparing them in round one and two and three. We didn't hear what they was thinking.

They were never really compared until Jalen Brown. Walked away with the MVP. Then it started being a lot of just some weird shit.

No, no, no. In the finals, right? That's when it started. The very next season, one is not playing.

One is not playing. Which is fine.

Which is fine for the one that's playing because he get to go, okay, you're not playing. I can hold this thing down by myself.

And that's why it's all right playing.

Now, if I'm not playing, then it's your turn to hold it down by yourself.

So you know what I'm about to do? I'm about to shake. You're on your own, buddy. Let's see how well you do without me. Okay, but the problem is this.

We've been, like, we're pretending that we don't get challenged and challenge each other.

Every day, yes. Every day. Every game. All day.

I'm just saying, every game, we've already established who's better.

Every day in practice.

Who?

Who's established that? I know. Them playing one-on-one, right? No, no. Does one-on-one establish who's?

I mean, one-on-one solves a lot of problems.

One-on-one sets them up. In those two positions?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

One-on-one. One-on-one sets somebody up. They're in the same position. Yeah, yeah, yeah. One-on-one will set your ass up. Both third overall picks. Do you feel like Jalen Brown has a little bit? But don't it feel like Jalen Brown won a one-on-one? Who confirmed that Jason Taylor won all the one-on-ones?

I know.

That's because of the way JT, I mean, JT talking.

What?

The way he talking to me, I feel like he knows something. He knows something. Maybe the way he's talking. What I'm saying is, did he know something in 2021? 2022? 2023?

Who was winning the one-on-one? Or did he know something once up there? Who was winning the one-on-one? He won a final game. He won.

He automatically consumed all the one-on-ones. He won all the phase. Let's just go all the way back.

Y'all remember Jason Tatum, I mean, Brown couldn't go left at one point.

Yeah. Couldn't make no left-hand layups at one point.

Remember, this was part of his story.

Couldn't go left, couldn't make left-hand layups. A narrative that was pushed, girl. Couldn't dribble, right? He's got it. He's evolved. He's evolved, right?

So what happens is he turns it around and really does a 360 last week, the finals, and then the whole next season, right?

You hit, but we didn't play each other when we both were strong.

So running off at the mouth, like, hold on.

All he's saying is like, whatever you saying, like, oh, yeah, we was this and that.

He called cap. So if somebody called cap, it's like, man, you full of shit.

I didn't know you was getting traded today.

Or in down the street. I knew you was gold.

I knew you was gold.

I knew you was gold. Is Jason Tatum the franchise player of the Celtics? I'm asking you a question. It's a yes or no. It's beef. Is Jason Tatum the franchise player on the subject? Yes. Is that a question? It's a question that was a yes or no answer. Simple. Because there's a follow-up.

Oh, yeah.

Two follow-ups. I think the one who's been on the billboards. The man. That's on a couple. He's got a good PR team. That's what he said. All across the world. When you think Boston Celtics. That's what he said. So my PR team is telling the team. He light-skinned. They're telling the team, hey. He light-skinned. He's from a good family.

It's like Will Smith fighting DMX.

That's what it seemed like. You know what I mean?

It's like a Will Smith DMX. Like, why Jalen Brown? You know, it's like we treating Jalen Brown like that.

I want JT to be Will Smith and Chris Rock when they play.

He don't need you. Me too.

Y'all doing slapping, niggas. The point is simple. Tatum, the franchise player on the Celtics, been that way for a while. Obviously, four first-team All-NBAs. When you think Boston Celtics, you think number zero.

Yeah.

You mean to sit here and tell me that he had no clue. He was just in the gym. Shines had to roll over and be like, oh, by the way, you know your boy got traded.

Yeah. Damn, I didn't have any idea that was going to happen. Let me put this towel over my head.

Did you know any of your teammates got traded? Was getting traded?

When they got traded? I knew Jason Richardson was getting traded. I knew he was getting traded. But that day? Yeah, like the day before. The day before. I was hot.

But then they was like, oh, we trading Jay Rich for Kevin Garnett. It was like, we're going to try and change it. I'm like, man, let's just run it back with what we got. But damn, KG. And then the day of the draft, you know what I mean? The day of the draft, they traded him for Brandon Wright.

So I was pissed. So you thought you were getting KG? Well, that's what they were saying. They was like, if we're going to trade, we're going to try and get KG. But we got to put a power. I was like, oh, shit. Like, I don't know what you're telling me. I want to run it back. Like, he was cool. They was like, yeah, we're going to get KG.

They was juicing it. And then the next day was the draft. They traded him for Brandon Wright. That was the worst day in Warriors history.

Your emotions definitely changed when it went from KG to Brandon Wright.

I was pissed. I was hot. But who the fuck is Brandon Wright, bro?

You know what I mean? That's what I'm saying.

I'm looking at who the fuck, why are we giving up the heart and soul of our team for some random dude?

Two guys play eight seasons together, both third overall picks, both on Supermax deals. And you're sitting here trying to tell me that Jason Tatum, the franchise face, doesn't know that.

He may not know where he's going. He may not know, Doug. He may not know. I'm a corner nigga. I know when trade is about to happen. But you don't know everybody.

I didn't know when I was getting traded. Ain't nobody tell me. I swear to God, I found.

Out in the locker room. But at the end of the day, you found out in the locker room? From a reporter. She was like, you know you're getting traded. I was like, man, you bullshitting me. And then I started looking. I'm like, damn, they sent me out. I'm in the locker room. The game is going on. So I called my A. He was like, yeah, man.

I was like, hey, it's like being in the Twilight Zone. It's like being in the Twilight Zone. You're like, all right, man, shit, we about to take this L, hop on a plane, go home. Coach told me he was going to sit me the rest of the year.

Yeah, they do tell you to sign. She said, you know you're getting traded, right? I said, uh-uh, uh-uh. One of y'all gone.

Who?

Excuse me? When? She's like, right now. Your whole shit flipped. You hate everybody.

So you can imagine how Jalen Brown felt when we got traded.

But the thing is, If you're asking, let's just say when he was going for Giannis, they said, hey, we're going to trade him for Giannis.

Right? You understand that. And then it don't happen.

Everyone in basketball knew he was going to get traded after that.

You don't need to. Yeah, for sure. You don't need to tell. Yeah, once you have to trade once, they try to get rid of you. I can tell you this.

I don't know unless him and Paul George was tight. I don't know if he said, yeah, we're going to trade him to Philly. You probably didn't know that part of it. You're going to fade him to Philly for Paul George. There's no way he says, oh, yeah, let me do that. Hell, no, I'm not going to trade him down the street where I got to face a nigga four times.

You're not trying to trade your road dog, dog.

No, you're trying to get him out of what somebody's saying.

The dudes you go hard with, you ain't.

But I'm just saying if you try to make it from there, you're not going to tell me because obviously it didn't happen for Giannis. You're not going to convince me, send him down the street. So if Jason Tatum said, yo.

I found out right there like everybody else. He probably did. He probably did. Because Jason Tatum been like, if you don't get Giannis. Because it ain't like you in the team politics. It ain't like the team calling you and shit.

Because he'd be like, if you don't get Giannis, don't trade him. Like, that's the only person I would trade Jalen Brown for.

No, JT, because he had said that. Let's slow down. We're going to slow down just a little bit. You said, I only want to go to Orlando.

There's only a few people in the NBA right now that has.

Information.

There's only a few stars that's like, hold on, nah, I don't want that trade. Or you have to run it to them for trade.

Is Jason Taylor one of them?

Yes.

I don't know. Yes. Could be. Yes.

Could be, but not down the street. There's no nigga that's my teammate you're going to trade him to an enemy. He's not going to vouch for that. Bro, he's not vouching for that. Even if they come to you, he's not vouching for that.

So you're going to be like, hell no. You ain't vouching for that.

There's only a few players. Wimpy can do that right now.

Joker. Jokic. Luka. Luka. They didn't even do that for Luka, buddy. Steph, if he felt like it. Not in Dallas, they didn't. Steph got the stuff. Shea. Shea can do it. I don't know. I think that might be. You got to go to Steph. Cooper Flag, maybe. Yeah, he'll have power. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I mean, any young boy will have power, but it's not like, hey, I'm not signing my extension or get me the fuck out of here if you're going to do that.

There's only like a few people. There's only a couple people. There's always only a few, a handful.

Everybody else, y'all ahead, but y'all just going to accept.

What we bring. Bingo. So we hear Brown's comments, and like I said, very sneak dissy. There he stands. And no pause, too. He's from a great family, so we can't have B because he's from a great family. He didn't say no pause, too.

But he did say he needs to stay ready at all times. That feels a little crazy.

Stay ready for that meat all the time. Stay ready, damn, all the time? This can go either way. When I open, when I sleep? This can go either way. Stay ready for that meat all the time. He got some meat for you at all times. That's what he said. Stay ready. I got some meat. Sleep. Even when you sleep, I got meat. That's what he said. All the time. You come from a good family, so I know you'll take it.

I know one thing.

When we play, there's only one nigga on the court that can take 40 shots.

Oh, no, no. They both could on that day. No, you can't. The only way you're going to take 40 shots to match me. Man, LeBron going to let that man do what he wants.

If LeBron and Embiid is not playing and Max is not playing.

Maxie don't give a fuck about your feud. Maxie got his own shit going on. They would sacrifice that. Listen, Maxie ain't sacrificing shit. Maxie likes his. Whoa, whoa.

I'm talking to him.

I'm not stopping my drive, bro, bro, to fill your ego. Are we trying to win the championship or are we trying to figure out these egos right here? Because I'm leading. I'm damn near in the league and scoring.

I'm not turning this down for that.

Yeah, I can tell you that for damn sure.

Walker Kessler went back to Utah.

How'd that work out for you? Kessler went back to Utah. We're like, oh, Kessler about to kill him. Look, I'm not playing that shit. It's easy work right there. You better hope I miss. That's different. That's different. That's different. You better get it off the ground. You better have 25 rebounds. That's different. That's different. No. This is Jay's game.

The only way you're going to sacrifice if they don't fix it.

And Gilby putting his brain in the play. Yeah. He's crazy, bro. He said, I'm coming to the game. I bet you don't get 40. Yeah. Jason Tatum ain't going to shoot no 40 times, dude. Against Philly, you think so? He's going to have to. I take a bet on that one. You've been getting called out by everybody. So as cool as you just trying to pretend. You're going to run it up. He got you. You already know. Paul George.

Paul George don't like to meet this.

Paul George is going to.

Be like, hey, I got you.

Right? You know, Derek, where you got them? The whole team is built for them.

So they going to fucking David Robinson this nigga. They going to David Robinson him.

He has a perfect team.

He got nobody on there with an ego.

He got nobody on that team with an ego. They don't got nothing to do. We just giving him the ball. He said, I'm going to take 40 shots. He took 23 in the first game, 26 in the second game.

They play for the first time November 10th in Philly.

They selling tickets out there. That means shit. Hey, dude, I can't. When do they play, man? Tuesday, November 10th in Philly.

Let's go.

First meeting. Let's go.

First one in Boston, I believe, is January 21st.

Do they guard each other or just JB guard JT? They're going to guard each other. JB is going to definitely guard JB. Oh, he's got to guard the whole game after this. So is JB putting a little too much? Because he already said at training camp, media day.

It's fun.

I got some games double circled on the calendar.

Yeah, he want action. Yeah. He wants to prove. Is he setting himself up to get clowned? Hell no. If he gets clowned. Not if y'all believe in Philly.

Because you got to think, Philly going to have his back too.

Yeah. They going to want him to win that. They going to want him to shine. But see, this is going to be. It's a rivalry. Come on. This is going to be the problem though. Yeah.

Because you know when it's a personal between the two.

That win don't matter. It don't matter at all. That win don't matter.

If you scored 10 and y'all win and I gave you 50, I don't want to give up.

I got the game. W. That W shit don't work. Nah, you better come with it. You better come with it.

If Jason Tatum wins the game and Brown shut his ass down and he only got 15, you got a team win.

No, no, it depends.

This ain't no team. Yeah, don't be running to your team. What does Philly whooping their ass, though?

That's what I'm saying. What does Tatum have? But what if you lose by 30? Does Tatum have 50?

You're losing by 30, and Tatum just still out there shooting.

That don't mean anything. Are you guarding?

Tatum has 50, and Jalen Brown has 30.

Is that even? Are you guarding? Hey, hey, if.

Tatum has 50 and Jalen Brown has 30, is that even nice?

And the Sixers win by 20. Yes, that's even. What's the threshold?

Both can drop the nuts just a little bit. You can drop it just a little bit.

What is the threshold?

How much can the Southerners lose by if Tatum has 50?

Even if Close game.

They got to be within 10 to 15.

Brown has to be 30 plus.

No.

He has to have 30 plus. No.

You sitting there with 20, no. 20 and Tatum got 20, you good. No, I said 50. He said 50. Oh, I'm talking about 40. Let's just be conservative. Because at the end of the day, we know who's supposed to win. Philly, all day. Yes, all day. Yes, all day. All day.

Don't stand on your team's success. Don't stand with LeBron, James, Maxie, and B.

Take the spotlight.

Take the spotlight on this.

Don't take the... They was in second. They was in second. That's what we want to see. They was in second. That's what I want to see. How about this?

I want you to come out and you got so much ball, say, hey, and B, Maxie, LeBron, y'all sit.

I got this. For what? Huh? Just so they can go one-on-one. Make it fair. Make it fair.

Do the shit you and Kobe did.

Do the shit you and Kobe did. That was a nasty second game. That was a nasty second game. That was a nasty second game. That was a nasty second game. In D.C. was a nasty game.

I was at a nasty game.

I was shooting everything. Missing everything, though.

Bro tapped me on my ass and said, you wanted this.

Oh! After the 60. Don't even look at this. Don't even look for the ball. I heard. Don't even look for the ball. This was a 101. Oh, when you came to L.A.? Yeah. Oh, yeah. No, no, no. After the 60.

When people always talk about what was your best game, I always say the second game when I had 39.

Uh-huh. I was 10 for 29. Yeah. But. I was getting there.

But.

He was going. Him and his team.

They set out a point to stop me. And I'm saying, hey, I don't give a fuck about it. You're not stopping me. I'm going.

If we're going to battle, we're going to battle. You can have all that backline defense, all that. I'm coming. I'm going.

I'm doing what I'm going to do. Stop me from scoring 30 by any means.

I'm not supposed to win. Actually, I don't give a fuck about this win. Hell yeah, we lost. But I can tell you that. I made them twerk. Yeah, that's it. They supposed to win.

I think I was about 10 for 29. It was somewhere.

Yeah, yeah. I remember y'all talking about it. You know what I mean? He's like, I'm guarding you. I'm stopping you. You know what I mean? It's personal, yeah.

I want to go see if you're going to defend yourself. Now.

But you didn't guard him, though.

Huh?

You didn't guard him. Shit. Two plays. You see, that's that bullshit. That's what I want to see.

What? You?

That's not what you do? What the fuck is wrong? Like, he even said, like, I knew he was on some bullshit.

I knew he was on some bullshit when this happened.

So there was a fast break. And I stopped to play. All right, take it out. So everybody, good foul, good foul, Karan.

He literally said, that's the dumbest foul I've ever seen.

He's like, you guarding me, right? He's like, yeah. You're going to need all six of your fouls tonight. You just wasted one on Adam.

See?

You're right.

You're going to need all six of that because he look like he.

On one tonight.

I know.

You had 37 in that game, and you were 9 for 29.

But three for 15 for three, so I salute you for that.

15 threes? 15 threes back then? No, you had to.

So, man, everybody was going to guard me.

You can't get in the paint. They want to guard me? Hey, hey. Y'all want to see the highlights? Some of those just chumped, too. You want to see the highlights? No, I've seen it. I was moving. I was getting busy. It was nasty. Come on, man. 15 people guarded me. Fifteen. Yeah! I was about to say. It was their five, four of my teammates, three refs. I was about to say. He didn't see this nigga. I hate that shit. I'm over here.

Don't say that shit while I'm shooting. I'm saying, yo, I'm over here. They already knew this was about to be a selfish game.

That's the worst shit you could do.

Y'all seen it in the locker room. This is why we're about to do these first two plays. Mid-four, somebody be like, I hate that shit.

So back to the topic at hand. The topic at hand, that's about to be Tatum. But let's bring it all back, tie it all together.

It's lamb chops.

If Jalen Brown's beef, or I mean little lamb chops with some gravy, is that more with Tatum or with the Celtics or a combination of both? Because it feels like he's got misguided anger right now.

No, it's everybody. It's where he started your career.

Where you got really good, you moved to an elite level, you got every accolade that you could possibly get for this organization. And it feel like, damn, y'all still didn't fuck with me. Y'all didn't really fuck with me when I was there. Y'all was trying to trade me when I was there.

And I still did all that. And all he probably need is.

The Celtics PR, if the Celtics PR would have stepped up or been as supportive as they are for Jason Tatum, all it is is you got two superstars. You got, you know, Jason Tatum. You got the Jordan deal. And, you know, of course, you're going to have all the media and shit like that. And Boston is, you know, like we say with the homies in the pen, they sympathize.

You know, so they're going to sympathize. They're going to sympathize.

You know what I mean?

The Celtics are going to sympathize with Tatum. And that means Brown going to be kind of left, you know, in isolation.

You know what I mean? Or another part.

And as I said, they both was getting, at the same time, they're both getting disrespected from all aspects of the league itself. And I'm sitting here like, if you really look at it, right, it's like, we see your numbers. We're going to give him the Eastern Conference Finals.

Piss him off. Going to the finals. We see the numbers.

We're going to give them the finals.

Right?

I got the numbers for you, Gil. So Tatum averaged 22 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists. Shot 38% from the field, 26% from 3. Jalen Brown averaged 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists. Shot 44% from the field. Shot 24% from 3. But also guarded. Guarded the best player. Yeah, that looked crazy. It looked it.

They should have got co-MVPs. They should have got co-MVPs. Now, you should have seen the voting.

So people that vote, which is kind of fucked up, the people who voted for the Eastern Conference Final, two of them voted against him in previous matches up when he.

Tried to give. It was the.

When he won Eastern Conference Final as MVP, they gave it to.

The year they played the worst?

Nah, maybe. They gave it to Jimmy Butler. Dude was like, yeah, you know... I mean, Jimmy Butler kind of stood out more in this series.

Oh, yeah. Yeah, they beat him. Yeah, so the same people are voting. Like, I don't like him personally. Yeah, they just don't like him. Yeah. But, damn. But, listen, this is good. This is good. This is a good rivalry. This is going to be a great rivalry. I want to be honest. After what we've seen last year. It's up.

It's up. After what we've seen last year.

After what we've seen these first couple games to show he got a better package than he did last year. Yeah. I want him on his own team. I wish he did go to Milwaukee. Because that's all.

Him right there. That would have been fair. No, I'm... Why? No, I mean, for him to just dominate. Yeah. He ain't rolling with Milwaukee. I'm just talking about dominating.

I mean, dominating. Like, when you're talking about where he's going right now, He's worse off than he was before. He don't get to spread his wings the way he want to.

Spread your wings. Let me see your bow fly.

I feel like November 10th, Tuesday, November 10th is going to be.

It's exciting because if you want your narrative to be Jalen Brown, it's exciting knowing one has a super studded team and the other one doesn't.

But that's what's exciting for me because if Tatum gets that win.

But what I'm saying is, like, okay, 10% chance he might get that win. That's a 10% chance. So it's already a really big lopsided game. This Super Studs against this team. So trying to bank your money on who dominates who, I mean, is that what we.

One person. I mean, they both had a disadvantage in the game anyway.

One is at a disadvantage because his.

Team is better. And the other one is because the team is better.

Do you think Jalen Brown needs better PR? Because he makes the news headlines a lot. Like with shoes, I think he could have a better shoe.

Yeah, his shoe coming out. He got his own shoe. He could have some commercials and all this. But that's now. That wasn't him.

But last year moving forward, like he got this stuff with.

All the beef with Stephen A.

Even not making the Olympics, like a commercial behind that.

If he had the right people, I think he could have. He's launching his shoe, so we don't know what his shoe commercial is. Did he try to get Tatum's PR too? No, you know. Did he compliment him?

The same thing with Brunson. When you just look at their game and you're just judging them here, they play with the attitude, right? You don't see anything else from them, right? So what ended up happening last year while Jalen's going viral for the hair and all that stuff, he's podcasting at the.

Same time now. He's streaming. Doing streams. Now you get to actually look.

At him outside of basketball and say, oh, shit.

I like this dude. He's funny.

I like him.

He smiles. So you get this whole different vibe from him. Right?

So now everyone's like, whoa, this ain't the same guy y'all keep talking about.

This ain't the militant.

Yeah, he's smart, but it's not like y'all making it seem like he's an asshole smart.

Very strategic with that screaming. But that's what I'm saying. I like watching him. When he's streaming. Controlling his narrative, controlling his marketing.

He gives you honesty, but it ain't like what they made it seem.

Yeah, he's not... Think of a commercial, Lamb Chops. Lamb Chops commercial would be crazy, bro.

You need to go sign some Lamb Chops. Dog. Like, it's actually in Philly, too. You know, like, lamb chops going to go in Philly.

Like, you know, because he's like, you know, I'm a wolf and you probably the lamb.

Yeah.

That's what he's kind of saying. You got to come back here.

Lamb. Lamb. Little lamb. Little lamb. No pork chops in Philly. Lamb chops, baby.

That was double entendre. That's for the Philly people. That's what I was saying. Pork chops and gravy, I'm very familiar with. Lamb chops is more for the Philly people. We ain't going to do no pork over here. Let's keep this thing moving. Time to try and finesse some bread on Polymarket. This is Put That On Something We're going to give you a trade on the Polymarket app.

You got to pick a side and put that on something. So Jason Tatum made first team All-NBA four times in his career, Swaggy. Did it four straight seasons from 2022 through 2025. So that.

Streak was snapped last season when he only played 16 games while recovering from an Achilles injury. So right now, only 2% of traders on Polymarket think Tatum will make first team this season with a whopping 99% predicting he will not. Let's take it to the couch. Swaggy, you're a big Jason Tatum fan. Will Jason Tatum make first team All-NBA this season? A lot of good people competing for it. Ty Jerome in the mix as well.

Ty is tight. It's tough. Ty Jerome in the house. Did General Brown make it last year? He made first. Second team.

Second team finished sixth in MVP voting. It's hard when Luka dropping 50.

He was dropping 50 when he made it last time.

I know, but.

Well, that's what I'm saying. But both of them was in first. They was in second place, too, though. But the team, nobody thought they was going to. So, I'm going to say. Fuck it, I'm saying, yeah, that's my dog.

That is your dog. You think Jason Tatum will make first team Olympia? All right, BD, let's shift over to you. Will Jason Tatum make first team Olympia, his fifth first team this season, if he's able to accomplish it?

How do they rate first team? Who was on the first team last year? Can you tell me who was.

On the first team? Luka, Wimby, Jokic, SGA.

Yeah, Jokic, Wimby, Shea, Luka, Cade. So that was the first time they took three guards.

That was the first time they took three guards. And they didn't even play all the games. Positionless. So it is now positionless? It's always been positionless. Okay. Wink, wink. Always.

When we fill it in, it's positionless. When I get that piece of paper, God damn it, I'm going to tell.

You who's in this. No, I have to say no. I do say he makes second, third.

I do, yeah, for sure. First team is, you know, you got, man, that's just stacked. You got Giannis. Giannis is going to finish. First team. Shea going to finish first team. Joker going to finish first team. Luka going to finish first team. And then that last seat is up for grabs. But you can see a Devin Booker being first team this year. Somebody like that. Like it could be a newcomer. Just like how it was Cade.

I don't know. Who else? It was a few people. Ant-Man.

Jalen Brunson, Ant-Man. You got Ant-Man could be first team. You got Brunson that could be first team. If he can get it, you know, once the Knicks start getting it together. I'm not tripping on this first week, dog. Just 0-3 starts, 3-0 starts. I mean, shit, you seen that with my writers. You know what I mean?

Like, you know, in the NBA season, we want to see what that record is in December. Right? Ty Jerome is going to make the first team.

Ty Jerome in the house.

Leading the league in scoring. He's going to be the most improved player, though. Average of dub last year. People are sleeping on Ty Jerome. Former Warrior. Another player the Warriors let. Let go. We'll move on to you.

Do you think Jason Taylor will make first team all NBA this season?

I'm going to say no.

Because... Because now it's Jokic and Victor. Yeah.

Before it was Jokic and Giannis.

Yeah. Now it's going to be Jokic, Giannis. And Victor. And Victor. And Luke. And Shea. And Shea. Yeah, Shea is guaranteed.

Unless he beats out one of them, right? Because his forward spot now goes to Giannis.

Yeah. So.

He's going to be on the second team. So that 2% is about right.

Do you think so?

If he had a year like they had last year, I think they would put Tatum in before they do Brown.

If Tatum had the same year as Taylor Brown. Brown is not making first team. I know, but I'm talking about what they did.

If Tatum had a Brown.

Year last year, would he be first team? Yes.

Last year?

Yeah, absolutely. Same exact number, same exact result.

If Brown didn't play, but Tatum played with Brown's numbers, would Tatum be first team?

And cut out Cade? Probably. Yeah.

That's all. So now you see. Conspiracy. Probably cut out. PR. Yeah. PR. That's good PR. Probably cut out Kate.

I mean, that's the only one that's basically new.

All right.

Polymarket. The most accurate sports odds and forecast in the world. All right. Let's come back out west. So Luka Doncic.

And the Snowtime Lakers have given the team reason for optimism so far in the post-LeBron era. Sunday, Luka put on an absolute offensive masterclass at Snowtime, took a trip in the heart of Caucasus, taking on the Jazz in Salt Lake City, with Walker Kessler making his return to Utah for the first time since being traded. Luka secured the first 50-piece of this young NBA season and made an early case for a potential MVP season. Let's take a look at the highlights if we can, please. So Slovenian Jesus. Exploded for 52 points, 10 dimes, 8 rebounds, helping the Lakers overcome an 18-point deficit to improve to 3-0 this season. They have had a very grueling schedule to start. Warriors, Clippers, and Utah Jazz to start.

Hell yeah, baby. Very grueling.

The Jazz came out firing in the first half, jumped out to a 47-29 lead after the first quarter. Luka had 17 points in that frame. Austin Reeves helped spark the Lakers' comeback, scoring 15 of his 29 points in the second quarter. Lemon Daddy was four for five from three in the game as the Lakers put up 45 points in that second quarter.

Okay, Luka with the defense. And in that second quarter, Luka capped things off.

Shooting this shit.

You already know what time it is. Wave everybody off. Just like Jay-Z did. Made him fall. Oh, no, no, no, no.

That's slow right there. Now, you better watch him go fast. Right there. That three gave the Lakers their first lead of the game.

That was fast.

Nah, there's when he took off and went on a break.

Luka continued to do his thing in the second half. But it looked good. Hey, man, you can't cook your chicken fat. You can't cook your chicken fat. You got to slow roast them shits. Slow roast. So Luka Magic was on full. You ever taste a slow roast of chicken nuggets? Ah, yeah.

So Lakers down three. Luka helped jumpstart the game with a game-changing 14-5 run. Scoring 13 of the Lakers' last 19 points, including back-to-back threes to seal the win. Luka had eight threes in the game.

Game with 17 for 30 from the field, 10 for 11 from the line. Luka and Austin Reeves win a combined 21-24 from the charity stripe in the game. So Luka joins Elgin Baylor and Jerry West as the only players in Lakers history with a 50-point 10-assist, 5-rebound game. Luka also became the fastest Laker to eclipse 3,000 regular season points. Doing it in 95 games to break Kareem's previous mark of 109 games.

Damn. With no hook shot.

You got the Slovenian Jesus jersey on the authentic game worn. Smells like Slovenia. What did Luka show you with his 50 piece on the jazz? What did he show me?

What did he show you? He showed me everything. He showed me everything. Are we surprised?

He's been doing this Every single season. Man, I mean, he's gifted. Like, watching some of these guys go up and down that court, even though they have flaws, a lot of flaws, of just the purity of, like, the game.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just, they're gifted, man. You just be like, Jesus Christ.

Like, the shots some of these guys can make over and over, the passes, I mean, you know, how he gets his shot off. He's really fundamentally sound. That's why when people say, Larry Bird couldn't play in this era. The problem with that argument, like I would have said before, yeah. Now you're watching the slow guys, Luka. It's the same person.

You just update their skill, the information of moves that they can do.

It's the same shit.

Man, I'm really excited about this team going forward.

Are you excited now? Because you said previously, Gil, that you were going to be able to get tickets for the Lolo.

They lied to me.

You didn't have faith in the snot?

I should have known when the color lightened.

Up, tickets was going sky high. The tickets was going sky high. Like, I hate when people say, oh, it was against the Utah Jazz. It is, yeah.

Usually all high scoring numbers is against a sorry-ass team.

You're supposed to. Sometimes you got to do that.

I'm pretty sure the 100, the 72, the 60, I'm pretty sure they was all.

Against some sorry-ass teams. You got to do that.

When Wimby got his head, when he got his head busted, his ass was a sorry-ass team.

It was. It was sorry-ass. You know what I mean? Bam's 83. Come on, it was a sorry-ass team. It was the Wizards. Don't get me. It was the Wizards.

Huh?

It was the Wizards. The Toronto? The sorry-ass team. Back then.

I mean, you know, I was 60. He was 60, 54.

Mine was on some great-ass teams. But that's neither here nor there. You know what I mean?

So you're 60 more impressive than Bam's 83. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I don't give a fuck about that. It's 60 and 83.

83 is 23 more points. I'm just saying, it's 23 more points.

I'm just saying, my 60, that was a great-ass team. My 54 in double overtime, they was on a 16-game winning streak, and it was number one. My 54, great Utah Jazz team.

You know what I mean?

Now, if I got hot against a sorry-ass team, 120.

Not 101, 120. That's the best thing about when we're not playing. We can just say whatever. Now you click, baby. We can say whatever. We can say whatever.

120. 120.

My career high was on Utah and Sac. 17, 18? I was 50. 49. He did not have 49. 49?

Yeah.

Don't look it up. Don't look it up.

What was your career like?

I know you're capable. It was in that ring. It was in that ring. No, no, no. You were capable. For sure. You were capable, for sure. Off the bench, though. It was off the bench, too, though. You didn't really get much time. That's killer. Yeah. That's killer. Off the bench 40-piece?

Yeah.

Yeah, that's killer. Off the bench, 40? Come on, dude. That's eight minutes you ain't done. I'm pretty sure Jamal Crawford did that. Lou Will did that. Yeah, that's all I'm saying. It's the leads. It's the leads. It's the leads. Well, yeah, Luca went to the. I think my career high was 40. The heart of Carcass? That was it. Salt Lake City on the west coast. Snowing, yeah.

I just want to see Luka do this against the OKC. I don't want him to get hurt and shit.

He can't do that against OKC.

No, because we be seeing these games that get us hype.

Like last year, we went on these winter streaks.

We played OKC. We lost by 50. Luka's like, oh, I'm doing a half. I don't want to see this shit. Don't get me hyped up.

I think Luka's different this year, man. And we beat 0-3 teams so far. It wasn't 0-3 when I played him? It was.

We were 0-0 when I whooped that first seed. That other team was 1-0-1 when I whooped it. And the Warriors. The Warriors got– who's on the Warriors?

You said the Warriors going to win.

I didn't say the Warriors going to win. I never said no shit like that. The Warriors going to beat the Lakers?

You said that. Who the Warriors have? We don't know who they got. It didn't matter. Gym teachers? It didn't matter. Fucking PE teachers from the local school.

So you want to see him do– so when he averaged 34 a game, And he played against everybody in the league.

I want to see this on the latest.

When he was whopping Kawhi Leonard and Paul George all up and down the playoffs.

He ain't been the same since Jalen Brown got to him. That's all I'm saying. I want to see... Laker, Luka, not Dallas.

That's what I don't like, the narratives. I'm saying.

If you go play by play, Jalen Brown didn't stop from scoring.

I'm saying he put the world on Luka defense notice. But that was everybody else.

But it was him.

Drew Holliday played the best defense. No, Al Horford played the best defense. He didn't score on Al Horford. It was 1 for 12 against Al Horford. If you show their percentages, you'll be like, damn. JT, I mean, Brown only guarded him 27 actual times.

Hmm.

During the whole playoff. And he done made somebody. Yaxu is famous now. All the kids is like, I play defense like Yaxu at.

The gym now. That's all I'm saying. Yaxu for me. I got D. I'm just saying. Hey, can we watch the first play? Maybe like Yaxu. Yeah, let's just watch the first play here. I'm Yaxu out here. Let me just watch this first play right here. Pause. Go back a little bit. I'm just saying. My dog, AR. Shout out to AR. Let's go back. Right there, right there. Now, pause.

I love it.

Now, this is what I'm talking about. This is why, this is the problem here. So, let's put Yaxl as number three. And he takes a misfit shot. How many people is guarding me? What?

Yeah, I can't go nowhere, sir. You got the 23 sitting in my lap. You got the big man so I can't space it. So I'm shooting a.

Jump shot because they're forcing me. It ain't got shit to do with you.

Yes. I don't want to hear your mouth. I don't want to hear your mouth. There's three niggas right here, bro.

You're not making me do nothing. I can't go to the middle because he's there. I can't go baseline because he's there. You're not making me do nothing. They're making me. This is great team defense. This is great team wall. This is great team wall.

Guard me by yourself. That is. No, no, no, no, no. Pass it to the open man. I don't want to pass it. Zaire Williams, cut right there, back door. That's an open shot.

I don't want to pass it.

But that would make the defense not do that, though. I don't want to pass it. Okay. You know what else would make the defense not do that? And I got him. I got him. Get out of here. I got him. That helps, too. That helps. It would. Maybe someone do that. Why? You know, I never heard somebody do that. Like, I'm on a one-on-one. Team help right there. Nah, go for it. Go tell them to move. No. I never do that, folks. Y'all get me subbed out? Play two.

And if he scores, it's on your fault, too. I've never seen that. No, I got him. And if he scores, it's on your fault. I got him by myself. You told me to sit him right. Sit him.

Right.

Well, I did it. That is true. Oh, no.

I've never seen nobody wave off the team help.

Like, I got them on the island.

I got them on the island. Now, I don't need no help back there. I got them by myself. I'm going to stop them.

Yeah, never. Get your ass. Damn, that's the first play of the game. I told you. When he came in, he said, that's a one-on-five.

That's a one-on-five, buddy.

But pass it is in. But that's what I'm saying. But that's the first play of the game. Goddamn. But that's what I'm saying. If Luka misses his shot... That's a one-on-five, dude. And George says, yeah, you can't score on me. That's one-on-five. Why would he?

That ain't even a box.

But that's what I'm saying.

You're saying you're stopping somebody with a whole team out there preventing me from scoring. You know, that's what I'm saying. You know, I get it. But he's the type of player. You got to be a Tony.

Allen, Bruce Bowen type of dude to be, you know, that's why I like Jay McDaniels.

You know what I mean? Because he don't need the team defense. Yeah, what's happening? Let's get it cracking. You know what I mean? Like the team defense. No, no, Yaxel, he has the tools. No, no, no, for sure he has the tools to do it.

But I can tell you like how he plays defense like this, he's going to get torched in this game. Oh, yeah, you can't do that. Watch, when Draymond Green misses games, when Draymond Green misses games and he don't have no back line, he's going to get blown by. See, Draymond Green, like Draymond Green. Green, when he sees him.

He got to figure out. Hopefully, Draymond will teach him.

You know what I mean?

He got the size of the body. If Draymond can give him some ism. He a big dude. He can cover.

I do want to say one thing about these Lakers, man, and I think I said this. It's going to get the Lakers are going to be a better team because now you can actually coach and have an imprint. Like having LeBron there, you don't really have a philosophy. You don't really have a system. Now with LeBron gone, it's like, OK, I'm the coach. I can build around. You saw what it looked like with Austin Reeves and Luka last year without LeBron.

Right. Mm hmm. And. It was like people got really excited.

Now you're looking at Luca coming into this year and it's like, OK, this is a different Luca. Just on that last play with him, just ripping the ball and stealing the ball, even getting down on the floor. It's like you can tell that he is stepping up to a different type of leadership.

And he won it.

So even if I can't play defense, I can give a defensive effort. Then you start thinking about all those versatile dudes that the Lakers got around at the 2, 3, 4, 5. Like, it just gives him so many different pieces to work with. When you watch him play one-on-five, it's like, well, shit, anybody could have been on the court.

Anybody could be on the court. Now they got the right pieces.

They got the right versatility to come down to be able to subsidize his lack of defense, right? But all he has to do now is give it effort, and it looked like he's willing to give an effort or willing to be in the right space. So, you know, I'm excited for Luka more so to see his leadership evolve. Like, people are not going to be able to just say, like, oh, he just don't play defense. Like, I think he's going to turn into, you know, like, not a great defender, but somebody who's not a liability like he used to be.

Yeah. Like you said, you're trying to figure out how to hate. I am. I'm just saying, when have... I am. I am a hate right now. But when have... When have... When.

Did it change when you could just know somebody, don't play defense, and you just still, like, nobody cares about it?

Like, when was the last person to do that? Mark Lee didn't play no defense. I'm just saying, like, it's clear as day, though. Like, all offense... Like, it's all.

Now, there's never been a dude like Luka who just don't play.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. At all. And they just let him have all the minutes of him.

It's never been pointed out.

Gil, you can't name one dude in our era that played absolutely no defense.

Like, no defense at all. Steve Nash. Nah, Steve Ness tried. He tried, bro. He tried. Nah, he was running around and tried.

The whole team was like, look, we're going to try not to foul, and then we're just going to go up and down.

But, like, this blatant, though. It's been blatant sometimes.

But that's why I think this year is different, dog, because, like, all he got to do is make an effort. And we've always said that throughout the years. Like, damn, why don't he get an effort? I also feel like a lot of it is coaching, right? If I don't have to be held accountable for defense, then why the fuck am I playing defense in the first place? Like, man, I'm not about to waste money. Like, if I don't have to play defense and you tell me I don't have to and all I got to do is worry about scoring, man, that's.

A whole different mentality. You'll never play defense. Absolutely.

You know, you'll just be opportunistic. But you know this dude got good instincts. And you know he's big.

He got long arms. So just give it effort, right, or be in the right position.

And so I think it's going to work for the Lakers because now we get to see J.J. Redick coach a team and have complete autonomy with a team. Now we get to see Luka Doncic. have control of a team, you know, and it's all based on him. Austin Reeves is a phenomenal player. I think he is a great byproduct, will be an all-star, because now all the attention is back where it needs to be at the time.

You know what I mean? And so hopefully he evolves.

Into that leader that I think the Lakers are the most slept on team.

And McGill. And the West.

Name that he scored 52 on Utah. He had to score 52 for the Lakers to win on Utah.

Is that concerning? I don't have to score. But that's great. But that's also understanding. What would you be in May if I got to do that every day?

Today is the day that Walker Kessler, and they ain't going to let him get layups at the rim.

They ain't going to let him get, you know what I mean?

They're about to take all the rest of this shit away and say.

You beat me scoring points. That's what I got to do.

Look, Utah don't mind.

Luka scoring 50. It was not going to let Walker Kessler score.

Yeah.

They didn't want him having no dunks. They probably said, man, he better not get a dunk. And Luka was like, that's fine. Shit, now I get to really go to work.

He's just so unstoppable because he can handle the ball. He got vision, right?

And he play at a pace that everybody's playing so fast that it fucks up your brain when you're moving that fast and you got to slow down.

You don't know what to do. You know what I'm saying? You don't know what to do because you're still trying to speed up. Yeah.

Do you think there's just a sense of ease now with the Lakers? And it's not a knock to LeBron, but LeBron obviously been in the league a very long time, seen and knows everything.

J.J. Redick, new coach. They were hosting a podcast together. This is not, I'm saying, a lack of respect, but LeBron was going to do whatever. LeBron going to do what he going to do.

Everywhere you go, you have to adjust to LeBron as a coach, as players, as a superstar, as a superstar adjacent, as assistant to a superstar. Everybody got to adjust to LeBron. Whether you got a podcast with him and everything is all great, when you get in that locker room, you can't tell LeBron nothing.

He done seen it all. You kind of need him. As a young coach, it's.

Like you kind of be holding to LeBron, right, until you can actually get your own shit and write your own shit. And now, like, LeBron is gone. Like, you don't have, like, you can be the captain, right, without, you know, the main character, you know, running the energy. You know, like, running the energy. Like, you look at the Lakers now, you know, it's all hoop. Now all you're talking about the Lakers is hoop. And that's usually what we used to.

You know what I mean?

I mean, you know, we used to some shenanigans and off-the-court drama, but that's just, you know, the Laker reality show. But, you know, you come into the season, you're thinking the Lakers and hoop now.

Lakers, very favorable schedule to start the season. That's going to be killing for them.

That's how I say you should always do the teams you're pushing. Right?

Like the Knicks. The Knicks, their schedule should have been like this. Right? Give them what you think would be easy wins early.

You waited for LeBron to come on whatever team. Then you should have gave the defending champs a schedule where they can run off six, seven, eight.

So the narrative is going back to back. Yeah, but it's just hard right now. Like, think about it. Like Memphis 3-0 is just hard to go.

And like, we don't know what's easy because a young team right now, they can get off to a good start and they can be the better. Like when the season start, a team coming off a championship, right? Similar to the Knicks, they had an amazing run, like the craziest run we ever expected. So unlike any other champion, they've had probably seven times more media opportunities, shit that they have to do even to get back. Like when they come back, it's another parade. So like you got to kind of wash off the last year. So my whole thing is everybody as the champion, they're gunning for you, especially these young teams.

Right?

Like, you look at Memphis, you look at, you know, Dallas before Cooper Flag got hurt, I think. But all of these young teams, they got a chance to beat you early in the year. It's really about, you know this, Gil, when you're looking at October, you're really looking at, okay, what are we doing in November? This is where we got to be by December. October is three, four, five games. November, 15. December, another 15.

You know what I mean? So it starts.

it starts to ramp up and start to cook. You're trying to go, oh, we got 14 games this month. We want to go, you know, 10 and 4, you know, 11 and 3. So you're looking at November. You're looking at December. So maybe the Lakers or the Knicks schedule kind of starts to even up as some of these teams realize, like, oh, you got off to a good start, but it ain't your year right now, dog. Like, you know, we're going to start treating y'all the way y'all need to be treated or giving you, you know, giving certain teams the attention that younger teams, the attention that they need.

But right now, anybody can be beat. Nah. I say the first game can make it tough. The first week of the season is always upset. Because you need like that. No, I don't. Oh, the NBA's back.

3-0.

What does the Lakers say? Hell yeah, we got it, champ. You get to talk. Yeah, yeah. It's a lighter lift. It was Lakers-Warriors. Let me show you how this works. Knicks.

who we know has one of the best, they have the best fan base out there, coming off the championship. Their first game, they played Philly, playing Bron. Then you're playing Boston. Those are two competitive teams. And divisional opponents, too.

Now you're... Yeah. Why are you doing that? Hey, how about this?

Give me motherfucking Brooklyn.

Yeah. Give me Brooklyn. Give me down the street. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Give me down the street so.

The parade, so we can pop our shit, win by 40.

Hell yeah. City on fire. Then that gives a.

Like, what if they start off 3-0 right now? What do you think the Knick media is going to be? What they would have been doing right now?

Yeah. 3-0, we talking our shit. We moving.

So you take a fan base out just because it's... I do not like... Two top-tier teams playing game one, getting a loss early.

I mean, it's good for opening night, but the bill never pans out. The bill never pans out.

Like, whoever won.

The championship, you damn near guaranteed to lose opening night because it's just not your routine, dog.

You running out the tunnel. It's smoke. You got a ring. Like, they ain't got.

A chance to get into that groove until every time they show up, they got to run out the tunnel instead of like, man, let's do the flag. Starting lineup, I'm ready to play. Now you got to walk in the back. Now it's like, yeah, what is this PR community lady talking to me about?

She's not even a part of the game. You know what I mean? Like, I got to go do all this before the game. I can't stretch. Like, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Meet me in December.

Yes.

When it's cracking, yeah. We both like 13-1.

Those two matchups on Christmas look better. then Spurs 0-1 because they play this team.

0-2 because they play this team. Like, it's just like, ah. But I just think the league is just.

Like, it's unpredictable to start because all these young teams, they got a chance because they got young talent.

All the young teams playing all the young teams and all the good teams.

Are playing each other.

That's true. Like, I don't need that at the beginning of the year.

It's basketball season.

Everybody back anyway.

Hey, first game, you do kind of. No, I don't. Let's get it cracking. We are excited.

They could have gave the Knicks Brooklyn an opening night.

We're excited. You know what I mean? We're excited. Argonne State. Argonne State. We're going to give them Golden State on opening night.

We're excited about the season opener. I do not need two juggernauts playing against each other.

You're still going to lose opening night.

Because one, we both know they're not in their– what's the name?

They're not in their– You got to.

Get these– you got to push the division games back because those are the ones that really count.

We played Houston the first game they lost to the Warriors.

Mm-hmm. the ring night. Y'all lost ring night, huh? The same team you went to game seven with. Yeah, y'all lost ring night. It's just dumb. It's just a dumb look. It's not a good look.

It's a really dumb look you playing in knowing that this team thinks they should have won so they're going to go harder. And then it's ring night. Y'all are celebrating.

You want everybody tapping in.

You want everybody tapping in over the night.

But I agree with you, bro. I agree.

If I'm coming off a championship... I do not want to see the team that we just beat the first game of the season. Or who we beat in the conference finals.

Nah, man. This is a celebration, man.

That could be the difference in home court advantage later in the season.

This is a celebration. I want to be in home court.

This is like a second pop.

I want to pop my champagne again.

Yeah, you can't really celebrate after that first night, especially you got.

Philadelphia coming in, too. You can't even enjoy it. All right, we got to wake up and play. Hey, LeBron, I'm over there. No.

Yeah, figure out, figure out, give him my goddamn ring.

Before, man, do a ring ceremony the night before. Let's do an MTV show. Let's do that training camp.

Yeah, man, with an MTV last preseason game. Do something like that, big-ass show, concert. We could have gave them rings out. And then presented them a whole special in the beginning. Every dude just walked by, put his ring in.

Boom, go to the bench. I'm ready to cook.
