All right, well, let's keep this moving. Let's keep this moving.

I'm not where you're going.

Nope.

That motherfucker's a max player.

He's max.

I'm not.

Let's keep this thing moving.

Unless you decide to change my play. It's a different conversation.

We will monitor the Lakers. We'll see if that energy changes at all. It's crazy to hear Lakers.

They might get Jokic.

The way Denver playing.

I think Jokic is on his way. They're going to have to blow that shit up. Denver looks fucking terrible, man.

Let's talk about another team.

He's into it with the fans.

They look terrible, man.

They're booing the man. Yeah.

It's getting a little weird out there.

Are they booing Jokic? They booed him.

They booed the team. They look shitty.

Look, look, look.

The press are on now. Jokic, you don't deserve that shit. You see what I did to Melo. He don't deserve none of that.

For any Hooper want to be a real Hooper, don't have to worry about their fans, boy. Come to death row. But let's stay in the West. The Y Emberwolves were off to their best start since 2019, becoming just the third team in league history to win their first three games by 20 or more points. So Monday they suffered their first loss of the season against the Cavs in Cleveland, second night of a back-to-back, which came with an even more devastating blow. As Shams reported, Anthony Edwards will be undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee this Thursday, expected to miss up to two months, with some reports suggesting his absence could be even longer. Ant-Man was looking like a legit MVP candidate. He was averaging 33 points, five rebounds,

four assists, just dropped 47 on the Cavs Monday night. This is the same knee that bothered Ant last season, forcing him to miss 23 games, including two playoff games, which also made him ineligible for an all-NBA team. So now the Wolves could be without their franchise superstar until December or beyond. And also, Ant will likely be ineligible to make another All-NBA team again this season, which means he will miss out on a four-year, $ 304 million Supermax deal, which sucks for Ant. I'm sure the Wolves are not tripping on that one. But Gil, we'll start with you.

How much does Ant-Man's injury impact the Wolves moving forward? A lot.

I mean, it's your... It's your main guy. It's your MVP candidate. So, you know, when you're talking about banking on getting somewhere, possibly winning the championship, he's the head of that. So him going down, missing two months.

That's just the initial report. Some have said it'll be longer than two months.

I mean, I'm not too worried about that part. Yeah.

Right.

Like, you know, it's not a it's not a season ending injury, but you're going to miss a lot of time. Then you got to get back in the rhythm and whatever offense that you were used to has changed a little bit to fit these guys. But these guys get a little better. So there's a there's a plus to it. So. Will this hurt him in the playoffs? Like I'm I'm I've I said it's season one. And I'm going to say it again as a guy who is a track runner.

And I'm looking at the history of the game, the early 2000s, 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s star players didn't get hurt this much. There's a reason the star is getting hurt this much because what happens is if you're not properly training and getting in shape. And you're just letting them in their summer. looking good, coming to the season, bullshit through training camp, and then go out in the game and play against another superstar, that superstar is going to go 100 for the first time. And that is what's happening. Like, You're Molly. That's why it's the superstars are getting hurt because the superstar speed when the season start is coming out the gate.

Oh, yeah.

Holly coming out the gate.

Right.

These like they're coming out of the gate full and they didn't do it yet. Right. It's like I don't understand how they don't understand this. Your guys are going 50, 40, 60 percent. Right now, they look good. When the game starts and season one counts, they're going 100, but never push the engine to 100. So now you got all these pulls and stuff. Everybody else, option two, they can mosey on through it. The superstar is going 100. And that's why they're going down the most. So it's like, yo, y'all got to... I would make a longer training camp.

Go back to longer training camps. More preseason camps.

Two a days.

And then, yo, or if you don't want to, coaches. Training camps used to be two weeks, right? Yeah, two weeks, two days. It was like a month. All the coaches, make sure your superstars are playing more in preseason then. Right. Because the injuries that they're having, little groin pulls, little hammy hurt, that happens in training camp.

Those are my training camp injuries.

The Wolves were rolling with their starting lineup heavily in preseason. They were? But you just look at the pace of the game now. Like, the pace is absurd.

But that's from analytics.

And you're not.

But I.

Remember watching the season opener with the.

Analytics supports the game being played fast. This is not sustainable. But their bodies is not... Their bodies is not being prepared to do that.

They're pushing the game to be faster while making you do less with your body because it's about rest and recovery.

But if you ain't pushing yourself, what the fuck you rest and recovering from? Too much rest. It's too much rest.

Can they sustain this with him being out?

Yes.

I think so.

They just beat Denver and Edwards out in the playoffs. And they're a better team this year.

I mean, they can just stay. I think they can. Regular season. So now the ball is in Melo's hand with a better cast.

You got Io. You got Io still coming up. They have a good team.

You have Kaminga could potentially take on a bigger role.

I'm just.

I like how y'all trying to talk yourselves into this shit.

No, I'm trying.

I'm trying.

I'm thinking about the.

Anthony Edwards is averaging 40 points a game. That's cool. Has 40 points a game missing. And LaMelo ain't making that up. You lost Nas and Julius during the regular season.

They were good.

That's part of the reason why they also beat Denver. Like, LaMelo ain't making up for those two guys.

Why he not?

Because he's not. The numbers that he ain't making up for those two guys. The numbers that he has now is next to Ant. I think his numbers go up with Ant out. It'll go up, but it ain't going to match what those guys did.

It don't matter.

We're going to have an increase from Io. We're going to have an increase from some of the guys on the bench. You still got a guy like Bones Highland coming off that can put up big numbers. I think they're in a comfortable situation. I don't see them tanking. I mean, we've.

Seen LaMelo do some wonders in Charlotte. Now you got a better cast.

I'm not saying they'll be top two in the West. But they can sustain.

Before this injury, you had them at number three in the West.

If they go 500, they're in a good position. Okay.

They could possibly do that. But where does that land them?

That's the problem.

In the West, I think they're in a good spot.

That's not the problem for them. That's the problem for whoever makes the playoffs and they got to play them first round. Hell yeah. I think they're in the great spot.

Let's say they land six.

As a three seed, you don't want to play them.

Time out. At a 500 team, where does that land you in the West?

The West ain't that great this year, Danny.

But you're dealing with.

The West?

Okay, see. I mean, there's other teams that have... Nope. Injury situations they're dealing with. What I'm saying is when Ant-Man.

I think the best in the West right now with all the injuries, I think Houston slid up to one.

For sure, but they still, you still, there's still good teams in the West.

Okay, let me ask you this.

Let me ask you this.

When Ant-Man comes back, and let's say he comes back healthy, and they're.

Six, right?

Yeah. If you're Spurs at three, are you comfortable with them? Yeah, you're comfortable playing a team first round first round. Yeah after going to the finals.

No, I'm cool No, there were six last season.

Who is this? The only big they got is there Rudy? Well, that was I was I'm cool.

They got the other French kid coming up there. Yeah He's solid. I think he's but he saw possibly better.

He's not damn sure catch the ball They got a strong supporting cast. I think I'm just saying that's the the team you want to play in first round. Well, in the playoffs without him, man. So they've been in this.

That's like what said Antonio.

If you OKC, do you want to see.

Him first round?

But so again, I go back to when you looked at Philly and you predicted before the season what they would be, what did you think?

Philly? Yeah. I think they'd be in the championship.

But like regular season, what do you think they would land?

You know when it was like three, like somewhere around. Why? Because they're going to load. They're going to rest.

They're going to rest.

And it's probably, you still factor in injuries.

Injuries, yeah.

Toronto, where did you factor them at?

Depending on. Oh, I thought it was. No, no, no, no, no.

Once I realized England was gone and it was Kawhi with the rest of the team that can't shoot, I was like, maybe eight, nine, ten.

You thought they were going to be the best. You think they're that low? You thought Toronto would be that low, too?

I always thought they were depending on Kawhi.

Kawhi. I didn't think he had a great supporting cast. No, no, no.

I don't think Kawhi's supporting cast is better than Minnesota's.

Kawhi's supporting cast? No, it's not better than Ant's supporting cast in Minnesota.

I'm just talking about the star in general.

Like, you....

Dictate a lot of what you see in a team growing on their superstar and how healthy they are. That's why Philly, when you look at them, like, depends on what Joel is going to be at.

Yeah, see, but that's the... We don't need.

They don't need Joel.

Listen, and is out right now. How many games LaMelo played in most of his years, his career?

Yeah.

And last year, was he on minute restriction? So it's only a matter of time before LaMelo goes out.

Then we still got Daniels.

I'm not wishing on anybody. I'm not wishing on anybody.

I'll give you my knee. It ain't got a lot of cartilage.

In that month, but it better than yours right now. He missed some games last year. All these superstars miss games. Ant missed games last year. He's going to miss some games at some point. They're going to have some lower seating. Yeah, they're going to be in the playoffs. Nobody wants to play them, but I still think their chemistry is going to be off by the time they're all healthy.

Two months.

And either way, they don't really have many bigs.

What is wrong with it? If you don't.

Have no bigs, I'm one of those top teams. OKC in San Antonio, I'm not scared by Minnesota.

So he's getting an arthroscopic knee surgery. He dealt with runner's knee last. He's the same thing that Steph was dealing with.

He's just getting that motherfucker cleaned out, man. He all right, man.

Usually, I think he could get it back sooner. But two months is like, that says more to me than just a scope.

That's probably worth it. Up to two months, but other reports. So, Sean said up to two months.

If there's a scope, I think you get back in a month. But if you come back, I think they're going to be a solid team. But when the game slows down, I'm not worried if I'm those top two teams. Now, if you're a 4-5 and you can play Lakers and Houston and Denver, you're in a good spot. But you play OKC and San Antonio.

I mean, outside of OKC, San Antonio, Houston.

Yeah, but if you don't have those guys.

What else are we worried? What else are we really worried about?

You got to get seating to be playing against the other team.

I get it.

But outside of those top three teams in the West, let's just talk about the West.

Yeah.

OKC Spurs... Houston as of right now. But, Book, this is what I'm saying.

When you lose these guys on the regular season, you're going to play them first round because they're going to be at 7, 8.

And they're good enough to do it.

They're going to have to play OKC, San Antonio, or Houston.

They're good enough to do it.

I guarantee you San Antonio and OKC won't be excited about that matchup.

You do not want to play the matchup that's supposed to be 1, 2, or 3.

I never saw him as one, two, or three. I never saw him as one.

Two, or three.

Minnesota? I factored in this. They was top three.

I factor in injuries when I do predictions. I don't factor in all these guys going to be 82 games healthy. If that's the case, I have Toronto higher because if Kawhi plays 82 games, guess where they at?

Last. No, get the fuck out here, Gil.

Uh-oh.

You see the rest of the team.

Nick Young, get your shit.

No, I'm just saying.

No, I'm just saying.

I look at the rest of the team.

Scotty and RJ and Kawhi, he plays 82 games with his All-NBA team last year at 65. You don't think that team would be last?

I don't think they compliment him that well, to be honest. They're going to just sit in Kawhi's lap. We got to start talking about fits and shit, too. They would win games, bro, in the East. I'm just looking at shooting. I'm just looking at they just can't shoot. They can't shoot.

They can play defense and run.

They're going to get steal and get fucking buckets.

I'm just going to double Kawhi.

I'm just doubling Kawhi.

I feel you, but if he played 82 games.

I'm doubling Kawhi as soon as he crosses half court. We stand in the trap. Y'all do what y'all do behind.

Disrespecting Scottie and R.J.

Barrett.

They haven't proven anything. They just took Cleveland to seven games last year. Ingram was there.

Ingram was there. Ingram was there.

He didn't play. Scotty and RJ were the leading scorers. They still haven't proven anything, though, Danny. They proved to me they can score at basketball. That's what I know. RJ did it in New York. He did it in Toronto. Scotty did it last year in Toronto. RJ did it so much he was on the first thing smoking on it.

That's because they went and got OG.

Right.

Something better.

Doesn't mean he's not a bad player.

He's not a good player. He's just not a proven player. That's all I'm saying.

He proved in the playoffs. Look at the numbers in the playoffs last year. But that's not next to Kawhi. It might be better. He's getting less defenders.

Shit changes.

What is his numbers in the playoffs?

But he was there.

There's a reason why he was traded.

17.

Tell me his numbers in the playoffs.

17.

Tell me Scottie and RJ's numbers in the playoffs, please.

Well, who are they doubling? The guys who's scoring, Scottie. No, they're doubling Ingram.

Nobody's doubling.

They wasn't doubling Ingram, bro. It wasn't double because he didn't have to. He wasn't in rhythm. He had an ankle injury. He wasn't playing well.

I mean, he took 23 shots. Okay.

He was forcing him up because he was trying to get, like, he needs to score. The reason why they traded for him, gave him that extension, because he was supposed to be the guy. He didn't prove to be that. RJ actually proved it more than he did in the playoffs, and they traded him.

Okay.

If he was the guy, they would have kept him and let go of RJ or somebody else.

Okay. Now we have a problem here. We're saying he had an ankle injury, so we know why he was underperforming. I'm trying to figure out how do you factor in, oh, he has an ankle injury. He played horrible because of the ankle injury, but we got to trade him because he played horrible.

I'm with you, but before the injury, he wasn't playing well either. And then there was a history of him not playing well before that in the playoffs when he was in New Orleans too. So he had a history of it.

But he was hurt in New Orleans too?

I'll give that. Again, just like you're done with Kawhi because of injuries, it's a part of the game. You've got to factor that in.

So his only healthy playoff.

No, but if Kawhi played 82 games, they'd be top 14.

Yeah, that's a big if.

They'd be better than Cleveland. They'd be better than Detroit.

But you saw the same thing with the Timberwolves when you found him. They're better than Boston.

Fair enough.

But when you're healthy?

82 games of Kawhi? I don't know what that looked like.

Exactly.

We don't fucking know.

I mean, that's a hypothetical.

That's what I'm saying. He's one of the best two-way players in the game. And last year, he had his career high in numbers last year.

And, Dan, you factor those situations in when you look at teams and you rank them. So you had that with the Timberwolves.

You have to.

When I look at Philly, I'm not going to say, oh, for sure, Joel's going to play 80, 65 games.

I don't know that.

So when you look at Ant-Man.

That's why I got him at four. Like, they're probably at three, four, five.

You know what I'm saying? Like. Even if he didn't play, though, they still have a chance.

That's why it's so good. They have more established. But that's the point. They have more.

Minnesota is not Philly. Let's not do that.

Minnesota has been to the. What a different team, Boogie. Most of the same core pieces, though. No.

Julius and Nas are gone.

Bro, they weren't the main reason.

Those are solid core pieces.

And now Ant is out.

Those are three core pieces that you do not have from last year.

Who? Who was the other one? With right now.

Anthony Edwards is out right now. With the two Nas and Julius. That's three core pieces that are not there this year.

They are not Philly. But we got two more though. We still have... We lost two, we got two. We still have three core pieces.

I was there last year.

No, we got LaMelo and Kaminga. Okay.

Okay.

You know what I'm saying? So you got J. McDowell and you still have Ruth. I lost two. I lost two. I lost. I lost two guys. To get a little faster. More versatile. As long as they can hang around the four, five, six, by the time he gets back.

That's what I'm saying. If they can do that. When he's out, and again, I'm predicting there's going to, I don't want anything to happen to anybody, but there's going to be other bumps and bruises. Somebody's going to take a week or two.

You know what's funny? What happens if somebody else gets hurt?

We're seeing that across the way.

They're going to get the fourth.

I predict that. They're going to get the fourth or three. Because any smart, I don't know if they do that now, any smart team or coach, at them last two weeks, and they look in the place, they look in the place, and they're like, oh, shit. Yeah, like, ah, you know, we don't want to, you know what, we play them right up, we're just going to lose to them. Let them get a little bit higher so we don't have to worry about them first round.

If they're that close, again, I don't know. I'm predicting there's going to be injuries all across the board. And with the injuries, I think other teams could sustain better than this team without Anthony Edwards. That's all I'm saying. That is a big part of what the fuck you're doing, offensively and defensively. Now, Lomelico pulled some shit out of his ass. He ain't pulling a rabbit out with that one.

And they've been putting him to three. Not in that West. As much as you think the West is weak, he's not bringing them or keeping them to stay where they can get back to three by the end of the season. I don't see that happening.

Again, I could be wrong.

We could pin this and circle back by, you know.

I mean, it's like you're only considering them getting hurt like the.

Rest of the West can't get hurt. I did.

And I still think they're better. They could sustain better than this team would without a Lomelo or Anthony Edwards.

Only team that looks like it. Everybody else in the West.

Yes. So if the Lakers, if Luka. OK, so you just lost J-Dub. They're going to be fine.

Yeah. Yeah, that's OK. Sure.

In case of Wally.

San Antonio, let them lose somebody. They're going to be okay. So if they drop Wimby, they're going to be straight.

They'll be all right. Hell no.

We see what they look like before Wimby got there. Hell no, man. There's a reason they got Wimby in the last three number four picks. They're going to be all right.

Lou Cornette.

I have more faith in them than I do Minnesota. With the three-headed monster they have over there with those guards. They're going to be solid. They got a solid bench. They got solid people. They got pieces, bro.

Zoned the shit out of that. So does Minnesota.

Not as many. They do not have the same pieces as San Antonio. It's not even close.

So if we're going LaMelo, De'Aaron Fox, who are you going with? Fox. All right. Gil, tell me. Am I wrong?

It's not even a conversation.

Ooh, De'Fox over LaMelo, boss?

He knows that because it's a it's a because they have different skill sets. LaMelo is more of a shooting playmaker style. De'Aaron's just going to come down here. He's not going to sit there and do any wild shit. So depending on how like I'll take them or we're talking about without win being the lineup. I'll take the more talented one because all he has to do is just don't do don't try nothing. Don't sit here and come down and throw the bitch off the backboard for a lob. Right? So he's going to have, I don't want him to have the seven turnovers. If he can put it down to two, I'm taking LaMelo for sure.

There you go.

I'm going to take LaMelo for sure.

For what?

What's the defense we're doing here to take LaMelo? Because LaMelo's a superstar. More points, more assists. The one thing LaMelo is going to do is turn the ball over. So it gives Fox that even kill. But how Fox plays the game?

You're taking LaMelo over Fox. That's what you're saying. That's what you're telling me right now.

If LaMelo don't average seven turnovers.

If LaMelo don't have.

Seven, if you don't average seven turnovers.

If I had a dick, it should be LaMelo.

If LaMelo's playing how he played the end of the season.

Last year, I'm taking LaMelo.

You're not taking LaMelo over Fox, bro. When Wimby was out, Fox was averaging 30 in the in-season cup tournament last year.

In the what?

In-season cup tournament before. When Wimby was out, he sat those games. Fox was averaging 30. Forget who he was in Sacramento.

I didn't.

No, no, but I'm saying he plays the game.

I forgot.

He's just going to get to the.

What scenario is it that you're actually taking Lamell? If Lamell doesn't average turnovers and.

What else? Okay, okay. If he's not averaging turnovers because of his vision, he's going to get... He can do things that just Fox can. Fox can get downhill faster than him, so it's like... They both hit big shots. They're both gamers. I might.

Fox most clutch player of the year one year.

No, no, no.

He got that.

I'm taking it. I'm taking it.

I'm just saying the other teams I have faith in more that have deeper teams, like a Houston, like a San Antonio, like an OKC, because they have so much more supporting cast. Minnesota, those supporting cast look really good because of Ant. They're not good.

They are good.

Or did I just don't think what I don't think.

They look better because of them.

Both both both cases.

Why are we saying I can like LaMelo some bum ass.

I didn't say what I'm not even talking about LaMelo. I'm talking about the other guys. Those guys got free like Mello wasn't averaging buck like he hadn't put up crazy numbers.

He's averaging, duh.

Please, tell me his numbers.

In his career?

Right now, with Minnesota.

Oh, no, not now.

That's what I'm talking about.

Yeah, but the ball going, that's what, and it's averaging.

That's my point. But that's fun. That's what it's supposed to be. Yeah. But think about it. No, no, no.

He looks good because of them and vice versa.

If Luka go out tomorrow, you don't think Austin Reed's numbers going to go up? Yeah. So, like, what's that? Okay. What's that mean?

You think LaMelo is a better scorer than Austin Reeves?

No, no, no, no, no. That's not what I'm saying. That's what I'm asking. No, no, no. I'm saying what LaMelo does is when Charlotte was rolling. Should I know what he does? Right? Remember, he scores and he passes.

Right?

So the Kamingas, the Rudy Gobers, the Daniels, they're going to make up the points for Ant-Man.

Okay.

Right?

Daniel's going to go up three more points. Rudy's going to figure out. Rudy's going to go where? He's going to get more points. Remember, remember. Y'all better catch that motherfucking ball first. You're too old for that shit. You're too old not to be able to catch the ball, bro.

I'm with you. Everybody's point production.

But it's just like Westbrook. Get all the way to the rim.

I'm not disagreeing with y'all. In the West, I don't think it's sustainable with those other teams. They're not going to sustain as well as other teams to me. That's all I'm saying. Y'all could disagree.

Outside of that top three, top four, I just don't see it. I think they're fine. Say they don't pass OKC, Spurs, and Houston. I think they're fine.

Maybe Denver.

Denver look like shit right now. They look like shit down there.

It's very early.

They're an injury away from blowing the season up.

Top five in the West still here.

I said, as long as when he come back, they're about like that sixth area.

I had him at five, six to start before the game.

No.

I did. They were top three, man.

But that's before he seen him. How about when you seen him?

No, but that's... They played better than I expected.

They did.

But I still, I predicted something would happen. And I still have them at 5-6.

Well, it's your fault, man. Damn, negative ass.

I'm just like, even with Philly, it's like, you know, today's game, you know something.

Everybody's taking. So, right now, we could probably get a 10-day because we know there's going to be injuries.

Who?

We're probably in shape just as them. If you was like, yo, I want to.

Play today, and you just waited for a phone call, you'd probably get one because there's so many injuries throughout the season now. The last five years have been like that.

Well, let's shift to a positive talk with a healthy player. So Jason Tatum bounced back nicely from his rough start in the Celtics season opener, leading the squad to back-to-back wins while dealing with an escalating feud with his former running mate, Jalen Brown, who called cap on Tatum's claim he didn't have prior knowledge of Brown's trade. and was just as much caught off guard as the rest of the world by that trade. While also saying Tatum should stay ready at all times. Also called, they said they had beef, they had lamb chops with gravy. And Tatum should stay ready at all times. Well, Tatum stayed ready Tuesday, delivered another big-time performance to give the Celtics their third straight win and show why he's still that dude. So

we're going to pick up the action late in the fourth quarter of the Celtics-Nets game. It is just the Brooklyn Nets, but a win is a win. So the Nets led by five with under three minutes left in regulation, but Boston stormed back. You see Tatum driving to the cup right there, getting the tough bucket to tie things up with a little over two minutes remaining. Then with the Celtics up two and under a minute remaining, sixth overall pick Mike L. Brown Jr. came through. Clutch bucket to tie things up, that clutch leg.

Oh, he talked crazy.

Okay.

Yeah, he was definitely talking his shit. Tatum then proceeded. to show his offensive versatility. Diving up teammate Dirk White with a huge and one dunk. Putting the Celtics up three. And then, I'm inspired by Kel Brown. Sending it to overtime. The big three, Celtics tricked off the free throw.

Yeah, I can't give him too much love. Damn. With the game on the line. Oh, no, don't do that. Y'all like young fella, young fella. I like him.

I just can't show him too much love. He went there for the Adidas, you know what I mean?

Hells down.

I feel like this is a great comparison.

Game on the line, Jason Tatum. If you haven't heard, he's a light-skinned Larry Bird.

Minnesota has really good complementary pieces, but I feel like they're very similar to Boston in the West, like that makeup. Now, if Boston were to lose Tatum for a couple weeks, what would they look like?

Mm-hmm. Horrible.

I don't think Minnesota look horrible, but in the West matchup, I think it's going to be tough.

Like I'm saying? The East is better than the West this year, Dave. I don't know.

It's... We were just.

Talking about Atlanta.

I know before it was like the bottom is better.

Know what I'm saying?

Before the season started, I keep saying outside of the top three, who are we worried about.

In the West?

Who are you worried about?

Phoenix, Golden State, who the fuck are we worried about?

Outside of New York and Philly, who are you worried about in the East?

Huh?

Outside of New York and Philly, who are you worried about in the East?

You still got Cleveland.

You still got Atlanta.

You still got Washington. Stop. Miami may figure it out.

You was just bragging.

About fucking Toronto.

There's no.

Like, what are we talking about?

No, I said it's quiet 82 games.

Yeah, yeah.

Get the fuck.

You were just bragging about how good Toronto is.

But not good enough to beat nobody in the West. I said if.

I said Toronto would be good if Kawhi played 82 games.

If he played 65, are they good?

Yes.

If he played 60, are they good?

They're solid, yeah.

All right, well, the East is better than the West, Danny. No.

He just.

He disagreed.

Um... Outside of Philly? What I mean, y'all both wrong. I'm thinking about, like, your top teams is, like, it is Detroit. They got to play in the playoffs.

They just can't finish regular season.

They're not better than Houston. In the regular season. You're still only naming three teams.

Charlotte.

More than the East.

The East only got two.

That's not true.

I think Denver's better than the top East teams.

Cleveland. Denver's one of the worst teams in the league right now. What are we talking about?

Probably better than Cleveland.

They have a losing record. What are we basing this all for? Knicks have a losing record. A lot of teams, it's only four games in. They're the defending champs.

I understand, but you said losing record.

If Detroit, knowing that they don't have the scores that they're going to have and it's going to hurt them in the playoff, they're up there. Then you have Charlotte. You have Boston, Toronto, Cleveland is the top six teams. I don't– outside of Philly, I don't think any of those teams can beat San Antonio. Houston. Houston. OKC. Denver. Denver. OKC.

Portland right now looks better than a lot of those East teams right now.

I ain't going to lie. When you look at the teams and you're like, we actually seen y'all play. You know what I mean? Like, we watched you play.

It's like, OK.

Minnesota, Lakers, those two teams, better than, to me, those teams in the East that are in the middle.

Hmm.

Are we not persuaded?

It's like before they played. It's not really.

No, no, no.

I'm listening.

No, no, no. You remember we had Orlando up there, right? We had Indiana. Y'all had Indiana. I knew they was going to be straight. You got Indiana up there. So it was like. Indiana's a better.

That's what I'm saying.

He out.

They done.

How they gone?

How they gone?

They back to last year. They back to last year.

It's only a couple weeks.

Day back to last year.

Indiana's still got to prove to be.

Remember, he trained all year for this hamstring. He's been going a long time for this hamstring. Now it's a little hampered, right? They're going to try to rush him back because they're going to start dumping some games, and it's going to bother them for the most part. They're just too fast. You need to work out with Ocho Cinco.

He's preparing for the injuries. You know, get the fast pushing muscles going.

I still think Indiana will be.

I'm still not seeing where the West is better than the East. So you don't think.

You just argued how good Minnesota was.

I do think they're good. You don't think they're better than Cleveland?

I think the West is about top four heavy, top five heavy at best. So I think the East goes all the way to possibly 10 as far as how it could.

Play out.

So playing out is different than actually teams being good. Now, I think those teams in the bottom are they're going to fight. Yeah, but I don't think they're better than the teams in the West. That's a different conversation.

Well, let's talk about a team in the East. The Boston Celtics. We just saw Tatum.

Yeah.

Sorry to segue there. No, it's all good. That's what we do here on Gil's Arena. And before we do segue, let's shout out to everybody in the chat. If you're in the chat and you love Gil's Arena five days a week, go ahead and hit that like button for me, please. Memphis is undefeated. Hit that like button. Make sure you hit that subscribe button as well. Memphis is 4-0 right now as well, Gil. But let's talk about these Celtics.

So Tatum, game winner, had 40 points, eight assists, five rebounds, no turnovers. Tatum now has the fifth most games in NBA history with 45-5 with zero turnovers. Paul George added 20. Celtics got their third straight win while the Nets lost their fourth straight game to start the season. So JT had this to say about his game winner.

That was a hell of a feeling.

Um, you know, just.

Kind of getting back to doing things that, you know, I used to do before, before I was injured and, um, sharing that moment with my teammates on the court, um, seeing them rally and, you know, be excited for me. Um, I said it with Abby after the game. Obviously, we play in a results-based.

Sport, but.

Obviously, when you're coming off of injury and rehabbing, like I said, I'm 18 months out from when I tore my Achilles. There's certain moments throughout a game on and off the ball where I'm doing a cut or exploding or just doing something that you know, something in my mind clicks. They're like, oh, you know, that feeling is really starting to feel like, you know, pre-injury. And, you know, results, you know, make or miss the shot, you know, I get really excited about some of the movements that I make throughout the game.

So, Tatum getting that old feeling back?

Uh-uh.

It was Tatum's 17th career field goal to tie or take the lead in the final 10 seconds.

17?

17th of a game in his career. Tied with DeMar DeRozan for the most in the league since he came into the league back in 2017. So, Danny, I see you're very impressed. Life's into excellence. It's everywhere. Everywhere you want to be. What did Tatum show you with his 40-piece and game winner over the net? Saying he's feeling like his old self. Really starting to get back into the swing of things.

I mean, 17 is impressive, man. But he's showing his confidence is fully back.

You know, like.

People think, like, superstars automatically just walk in. Some of them do. But, like, when you come back from an injury, you got to not only build your body but your mind and emotional, you know, stability back to show and prove to yourself that you still are that person. And, of course, they trade his counterpart away. Like, then why can't y'all do this when I was before the Achilles?

So now there's a lot of pressure and weight on his shoulders to carry this team to what everybody in the world is expecting to do what Jalen Brown did last year. So when you have a game like that, ultra confidence boost and, you know, bring him back to where it's at, feel like his old self. But, yeah, he looks good, man.

And they're.

Going to need him to do that pretty much almost every night for them to be competitive. Again, I like the supporting cast, but it's just they're not deep.

Right. I would say deeper than what Jalen Brown had last season.

Maybe.

I mean, why didn't– is Rob hurt? No, he played 25 minutes. He tricked off a free throw to seal the game. Yeah, probably a little bit deeper. A little deeper.

So Tatum averaged 28 points, 8 assists.

Slight edge.

Slight edge to that team. Yeah, slight edge.

Tatum averaged 28, 8 assists, 6 rebounds so far this season, but. Clutch bucket, 40-piece. It is the Brooklyn Nets, but nonetheless, the NBA team.

Oh, that don't matter.

Yeah, so when you look at that, Tandem coming through with a 40-piece, saying he's starting to feel like his old self, getting that groove back like Stella.

That's great.

Before, you know, after that first game, I think the question was asked, do I think he's far removed enough from his injury?

And my answer was yes. I just thought he played like shit first game.

Yeah. These are the results.

I think he's far removed from that injury.

Yeah.

His words are saying the same exact thing that I said. So it was more so just about arriving in the moment, and I think he's doing that now. It's a lot of chatter. It's a lot of distraction. It's a lot of narratives floating around. That's a part of the game. At the end of the day, it's about going out and performing, and he's done that. Jason Taylor is a bad motherfucker. He's been one for a very long time.

So let's not get this shit twisted. We know exactly who he is. I think the biggest issue with all of it, especially for me, I like the tandem together. I don't like that they had to split. I don't like that it's become this or that. I like y'all together. I wanted to see this combination continue on with their career.

Boston felt otherwise.

Whatever.

But as for him and the role that he's in now, I think he's arrived. It's a lot more responsibility. It's going to be a very difficult year for him. It's going to be a lot of pressure as far as just carrying that team all year. They go as far as he goes. I think That's what Boston wanted, I think, personally, on some, you know, selfish competitor type shit, trying to reach greatness.

I think that's what he wanted.

So the floor is set for him, and it's up to him to go out and, you know, show us what he's made of.

So I'm looking forward to it. Before you go.

I think this is his, the split allowed him to get more of an opportunity to actually get an MVP.

Yeah.

Because I don't think he would have had... He would never have got the credit or been looked at in that light because he had somebody so good next to him. Now, he has an opportunity to show and prove, like, he can be an MVP of the league.

Oh, yeah.

And, shit, he might be in the conversation this year.

I agree.

That's why I said on some selfish, like, personal greatness, yeah, this is exactly what he wanted.

He wants to be able... He wasn't getting that respect like that. He wasn't getting that respect.

Understandable.

I think Jalen Brown wanted the same thing for his own individual selfishness.

I think that's okay.

According to Jalen Brown's team, this is just dropped today, he just wanted to be treated equally. And I can see that. I was the third pick. He was the third pick. Dark-skinned, dark-skinned, together, perfect harmony. I just wanted to be treated the same as Tatum.

It's not the same situation, but it reminds me of kind of the KD-Steph situation when it came to Golden State. I was there, and what I witnessed is as great as KD was there, he never really got the love and appreciation from the organization, say, that a Steph gets. For whatever reason, I don't know, but I think that was one of the things that kind of made him always feel like the odd guy out.

And it seems like it's the same, similar situation when it comes to JB.

And it may hit JB a little harder because it's like, Y'all drafted me compared to a Kevin Durant that was kind of brought.

In, which is a different situation.

And he was there longer.

At the end of the day, the emotions are the same as far as just wanting to be appreciated and feel like, you know what I'm saying, y'all fuck with me the same way I fuck with.

Y'all. You look at Tatum, that 40-piece game winner, saying he's back. You dealt with a major injury before. Showed flashes last season, came back earlier than expected, had a full summer to get his mind and body right.

The departure of his former running? I mean, this is, you know, this is the year where this period of time is where he gets to be selfish as an individual, right? Scoring title. Now he can compete for scoring titles. He can compete for MVPs. And then, you know, once he's out of that phase, I'll say three years from now, they can try to go back to winning. But right now, remember, he was the youngest one out of the group. So all the older ones are gone. So he's like, all right, I got a championship. I got that.

You know what?

Let me try to go get a scoring title, MVP, see if I can do it. Let me finally get to be selfish. And he has the team. He has the style to pull that off.

When you came back from injury, did you need a game like that to, like, feel like yourself?

No. Yeah, I mean, off the bench, I thought I could do it. I mean, you know, leaving the game, you know, but then, like, once reality kicked in and I knew I couldn't do certain things, I think my confidence... shot all the way down, right? Like when I'm thinking like, yeah, I bust y'all asses, I'm playing like that. Then when I started like really questioning, oh my God, is it stable? Like, can I feel it? So that's what it was. Then I stopped doing it.

You needed a booster. Yeah, then I needed a booster.

My confidence boost came more so from, like, if I could do a move that I was doing before pre-end, it wasn't necessarily about the number. It was more about the move. For instance, my first play back from my Achilles was, dunk so it's like damn like i can't still do this you know what i mean so i think it's more so about the individual plays of who i was before compared to after the injury than the so-called overall performance.

Like i mean so i was a role player so it was different like being the guy and come back from injuries very different like i.

Became a role player after that that might be why it.

Was more about the moment or a certain place but if you had to come back right away and be like the guy like oh we gotta go get you I would get 25 right now that's a different mindset coming.

Off the injury 100% but for you you always had the confidence yeah I.

Had the confidence like when I first came back I mean them first couple games I was balling and then I woke up overnight shit gone surgery again right.

Well let's knock on wood hope it's not the same situation where Tatum obviously came back last season Looked well, but had to miss some time in the playoffs, missed that elimination game.

Hopefully for them and for him, he gets to play 60, 70 games this year.

Yeah.

70 games.

That's a great. Yeah, 70 games would be good. That's a great.

Even like 68 would be good. You know what I'm saying?

Yeah. So Tatum also asked about the Jalen Brown situation and its ongoing nature and had this response.

Just want to follow up with something you said Friday, Jason, about Chandler Brown. You guys said that you called and texted him when the trade happened. Just curious, did you hear from him and did you hear from him in the last few days with the comments that he had in response to you?

Listen, I said my piece. I'm not making any more comments on that situation.

Didn't I say yes? Didn't I say no?

You got a great PR team.

I agree.

Great PR team.

I mean, it got way out of hand.

It did.

It don't need to be dragged out of the order already. Like, I don't, like, y'all just turned this. But they got to ask, right?

Like, if Jalen says something about lamb chops and gravy, we can't not have. So what's your favorite food, JT? Yeah, we can't be in a press conference and not.

I like bull nuts.

There was conflicting reports. Brian Scalabrini had said that Jalen Brown had basically given the Celtics an ultimatum.

Yeah, he should stay the fuck out of this.

But then backtracked a few hours later. I did like that. What was the backtrack?

He said, maybe I misrepresented what I was saying. Shut the fuck up. They said he wanted to force a trade. Was it to Milwaukee?

Yeah, yeah.

Because he wanted to force a trade to Milwaukee. But sources said that wasn't true.

After Giannis Trey Foster.

Nobody wanted to trade themselves to Milwaukee.

I never.

Never. Okay, so I believe that.

Maybe he thought he could have his own team there. You know what I'm saying?

Won't be in Milwaukee. And then there was a report today that Jalen Brown's team basically saying, all Jalen Brown wanted was some respect.

Okay, now.

Inequality. Just treat me the same way. Look what I did for y'all.

All right. Let's just be players and we can see how this played out.

Yeah.

Jalen Brown got a taste of being a man. Exactly.

And I.

Don't think, because we've seen it in real time, but no one really gave a fuck.

Yeah.

All year long, He was doing all the heavy lifting, right? And it was like, oh, yeah, you know, Jaden Brown and the Celtics, yeah, they doing their thing. And the day Tatum came back, it was all Tatum again, right? And you're sitting there as Brown like.

Yeah, but because of the story of also coming back that fast from Achilles.

Yeah, I get all that shit, but you know what I mean? I got us where we are, so.

From the.

Jalen Brown side, you're sitting there like, yo, hey, man, y'all had us last. I got us here. Come on, y'all going to put some respect on the name. So when you're going and you're having these conversations with management, they're looking at Brown as Brown in the past. And from outside looking in, that wasn't the same Jalen Brown that you drafted, that was there in 2022, 2023, right?

The Jalen Brown that won a championship, he got finals MVP, that wasn't the same one last year.

Right?

So he's like, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Like, I'm literally 1B around this bitch.

Right?

Like, you know, 1B, 1A, I'm him. So, you know, I just want to be acknowledged. Right?

When you put the.

Billboard on, you know, can you have us back to back?

You know what I mean?

Just back to back.

You know what I mean? You ain't got to put me around a corner or no shit like that. Over at the pub.

Right?

So I get his stance. And did he only say, I want respect?

No.

It came with an ultimatum. It was a build-up before that. But I'm saying it's not.

Really an ultimatum.

It's like, yo, you know, if you can't respect me like that, you know, you might as well trade me. You know, it's that. It's that little throw out there.

And it's like, all right, bet.

We're going to trade you.

Like, well, I didn't really mean it.

Look, I didn't really mean it.

Yeah.

I didn't really mean trade me, trade me. I was just saying, like, damn.

Man, just fuck with me.

Like, fuck with me.

Fuck with a nigga.

Give me a parking spot or something.

Yeah.

I'd be simple. I'd be simple.

That's a big part of it but i think also the whole the ownership thing like they didn't want to spend them they didn't feel he was worth you know the analytics so he was the seventh best guy.

Like 70 of the cap will be tied up between brown and tatum they're both super.

So i think he came oh yeah so he came in like yo i'm worth this extent like i want the extension they're probably like oh we're gonna wait on it and y'all trying to trade me for yannis And then y'all still trying to trade me?

All right, cool.

And I'm not getting that type of respect. Or give me the extension or I'm out. So this is what they could have did.

I've never seen a team have a problem with a guy getting.

Better, though.

They should have said sorry and gave him the extension.

Is that not what the league wants? Like, I will go, like, because of how he played, I'm sitting here like, oh, shit. Try to get Giannis.

It didn't work.

If I can go get, if I can, if Giannis presents himself and I can get Giannis, I'm like, you know what? I'll try this because in theory, we got Tatum, then Brown. Now I got Giannis, then Tatum. I got to try that. Which was understandable. Once I miss, I'm on my knees.

You know what I mean?

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

Here's the extension. Give them the extension after that. Because we're talking about 27-29. I can literally shut this shit down two years from now, build it back up, and they still got six, seven more years of being dominant.

Wasn't Jalen Brown.

A dangle as far as being traded for Giannis before Tatum's return?

No, I was after. Was it after?

Yeah.

But he has been mentioned in trade rumors.

That's what I'm saying. But think about it. I don't think they look at him as getting better. You know how, like, your girl working out and stuff, sometimes you be looking at.

They came off a chip together. Yeah.

Then your other star gets hurt. Mm-hmm. Now you looking at The co-stars, like, not good enough? You look at the flaws.

He's not as good as Giannis, I think.

No, what I'm saying is you're looking at the flaws. You know how you look at somebody, you see them every day, but you don't really fuck with them like that? And they over there getting a little bit better, but you ain't really seeing it. There's no way you didn't see it.

Like, I'm not seeing it, but I'm not seeing it. He carried the Celtics to the third seed. Like, how hasn't he gotten better? But they saw Giannis, though. They saw Giannis.

Jason Tatum came back. They saw Giannis and Milwaukee losing. That's what I'm saying. It doesn't make sense.

So for me, looking at it like that, I feel like this shit was already brewing.

But that's the problem.

I feel like it was brewing before all of this. We're just becoming hip, too. And I don't think it's based off just play. I felt like they were just uncomfortable with who Jalen Brown is.

That's why I said earlier, I feel like this shit was already a build-up.

I went back and started watching some of the interviews of Jalen Brown, bro, talking about bringing Black Wall Street back to Boston.

I ain't fucking with that. Like, hold on, bro. Who the fuck you think you is? I think it's way before any of this. I thought it was, too. I thought just last year's play. I thought last year's play. while he's, you know, doing his own stuff so you can see his real personality, right? You got to remember, interviewing is very different, right? Because now you do an interview and they write, they're going to write whatever they're going to write. You got your own platform. But when you got your own platform and you're talking, the fans can get a real feel for him.

So he didn't seem so militant. He seemed like cool.

Fun, like he's having fun, he's smiling. So you're seeing a whole different light of him. And I thought last year's play kind of like, okay, cool.

Okay, we good, we good.

Now when I think about what Stephen A. Smith said, now it makes it seem like there was truth. Because now if you look at Boston and the leakage that they're doing, I'm pretty sure it was happening. That they're leaking stuff to Stephen A. For Stephen A. to say it, because now they're giving a reason. When they get rid of him, it all makes sense. Now we starting the smear campaign.

Yes.

So it's like, it's like, but.

At the end of the day, he's damn good, man.

I we literally as a basketball community just say so probably one of the only so he's probably the hardest No, no, he was probably the only player or for what that got better without.

Oh, you mean what our most improved?

It's already pretty bad.

They're not doing that.

I will you talk wrong? This the organization is never wrong like when you talk about like the last four years when it comes to improving and Man, if you think about that dunk contest and left-handed, it was laughing at him and making fun of him and some of the Miami series. And you look at him then and look at now, that is not the same player. I agree.

He's done a whole different job, and I just don't think they wanted to give him the credit for it.

Well, unfortunate situation. They will see each other November 10th.

No, we're not going to do that. The Jason Tatum, Jalen Brown, there's no winning that. There's nothing they can do to win. If Tatum averages 38, it's going to be like, well, you ain't got the same amount of wins, right?

Then, like, once you get that, it's like, well, are you going to win a championship?

It's always going to be this. I don't know why everyone picked these two to beef.

Right?

But it's not. It shouldn't be. It's not. It's two different players that play two different styles, and both of them were fighting the same battle, wanting respect from the outside world because in their own little way, they felt jaded to everything that was going on. That's why I thought Boston was about to pop off last season before J.

Tatum got hurt because from. One from one getting screwed on an all-NBA team.

Yeah. Right?

Olympic team.

Then one Olympic team, then one Spartan Olympic team. I'm like, ooh, they're about to come to– there's about to be some shit going on. They're both about to average 30.

Then one went down. Now they'll see each other November 10th. Then they put them against each other. Some lamb chops with a little bread.

So you don't think this matchup is going to be– it says no beef.

I don't.

You don't think there's going to be like some.

No, because if we think about it, it's like, all right.

I understand from the bigger picture.

One's going to have 35 while the other one gets to win. Yeah. One got a bunch of help back there to help defend. Zayn Brown ain't going to shoot 25 shots on his team. I mean, that's what I'm saying. If I'm Philly, man, you really want to see a battle, you know? Braun, Maxi, Joel, and B, sit down. Sit down.

One of them sits.

Mano y mano.

If Joel sits and it's just them matching.

No, no, no.

Maxi got to sit too. Because I'm going to tell you right now. Maxi got the same brain I got. We both a little under a cup and I can tell you we both just a little bit I don't give a fuck about your beef I'm trying to get a score in time.

I'm trying to be the MVP.

Y'all a person of shit dog. Listen, either I'm playing and I'm doing me, or I got to sit.

A little under age comfort is crazy.

A little under age comfort. Just a little under that.

Man, that was all wrong, man. Let's move on to MostlyFans. Who else want to shoot that? Our new and improved MostlyFans. Let me put my glasses on. Not the phone, though. It's your first time. Our MostlyFans, our new and improved, interactive, virtual MostlyFans. Oh, man. All right, we have a collective mix in our virtual audience. Some have figured out how to put their camera in the appropriate place.

That's dope.

Others have not.

Kind of like the bubble. Yeah, that's what, yeah.

It's just like. There you go. Then we want to bring you back to the bubble.

There you go.

The hardest NBA championship of all time. So we got a great crew of people. Let's start with Southern T901 in seat seven. Southern T901 in seat seven. I think has a good question for the crew. What's up, Southern T, 901? We got to cut out. I know what the problem is.

What's that one teammate you had that never played?

Can you hear us? Cook Bird, practice at Oven Gym.

Oh, shit. Okay.

Good question, though.

Good question.

We need to decide it. Like, are y'all not practicing the audio before?

I'm thinking.

Southern T.

So what was the teammate that didn't play much but Cook Bird?

Southern T, can you hear us? Y'all can hear him?

Yeah. So why we can't hear him?

Southern T, what's up?

Yeah.

So his question was, who was that one teammate you had that never played but would cook in practice, but would cook you in practice? That one teammate you had that never played that would cook you in practice? Hmm.

I had two.

I feel like there was one in each team.

Or that would cook everybody in practice or open gym?

Le'Ron Proffitt for us.

Hmm.

We had Le'Ron Proffitt went to Maryland. He was literally Kobe in practice. He was literally so gifted at just finding ways to put the ball in the basket. Whenever he was doing scouting report, he's whooping our ass. I mean, so he was he was every time he practiced all-star practice, MVP.

Practice, practice scoring, scoring champion.

I mean, he got all the awards. Right. So this is the wrong problem for us. How about yourself? Might go to Dan. I got to think on.

Yeah, I got I mean, I was trying to think of one on each team. Spurs?

There was not a minute.

Y'all used everybody. Yeah, we did.

But before we got minutes, Patty was that guy. Because Patty had to work his way. Corey Joseph was there. And he was their draft pick. And they developed him. Patty was coming off the bench. He had to lose a bunch of weight. But he ended up, obviously, killing. My first year, I was a rookie in Cleveland. Like, Boobie Gibson, he played, though. Boobie played, but he ended up coming, like, when they got Mo, went to the bench.

Furkan Korkmaz. Furk used to get buckets. He's Turkish. I think he's Turkish. Played in Philly. Furkan Korkum, he's a shooter. He'd come out every preseason and light.

Oh, this is his year.

He's going to be.

And then after, he just didn't play much. He ended up playing in Philly probably six years. He probably hated the place. But Furk, he could hoop. In L.A., we pretty much played everybody. You knew everybody. Outside of that, Memphis, because now nobody even Probably Furt is the guy.

I mean, this is a pretty well-known guy, but in the beginning, he was the last pick of the draft, Isaiah Thomas. Jimmer Fredette was drafted first round. He was the second-round pick.

How was he? How was who? Jimmer.

Was he actually good? Yes.

I think Jimmer was very good. I just didn't think they put him in the right position to succeed. um when he came in they tried to play him at point he's not a point.

And i think he came in the wrong time like i feel like this error he came in the wrong nba like jimmy if he lasted longer in this nba he would have been jimmy was a fucking bucket like he was strictly a bucket you know uh i i but um to get back to the point uh isaiah thomas when he came in like.

I mean, we all know what he does.

Isaiah been doing that his whole life, though. But just in that first year trying to make a name for himself, every practice, he getting two.

Every single one.

And he cooking the first round.

Josh Shelby. Josh Shelby and fucking Pargo.

Jeremy?

I'm glad I was on the second unit. Boy, they used to put an ass whooping on the start, too. Because, you know, Hollins didn't play the young guy. You were in Memphis?

Yeah, I came into Memphis.

At the end.

I forgot you played.

So you remember you got Conley and Tony Allen.

So you got the young boys.

Shelby was a rookie, right? Yeah.

So they doing tag teams, right?

I just be sitting there like, yeah.

They be like, stop it for Connie.

Hell no.

Hell no.

Shut up. What these niggas trying to do?

All right.

Well, let's move on to our next question from Spade in seat two. We got Spade in seat two. Bring him to the stage if we can, please.

Can you hear us? Nigga laying down? Hey, can we take off the background? I think some of these niggas might be in prison, and we need to really see, you know, where they at. You know? I think we helping him with the overlay, because, you know what I mean? He might be driving. Like, he's asleep.

Spade, can you hear us right now? How do you think.

The surgery will affect Ant, basically.

Yeah. Spade's question is, how do you think surgery will affect Ant?

I think Ant will be all right, man. Especially if he takes the full two months. If it's a scope and he takes the full two months, he'll be fine. I hope he should get back.

Sooner.

I think they gave him that time period just to be safe. I think he'll be back probably a month and a half. But I think.

He'll be fine.

And hopefully it's something that doesn't carry on. Because the biggest issue or concern I had, even though they're still good and they're really good together with Melo, is I hope he don't fall in love with the three ball.

Mm-hmm.

You know what I'm saying? But this injury, it's like, now it's nagging.

Yeah, yeah.

Because he's a guy still at this age, he's supposed to be still catching bodies at the rim. And the second, next thing for him is getting to the free throw line. And I saw that, even though he had 40-something against Miami, his first free throw.

Was in the third quarter.

He only took like.

And for some reason, it's like, outside, when you're talking about guys who jump, outside of Jordan, I don't know many that knew how to get fouled because they can jump over or jump away from everybody. They're not in there trying to get the content, right? Because they know, okay, if I go up and you jump, I can just jump through you or jump around you. So, you know, he has to spend a summer with someone that's like a James Harden type that plays under the rim with explosion, but they just don't use it. Hey, is that Spider-Man? Yeah.

With the Nets jersey on, though. Yeah, that's Spider-Man. Yeah, we hope it don't affect. I hope all these injuries, hope people come back quick, play many games, but it's right now the start of the season. I'm like, damn. The list is crazy.

Spider-Man in the crowd. We got Spider-Man in the crowd. What's up, Spider-Lote?

You got a Deadpool mask on.

I got a Deadpool mask on, but I don't fit in all of it.

We tried, Deadpool.

We tried, Deadpool. We respect your next jersey.

Let's try Worm in C5. Big Worm. Big Worm.

Worm not on camera currently.

You got a question, Worm? I'll ask Worm's question.

Yorkshire?

Yorkshire trees?

Let's ask Yorkshire trees.

That must be Canadian or something.

You're like, bud.

Yorkshire trees, can you hear us? Yeah. Can I hear him?

Brian is the goat.

Brian is the goat. Brian is the goat. Brian is goated.

4-3-2.

Bron is go to. Can you hear us?

Damn, he talking about Mitch Johnson.

He said, in my opinion, it seems that Mitch Johnson doesn't know what he is doing.

Damn. Offensively.

Hold on, I'm trying to find the question.

Mitch Johnson.

I think Coach Pop is still involved in the coaching to some extent. Ain't no way.

Because Pop would have put big fella in the position to succeed, for sure. He would have demanded it.

Out of him.

I think Mitch is still figuring out also, like, again, he was forced, his hand was forced to play all these guys at the same time. A lot of, not saying that it can't work, it can, but I think they're better lineups. Champagne had eight threes in the first half, but when you have that shooting out there, it's easier for them to attack separately.

So they said they can't hear in the waiting room while they're waiting. so they can't hear us in the waiting room right now.

Okay.

Something to tweak.

Yeah.

We'll get it right, God damn it.

I think Mitch is figuring it out, mind you.

Definitely figuring it out.

Good problems to have, to have a Wemby and three guards like that, and then Champagne, they can shoot. I'm interested to see when they got Harrison Barnes. Tobias ain't played yet. They picked him up.

Tobias.

Tobias, he's there now.

Your name, Toby.

See what the vets do, how they fit them in. I like Cornette, but I want to see the young fella get a chance too, which I'm sure he will.

The one from UConn? Ah, the young fella from Kentucky. Is he healthy? I'm not sure. I know he dealt with a lot of injuries at Kentucky. One of them is rehabbing.

The other one, he had 20 rebounds in preseason, I think, so the one from UConn. I want to see him get a look, and I think he will because, again, it's a long season. Wimby's a seven-footer. He's going to sit some games. Cornette ain't really moving in there. But Mitch said he had a lot of talent. He's trying to figure out how to make the pieces fit. But no, I don't think Pop is heavily involved. He's still around, but I don't think he's heavily involved in what's going on.

And it looks like these guys.

Popping them roast marks?

It looks like these guys. Their games changed overnight.

Castling them? All of them.

Like three years ago, the leading scorer was it Sheldon? Keldon? Is it Keldon Johnson was the leading scorer, you know, averaging 22, Vassal 18. Keldon might have started then, though, right? Hell yeah. He led the team in scoring with averaging 22 a game.

Yeah.

Yeah, that was him. And I just think it seemed like it was a guard type of offense and then when became and She got different shit got different rookie of the year It's simple man, I mean it it's it's simple just try to The way the way he plays I Like, I even went back to his French team and realized he's not the focal point offensively there.

Right?

He's more of a floating guy. He's a defensive player. He's a defensive player that because he has this, right, and can shoot it, it has this illusion of he's an offensive player. So because he knows how to move and he knows how to shoot the ball and you assume, okay, with that, you should be able to score and be an offensive player. Not realizing he's kind of handicapped. You know, he's kind of handicapped. Like, going right is still trouble for him even though he's right-handed. You know, he doesn't really understand how to come down and, you know, one of those, when traffic gets there, he has this awkward pause. Like, he freaks out. Like, he freaks and just, fuck it, I'm going to throw it off the backboard and I'm

going to go get it. Right? Um, More one-two pull-up. He's a one-two pull-up type of guy, right? It seemed like he's, because of international, being big, big feet, he stayed away from the paint a lot. If not, it's just like tips, get the rebound, put it back. Like, he's one of those guys. So it's like trying to figure out how to get him a little bit better, right?

That's why I always say, listen, screen, if they switch it, Yeah. Take a two-second pause, then dive. And then just throw it up.

He's a walking miss. All they do is pick and roll. Lob threat. You got those guards coming down here with floater, or even when we get the switch, you should be able to take advantage. Just simplify the game. But I'm with you. You can find a package to make the game simple for them in the Malone area. It doesn't have to be in the deep post. You should be able to steal small guys. But mid-post, Carl Malone area...

That should be where your back is.

You should be dominating the mid post.

And all you do is one dribble, and you're at the rim everywhere.

You know what's so funny? It's like I'm surprised they haven't done, like, hit him with the side pick and roll. Clear side. He flared clear side, hit him there, so now he has a little bit of room.

Put your best shooter.

On his side, right?

You know, it's like you can do old. You can do fucking.

What they did with Blake and CP. Did you hear something about that?

Yeah.

CP Blake thing.

You can go Phoenix Sun style. But you got to go on the other side. But you have like Champagny in the corner, pick and roll, he rolls. If you think about helping off the corner, Champagny's flaring up. If not, you got Wimby. But De'Aaron, the problem is De'Aaron Fox is so fast that that roll is behind him. So when De'Aaron comes out, if you do not show a little, he's turned the corner already. You got to get there.

You got to roll fast. Yeah, yeah.

You know what I mean? So it's one thing to play off. I'm glad you said that.

I would like them to play faster. Honestly. Because of De'Aaron Fogler.

Yeah, but they slow down before... The.

Problem is they slow down before... If not.

They got to find a balance of mix.

I feel like that's one of his luxuries, being able to get up and down. If not, man, Wimby won't make it past half court before the niggas done shot that ball. Yeah. There's some times where when he get it, he outlet it and castles it. Because everything's Everything is a fast.

That's probably the most open the plane to ever be as well.

Everything is a fast break to those guards. Right. And as a coach, you can't say slow it. You can't tell them slow it down and wait for them because now you're taking away all their advantages. Right.

You got to do that when he's on the bench.

Yeah.

That's why it's better for Dylan to be with us.

Because when Dylan's coming down, when Dylan or Harper's coming down, when Harper or Castle's coming down and they got a wink and there's just one person in front of them, that's a fast break. You know what I mean?

It must be a French thing because Rudy told LaMelo to slow his ass down too.

Yeah.

Wait till I get down there.

Wait till I get down there.

For what?

Slow down.

Rudy should never say slow down.

We really don't need you in his office.

Well, that was mostly fans. And we're going to figure out. We're going to figure out. I got to listen. I got to figure out why it's not changing.

Janky Wi-Fi would be.

It might be on our side with the plugs. Because I don't think they can hear us. That's why when we're talking. They're just sitting there. So most likely they're probably listening from the TV and not necessarily us.

So we'll figure that out. Hopefully by Monday.

I mean, hopefully by Friday we'll have it.

But hopefully by.

Monday we all Gucci. I'm sure. Uh-uh. There it is. Baby, you didn't pay the electric.

We didn't pay the green screen bill.

You didn't pay the green screen bill, baby.

Either way. There it goes. There it goes.
