Woo-woo! Woo-woo!

Woo-woo!

All right, we back in here. Sorry about that, y'all. Y'all know, black show, black problem. But this is Gil's Arena. I'm your host, Josiah Johnson. I'm here with NBA legend, 2K Uncle Badges, Peter King, and the goated Gilbert Arenas.

We're keeping this.

Alive, man.

Girl, you watching WNBA right now?

Look at you.

WNBA fan, Gilbert Arenas. Nah, you can't say that. Nah, you can't say that.

Baseball, you know. Yeah, they ballin'. We got NBA champion of the.

World, Swaggy Pig, Nick Young, back on the couch with us.

Lookin' good, feelin' good.

I mean, you're livin' out.

The trunk, man.

You disrespectin' yourself.

You know what I mean?

You look good today, man. You got some weapons?

Nah, this is strictly for you to shut the fuck up. I'm Swaggy P now.

I'm back.

I'm back.

I went and pumped myself. Yaxel motivated me to come back.

Oh, y'all was like.

The same age when y'all came in.

You was 21 when you was in 20 at high school, right?

No, no, no. You played three years.

Hell no. Because you did.

Already five years. Then you appealed.

This is what I did five years ago?

No, no.

People get shaky. Why do you have to be in high school six years, brother? No, it's fine. And I started this.

I don't know the reason anybody reclassed. I have to go to court for y'all. Y'all should give me more respect than you. We were trying to get to the bridge faster.

I couldn't.

Yeah, well.

Huh?

But it wasn't like, I had a second year, eighth grade, it was six years.

See, I got another senior, senior, like, he graduated.

I didn't play until my junior year.

I didn't play until my junior year, and I didn't have the credits.

I was in the hood, you know, I was on the block. It was posted up, like, what's up? Then I found Lorde, and.

You sent me down this path. You found the Lord. You found the Lord.

I went to Cleveland High in the Valley.

They fixed your grades, didn't they?

They did.

Can you show them?

I mean, no.

They fixed me. They helped me. They helped me.

All right. Anywho, we got four-time All-Star.

Two-time All-NBA selection. The Marcus Cousins back in the building with us.

Four-time All-Star?

Yeah, three-time, right? Yeah, three. Huh? The most all-stars?

No, I'm a champ. I'm a champ.

It's different.

It's higher. Four all-stars and one championship. I'll take the championship.

That's a winner mentality.

When you got 20 MVPs, you can say whatever.

You want.

Like, if I was a billionaire, you'd make.

It on me and shit.

You know what I mean? You know, I'd trade all this in. To be with my family and friends.

Nigga, you can be with your family and friends now.

Shit, man. You say whatever. You say whatever when you got what you're talking about.

Okay?

You know what I mean.

I give up my NBA career right now to run my full year in the NBA in this era.

Shut up.

Why didn't they win when they played?

Because we were selfish.

We got a lot of things to discuss.

Here's what's cracking in the arena today.

The Heat finally got their first win of the season with Giannis and Ben finally figuring out how to coexist.

Y'all like the photo selection?

That's funny ass right there.

We're brothers. Come on, come on, come on. Let's do it. We're brothers. Bro, what the fuck? He finally got their first win of the season with Giannis. This real? Yes. Media day. Fusion. Get the fuck out of here, bro. Give me a hug.

The Giannis need to be less ball dominant for Miami to dominate this season. Chef Curry came through with a vintage performance and Yaxel Lindenborg had another big game to give the Warriors their second straight win. This one over the Minnesota. Why Amber Wolves? Are the Dubs cooking and are the Wolves cooked without Ant-Man?

And A.J. DeBonsa. A.J. DeBonsa.

Made his NBA debut with the Wizards. How bright is the number one pick's future in the league? Ladies and gentlemen, Moseley fans, as you know, a little technical difficulties. We're going to go back to our old school Moseley fans just for today's show. So drop something in the chat. Drop a question. Put some bread on it. And we'll answer your questions at the end of the show. We appreciate y'all working with us. We are getting technological here in the arena.

Technological.

We appreciate y'all bearing through audio and all that stuff. We are a live show. Real things happen in the real world. But we still give you this show five days a week. Gills Arena, everywhere you want to be. So shout out to everybody watching the show on Twitch. All our Twitches out there better have our money. If you're watching on Twitch, make sure you follow our channel at Gills Arena Show and appreciate y'all for all the subs and all the love.

All right, let's get to it. We got these Miami Heat. It was getting spooky.

For the Heat in the Giannis era as the squad went winless through the first week of the season. It's Miami's first 0-4 start during Spoh's tenure as head coach. Bam Adebayo struggled so far this season with multiple triple single outings, including an 8.8 rebound performance and a loss against the Mavs Monday in South Beach. After that loss, Giannis said it wasn't time to push the panic button just yet, and Bam said it's funny how the outside noise wants to make him the scapegoat. before adding that when the energy shifts, all the doubters should be prepared for that. Well, the energy finally shifted Wednesday night in Atlanta against the Hawks, and for the first time this season, Giannis and Bam looked like the dominant duo the team

was expecting to help Miami get their first one in the win column. Let's take a look at the highlights if we can.

Paolo, please.

So, Bam set the tone early, being aggressive on offense, getting to his spots, and knocking down tough mid-range jumpers. Miami, offense also. Very aggressive. The Heat shot 65% from the field in the first quarter to jump out to a nine-point lead. You see Bam doing it?

Uh-oh.

Ooh, okay. Who is that? Is that Bam? Wow. Okay, Bam.

Bobby Porter's doing his thing as well. Still assisting Giannis. Still assisting Giannis.

Set him up. He set up his Bucs, former Bucs teammate. What's so funny is like that's what we was talking about. Give me the band right there and then duck hands.

And despite Giannis picking up some early fouls, the heat kept rolling. Bam kept being aggressive. Broadbore has brought the energy off the bench. Miami, 13-point lead into the half.

Oh, look at, oh. What is that? Diamond up, Giannis. That was on purpose.

So in the third quarter, the Heat kept applying pressure. Heat extended their lead to 18 points. Giannis. Look at the paint.

But the Hawks weren't going away.

Things started to get a little bit interesting in this game. Atlanta cut the deficit to four. Laid in the fourth quarter. Fade away perfectly. That's when the Greek freak took over. Giannis scored 12 points in the final frame to propel the Heat to the win. So Giannis finished with 24 points and 18 boards. He was 8 for 11 from the field.

Bam!

24 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals in this game. So, Bam also passed Udonis Haslam to become the Miami Heat's all-time leading rebounder. In this one, Andrew Wiggins added 18 points. Pell Larson has 17. And Davion Mitchell finished with 10 points and 10 assists. He scored 70 points in the paint, were plus 12 in rebounding, shot 53% from the field. After the game, Coach broke down what was different for a squad offensively compared to their previous games.

We wanted to be a little bit more intentional when we weren't in the flow. So that didn't take away from our transition. Like I said, I think we had 30-plus in transition. Our pace was too slow the last, really, three games. Way, way too slow. And so we need both parts of it. We need to push tempo, push pace.

Teams will scout against it.

So what? That's who we are.

But then when the game gets to those neutral times, we have to be more intentional of where the ball is going. And sometimes it may be a pick and roll. Sometimes it might be our game that we're getting to or a post-up or catch and shoots, which is a big part of what we do.

So finally in the win column, Giannis was dominant without being too ball dominant. Bam made history for the first time at Miami Show with the Giannis-Bam partnership could become.

So Boogie, we're going to start with you.

What were the biggest takeaways that you have from the, he getting their first win of the season on the Hawks?

Uh, I like that they play fast. Um, you got two athletic big men that can run, get up and down the floor, do a lot of things in the open court. So, uh, allowing them to play in that open space without the defense being set up without the, you know, paint already being crowded and packed in. Um, it allows those two bigs to kind of get a little more loose. Uh, without that defense being set. So I think that added to the better performance from Bam and Giannis as a combination. But I also see a difference in approach with Bam. He seemed a lot more aggressive.

It seemed like he asserted himself a little more earlier into the game. So I think that's a plus. That's also what I was looking for for Bam. Playing hesitant and overthinking the game is only going to kind of make the game more stagnant you know, more on top of each other. Basically a big clusterfuck. But playing fast definitely opened up the game for him. I agree with Spolster on that. I think that'll help not relying on half-court offense so much. He spoke on that as well as far as the game slowing down so much. But I felt like that was everybody kind of thinking the game too much, over-forcing the ball to Giannis. And, you know, in all those games, Giannis got busy, but, you know, nobody else could because... one, the pace, two, you know,

overthinking the game instead of just playing within the flow.

So I think this is a better showing for them.

I would like to see the outside perimeter players get a bit more of a flow and have, you know, a bigger impact as far as within the game because, you know, they scored, what, 60, 70 points in the paint.

You know, you get, I.

Don't know, 10 plus from those outside guys. I think it's a, It's easier to win instead of it being as close as it was. So I still think they got some things to work out. But as far as the biggest black hole within the group was figuring out that combination for the bigs, this was a better showing. But they got some improvement to do for sure. This is a step in the right direction.

I like it.

One and four so far this season. Swag, let's move on to you looking at this heat squad. Giannis and Bam, both with 24 pieces. Like DeMarcus said, I like the fact that Bam was aggressive. He wasn't sitting there letting the game come to him. He's always a little too unselfish for me. I would still like him to take more than 16 shots as a superstar on that team.

But I like that the other guy showed up too.

Tim Hardaway.

Wiggins had 18 the other day. He was trying to find himself his role out there. So they looking all right. But they still got some improvement. You know, game looked, to me, that looked a little slow, but they said it was playing faster.

But, yeah. Bouncing out transition offense. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Obviously, working on the half court. Giannis, less dominant in this one. Ball dominant. For sure. Trying to get Bam more involved, getting aggressive early on.

And I think they got to figure that part out. Because I know Giannis is going to still want to be Giannis. And still got to want to go. You know, he went down there out of all them plays. Every one was coast to coast. You know, keep it to Giannis, do a Euro, in and out, dunk. So he's still going to want to do that. So you still got to try to find your, find what you want to do out there as Miami, you know.

I'll give the shift over to you. The Heat, your choice to be the top seed in the Eastern Conference. Struggling a little bit at first. On four to start. Still playing. Got a much needed win. Gianna said it wasn't time to hit the panic button after they lost to the Mavs Monday.

And I hit it. You hit the panic button? You said you was just going to squeeze it. You're right. You wasn't ready.

You said you was going to squeeze it. I'm still squeezing though. I'm still squeezing. I mean it's you know that's what I got. It's one game.

The flaws are still there. Yeah. Right. It's They're packing the lane, but the shooters aren't benefiting. Right?

Clay, like, it's been five games. Clay hasn't benefited from. So, it's like, what's going on? It's like, the point guard is scoring because everybody's paying attention to Giannis.

So, he's going to come out and pick a roll. You're not going to leave. All right. You know what I mean?

So, it seems like two of them has been playing great so far. Davion and Giannis. And for the first time, you got Bam, you know, played, got fouled, and Wiggins hit shots. Right now, once Klay gets in the rhythm, then we can kind of see what it is. But right now, what they added was a little high-low. They're putting Giannis in the post. Realize, hey, nobody can guard you down there. They can't guard you up here. They can't guard you down there either. So the fact that they're using him a little bit more so people can double and then they can swing the ball around is an improvement.

But I got to see more. Clay, three points, 17 minutes. I was going to need more on that side. Tim Hardaway Jr. I'm confused. I personally have never seen a shooter be cold this long.

Two seasons? Three seasons. It's been three seasons. Like, I'm trying to figure out, like, how are you.

Like, you was invincible. Like, your shot was invincible. Like, the worst, like, us in your worst year is... 38.

Is Ray Allen.

And because it's Klay, you don't want to be like, come on, man.

Like, you don't lose your shot. Like, I don't know. How do you lose your shot? Like, it's... I mean, it's possible when your confidence ain't there. Yeah. Or if you're not comfortable in your surroundings or shit. Both.

Even if you feel like you ain't really being supported, it can happen that way. Like, I wouldn't– you can't make me believe after all these years of him showing us who he is as a player in the last three where it's been, like, great situations for Klay.

Klay a vibe type dude. Like, vibes all– you know Klay. For sure. For sure.

Clay is all vibes if the vibes ain't off him clay is he can't be himself so um yeah you could tell i just think it's more so even in the summertime i don't yeah i just don't feel like he's been in a in a great environment where you feel like you can flourish i think still time in miami i think i think this i believe this is the best situation he's been in in a while like Especially when everything does start to click for that group.

I think Clay gets back to playing high-level ball. I think it's just time for you to tell Clay. Yeah, you just don't forget how to ride your bike like that. Yeah, you got to. You ain't going to make me believe that. Okay, so he's Miles on hardball. You know the picture? Right, you need to put the headphones on.

Yeah, you need vibes that much, put the goddamn headphones in and get your shit together, man.

And go out there and flame on. I love it when you do that.

Yeah, like whatever you need to get the flame going.

I don't know how to flame unflamed, right? But it's not flaming the way it's supposed to. So if you need to put some music in.

And you need a little earbud and you need to get your little bounce in, I don't think nobody's going to care.

I don't think at least it's... as long as it used to be either.

Like, Klay had the ultimate, Klay was allowed to play through a lot of mistakes that, you know, once that role changed, once that, those opportunities changed, like, it's not the same situation. Klay fuck up three times, he getting pulled. Compared to if he fucked up three times, he could play.

Through it and then he can get back to knocking down four or five in a row. You said what? No, no. Yes, if he missed two in a row. Oh, hell no.

He was one for four and they played.

Him 17 minutes. I'll watch him in practice so I know he's the best shooter that Miami has ever seen.

He was one for four yesterday. They played him 17 minutes. There had to be shooting.

I've never seen this... As a corner, you don't understand. As a corner, that's the type of shit he does. He's been a corner. That shit hard. That shit hard. He's been a corner, but he's played in the corner. He's coming from the corner. He's not getting the same amount of shots.

And it's pressure when the other corner, like Tim Hardaway Jr., is making his shots. So you go with the corner that's hot. It's tough. Clayton could probably shoot left-handed better. But he was making them yesterday. Tim Hardaway had 14 points. Six or ten from the field. He had to struggle too early to start the season. I mean, technically all these shooters were struggling.

Yeah. To be fair, put the other two years aside.

In this situation alone, all their shooters have struggled.

Yeah. So, I think you got to give them time.

We got to give all these motherfuckers time because this shit ugly from jump.

It's been ugly for everybody involved. Shit, even y'all this shit been ugly. Yeah. Shit, Spoh looked fucking depressed. Spoh looked ugly. They going through the dark spot, but I think they'll get through it, bro. They'll get through it for sure. Okay.

Okay.

That's what you call a mouse with some headphones on.

Nice fucking pods. Pods signed for a hundred, too. Kind of fucked.

It's like the words fucking with clay from a distance.

He seen that? He seen that, a hundred.

Oh, this nigga Kirk, he fucking with me.

Think about it. You know, she let the nigga on my boat.

Think about it think about it 100 and you know you yeah.

What was Clay what did Clay want oh shit what did Clay want that year what like 24 25 he wanted the same deal that's the same same deal he wanted the same deal basically they said pies oh man he fucking with me they offered him I think 248 he fucking with me see.

But he turned that down He turned it down to get what? Nothing. I think, what did he sign? 30? A three for 50 or something like that? Yeah, three for, yeah. Three for 50.

They gave Paz, what, four for 100? They gave Paz four for 100? And Kurt, I mean, Clay, three for 50, see?

Yeah, he signed a three for 50.

You could be fucked up after that. You lose your life to Paz. After winning 4-2.

Yeah, you lose everything to Paz.

No, you're losing everything. You lost your job to Paz.

Your money. Think about it. I know one thing is I didn't lose to Paz. He lost to 360s too. I didn't lose to 360s. Paz 360s, they're saying our forward class is not better. I'm just saying, it's not making a sound if you won't get back. I saw Paz 360. I said, is that Clay? I said, oh, no. It's not. Oh, he looking like Clay? Got the wave cap on extra tight. Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Universal but let's get back to actual basketball discourse of all going to see which version of Giannis and which version of BAM Do the heat need to be successful this season.

All the versions they have? All of them 83 I got a man like that like this is This is basketball. He's supposed to be elite.

So you should have different packages for different games different styles different.

Moments, so.

If you're only great in this moment, then you're easy to stop.

That's how Miami was able.

So the fact that now you're posting up, little drops, playing under the basket, that's very different for everybody. Nobody's expecting that. Same thing with Bam. You guys got to switch roles. If he's down low, you're playing up high. If you're up high, you've got to learn. You've got to really understand how to play everybody's role. So you know what to bring and know what to let go for this game. There's some games where it's like, all right, Antoine and Karan, you know, they shooting. So I need to get us in a penalty. So then I'm going to be just driving the whole time recklessly.

You know what I mean? It's like, they're not getting by their men. So, shit. You know what I mean? They're not getting by their men. So I got to get in there, try to get us in a penalty, see if it loosens it up a little bit.

I think that would help Giannis, too, if he learned how to post up. Like, play longer, too.

The reason it'll help him is because he has long strides.

That's what I'm saying. And he can dunk off minimal power. That's what I'm saying. Like, he's. Because Atlanta. And can still get there. He looked like he was big. Yeah. So, like, putting him in the pose, tell him rip and dunk. Like, rip, dunk, rip, spin, dunk. Like, I mean, just little moves like that. You don't need nothing crazy. Yeah. Because he'll be faster than most, too.

At his height. Just look at it. I mean, it's technically how Amari played in the post. Right? You get it? Swimming through. Try to get it. Swimming through. They cut you off. Spin back. That was limited for Amari, though. Most of Amari points came off Steve. Yeah, no, no, no. Pick and roll. But you already have the drop. That's the real fucking problem. When they get a guard. Davion Mitchell was playing great. Cool. But we all know his role offensively will always be limited.

Until they get that dynamic wing that's a threat to score, along with playmaking, it's going to be hard for these two bigs. They're creating all the offense. It's two bigs creating all the offense. Nobody else. That's a hard-ass job in modern-day basketball. Every team has a guard except them. Every team in the league got a guard except Miami.

I think I know what's about to happen. Miami's about to make a trade with Phoenix.

That would be amazing. For who, Booker? Jalen Green or somebody. Booker. Because they're screaming we need a point guard. They can play.

I'm not even mad if they keep David on that point. They just need a dynamic wing.

Yep.

Like a full-rounded wing. It don't have to necessarily be a point. If you want to play Davion as that defensive guard that's going to guard the best wing defender every night, I think that's a great point. But whoever's next to him has to be a combination of a scorer and a playmaker who can also create offense with what.

They already have. What was Wiggins? And Bam and Yon. What was Wiggins' game when he first came in? Slash. It would be like Kobe, they said. So what was with you? He was.

I remember he was playing against Minnesota. He had the little fro. I promise you, he was cold.

He was who?

He got cold at one point. He was averaging like 27. Because he had a fro? No, he was averaging like 27. It wasn't cold like, though.

You tripping. With what for calling? With love.

Hey, another thing. Amari was balling in New York when he first got here.

Hell yeah.

100%.

Yeah, that motherfucker was cold. Hell yeah, I know. But he also worked on his game. Yeah, that's what I was... Okay, okay. Getting injured, had to shift that shit. Like, that's when he was throwing him into the pole, man.

But, shit, that's what I'm looking for from Bam and Giannis. Like, Bam year 10, Giannis year, what, 12? Something like that?

Like... And we still haven't really gotten to that part.

I hate that one leg. When did he start trying to do that shit all the time in the post?

Oh, no, he didn't mean Kobe Bryant. He mean Kobe Carl, right? It's George Carl's son, right? You're talking about Kobe Carl, right? It was with a C. You know? It was with a C. Yeah. We got it. I was just making shit. I was like, Kobe who? He was trying to cook us in a Drew. Talking about Wiggins. Wiggins was trying to be like, yeah, Kobe Carr. Man. Kobe Carr's so damn ass. Come on, bro.

He was trying to go at us in a Drew. He killed that.

You don't remember, though. Kobe?

Yeah.

Which Kobe? Kobe Carl. Kobe Carl, man. Double check it. He said, once he used the word try. Yeah, he was trying. He was like, who is this?

Who's that nigga on that neck? Boogie on this side. Who should the Heat run their offense through? They've been talking a lot about Bam operating the best as a point forward type. Giannis obviously loves the ball in his hands. They said Giannis was a Greco-Nigerian Magic Johnson early on in training camp.

That was the comment they tried to make.

I honestly don't think it's a difference if they run it between Giannis or Bam. Because the paint is going to be packed regardless. So, yeah, they had a better showing with this last game. Yes, Bam looked way better. Some of the wing guys looked better, but I just still don't see a balanced flow.

Within that team.

Once teams figure out, even if they did make an adjustment between Bam and Giannis, teams are going to adjust to that and They're still game planning for the same exact two who create all the offense. So still to me isn't a well-balanced group. They have to get something on the wing, either the point or the two. Should I even take it at the three spot? It has to be something. And it's based off the history of what helped Giannis be successful. For the most part, he had that dynamic wing playmaking type player in Chris Middleton.

That's what created the balance for Giannis. And even then, Giannis still was that engine within the offense. But once they needed that flow, once they needed that balance, we knew we could get the ball to K-Med and make something happen. That's what I think is missing for them right now.

Okay, okay. Atlanta won. The dream. They went by.

WNBA Good shit. WNBA avoided a little controversy. Obviously, they had to flip that court. Yeah, that's why they did it. We don't know what to do.

Game seven. That's what we're going to do. Game seven. How about that? All-star starter? When he was with the Warriors. For real? Because the Warriors won a lot of games. I was looking for his best year. Who? Andrew Wiggins. He made the All-Star game. He was the All-Star. In 2022. I didn't know that. I mean, he's averaged 24.

I was trying to look up his stats to show you.

How old is Wiggs now? 30? 31. 31?

He in his prime. Yeah, he's just, damn, he's just good. He in his prime, bro.

Shit. Oh, yeah. That should be. I need a little more from him, too. Man. With him, as long as.

He averages that, with him, as long as he's averaging the 18 that he averages, I mean, you.

Know what I mean? 16, 18, yeah.

That's what he's always averaged, so you know he's going to bring that.

Absolutely. Yeah, they need someone that can bring that. They need that wing back. Averaging 11 points per game this season, averaged 15 last year. When is Jimmy contract up? Butler? I think this is the final year of his deal. Yeah, see? You think, what, him go back to Miami? To Miami? They all going to play from the paint, huh? Nah.

Jimmy love the mid, too. He love the mid-range. Like, that ain't going to work. It's going to be even more of a clusterfuck.

I'm just thinking, who would go there? You said somebody from Phoenix. Who did you think from Phoenix? Like Jalen Green. I would like Jalen. I think Jalen Green would be a good fit. Yeah, Jalen. You need someone who, like, you pass it to them, they can get their own shot. I think Zach Levine could help.

Yeah.

I think Zach Levine could help him a lot. For sure.

But, again, when you look at this Heat squad, who should the offense run through at this point to maximize success?

To give them the better chance out of the two, I'll say in the half court, go through Bam because he's the less aggressive.

So he's going to think pass first. Right? So when he gets there, he's looking like... Most of the mistakes that we were.

Seeing is because he's already thinking about passing the ball.

Exactly. And then, oh, shit, I got to shoot. Right?

But if he's... So with him, you know, he's going to look for the high-low and do all that.

Right? With Giannis, Giannis is looking at that basket first. Yeah. Right?

So he's not going to see a lot of movement first. So you want to keep him in attack mode. So when you do get it, he's only looking to score. So I'd rather have Bam... Throwing high, low, throwing back doors and try to figure out from there in the half court.

I think they disrespecting Wiggins. Shit, that's him looking at all these stats. Getting disrespected over there.

It was a different system though. Boy. The average is 18, right? Yeah, but I'm just.

The.

Average is 23-1, 20, 23, 21. He was kidding me.

He know how to put the ball in the hole.

He was playing within that motion offense, bro.

Yeah, but I feel like he don't have that mindset anyway.

He's not in that system.

I mean, he's not a one-on-one player.

If he came in like that, though.

I don't know.

In Minnesota, he had 23.

But was he a one-on-one player? I don't think.

He was a one-on-one player. I remember Wiggins doing that. That's what I remember when we played them. And you don't just make average 20 off cuts and shit. He wasn't no Klay Thompson shooting all threes and shit.

Luol Deng. Luol Deng. I'm just saying. You don't average up to Luol Deng. He could shoot the ball. He was an athletic slasher. He wasn't ISOing though. No, no, no.

He was a system type player. A good system, he's going to flourish. No system, he's going to look crazy. I think he probably just needs the ball more then.

Maybe so. He needs the ball more. I just said that. Yeah, he needs the ball more. Maybe he should be doing more. Yeah. Let me look at it. How many shots he had?

I mean, with Bam and Giannis on the floor, are you going to put Wiggs and Pick and Roll with.

Him?

I'll try it out sometime.

But it depends on how Wiggins play in practice and all that.

Like, with the Warriors, he did a lot of that. He did a lot of what? Pick and roll?

No, like, pin downs and pops and shit, pins and pops.

But it was more catch and shoot, one dribble pull-ups type.

Like, what the fuck he had with Milwaukee? What's the nigga name? Who Giannis had in Milwaukee?

Chris Middleton? Yeah.

He could be that type of person for him. Chris Middleton could bug you, like.

You're acting like Wiggins' ass. I'm not saying that. He's just two different type of players. He's not an ISO guy. Like, he's not a put the ball on the floor, find the guy. He's not that type of player.

Oh, man. Yeah. I think. Put your ass in that corner.

See how y'all treat Wiggins?

He was a damn good MVP. All-star. I'm just saying. Finals MVP. No, I'm saying.

Almost.

He's. It's rough.

He's a slasher, fast break guy, you know, catching, slipping. He got like a little post he tries, you know.

If he's on the right side, he's going to try to go middle with a little jump hook. Other side, he's going to try to do a little fade. But he can't beat anybody really off the dribble. He got five shots in one game. No, I'm just saying he can't beat anybody else. He should do more. He's a real corner dude now. Now? No, I'm looking at last year.

I wouldn't be mad if some pin downs ran for him.

It's still getting back to a catch and shoot situation. You would think this nigga's a five man. You put him and Giannis on the same side type shit? Giannis pin down for him?

Man, life.

Warriors do this shit. After he won, memory went missing for a minute.

Yeah, this pops. You know, I have family problems. Hey, brother, yeah. Can we move on from that sorry-ass team? Yeah, this is your team. That's not my team. My team is the Lakers. No. And the Wizards. You said you were delusional about the Lakers. Yes. I'm a diehard Lakers fan. And I said.

You were adamant that the Miami Heat would be the number one team in the Eastern Conference.

Because I thought they was going to come out and play defense and go hard. But that wasn't my team. You're changing that pick.

They look nasty. I. Have I ever called the Lakers ass? Yes. No.

I called players ass. You said tickets were going to be cheaper for Lakers games. No time Lakers. But I said it was going to be ass.

That's the same. No. That's the same. These niggas is ass. I'm sold. Oh, he said it. Yes. It was ass last year. It was ass last year. I called them AAU teams. Remember, we got Gabe Vincent. Oh, yeah. Shamar Moore. Yeah, we got him from over there.

When was the last time Miami had a good regular season?

It's been a while, right? Nah, they be having good regular seasons. Do they?

The motherfuckers be like playing and make it to the finals.

That's not a. That's not a good regular season. For God's sake. They finished first in the East back in 2022. Okay. And then in 2023, they came in eighth, right? Yeah. Yeah, because they started off getting hurt. So they were number one, right? Yeah, they started off hurt. How long?

2021, you said? So 2022, they were first in the East the last four seasons. They were eighth in 2023 when they made it to the finals. Eighth again the following season, lost in the first round. Eighth again the season after that, lost in the first round. And then they were 10th last season. Yeah, that second eighth. I mean, that first eighth after they were number one, that didn't count.

You're starting off the season bad, then you're coming back in and do all that. Now, a one seed is playing an eighth seed.

Right. You know what I mean? Beat the Bucs for a win. You obviously got hurt in that. Because I think it was preseason. I think it was preseason, like, top two in the East. I think it was like Boston and them that were supposed to be one or two.

Did that seem better in this team? It was Jimmy, Hero, and Bam? Yeah.

Better than this thing? Yes. Wow. As of right now, yeah. They had seven undrafted players on that team. But they had Jimmy, Hero, and Bam. They still had more balance. Yeah, for real. Where they at now? They went to the Lakers. Nah, they done. They all done. They went to the Lakers. All of them. I've never heard of another player ever since.

Duncan Robinson, though. Ah, right. But he came after, though, right? Yeah. No, no, no. He was part of that team. Okay, that's it? Yeah, Duncan Robinson.

We talked about this before, but Giannis can sign an extension January 6th.

He can also opt out this summer, explore his options. That'd be crazy.

You think Giannis locked in for the long term? There have been some on the internet who have posted a conspiracy theory that Giannis will go back to Milwaukee. Take the whole East roster back to Milwaukee with that crew. This was all just a ploy.

That'll be sick. Would you think he rides it out with this team?

Like, if you're Giannis, are you signing a long-term extension with this crew right now?

Nah, I didn't sign my brother. Will it take a Thanasis? Yep. Or Alex Antetokounmpo signing? I'm going to prove a point. Did Thanasis go overseas and play? I don't know. I think he... I know he came back from the Achilles, so... Thanasis podcast? Um... He's going back to Milwaukee, bro. I think he's going to explore his options.

Because you're technically in the same boat that Kevin Durant was in where you're going to be a free agent and one of the most dominant free agents to actually hit the market to then say, hey, where has everybody landed? Do I need to go to Boston now with Paul? That's where I was trying to go anyway. Now Paul George is there.

Now I can show up. Changes that dynamic. You have New York as an option as well. I can be added to New York. I don't have to be traded for New York. But that's my point. So that's the thing that.

Giannis really has to sit back and really understand.

Would New York do that move now? With not wanting to extend cap?

But if I'm Giannis, I don't want to go there trade and trade. Like, my position would be this. Your team, the way it is, I'm added to it.

Right.

So it's me and Cat. Not me for Cat. It's me and Cat. They ain't going to be able to afford that. They ain't going to be able to do that.

They ain't going to be able to afford that.

That's a lot of money. Don't he like L.A., though? Would he go with Luka? But that is the most power he will ever have. Yeah.

Where you're a free agent, and you're sitting back, and you can take LeBron James 8 million.

You can do whatever you want. All right.

Whatever you're trying to do, you get to do it. So, and, I mean, you can go to OKC. You can figure out where to go. And trust me, the money will find a way to your pocket, however you look at it.

You know? For real, though.

We got to send that shit to motherfucker Greece for it to go back to.

That motherfucker ain't want to leave Milwaukee for real. I can't see him wanting to join another team, though.

Like.

I would think he wanted to feel that power just to be able to go wherever you want to go for the first time in your career.

And you're older now.

You get to make them deals with your family and shit. He turned things around and probably signs that extension. He's looking nasty come January.

Yeah, I'm not. They look nasty now.

It depends on what they're telling me, what their plans are.

It's only five games, but.

I thought they would have did more when they knew they were going to sign him.

Or trade for him.

I thought it would have been more moves or another plan in place to add to him being traded.

They made that move and that was it. There's no way they thought this team was complete as is. Nah.

When you think about Pat Riley, it's the first year and then this summer get better pieces. When you look at all this.

That's why I said I don't like Pat Riley. He's stubborn as fuck. No, no, no.

When he has some bullshit, he can make it look like it's wine.

He can make it look like it's wine.

But when he really got some shit, he puts it together.

You got to remember, Pat Riley.

Is the godfather at this moment in time. He is the godfather of the NBA.

Yeah. Meaning, he can do whatever he really wants to.

If he wants to make a move, he's done touched enough people, he's done put enough people in positions to ask for favors.

I mean, when the Heat went to the finals and shit, where the fuck was all that at?

Which ones?

With Jimmy and them, when Jimmy wanted more help, he didn't believe in it.

As a final scene. Yeah, I did believe. No, you didn't. Hell no. You didn't believe. I did believe. He didn't make no move. No move. Yeah, no. And if he did make a move, it was like small. Didn't I just say seven undrafted? That's not a move. That's what I'm saying.

What I'm saying is how am I supposed to trade?

Nobody want him. What you want to trade now? Nobody want Clay.

You ain't about to get Clay for Jalen Green right now.

Mitchell and Mitchell. They need a point guard. Mitchell, Clay. Mitchell, Clay. They can probably give out Jalen for that. Mitchell and Clay. They need a point guard. You got your shooting guard. You got a shooting guard that plays for them. I thought picking in.

I mean, that might be it. Jalen and Green, that might work. They were talking about Kyrie, but they only got one tradable first. I don't know if they have enough assets to even make a move to get But if they.

Get Jalen Green and give up Davion Mitchell, they in the same position. Now they don't have a point guard.

Who is that guy? Kevin Porter Jr. also lingering.

I just feel like there's some guys out there that's like a simple move for them. Like, you don't, how you not getting in contact with Chris Paul? He done played with two bigs before, right?

How you doing? I don't know.

Russ, like, I feel like it's a lot more simple than they want it to be.

You know, the politics is the politics.

I feel like they got answers to improve their team. It's just not the popular answer. But Russell seems like somebody Pat would like, though.

Facts.

He hustle, work hard, all that. Good teammate. Motherfucker, 1% body fat. What's the problem?

We will see. Damn. We'll go down to South Beach. I just... The type of... See, they do need a... No. A Bones Highland. That's what the chat has been saying. Rob Dillingham type. Where he's just an instant bucket that can relieve pressure. Right? But I do want a consistent.

Shooting guard that can just get a get a flat-out bucket too.

So I think of.

Zach Levine with them But they're.

Gonna have to trade for them He ain't gonna sign you might be able to get what I'm saying. What I'm saying. No value right.

Now saying Giannis Giannis being a free agent. I'm not saying he needs to sign eight million like LeBron I'm saying you see how LeBron took eight million and just changed the whole team. I Yeah, Giannis can do whatever the fuck he wants to do Like if if 40 million is on the table and he wants to go there and he's that shit I'll take 20 for a cat to stay right he can do that.

You can give me a motherfucker building.

Somewhere All right, don't don't don't don't don't get it twisted.

No What happened with Kawhi? There's just a he got told on he just got called he got caught someone told and leaked it Okay, that's real everybody else. I They ain't leaking that shit. They ain't taking a lot of money, though. $ 200, 000. Small price to pay.

I mean, y'all looking around, y'all seeing, like, how the fuck we get in for that price?

Right.

Yeah. Don't dig too deep. The price is the price. I'm going to think of another wing that could. Kevin Porter Jr. at home. Who? Kevin Porter Jr. He could help. He played with Giannis in Milwaukee, too. Average 17 a game. Hmm. 6-5 combo. With that team, they just need other people that can put.

Right now, you have that man, right? Kevin Porter, and I'll go get Cam Thomas.

Fuck it.

What else?

Right? What else? At least you know.

They're going to create their own shot.

They are buckets. They can get a bucket. You can go get Cam. You don't have to worry about shit. Are you open?

Right now.

You know, if Klay don't catch it and shoot, he going to have to pat, not them. They get their business. Watch out. And that's what you need. You need someone that's going to keep everybody out. Where's Spencer Dinwiddie? Down the street. Yeah, he down the street.

I mean, a guy like that could help. Do dirty house, playing some Madden. All right, but it's time to try and finesse some bread on Polymarket. This is Put That On Something. We're going to give you a trade on the Polymarket app. You got to pick a side, put that on something. So Giannis, first and only player in NBA history to average at least 30 points per game while shooting 60% from the field in the season. He's achieved that historic milestone twice in his career. So through the Heat's first five games, Greek Freak is averaging 28 points per game. So if we go on Polymarket, 49% of traders on Polymarket think Giannis will average at least 30 points per game this season, while 98% of traders

think he will fall short of that mark. But let's take it to the couch. I'm going to ask you guys. Swaggy, we'll start with you. Will Giannis average 30 points per game this season? He's at 28 right now, had a few big games, also some mid-games.

Yeah, I would say yes.

I would say, well, the lowest I'd say is 29.9, but I think he averaged 30 for sure.

29.9 is the lowest you'll say? Yeah. But you think it'll be 30? Yeah. Boogie, let's shift over to you. I'm trying to figure it out myself.

I'm not saying it makes the most sense for him to do that for this heat squad to be the most successful.

That's exactly what I was about to say. I don't want him to average 30. Yeah.

I don't want him to average 30. I think if he's averaging 30, I don't think the Heat are that good of a team.

Yeah.

If it's somewhere between 25, 26, 27, I think that's a little more balance for the group. But if he's averaging 30, I don't like.

The chances for the.

But to answer the question, I think Giannis is... I think he's aware enough to know that's not needed in this situation.

So to answer the question, I'm going to say no. All right, let's move on to Gilbert J. Arena's name.

You explained perfectly why I'm saying he's going to have his nerves.

Yeah. Because they're not that damn good. They're not that damn good. You know what I mean?

I was like, yeah, yeah, Boogie's saying it.

30, 32, 33.

But then I was like, there's going to be some games where they're trying to figure it out again.

That's the only thing that's going to happen. We all know. When that mind is set that they suck, just do everything. And right now he's trying to figure it out. Yeah, that's what I'm feeling like he's trying to figure it out. All right, Clay. Okay, nigga. You know what? This whole side of the court is done. Yo, I didn't know that you talked like that. Oh, yeah, I'm just saying.

That's what I was thinking about.

You better get on my right side because I'm not looking left no more. All right, well.

Let's talk a little Lakers. Very, very briefly, Lakers on the second night of a back-to-back Wednesday against the Clippers at the Intuit Dome here in Los Angeles.

So, Luka took the night off. Yes, sir. Had enough bucket getting for it. Nah.

The 52 and then the 41 on the Blazers. That's not why we took the day off. Friday coming up.

He got lamb chopped.

Oh, I can't wait. That's why he took the day off. You got chicken and waffles on the way.

Yeah, he took the day off. Hey, they already said first 10 plays.

They already said that about Jackson.

I swear to God, I'm telling you the truth. They set his ass so he has all the energy for the Western game.

Jackson was balling.

Jackson was balling. Rookie of the year. That boy, I can't wait for him.

He get to play how he want to play too.

I bet he don't get 50. Who getting 50? Luka. Oh, Luca. Yeah. Back. Back good. All right. I'm on Yaks. All right, go finish what you said. I'm just enjoying you guys. Wait, hold on. Let me check.

Unless the refs don't file him out, that's the only thing that's.

Going to happen. They're going to file him out. Yeah, he filed out. He filed out. At Golden State Friday. No, no, no, no. He said he don't have no respect for Luka. Yeah.

Used to watch his highlights. Now he about to be a part of it. Basically called him a Slovenian bitch.

I wonder if the Lakers match Luka with Yaxa.

You know they ain't going to do that.

Who are they going to put him on? Who would they put him on? Santos or somebody? Who? Now, Yax is a second-leading scorer. You don't put... Right. No, no, no, no, no, no. He's the leading scorer. No, Yax was guarding... Steph is the leading scorer. I know. Yax was guarding Luka. Who's Luka? Do you think Luka matches up with him defensively? No.

So who does he guard? Who the other fuck is on the team? Who's... Anybody else? Maybe, you know, whoever. What's 360? Whoever the fuck else is out there. Probably Paz. Paz. Santos. Santos, maybe. Paz, Santos, Draymond. Just pick one.

You can't guard Draymond. Draymond's guarding himself. Draymond's too active.

Yeah.

So, Luka took the night off, giving other players the opportunity to get some shots and play some more. Lakers bounced back from their loss to the Blazers. With a 16-point win, Colin Sexton, big off the bench. He had 21 points in 21 minutes of action. Was a team high plus 23. But his defensive intensity had him going viral on the internet. Let's take a look, if we can, please.

So this is him guarding Cam Christie.

Yeah. Slave. Like a rabid doll. That was the look on his face. Yeah.

Appeared to be possessed as he was guarding Cam Christie, but That defensive intensity that J.J.

Redding is looking for. Lakers held the Clippers. 35% shooting. Or it's 24-12. Who's approved of 4-1?

You can't push off like that.

So that face is not doing anything to deter you from your mission.

I'm looking at the legs. Like, you went too low. I'm taking off.

But obviously, he went low because he was already sideways, so he knew he couldn't move like that anyway.

Paolo, can we see that video one more time, please? Yeah. I don't think I see it.

Yeah, he's got an attack top foot.

You got an attack top foot. A man possessed.

Man, that hop right there.

It was close to midnight. Yeah, that's cap. Yeah. That hop gone. Biting the tongue, too. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Dribble. Yeah, that shoulder. Yeah, that motherfucker going to be on the floor.

All right, well, let's extend this out. We saw Collin Sessions' face was going viral last night. So, question for the couch. Boogie, we'll start with you. Who was the scariest looking defender that you went up against? Not necessarily the scariest defender, but scariest looking almost Halloween.

Scariest defender? Scariest looking. So ugly.

You interpret that how you feel. I don't call anybody ugly. That's how I'm looking right now. Put some things. Ugly, man.

Shit. You just call a nigga ugly. It's crazy.

No, I'm saying.

He's saying, who's your ugly? It does add a competitive advantage. Like, who looks scary? You just think, who the scariest defender?

Yeah.

Nobody. Nobody wanted to win. I wasn't really concerned about no defenders. To be honest. Easy work. Easy work, man. The scariest looking defender that you went up against? Man, the only nigga that defended me was the referee and the coach. Eddie George. You know what I mean? That's the only person, man, who guarded me real good. George Carl.

Scariest defender. Damn, there's a lot. Another. George Carl. A Kobe Crawl reference earlier didn't show. Yeah. Swaggy, how about yourself?

Scariest looking defender that you faced during your time in the National Basketball Association?

Probably everybody on the Wizards, like on my team. Some ugly motherfuckers on that team. Yeah, when I left, it was y'all. Oh, my bad, my bad. I'm sorry. I was in Orlando. You was there because you came back ugly. They made you ugly. When you were number nine, you was looking fucked up too, so you added to it. So, yeah, it was a bunch of y'all ugly motherfuckers out there.

Andre Blatch, Light Skin, Ugly Niggas Reveal. Against us, Dominique McGuire. Yeah, it was a bunch of y'all. Antoine, big head ass. Shark Mouth, he was ugly as a motherfucker.

Yeah, they was all in my way. They was all in my way. They held you back. Your own teammates played the best defense against you. Yeah. Okay. There you go. Shout-out Colin Sexton. Shout-out Gills Lakers.

Yeah, I'm trying to think about when I first came in the league. You know, that's when, you know, that was still like that 90s group.

Right.

Oh, yeah, you had some. Bobby Searle, all them. Nah, those were the pretty boys. I came on the pretty boy team. Robert Packer. You remember my banger? Oh, Bo Banger. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, my God. My banger. Yeah.

Andrew Bynum, one time. When he had that slick, the pro arm shit.

No, I was in the league.

I was on that team.

In Philly? You saw that? Yes. He ain't played many games, though. No game. That was at the Orange? Yeah. Was it like Malcolm X? The Denzel one? Crazy, bro. Okay. Let it burn.

He was supposed to play. He got hurt bowling that same night. After like two months, three months.

He got hurt bowling?

Yeah.

How you do that? He was supposed to finally come back. He was out.

He came in the season hurt, so he was finally supposed to come back. It was like January or.

Yeah.

I guess he came in that morning and said, Brian, I'm not playing. He hurt himself bowling last night. What the fuck you hurt?

He was done for the season. He didn't play one game. For the season?

He didn't play one game.

One game. I know the one everybody was scared of defensively. Who that? Metta. Oh, yeah. He used to punk you? Well, the wings. Because you didn't know what to expect.

Because you didn't know what to expect because he didn't talk.

It's not like he was talking shit. That motherfucker put me in a headlock.

I said, this motherfucker really crazy.

Those bars got choked out in a quick eight seconds. I'm like, this motherfucker. I was on Golden State second year. Dole football. He doled for the ball. What? He has me in a full chokehold. With the ball in his hand. Motherfucker had me like this. I got the ball. He has my head. They call it jump ball. Say what?

Like the ball's like this. The ball's like this. He's sitting there like this.

Ref, look me in my eyes and jump ball.

Yep. The same thing happened to me, bro. He's training. He's training. Man, I was about to kick the ball like this. And I was like, and then I remember asking him, hey, man, have you ever gave him a tech? Like for talking. They was like, nah, Ron don't talk. Ron just do it. And then just. And be like. Yeah, just keep it going.

Elbow the shit out of James.

Nah, he definitely fucked me up. That was a nasty. I was at that game. You was at that one? When he elbowed James? It's like, what's going down? What you supposed to do? Unnecessary. Just take the elbow and keep it pushing. My fault, Meta. My fault. Put my face up. What you doing? What? Oh, shit. Nothing? Meta elbow?

I seen Meta. I was on the team. He turned Ryan on the plane a couple times.

Yeah. You leaving that shit alone?

I left it alone. You got to be friends with crazy people. You never know what to expect. I'll be friends with crazy people.

Just be friends with crazy people?

Yeah.

All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. Warriors started the season with three straight losses before 11th overall pick Yaxel Lindenberg and Steph Curry did work against the Nuggets Monday to get them in the win column. Yaxel Foley was Beverly Hills' cop in buckets. He finished with a career-high 31 points along with 12 boards and six assists while Steph had a perfect shooting night. Going 8 for 8 from the field, 3 for 3 from deep, and 5 for 5 at the line to put up 24 points.

The Warriors were in Minnesota Wednesday night to take on the White Ember Wolves, who are without Ant-Man for the next few months. Steph took advantage of the situation to do some vintage cheffing. Let's take a look at what went down. If we can, send a video, Paolo. So, Steph turned back the clock as the 38-year-old put up a season-high 44 points. The Wolves pounced first, opened up the game on an 8-0 run, but the Warriors responded closing the quarter with a 21-9 run of their own to lead by seven after the first frame. And Steph was doing it from everywhere, as we can see. Light skin to excellence. Steve Kerr, get that man some help, please.

Damn.

So Steph put up 17 points in the first six minutes of the second quarter.

Damn, he fucking McDaniels.

Whoever won it could get it. Hitting a barrage of three-pointers. This is my favorite one right here.

Bucket. Damn. LaMelo got that work. Damn. Look at the reacts. Oh, there it is. Let them know.

So, he helped the Dubs take a 16-point lead.

At the half. Daniel's got like 38 of that.

Daniel's a game-changer, motherfucker.

Damn. Why do they dance so skinny?

It's the black shoes, though.

It's the no socks. Yeah, it looked like....

But Kaminga did solid, too, playing against his former team. Kaminga had 20 points in the game. Dapped up a bunch of Warriors before the game. Steve Kerr, not among them, according to the video that was released. Oh, he changed shoes. He changed shoes. But Warriors kept piling on in the third quarter. We're up by as much as 24 points in that second half. And we're looking to cruise to an easy win But, Wolves started to make a comeback.

They ended the third quarter on a 27-15 run to cut the deficit to 12, heading into the final frame. And that's when things got a little interesting in this game. Minnesota kept attacking and chipping away at the Warriors' lead. But, it was not enough. One of LaMelo's few points in this particular game.

Yeah.

But, With just over two minutes remaining, Steph found Yaxel, threw down this monster dunk. Put Golden State ahead by 11. Wolves made one more run to cut the deficit to four, but Steph sealed the win at the line. In addition to his season-high 44 points, Steph had eight rebounds and six assists, hit six threes, and was a perfect 16 for 16.

From the line.

It was Curry's 15th 40-point game after age 35, tied with LeBron for the most in NBA history. Yaxo added 26 points and nine rebounds, but he also had seven turnovers. It was a rookie's third straight game with 25 or more points.

Rookie of the year.

So Jaden McDaniels, Terrence Shannon Jr. each had 19 for the Wolves. LaMelo Ball struggled. He had just eight points on three for 11 shooting. Rudy Gobert had one point and four rebounds in 20 minutes of action. Warriors got their second straight road win. So Swaggy, we're going to start with you. Former Warrior, NBA Champion of the World, the team that made you a champion. A select crew that you are a part of. A prestigious club. Shout out to my man, Steph. Making me number one in our fantasy right now. 44 last night, balling. You just tried to trade him.

I did it. He didn't play.

I thought he was out.

I thought he was out. Oh, man. I'm just saying, dog, like you. Like, be honest, dog. He's like, hey, man, how do I trade Seth, man, and put him on the bench? You a sick dude, bro. Thick ass dude.

Nah, because he didn't play that game, so I thought they was going to sit him because they like, you know, the Warriors wasn't looking too good.

You know what? I'm not going to say nothing else.

I can't believe sellout brothers in the town. I'm trying to go back to the Warriors and talk to my man, Steph.

So, Frank, what are your biggest takeaways from the Warriors getting their second straight win?

Oh, man. Eating the antlers Timberwolves.

Figuring out their roles, you know. Yaxel coming into his own. He's balling, making us, becoming a household name for this, you know, the next young generation. You know, he got The game, man, you know, cool little name. You know, ain't talk trash, back it up. Minnesota's kind of down now. They ain't got Ant-Man. But they still got enough to win.

So it is a disappointing loss for Minnesota. I think LaMelo got to step up more. But overall, with the Warriors, you're going to have to get performances like this from Steph every night for them to even have a chance. And I still feel it's going to be tough for them. But I like what I see out of the rookie Draymond and Steph. You know, they showing that championship pedigree.

You never lose that DNA. You never lose it? Does it never go away? I've never been a champion. Other than Little League. What?

39 given 44. That's, you know, it's something a lot of people don't know about. If you ain't never won, you wouldn't understand. But, Picking a guy like Yaxel, him coming in, performing the way he is, I think it's like the first time that Curb been playing rookies like this.

He got no choice. Yaxel old enough, though, to be a seasoned vet. Spent a lot of time in college, very educated.

Three degrees.

It doesn't make, it's like, we got Yaxel now. We didn't need Kaminga yet.

You could have had both. You could have had both.

You could have had both. But Yaks were making it a little, like.

I could have had both. They would have been in a way better position. For sure. We know that.

But if I was Kaminga, I would have shot a little bit more.

Kaminga, 20 points.

It don't make sense why he wouldn't get more shots. Like, it's outside of Steph before Yaks. Like, who the fuck was getting the shots? I'm talking about Kamiga. That's what I'm talking about. It makes no sense why you would be mad at him for wanting to shoot. He overvalued himself.

That's it.

I'm talking about playing against the Warriors yesterday. I would have shot a couple more shots.

Oh, I thought you meant while he was there.

Okay, the team's ass. We're just going to say that. The fact that a rookie can come in, even though he's not a rookie rookie, but he's a rookie and he's taking 20 shots.

That means your team ain't that good. Right? Right now, the only.

Offense they really have that seems consistent is, you know, obviously Steph and Axel. The rest of the team, they're just... I'm sorry. They're just not good.

Right?

They're just not there. Right?

No matter how you want to spin it and look at it, they're just not there.

So... Yaks is in a.

Perfect system right now where when you look at his skill set, he is a replacement of Draymond Green. if you're going to move Draymond Green.

Or he's the three-man, one-man.

He can play whatever you need him to play because he can do a little bit of everything.

Usually, 24-year-old rookies... usually still play like rookies, like the rest of them.

He's in that special class where there's really been only two rookies. Well, only one rookie that actually averaged 20, which is Dave Robinson, a 24-year-old rookie.

Was it Bog? Malcolm Bogdan?

Yeah, he still averaged 13. It's not like he dominated. So with his original high school class, He's actually still, this year right now, he's top five in performances on how they're playing this year.

With the age class. With his age class. I actually saw his class.

He was in a pretty deep high school.

Yeah. He wasn't even known. He was in a really deep high school class.

So this year they have, you know, Cade's in front of him still, Evan Mobley, Scotty Barnes, Wagner, and then him. They have him and Jalen Johnson, like right now, playing at the same level.

So he's made up a lot of back years. So even though you're calling him a rookie, he's still playing with his class. He's performing to where his class is right now. And that's what you always said.

If you're going to be an old rookie, you can't compare yourself to the current rookie class you're in. You've got to compare yourself to the age class and what they're doing. And he's handling it.

Yeah, so he can.

Talk all the shit he wants to talk because even though he has a rookie tag... he's playing like, he's like, Cade's a max, Evan's a max, Scottie Barr's a max.

He's technically a max if he keeps this up. For sure. Now it's trying to figure out where you go from here. And getting Jimmy back, then you have Yaxo, Jimmy, Steph, it's not enough. Right?

I mean, right now if I'm them, I'm just trying to figure out how I can build With the actual moving forward, like, Pod's cool.

I mean, if you're stuck on him and you see... Well, you're stuck $ 110, 000. If you see.

Because I know you're not going to get nothing for him.

No, nothing. Like, his skill set isn't your system. That's not your system. I heard he watched Brunson all... All summer. Watch a ton of Brunson film to learn how to draw fouls, learn how to, you know. That shit makes sense. Hey, listen, before you draw fouls, make shots. Like, you got to learn how to make shots first. Like, make the bucket first.

Fuck them free throws. Right? Like, watch. Brunson is crazy.

Like, watching Brunson was, Brunson's skill set started when he was little.

Are you about to tear the leaf now?

If you ain't learned how to get seven free throws in the game. He did have seven free throws in the game. He made four of them.

But still, like, Like, Brunson's skill set isn't getting free throws.

His skill set is getting buttons. Man, right.

Free throws is a part of that. When he sees this disadvantage, then he'll get you, catch you off guard. But he's trying to get a bucket first. The reason he can.

Draw fouls is because he's a good scorer.

Yeah. Not just because he can draw fouls. Like, it's two different things.

But he can, you know, watch it a ton of Brunson touch.

Motherfucker skipping steps. What I'm saying is, like, you... My thing is, you've been a second option for a while now, and you actually haven't shown. Yeah. That's my thing. Like, show me the glimpses of your game. The problem is, you're a left-handed combo-style guard. that actually needs the ball in pick and roll every single time. You need to play like Brunson. That's the offense you need. The offense you have right now is not meant for you. Because once you get it, you got to stop it. Then you got to call a pick over, try to get the big on you so you can manipulate him. Y'all don't have that kind of time in that offense.

They thought he was going to be like what, Reeves, Austin Reeves?

Who? Like that type of play, come out. Who thought that? The Kerr, Steve Kerr and the Warriors. I don't know what the fuck they thought. Couldn't. I don't know. Was this kid known as a scorer in college? I don't know. He probably had like three years.

How long have you been in the league?

One of the most respected conferences in the country. Four or five years now. I don't know. What was his numbers in college? Let me pull them up for you.

I mean, what he tries to do, you can see, okay, in college he was But it's like this ain't the offense for your style of ball, for you to thrive.

Like, you need.

Pick and roll every single play, right? Manipulate it. All right, let's get the bouncing. You bounce and dance on the big man. That's your style of play.

Yeah.

Yeah, I was 20 when the sophomore in college came. And that's the style of play. This pass, cut. Like, he's a rhythm guy. Where was most of the scoring coming from? Like, shooting or getting to the cup?

I'm trying to figure out his game now.

He's got 44% from three in college.

But it's like the Luka LeBron. It's like the Luka.

Brunson. Come down, pick and roll every time.

He has to manipulate the pick and roll and get that advantage because he doesn't have foot speed over the guard he wants.

But that's not the offense. Luka... But there's nothing.

Golden State is at a place where you have very smart veterans.

And you have Draymond Green who thinks the.

Game but there's nobody there for him to make look good.

You know what I'm saying? He is the guy that bridges this kind of thing. He can only make Steph look good.

Like Steph, Klay, and heighten these guys, but there's nobody on the other side for him to do that.

So it's like pick and roll.

It's not like he's going to go in and start taking 15 shots a game. So his numbers are going to look worse because he's not going to get the assists.

Right? That he needs. So, it's kind of like you got an older guy who knows what he wants to do. It's just not there. Yeah. Right?

When Jimmy gets back, maybe you can see, like, what they would need. But right now, it's just them two. They suck. Jimmy not expected back until at least February. Okay, so they suck.

Porzingis, they're trying to trade. He's got... Okay, they suck. Now, overseas, getting this deep run and shit. Now, apparently, his bank getting some money. Man, if we was doing that type of shit, it would be outrage. Now, if.

That's just so fucking disrespectful, bro.

How you gonna get new teeth when you can't come play basketball? Nigga, y'all just already said I can't play. Y'all said I had the shit. No, what I'm saying is I'm already medically... You're in Spain in the middle of the season. Yes, medically I can't play. Then I'm going on vacation. I'm going where the fuck I want to go. You shouldn't be home resting or getting well on IVs, something. Something.

At least in the States.

Where the fuck was I when y'all was playing? Yeah, where were you? Everywhere but the goddamn gym. I can tell you that. I can't play. I can't do nothing. That shit bogus. I can't do nothing. I can't do nothing. So I'm not going on road trips and shit like that. But you could. If Jimmy Butler was in Spain. Right now.

Come on, man. Getting his fucking teeth done. In the middle of the season. What would that story be like? I'm going to say, wait, hold on. Your black ass got a dentist over here.

That's what I'm going to say first.

There's 6,000 dentists in San Fran. What are we doing? Yeah, that's crazy. This motherfucker ain't played in four years. Come on, bro.

Now, if this was a perfect world, Yaxo was a great fucking pick for the team they thought they would have had. Now, if you bring Jimmy Butler back, right, and you add Porzingis, and you added him in the fucking mix, as the three, Steph and Jimmy, Yaxo, Draymond, and you got a whole fucking different team there.

I agree. That's a whole different team. I agree. If it was us, we're cookie and nuts, though, Gil. What would it be? Some cookies and nuts.

It never made sense to me with the Brazingas thing, though, because he wasn't healthy before they got him.

So to think he was going to be healthy, that was... You don't want to play them. What did he play for with Warriors? Three games? Yeah, but you know, it's a medical thing. What'd they do? They come in there and they say, what's your injury? And then they come in there, hit you in the old knee, see if you do that shit, check your bones. But he's been doing that shit with the Celtics. Check your bones. And then you'd be like, oh, he's cleared. He didn't play much for the Celtics either. I know. He's cleared. He won a chip with them, but he didn't really play.

So he played 32 total games last season with the Hawks and Warriors. So he was in that Kaminga's trade. Played 15 games with the Warriors last season, averaged 16 points per game. But like you said, it's been getting veneers. So somebody knocked his teeth out? I thought he was sick.

Wasn't he sick? Nah, nah, nah, nah. What's going on? Was he sick?

He's got an autoimmune issue that he's been dealing with.

What does that mean? Didn't they force Chris Bosh to retire? It's called POTS, Gil. I don't know. I ain't no doctor. See, that's the bullshit I'm talking about. Blood clots. But they forced Chris Bosh to retire.

This motherfucker in Spain with his feet up with a brand new mouth of teeth.

Jesus. I'm mad.

Up, though.

I love it. I love it. He missed a little bit of time.

Went to the Warriors facility, checked in with them, and then apparently he's back out the mix.

They didn't answer their phone calls or nothing.

Straight to voicemail. He gave me an extension, right? And he got an extension for not playing. What the problem is, I'm trying to figure out. Dern, he's Dern fighting for his life. Man. Fighting for his life after a championship. This motherfucker. Ain't I'm saying what? Ain't played since 2022.

Gives an extension.

Hey, man, sometimes you just got to know the right people. This thing is great.

You know what I mean?

Hold on. Hold on. I played two games and got one 11. You know what I mean?

I can imagine what they would say about me. Do you think I can?

Hell no. Hell no.

See, what he had to say, though, he had to tell the world he don't got that shit.

Because most likely, that's what everybody was saying.

They were saying that he did have either the virus that caused his HIV or AIDS.

You want somebody on your team to have to say that?

Hell yeah.

If we thinking it, what I'm saying is this.

If you're thinking it, then you have to come out and say, yeah. Like, I ain't got the shit. You know what I mean? I'm fucked up, but no, I don't got that. The Willie Lump Lump. Yeah.

Y'all ain't going to do that to me. Gil, you touched on Yaxel. Let's talk a little bit more about Yaxel. Been very impressive so far in his rookie campaign as he seeks to prove that he ain't no hoe. His words, not mine. Won't back down from anyone. So in five games, averaging 23 points, nine rebounds, four assists, while playing more than 33 minutes per game. His 112 total points in those five games, most by a Warriors rookie in that span since Wilt Chamberlain in 1959. Offense is there, as we can see. Steve Kerr's been a little bit critical.

Here you go, Steve. Here you go. Oh, man. Here you go. What the fuck did he say? That his defense needs some work. The whole team defense needs work. I mean, okay. If you look at his defense... He has he has the bones to be a straight stopper. I agree. He just don't he just don't like he's got to learn. He's just got to learn what like if Draymond Green isn't on that floor. He's going to get torched because he give up he gives up angles and he tries to make it up, you know with strength.

So he'll get a lot of fouls but because Draymond Green is back there Draymond is going to stop people from coming. I'm not mad at him having an impact. I'm talking about Steve Curry.

That's some shit you can say behind closed doors. It's the same fucking problem you can deal with every young player. You keep fucking calling them out in the media, critiquing them, downplaying them.

It's the same issue.

Shut the fuck up, man. He can play better defense. The whole team bad. You gonna call out the rookie?

Uh-huh.

That's seven turnovers in the last game. I admit he was playing soft.

That's why he can't develop no young players. He don't even know how to relate to them. Can't hold a relationship with nobody.

Kaminga dapped up a ton of Warriors staff. Did not see a video of him and Kerr acknowledging each other. But Boogie, let's talk about Yaxel and what he's got going on. Do you like what you're seeing from Yaxel Lindenberg? I love Yaxel.

I said earlier, I feel he had a chance at being Rookie of the Year because of the situation. The fact that Steve Kerr has already come out and said before the season even started that he was the team's second best player. So that says a lot. It shows he's going to have a lot of responsibility. He's going to have a lot of opportunity, and the ball's going to be in his hands. So just looking at the landscape of the rest of the rookie situation, it's going to be hard for A.J. because he's playing next to two all-star vets. So it's going to be hard for him to really, really get off. Um, I think Caleb Wilson will have an opportunity to, uh, you know, be a rookie of the year. Darren Peterson, he's in that, uh,

he got to share the ball with, um, Keontae George. So that's going to be tough to do. Um, and I'm sure I'm missing some more rookies, but I just.

Feel like you've got some guys that are, yeah, booze are going to have a chance as well.

Um, But just Yaks with his all-around game, obviously being a lot more mature than the rest of these guys, I just think that puts him, you know, more so ahead of the rest of the class. So he's a special talent, man. He can do a lot.

He can play both sides of the ball.

I think he's a true definition of a basketball player in a sense, can do a little bit of everything. So super versatile. Man, he got a chance to be a really good player in his league, man. So he's learning from one of the best in Draymond. Every single day he gets to pick his brain. And he seems like a good kid. Like, it seems like he wants to learn. It seems like he wants to get better.

You know, he don't think he too cool for school. So, I think he gonna have a good chance. Definitely gonna have a hell.

Of a career. He doesn't have Jason Tatum's PR training at this point.

Very, very vocal. I fuck with it. Came at Luka, said he don't respect Luka. Luka be whining and complaining and shit.

I'm tired of the friendly shit. I'm tired of the fake, you know. fake friends and, like, it's basketball. Everybody ain't gonna like each other. I think it keep it, you know, that much more interesting. I like, I like genuine, real rivalries. Like, I don't like the, you know, the fake made up. Like, there's some guys that don't like it. There's some guys that don't care for each other. Embrace that part. Obviously, we gonna keep it hoot, but I think it's better for the game overall. So, you know, just being as vocal as he is, outspoken as he is, he still keep it respectful, but I think it's a good personality.

It brings life to that team. It brings life to the league in general. So I think he's going to be a big-time player in his league.

Clamped up Luka in their first meeting. Luka was one for six in that game when Yaxa was the primary defender.

Just hit the buzzer beater at the half. We saw that, him clamping Luka. I didn't see that. You saw Luka getting clamped by Yaxa Lindenberg. Don't tell me what I fucking see.

It's the reason Luka called him out.

I see what I see. What? Huh? Whatever I want to see. And I seen Luger whoop his ass. I didn't see that. That's what I seen. Nah. Right? That's what I seen. He made a half-court shot. I seen that too. Anybody that was white and light, it was Axl. That's how I look at it. You know what I mean? I'm delusional too. We gonna see you Friday. 50.

They both have jobs and they both have shit to do, but Swaggy, Draymond Green on his show said that Yaxel will be the future face of the Warriors. Do you agree with that assessment from Draymond? Do you like what you're seeing so far from the 11th overall pick?

Yeah, and I just love to be talking about, you know, a 24-year-old rookie like this.

Give him some props, man. Old rookie, making a comeback.

Doing his thing, already got the kids saying, you know, they locking up like Yaxel. You know, I was at the gym the other day, they up there doing the, defensive things. So, I like that, bro.

For real.

So, the name already, the game, I didn't know he could ball like that until I really watched him. Because his performance wasn't that, you know, big against the Lakers. Only 12 points. But after that, you start seeing him show more than just, you know, the trash talk. And I like just the energy. Like, this young generation, they don't care, bro. They I see him call Sega, bro, a hoe or something like that in the interview. I was like, man, this shit is, I like this.

That's where you're at, because you're the man of the people on the streets, the young kids.

Locking up like Yaxel at 24. What day was this? They was playing one-on-one. When? And they was like, is that Yaxel? I'm just asking when. Monday, Tuesday, what day? It was.

Like two days after the Laker game.

When was the Laker game? That was last Wednesday, I think. So Friday? Yeah, Friday, our weekend, yeah. Friday? Yeah. Or the weekend? Friday technically is the end of the weekend. You think that the.

Nigga said the kids wasn't being active?

No, no, no, no. He already got the young blood.

He got the fro with the.

Is it Friday? It was Friday?

I don't know what. I know the kids said it.

What kids? You know what I'm saying? Why you hate Jackson? Why you lying? I'm not, honestly, I swear. That bitch ain't gonna tell me what the fuck I heard. That's the problem I'm talking about. Your kids saying it don't mean kids are saying it. Your kids say anything. Your kids say anything. The kids are crazy. They just crazy.

They watch the game.

They watch the highlights.

I'm just saying. So the game was on Wednesday the 21st. The game was on Wednesday. Did he say it Friday?

He said it.

Who? We was playing one-on-one. You and your son was playing one-on-one? No, we was all, yeah, we all at the gym. Oh, so, oh, okay.

We was at the fucking Luca, John Lucas, um, shit.

What time? Five o'clock. Five o'clock.

And we was playing the one-on-ones, and they wanted to play, and they was like, man, I'm going to show you that yaks are decent.

So five o'clock. Did you say the whole time? Bitch, it's only an hour.

Of course I have to stay.

How you going to get home? So how the fuck you do the show with us at 6 o'clock? Huh? On a Friday. You was recording Friday with us.

What time I get here?

What time I get here?

6.05.

No, no, no, no.

Yeah, yeah.

Thank you.

I don't stay far from you, motherfucker. I stay, motherfucker. 15 minutes from you.

Just because your son and you and Nice is playing and one of them just scream out.

So she don't mean the whole kids are saying it but they are reflecting of the youth they are reflection of the.

Youth no he ain't he ain't a basketball player.

Y'all old niggas are soft and couldn't say what y'all wanted to.

Say i'm mad at this motherfucker his son thought his son thought he was um yokich last year That nigga, you a guard.

Yo, I'm Jokic. Now you're like, he says anything.

Bitch, my son never said no joke.

Yeah, he thought it was Jokic. About to be Angel Reese if I was laughing. Anything. I'm just saying he would say anything. Angel Reese? Hey, he said it was Angel Reese. There's nothing wrong with that. Angel Reese is a very good basketball player. Oh, shit. It was Kalen Carr, Angel Reese. He's talking about, I'm an angel. Oh, my God. See?

He played 2K, right? He does. He does play 2K. And does he have a girl character? Are you crazy? He has a girl character. He's a shooting guard. He's a shooting guard. My daughter has a girl character. Yes. So your daughter has a street? Yes. She does.

Nigga, don't put that in there, yeah?

Yeah, so. Oh, man. Andrew's maybe a WNBA champion in there. No, but I'm just saying. The streets ain't saying it yet. But I'm going to tell you.

The streets are saying Yaks, man.

It's a cool-ass name, though. It is. He do got a cool name.

Is he from Detroit?

Yaks or Foley? Whoa! Yaks or Foley? He from Detroit? I think so. Man, he went to Michigan. I know he went to Michigan, but is he from Detroit? Hold on. I mean, yeah, he went to UAB before. I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah, nah. I don't think he went there. He from where? Jersey. Jersey, he from Jersey. Born in Puerto Rico. How did you get? Oh, he's a Puerto Rican? Grew up in Jersey. How did you get? I think he's Dominican. I ain't never heard that.

He's Dominican and grew up in Puerto Rico? Wait, he's Dominican? So, Dominican and Puerto Rican, I think it's a nice combo. Oh, so he's not black? Oh, he's not black? He's Puerto Rican and Dominican. I think so. So there's no black in them.

No.

Yeah, there's black in everybody.

Those ships made a lot.

Of stuff when they got to America. Since when the fuck are the Dominicans and Puerto Ricans.

Ain't been black? Those ships made a lot of stuff. When he said, we no black.

So he about to have a Hispanic community on fire.

I don't think they knew that.

I don't think they knew that. No, no, no, no, Gil. Stop this. Wait, I don't think they knew that. He's black, Gil. Those ships made a lot of stops, Gil. I'm going to say, he's about to be on the Puerto.

So he going to be on the Puerto Rican team.

Dominican and Puerto Rican, if I'm reading it. Oh, they got to fight for him. Oh, yeah. Oh, he's a hot commodity. Yeah, Holmes. Why you hating like that? I'm not saying. I'm just saying, like, hey, you about to be international then. All right, y'all, you don't see the vision. You was expanding. You don't see the vision. Yeah. They tried to put me on the Panamanian team.

Yeah, good birthday.

They tried to put me on the Panamanian team. I was like, I'm not Panamanian. They was like, we can make you Panamanian. I was like, for how much?

For how much? I'm not your friend. I'm not your friend. I'm not your friend. I'm not your friend. I'm not your friend.

0:00 / 0:00
