Welcome. This is a sleep hypnosis for anxiety and overthinking. If your mind has been busy today, if your thoughts keep circling round and round like moths around a lamp, then you are in the right place. Tonight, you do not have to solve anything. You do not have to figure anything out. You only have to listen. and let my voice keep you company as your mind slowly grows quiet.

Please listen only when you are lying down and ready to sleep, and never while driving. And if you are going through a very difficult time, remember that this recording is a gentle companion, not a replacement for real support from a doctor or someone you trust. Now, let us begin. Settle into your bed. Let your body find its shape.

Let the mattress hold your weight. Let the pillow hold your head. Let the blanket rest over you, soft and warm, like a quiet promise that you are safe. You might notice that your mind is still busy. That is perfectly right. You do not need to stop your thoughts. You do not need to fight them. Trying to push thoughts away is like trying to flatten water with your hands. The harder you push, the more it moves. So tonight, we are going to do something different. We are simply going to let the thoughts be there and slowly, gently turn our attention Somewhere else. Let us start with the breath.

Breathe in slowly through your nose for a count of four. One, two, three, four. Hold it gently. One, two, three, four. And breathe out slowly through your mouth for a count of six. One, two, three, four, five, six. Again, breathing in. One, two, three, four. Holding. One, two, three, four. And breathing out, slow and long. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Once more.

In, 2, 3, 4. Hold, 2, 3, 4.

And out, 2, 3, 4, 5. 6.

That longer out-breath is a quiet message to your body. It tells your heart that it can slow down. It tells your muscles that they can let go. It tells the oldest, deepest part of your brain that there is no danger here. No lion in the grass. No storm at the door. Just a quiet room and a soft bed. And the night. Let your breathing find its own rhythm now, slow and easy. Now I would like you to notice the places where your body touches the bed. Notice the back of your head resting on the pillow. Notice your shoulders, your back, your hips, the backs of your legs, your heels, Notice how all of these places are supported, held. You do not need to hold yourself up anymore. The bed is doing that for you. Now, let a feeling of

heaviness begin in your feet as if your feet were made of warm, wet sand sinking slowly into the mattress. That heaviness spreads up into your ankles, your calves, your knees, heavy and warm. It moves into your thighs and your hips, your whole lower body heavy and still. It flows up into your stomach and your stomach softens. Many of us carry our worries in our stomach. a tight knot held all day without noticing. Let that knot loosen now, just a little, and a little more. The heaviness rises into your chest. Your chest becomes warm and calm. Your heart is beating slowly and steadily, like the gentle tick of an old clock in a quiet house. It flows across your shoulders and down your arms, into your hands. Let

your hands open. Let your fingers uncurl. There is nothing you need to hold on to now. It rises up your neck. Your jaw unclenches. Your tongue rests softly. The tiny muscles around your eyes let go. And finally, your forehead, smooth and wide and calm, as if a cool hand were resting there, gently taking the heat of the day away.

Your whole body is heavy now, heavy, warm and still. And your mind can begin to follow, Now, in your imagination, picture yourself standing at the top of a gentle path on a quiet night. The path leads down through a few tall pine trees, toward a lake. You can see the water shining softly between the trees, silver and still under the moon. The air is cool and clean, and it smells of pine needles and damp earth. In a moment, I will count down from ten to one. And with each number, you will take a step down the path, closer to the water. And with each step, your mind will grow a little quieter. Ten. The first step. The ground is soft beneath your feet.

Nine.

The sound of the world behind you begins to fade. 8. The trees rise tall and dark on either side, like quiet guardians. 7. Your thoughts are slowing down, the way footsteps slow at the end.

Of a long walk. 6.

You can hear the faint lapping of the water now. Five. Halfway there. Calmer. Quieter. Softer. Four. The path opens out and you see the whole lake in front of you, wide and still. Three. Deeper. So peaceful.

Four. 2.

You step onto an old wooden dock that stretches out over the water. 1. You walk to the very end of the dock and you sit down. The lake is perfectly still, not a ripple. Its surface is like dark glass and in it you can see the reflection of the moon. and of thousands of stars, it is hard to tell where the sky ends and the water begins.

The night is silent, except for small, gentle sounds. The soft creak of the wooden dock, a light breeze in the pines. Somewhere, far across the water, the call of a nightbird. Sit here for a moment, and breathe. There's a kind of stillness in this place. that you may not have felt for a long time. A stillness that does not need anything from you. It is not waiting for you to finish your list. It is not asking you to decide anything. It is simply here, and you are simply here, and that is enough. Sitting at the End of the Dock let us breathe together with the lake for a little while. As you breathe in, imagine that the cool, clean night air is flowing into you, all the way down to your belly, fresh and calm,

smelling of pine and water. As you breathe out, Imagine that your breath is flowing out across the surface of the lake, smoothing it, stilling it, like a hand smoothing a blanket. Breathing in calm. Breathing out stillness. Breathing in the cool night air. Breathing out the heat of the day. Breathing in space. Breathing out tension. Now, let us count the breaths. Not to control them. Just to give the mind something soft to hold on to. The way a child holds a blanket. Breathe in. And as you breathe out.

Silently count.

One.

Breathe in again. And as you breathe out. Two. And three. And four. If you lose count. That is perfectly fine. It happens to everyone. A thought arrives and the counting slips away. When you notice there is nothing wrong, you simply smile and begin again at one. Five. Six.

Seven. 8, 9, and 10.

Notice how much slower your breathing is now than when we began. Notice how much quieter the world feels. The lake is still. The pines are still. The stars are still. and you are becoming still too. As you sit at the end of the dock, you might notice that your mind is still talking, a little voice going over the day, or worrying about tomorrow, or replaying a conversation again and again, looking for the thing you should have said. That is alright.

Let us look at that voice together, very gently. Imagine that inside your mind there's an old radio, the kind with a wooden case and a glowing dial and a big round knob for the volume. For a long time, This radio has been playing very loudly, many stations at once. A news station, talking about everything that could go wrong.

A station that replays old mistakes. A station that plans and plans and plans for things that may never happen. A station full of questions. What if? What if?

What if?

No wonder you have been tired. No one could rest with a radio playing that loudly all day and all night. But here is something important. You are not the radio. You are the one who is listening to it. And the one who is listening can reach out. And gently, slowly, turn down the volume. Reach out now in your mind and place your hand on the big round knob. Feel how smooth it is, how easy it is to turn.

And begin to turn it down slowly. The voices become a little quieter. Turn it a little more. The words begin to blur together. You can still hear that the radio is on, but you cannot quite make out what it is saying. A little more. Now it is only a soft murmur, like people talking in another room, far away.

behind a closed door. And a little more. Now it is almost nothing. A faint hum. A whisper. And now, the radio is so quiet that the sounds of the lake are louder. The creak of the dog. The breeze in the pines. the soft, slow sound of your own breathing. You do not have to turn the radio off completely.

You do not have to break it or throw it away. Sometimes it has useful things to say. During the day, when you need to plan or solve a problem, you can turn it up again and listen and use what it tells you. but at night it can play softly, very softly, in the background while you rest. Notice how it feels to have that space in your mind, that quiet.

You may find that your thoughts come back from time to time, a worry floats up and suddenly the volume rises a little. That is normal. Minds do that. Every time it happens, you do not need to be annoyed. You do not need to criticize yourself. You simply notice and you smile and you reach out to the knob and you turn it gently back down. Again and again, as many times as you need, Each time it becomes a little easier. Each time the quiet comes back a little faster. Now look down at the water, just beside the dock. You notice that small things are floating there. Leaves, dozens of them. Wide, flat autumn leaves. gold and red and brown, resting on the surface of the dark water.

And slowly, you realize that the lake is not completely still after all. There is a very gentle current moving out from the dock toward the middle of the lake and beyond, slow, patient, almost invisible. Here is what we are going to do with your thoughts tonight. Whenever a thought appears, whatever it is, I would like you to imagine it. placing it on one of these leaves and then simply letting it float away you do not need to answer the thought you do not need to agree with it or argue with it or solve it You just place it on a leaf and you watch it drift.

Let us try. Perhaps a thought comes about something you need to do tomorrow. Place it on a leaf, set the leaf on the water and watch. The current takes it very gently. It turns a little as it goes. It moves away from the dock. Further, further. Out into the silver light of the moon. Getting smaller and smaller.

Until you can no longer see it. Perhaps a thought comes about something that happened today. Something that bothered you. Something someone said. Or something you said. Place it on a leaf. Let it go. Watch it float away across the still water. Further and further. Smaller and smaller. Gone. Perhaps a thought comes that is just a feeling, a worry with no words, a heaviness in your chest, a restlessness.

That can go on a leaf too. Even feelings can float. Set it on the water and watch it drift slowly out into the darkness. carried by the patient current. Notice that you are still here, on the dock, while the leaves float away. You are not the leaves. You are the one who is watching them. Your thoughts are visitors.

They come and they go. Some of them are friendly, and some of them are not, but none of them is you. You are the quiet one, sitting at the end of the dock, under the stars, watching. Let a few more leaves float away now, in your own time. Whatever comes up, a thought, a picture, a memory, a plan, Place it on a leaf. Let it go.

Place it on a leaf.

Let it go. Now, there is one more thing I would like to show you. Beside you on the dock, there's a small wooden box. It has a lid and a little brass clasp. This box is for the worries that feel too important to just let float away. The ones that say, but I really must deal with this. The real problems, the ones that truly need your attention.

Those worries are allowed to stay but they do not need to stay with you tonight. Open the lid of the box and one by one, put those worries inside. The bill, the appointment, the difficult conversation, the decision you have to make, put them all in the box. And now close the lid and fasten the clasps The box will be here in the morning. Nothing will be lost.

When you wake up, rested and clear, you can open it and take out one worry at a time and deal with it calmly, in the daylight, with a fresh mind. But not now. Now is not the time for worries. Now is the time for rest. The worries are safe in the box. and you are free to sleep. The current carries the last of the leaves out of sight, and for a while, you simply sit and listen to the quiet. But perhaps, somewhere in that quiet, you notice one more voice Not the loud radio this time. A smaller voice. A sharper one. It is the voice that judges.

The one that says, you should have done better. You always get this wrong. Why are you like this? What is wrong with you? Many people who overthink carry a voice like this, It is often the loudest voice of all, and the most tiring, because it is not just worried about the world, it is worried about you. Let us listen to that voice for just a moment, with curiosity, not fear. Where did it come from? Often, a voice like this is very old. It may have started when you were small. It may sound a little like someone from your past, a parent, a teacher, someone who expected a great deal. Or it may simply have grown by itself over many years out of a wish to keep you safe from mistakes. Whatever its story, that voice was

trying to help in its own clumsy way. It thought that If it was hard enough on you, you would never fail, never be hurt, never be rejected. But it was wrong about one thing. Harshness does not make us stronger. It only makes us tired. So now, imagine that a second voice begins to speak. a warmer one. It is the voice of the kindest person you have ever known, perhaps a grandparent, a friend, a teacher who believed in you, or simply the voice of a very wise and gentle part of yourself that has been waiting a long time to be heard. And this voice says something different. You did your best today with what you knew and what you had. You are allowed to make mistakes. Everyone does.

You do not have to be perfect to be worthy of rest. You are doing better than you think. Notice how your body responds to this voice. Perhaps your chest opens a little. Perhaps your breath grows deeper. Perhaps something inside you, something that has been braced for a long time, begins to soften. This is how it feels to be spoken to with kindness. And you can speak to yourself like this every day, every night, not because you have earned it, but because it is true. Now imagine that the warm voice turns toward the sharp one, the critical one, and speaks to it too, gently. Thank you for trying to protect us, it says. You have worked so hard.

But you can rest now. I will take it from here. And slowly, the sharp voice grows quieter, softer. It does not disappear completely, but it steps back, it sits down, and for the first time in a long time, it is quiet. Breathe with that quiet. From now on, whenever the sharp voice speaks, you can remember the warm one.

You can ask yourself, what would the kindest person I know say to me right now? And you can say it to yourself. You did your best. It is all right. You can rest now. Across the lake, on a small rocky point, you notice a light. It is a lighthouse, small and white and old, with a soft golden lamp turning slowly at its top. Every few seconds, its beam sweeps gently across the water and then moves on. Near the bottom of the lighthouse, on the rocks by the shore, you can see a small boat tied to a post.

As you watch, it begins to drift towards you, carried by the slow current until it bumps softly against the end of the dock. Step into the boat now. It is wide and steady. There are soft cushions in the bottom and a warm blanket. Lie down and pull the blanket over you and let the boat carry you. Slowly, across the still water, toward the lighthouse. The boat glides silently.

You can hear the faint ripple of the water against its sides. Above you, the stars are turning slowly. And every few seconds, the golden beam of the lighthouse passes over you, warm and gentle, and then moves on. When the boat reaches the rocky point, it comes to rest in a small, sheltered cove. And there, sitting on a flat stone beside the water, is the lighthouse keeper. She is an old woman with silver hair tied back and a thick woolen sweater and a face that has seen many storms. Her eyes are calm and clear, like the lake itself. She smiles at you as if she has been expecting you. You look tired, she says gently. Busy, mind?

You nod. She laughs softly. Mine used to be like that too, she says. Come, sit with me for a while. and you sit down beside her on the warm flat stone for a long time. She says nothing. She just watches the water and the slow turning of the light above. And then she speaks. I have kept this light for 40 years. She says, and in 40 years, I have seen every kind of weather. Storms that lasted for days.

Fog so thick you could not see your own hand. Winds that shook the whole tower. Waves taller than houses. And you know what I have learned? You shake your head. The weather always passes, she says. Every single time. However wild the storm. However long the fog. The weather always passes. And behind it, the sky is still there. The same sky.

Calm and wide and endless. It was there the whole time. The storm never touched it. She turns to look at you. Your thoughts are like the weather, she says. Some days are clear. Some days are stormy. Some days the fog of worry is so thick you cannot see anything else, but you are not the weather, you are the sky.

The worries pass through you like clouds, the fears pass through you like rain, but underneath it all, behind it all, there is a part of you that is always calm, always wide, always still. That part of you has never been touched by any storm. It is there right now. Let yourself feel that, if you can. Not as an idea, but as a feeling. Beneath your thoughts, there is space. Wide, quiet, open space. like the night sky above the lake. Thoughts move across it, and the sky lets them move. It does not grab them. It does not push them. It simply holds them and lets them pass. You are the sky.

The lighthouse keeper reaches into the pocket of her sweater and takes out a small glass ball. Inside it, there is a tiny lighthouse and a tiny lake and a tiny sky, a snow globe. She shakes it gently and hands it to you. Inside the globe, the snow is swirling wildly, round and round. Thick and fast, you can hardly see the little lighthouse through it. This is your mind when you are worried, she says, everything stirred up, everything moving at once. Now watch. You hold the globe still in your hands, and slowly, the snow begins to settle.

It drifts down, softly, flake by flake. The swirling slows, the storm calms, and little by little, the tiny lighthouse appears again, clear and bright, its little light glowing. You did not have to do anything, she says. You did not have to push the snow down. You only had to hold still and wait. Stillness does the rest. Your mind is like this tonight. All you need to do is be still. Lie still. Breathe slowly. And let everything settle.

Flake by flake. Thought by thought. settling, settling, until everything is clear and calm and quiet. The lighthouse keeper smiles and stands up and stretches. I have a light to tend, she says. But you can stay here as long as you like. The boat will take you home when you are ready. And she climbs the steps of the old white lighthouse and disappears inside. A moment later, you see the golden lamp at the top glow a little brighter and keep turning, slow, steady, faithful, watching over the lake, watching over you, Lie back now in the boat. Let it drift gently away from the rocky point, out onto the open water, under the enormous sky. You are safe here, completely safe. Many of us carry an alarm inside us.

A little guard who never sleeps. Always watching for danger. Always checking. Always asking, is everything alright? Did I forget something? What if something goes wrong? That guard has been working very hard for you. day and night for a very long time. It has been trying to protect you and it is exhausted. Tonight, you can thank that guard silently in your own words. Thank it for trying so hard to keep you safe. And now, gently, You can tell it that it can rest. You are safe. The doors are closed. The night is quiet. There is nothing that needs to be watched right now. The lighthouse is keeping watch.

The stars are keeping watch. You can let your guard sit down and close its eyes and sleep too. Feel what happens in your body when the guard rests. Perhaps your shoulders sink a little lower. Perhaps your breathing becomes a little deeper. Perhaps your stomach softens. Perhaps your hands grow warmer. This is your body remembering how to feel safe.

It has always known how. It just needed permission. Now imagine a soft, cool, silver light, like moonlight, beginning to pour gently over you as you lie in the boat. It flows over the top of your head and your mind becomes cool and clear. like a lake at midnight. It flows over your face, and every muscle in your face relaxes completely. It flows down your neck and across your shoulders, washing away the last of the tension, the way a gentle rain washes dust from a window. It flows into your chest, And wherever there was tightness, there is now space. Wherever there was a knot, there is now softness. It flows into your stomach, cool and soothing, settling everything. It flows down your arms and out through

your fingertips, down your legs, and out through your toes, carrying away anything you do not need, anything heavy, anything restless, out into the dark water where it dissolves and disappears. You are calm now, deeply, completely calm. Your thoughts are slow and soft and far away, Your body is heavy and warm and safe. And the boat drifts on under the stars carrying you gently towards sleep. As the boat drifts on, let your mind float forward just a little to tomorrow morning. Not to worry about it. only to see it differently. Imagine waking up tomorrow after long, deep sleep.

The light in the room is soft. You lie still for a moment before you get up, and you notice something. Your mind is quieter than usual. The radio is still playing softly in the background, But it is not shouting. It is calm. There is space between the thoughts. You take a slow breath. In for four. Out for six.

And you feel your body wake up gently. Rested and clear. You get up and make something warm to drink. and while it steams in your hands, you think of the little wooden box, the one with the brass clasp, where you left your worries last night. You open it calmly, and you take out just one worry, only one. You look at it in the morning light, and you notice that it seems smaller now, less sharp, less frightening. In the dark, It looked like a mountain. In the daylight, it looks more like a hill. Still there. Still real.

But something you can walk up, one step at a time. You ask yourself a simple question. What is one small thing I can do about this today? Not everything. Just one small thing. A phone call.

An email.

A note on a piece of paper. A conversation. A first step. And you do that one small thing. And you put the rest of the worry back in the box for later. Because you do not have to carry everything at once. Then you go about your day and notice how you move through it. When a worry rises, you notice it. You breathe. You turn the volume down a little. You remind yourself, I am the sky, not the weather. When the sharp voice speaks, you hear the warm one answer. You did your best. It is all right.

When you feel your mind start to race, you pause just for a moment. You feel your feet on the ground. You feel the air going in and out of your body. And you come back to the present moment, where things are usually much simpler than they seemed. You are not a different person. you still have things to deal with.

Life still has its storms, but you are meeting them from a calmer place, a wider place, like the lake, like the sky. And when evening comes and you lie down in bed again, you know the way back, down the path, through the pines, out to the end of the dock, into the little boat, under the stars, The way is always there whenever you need it. But for now, let tomorrow go. Let it float away like a leaf.

It will be there when you wake. Come back to this moment, to the boat, to the water, to the stars. To rest. As you drift across the lake, I am going to speak some quiet words to the deeper part of your mind. You do not need to repeat them. You do not need to remember them. Just let them settle like snow in the globe. Softly.

One by one.

I am safe. I am calm. My mind is quiet. My body is resting. I am not my thoughts. I am the one who notices them. Thoughts come and thoughts go. I let them pass like clouds. I do not need to solve everything tonight. Tomorrow will come in its own time. I will meet it with a rested mind. Right now, I only need to rest. I release what I cannot control.

I let go of what has already happened. I let go of what has not happened yet. I am here now and here is peaceful. I am allowed to slow down. I am allowed to rest. I do not have to earn my rest. I deserve peace just as I am. When worry comes, I breathe. When worry comes, I turn the volume down. When worry comes, I place it on a leaf and let it float away. I am the sky, not the weather. I am kind to myself. I speak to myself gently. I forgive myself for my mistakes. I am learning and I am growing. I am doing better than I think. My breathing is slow and deep. My heart is calm and steady. My shoulders are soft. My hands are open. My whole body feels safe. I trust myself.

I trust that I can handle what comes. I have handled hard things before. I can handle hard things again. But not tonight. Tonight I rest. Let these words settle now, slowly, softly, like snow, like leaves on water, like stars appearing one by one in a deep blue sky. The boat is drifting toward the middle of the lake now, where the water is deepest and most still. The lighthouse is far behind you, a small golden star turning slowly on the shore.

The pines are dark shapes in the distance, and above you, the whole sky is open, enormous and calm. The radio is quiet. The worries are in the box. The leaves have floated away. The snow has settled. There is nothing left to do. Nothing left to think about. Nothing left to hold. Only the gentle rocking of the boat. Only the soft sound of the water. Only your slow breathing.

and peaceful breathing. In a moment, I'm going to count down from 10 to 1, one last time. And with each number, you'll sink deeper and deeper into a calm, restful, healing sleep. And when it is time to wake, you'll wake feeling clear and light and refreshed.

10. Drifting. 9. Deeper. 8. So calm. 7. So quiet. 6. The water is still. 5. The sky is wide. 4.

Your mind is soft. 3. Letting go. 2. Almost asleep. 1. Sleep now. You are safe. You are calm. Everything can wait until morning.

Sleep. As you sleep.

These quiet words will stay with you. You do not need to listen. Just rest. I am safe. I am calm. I am at peace. My mind is quiet. My body is heavy. My breath is slow. Thoughts come and go. I let them pass. I am the sky, not the weather. I release today. Tomorrow can wait. Right now, I rest. I'm kind to myself. I am enough. I am doing my best. Everything is settling. Everything is calm. Everything is quiet.

I let go. I let go. I let go. I am safe. I am calm. I am sleeping deeply. Peace in my mind. Peace in my body. Peace in my heart. Rest now. The lake is still. The night is calm. And you are resting deeply. My thoughts are slowing down. My mind is growing quiet. Silence is gentle and kind. I am held. I am supported. I can let go completely.

There is nothing to fix tonight. There is nothing to solve tonight. There is only rest. Every breath makes me calmer. Every breath makes me softer. Every breath takes me deeper. I let the snow settle. I let the water grow still. I let the night carry me. I am gentle with myself. I am patient with myself. I am proud of myself for resting. Calm mind. Soft body. Quiet heart. Far across the water, the lighthouse turns slowly, watching over you while you sleep. I am safe in this moment. I am safe in this bed. I am safe in my own mind.

Worries are only clouds. They come and they go. The sky remains. I do not have to carry everything. I put my worries down. They can wait until morning. I trust the night. I trust my body. I trust that all is well. My breath is like the tide. Slowly in. Slowly out.

I am enough.

I have always been enough. I will always be enough. Peace flows through me. Peace surrounds me. Peace is who I am. Resting. Dreaming. As you sleep, these quiet words will stay with you. I am kind to myself.

Calm mind.

Soft body. Quiet heart. far across the water the lighthouse turns slowly watching over you while you sleep I am safe in this moment I am safe in this bed. I am safe in my own mind. Worries are only clouds. They come and they go. The sky remains. I do not have to carry everything. I put my worries down.

They can wait until morning. I trust the night. I trust my body. I trust that all is well. My breath is like the tide, slowly in, slowly out.

I am enough.

I have always been enough. I will always be enough. Peace flows through me. Peace surrounds me. Peace is who I am. Resting. Dreaming. As you sleep, these quiet words will stay with you.

I am kind to myself. I am enough. I am doing my best. Everything is settling. Everything is calm. Everything is quiet. I let go. I let go. I let go. I am safe.
