Hello listeners and welcome back to another episode of Law and Order Special Viewing Unit, the show where we view, review, and lovingly ridicule everyone's favorite cop drama, Law and Order Special Victims Unit, every episode in a row from the beginning.
So you don't have to.
It's... I guess.
Oh wait, let me do that again, let me do that again.
Ready? Yeah, do it again. Go, go ahead, do it again.
This whole thing?
I don't know.
Uh, so you don't have to because at this point I can't imagine why you would want to. I am your host, Matt Reuter. Joining me, as always, the, what is it, the phallus power? Phallus king?
Phallus lover?
Phallus lover, whatever the phallus handle on the dark web. That's Aviv Rubenstein over there. How are you doing today, Aviv?
Our boss, name's Olivia, got buffalo nuts.
Yeah, I was... You know, now that Rose is doing that, I'm kind of also thinking, like, what is going to be Aviv's pull quote? That is not one that I had down. I had a different one.
Oh, I figured that would be the obvious one.
No, there were a couple that I was like.
The omegas are rising. We're getting what we're owed. I'd go out with you if my husband would get out of town once in a while.
How are you doing, Aviv?
I'm doing well. It's Sunday.
We're recording on a Sunday, which is... Not typical for us. And I spent the first half of the day editing our episode for tomorrow, which is season 20, episode 3.
So you've had a whole day of this.
A whole day of you. And watching the Eagles get their fucking shit beat.
What a terrible day.
What an awful day.
This sounds like the worst day you could possibly have, actually. I would also like to remind listeners, or just inform, not remind, listeners that.
We've told you a million times.
You also specifically requested to move recording to today rather than yesterday. So you actually set yourself up for this.
One, buddy. Because yesterday I had a rare afternoon show for Jacob the Horse. We played with a band that I've mentioned on the show before, Had Had, who covered one of my favorite Philly band songs. A band that I really loved. They broke up in 2007, called The Teeth. So I saw Had Had play a Teeth cover. And then we played with them yesterday, knew that they were going to do their teeth cover, so we did a different teeth cover. Nice.
And then the teeth reposted our cover.
So that's cool.
Hey, that's fun.
Yeah, pretty fun. But I've had a pretty good week on the work front.
I'm done with a bunch of things. I'm done with my haunted house script.
Hey, finally.
So who the fuck knows?
But yeah, and I did my like pickup for my short film and I, finished an edit or mostly finished an edit for like a comedy thing i did so i'm feeling great except for i fucked up my back so in in one of those things now i'm like creaking around so can't can't win can't win them all can you you know.
I think that means you gotta you gotta you take one thing off the plate so like one of those things should have stayed longer than you you keep that balance.
That's great the old coco chanel quote um jews aren't people.
I believe that is uh I think there's a sick at the end there because she spelled people wrong.
She did. She was a Nazi. Oh, I also did just a wonderful thing yesterday.
Was that Chanel? I thought that was one of the other big.
Coco Chanel was... I mean, there were many Nazis, but Coco Chanel was a Nazi, right?
I have no idea.
Yeah, she... I know... During the German occupation of Paris, Chanel lived at the Hotel Ritz and had a romantic relationship with Baron Hans Gunther von Dink. Dinklage, a German military intelligence officer. So she, if not a full Nazi, then a Nazi fucker.
Right, again, it's the line from Cabaret, like, if you're not against this, then you're for it, type situation. Yes, there is no middle ground situation, sure.
Speaking of Nazi fuckers in this week's episode, how's your week been, Matt?
Speaking of, like, getting things together, so the reason to be behind the curtain here, The reason that we are recording on Sundays, because we're doubling up this week, because I will be... Cassie and I will be hosting my mother-in-law and my niece. They're coming out here for my niece's birthday.
And... She didn't want to watch the episode with you guys?
She's not here yet, so... No. And nor... Specifically this.
Oh, for.
She's a... No, Alpha? Gen Alpha, I guess? So it's like, I'm sure she's going to deal with plenty of these people if she hasn't already. She doesn't need to watch it. She's living it.
I do feel like they've evolved a little bit. Not in a good way, but they've evolved a little bit from this. The terminology's a little outdated, but we'll talk about it.
Right, yeah. The terminology's updated. The thought process and reasoning behind it is the same. Evergreen. If you can believe it. Correct.
And if only women... All weren't bitches. And whores?
If only.
And will... But not... But not the right.
They're whores for everyone but me, and that's the problem?
Yeah, I mean, it's... Okay. I don't... You know what? We're gonna, I guess, talk about this... It seriously was bone-chilling hearing some of this. It felt dated, but somehow seeing this on.
A television show... Dated but not dated, yeah. I... It was especially weird for me because, as I mentioned at the end of last week's episode, I know one.
Of the victims.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah. What was the follow-up on that?
So, yeah. So Sarah says hi.
Which one was Sarah?
The first one.
The main girl, Anne. And so Sarah says, like, let's stay in touch. I, like, reached out, kind of. kind of generally, I was like, Hey, what's up? I don't know if you remember me. Uh, I'm like, saw you on law and order. And she's like, Hey, thanks.
Thanks for reaching out. Like, let's stay in touch. And I was like, cool. You, are you busy?
And she didn't get back to me.
Well, there you go. Yeah.
Yeah. But she's, she's, she's very cool and very nice. And like, I'm extremely good actor. I, you know, I don't know if she's any better or worse than any of the other, um, uh, uh, cast members in this specific episode.
Yeah, here's the thing. Everyone plays their part pretty well.
I agree, I agree. And real sweet, nice person.
Yeah.
That's my insight on Sarah.
Good to know. It's good to know we have a little connection to this week's episode, which is season 20, episode 4, entitled Revenge. But before we do that, we are going to take a very quick trip to the mailbag.
Yes!
First email. Only email?
First email first email is from super fan of long emails with multiple fonts lily oxen lily.
Wait there's not multiple well it's the same font just italicized i think well wait hold on i also well okay i don't count the signature block that's different.
I do i do well um yeah this is this is this is one of the rare emails with that doesn't have like different sizes and stuff i i wonder Okay, so Lily writes in an email entitled, Elizabeth Holmes' and Noah's ages oddly. Wait, Elizabeth Holmes' and Noah ages oddly. Oddly in all caps. Hi, guys. Oh, so excited for the Holmes documentary and read an interview with Vanity Fair, which is really interesting. From Vanity Fair, it was an interview with Nathan Fielder. I did see this interview as well.
Vanity Fair says the more interesting part is what Nathan Fielder says he got out of making it. He said that he and director Lance Oppenheim repeatedly discussed what they were witnessing, but none of them could reach a consensus about what was actually happening in Holmes and Billy Evans' household.
Billy Evans is the husband. That uncertainty became the reason that they kept filming. And Fielder's answer is unusually self-aware. He doesn't think he came away with a definitive answer of understanding of Holmes. He said, quote, I really am struggling to this day to understand what exactly happened, what exactly I experienced. He went on to say that he's actually excited for audiences to see the film, actually excited.
Every director is excited for, shut up, for this to see the film because he wants other people to help him understand what he experienced. So rather than quote, I made this documentary because I wanted to expose Elizabeth Holmes. His explanation is closer to, I encountered something I couldn't make sense of, and the inability to make sense of it became the subject of the film itself. Apparently there is a twist involving an A-list actor, but no one is spilling the beans. I'm really excited to see it.
I'll tell you who the A-list actor is. This has been the rumor around town, is that Amanda Seyfried is in the documentary, because she played Elizabeth Holmes in the dropout around this time. If I were Nathan Fielder, I would do any sort of recreation or dramatization that I had to do, I would just call up Amanda Seyfried and be like, you want to put the turtleneck on again?
Well, okay, so here's my question, though, because I think it's an interesting response saying, like, I didn't know what I encountered, so I'm excited to have someone basically tell me what I encountered. Now, granted, I understand. He's a professional promoting a film. Yeah. That's an intriguing hook.
And he's he that like that's part of his whole shtick is like what is real and what is fake.
Right because it's like sir you can't literally edit a film and be like i don't know what i encountered you have you.
Have you realized the act by other stuff.
Not really I've seen like a handful of Nathan For You episodes, but like half of them out of context that are just.
Like, I don't, I don't know.
If you watch the rehearsal.
Why did you design this machine to tear your clothes off in front of children?
I don't understand.
If you watch the rehearsal, I think you will be deeply uncomfortable, maybe in a good way, but also like it does give you this experience of like, what did I just watch?
What was that? Was that fiction or reality? Does he know?
Do I know?
Do any of the actors know? Are they actors?
How deep does the rabbit hole go?
It feels to me a bit like if you replaced Borat with Michael Scott and just had him travel the world.
Yes, Borat, yes.
Just making people feel really uncomfortable. due to social awkwardness.
So so and the and the and i think the reason that this documentary is going to be so great is he's not making people uncomfortable anymore he is the one being made uncomfortable.
Right right no i'm not saying like i still want to see this i'm just saying the general vibe from his whole kind of shtick yeah it's that's kind of what and i this is not me.
No, no, no. I totally get that.
I can appreciate it. It's very mood dependent. It's the same reason why I can watch three or four episodes of The Office, and then by the time I get to the fifth one, I'm just like, I have to take a break for several years. Because I can't deal with this level of just like, nope. I live and experience this on a daily basis in my own existence.
I don't need to.
See it amplified on screen.
Okay.
Like, hell yeah, dude, I'm, I'm already awkward enough. We don't, I don't need to like take notes.
Oh, you're smooth. You're smooth. Um, uh, uh, Lily goes on.
Lily recommends, and I know I'm quote slow to the ball game here, but slow horses. It's fantastic. And we're finally on season six. The actor Jack Loudon is the spitting image of Simon Pegg two years ago. What? And has really similar comedic similarities. really similar comedic similarities to Peg. Okay?
It's definitely worth a watch.
I seem to remember that Lily is a big Simon Peg, a big Peg head, as they say.
Oh, is that what? Okay. Yeah, I've seen the first two seasons of that. Maybe it was the three?
I think it was.
No, I saw the first three seasons of that, and then I kind of fell off of it.
I have not seen any of it, and that's all I have to say about that. watching season 27 I can't even remember half the storylines because it's all Noah Noah Noah might be kidnapped and now they've thrown in the gaggle of Rollins spelled wrong Rollins' kids to spice up that mix and all start getting carted off to aunt's houses no grandma's as Banshee batshit Sheila is still in the psych ward But there was one thing I noticed is that Olivia says in a line off the cuff that Noah is 15. And I was thinking, wait a second, wasn't he like a baby voice babbling preteen last season?
And I was right.
Apparently they super aged Noah because the actor couldn't play the little weasel anymore, despite there being no mention that it's been three years since the last season ended to fill the age gap. This is, this also happened on, um, Modern Family. They just, like, aged the little girl. No, no, no, the girl. They, like, recast her and all of a sudden she was three. From Googling it, season 20 aired in 2018-2019, which is... This is where we're at. Noah was still around four to five years old. Ryan Buggle played Noah at this point. Noah had been introduced as a baby in season 15. If you're watching season 20, then jump... to the much later storyline where he's suddenly 15.
That's roughly a 10-year apparent age gap over the course of the show, and that's been eight years. So, you know, 10 to 8, that's not that bad. Can they just schlep this kid off to boarding school and leave him there? Or, I'm now thinking they're gearing up for Benson's imminent fall into empty nest syndrome, and then she tries to kidnap Noah from college.
But who knows? But this kid blows.
No, no, she'll just steal another baby.
Yeah, yeah.
Sunrise, sunset.
Exactly.
Oh, and get ready for the constant crossover stories with organized crime, which gets irritatingly confusing because if you don't watch the other franchise, you have no idea what the SVU storyline is.
Loads more of Boop Stabler's back.
And he and Olivia are narrowly kissing in her kitchen or his kitchen. I think it was an ep in organized crime, but it never happens. Noah is threatened. But for season 20, get ready for more nonsense.
By the way, you should be threatened by Stable. He will put you through a fucking wall.
He'll fucking get you. Get ready for more nonsense. Nixxiom cult stuff. A lovely episode on filicide. Filicide?
Like killing your son?
Episode 9, where, as I mentioned before, Stone's a rapist. Mario Batali-inspired episode. And Matt's old friend is back in Alta Cockers. We talked about this last week that Wallace Shawn is.
In Alta Cockers.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Season 20, episode 10. He's inconceivable. And this episode is noted as one of the best iced tea episodes. I'm gearing up for season 28. I really hope they do some good storylines like Rawlings spelled differently and still wrong. Gambles one of her kids for money because she's about.
Gambles one of her children for money.
Because she has about five of them now. She's gaining on Stabler.
Oh, but my guess is it'll be a crossover of the Lindsay Clancy case with Original Recipe and one on the recent plethora of cases of pastors murdering their wives. My goodness, you guys are going to be doing this podcast past me turning 50, and that isn't too far away. Yikes. Until next time, Lily. Gareth says hi. Thank you, Lily and Gareth.
Wait, okay, I didn't follow.
The Lindsay Clancy trial.
Me neither.
Was he gambling a child?
No, no, no, no. Lindsay Clancy killed her husband and also kids?
Oh, I'm thinking... You know what? Sorry. I'm thinking... Wasn't there that... Oh, it was Richard.
That was the Murdoch.
That was the Murdoch. No, okay, the Lindsay Clancy one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Wait, so how many kids... Just the three kids.
Yeah.
What.
three kids, and then she tried to kill herself, but it didn't take.
Right, but it was unsuccessful, and there was the one everyone wanted to acquit for her being mentally incapacitated.
Yeah, because she was abused really badly, I guess.
She was in very bad postpartum, and then I did actually follow this one closer than I thought I did.
A lot of the girlies, the Venn diagram of Court of Thorn and Roses readers and rabid followers of the lindsey clancy case is a circle and i don't really know what i mean by that or or what connection i'm drawing but that is that is what.
I sometimes you're just making an observation.
Sometimes i'm just making an observation but yeah.
There you go no i got actually i'm i'm all caught up okay.
Tonight the jury isn't the only thing that's gonna be hung.
Next email we have is from listener Tony, entitled Theo, shockingly. Tony writes, just found out that Nicolas Cage voiced Superman in Teen Titans Go, and I thought you should know. My head nearly exploded. Theo, Dean.
Dean.
And Nick. Nick.
Does Nick count? Will Nick count?
So did I not, do we not talk about this? Nicolas Cage plays like a pretty pivotal role in this script.
Like the Nicolas Cage.
Right, but knowing that he voiced Teen Titans, so his head has to explode.
It does.
This script is so dead that I can just tell you all what happens, which is.
I don't know. I would still keep this one in your back pocket someday.
Okay.
Well, either way, there is a situation in which there's like a. Legion of doom-esque meeting of all of the actors who have ever played superman and then there's like a second smaller kids table of all of the actors who have voiced superman in animation and they're like upset that they don't get to sit at the big table and so nick cage's is there and he's like extra upset because he was like.
I was gonna play superman in real life.
That's when they canceled it they canceled my movie my son's name's cal l and so he winds up being the the the the member of what we call the just us league of that who like turns and helps our helps our heroes and in the process uh explodes his own head as a sacrifice.
It's such a good fucking idea.
Like sorry everyone.
It really it's so fucking funny there i also like you could do this in an animated.
I i hope so but i also uh i have to add like there like been like three more people that have played superman since i finished the script so i gotta i gotta write parts.
For them whatever they can all just be kind of in the background You could use that as punch-up work. It's like, shut up.
What's his name? The new boy. Shut up, Corn Sweat.
Corn Sweat walks.
In eating a sandwich. He's like, what the fuck happened here?
Yeah, right. And then his head explodes.
Yeah, so I didn't tell you why his head explodes, but it's a very dumb reason. All of their heads are going to explode.
Anyway.
That's all the cabal that's fit to cabal. Afeeb, over to you for the IG and the blue ski. Apparently, we got an IG message just now.
Yeah just now um so from in a segment like i'm.
Just gonna take that back.
In a segment we like to call i just blew myself i'm.
Afraid i just blew myself there's got to be a better way to say.
That fulberto writes in saying madame webb monologue on snl cool Right on.
I know Dakota Johnson.
Hosted last night. I know that they took some shots at Madam Web, but also, she has transcended.
Our boos mean nothing to her. She's seen what makes us cheer.
I mean, she keeps making some interesting choices of the projects she's working on, so you know what? I think she hears the boos and does not care.
Here's my take on Dakota Johnson. I. Don't think she's a very good actor and I don't like seeing her in movies however I love her just like out in the wild persona and so I I don't really condone people being famous just for being famous but like I would I would take Dakota Johnson just like just being around just like being famous and saying shit Meanwhile.
I don't think they pay you to do that, though.
She doesn't need to be paid. She's like a, she's Timmy Hedren's granddaughter.
I mean, right. But, you know, these people, it's like catnip to them, the money.
Yeah, the money.
What if it spoils, Aviv?
That's what the money's for. Also, Leanne is at Verity right now.
She, like, went to the movies.
Is she a Colin Hoover person?
No, she's just, like, morbidly curious about this fucking weirdo. Apparently the story is, like, out of its mind.
Yeah, and what I have heard, Cassie and I were talking about this, but what I have heard is that apparently even, because I guess it's possibly spoiler, maybe it could be apocryphal, I don't know, but apparently Anne Hathaway's character for most of the movie is, like, in a comatose state.
No, she's a quadriplegic.
Is that what it is?
Yeah, Leanne asked if I wanted to see it, and I watched the trailer, and I was like, fucking no.
Yeah, but apparently Anne Hathaway just acts circles around Dakota Johnson.
Yeah, Anne Hathaway's great.
Also, can we let that poor woman sit down? She's got a fucking baby on the way. She's making the Odyssey, this piece of shit. She's out promoting it.
Well, that's what the money's for.
Yeah, I mean, I guess.
I think she's going to disappear for like five years.
That's probably, I hope for her sake, that's what gets to happen. Good Lord. Go sit down, Dan.
Take a rest, Dan. I feel that way about Rob Pattinson, too.
Well, he's got a baby on the way, so again.
There you go.
That's what the money's for.
There you go. And then moving over to the Instagram, Miss Rosemary NYC, a.k.a. Judge Yes Rose, a.k.a. Winnie the Bish, writes in, sends us a meme from Morgan Sung.
Judges Chambers?
I have not seen a judgment.
Oh, okay.
It's just observations.
Okay. Judges observations.
Wasn't sure if she got the gavel or not this time.
All right. She sends us a meme from Morgan's son that just reads, the Stanford prison experiment, but it's run by Nathan Fielder.
Interesting.
Yeah. I've rigged these 12 inmates with. I'd watch it.
Would watch it.
And this.
He comes up to that and he's like, I also don't know what I just witnessed.
I've stared into the abyss. She also sends in a picture of her watching last week's episode and when the rapist guy makes his alibi that he was seeing the new Tom Cruise movie says, well, at least someone other than me saw Digger. Judgment?
Zero desire to see that.
I wanted to see it.
And then I saw the trailer and was like, absolutely not. Under no circumstances will I ever watch this movie. And I guess most people felt the same way.
It's in your E2, right?
It is in your E2. And I really like, you know, Tom Cruise. I like Tom Cruise about all kinds of stuff. I don't think this is it, chief.
Is it a musical?
I don't think so. I know that that was the rumor, but I don't think so. I think it's just insane.
Oh, all right.
Well, great.
Who can say? Any fart.
So tonight, we're going to be viewing and reviewing and lovingly ridiculing Law & Order SVU Season 20, Episode 4, entitled Revenge.
But Aviv, if people wanted to get a hold of us, how can they get a hold of us now that we've closed the mailbag?
Damn i'm all fucked up.
No that's me i'm all fucked up um.
That's all the mailbags.
You've had too much freedom too much freedom you've had take i feel like you're the way i've.
Eaten my chips i've got i have nothing to eat you.
Are an anxiety fear-based person just like all around so if you don't have something that you're doing like you don't know how to just like relax because then you're like you just you lose you're you're losing everything You got nothing to feed. You need that constant pressure to.
Keep you together.
The same water that hardens the egg softens the potato.
Figure that out.
Draw your own conclusions. I am going to leave that long pause because we just both looked at each other like, figure that out.
Right.
Uh, that's all the mailbags fit to mailbag. As always, you can get at us.
We're at, God, we're at SVU podcast on blue sky, Instagram, the official blue sky and Instagram of is Grant Gustin in this episode.
Who is that?
He played the flash.
Oh, I never watched.
Uh, you will explode.
You can take that to the bank, the blood bank Senator. Vlogger, weirder things, or tweet size email, send us an email, specialviewingunitspidermonkeygmail.com. And now, without further ado, on to the main event, where we are going to be viewing and reviewing Season 20, Episode 4 of SVU, entitled Revenge.
Oh boy.
Oof, this is a rough one. Right after this! And we're back! And as we said before the break, we're going to be viewing and reviewing Season 20, Episode 4 of SVU, entitled Revenge. Just a reminder to our listeners, all the episodes are available to watch on Hulu and Peacock for now, I guess. I don't know. Maybe that's never going away. Who knows?
I saw a Peacock commercial for a show called Line of Fire, and it looks absolutely awful. Oh, goody.
Well, this is the nadir of culture, as it turns out. But anyway, if you want to watch this one, don't. But it's available on Hulu and Peacock, so I don't know. If you want to fuck up your day, go.
Ahead and watch it. You can just open your window and look outside.
Yeah, that's actually true, although it's back whenever it was a little, not better, different.
Different.
It was a different... Alternate universe. It was like the difference between... The first strain of COVID and, like, the Omicron, where it's like, it was all bad.
Yeah, we're in Omicron now.
Yeah, it was all bad. None of it was good. It was just a little different. And just a reminder to listeners, if you want to watch Aviv do what we have here, which is the greatest tradition on this podcast, where Aviv is going to hit us with a 90-second recap of what happened in this week's episode, you can go to our Instagram at SVU Podcasts.
Yes? Yep.
On Instagram. Yep. To watch Aviv and the closet that he organized.
The door is closed.
You can't see my fucking closet now, motherfuckers.
But just know that it is very organized in there. But just know that it's so clean. Minus the ring light that is also available in the screen.
Well, that's not.
Shh, don't tell them about the ring light. That's not in the shot.
How is it not in the shot?
I can see it.
Have it on an angle.
How steep of an angle could you possibly have that on?
Well, someone doesn't watch our Instagram.
No, I don't. I don't have Instagram. I don't have any of it. So, Aviv, in the greatest tradition we have, you are going to hit us with the 90-second recap of what happened in this week's episode. Just a reminder to you, Aviv, the time to beat. 205.
205.
So you're trying to do it in less than 205. So, Aviv, we're going to put... able to 90 seconds on the clock why don't you tell us what the fuck happened in this week's episode of svu.
Okay so for the for the audio only listeners this week i'm wearing a shirt with godzilla on it and it reads born to eat hole is a fuck kill them all 1999 i am gyoza man four billion people 410,775,864,530 dead sorcerers. So, do with that what you will. Am I counting this against the time? No, I didn't say that.
I just didn't know. You weren't... Oh, are you timing me?
I'm sitting here with the actual stopwatch here.
Oh, weird.
It would be so weird if I just stalled before.
There's Matt holding his Apple watch up to the microphone somehow.
Okay, you guys. Ann and Rick are watching a killer clown movie.
Not the killer clown movie that stars the guy from last week, but it might star Grant Gustin, the guy who plays the Flash. Anyway, the pizza guy knocks on the door, but he thinks it's Brett with the quarterly reports. The pizza delivery guy is still wearing a motorcycle helmet, comes in, Beats Rick over the head with a gun and then rapes Ann.
Ann is a person I know.
And so he calls Ann Stacy and he calls Rick Chad. And unfortunately, I know what those names mean, but the cops don't. And so I'm way ahead of this shit as they search the building for other people named Chad and Stacy because maybe the rapist raped the wrong person. And they think that Uh, the, the, the Chad that lives in nine D who's married to some other guy, uh, Bri, Brianna, Chad's married to Brianna and Brianna had like an affair with some guy and Chad doesn't know. And as a spin instructor, so it's, it's not this fucking spin instructor.
Turns out that there's a string of rapes and they keep referring to dudes as Chad's and women as Stacy's and well, it's in cells in cells refer to, to, handsome men as chad's and so they they find the the main incel dude whose name is riley or the first incel dude whose name is riley played by ethan slater ex-husband of our ariana grande and uh they.
Were never married i don't think i think.
Well he definitely left his wife for ariana and so he immediately is like yeah yeah yeah i didn't rape the person that you think i raped but i did rape someone else but it wasn't raped because there's no such thing as rape because the constitution entitles me to women's bodies and so that's great and it winds up being like a like a strangers on a rape train situation which i wrote down before stone called out but Riley raped someone for his friend Chris, his online friend Chris, and Chris raped someone for Riley. But this dude named Iron Cross X, oh good, Tony Kelly, raped his own person that wronged him, this woman whose name is Carol.
And so there's no evidence, and it winds up being like a weird Fourth Amendment case because the phone company accidentally gave over tony's gps so like we know it was definitely him but that gets thrown away and so instead they like parade carol in front of tony to get him to crack and admit that he raped her this is not in a court of law by the way this is just in like a room and it turns out that he asked her to prom he like left her a voicemail and she didn't she didn't she didn't call him back and so she's like a fucking bitch and she's like that wasn't even my fucking number you prick and olivia's like dick wolf Yeah.
It's very....
I don't think I made it.
No, you're at 313.
Dang.
312, so, you know, something to shoot for.
Something to shoot myself for.
Yeah, so here was my... The whole thing going through this, I was like, okay, while I'm aware of incels as a general idea... Yeah. And, you know, the resentful guy that can't get a girlfriend type situation, fine.
Correct.
The fact that, okay, this is now, it's more of like, it seems like it's like an organization, as opposed, you know, so.
Yeah, so I think.
They refer to incels as almost like.
The incel, yeah.
Yeah.
Carisi refers to it like a club.
Right.
So a couple things, and I'm not. This is super weird. My friend Matt, Matt Ducey, who has been on the show before.
Yes.
Friend of the podcast.
Friend of the show.
He wrote a screenplay that he and I were going to make called Love Shy about incels and incel culture. But this was in like 2014 or 15 before anyone really knew what incels were. And so we literally had to spend a lot of time explaining who and what incels were to people.
And so.
My knowledge of incels comes from that, like very early incel culture, and also what's happening now. So this episode takes place like basically smack dab in the middle of that, in between those two points. And so I don't really know if it's accurate, but it doesn't feel accurate to me.
So here's the thing. I didn't realize there was.
It's called Love Shy, by the way. You said that.
There you go.
Plug it twice.
There you go. Plug for Love Shy.
A project that doesn't exist.
Did not happen.
So I didn't realize there was like a whole actual... To the point that they're making a primetime network television show about this, that there was some sort of actually overarching... thought process behind like the fact that that fucking spongebob ariana grande guy is like i am constitutionally afforded the right to rape women because it's what makes me happy like i was in my litter my notes so many times like that's this isn't real like that's no way they don't they don't actually but let that is like the ratings of a crazy person that got the wrong sandwich order out of sheets. Like, what are you talking about? Like, I'm constitutionally afforded the right to the correct sandwich because
it makes me happy, and I'm a guy. Like, what are you talking about? That doesn't make any fucking sense at all.
It doesn't make any fucking sense.
And I realize this is, like, it's me trying to make sense of something that there's nothing to be made sense of, but, like, I've never heard it to the extent where they were trying to argue there was, like, a legal basis for this as opposed to just, like... the world isn't the way that I want it to be and I'm angry about it, so I'm going to shout into the void. Like, the fact that, like, I'm picturing someone in law school today being like, well, you know, Chief Justice Roberts, the reason that.
I get to just- They even fucking call out Roberts.
That's what I'm saying.
I don't know that he is serious when he says that thing about the Constitution, but incels do believe that there is no such thing as rape because women don't have autonomy and shouldn't have autonomy because when they are given the choice, they don't choose the incel who is deserving of the woman's attention. And so, yeah, so no, it much like everything else, all this shit is contradictory where it's like women don't, have choice but they choose wrong and i am entitled to sex with women but all women are whores and like anyone who has had sex is like betrays the cause there's like there's like instances of people who are in cells like getting girlfriends and then leaving the cause and everyone else being like,
how dare he betray us? When it's like, that's all that you guys want to fucking do anyway is get laid. What are you talking about?
It's like, how dare he do the thing that we all want to do? And the only reason that we're here is because we don't understand the idea of jealousy.
Yeah, right.
And you mentioned this last week, but it's like the dog that caught the car, right?
No, but like, it seriously like turned my hair white. The Like, hearing this where I was like, wait, like, again, I understand if you're just like, oh, even if you were to, like, thump the Bible to be like.
Well, the Lord said to go... Sure, which a lot of them do. Which a lot of them do.
Sure, which I'm not surprised by that. But, like, at least that's, like, an ideology. It's flawed and shouldn't be followed. But, like, it's something that. It's unfortunately like but it's like to come up with like a try to come up with a cooked up legal reason or like even I okay hold on this is gonna sound really really bad but like I can I can understand the the thought process of people's hate.
Totally.
You know what I'm saying? Where it's like, I can understand.
They feel spurned or whatever.
Right. So it's like, I understand if there is someone who is like a white supremacist is like, I understand that you feel that you are greater than those people that are not white because of here is your, it's, it's not corrected.
It's bullshit.
But at least there's a line of thought there that I can follow. And none of it involves the U S fucking constitution.
Well, but sometimes it does, right? It's just hate is hate.
We want to legislate against, to extend the metaphor, we use the Constitution to legislate against black people, right?
Right, but then we also amended the Constitution to undo a lot of that. So even if you were to make a constitutional argument, there's still a constitutional argument there that we modified the Constitution.
To take into account.
I think you're taking SpongeBob's argument a little too literally. Like, I don't think that he actually expects his lawyer to be like, well, the Constitution says.
No, but his character believes that.
I think his character believes it in a, this is the way things should be.
Correct, but that means if there's people that think that's how it should be, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
In the same way that it's like, oh, now, today, there's a movement in Congress to remove women's right to vote because of this shit.
Exactly, exactly. I think that those two are cut from the same cloth.
Right, but there are people that believe that. like there there's again there there's no structure around this other than i can't fuck because i can't find anyone that wants to fuck.
Me i'm mad about it and i want so so this is a strange it's like a strange push and pull because they they hate women but they want to be wanted by women and they want women to be their jizz receptacles it's weird it's very weird and i don't And also this is like, it's just.
Very teenagers that never grew up.
Yeah.
And it's different than it is now. These days, as far as I understand it, it's the red pill bros who are, who believe similar things, but they want to assert they're unlike incels who are, or the incels in this episode who are like whining about girls, not liking them. the red pill bros these days will, uh, will try to assert their dominance over women by like, you know, working out and, and eating red meat and fucking driving expensive cars and stuff.
And looks maxing. You've heard it. You've heard of looks maxing.
Yes.
We've, we've talked about this in the clavicular guy and all of that.
Yes. And he was just charged with sexual assault. Pull me over with a feather. And, uh, and so I think like, it's not hard to see how these dudes in this episode get like swept up into like, well, if I just do a million setups, girls will like me.
And I mean, I, I.
Can, there is, that is the shortest and straightest.
Of lines that you could possibly draw more that has more internal logic. Cause you're, what you're talking about is like, there's no internal logic to these guys in this episode.
Correct.
And so that has more internal logic.
Right. The problem is that I look nerdy, so therefore if I have enough fucking HGH to look like The Rock, people will fawn over me.
And women have sort of overplayed their hand in the social order, and they belong in the kitchen. They belong taking care of their men because that's the way nature wants it or God wants it or something. Right. So it's definitely connected to Christian nationalism as well and racism and all this other stuff. They didn't really run down this guy, Iron Cross X.
I was like, oh, God.
He got his, yeah, right, whatever he said. I was like, oh, that's, so it's the Nazi that doesn't recycle? Okay.
But I don't think it's.
The Nazi that doesn't recycle because the Nazis are these guys. That's like an absolutely correct assessment.
Well, right, but it's like, but we're not going after him because of the Nazism. We're going after him because.
Of the insult.
That's what I meant by that word, the Nazism. Like, I understand that, but the show is not stopping for a half a second.
To acknowledge this. To be like, hey, what's with that screen name?
Right. Also, looking at the guy, the pale redheadedness of it, I'm like, interesting choice, okay.
He's not Iron Cross X. Iron Cross X is the guy with the very Semitic-looking nose.
Isn't that the same guy at the very end?
The very end is not the red-haired guy. The red-haired guy is SpongeBob.
No, well, doesn't the other guy have red hair, too?
I don't think so.
Oh, I thought he did.
His name is Tony.
No, I know SpongeBob has the red hair. Yes, I'm referring to the, I guess, as you said it, not my words, the very, quote, Semitic-looking one.
Yeah, yeah, big, big, big nose.
Tony Kelly.
Very, very interesting.
Anyway.
Um, I also, it's just, again, so I, I don't know, like we've talked about incels on this show.
Before and how we love them and, and agree with everything.
That we're very pro incel type of type of gang here, but no, like, but it's never, this is different.
Yeah. It's, you know, it's super gross for a number of reasons, but we open on a killer clown. And he's murdering a young couple. It's like a slasher movie.
Which I was very interested in, actually. I wanted to see more of this movie.
But also, from the trivia, it doesn't seem like this is a real movie. It seems like it was made for the show.
I assumed it was, because looking at it, I'm like, no, this doesn't look real. But wouldn't that be something fun to do if you were the person that's like, hey, you get to make a fake movie?
A fake movie, yeah.
Yeah. So it seems like it was a fake movie for the show. And I could have sworn that the dude getting killed was Grant Gustin, the guy that plays the Flash on the CW show. But, you know.
Everybody out of the tunnel.
Ann Whitman and Rick Karsh are in bed, couch.
Question mark?
Bed.
It seems like they've just boned.
No, I think they are about to. I think they are the lead up to.
Yeah, they're getting a little spicy. And it seems like they work together because there's a knock on the door. And Rick's like, that better be the quarterly report. But Brett shouldn't deliver it because he's away. And John is having sex with Joe. And I'm like, shut the fuck up, Rick. Rick, shut up.
Meanwhile, this scene is being intercut between the fake movie that's going on and him going down the hallway, so we're clearly mirroring each other. It's actually kind of fun.
Yeah, I think it's pretty... I think that the show is competently made. It's just infuriating.
Correct, yeah. It's technically competent.
So this guy comes in. It's a pizza delivery guy. He's wearing his motorcycle helmet and... rick's like i didn't order a pizza and he's like shut up chad hits him in the head with a gun and then rapes ann.
Yeah and the way they they cut it back and forth where it's like the killer is coming in to to stab the girl and then he's coming up and then it's like it's it's a little.
Gross so let's talk did you know about the the term chad's Uh, no. Okay.
I mean, certainly not in this context.
In this context.
I've heard of chads being basically referred to as, like, kind of bros?
Bros. Yeah. So.
I didn't realize.
There was a crossover with this community.
There is, but I.
That it's just bro culture, because it's like, you know how many.
People are not bros? I think that they get it wrong.
Yeah.
I think that they do it incorrectly, at least the way that it has evolved. Once again, this was, like, eight years ago, so... They might be right on the language, but these days, a Chad is something to aspire to.
You want to become a Chad.
But I thought you said that those that leave the cult are.
Yeah, but Chads are muscular and popular and....
Oh, so they've changed their ideology to, if you can't beat them, join them.
Kind of, yeah. I think so.
So rather than resent the Chad, you must become the Chad.
You must become the Chad. And the ultimate Chad is the Giga Chad. Have you heard of a Giga Chad?
Clearly not. You know I've never heard of a Giga Chad.
I know it.
You know it.
Vegetable lasagna. So Giga Chad is a meme. I just sent you the Giga Chad meme. It's just like an impossibly strong jawline.
Okay.
Great. So, I mean, we might as well talk about it here because.
He's got too long of a neck.
It is absolutely photoshopped.
Well, you don't... fucking say.
Oh, this isn't real? I do say. He looks like handsome Squidward. But, okay, so I was curious about... This isn't even photoshopped.
This is fucking straight AI. This is unsettling.
It's not AI because it existed before... GigaChad meme was before AI. Okay. Yeah. But, but, but I was curious as to where this Chad bro association came from because the earliest Chad bro association that I knew of was Chad bro chill from the Derek comedy sketch called bro rape.
Oh my God.
Yeah. So I was like, with Donald Glover himself and Bobby Moynihan. But I was like, did Donald Glover give us the term Chad? And it turns out no. In the 2000s, so bro was 2006. But in the early 2000s, it was a Chicago slang, a derogatory description for like a bro.
Yeah.
And now that has morphed into....
Like an alpha male. An alpha male or a sexually successful male is a Chad.
A sexually successful. Now, here's the thing. Is that in terms of quantity or quality?
Definitely quantity. There's no such thing as quality for these people.
I'm just saying.
Yeah.
But, as you said, now that the.
But if you achieve Chad's status, like, since you are the ultimate of everything, wouldn't it also mean that it would be both?
Oh, yeah, well, you have to only fuck tens or whatever.
Right, exactly.
So.
Super Chad. As you mentioned... Extra Chad.
The incels in the incel forum referred to Chad's as sexually active and supposedly genetically superior alpha males. And then the manosphere, which is like the sort of other side of that, is like, yeah, yeah, yeah. So you can become a Chad and you can work out and look smacks and all this other stuff.
So the manosphere, it's just the general online misogyny?
Yep.
Okay. And the incel is the highly concentrated, the most toxic of them, concentrated at the top of this pyramid?
I think manosphere is like, what gets sold to incels to be like, you can become a Chad one day. So.
Okay.
Here's the thing. I don't want, like, I, I know all of these things, but don't know them in terms of like, I understand, like when I hear them, I understand the general thing, but like having to understand the actual, whatever we're saying, the quote unquote, though, the manosphere exploded with this. It's like, is I just took that. It's like, just like super shitty fucking like reddit forums.
Let's let's let's talk we'll do the evolution of man of these of these fucking guys so we start like a dave barry book yeah so we start with the incels right who are the absolute nerds and who are anti-feminist and they dehumanize women and they're misogynist they're like they're like sort of loudly and happily misogynist and homophobic and all this other stuff.
And they, and they loathe them. They like, they like hate themselves.
Okay. And then they morph. So like second order Pokemon, they evolve into pickup artists. So you remember the pickup artist culture, right? I do. And that's basically like, let's trick women into having sex with us by, by making their self-esteem lower. And then that evolves into, well, do that but also look good and and have muscles and become a chad who who still degrades women and still thinks that women aren't people but you like look handsome now and so that's like how you can get laid and and at the top of that pyramid now are like you know people like joe rogan and uh I don't know. Who are these?
I don't even fucking know who these people are.
Anyone that uses the phrase masculine too much.
Red pill dudes.
And so there are some famous incels, including Elliot Rodger, who they mention not by name in the show, but he... Oh, no. Elliot Rodger they've mentioned in the show, but they mention some guy... from Toronto. Um, and that guy's name is Alex Manassian. And he like drove a car into like a group of people.
That makes him a hero.
Why?
He's a hero.
Cause he was a person who was, uh, sexless and responded violently. Um, and, uh, refer to it as either an incel rebellion or a beta male uprising. And so, like, he's like their fucking Rosa Parks or something.
So, literally, so their whole, the whole thing is basically, if we don't get laid, we will just destroy the, we will just kill everyone?
Yep. Wow. I, wow.
These people are really children. Like, they literally are fucking five-year-olds in grown people's bodies.
Yeah, and we can go deeply into, like... That is.
The most I'm-taking-my-ball-and-going-home thing I've ever heard.
So, any fart, that's a Chad, and the female counterpart to a Chad is... either a Stacy or a Trixie. Trixie is the Chicago slang. The manosphere refers to a female counterpart of a Chad as a Stacy. There's also apparently a, uh, before giga Chad, there was, uh, a, a term Chad Thundercock. Chad Thundercock, uh, is gainfully employed, athletic, sexually active, and well-endowed. And that evolved into the giga Chad, which, um, Giga Chad meme came online in 2016. The ultimate alpha male who can never be wrong.
Wow. You think if they spent half as much time not doing this and actually, I don't know, becoming better people or going to therapy or something like that, that perhaps they would.
No.
Because all that stuff is too feminine. Is that what it is? It's the real Principal Skinner meme of like, it's the children who are wrong.
Yeah.
Gotcha. And stoicism is huge in the manosphere of, like, I can't show any emotion at all.
I just have to, like, take shit.
I don't know.
It's very dumb. Everything is stupid. Don't do this.
And these are the people running the country now.
Oh, yeah. Definite manosphere piece of shit, Pete Hegseth. And all of them, honestly. All of them.
Yeah, I was going to say, it's all of them, though.
But.
The cops come and they don't know any of this Chad stuff. And so they're like, did the, did the guy just get the wrong apartment?
Yeah. And they're like, okay, well, I guess let's try, let's try this again. I was unfamiliar.
With, Oh, I was super ahead of the episode.
And so I got frustrated.
So I, I was just almost the cops as they were going through this. So they go and they're like, uh, down.
To the security. They talked to the, um, the like doorman, doorman, doorman.
Yeah.
And the doorman is basically like, look, man, I went to go pee. I guess the guy got in some other way. And they're like, look, man, you're about to lose your job because someone waltzed by you and got attacked and raped on your watch. Like, you're not going to have this job, so you might as well just help us. I'm like, I mean, that's an interesting tact to take if you're the cops, but I'd be like, well, if that's the case, then fuck you. Just walk out.
I'd be like, you know what? You figure it out then. The, um.
They also ask if there's anyone in the building named Chad and Stacy, and he's like, no.
And then they pull up the registry.
They find a Chad. He's like, you lied to us. He's like, well, you asked for Chad and Stacy. This Chad's wife is Brianna. Okay, dude. Semantics.
You know, language matters. So they cook up the idea that perhaps the guy was an idiot and just went to the wrong apartment. And I'm like, I find that very hard to believe, but okay.
I also, and so Chad and Brianna are in 9D, and Anne and Rick are in 11D. And so 9-11, never forget. And so they interview Chad and Brianna, and Brianna's like, women don't ever get over this, do they? And Olivia's like, basically no.
But they can get past it. I'm like, that's not encouraging.
And so they ask Chad if there's anyone that doesn't like him. And he's like, I'm a dentist. Everyone hates me.
Which I thought was maybe going to be your pull quote. It was pretty funny.
Yeah. Olivia gives Brianna. Olivia can tell that Brianna wants to say something. And so she just like gives brianna her card which she doesn't use she just brianna just comes into svu but sure well.
I guess it's got the address on there so she just comes in i guess i also find it very funny that okay so they're like what happened is it was a it was a pizza guy with the motorcycle helmet on they said that they didn't order a pizza but But they still keep looking around for a pizza guy. I'm like, guys, the guy said that he kept fucking, like, riot tags, like those fucking zip-tied handcuffs.
Oh, yeah, he, like, zip-tied Anne's wrists.
Like, I don't think he's actually a pizza guy. I think it's just a front. And they're like, oh, man, Liv, we struck out in all the pizza places. I'm like, you idiots were actually looking for pizza delivery guys that you thought did this?
You can guess what happens next. He fixes the cable.
He fixes the cable, yeah, exactly.
But he also, we don't really have any info on this guy other than he's a short king.
He's 5'6.
And he left his, the motorcycle helmet stays on during sex, princess.
Nope.
That's like an incel voice.
Oh, oh, okay.
I was like, I got nothing for you on that. What the hell was that?
The motorcycle helmet stays on during sex, princess.
But you're doing it the same voice. You're like, bye, talk.
Yeah.
Well, because these people are children. I mean, they are children, but it's weird.
Somehow that voice was too much.
The....
I mean, Rollins comes in.
Bye, Chad.
So, they.
Rollins comes into the SVU holding a cup of coffee.
You're pregnant. You shouldn't be drinking coffee.
And.
It could be decaf.
You don't know. Immediately, Brianna, like, asks for Olivia Benson and... Shows up and is like, you knew I'd come, didn't you? Which was also almost my full quote. Because, you know, her husband doesn't know. Chad doesn't know. But a few years ago, she had an affair with this dude, Jake, who's a spin instructor.
And she broke it off. And he was, like, pissed. And so, like, maybe it was Jake.
And he's got a gun.
And he's got a gun.
If you can even believe it.
Oh, this fucking gun thing is so weird.
I know, right?
They go to track down Jake. He is coming back from a bike ride.
Oh, he's about to get on his bike. I'm presuming he's coming from teaching spin class.
To go home on his bike?
You ride your bike to work, and then bike for work, and then you ride your bike back?
Yeah.
Cool it down.
Oh, okay.
They think he can get away.
He runs.
He runs, well, he bikes, and he's a spin instructor, so he's definitely going to outrun those cops on that bike. But, like, why does he run? I mean, he's a black man, so that's why he runs. But they're like, hey, Jake, can we talk to you for a second? And he just fucking bolts for the reason that he's got a loose gun in his chrome messenger bag.
I mean to say loose i think it's like he he has a gun on him that as it turns out it's registered but he doesn't have a carry permit for but you know the quickest way to get them to search you is to run.
Like is to run just how about you.
Just talk to them because then they don't really if you they have no reason to search.
You until you run they just they just well he's black but um they also just like needed a chase scene at this point yeah Um, but okay.
So they're like, he also doesn't take.
Any advantage of him being on a bike to like get up on the sidewalk or no, no, just straight down the street.
They're like, you idiot. You raped the person in the wrong apartment. He's like, fucking what? And they're like, whatever happened to sound mind, sound body. You, you're crazy. And he's like, I, what? I dressed like a pizza man. None of this makes any fucking sense. I was teaching a spin class.
Well, he doesn't even say that. They're like really sweating him hard. And then we cut to outside where Liv is watching the interrogation and Finn comes in. He's like, bad news. We have video of him actually during whatever this rape happened. So he absolutely did do it. And Liv is like, doesn't immediately knock to be like, let him go. I guess maybe because of the gun charge.
Because they say he doesn't have a carry permit.
Yeah, I don't know. But like now you're just.
Harassing people for no fucking reason.
There's also another rape. So.
it's the same exact situation. This time it's Paolo and his partner, Beth. And they called Paolo Chad. They called Beth Stacy. And so they talked to Paolo and they're like, do you know any, do you know any Chad's? He's like, I went to public school. What the fuck does that mean? Yes. No, I'm a waiter in the East village. I know 10,000 Chad's.
What are you, what the fuck are you talking about?
I mean, I feel like Chad is a common name amongst our generation.
I suppose so, but I went to public school as a real, I live in a residential neighborhood.
I mean, how many Chads did you know?
Fucking two.
Well, there you go. So yes, that answers the question.
I live in a residential neighborhood. One, two, three, four, five.
But they do it so dramatically where like, fuck it, when Finn comes out, he's like, Liv, We got another Chad. She's like, and another Stacey.
It's like, oh my God. So they talk to Beth, who's the other Stacey. And she's like, yeah, he was short king. He was like 5'6. And he pulled my hair. And he raped me. Like, it really, really sucked. And Olivia's at one point like, you know what? Let's get you to the hospital.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We don't have to do this now. Why don't you just go fuck off?
And so.
At this point, they're like, man, we are fucked on this Chad thing. Because in New York City, at any given point, there's like 10 million Chad, dudes named Chad. And this is where Carisi saves the day and is like, I looked on the dark web and turns out.
Yeah, you know, because sometimes I just like Googling shit on the dark web.
You know what? He's got crazy memberships to things. We've established this.
He's got a large Bitcoin contingency that he's using for all of this.
I guarantee you we're going to have a crazy NFT subplot at some point.
Oh, for fuck's sake, I certainly hope not.
But we learn now that it is.
Don't worry. I'm going to help support you and your five children with this NFT. Oh, no. The market for NFTs has crashed. I'm ruined.
I'm ruined.
Ruined.
Good thing I'm an ADA and I'll just sue everybody.
That ought to do it.
So we learn that a Chad is like a bro and a Stacey is any woman that an incel wants but can't get, which is like, if I were an incel, not technically.
Isn't that literally all of them by definition?
Not technically because, once again, this is like a FIBA file territory, but a Stacey is specifically like the pretty girl Who should be with me, but instead goes with a Chad has, has rejected me in exchange for dating a Chad. You can't have a Stacy without a Chad.
So really a Chad is defined by his Stacy.
Every, every thug needs a lady.
But that's what it sounds like. It's like you cannot be a Chad unless you have a Stacey.
No, vice versa. You can't be a Stacey without a Chad.
Is that what it is?
Wouldn't it be the other way around?
Because women are defined by the men in their lives.
But the women are the ones that make the choice to date the people. Because if not, they would all then be Chads if they chose to date her.
And the choice is what makes them a Stacey. It's symbiotic.
Right, right, right. Okay. Like a Machiavelli.
So, they.
I'm not that hungry.
I just want the one mahi. It's fine.
I'm good. And Finn can't... This is where they mention the guy in Toronto. But Finn can't quite understand why incels exist. He's like, no one has to be involuntarily celibate. Hookers exist. That's why God invented hookers. The people I used to arrest.
I was about to be like, question here in the back, but you've also made prostitution illegal as a society. So that's not even really necessarily not a legal one, at least.
Well, the rape is also not legal, Matt. I don't care what they say on your message board.
Look, his Republican mind nonsense is like, if we just created a regulated market for this, then this would just solve the problem.
It's always blowjob economy. You know what, man?
It's shocking how much the blowjob economy actually would solve a lot of these problems.
Truly.
And so... The problem.
Is that economy is not sustainable. It's too unstable.
House of cards.
Yeah, it really... It exists only to defraud everyone that involves themselves in the blowjob economy.
House of dynamite. Yeah. So the incels believe that a woman should want to please any man that she meets and that the opposite of a Chad who is... also known as an alpha, though they don't say it in this episode, is an omega. And that's a secondary term. We don't really call them omegas. We call them betas. We.
The culture.
Yeah, wait, it was too Jesus-y? The whole I am the alpha and the omega shit?
I suppose so.
He mentions omega, and this is like hitting you overhead with a frying pan.
Rollins is like, The last letter of the Greek alphabet?
I know, that's for the.
Thank you, Rollins.
For the idiots in the.
Back, yes. But they talk to Sarah... Sorry, they talk to Anne, played by Sarah Rich. Every time she showed up on screen, I was like, hi, Sarah. They talk to Anne, who does not know anyone, didn't reject anybody. She and Rick were dating in secret, and she's like, I don't know.
I didn't, whatever.
And then they talked to Beth, and Beth's like, oh, we went to a swingers club. So I rejected a ton of dudes.
And there was a guy that kept trying to be like, hey, can you say that I'm with you so I can come into this club and also fuck people? And she's like, no.
What?
Get the fuck out of here.
Her sex club is called Tudor Mansion, and she refers to it as a millennial party increase.
She's like, sex club.
Yeah, so they talked to a guy who was walking his little dog in an ascot down on the High Line. It's fucking fantastic.
Did you catch this guy's name?
I didn't, no.
So, I heard Tate Raipman.
Oh, no!
Oh, I hope that was a placeholder.
It was Tate Brightman.
Okay.
Yeah. I can see why you would think that, though.
Played by Kyle Decker and... my God, he's got J.D. Vance eyeliner on. Oh, yeah.
He's wearing, like, a plaid.
Blazer and, like, cream-colored pants and walking a poodle.
Yeah, and he's like, yeah, so I vet all of these people.
Oh, client.
And Finn's like, so basically it's just rich people.
He's like, there are thousands of people that try to get into my weird sex party.
And I would let in 200. I reject everyone. They're like, All right, well, do they do drugs? Never. It's like, great, we're going to just bust it for drugs. He's like, fine, what are you looking for?
And so the guy, Beth said, referred to himself as Riley, and that Riley also kept following her around. That she saw him at the Dunkin' Donuts and then on the train, and he's a guy with red curly hair.
Red bearded man. And so... Turns out... Turns out it's fucking.
Riley Porter, which I was afraid last week was a Noah Porter Benson reference.
As it turns out, nope, not at all.
Just the last name that they like. But it's Ethan Slater from Wicked and SpongeBob the Musical. And I think he and Ariana were married.
I don't think they were married. I thought they were just together. Maybe they did get married.
I think you're right. I think you're right. I think you're right.
Again, I know he blew up his marriage for this.
He blew up his marriage for Ariana.
Like a fucking idiot.
She dropped him like a fucking, like the black scent she was using. Yeah.
Yeah.
So he's, I mean, like, honestly, he's a little bit musical theater. He's a little bit too musical theater to be an actual incel, but like they're, they're, they're, they're good.
They're, they're hearts in the right place. Yeah.
And this is where he starts going off about his constitutional right to be able to just have sex with whoever he wants. And that's where I was like, that's not an actual thing that these people believe, is it? This isn't something we're putting on.
No, I don't... I think that they think that that's the way the Constitution should be. But they get in good with him first because he says he was working late that night and.
As a data analyst or whatever.
Data scientist or whatever. And he's like, oh, my cousin does that, but she usually works during the day. They give all the good shifts to the bitches, don't they? And he's like, you're right, officer.
Yeah, and Carisi starts jumping in as well. Like, yeah, they should just not be able to say no to sex with you. Isn't that right? He's like, you're goddamn right. It's my right as an American.
This is where he says, our boss, her name's Olivia. She's got buffalo nuts. And we cut out to Olivia saying, Watching this go down from, like, the two-way mirror. And she's like, ha, ha, ha, ha. Very nice.
Yes. Ensnare him in this web. Go for it.
But we have another.
Rape.
Another rape.
Yeah.
And this time it's escalated and the doer shot the boyfriend. So we know that it's either not Ethan Slater or there's more than one.
Yeah. So we go to the hospital.
Hospital.
Yes.
So this guy's name is John and his wife's name or fiancé' s name is Carol. And my man John got shot bad. Got shot bad.
He got shot in the head, but he's not dead yet. And we come to find out only four minutes from now that, in fact, he did die during the whatever he got shot in.
The head just make him dead like bullet removal from his brain operation right like what's.
What's the point of this layoff between.
I don't know but they asked they asked john's dad if anyone disliked john and john's dad said john's on the fast track you don't get to be like that without making some enemies dude what.
Yeah what does that what does that even mean So yes, your answer is yes. There is someone that would probably want to do him harm.
Yeah, but this is weird.
I have a question about what's happening now. So they talked to, they talked to Carol and Carol remembers that he called her by her name. He didn't call her Stacy. He called her Carol and he called John John and he was like five, nine, five, 10. Um, But he said that his friend would have enjoyed it. His friend Riley would have enjoyed it, but he's got to do it himself. So we find out later that that's Tony.
That's Iron Cross X. And he had a vendetta, a personal vendetta against Carol.
So in this moment, is he saying... Oh, Riley was supposed.
To do it, but I told him I had to do it because this is too good of revenge for me.
I don't know if it was supposed to be that or it's because Riley got arrested so he had to take over.
So that's what I thought happened. But if he was so hell-bent on getting revenge and finally... I think raping this Carol girl, like why would he allow Riley to do it in the first place?
I feel like it also is a, it would be the ultimate, it would be the ultimate revenge for Riley if he were the one to do it. But obviously for the alibi purposes, he cannot. So it happens that this person, in addition to having done Riley wrong in whatever capacity that he can come up with that, That it turns out that Iron Cross also has a previous relationship with this person?
I don't, but I don't think, I don't think Carol did Riley wrong in any way because the whole point we find out.
Well, of course she did, but the perception is from.
No, I don't think, I don't think that they ever met. I don't think that, because the whole, the whole plot, which we find out literally in the next scene is like, they're doing each other's rapes. They're like trading rapes with each other so that they could have alibis, which is the plot of Strangers on a Train.
Right.
And then that's what Stone says.
Right, but since we know that Riley did rape someone, it was just.
So it was that Riley and the second guy, Chris.
Well, there's three guys all day.
Yeah, Riley and Chris switched rapes, and then maybe Riley was supposed to rape Carol, or maybe they had considered letting Riley rape Carol.
But Tony... Two of the rapes have already happened. Yes. Well, all three of them have already happened.
At the time of the third one when the correct name is used.
Yeah.
It's a little muddy, to say the least.
I think the only thing that I can't really think, I mean, and it's, is that he said that because, I don't know what, I don't know what the link between Riley and this girl was.
I think that there is no link.
But it doesn't make any sense then.
There has to be.
I agree. We must have missed it then.
Nope.
I didn't miss shit.
Here's the thing. I, that's the only way it fits. So that's what we're going with. Yeah.
So, um, they get a warrant for Riley's computer. All they really needed was Carol to say the name Riley, right. To get a, to have enough to get a warrant for Riley's computer. And then they discover that they, that there was this sort of like strangers on a train ask plot. And, um, they are all, That Riley was a member of an incel message board and his, oh boy, his screen name was Phallus Power.
Boy.
These dudes are so, so gay.
Right?
Just be gay.
That's fine.
Just be gay.
It's fine. Being gay is like dope as fuck. Right? If you're not raping people and murdering people.
I guarantee you guys could all just fuck each other and you'd probably be much happier. truthfully like i'm not that's like genuinely like you guys if all let's.
Be real that's what women are doing because the men are unfuckable now so you know so there you go but uh they they they carisi finds riley on the message board and and in person is like we found you and you're talking to this guy named hateful one about like raping each other's girls that you want you wanted to rape yourself.
And he's like okay well this is who this.
Guy is yeah he's like oh i'm gonna he well.
They do have rollins in the room too to really come in and rattle.
Him yeah he's standing strong and then rollins like cooks the fuck out of him she's like we're gonna it's it's just a race to see who admits it first motherfucker do you know what the difference is between concurrent and consecutive life sentences is it's.
Either we own your ass or we own your ass forever.
And he's like uh his name is chris carnassus.
Uh i can give you his address if you would.
Like he works at a whole foods in riverside yeah so they go to uh They have the third guy, too, Iron Cross X, but Riley doesn't know who that guy is.
Yes, they don't have an actual name for him. They just have the handle.
And, oh good, Iron Cross X. So this guy is definitely also a Nazi.
Uh-huh. So they go to this big palatial estate in Rivers?
Riverside?
Riverdale?
Yeah.
River something?
It's a hoity-toity giant house, and some old money-looking woman answers the door, and Liv and Finn are like, is your son home? And the nerdiest guy you could ever picture comes around the corner. They're like, yeah, you're under fucking arrest.
So Linda Karnasas is played by Donna Del Bueno, who you might recognize from not being Carol Burnett.
Yeah, I definitely was like, we've already had Carol Burnett on this show. We're not doing that again.
And then Chris Karnasas is played by a guy named Will Dagger, which is.
A dope name.
Yeah, that is a pretty good one.
Who is, his most recent credit is Man at the Movie Theater in The Bride, a movie where Frankenstein gets a blowjob.
There you go.
There you go. So, but he's, yeah, he's like classic fucking nerd dude. And he is like, Mom, your soup's getting cold.
Oh, no, police.
Ah, the police. This fucking nerd. This fucking nerd. But he lawyers up quickly, because of course he does.
Yes, he's a smart man.
Because he's smart. And so they're like, okay.
Oh, wait, hold on.
This guy, he's got a nickname. I don't know, but he's known as the you want to do what guy, because whenever they go in there, Stone is like, we're going to charge you. He's like, you want to do what? You want to charge my client with what? Very funny joke, I thought.
His character name is Dave Arnold, and he's played by Louis Mastillo, or Mastillo, I don't know. And this man is the most Chicago... His name should be Chicago Dave.
It's pretty funny. I enjoy this character. Also, before they go into the interrogation room, Liv says something to Stone about the fact that it's like, oh, they look like they have a lot of money. And Liv is like, does that matter?
They hired Chicago Dave.
And Stone's like, ah, it might.
Okay.
So they basically squeeze this guy.
Do you think he loves his mother? Yeah.
So they squeeze this kid basically to give up all the information he has by threatening him with a RICO statute that allows them to like confiscate his mom's home unless he cooperates.
Stone says he's got a moving truck waiting outside of the house right now, which is a lie.
He's like, ah, yes, the state allows me to confiscate everything and investigate later. I'm like, I sure hope that's not true.
I'm sure it is true.
Yeah. But Chicago Dave's like, there's been no charges in that regard. That's his quote.
Let's get some sausages here. Chicago, go Bears.
But Chris is doing his best David Dasmalchian from The Dark Knight until Stone's like, oh yeah, your mom's going to be homeless because you raped two women. And he just screams, damn bitches are lying.
And that was the breaking point.
Yeah, the omegas are rising, we're going to get what we're owed, a revolution by men who have nothing to lose.
Hoo boy.
I mean, here's the thing.
You clearly do have stuff to lose, my guy.
That's what I was going to say. It's like, you guys think you have nothing to lose, but you clearly have plenty to lose because this quote-unquote revolution hasn't happened yet because you guys realize you have quite a bit to lose.
Yeah.
Like the ability to get laid, which is just what you want anyway.
So, like.
unfortunately Stone's jaw is so square and he's like leaning back in his chair so calmly that I'm like, the name's Thundercock, Chad Thundercock. But, but he, he gives up the, he gives, gives up his, his buddy, uh, iron cross X. Who's this guy named Tony Kelly. And they pick up Tony Kelly at the.
But he also says it like, it's not going to matter. You won't be able to touch him. You'll never be able to fight.
He's too smart for you. Yeah. He's an idea. With any luck, he's got the grail already.
Hello.
Does anybody understand English? But that's basically, they pick up Tony Kelly in the library of his college where he's studying literature. We learn it's actually poetry.
He's doing a graduate program in poetry.
Cool.
And he has a woman lawyer, which I think.
Callie Thorne.
Yeah, Callie Thorne. But I think that these dudes would never do... unless it was like some sort of ruse, they would never like listen to a lawyer.
And you know what? He doesn't.
I mean, to be fair, but I think it's also my guess. Cause I think she's supposed to be like one of the, like the fancier defense attorneys.
She is a fancy defense.
Yeah. So it's like, she's going to take this case pro bono. And it's like, Oh look, I can help you.
I get it. I get it. But I don't know that. I don't know.
He's like the only way to beat these, Stacey's and Chad's is to employ a Stacey.
Or a Chad. So, like.
Right.
Stone, what are you doing?
Yeah, like, fight fire with fire. Send the Stacey after... I don't know. Maybe something like that?
So, Cally Thorne is, like... He's young. He's handsome. No, he's not. And he... He's fine. And he studies literature. I'd go out with him if my husband would get out of town every once in a while.
And they're like, what are we doing here? Like, what are you... Does he know? Like, I don't understand. So what's your... That has nothing to do with.
What's your plan?
What are you talking about? This has nothing to do with anything.
I don't even they they like basically have to let him go or like they they're like they're holding him before a rainman or charging charging him or whatever and so they they they think you know i bet he's a mama's boy this this type of stuff doesn't come out of nowhere well no so like let's talk to his mom.
Don't we get first this is where they're they're talking to him and they're like okay well we've got the testimony of his uh conspirators or whatever, and we find.
Out that they can't use.
That unless they have any other corroborating evidence, because if that's all you have, I guess, for a conspiracy, it's like, that's not really evidence.
They've tossed his cell phone and found out that his GPS pinged him at Carol's apartment raping her at the time, which is like, dope. Bring your cell phone to the rape.
Yeah, why wouldn't you? And it turns out there was a Supreme Court case, basically, that says you can't Fucking do that, I guess.
And Callie Thorne's like, I look forward to seeing your warrant, and everyone just freezes.
And it turns out they then find out, we get some exposition dump dialogue where it's like.
This is one of my favorite fucking lines, because it's proof that these guys are a bunch of fucking morons.
Yeah, because Thorne's like, whenever I send out a memo to all of the cops saying there's been a change in the law, do you read these? And Grease is like, yeah, we read it.
We skimmed it.
And then Carissa's like, I should have known better. It's like, no, you all should know, regardless of your capacity.
You should all know this.
But there's this sort of, like, cock and bull story of, like, well, they asked for the phone records from AT & T, and the company sent the GPS records, like, also without being asked. And so, like, what, are they not supposed to use the GPS records?
And so it's like.
Yes, you are supposed to not use them. Also, if AT & T is supposed to ask for a warrant for this information and they're just mistakenly throwing it around, some tells me they are quote unquote mistakenly throwing around this information quite frequently without a fucking warrant. So like, yeah, I mean, shouldn't shouldn't we be more concerned with AT & T' s practices?
No, that's fine. Everything's fine.
Why would we regulate them? The cops should also be held to the standard that they shouldn't be able to use that, but you should be more concerned about the fact that AT & T just gave up this information as we just established you need a warrant for it. They're just giving it out for free.
Giving it out willy-nilly. Does no one.
Say that's the bigger problem in this episode?
No?
Okay.
They don't because Olivia convinces Stone to take this to the judge to be like, yeah, but like, I know the Supreme Court said we can't do this, but, like, can we really just do this?
And we carve out, like, a narrow exception to this rule based off of, you know... circumstances that'll benefit me specifically in my case.
No. The judge is like, no. Judge Goldfarb is like, fucking no.
Leave. Leave here, please.
So this is where they're like, all right, we got to come up with more evidence because Stone also tries to be like, inevitable discovery. We would have found this eventually. And they're like, no. The judge is like, that's not.
And Carol's really pissed. Carol's like, what you said, like the other two dudes who didn't rape me, they're in jail for 10 and 12 years. Like, this guy's going to walk free. This isn't fair. And her dad, not her dad, John's dad is like, it's the law, Carol. Why would you expect it to be fair? First of all, I understand your son's dead. don't fucking do that don't do that to her she got raped yeah.
I mean you're yeah you're you're all in this look everyone's having a shitty day today all right let's you don't have to start taking that on one another all right support.
I also am expecting him to go execute this guy After saying that.
That is always a viable option on this show, because honestly, it is such a fucking deus ex machina ending that is also believable at this point in time.
Because mob justice is the only justice that works these days.
It seems that way, unfortunately.
But this is where Carisi's like, man, I should have known not to use the GPS. And Olivia's like, Carisi, you're a cop, not a lawyer.
And I want to be like, pause, pause.
Even if you are the law enforcement, you are supposed to enforce the law, not make it. You still need to know the law in order to enforce it, asshole.
I 100% agree.
Or else you're just pulling people off the streets on question marks, which is what they're doing.
Right.
But this is where Finn is like, they didn't just wake up and decide that women were the enemy. I bet you this guy's a fucking mama's boy. Let's go talk to his mom. So they talk to his mom. Mrs.
Ms.
Kelly. And she's like, I'm not what you would call a hugger or a good mom. He also didn't have a dad and he didn't speak for about five years there.
Anyway, here's my fifth Tom Collins of the day. May I offer you detectives something to drink?
But this, this winds up panning out because they ask if she has heard of anyone named Carol Solomon and And she's like, Oh yeah, Carol Solomon.
Tom took her to prom.
And he wouldn't shut the fuck up about her.
Like the only thing he said for four years of high school was about Carol. And now he's like doing all this poetry. You want to read his poems? They're all about fucking Carol.
And I told him grad school for poetry, get a job.
So they look, they take a look at, at, uh, at Tony's prom picture. And it's just him without a date, which is, you know, a little funny.
Yeah. Cause Liv showed it to Stone and Stone's like, I don't, what am I looking at?
Where's Carol?
And Liv's like, Carol's not there. He didn't take her to prom. It's like, I, okay, go. Where are you going with this detective? It's like, We've hatched a scheme to basically scar this Carol woman for the rest of.
Her fucking days. Oh my god, so, right.
So this is where they get, speaking of deus ex machina, this is where they get it into their heads that he wanted Carol to know it was him. That there's a reason that he didn't call Carol Stacey and there's a reason that he didn't call John Chadd. And it's because he wanted Carol to know it was him, which is a little bit contradictory to what they were talking about earlier.
He wanted her to know it was him, which is why he kept the motorcycle helmet on the whole time. What the fuck are you talking about? So... Doesn't that indicate the opposite? Also, one of the other things I forgot to mention is whenever the wife of the first Chad guy is like, oh, I had that affair. I think it's this guy. It's like, but... But your name's not Stacey. So the whole thing doesn't make any sense.
They look at the evidence and then they act completely contrary to it.
It's just to pad the time. Same with this Fourth Amendment thing. Just to pad the time because who the fuck cares? We all know that it's Chad Bro Chill. So they put Tony and his lawyer in a room. And they're like, please just admit that you did it. And he's like, fuck you, pig. And his lawyer's like, fuck what my client said. Fuck you, pig. And they're like, okay, send in Carol. And Carol walks in crying already because Jesus Christ.
Do you think they didn't tell her this is what was going to happen? I think that she seems completely blindsided by all of this.
They usually have the scene where they're like, Carol, we're going to need you to do something very brave right now.
I think they just sprung it on her.
I think you might be right. But they're like, okay, Carol, remind him of all the good times you had together.
And she's like, who are you?
I don't know. I've never met you before in my life.
So he loses it.
He says, you're ignorant and you're shallow and you throw yourself at worthless men.
Like Joe Quinn.
And she's like, don't you fucking talk about Joe Quinn, the man you shot in the head. And his lawyer is just, Callie Thorne is just standing there. We get shots of her standing completely still hoping to disappear.
She says something like, don't say anything. And it's like that train has left the fucking station, lady. Like your job at this point is to break his jaw so he cannot, as his attorney.
So I think that this might be a thing that got cut because it's like so obvious that I can't imagine why they didn't do it, which is I think that there should have been or was and got cut a moment where she's like, don't say anything. Shut up right now. And he's like, don't tell me what to do, you bitch. I mean, I don't let any woman boss me around.
Yeah, that would make sense.
And then she's like, fine, you're on your own. Something.
Some kind of exchange because otherwise, what are you doing here, Callie Thorne?
Nothing. She's collected a paycheck.
Good for her. He says, it's time you all, all of you bitches learn your lesson.
And I know you. I know everything about you.
I know that you used to live at 627 East 63rd Street, apartment 23B. And you love frozen hot chocolate and sesame chicken. White girl loves frozen hot chocolate. News at 11.
Yep.
And I, I even know your old phone number, which is like five, five, five, one, two, three, four. And I called and I asked you to prom and I left you a voicemail and you never got back because your quote inner bitch took over. And, and I raped, and that's why I raped you. And Olivia's like, are you saying that you raped her? And he's like, I sure am fucking worthless ass lawyer.
And then they're, they're like at the doors, they're taking him away. And she's like, Wait, that's not my fucking phone number.
I never, you got my number wrong, you prick.
She says, I never got, like she needed to, even at this moment, she felt that she needed to validate him by being like, I never got that fucking voicemail.
But she calls him a bastard.
She's like, you killed my fiance, you evil bastard, you stupid evil bastard, which is quite good.
Correct.
But Olivia shoots this look at carissa or whoever else is in the fucking room i don't even remember like at this revelation that he got the number wrong she's like like why are you gasping how how does that make a difference because it's all so random you you're a fucking new york cop it's all random.
Wait so she's like oh if only he had got he's he's a victim all of this because it was a miscommunication if only Because I know this Colleen girl, if he had called and left her a voicemail asking her to prom, she at least would have called him back.
She would at least would have called him back.
Like, is that what it's supposed to be?
And then he wouldn't have been an incel? I don't think so.
I think once you're at that level, the... The course has already been charted.
It's going to be something.
You're too far down the road at that point.
Yeah.
The callback on the voice, because it would have still been no, more likely than not. So if it was a not callback or a no, you didn't need that much of a push to push him over the edge is what I'm saying.
Or just fully lean into it and have him be like, oh, fuck. This is my face, Red.
I want him to be like, you serious, Clark?
You know no i got the fucking number wrong i love.
It if she was like what was the number again it's like five five five one two three four it's like oh it's five five five one two three five it's like oh fuck it you know i wrote it was supposed to be like a six it's like oh it looked like a five the way i wrote.
It i smudged it i'm a lefty son of.
A you can't be are you serious Man.
You know what?
Take me to jail.
You know?
Take me to jail.
Fuck me. That's like 20 years of my life just wasted on this whole obsession.
Wasted.
Man.
That's our Dick Wolf. From Trivia Corner.
I just would love it if his sentencing would be like, you know, honestly, your honor, like, did James read a five and a fucking six? Honestly.
Whomst among us has not read the number wrong? I mean, again... Whomps Among.
Us has not left a girl a voicemail asking her out and then never gotten a call back and still thinks about it.
This is why I think it should be illegal to have a voicemail where it just reads back the number you called. It's like, I know the number that I called.
You gotta identify yourself.
You gotta identify... Honestly, it should be illegal for women to have cell phones. I should have to call up her father.
I'm just saying, like, don't you think that would have solved this problem? Guilty on all charges. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Could.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Consecutive, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I want it on record.
Mulligan.
Right, right, right.
I need a mulligan. So, from Trivia Corner, the incel community are members of an extreme online subculture of self-proclaimed self-proclaimed involuntary celibates or incel for short they're mostly white heterosexual males who define themselves as being unable to find acceptable acceptable acceptable should be in italics because it's true acceptable romantic and sexual partners, and therefore are forced into being celibate. Their idea of the ideal romantic or sexual partner is a woman who is willing to accept the man being in total control of every aspect of their sex life. These men feel like they are entitled to be able to have sex whenever and wherever they want, regardless of whether the woman desires it or not. And
that is her, that it is her duty to perform whatever sexual act the man demands without question or argument. The, Discussions on incel online forums are full of resentment, misanthropy, self-pity, self-loathing, misogyny, racism, and the most prominent topic being that men are entitled to be able to have sex with a woman. The incel community is on the FBI's watch list of dangerous violent groups that commit hate crimes.
Not anymore. It's not.
In fact, members of the incel community have been responsible for a number of mass shootings in recent history with at least four mass shootings occurring in North America since 2014 and totaling at least 45 deaths. It doesn't say when this was posted, but the number.
Has gone up.
That makes a couple good points where it's an acceptable romantic partner because they don't have a strong sense of other people. Just talk to people, man. Whatever.
They just want the fucking... They want basically the same thing that we have scarred millennial women with, where it's like, this is the ideal body image.
Yes.
And that is what they want, because they are of the same cohort. They just went the other direction.
Yeah, and....
They obviously want a version of a woman that doesn't and never existed.
Yeah, blow up doll.
They want like a sexy... Leave it to Beaver's, Mrs. Cleaver's situation.
I mean, this is like, obviously you see how this evolves into the trad wife and Christian nationalist thing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
One of the names on the tenant list at the apartment is Michael Green, who is the episode's director of photography. And Callie Thorne reprises her role as defense attorney Nikki Staines, who first appeared in season five. She was also in two episodes in season five, and then... season 18 episode imposter season 19 episode dare. And she's also two more episodes of this season and one in season 23, but she was the main character, Laura Ballard on seasons six and seven of homicide, which takes place in law and order universe.
And that's where John Munch comes from. And they're the same thing.
With, um, Oh, man.
Captain Holt.
Andre Brower.
Andre Brower, when he showed up on SVU, he was also on. Yeah, but when he showed up on SVU, Munch was like, you look different.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
From the goofs department, Riley claims the phrase all men are created equal and entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is in the Constitution.
It's not. It's in the Declaration of Independence.
Yep. the C this is, this is two weeks in a row. The scene card for Chris Karnasas, his house says that he lives at four, six, seven, nine Dodgewood road, Riverdale, New York. But when Benson rings the doorbell, the house number is six, four, five.
And I'm actually 50 free.
Can't believe it. Really? So we got fired for that one.
Me too.
And I, and, uh, when the judge rules that the defense motion is to suppress the GPS, uh, info the judge rules that it the motion is sustained but uh this motion is is either granted or denied sustained is for objections yeah yeah so whoops whoopsie okay from user review corner there are many fewer reviews than last week but still more than usual go on this is from ewol 26155 from October 20th, 2018, which is right around when the episode came out, 1 out of 10 stars, quote, I searched the dark web for terms Chad and Stacy.
This episode is basically awful in every way. I hate its message, dialogue, characters, and possibility. First thing is that it sends a message that is harmful to people with mental and social differences, like the horrible interrogation scene. I think they're referring to the one with Chris. It is really bad for the viewers who are N-V-L-D or mild autistic spectrum disorder like myself. It is also very against the Constitution as the cops violate the suspect's Fourth Amendment and then act like the victims when the good lawyers win in a court of laws. It also has dumb dialogues like, I searched the dark web. That is pretty dumb.
When it's everywhere on the web, everything about this episode is bad, and it's not even good for a cringe fest.
If it were, if it were, I would give it four stars if it were good for a cringe fest.
I just like how it's like, won't anyone think of the rapist who might be neurodivergent?
I mean, they shouldn't be like, we'll make your mom homeless, but Yes.
No, but the way it's like, well, you know, it's like, you realize he's a rapist, right? Like, he and his buddies, like, okay, like, don't make me side with the show, okay?
Don't make me side with the show. And from the other side of the aisle, we have, like, a trio of really weird positive reviews. Hmm.
But, um.
This is from Zachary Keeler from October 13th, 2018. Once again, right around when the episode came out. 10 out of 10 stars. Incels are pure evil. After watching this episode, I can honestly say incels are pure evil.
Agree?
That's it?
Oh, all right. That's it. B. Kogan Bing refers to this as revenge of some nasty nerds, which is pretty good. There's someone who misses the frog. I just like saying this is the frog.
This is the snake.
Lastly, but not leastly, this is from Melanie-73522 from August 13th, 2021. Nine out of ten stars. Show writers, please, please, please do some karma episodes. I truly wish we would see some of these snaky defense attorneys. Yes, I realize people are entitled to a defense, but please. would get a dose of double karma in return for the people they've helped get off for horrific crimes. Nine out of ten stars.
So you want the episode where Callie Thorne gets raped by an incel?
Apparently so.
Although she didn't get him off.
Also, like, also true. Melanie, this is fiction, you know. I desperately hope you know that.
And also, that, it, That's their job.
That's their job.
If they win.
Everyone's entitled to a defense.
You should be more mad at the prosecution for not doing a better job at their job.
Great point. And that's our episode for this week. That um was really bad. And that's our episode for this week. Law & Order SVU Season 20, Episode 4, entitled Revenge. If you agree or disagree with us, if you want Callie Thorne to get some double karma... I.
Don't want to put that over the airwaves.
I'll take that back. I'll take it back. Scratch that. Scratch that.
If you want all defense attorneys to meet a horrible fate because.
Yeah. If you are Chad Thundercock, let us know. We're at SVU Podcast on Blue Sky and Instagram. The official Blue Sky and Instagram of Chad Thundercock's father.

Indeed. And tune in next week when we view and review and lovingly ridicule Law & Order SVU Season 20 Episode 5 entitled Accredo?
Accredo? A-C-C-R-E-D-O? Accredo?
Sure.
A member of a women's empowerment group is found murdered, leading the cops to the group's charismatic male leader. Meanwhile, Rollins keeps her pregnancy under wraps. To avoid going on desk duty. It feels like she just did that.
I was going to say, Liv knows. Carisi knows. Everyone seems to know. What do you mean? Is Dodds coming back?
Yeah, exactly. And joining us next week is a bunch of women that sort of all look like Tilly Norton.
Do you know yes i i am familiar yes.
So yeah this looks like four actors who were used to feed the tilly norwood face we have Lily, Simons, America, Olivo, Tara, Westwood, and Lexi Lapp, and they all look really, really similar. And I have a feeling that that's a feature, not a bug. I think that that's probably part of the episode, is my guess. Sure. So until then, I guess we'll find out next week. Until then, for Law & Order Special Viewing Unit, I'm Aviv Rubenstein.
And I'm Matt Reuter. We will see you guys next week. Gum gum.
Thank you.
