Good Morning Football.

Coming into Sunday, the Chiefs and the Niners were two of the three undefeated teams on the season. Well, they were both handed their first L's. And now you're going to hear from both Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy, who have to work through the emotions over getting over the loss, but also getting your team right before the following week.

Here are some pretty candid answers from the quarterbacks.

Got your, got your tail kicked.

Um, didn't execute, um, offensively, especially, um, especially around that midfield area, um, kept us away from a lot of points. Um, or at least enough points to be competitive. But it's stuff you've got to learn from. That's obviously a really good defense, and we didn't execute at a high enough level to have success.

Obviously, we're 6-1. This one stings.

But we really do have to have perspective on how we're playing, what it's going to take moving forward for the second half of the season.

Every game, every little thing matters. So we've got to take care of our bodies.

And be back ready.

All right, injuries are one thing for the San Francisco 49ers. We know what that looks like for that team. The Kansas City Chiefs being held out of the red zone against the Seattle Seahawks, Mandai, is a mind-boggling stat. And it's the first time that that's been handed to them in a Patrick Mahomes start.

Yeah, they were held out of the red zone, Jamie.

It's the fewest points, the fewest total yards, the fewest first downs of Patrick Mahomes' career as a starter in this league.

But I got to say, it happens.

I mean, that's just an old school butt whooping and you watch film, you correct the mistakes and you come back and you have all the weapons that you entered into this game is still with you going forward.

For me, it's the San Francisco 49ers.

Ever since Mike Evans went down at halftime in the second quarter of the Commanders game, that offense doesn't look like what it used to. Like what once was lavish isn't lavish no more. I mean, Brock Purdy, He threw for two interceptions. He walked into that game with two interceptions. And he's been playing at an MVP level. That's the least amount of points. That four total turnovers.

And that's the.

Second fewest rush yards by Christian McCaffrey.

It was a very basic.

approach and attack by Kyle Shanahan and that offense. And for Brock Purdy, he looked very uncomfortable. The offense literally went through Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle, and that was it. And it doesn't help that you have a plethora.

Of other injuries.

But even amongst those injuries, as long as Mike Evans, as long as number five was.

That X wide receiver, it still looked great. It still looked explosive.

Brock Purdy still looked like the MVP conversation Brock Purdy that we've been talking about. But when number five went down, they still haven't been able to recover.

Hopefully they do recover.

But more importantly, Isaiah, hopefully number five recovers because when he does or if he does, then I think that San Francisco 49ers offense gets back to what they were doing before.

Until then, it's been a struggle. Yeah, obviously the 49ers are going to figure things out.

Those guys have a tremendous amount of injuries that nobody can even wrap their head around and they still find ways to win ball games.

I'll give them one game to have a mulligan, but I'm going to go with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs, dare I say that they need help offensively.

Andy Reid needs some receivers. He needs some.

Guys out there on the field that he can actually get the rock to and help because this team has somehow some way this season become a running team.

Yes, I know.

It's kind of weird to say the Kansas City Chiefs are a running team, but that's what happens when you add Kenneth Walker III, and he has absolutely lights out first six games of the season. But now the Seahawks have highlighted exactly where their weaknesses are.

They shut down Kenneth Walker.

They shut him down to 14 carries and 36 yards.

And you see it on your TV right there.

213 yards for the game for the Kansas city chiefs.

That is not a quarter. That's not a half.

That's the complete game with Andy Reed and Eric being to me as your officer coordinators, the chiefs were unable to establish a running game. And then when they turned to the passing game, their fastest man on the field, Xavier worthy.

Only had 11 yards on the day.

They, the top two guys that they're receiving the ball for them was Travis Kelsey and Noah.

Great. Those are your tight ends. They both have 44 yards.

This team needs some help on the outside because without that running efficiency, there's nowhere for the ball to go.

Yeah, I can't say Niners here. Nobody goes undefeated. It was a weird game. They fumbled three times. Fumbles aren't a problem with your team. I think fumbles is just a problem with your technique, and I think they'll bounce back from that. Listen, I watched that Chiefs-Seahawks game with my jaw on the floor, and honestly, I'm kind of breaking the segment here. I feel like I learned the most about the Seahawks by way of the Chiefs because that defensive performance was, I think, the best that I've seen all year. We could even go back to last year when they were the Super Bowl champs. I mean, that was incredible. I've seen teams hang banners for less than we kept Patrick Mahomes out of the red zone.

There are some franchises out there who would hang a banner for that in a.

Regular season game.

What they did to Walker, what they did to Mahomes, what they did to everybody. The Chiefs are going to be all right. The Chiefs are going to have a say in this thing. But it was just a little reminder of the Seahawks about just... Chill out, everybody. The champ is still the champ. I know we were 500 going into this game. We will still lock you the hell up. To me, Chiefs, Niners, they'll all matter. The Seahawks, the best defensive performance of the year, and that includes all of those incredible performances by Brian Flores Vikings.

Okay, well, if we're going to stand up for the Seahawks, then we'll stand up for the Falcons as well because that's who beat the 49ers.

Jesse Bates.

Going for two.

Jesse Bates.

So the Raiders, we all watched them. They started the season 3-0, but now they've faced an absolute ridiculous string of quarterbacks, and they've dropped four straight. This now has people wondering, how do the Raiders go about making a decision about the quarterback? Because they have a number one overall pick in Fernando Mendoza sitting in their building. And even Kirk Cousin knows that if things don't improve as it pertains to his play, that a decision needs to be made.

If I'm not the best option, then I don't want to be out there either. I want our football team to have the best chance to win games. And if the first OTA, if that had become apparent, I would have been the first one to say, yeah, you can't play me. So nothing changes. And the organization will do what they feel is best.

I want to let you guys know that Kirk is our starting quarterback. There is no controversy there. He's playing at a very high level. And he's got to continue to do that for us to win. And we've got to keep helping all the areas around him.

All right, we've entered the window of this conversation now because this is Kirk, the first three weeks of the season. We were ready to crown him, and it's fallen off in terms of quarterback play. But again, as I said, really challenging opponents they've faced in the last couple weeks as well. Kyle, how far away are we from seeing Mendoza?

Where do you think you're at emotionally with demanding to see the number one overall pick?

I respect the conviction from coach. Nope, this is our guy. This is our plan.

Listen, the 2026 season in the span of Fernando Mendoza's career is is almost nothing. Like, we're talking about the 2036 season from him. You know, the 2040 season. That's the idea with Mendoza. So, eight years from now, three years from now, 15 years from now, the goal, he is the Raiders starting quarterback. No one is going to be sitting there 14 years from now and be like, yeah, I don't know why they waited so long that rookie year in 2026 behind Cousins. They are babying this thing.

They are nurturing this thing. Here's the thing. You guys, I have a feeling the answer is going to be yes. You guys ever make brownies?

Okay, here's the way it works.

You make the brownies, you put them in the oven, and they always give you that annoying instruction where it's like, you know, between 8 to 12 minutes or whatever.

It's like a huge window, all right?

So at 8 minutes, you take them out, you set them on the top of the stove, you take a toothpick, and you stick a toothpick in there, and you pull it out, and you see if the batter is still kind of wet. And if the batter's still wet, you put them back in. If the toothpick comes out dry and clean, those suckers are ready. Carve them up and serve them. The toothpick isn't coming out dry yet, all right?

The batter's not ready. Either Mendoza's not ready to play, or he doesn't matter. Maybe he looks amazing, but they're just making extra special sure that those brownies are perfect, because this is the most important batch of brownies they have ever made. So it's like, here's the good news. And Manti, you can follow up, please. If you are Raiders fans, like, give me Mendoza, what the hell?

I hear you.

If they lose at the Jets next week, I promise you, Kirk Cousins will be benched.

All right?

If they go to the MetLife and they lose to the Jets, you will get your wish.

Trust me.

Because the Jets right now, they're burning down the house. So if they go to the Jets and lose, then we'll talk Mendoza. For now, put that tray back.

In the oven.

Well, let's talk about the ingredients that the chef, Kirk Cousins, has been given right now. I don't think when you're looking at the ingredients, KB, that you can honestly put the.

the onus on Kirk Cousins.

Kirk Cousins right now is leading the NFL in passing touchdowns, okay? He has a better passing completion percentage than a.

Lot of quarterbacks in this league.

If you look at their run game, there's a lot of talk about the Packers' run game. That is the only run game that is worse than the Raiders' right now. The Raiders have the 31st-ranked run game. Now, you take into consider, who are the guys that.

Are catching the ball from Kirk Cousins? You have.

Obviously, Brock Bowers and Trey Tucker. You mentioned the Jets, KB. The Jets have a better wide receiver core than the Raiders. The Tennessee Titans have a better wide receiver.

Core than the Raiders.

The Cleveland Browns have a better wide receiver core than the Las Vegas Raiders. And so yet, Kirk Cousins is still being able to put up the numbers that he's been able to put up in what year 50.

That he's playing right now.

So I know that the Raiders fans are calling Fernando Mendoza and say, we need to put him in the game. My question to the to the Raiders fans is what is Fernando Mendoza going to do with the ingredients that he's been given to cook this brownie that Kirk Cousins hasn't already been able to do yes maybe he'll scramble a little bit more but until you get that run game fixed and until you get that quarterback more options to throw to.

I mean, it goes back to the Eagles game.

It's like, who's going to, whatever quarterback is back there, who are you going to throw the ball to? You don't really have anybody there. I don't think it's a Kirk Cousins situation. I don't think it's a Kirk Cousins problem yet. I think it's more so a personnel problem as.

You need to be able to give these guys, Isaiah, these quarterbacks, somebody to throw the ball to, or at least establish some sort of run game to kind of take that responsibility and that pressure off of them.

In a pass game.

Until you do that, I don't think the finger can personally be pointed at Kirk Cousins.

Kyle, I love me some brownies, and I'm not sure how many people at home still have toothache. I think most people are using the butter knife, slicing it through there and messing.

Up the whole look. Man, Kyle.

Matt, I'm right there with you, bro. Like, what do people truly think is going to be different? You just mentioned it. Kirk Cousins is balling right now. He's at the top of the league in passing touchdowns. He's at the top of the league in passing efficiency. He has zero run game. He has comparable stats to Dak Prescott, but you don't hear nobody talking about bench Dak Prescott.

What we're facing right now is a case of the shiny shoes. People get shiny shoes, get a brand new pair of shoes, and what do people want to do? They take them to the house. They don't set them on the shelf. They don't go put them in the closet. They want to put the new shoes on because they want everybody to see the new shoes. The shoes that you walked into the store with are perfectly fine.

But yet, I still want to put on those new shoes because.

They're brand new. That's what people see in Mendoza. They just want something different. They know they have him sitting on the shelf right now.

They're curious. They want to see everybody's reaction. But you have to.

Appreciate the fact that what you have on the field right now is productive. You just need to surround him with more support. People stop tripping. Let Kirk cook.

That's what he does. And you like that.

If you try to cut through those brownies and they're undercooked and then they all start to crumble and catch on the side of the knife, then you're like, good, you can't put them back in. So Kyle, you're right, you start to cut through that pan and it's all catching up and it gets gunking up and you're like, I did it. I'm impatient and I should have put these guys back in the oven. That is how we feel about the quarterback spot.

That's when I just get a spoon, Jamie, eat it right out of the pan.

Put some ice cream on it, we're good.

Now it's just become a brownie batter mush.

All aboard. Exactly. Good morning, football. Good morning, football.

Three Giants quarterbacks have started a game this season.

Jackson, Jameis, and JJ.

They've all gotten a win, which is great for John Harbaugh. They're also all first-round draft picks who seem to understand as a group that their egos need to be checked at the door.

Yeah, it's a really good room, I would say. It's a... probably one of the stronger ones in the league i mean jamis has started six games over two years for us five five of those games he had you know we had the lead or a tie in the fourth quarter um other than new orleans game was the only game that we didn't have a lead or a tie in the fourth quarter you know the two young guys with jackson and and jj that you know both talented players i mean it's a good position to be in it's a good position to be in and hopefully jj and jamis can stay healthy throughout the rest of this year and um You know, JJ can continue to play at a high level. He did a really good job on Sunday. I was impressed with how he played.

Joe, you've got to drop the shoulders a little bit, man. You're leading the division.

Let's go, Joe. Tight there. All right. Relax the traps. We love the Giants, GM.

Joe Shane believes his quarterback room is one of the strongest in the league. But I ask you guys this. Who is your favorite quarterback room so far this season?

I agree.

I agree with Joe. I'm going New York. I'm stay right there.

I'm gonna get us on a fairway guys. Jackson Dart. One thing I love about Jackson Dart is his maturity that he's shown this year being a team player being a being a leader on that team and then he goes down and everybody we all know Jameis like I would hang out with Jameis on the football. Football field, I hang out with Jameis in a meeting room. I would hang out with Jameis at Disneyland. He's one of those guys that he's just very, he has this infectious.

Energy about him, and he's just always optimistic. I would just love that. And then J.J. McCarthy. One thing I did notice about J.J.

McCarthy is I did see his post-game locker room speech, Jamie. And it's just somebody who's very appreciative of his opportunity. And then it all comes together where they're celebrating each other. I mean, Jameis had a little quarterback sneak from the one. I think he played like four or five plays last week, and.

He did the duck-duck goose.

Like, that's just something I would want to be a part of, and so I'm just going to get us on a fair way, guys. If there's a favorite quarterback room for me this season, it's got to be the New York Giants, Isaac.

Dude, the Disney reference is so funny because there's definitely a type of person I don't want to be at Disney with.

Like, you're like, we're actually.

No, no, I'm saying, Hugh, I'd be great with Jameis, but there is a distinction. Like, I don't need to be rushed from ride to ride or, like, don't tell me what to do. I can handle my own Disney experience. All right, my favorite QB room. I wanted to go with, like, the practical answer. I'm going with the Raiders, okay? Because this is what I picture when I think about the Raiders.

I picture Mendoza and Kirk, like, pointing at each other, being like, no, you.

No, you got it.

No, you got it.

No, you start.

You start.

Like, I just feel like they're two super nice guys that just care about each other a ton. I also, when you actually look at it from a practical standpoint, it's hard to find a backup quarterback that could be Kirk or could be Mendoza that will be as excited and energetic about being a backup and helping out.

There's no other room in the NFL that's like that.

Yeah.

That's why before the season started, I was like, start Mendoza.

You're not going to have a better backup quarterback than Kirk.

What other quarterback at his caliber would just be like, yeah, I'm hype about it.

He came on the media and he was like, look, if I'm not.

The guy, I will happily, I will tell the coach, I don't want to start anymore because I'm not the guy.

I don't know where else you're going to get that. It's interesting.

And I just picture the Spider-Man meme like, no.

No, you got it.

No, you got it. No, you got it.

That's true.

They're going to be standing there until December doing that.

For some reason, all of us should go to Disneyland.

We all have opinions about Disneyland.

We all have thoughts on Disneyland. I'm not sure I'd want to go to Disneyland with you. No, I would. Oh, sure, Jamie.

Jamie, I know how you get down.

Oh, no, I'm a huge Disney guy. KB goes with the tour guide.

We want to draft off the tour guide.

Yeah, we want to draft off the tour guide, KB.

I am the tour guide.

If you guys want a convenient and delicious quick-service food at Disneyland, we go to California Adventure. You go by the Jumpin' Jellies and Goofy Sky School, and they got corn dogs.

It works fast, and they're delicious. Trust me. Jamie, I'll take care of you. I love it. My favorite quarterback room for several reasons. The Steelers. All right.

And I basically put this up just so everybody is talking about this. If you've seen Peaky Blinders or you haven't, we're days into this thing now. They go to France. They show up dressed as Tommy Shelby. Buy all the Peaky Blinders. The problem is that show takes place exclusively in England.

Like, it's not a French show.

And it's like they just ran through that stop sign and said, screw it, we're dressing up as someone who takes place in England even though we're in France. It's like if an English soccer team came to play a game in California and.

Dressed up as the Sopranos. It's like it doesn't even make any sense.

But I still haven't even heard from any of these guys what the explanation or the answer to that query is about why did you do Peaky Blinders for a game in France? Now, I know that Tommy Shelby fought in World War One, which in France, I think in part, but like that's nothing of.

What they're doing. They look great. I do like the show.

I just would love the definitive answer of why did you do that in France?

It doesn't make sense, but it makes me love them even more that they don't care.

Kyle, you're much better at this than I am.

I could not come up.

With anything off the top of my head that implies mainstream television movie success of a show or movie in France that they could have drawn from. So I guess we're just going with the across-the-pond concept.

Was it Emily in Paris?

Yeah, I mean, sure, but I don't know if that specific wardrobe department would track for NFL arrival at an international game.

Probably not. Yeah.

All right, so as Kyle mentioned, it's Halloween week, and football fans have been treated to some trickery this season on the field. Have you noticed the frequency of hook and ladder or hook and lateral plays?

It's picked up.

You started in week three with Mike Evans, Debo Samuel. And now the Cardinals have picked up the back end of this. They've got things up their sleeve as well in their playbook. Now here's Mike LaFleur trying to explain how they got themselves into the situation and why the logic was sound to run this on a fourth down play.

If it's fourth and nine, your playbook's a little bit more open right there. You kick it, it's 58 yards. That's not a chip shot. And so we just thought that was the right deal to go for right there. Called the play, got the zero. I thought it was kind of a dream. And I just, again, the clarity of what we needed to do to execute that play.

I thought that was going to end up walking in for a touchdown, and it didn't. So we've got to clean up the details.

And that starts with coaching.

All right, draw it up on your whiteboards.

I'm trying.

I'm trying. Who doesn't love a trick play? What's your all-time favorite trick play, Manti?

Well, I'm going to go week seven of 2014. The then St. Louis Rams was playing the Seattle Seahawks. And then they have a guy named Tavon Austin. It was a punt return where Tavon Austin, he acted like the punt was going to their left. But then you had Stedman Bailey. He's at the top of the screen right here.

Stedman Bailey peels off, catches the ball. They fool the entire punt.

Team of the Seattle Seahawks.

And Stedman Bailey returns this thing for a touchdown.

The St. Louis Rams that year were known for a.

Lot of trickery with the punt with their punter throwing the ball and all of that but this is something that I remember when we saw this play we try to do it ourselves so oftentimes you'll get a beat on a punter where he.

Wants to punt the ball But because Tavon.

Austin was such a feared returner, they knew that he was going to put the ball to their right. They said, listen, when we know he's going to put the ball to the right, Tavon Austin, act like it's going to the left. And it's like blind cattle. It's like blind sheep. All the punters, the defenders, are running to where Tavon Austin is.

And Stedman Bailey peels off and catches the ball and runs 98 yards or something for the touchdown. That's one of my all-time favorite trick plays. And the Rams that year were known for many of them, Isaac.

Good one, man.

I love it.

I've got a better one now.

I love competition.

All right, look, this is the fridge, right?

Yeah, it's pretty self-explanatory. Look, this was not a trick play.

But when you're in the Super Bowl and you're like game planning, who's going to run the ball? In no circumstance are you thinking that William.

The Fridge Perry is going to run you over.

To score.

I mean, this is the craziest thing in the world. First off, I looked this up.

There were only 15 players in the NFL in 1985 that were over 300 pounds.

That's first off.

Second off, when you're game planning, like I said, you're not thinking he's going to get the ball. I looked up, you know, the gentleman's name who got ran over, Larry McGrew.

Okay, Larry McGrew on the Patriots.

It was not on his bingo card to get ran over by this guy. So that's why I'm considering this a trick play. You're not lining up being like, oh, they're going to give the ball to the fridge to run me over, and I'm going to be on a forever highlight tape. So, yeah, this is my trick play.

I mean, he is standing in the backfield, so you're like, maybe it could happen, but I definitely can take him. It's probably like your next thought, and you definitely can't. You definitely cannot.

This is a Super Bowl.

How many times do you get to go to a Super Bowl, let alone have.

To get ran over by the fridge? I know you've got takes on this play.

Bow well a couple things he's standing right in front of the greatest running back of all time who doesn't get the ball and who the late mike dick of regrets not giving the ball this will really blow your mind isaac william refrigerator perry that season also caught a touchdown pass at the goal line and if you think that's not enough they tried to have him throw a touchdown pass at the goal line and it didn't work out Crazy. He was doing everything that year, and he was a rookie. That is a rookie defensive tackle, and that was part of what made the 85 Bears absolutely magic. Jamie, for my answer, my kids make fun of my handwriting, and they say they can't read it, but I'm going to hold up my answer, and I want you to

read it, okay?

Okay. My favorite trick play of all time.

Jamie, read this. The Goat, A.J.

Trapasso. Roll it.

If you don't know AJ Trapasso, school up on this. This is the greatest fake punt these eyes have ever seen. This is a preseason Titans highlight, okay? The Titans are wearing these weird blue jerseys. You don't maybe recognize them.

Wait till you.

Get the close-up shot of how AJ Trapasso handled this ball. It's a preseason punt. All right, the run is great. But what he's going to do is go with that oiler.

Rig on his helmet. He's going to catch the ball. put it around his back, fake the kick. Now he's in the open field. He's going to put his.

Foot in the ground and make a move and cut inside. Again, this is not some playoff game. It's a regular season game. The Jeff Fisher Titans are like, screw it.

Let's try. Why didn't they save this for the season?

It's so beautiful. Jason McCourty was on the team for this. He says it was one of the coolest things he had ever seen.

It's a great play.

I encourage everybody to know it. I'm not terribly well-schooled in what became of A.J.

Trapasso.

I don't know if he had a long career or not, but this play where he just puts that sucker around.

His back and takes off, I've always loved it. We run it about once a year at Good Morning Football. The GOAT, A.J. Trapasso. to go.

Kyle, you guys probably didn't have this issue, but I remember trying to palm a basketball so badly. I wanted my hands to... I wanted to grow up so badly because I wanted to palm a basketball. Do you know the guts it takes to be able to behind the back of football mid-snap and be like, no, this thing is definitely not going to slip out of my hand as I windmill this thing and take off simultaneously?

Smooth.

That's crazy hand strength. Kyle, great handwriting. I was worried it wasn't the go.

Very legible.

Very legible.

Exactly. I don't know what they're talking about. Yeah.

I can't read anymore.

It's not on screen.

I thought you were going to hit me with a cursive. Like, give me something hard at least.

No, I can do that next. All right, I'll do it next.

Do it, do it, do it.

Okay, good. Do it.

All right, KB, what are the chances that you were watching a play that we're about to show 25 years ago today that happened at Soldier Field? All right, this is a memorable play between Mike Brown, made on that Sunday, and again the following week against the Browns.

I was there.

You were there?

Okay, let's watch it, and then I want to hear the story.

How was that the game? Okay. Three wide receivers set. Beasley in motion.

And Garcia's pass is bobbled by Owens.

Intercepted by Brown.

Mike Brown into the end zone.

Wins it in overtime for the Bears. Couch out of the shotgun. Throws. That's batted into the air. Intercepted and the Bears are going.

To win it.

Mike Brown has done it again.

Brian Robinson appeared to get a hand on the football. And Mike Brown, the hero a week ago, does it on consecutive Sundays.

That's mind-boggling. Kyle, were you at both?

No, I was at the first one, the San Francisco one, where Terrell Owens was dominating the Bears.

It was a great, great game. Jeff Garcia, 49ers.

And Mike Brown walks it off two weeks in a row. It was the 0-1 Bears, my favorite Bears team of this generation, 13-3. They ended up losing to McNabb in the playoffs, but Jim Miller was the quarterback. Really good defense, young Urlacher. Mike Brown would have been one of the all-time Bears greats. He ran into a lot of injuries, but an awesome, awesome player out of Nebraska.

Back-to-back pick sixes to finish games in overtime. Crazy set. You guys must have something that you did last week that you thought was so great that you'd love to run it back this week. What's a repeat performance, Manti, that you need in your own.

Life this week, last week?

Well, this is so fitting for what we were talking about earlier in this segment. So, last week, my whole family came down to California, and we went to Disneyland, right?

And so.

At Disneyland, there's a few places. You gotta get that French, that garlic cheesy bread over there at Marisa's Treats. You gotta get the fried chicken bao bun at Docking Bay 7. But on Tiana's Bayou, which is, if OGs like myself, it's Splash Mountain, the old Splash Mountain. If you've been on that ride and you're on this log, You're gonna get wet, okay? So what my wife and I did was we not only got the ponchos, but then we got these cover, these shoe cover things. That was the best thing ever because everybody else got wet on this ride on that little log and we were just dry the entire time. So if I could do it again with my family, I would love to do that. I had all my siblings, all my nieces, my nephews, my

parents were there.

That was awesome.

But to be able to have these little hacks on our Disneyland shenanigans, I would do it again this week.

There you go.

I love it. What a great picture. You got a picture.

Yeah.

Disneyland brings out the best in us. Unless you're with the wrong person, then.

It makes you really frustrated.

Double down on that.

But Kyle, I'll go with you. All right.

Last week, for those of you who may or may not know, my wife's on social media. So she puts up the camera and she's like, okay, Isaac, come be in this video with me.

And she starts to open up a package.

It's Halloween costumes, okay? So last week I tried my Halloween costume. One thing that I did last week that I'm going to do this week, because I don't have a choice, is wear my Halloween costume.

That's me with a sequined shirt on.

Look at this. And this is my daughter.

She's saying yay. So I don't even, I'm Triton, I guess, from Ariel.

Sure, yeah.

Listen, I'm 6'5, 255 pounds.

I don't need to be wearing a sequined shirt.

I don't know.

There's a height and weight limit to that. In my mind, at least for me, in my household, whatever, I'm not wearing it. But my daughter, everywhere that we've gone, she's been like, Daddy, wear your costume.

Wear your costume.

I'm like, we're not going to Whole Foods with me.

In a sequined shirt like this. Either way. So I did this last week. We're running it back.

I don't have a choice this week. We're going to be in New York, actually. And I'm going to be walking around New York with this.

Not the only person. Actually, perfect place for you to be in a sequined crop top shirt.

Crop top shirt, yeah.

Yep.

Could we actually get a three-act?

I like it. Yeah, it's a little small.

Triton also has not aged terribly well. Ariel's 16 in that movie. He's marrying her off to some prince. It's a little weird. He's verbally abusive. It goes weird places when you let those Disney movies stand on the shelf as long as they do.

You know how much shame... Ariel's 16 in the movie.

Kyle, you know how much shame we feel when you say... When we bring up something, a movie, a show, and Kyle hits us with a, so-and-so hasn't aged terribly well. It's happened far too frequently recently on GMFB. We're just like, dang it. The Kyle movie police is out, and Little Mermaid just got axed by Kyle.

Dang it. Listen, Triton's spending all his time in the gym getting those gains.

He's not spending any time with all his six daughters.

He's a single father like they all are in Disney.

I may put down the incline press and make sure your daughter's not getting married 16 to some person with legs. 16? She says that in the movie. Daddy, I'm 16 years old. At the end of the film, she is married to an adult.

What are we doing? All right, Jamie, I said I would write my next one in cursive.

I lied.

I didn't write it in cursive, but I did write it... Come on, eyes up here. Eyes up. I did write it in a foreign language. So, Jamie, read this.

This is me last week.

Oh, that's really.

Good, Jamie. Wow, Jamie, that's really good. Here's me last week. Living my best life. Roll the V-O. Here we go. That's what I was doing.

Yeah.

That was crazy.

All right, so.

That's—I got a beret. I got my Wembanyama jersey.

Wembanyama, born and raised in the northeast suburbs of France.

I learned a lot about him. His father's 6'6. His mother's 6'3. He's 7'4.

And, of course, that's the Arc du Triomphe, who was envisioned by Napoleon, who ordered it as— built as a testament, a tribute to his army, and then died, like, three decades before it was even finished. He didn't see squat, although they did have his funeral under there. So that was just, like, a weird collision of time for me.

Also, I'm doing the show. It's, like, 2.30 in the morning at this point. Just bizarre.

That was me last week, and now I'm sitting in a broom closet in lower Manhattan.

Life comes at you fast. It really does.

You know whose parents were not 6'6 and 6'3?

Napoleon's, probably.

All right, that was Whiteboard Wednesday, everybody.

I thought you were going to say Ariel. Yeah, let's... Exactly.

All right.

Kyle, fish years are different. It's like dog years, okay? So maybe she was actually of age, all right? Because I want to be able to watch a little mermaid without judgment.

That's interesting. Yeah.

You got it, Isaac. He breaks all her stuff, all her treasures. He breaks them all.

Come on!

Hey, hey, hey! Oh, no!

Good morning, football!

As you can see inside our GMFB studios, we're well within the window of ghosts, goblins, and skeletons decorating the streets of the neighborhood that you live in. So let's play a game, new game here on our show, dead on or dead wrong. Topic is presented, and Manti and Seth will tell us why it's dead on or dead wrong.

First up, all eyeballs on the undefeated Minnesota Vikings. Here's their head coach, Kevin O'Connell, acknowledging the attention that's finally being paid to his squad.

There wasn't a whole lot of eyes on us when we were a team that people expected to be in the bottom of the division or whatever they thought. We're a team now that people are trying to figure out, and it's not always really exciting to figure out not turning the ball over, time of possession, being a very minimally penalized team. A lot of things that probably don't warrant a lot of advertising dollars, and I understand that, but at the same time, I see what I see on the film and the things that I need to fix where I can be better and our players can be better, and that's what we're trying to do.

All right, it might not be the fanciest bowl in the China shop, but the Vikings have won six games.

That is, they are undefeated.

Dead on or dead wrong, guys?

This Vikings defense is good enough. to not worry about their offense. Manti?

You are dead wrong right there.

You need to be able to have some sort of offense because I do.

Love that defense. I do love the Minnesota Vikings.

I was very high. I mean, Jamie can tell you. I am still very high on the Minnesota Vikings. But defensively, you need some rest. You need to be able to have some respite as to... an offense that can sustain a drive, right? You need to be able to have that confidence. The last thing you want to do is start to split this team. Like, offense, you do your thing, we'll do our thing, right?

That's the last thing you want to do.

And when you have an offense that has been struggling like the way that the Minnesota Vikings offense has.

Been struggling, oftentimes that happens. So, you do need that.

Not to mention, in the NFC North, you have the Lions, who put up about 30 points per game. And you have the Bears, who put up around 25 points per game. And that's including the games that Caleb hasn't played. And if you just consider those games, it's more than 25 points per game. So, you need to be able to put up some points, get that defense some rest, give them some time to get on that sideline and recover.

So, you are dead wrong. What you got?

You know what?

I would love to be able to argue with you. And I don't know if you.

Sorry for you or not, Jamie, but I'm just jumping on this wagon, man.

I'm not sorry, actually. I'm not. But I'm going to put it right over here.

And look, it's just not sustainable, guys. It's just not sustainable. I mean, look, defense wins championships. I'm on that bandwagon for sure. And let me tell you, Beak Flow, Minnesota Vikings, they have an absolute championship caliber defense.

Scheme-wise, it's incredible. The players... elite. Everybody's doing their job.

It's just not sustainable for a full season for their offense to be struggling as much as it is to get all the way through to where they want to go. Because this squad, they got championship aspirations. You don't start a season 6-0, this dominant of a defense.

And go, oh, yeah, we'll be fine.

We're going to get to the playoffs.

No.

You want, and I know KOC, he's on that clip and he's talking about, look, I see the things and they're great and I'm making the adjustments that I need to. But in the back of his mind, he would love to be putting up Oh, yes. He would love to go down and just punch in these drives with touchdowns. He doesn't want to be relying on field goals and defense to win these games in time of possession. That's all great. But these are all buzzwords. You want to put up 30 points a game.

That's what you want.

So sustainability in this league, you're going to have to. You're going to have to put.

Up some points.

The time of possession is not lopsided, though. So the defense is getting their rest on the sideline. It's just that every time the Vikings march the ball down the field, and while they might take their time, it ends up with three on the board. Shout out to Will Riker. Just having a great season so far. All right, we get it.

One more. Okay.

Lamar Jackson may return. Okay, let's clear our Vikings logos off.

The scary red skull.

Lamar Jackson may return to the lineup for the Baltimore Ravens this weekend, just in time to take on a familiar AFC foe in the Buffalo Bills. Head coach Joe Brady now is tasked to prepare his defense with a two-headed monster in the Baltimore backfield.

Lamar, there's a reason he's MVP, one of the best players in the world, right? And then you couple that with You know, with what Derrick Henry's, you know, you got another Hall of Famer in there. And, you know, Declan obviously does a great job with the offense. So, yeah, I mean, they're two-dimensional in everything that they can do. And, you know, it's going to be a huge task for our defense. And, you know, but it's a great opportunity for us as well.

You know, we got plenty of guys on this team that can make a play, that can spark the game and change the whole dynamic of how the game is going and just believe in one another.

All right, dead on or dead wrong, Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry are still the scariest backfield in the NFL.

Oh, fuck. I mean, to me, this is a no-brainer. Absolutely.

Still, we're saying it like there's anybody even close. I mean, when Lamar Jackson is healthy, this backfield is terrifying because you have a guy, and Derrick Henry, who is a bona fide Hall of Famer, first ballot, no question, maybe one of the greatest running backs of all time when it's all said and done.

He will run through you. He will put you on the ground. He will make you cry. All of the above.

And then you've got Lamar Jackson, who, when he wants to take off, can do the same thing. He can shake you out of your pants, or he can just stay behind the line and chump the ball down the field. There is no duo in the NFL with a one-two punch like this.

And, Manti, it's not even close.

No, it's not. It's not even close.

I agree with you, Seth.

They're definitely the scariest. Now, I've been able to play against Derrick Henry. I've been able to play against a very young Lamar. I've never had to play against both together.

Would you cry.

The way that he just implied?

Would you cry?

Would they make you cry?

Would there be tears?

Would they shake you out of your pants? Make me shiver a little bit? Would I have to move up a little bit so it's not?

But scariest can also be taken a different route, right?

Scariest as far as production. No, you're not going to say. You're going to say dead wrong. I think. Okay, wait.

I think I know what you're going to do.

Is it red? It's red and blue. Where are they? Oh. Right here. Boom, boom. You see this team right here? Oh, what? You see Josh Allen and James Cook? Whoa. Let me tell you something about scary.

When you talk about putting up numbers, when you talk about putting up yards, just take.

A look at this graphic right here.

Ooh, combo pack.

See that combo? You see the touchdowns?

You see the rushing touchdowns combined, passing touchdowns combined.

Rush attempts less. But look at the yardage. more so i do.

Agree brother that pre-snap if i'm looking at lamar and he's going through his cadence and i look next to him it's number 22 yeah i'm quaking in my boots Post-snap in 2026, Josh Allen and James Cook has been cooking.

And they've been scaring defenses. And I think Josh Allen alone makes people scared because of what he does with the football in his hands. Go ahead.

You've got to put that graphic back up. We have to put that graphic back up. After we see these awesome Buffalo Bill highlights, we're going to get that graphic back up. Look at this asterisk here on the bottom of the screen.

Very true.

Lamar Jackson, four games played, all right? So you're working at a deficit here, okay?

I don't control the deficit, Mal.

You're working, but you have to take the deficit into account.

I do get that. I do get that. Look, I love James Cook.

I think he's one of the most underrated backs in the NFL because he has to play in the backfield with a guy like Josh Allen who throws the ball and runs the ball.

James Cook, all due respect, and I love him. Please don't take this the wrong way.

You are not striking fear into the hearts of defenders the way Derrick Henry is. And it could just be because, you know, Derrick Henry is like half a person bigger than James Cook. But you are just not striking fear. When he gets the ball, if I am, dude, I'm backing up.

You know what I mean? I'm getting out of here. I'm going this way. I'm not going that way.

See, there's a fear of getting run over, and there's a fear of getting ran out the stadium.

I think there's two different fears right now.

And right now, I think under Declan Doyle, he takes, because Lamar's under center a little bit more, he takes a lot of that fear out of him running, Lamar running a lot more than he used to in the past with Todd Munkin and Greg Roman, all of those guys.

So there's different types of fear. I agree with you. I'm just bringing a different team into this.

It.

I respect it.

Let's also keep this healthy conversation in mind as to why it's only been four games for Lamar Jackson with the high ankle sprain because of the way that he dynamically plays that quarterback position. That would be why he may not want to return to the field as quickly as possible. Because he's not just sitting there patting the ball five times and throwing it. He has to be able to get out. And if his ankle is good, then it's good for football fans because it's Bill's Ravens this weekend.

Finally, it is Thursday.

Yet, here is Dan Campbell still trying to explain himself on his fourth and one decision from week seven. And I'm telling you, he's going to pull out all the stops to help the media in Detroit understand why this just made sense for him as a coach.

I think it's just part of my flavor, what I believe in a little bit. Have you guys ever seen Uncle Buck? I think I'm a little bit like his fedora, the hat that he wears, right? It's a little bit of a flavor, and it's my favorite hat, but just the mere sight of it, I think, really bothers a lot of people. So I always think Uncle Buck a little bit, man. John Candy's wearing that. Is it the hat?

Is it the hat? Is it the hat?

I had no idea the fedora was an annoyance to movie buffs. We need Kyle Brandt on the show, who's, by the way, on his way to Western New York to talk to Josh, I'm sure, ahead of Bill's Ravens this weekend. But there's Uncle Buck with the hat and a drill, and apparently that bothers some.

I love how the hat matches the jacket.

Moving on. Dead on or dead wrong, Dan Campbell would be the current NFL head coach that would make the best comedic.

I do love Dan Campbell. Comedy? I don't think so. Motivation?

I would definitely go Dan Campbell, but I hit this little logo right here.

Oh, there it is. You see this thing right here? Make it bigger. Monken? You're on the Monken wagon. This year has been hilarious. Okay? He talks about telling the fans who live around the practice stadium or practice field with the noise. He said, well, you better move.

When he gave the kicker the game ball after he got that game-winning field goal.

And he's like, that's it. Get the bleep out of here. The guy's hilarious, bro.

I like this Todd Munkin. First time as a head coach, you start to see his character come in. You start to see his personality kick in.

I love Todd. I think he's hilarious.

Like, I would love to watch Todd Munkin in one of those comedy movies.

I think he's very fitting. Todd Munkin. respect that. Thank you. Because I love Munkin too. You know what else I would love?

I would love to see Dan Campbell in the Uncle Buck fedora. I would love to see if it fit his giant.

Feels like a natural next step, right?

John Candy also has a giant. I'm going to go dead wrong on this too, but I got my own.

My favorite coach is this guy.

This guy right here. Look, he's already got his start. He's already got his start on the commercials.

That he does.

Yeah, that's true.

He The litmus test for me, my wife's a bit of a football fan, but not like huge, right?

Way to go back. She'll watch a little bit.

If she sees something on TV and she laughs at it from a football perspective, so when you see him on the State Farm commercial, he's like, it's a hard time getting up.

He's like, I'm coming. I just love his dry wit. He's such a funny guy, man. I love Andy Reid.

He's my kind of humor. It's a humor that's like a really personal taste.

He's my kind of humor.

Sorry, Dan Campbell, you're going to go 0 for 3 on this one for me. So we got Todd Munkin, we got Andy Reid, and I think comedic actor best delivered oftentimes is in the deadpan delivery. Where are they?

Where are they?

Because if you can get this guy to stand there and with his.

Dry, dry... zero.

Smile crap zero dimple shown zero hint of like i know this is so funny but i am not gonna change my face that's my favorite kind of comedian.

I love this this is like ben johnson yeah but.

Then he keeps the face doing it it's great this is a good lineup good lineup guys enough with the hallmark movies all right we gotta go like you gotta make these guys compete on like a stand-up comedy show that's a different thing.

That's good yes here we go Good morning football.
