Shelton’s All-Time Performance in Epic QF Classic | US Open Something Major QF's | EP 213

On this episode of Something Major from the US Open, Sam, John, and Stevie break down the late-night scheduling backlash and why there’s no perfect solution after a “perfect storm” slate pushed Ben Shelton vs. Carlos Alcaraz deep into the night. They also recap Shelton’s huge, fearless win over Alcaraz—his first top-three Slam win, highlighting his improved return, fitness, and clutch fifth-set tiebreak, plus Alcaraz’s classy response in defeat.
The guys cover Frances Tiafoe’s five-set comeback over Alex Michelsen,, Zverev’s straight-sets win and Khachanov advancing via retirement. Plus, they discuss Rybakina reaching world No. 1, Coco Gauff saving match points vs. Andreeva, Sabalenka’s gutsy win, and Pegula’s consistency before previewing the semifinals and making their picks.
