Reality with the King is hosted by me, Carlos King. I'm an executive producer who have produced some of your favorite shows from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, New Jersey, and my own creation, the Love and Marriage franchise and Bell Collective. Every episode, we recap reality television from the Real Housewives franchise to The Bachelor or Selling Sunset. in addition to celebrity guests, whether in the unscripted space or scripted as well. Hey, Raindrops. On today's episode of Reality with the King, we are getting into... Why say we? Well, you know, it's me doing another solo episode. I kind of miss doing solo episodes for you guys because... You know, OC, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, Potomac. The other cities I have co-hosts.
But I'm enjoying talking to you guys solo. I haven't done this in a while. But I've been doing this since the top of Roni Reboot Season 16. As we get into Episode 4. And I don't know. I kind of like it. But let me know. Do y'all want me to continue doing it solo? Or... Do you want me to invite a co-host? And if you want me to invite a co-host, leave a comment and let me know who, okay? Go to Spotify comments, go on Twitter, slash X threads, let me know. Okay, so let's get into this episode. It picks up where things left off at Daisy's Ramadan dinner that she was having. And this is when Erin gagged everybody in last week's cliffhanger, where she talked about how Haley ruined a family of eight kids. Okay. Oh,
by the way, by the way, by the way, by the way, by the way. Now look. I would like to do a retraction because as a journalist, hey, Claudia, as a journalist, you guys said to me in the comments, my DMs, Carlos, you got the Hayley and John Gosselin story wrong. What you reported last week is not what she meant. So I would like to apologize and retract what I said. I did rewatch it and I got it confused. It's a confusing story, but... Thank you guys for calling me out. I receive it. And as a journalist, okay, the retraction stands. Now, we'll get to the intention. Because although I may have gotten the chronological order wrong of the story, stay tuned to see if my feelings have changed on the intention. Okay? Okay? So stay tuned. So anyways,
Aaron made that comment, gagged everybody. Hailey is breathing. She's exasperating. She is waiting to exhale like Whitney Houston, shoop, shoop, shoop. She is all the way gagged because Aaron is what the force multiplier of this show. This show, whether you like her or not, I was talking to Dustin Ross about Aaron and And I said to him, like, she's my favorite. And he goes, although she's not my favorite, his personal favorite, he's like, Loz, I get it. I get it. And I get why you like her. There is no Roni reboot without Erin. She's the force multiplier of the show. The way she gagged Hailey and how Hailey was breathing like she was on a ventilator and My girl needed CPR. Listen, she needed an inhaler. She
was losing my breath, Destiny's Child, off the Destiny Fulfilled album. I mean, she was gagged. And look, one thing I will say, I will say this. I do not feel that the punishment fit the crime. Like, I am on Hailey's side with that. Calling Aaron boring and strawberry jam, you know, whether you need it or you don't, which I think is hilarious, you know, is really good. So the thing is, what I find so fascinating about what Aaron did was the fact that she wanted to get under her skin. Did Aaron do a move that a seasoned reality star would do? Absolutely. Absolutely. She knew to say something so spiteful to Hailey in order for her to know, bitch, I'm not the one you play with. Like, play with boobs, play with your husband, you're not playing
with me. And Aaron wanted her to know, like, I'm not that girl that you can mess with. That's seriously what she thought. And Haley could not believe that Aaron delivered it with her piercing eyes. You know what I mean? You know that piercing look that Luann gave Bethany when they were at Dorinda's house in the Berkshires? And she looked at her with those piercing eyes and said, are you getting laid? You know, I'm the Kim Cattrall of the group. You copy my hairstyle. Like, that's the look that Erin gave Hailey from across the table. She gagged her.
She gagged her. And Hailey's upset. She then tells us and them that at 20 years old, she said it was a false narrative what the story was. And she calls Erin a piece of shit. Aaron then talks about the fact that you talked about it. This wasn't a secret. You've mentioned it before. Mention it all, right? Come on, Bethany.
And then Aaron proceeds to tell us in her confessionals that Haley posts a lot of magazine covers of herself. So she's sort of like, look, if this bothers you so much, if you're so disturbed by it, Then why on your Instagram do you post those covers as throwback Thursdays, flashback Fridays, old school Sundays, okay? Way back Wednesdays. If you're so ashamed and, you know, well, not ashamed. If you're so distraught over this not being true, then why talk about it? And look, let's get into it now.
I could be the minority here, so call me Minority Report. Shout out to Tom Cruise. What I'm saying to y'all is this. I think Hailey intentionally got into the relationship. And look, to be considered to be the woman who broke up the marriage, although they were broken up, I gotta be honest with you, I'd rather hear from Kay Gosselin. Like, I hear what Hailey's saying, But in this case, there's literally three sides to every story. And I'm not saying Haley's lying, right? What I'm saying is I would like to hear from Kate Gosselin, the wife. Shit, I'd like to hear from John. Just so I can understand what's going on because, and I'm going to go fast forward a bit with the scene with her mother. You know,
even when she was talking to her mom about it and her mom made it all about herself, like, oh my gosh, I'm so distraught. You know, I was dealing with this so tough. I was dealing with it, dealing with it, dealing with it. And then to hear that her mother made it about her. Listen, y'all can say I'm reaching with this. I do think part of the mother's guilt had a lot to do with the fact that And Haley told us this. Haley blames her mother for setting this up. And I find issue with that because, Haley, you weren't some teenager. Like, you're a grown-ass woman. And based on your relationship that we see with your mother, you don't seem like a woman who does what other people want her to do. And yes, your mother can
be very influential, but I don't think Haley held any accountability for involving herself in that situation. First, it's the media's fault for getting it wrong. Okay, fine. I can take that. Sometimes media does that. But now it's your mom's fault because she set y'all up. But your mother is the one that made y'all do anything. You have to have some sort of onus To your decisions. And I feel like Haley got caught up in the lights, camera, action of it all. I don't think she was distraught by it. If you were, why are you posting magazine covers that gives you that sort of reaction? I think you were upset that Aaron gagged you. And Aaron gave you a taste of, not your own medicine, but my thing is this. You can't shade somebody and tell them
how to respond to your shade. Do I agree with what Aaron did? No. Do I think Haley deserved that vitriol? No, I don't believe that. And I don't accept it, right? But that's me. And what I've learned producing reality television is you can't tell somebody how to respond to your shade first. And Haley did start it. And Aaron's defense is, She didn't say anything negative about Hailey. She made a joke to the woman at Jessel's party in the first episode, but she didn't say anything negative about her. Aaron did.
I mean, Hailey did. You made the first negative comment, Strawberry Jam. And look, in Aaron's defense, now she's re... Now she's like... Going back and reliving those moments where she's at the dinner table and then they're making fun of Strawberry Jam. And at the time, she's like, I guess. But now she's like, so wait, you guys were making fun of me this whole time? So again, although I don't agree with Aaron, I at least get it. And Hailey, you can't tell somebody how to feel. And I just don't think Hailey's innocent. I don't think she's completely innocent.
You're blaming everybody, and I have not heard once, of Hailey holding herself accountable for what she did. So, look. Man, Hailey gets mad. She's talking about how she quit. And she calls Aaron a weak-ass bitch. Daisy's mad because she works so hard on the food. You know, Aaron's like, look, this is Hailey's claim to fame. Then... Haley goes outside and then Psy runs after her because Psy is like, look, I need a storyline. We'll get to Psy's behavior in a second because going off on Daisy didn't make any sense to me. So Psy's like, look, y'all about to fire me like I did Uba, Brynn, and Jenna Lyons.
So let me do something. So Psy got up out of her seat and realized the show must go on. I need camera time. So she went outside to, oh my gosh, come back in. No, come back in. And let's be clear. What I believe happened is the producers had to talk to Hailey because Hailey was taking off her microphone, which is what all reality stars do when they quote unquote quit. And then we as reality producers, we have to calm you down and talk to you and tell you everything's going to be okay. And go back in there, girl. Don't let the... This is the one thing we always tell reality stars. Don't let this girl run you out of your own show. You know, trust me. Those things were said. And Haley, you know, hey,
she got back in there, borrowed Jessel's makeup bag, went to the bathroom, but there's no popcorn ceiling, hopefully, in the bathroom. Because who wants that when you're looking in the mirror with dim lighting? And she, you know... wanted to fix herself up. She wanted to dab the tears. And I do believe in that moment, Erin did realize, okay, I may have gone too far. Like, I may have gone too far. This is Reality with the King, and I'm Carlos King. Let's get back into the show. You know, being called boring is not the same as being called, calling someone a homewrecker. So once again, I'm on Haley's side when it comes to I don't think she deserved the shade that Aaron made. I don't agree with it.
So that's that. What we also learned in this scene is the fact that Daisy has a driver named Dale who is also the server. And apparently he is also her driver. Task rabbit employee from Daisy Enterprises. I think he cleans her makeup brushes after she beats the face of Martha Stewart. I think he boils the water. I think he sanitizes everything else. That's what I think he does.
I think he's, you know, he does everything except blurts with her because she has her son's tutor for that. Okay. So we learned that about Daisy. Which, by the way, you know I love Daisy. Okay. So, Haley comes back in the room and, you know, she's trying to get herself together. And you can tell Aaron feels bad, like, okay, maybe I went too far. But what was interesting about all of this is the fact that Carol decided to check Jessel for discussing her friend Carolyn Bessette and And Jessel is, you know, saying to Carol as Carol's like, look, I don't like what you said. I don't like it.
I would like for us to stop it. You know, I don't want us to do anything. Jessel's telling Carol, well, you're kind of like dressed like Carolyn Bessette. Which I'm like, Jessel, you really don't know how to read the room. What you do know how to do is rehearse your reads. but you don't know how to read the room. And there's a vast difference. Okay. Carol is saying, look, I'm not trying to hold resentment, but I am when it comes to you. And told Jessel she was giving dingbat vibes, which again, we can have the conversation of did the punishment fit the crime? But in this case, the way Carol delivered it was so Upper East Side chic that I was here for it. Because look, I don't think Jessel's a dingbat by any means. I think she's a
very smart, intelligent, successful, you know, world travel businesswoman. I don't think she's a dingbat. I think Jessel just rehearses what she's going to do, say, act, perform, behave, wear. I think she's To me, she's the least authentic to look at. But I understand that she has a job to do and, you know, she's doing it. But the shade that Carol gave her, I thought was so funny.
Very interesting. And Carol is definitely somebody that is earning her apple. And I thought she was going to give us Cynthia Bailey vibes being the godmother friend to the show. But what we're now seeing is the fact that Carol is not the one to mess with. And we'll get to her gala later in this recap. Okay. So then at this point, Cy realizes y'all put baby in the corner.
And I'm an apple holder. And nothing's happening. So the girls are making fun of Daisy's popcorn ceilings and, you know, Jaisal, how Jaisal made fun of it. Daisy did say she wasn't bothered by it, which I'm not sure if I believe all of that. I'm not sure if I believe that Daisy wasn't bothered by it, because the way Erica and Jessel were playing in her face, you can cut back to the moment where she's staring at them. So I do think she was bothered by it. And even Si was like, no, I believe you were too. We also then... Realize in this moment that Daisy is living in a rent-controlled apartment for $ 300. $ 300. The price that Martha Stewart pays to do her makeup is how much the rent is. Which is insane. In New York City,
popcorn ceiling or not, to have... a rent-controlled apartment for $ 300, bitch, I won't be leaving either. I'll have popcorn ceiling, popcorn floors, put butter on it, some salt, cinnamon, something. Daisy's winning, $ 300. So Psy and Daisy start to get into it because Daisy's telling Psy that she would never live in a rent-stabilized apartment And then Cy all of a sudden gets an attitude and she's like, I am proud to live where I live. I worked hard to live where I live.
I'm proud of my ministry. I like the fact I get to swim in an indoor pool when it's cold outside. And then Daisy reveals to her confessional that Psy is paying up to $ 25, 000 a month. And this is why Psy had to make sure. She gave us a good scene. Because if you're spending $ 25, 000 a month on an apartment, you need this job. You need it. Especially when we learned that your husband took your credit card to pay for your birthday dinner. That's the reason why I think all of us was like, why is Psy getting crunk?
up in this woman's parents' home. It's because Psy has a $ 25, 000 rent, not mortgage, mind you, rent to pay for. That's why she has to make sure she gives everything to the show this season. She does not want to be brand gen-ud or u-bud off of this show. So she's going to give us a performance. And the performance she did, it was, you know, she did good. So to spend that much money a month, I would need a masseuse to be on call. I would need to have my back scratched, my nose hair clipped. I would need the doorman to personally deliver my Uber Eats. I... $ 25, 000.
I mean, raindrops. If you guys live in New York City, tell me. I thought paying like $ 5, 000 was a lot in New York City. $ 25, 000. Ed McMahon would need to be raised from the dead and hand me a check for millions that I won from Publisher's Clearinghouse. in order for me to pay $ 25, 000 a month. That's insane. But hey, Cy, if your influencer career is influencing that, then baby, let me know. Let me know. Let me know. Let me know.
Let me know. I'm gagged. I'm gagged. I'm gagged. I'm gagged. It's insane to me. I'm gagged the way bitch Haley was, honey, when Aaron read her. Okay. So that happened. It was nice to see everybody, you know, get along after that. First of all, Erica is that girl. And I don't feel like I'm getting enough Erica. We have a housewife who is married to a billionaire and they live in New York City. Now, if Erica's apartment is $ 25, 000, makes sense, worth it, we understand. $ 25, 000 to a billionaire is a quarter. Okay? So, I get that. What we learn as Carol is about to do this gala, it's a fundraiser, she's raising money for the kids. She calls Erica to make sure she's coming.
Erica's like, look, bitch, I am going to the Devil's Reprata movie premiere tonight. Because I was invited by Anne Hathaway and her husband. And I'm annoyed that we did not get a chance to see Erica at the premiere. Why wasn't cameras... At Erica's place, shooting her... Let me tell you something. The gala was fine. I ain't tripping off of it. It is what it is. But there's only so many times I could see Carol tell people to hush. Like, we get it. And I also felt it was reused. But I digress. That scene with Carol and the gala could have been two minutes. Low-key, it could have been a webisode on BravoTV.com. It could have been a vertical on Peacock. It could have been an Instagram story. I didn't have to see it. I'm telling
you guys right now. What we wanted to see. Was Erica getting glammed. Ready to go. With her husband. In their apartment. Getting ready. For Delvis Real Prada. We wanted to see what she wore. We wanted to see how she looked. We wanted to see. her, you know, FaceTime with Anne Hathaway, something. We wanted to see her getting in the black car, arriving to the premiere, taking pictures on the red carpet with Anne and her husband. We wanted to see, I'm telling you, that is the moment y'all could have, no shade. I don't need to hear about Jessel and her husband. I didn't need that scene. Low-key, I need the gala, if I'm gonna get that. Ending the episode on Dev's Reprata, premiered with Erica Richass, would
have been the icing on the cake. I'm telling you, that's what I wanna see. My favorite scene this episode was Martha Stewart handling a toddler, a glass of water, and she could not remember his fucking name. That's the shit I wanna see. I wanna see more of Martha Stewart telling Daisy, well, you know, Erica's husband... Got me, what is it, FIFA? Look, I ain't got $ 60, 000 to buy a ticket like that, baby. I mean, I ain't going to spend it on a ticket. Just saying. Ain't doing that. Is it the FIFA or FIFA? Let me tell you something, baby. This is rich people language. Give me a few years. Okay. I want to see more of that. I can watch Martha Stewart have lunch with her publicist. who looks like her sister. I mean, these
two baddies with white hair, wearing white diamonds, the perfume. I'm just here for it. I can watch that scene all day long. I want more Martha Stewart. Martha Stewart bragging about these tickets that cost either $ 40, 000 or $ 60, 000. She doesn't know. And Daisy's like, well, how can I get them? Well, you don't get them because you just don't.
You know nothing about it. That's the shit I want to see. And then when she was asking Daisy... If it's cheaper having a driver and how many tickets did you get since you've been driving? Plus, if she had sex with him to help. More Martha Stewart, please. The woman is so... Martha lives in the world of Martha Stewart.
Who in the world brings a physical hard copy of a calendar to lunch with a Sharpie and goes over your dates? Martha, I need you to know we have a thing called a calendar app on our iPhones, okay? We have a thing where you do a calendar invite from your assistant. Martha having a physical... printed out Kinko style calendar was everything to me. Everything. And then she gets mad like, well, can you do this day? Can you do it that day? This day? And Daisy's like, I'm not available. And Martha's like, I'm pissed. I'm not happy that you're not available for me. And then to hear how like Daisy having to fly coach when she's with her husband and But she rides first class and on PJs when she's with Martha. These are the scenes
I'm telling you that is making New York City Housewives the show to watch. More, more, and more. I love it. Jennifer Tilly Richass was also in this episode at the gala. You got people betting, auctioning off things, betting $ 25, 000 here, $ 40, 000 there. This is the shit we want to watch. This is wealth. Let me find out that New York is coming for Beverly Hills when it comes to the wealth.
Because New York City is the most expensive city in the world. And no shade to my OGs. The Lulu's, the Ramomo's, the Sonia Sonia, the Dorinda Clip Clap and all that. We didn't see that kind of wealth on New York City Housewives. Even when Bethany came back and You know, Bethany allegedly saw her company for $ 100 million.
I thought we really didn't see Bethany in the rooms, right? Like, Carol Raswell is part of the Kennedy family. So, of course, she's invited to, like... these galas. And of course she's on the board to raise money for stuff like that. And, you know, like, she's such a regal woman. That makes sense. But even as rich as Bethany is, her time on the show, I just felt like we never got a chance to see what we're seeing now. And we're getting it not only from, well, child, we should have got it from Erica in this episode, but hey. I'm advocating for more lifestyle. And I'm telling you, based on that and the ratchet fights we get, y'all got me sold.
New York City reboot season 16 is that girl. Okay. Let's get into one of the saddest scenes, which is Psy talking to her aunt About her husband. Um... Wow. Wow, Bethany, wow. Whew. So apparently, nobody liked Psy's husband. Her mother didn't, nor did the aunt. Okay? Um... And even Psy being honest about the fact that she really does want a divorce, but she had to lessen the blow by telling him first, let's just be separated. But she really wants a divorce.
And then the unsaid, y'all had no chemistry. Y'all weren't affectionate towards each other. We didn't say any of those things. And then Psy said what she believed her husband liked was the illusion of being her husband, the illusion of a family unit. And did y'all catch this? She said he also liked the lifestyle. Let me tell y'all something.
Let me tell y'all something now. Ladies, one thing I will say... If you are a lady who is the breadwinner in your relationship and y'all get together and your husband, like Jaisal's husband, all of a sudden is like, I'm going to quit my job. I'm going to do this. Lady, he wants you to take care of him. He does.
That's obvious. What we did not realize was Sai's husband was a real housewife. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Baby, Psy's husband should have held an apple. He's a real housewife, baby. Just so your husband wants to be a housewife. Not a food critic. That's why these ladies working hard. They got to take care of their husbands, baby. Psy's husband was a real housewife. Because the move he made on her birthday when he said, hey, I know we haven't been having sex and Things are weird between us. But, you know, yo, how about, you know, I'm going to take you out. So she gets dressed. He takes her to this expensive restaurant. She's feeling happy. He took care of the bill. She said they went back home. They had great sex. She wakes up in the morning. She's
in bliss. She takes a look at her credit card bills that comes. Of course, this is like, you know, weeks later, whatever. And bitch, that expensive ass birthday dinner, he put on her card. And she's like, you mean to tell me I paid for my own birthday dinner? And I think for her, for me, the world, it's how he went about it. It's how diabolical that shit is. Like, you did this behind her back. You did not even tell her. It's one thing you would have said, hey, I ain't got it. Do you mind? You manipulated gas.
It is... Gaslighting is not even the right word. That's manipulation and it's diabolical and it's disgusting. And in that moment, I felt super bad for Psy. And it does appear that we're not going to get the husband's POV because I, y'all know me, hate love and marriage, Bell Collective. I like the husband season six of Atlanta Housewives. I like the POV of the husbands, too, because I feel like I want to hear both sides of the story. I'm a journalist, after all. So not being able to hear his POV, I don't know if it makes you wonder, like, did you really do this? Because that's fucked up. And I'm not saying she's lying. I would like to know his POV. And I think it's fair. We were introduced to him on the show, so I think it's only
right that we get his POV. Just saying. But that really made me sad. Yeah. So we learned that Jessel's husband, Cy's husband, are housewives. I'm playing, y'all. They want an apple. We also learned this episode that Hayley feels like her mother orchestrated this relationship she had with John. I call BS on it. Hayley, I just feel like at 20...
I don't feel like you have to date the man your mom wants you to. I just don't. And again, why are you posting magazine covers? I'm lost. I don't get it. I don't get it. But look, the good news is Aaron and Helly made up at the auction. Okay. They discussed everything. Maybe one of the women told them to hush. And how it was disrespectful because this is an important program helping kids, child. But nonetheless, I was happy to see Aaron and Hailey make up. Another great episode.
We're four episodes into the season. And I will go on record saying these first four episodes of season 16 is 10 times better than the last two seasons of this show combined. Congratulations, ladies.
