Scrubbing in with Becca Tilly and Tanya Radd, an iHeartRadio and two-time People's Choice Award-winning podcast.

Hello, everybody.

We are scrubbing in.

Yes, we are.

It is Monday, November the 2nd. That's right. We are in November.

Somehow, someway.

Let me be the first to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I was not prepared to see your Christmas decor up over the weekend.

Yep, it is up. And it's only going to get more expansive throughout the next month.

What, your decorations?

Yeah, I'm going to add more to the house. I'm going to add some cranberry sprays to, like, the centerpiece of my dining room table. I got some light-up trees, like some really beautiful new little ones, you know, for, like, decor. I'm going to put some balls, some, like, light-up balls in the front yard. And I think I'm going to make a Hanukkah bush this year. Wow.

Wow.

You have a lot to do, so I understand why you've started early.

Thank you.

We really just skip right over Thanksgiving. That's right.

The more cheer, the better.

Yeah, you're not alone.

I saw a lot of people getting into the Christmas spirit. The Halloween decorations.

Put away. The jolly spirit put up.

Yep.

How was Halloween?

Great.

Halloween was canceled this year for us. I needed to remain in bed this weekend, so we did not get to wear our Justin Bieber and Billie Eilish costume, which I know.

Who was who?

Robbie was going to be Justin Bieber and I was going to be Billie Eilish. You just never know with them. So we were thinking about putting them on and taking pictures and posting them later this week, but I'm like, I think it's passed.

Yeah. I mean, maybe it could just be a random skit. Yeah. Random content you throw up.

I know.

When you have the capacity. Yeah.

To like really get into character. But it was really nice. I did a lot. I did a lot of watching television, which we'll get into in a little bit.

It is sad, though, that you finally get Halloween on a Saturday, which is rare. And then it rained.

Yeah, but I heard it rained just like it just was like a little sprinkle, sprinkle.

Well, it depends on where you were.

We got some decent rain out in Ventura County.

Oh, yeah.

We didn't really get much rain. We got a little sprinkle-sprinkle by me.

Yeah.

It was, I would say, an annoying amount, like trying to trick-or-treat.

Yeah, trick-or-treating. But I do think you trick-or-treat earlier. I think the rain came around like 8.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. For the little kids. They were out and about.

How was your Halloween? How was your birthday weekend?

Oh, my gosh.

I had the best weekend of my birth, celebrating my birth.

We decided so originally.

We were going to go to Hawaii and then our hotel basically let us know that there was going to be a tropical storm and we should rebook or like move our dates. But if we moved our dates, we'd only have about three days. And it's such a long trip that we're like, let's just cancel and pivot. um and so we ended up going up to the Napa Valley area and we decided to just drive because I the thought of I had just gotten back from Rhode Island and the thought of getting on another plane I was like relieved to not have to do that but then so we drove up on Wednesday and around hour four we kind of looked at each other and we were like we'll fly next time yeah like a road trip is so fun but there is a certain point where.

The fun stops.

Yeah and you're like just that's our four but i do love.

The idea of not having to consolidate so much i was just like oh i'll throw that in the car i'll throw that in the car and you can't.

Do that when you're flying robbie does the same thing whenever we go to mammoth he's just like who cares baby like don't think about it we just throw it in the car and then like the car is overflowing and i'm like no we need to consolidate this is absolutely crazy No.

I had like last minute, I was like, oh, I didn't pack a pair of slip-on shoes. Throw them in the car.

Didn't have to undo my suitcase or anything. So I did like that aspect of it. But we went up and Thursday, it was just so relaxing. And the place where we stayed, we had basically, it was individualized cottages. And so we had our own like wood-burning fireplace. And it was very spacious and felt very cozy. And normally on my birthday, I do a trip. with a bunch of my friends. And so I'm always kind of like, okay, I want it to be worth everyone's time who, you know, paid to come out here for us to be doing stuff and not just lay around the house. But, um, because it was my birthday and it was just me and Haley, I did nothing. I slept, we slept in, she decorated the room for me and had like balloons

and a little sign for me that said happy birthday. And then I did a puzzle and then we did like, We did room service.

Puzzle.

That sounds lovely. What kind of puzzle was it?

Oh my gosh. Just a 500 piece. Like a jigsaw puzzle.

Oh, that's great.

I love puzzles. This is 38.

Yeah.

You know, but I, I just, it was so, I felt like my body just was so calm and relaxed.

It was so nice.

And Haley also has a hard time relaxing and she was able to, just because she was like, I, it's your.

Birthday, so I have to do whatever you want. You know, it was nice. Felt powerful.

I love relaxing. It's just the delay.

We love delay.

Nothing I dislike more than going on vacation with somebody that needs to have like an agenda. Like that's my worst nightmare. Going on a vacation with someone that's like, okay, we have breakfast booked at 10. We're going to tour this museum at noon. Then we're going to go see the whatever at four. And then we have dinner at seven.

Same.

I would be miserable.

Well, so we, Haley- Oh, my birthday.

She was like, do you want to go and go to a winery and do lunch out there and stuff? And I'm like, I don't want to leave the premises. I want to stay on the grounds. I want to take a little walk because it was really pretty and the trees are really pretty. And then I want to have, we called it BLD, breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the resort. Nice.

We did everything. It was so nice. And we had the best time.

So it was much needed and a very lovely way to bring in year or to start year 39.

Oh, my gosh.

That's how it works. And then we're all going to celebrate together this Friday.

Oh, yeah.

And then I get to celebrate this. It's just so fun. I just feel... You know what I felt very much this year was I felt very... I had so... I felt.

So loved this year. Like, I felt the texts and messages I.

Got and just the thoughtfulness.

Who did you feel the most loved?

Like, Haley, you mean?

Oh, you.

Yeah.

Tanya and Robbie, they sent me a cake to my room.

It was just... I felt very.

seen and cared for and like the messages I got were so thoughtful and it wasn't just like a happy birthday love you you know it was like a very intentional text and I didn't realize how much that meant to me but I felt very I just was I felt very surrounded in love and just like gratitude and it was such a nice way to start start this next year of life wow and now I get to celebrate this week with with everyone So the party keeps going.

Party continues. Party rock nation.

Yeah.

So I didn't leave my bed. And, you know, with that task, you think to yourself, like, what can I watch this weekend?

You know, like, Is that not every weekend?

No, because usually when we have the kids, we're like doing all the activities. When we don't have the kids, we're like making time to like see our friends and hang out with our friends. So like, we don't really have a lot of free time on the weekends. We do at night. Like we have our shows that we watch at night, but like, that's usually our like survivor, the traders chopped, you know, we have like, you went out of the usual this weekend. So I go, everybody raves about the diplomat. Like, Everybody in my life is obsessed with The Diplomat. It won all these awards. It's Keri Russell, who I love. And Robbie and I were like, we're going to get into it. Like, we watched the first episode and we were just like, what the hell

is going on?

Like, no.

And like, so this weekend we were like, we're going to power through. We're going to sit down and we're going to give it a really fair shot. Okay. So we're sitting down. We rewatched the first episode. So I've seen the first episode twice. The second time didn't hit different. I was still left being like, what the hell is going on? Second episode, I was like, okay, maybe I can kind of like get into this. Like, okay, they're going through a divorce, but they can't get divorced because she's going to be the vice president.

Like, oh, okay.

And then that just disappeared. So we're on episode four and I'm.

Like, you have no idea what's happening.

We're not into it at all.

And I'm texting all my friends that like say that they're obsessed with the show. And I'm like, what episode do you get into? Like what episode turns you on? Do you know what I mean? Like when do you like get fired up? And they were like season one, episode one. And I was like, well, I'm screwed. So I really gave it. I, I'm not going to get, we're not giving up yet, but, But we're really close.

I'm like, am I too dumb for this show?

I'm with you on this.

Are we too dumb for this show?

I consider myself a pretty bright guy.

I do.

I think I'm a smart guy.

I consider myself a pretty bright guy.

So I said, Dawn, watch The Diplomat. Amos and I. And we got through the first one. I'm like, and she's like, wait, what, what, who's this? And I said, I don't know. I don't know who that is. I don't know how they know each other. I don't know.

I don't know what they're talking about.

Yes.

Literally.

There's like no context. They just throw you into like Iran.

The whole episode, we're asking each other, wait, what's going on here? And the other one's like, I have no idea. So we watched one and we were done.

Yeah.

I was like, damn, like we really like, we gave it, gave it a really solid effort. And then we were like, Love is blind.

Well, that's the other extreme.

I love the diplomat.

There's got to be something in between that's like in our wheelhouse. You like the diplomat?

Yeah, I thought it was amazing.

When did it turn you on?

Pretty much instantly.

There's no way.

Yeah, that was like one of the few series that I was like locked in on.

So you're caught up. You have to watch, is it season four?

We're on the, yeah, we're on the newest season.

So basically if I'm on episode four.

I'm just kidding.

Oh.

I was like, if we're on episode four and we're you idiots.

What are you not getting?

Well, it's a popular show.

It's so popular.

Maybe everyone's just pretending to act like they're highbrow and intelligent.

I don't think so.

I think people like that show.

Yes.

I don't think you go three seasons, four seasons deep if you're just pretending.

I agree.

No, you're right.

But I'm like, I want to get into it so bad. Just keep going.

Maybe it'll click.

What?

Maybe it'll click.

Maybe it'll click.

I don't know.

Four episodes seems like a lot.

I'm a little concerned that Mark can't get into it, that it might be time to move on for you.

Robbie either. Yeah.

Well, that's, I mean, Robbie's an attorney.

Yeah.

He's got to be smarter than all of us.

You've exposed him to too much reality TV.

And we both look at each other and we're like, love is blind?

All the Love Island you're showing him is really, he's lost brain cells from it. Yeah.

It's like, well, the thing is right now, like, uh, I just want like easy TV, like easy, light, happy. I don't want anything that's intense. So like, we can't, I don't want to start lioness. Cause everybody says that that's like very intense. And then like, there's other, so then we find this show.

Okay.

That we like and we're into it and we're like yes we found a good it's there's a little bit of mystery a little bit of drama a little bit of funny it's like a really good show and we're stoked it's connie britain and um oh yeah the fake yeah yeah yeah so we're stoked we're like so into it and uh we're like yeah we have our show and then we get to episode three and it's like Next episode, November.

Oh, it's a weekly release. I love a weekly release, but not good for a day in bed of binging.

Not good for a binge weekend. But it's good. It's very good.

Yeah.

It's very good.

I was curious about that one. So that was a little bit disappointing.

But I will say in our defense and your defense. The Americans, that's a complicated show. Loved it.

Loved the Americans. I could follow the Americans.

There's lots of shows like Spy, like Alias. What a great show that was. I was way into it. There's Spy stuff I can get into.

Yes.

Oh, it's Spy? She's a spy?

I don't know.

No, she's a diplomat.

She's a diplomat, yeah. So it's not Spy stuff.

It's hard to say who she is or what she is.

I don't get it.

A few episodes in.

Political stuff west wing we loved i don't know.

Yeah house of cards that's a great example yes but this one's like so hard and i'm just like dang.

I'm not giving up well i appreciate your tenacity because i'm pretty i'm pretty like i'll give it an episode or two but Then I'm out.

Schitt's Creek took me a minute to get into it.

The flow.

The flow, their comedic timing. It took me a couple episodes. So I was like, maybe the diplomat's the same.

Yeah. You're not getting the humor.

You're missing the humor.

Oh, man.

Are you a pro time change? What do you think about this time change? Are y'all into the daylight savings time?

I like this one.

I love both of them. I find them very exciting.

You find them very timely.

I like them because both of them make you go, whoa, five o'clock, it's dark already?

Whoa.

And then in the spring, it's like, whoa, seven o'clock, look how light out it is. I like things that just kind of change up your life a little bit. And I like that. And now days are shorter. That means Christmas lights going up soon. I love them both, but this one's great.

I like this one because I feel like I'm like more well rested. I woke up before my alarm this morning.

Like, yeah.

So I just feel.

Oh, yeah, I do, too. I was like, I'm so spring chicken. Mark, I was early today.

You were?

Yeah.

Kelty still beat me.

I was going to say, the guest was here.

I know, but she got here at 1240. Yeah, she was 20 minutes early.

I got here at 1245 for your own podcast.

You're right.

That doesn't feel crazy to me.

Like, what am I just going to sit.

Here while y'all are in your meeting?

Yeah, do some prep. That's what I do with the morning show. I'm always here half an hour before.

And that's great for you. Why prep here when I could prep at home? Listening to her podcast episode.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you like this?

You don't like this time change?

I love the sleep feeling.

Like, I love feeling more rested, but I don't like it getting dark so early.

Oh, it makes me turn into a hibernation queen.

Yeah, winter mode.

But it makes me not want to do anything.

You don't want to get dinner with me?

No, thanks. Okay, wait.

I don't want to be on the road when it's dark out.

Yeah.

No, my, the lights are starting to get too glary for me or something with turning 38.

But last night we went Haley's family friend.

Um, they had a memorial like celebration of life for her and she was like a legend in the ice skating world. And so they had to add an ice skating rink in Santa Monica. And so I went and Haley's mom is like a iconic, legendary ice skating choreographer. She was in the Ice Capades, and she did the I, Tonya ice skating, Blades of Glory.

Like, she's a legend.

And so Haley, growing up, she was at the ice skating rink her whole life. And so when she talks about it, she's always talking about how she was a.

Pretty good ice skater. But we've been together for eight years, and we've never been ice skating together.

That's crazy to me.

Yeah, it's just never been... We've never done it.

They have like rinks. Rinks?

Rinks.

All over LA.

They sure do. And we've never been.

And so last night, after they did the speeches and everything, they opened the ice skating rink. And I was like, okay, I've maybe been ice skating four times in my life. It's just not something I grew up doing at all. And so I go out and I don't fall or anything, but I'm a little bit wobbly, you know, not confident.

Haley comes out and does this like triple spin.

And I was like, whoa, my ego, because I'm always the athlete, you know, our relationship.

I'm like the athletic one. And I was like, whoa, you're really good.

Like the whole family, they were skating backwards, doing tricks and routines.

And I was like, wow. Good to know. Got to up my game. So I'm going to buy some skates and.

Make it your new thing.

They said the rentals weren't as good as having, like, sharp blades.

They're making, like, in downtown and at, like, LA Live, they're making, like, a whole village during the holidays. Like, a whole, like, ice skating, like, village.

At LA Live?

Yeah.

Didn't they do that for iHeart? Jingle Ball one time we had that.

Yeah, they have a rink. There's always been, like, a rink there. Yeah. But now they're making, like, a whole, like, thing.

Wow.

Yeah. So.

We should go. For your enjoyment.

We should all go.

I'm terrible at ice skating. Great.

We'll be together.

And I don't know if Robbie's any good, but he can go do circles with Haley.

I think he's pretty, like, not bad. Yeah.

He's giving.

Athlete.

He picks it up easy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Anyway, so that was a surprise last night. Humbling moment, which I feel challenged by.

Something happened to me about an hour ago, two hours ago to be exact. That has been stressing me out ever since. And I need Mark to Google it during, are we going to take a quick break?

Yes, we are.

Because I'm still stressed about it. I can't stop thinking about it.

We'll be right back.

We're back.

We're back. So about two hours ago, to be exact, I, my breath was stale and I'm not a big gum chewer. I don't really chew gum that much because there's like all these chemicals in it and I'm just like, makes me gassy and I just don't like it. But when I need a little refresh with my breath, I'll chew it just for like a little bit and spit it out.

So I just put a fresh piece of gum in my mouth. And for some crazy reason, I don't even know how it happened. It literally went down my throat. It went down my throat. I swallowed a piece of gum and I'm like freaking out about it now.

I looked it up.

Okay.

It's going to clog your kidneys and you should probably go to the emergency room.

Seriously?

No.

Your body cannot break down what makes up the gum base. That is true. However, it'll move through your digestive tract just like other indigestible items like corn kernels or seeds or fiber.

I'll be on the lookout for that.

Pass it through your system and out of your body in your stool within a few days.

A few days.

I feel the winter fresh in my body right now.

I'm not even kidding.

I feel it in my throat and I feel it in my esophagus. The winter fresh mint is going through my body.

I think you have to remember your mind is very powerful. And I don't think you're physically feeling it. I think your brain just knows it's there.

No, there's a chill going down my body right now.

If you swallowed large amounts of gum.

Yeah, it was large.

Or had a small digestive, like intestinal blockage you could get if you're like a small child and a large wad of gum. But you'll be fine.

For sure?

I mean, there's really no evidence that it's going to harm you in any way.

Okay. Can you rest easy?

I can now. I haven't had a minute to like research it. And I've just been like thinking about it in the back of my head for the last two hours. It's a lot.

It's a lot what your brain goes through.

It is a lot. Speaking of being a lot, so my new vet that I have is like she's like where our kids go to the same school. So she's like kind of, you know, friendly.

A family friend.

Well, she's friends with, like, one of my friends, mom friends. Anyway, so she's, like, more than a vet, you know. She's, like, one step closer. And she gave me her cell phone number. And I don't know what's going on with Sunny right now, but the girl needs some attention. And she had diarrhea earlier.

Every two hours, one night. Like, she was up. She was knocking on her crate at 9 p.m., 11 p.m., 1 a.m., 4 a.m. Like, she was, like, clockwork, just, like, going out to have diarrhea. And this was one night. And then she was, like, totally fine the next day. And then, again, the next night comes and the same thing happens. And I'm, like, I cannot go another, like, sleepless night like this.

And....

Robbie's like, you can't text the vet again. Like we already just went through the whole kidney thing with her. Like I know she says you can text her whatever you need, but like it's Halloween. Like you cannot text her. And I did on Halloween.

You said, forget your advice. I'm doing what I want.

Yes.

And I'm so pissed that I did because at the end of the day, we just had to take her in to whoever was there. She wasn't there, but she was like, can you take her in? Yeah, of course. And we took her in and the vet that's on call like saw her and did all the things. And now I like regret it so much because now not only did I bother her on a Saturday, I bothered her on a Saturday that's Halloween. And she couldn't even help.

She was off.

You kind of blown it with her now.

Yeah.

Now I cannot. Like I cannot. Even though she was super sweet and she responded and like she was responsive. But I'm like now I've blown my wad. on something that wasn't super, she has pancreatitis, which sounds really bad, but apparently like a lot of dogs get it. Um, and we just got some meds and she's fine, but like I blew my wad on something that was not an emergency and now I'm pissed.

Yeah. So what do you, what did you learn from this? To listen to Robbie.

Damn.

Robbie knows best.

He's pretty logical.

He is pretty logical.

I know it bugs you, but he's pretty like a neutral, neutral perspective.

I learned it the hard way. I'm so upset.

You just got to lay low.

The amount of.

Photos I've sent her in the past month, like you would die.

Yeah, I bet I would be uncomfortable.

Look, she's shaking. Here's video of it.

Tanya.

Oh my gosh. Yeah, you got to lay low for a bit. I got to lay low.

So anyways, it's a little bit about me.

So you have some issues with Dan Reynolds and his, I'm guessing, dating life right now because on our rundown it says Dan Reynolds giving Tanya the ick.

What's that all about?

So like, I don't know if you know this about me, but I used to, Mark, I'm going to need a little Google search.

Happy to do it.

Dan Reynolds was married for a long time and he has a lot of kids, right? I was under this impression for many, many years. Like I thought Dan Reynolds like was it. Like I was like, that's who you want to marry.

He's the lead singer of Imagine Dragons, is that who he is?

Yeah.

He was married. He and Asia Volkman married in 2011. They have four children together, three daughters and a son.

And then they divorced when?

They separated in 2018. They got back together. They split again in 22, and they officially divorced in 24.

In 2018, when they, like, kind of broke up over that, I think I tried to, like, date him or something. Like, I was like, I think this is my guy.

What effort did you put into that?

I think I maybe DM'd him or something.

Oh, yeah. Can you actually look and see if you have a DM with Dan Reynolds?

I specifically remember their split, too, but I'm trying to remember why it impacted me so much because.

I wasn't like a huge.

Imagine Dragons fan, so I don't know why I felt so connected and sad about it.

Nothing.

No.

You mentioned Dan Reynolds in your story. That's all I got.

Probably you were like, was that 2018?

Are you single? I'm single. We should date.

Yeah, it was in 2018.

Yeah, there may be a public story.

But anyway, yeah, there might be something there where I was like, I feel like I put him on my vision board at some point because I was like, this guy is like, this is it. He's an amazing, he's an artist. He loves what he does. He's good at what he does. He's a family man. He loves his kids. He's like a good husband. Like I just thought that he was like it. Okay. Now he breaks up with Minka Kelly after four years and he's off with Chantel Jeffries the next weekend. And then he's holding hands with Sophia Vergara out to dinner at some like restaurant. Like it gives me the ick. Like he has officially given me the ick now. And like it's because it's giving f * * * boys. And that's not what I thought of him.

It's not just like single and dating?

There's a time and a place, Becca. You just broke up with somebody that you were dating for four years.

Publicly, though, do we know how long? I don't care.

Publicly and not privately, whatever. Us, the public, have just learned of your separation.

And it's our business how you move forward.

It is our business. And the way that you move after you make things public is important. And I just fear that he's doing it because if he's turning me off, imagine how many other people he's turning off.

Yeah.

I don't know that many people are thinking about it that much, but I think a lot of people are.

Not a lot of married women are.

What?

Not a lot of married women probably are thinking about it like this.

I think a lot of married women are thinking about Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons.

Yeah. He's a really good looking guy.

He is a good looking guy, but is he a good guy?

I don't know him. I don't know. I can't make that assumption.

No, and then I saw actually the Lady Gang post something, and I feel like Becca Tobin said he's like notoriously not. And so then I was shook even more to my core. So I just feel like I.

You're very deceived by an image.

Yes.

A family photo. It's all you need.

All I need.

Poor kids. To stamp the husband.

Devoted husband.

Dream husband on there.

Yeah.

Well.

I don't know what to say.

I haven't thought about him enough to feel the ick or have any really strong opinion on it. But I hope that if he is doing it the wrong way, that the women can recognize that.

I just feel like if I were Minka Kelly, I don't know. We don't know how they broke up, why they broke up. None of that's public. But if I'm Minka Kelly and I'm watching the way he's moving after this breakup, I'm kind of just like, bye.

Wait, we also, speaking of breakups, G-Flip and Chrishell, which felt like a... Out of nowhere for me personally. Shook.

I've been seeing a lot of theories.

What are the theories?

One of the theories was that they lived far apart from each other. I didn't realize G Flip lived in Australia and Chrishell lives here.

Yeah, but I don't know because there was a time I think where G lived with they lived together, but I don't know if G Flip went on tour and that was why they were in Australia so much.

And then I heard the age difference was a factor. Which, I mean, they're like 10 years apart, so that doesn't seem like that big of an age difference.

But they were always 10 years apart, so I don't know why that would all of a sudden become an issue.

I'm just telling you what I saw online.

I basically saw that someone reported that G just lost the romantic feelings for Kershaw.

I know.

How does that happen?

I don't know.

Can that happen just like that? Apparently.

What?

Yeah.

There's no, we can never be too comfortable.

Well, no, you can't do that when you're married.

I mean, I don't know. I lost that.

Loving feeling to you? Okay, well, we're married, so buckle up and get that loving feeling back.

No?

Anybody?

No, I mean, I would like to think that if I was in that position that we would do the work to try to reestablish the relationship romance but not everyone can get back to it I guess but that was just a headline I saw but I love Chrishell and I love G Flip but I love Chrishell and she's so warm and so nice and I just her video made me so sad.

Also very interesting that she posted a video, G Flip posted a.

But I think that's just a personality.

I mean, I think that represents both of them in how they live their life, especially publicly. Like, Michelle's very open and honest and, like, wears her heart on her sleeve. And I felt like that video was very her. And I felt like G Flip doing a, like, written text felt very them.

I do feel like this kind of reminds me of... Sophia Bush got, like, a lot of backlash on her Call Her Daddy episode because they basically were saying, like, if you're married and you're not happy, like you can always do better. Like you can always do better. And like, they got annihilated for those comments. And I'm like, I feel like out of context, I get it. Cause I'm like, when you're married, you should be focused on your marriage and you're going to have tough times and you shouldn't just be like onto the next, like, let me find something better. You know what I mean? Like that's what marriage is. You work through things, you like try to get to the other side. But I feel like, I would think the point that they were trying to make

was if you're in like a very terrible marriage with like a narcissist or somebody and you feel like you can't get out, they make you feel like you can't do better. Like you can and you should get out.

Right.

I don't think that they were trying to say like, if you have a fight with somebody, you can do better. You know what I mean?

Right.

No, I, but I do think there's a lot of, um, I think there used to be a lot more sanctity in marriage of like making that commitment and deciding like even if things get hard or things aren't what they once were that we work through it together and try our best to get to the other side and if we don't then we have to make that decision but I think now it's kind of like oh if it gets hard life is short.

You don't have to it doesn't have to be hard but it's kind of like to each his own because you don't know what people are navigating in their relationships I think that's the thing it's like something from the outside can look so shiny and great and pretty and on the inside it's tumultuous or you're crying every day, you know, but I think that it's, no one knows the ins and outs of someone's personal relationship, but one podcast clip can really change the trajectory of how people view you.

Not scary.

Yeah.

But I'm like, I, when I watched the clip, I was like, I get it. They're making marriage seem like very disposable, disposable, which is like not nice.

Well, no.

And not nice for the ex-partners who maybe didn't view it so casually.

Yeah, yeah.

Right.

Um.

What was the controversy about Paris Hilton being Belle? Because I missed it.

Oh, you didn't see this? Oh, my gosh. The internet was... Okay, hold on. I'll find you the photo.

A gas?

It's so Paris Hilton to me.

Okay.

Okay, Mark. You're part of the problem.

Okay?

Mark?

So, hold on. Paris Hilton posted this picture for Halloween, her costume with her family. And it was her... Here, I'll put it so that the listeners can see. Crystal, make a nice edit of that. It is Paris as Belle, her husband as the Beast, and then her kids were like the Cup, Chip, and Gaston, or what's the candle?

The candle is Lumiere.

Lumiere. Lumiere.

Lumiere.

And Chip.

Like, the kids were like.

Yeah, the Cup.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And they were like, why did you not make your daughter Belle? Like, your daughter should have been Belle. Like that's like what you.

Do when you have kids I didn't even think of it So.

That's like what people were pissed at And Mark is agreeing.

With the people I agree 100% Hold on, before you get on your soapbox When my daughter was Three She was Snow White So I was Prince Charming My wife was I believe Doc And our other daughter who was a baby at the time Was Dopey Cute, adorable What a cute family costume.

So cute. But guess what?

Yeah.

Mark.

Yes.

And all the haters out there.

Yeah, hating.

Her daughter wanted to be Chip. She said that that's what she wanted. So they all did this whole.

Sure, that's the spin she puts on it because you have to do that.

You think she's lying?

That's what I think, yeah. Oh, really? I do think that, yes.

I was like, oh my God, the daughter wanted to be Chip. So they just planned this whole costume so that the daughter could be Chip.

But look at that photo. Look at the photo. The photo is Paris Hilton. It's not the family. They're like her supporting act. The beast is kneeling, holding her hand. The other two are at her feet.

There she is.

Yeah.

You think she's lying?

I think that is life in the Hilton family.

Oh, my gosh. I'm shook.

I think she needs constant attention.

There's a lot of pictures of her, yeah. In the carousel.

That's a big gown.

Yeah. I totally see the back. I see people's problem with it, and I also love it. Because it's Paris Hilton, there's something so unapologetically her about it. Just because I have kids doesn't mean I change who I am, which is being the star.

That's right.

And I would give anything to be able to watch The Simple Life again in.

All its glory.

Can't you watch it?

Yeah, but for the first time.

Oh.

Because I see clips and I'm like, it was so, they could never do that today.

I don't think I ever watched that show.

Oh my God, I'm so jealous.

You should watch it. That's a great TV binge.

Really?

And dumb enough for me?

Beyond.

You'll feel like a scientist watching it.

Oh wow, that's what I need.

Okay, Dancing with the Stars last week, they did the Halloween. Did you watch?

Yes, I did watch.

Okay, it was amazing.

It was amazing. There was something that I was trying to point out to you now that it's agassing me. Agassing. escaping me. I loved Shirley Ballas. I loved her judging. Everybody's like, she's so harsh. I'm like, she's actually right.

She's like the Simon Cowell, you know, it was like, you kind of want, she was what Lynn Goodman used to be on the show who was like the critical, you know, perfectionist.

She was right.

Like Julia Stiles was a four. And all the other dancers are like, eight. I'm like, eight?

That's crazy.

Yeah. I think Julia might be the next to go is my prediction.

She doesn't move me. Like, she's not moving anything in me. And I think— And at this point, everybody else is. Yeah.

I would say I.

Was shocked by how good Connor was because it went from him— really, you could feel that he was very much a work in progress. Like, you could feel that in his dance— And this made him look, the way she choreographed, Riley choreographed, it made him look like a professional dancer. Yeah.

He literally went from like bottom to top. Like talk about, and this is the thing that I found, again, as a first time season viewer, I found very interesting because when you're shot out of the gate and you're really good, like you have so much, so much expectation on you. Whereas like when you start off bad, you can only get better.

Right.

And everybody was saying this last week was Connor's like best performance yet. And it was Ezra's worst performance.

But Ezra was injured.

I know, but I'm just saying, like, that's what's so hard when you're, like, so good in the beginning is, like, you can't just be amazing every single week, you know? It's going to kind of, like, ebb and flow.

Well, that's the fun of watching the different levels of dancing to see, like, who shines and who maintains that and then who climbs.

Who shines and who climbs.

Wow.

Such is life, right? Such is life.

But Dancing with the Stars is actually on tonight, so.

Oh, yeah.

Oh, it is tonight.

They moved it for the election.

And it's Disney night.

It is Disney night, yeah.

Speaking of election, everyone go vote. Make sure you go vote if you're able to vote. It's very important.

And yeah, Disney night tonight is we have Amber and Pasha.

They're dancing to A Star is Born, Hercules. I love that.

Cute.

Connor and Riley, I See the Light Tangled, love. Ezra and Daniela, Under the Sea, The Little Mermaid. Harry and Jenna, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, Mary Poppins.

Fun. Sounds fast.

Yeah.

Jenna and Val be our guests, Beauty and the Beast. I imagine she'll be Belle.

Yeah.

Julia and Ezra, satisfied, Hercules. I don't know if I know that. Maura and Mark are doing You Can Fly, Peter Pan.

Cute.

And Tatiana and Jan are easy as life. Don't know that one either.

Aida?

Yeah, I don't know that.

What's Aida?

Yeah.

Aida?

Aida?

Aida. I believe it's an opera.

Yeah, I think it's like an opera.

Oh, I don't know it. I'm not sure how it qualifies as a Disney production, but.

Maybe it is.

Maybe Disney made it.

Yeah.

They must have.

So who do you think?

Because Tyler and Jackson went home last week, and Tyler was mad. No.

Aida is a Broadway musical by Elton John and Tim Rice. It was produced by Disney's theatrical licensing. There you go.

You know what I feel like when you go on Dancing with the Stars? I could never go on Dancing with the Stars for many reasons, but one of them being I could not handle the criticism and the critiques. Like if people were giving me fours and I tried my hardest after a week of training, I would cry like a little baby. Like I would be so devastated. Yes, I know. I can't handle it. But I think being on that show, you have to like put on– a good face and, like, take it with a grain of salt.

And I just feel like the way Tyler handled it last week, like, really made him look bad.

Yeah, I think it wasn't a good look, but I don't... I mean, it's like, he's competitive, and I think just, like, the worst part of being a competitive person came out in that moment.

I mean, it didn't look good, but I'm also, like.

It gave me the ick.

People trying to... You're very sensitive. You're very sensitive to the ick right now.

I'm very sensitive.

It takes very little.

I have a lot of hormones raging in me right now. One wrong move. The ick is thick.

Yeah.

You better text Robbie and tell him.

Is Robbie safe? Should I check on him?

No, he's ick free at the moment, but like.

What could, at home, what could cause an ick? I don't know. At the drop of a hat.

I don't know. Many things. Cause like truly, like I saw Tyler give that little tantrum and I was like, bye. Like, no.

Dang. No one's safe. No one's safe. No men are safe.

No.

Yeah. I haven't really gotten the ick from any women as of late.

That's good. I'll steer clear.

I'll be steering clear. But I would love to see Connor Wood. Connor, what's his last name? Wood?

Connor Wood.

Yeah. In the finals.

I know.

I really like him. I really would.

Yeah, me too.

You really would?

I really would.

Nice.

Okay, we have a Dear Banya.

Oh, no, I was thinking we could play a little game. Don't say the same thing.

Okay, well, that goes quick for us.

It really does. That is a 10-second game. It's really a 30-second game even if you win. It's a quickie.

Yeah, so we'll do a game.

Maybe we could do two.

We'll do the game, and then we'll do a Dear Banya email, and we'll.

Be right back. Great. We're back.

I didn't even try.

Here we go.

Oh, is this? Don't say the same thing.

Yes, this is it.

Okay.

We've never made it all the way through without controversy. There are 10 of them. You have to try not to say the same thing. If you do say the same thing, the game is over and you lose. You also have to say something that fits the category. You cannot say porcupine for a sea creature.

Porcupine fish.

That's not what you were thinking.

Yeah, it is.

Here we go.

Ready? Yes, ready, ready.

Insect. Three, two, one.

Tarantula.

Olympic sport. Three, two, one.

Skiing.

What did you say?

Skiing.

You said bowling?

Is that an Olympic sport?

I don't think that is. But I'm going to do a little check.

I'm sorry.

Bowling?

I don't know. Running?

Bowling is not an Olympic sport. It almost was in 2020. It did not make the cut.

Oh, my God. I was watching them debate, and I thought I had made it.

I'm sorry. This game is over.

Gymnastics. I know.

I know.

I don't know why. Diving.

I was not prepared. Bowling. Mark, one more.

What do you mean one more?

One more.

You play it once a week and it's exciting. Now all this grow. Next week. I can't wait to hear it next week.

Please.

We can do it, but it doesn't count. Maybe it doesn't count.

It sure does count.

No, it doesn't count until next week. So let's go on to a Dear Banya.

No, Mark.

How is it?

It's so fun for me. Becca ruined it.

It was really fun next week. Oh, my God.

You did Porcupine last week.

Yeah, you ruined that one.

And we continued on. Come on.

Here we go.

Dear Banya.

I'm 41.

I'm single.

Marcus gave me the ick.

Oh, no. Then I.

I have a list right here.

You want to do with you and Mark? You want to try with Mark?

Yes.

Yeah, let's try that, Mark.

Wait, what are we doing?

Yeah, yeah, Becca, take.

The damn hands from the man. Wait, you got to quit looking at it.

But isn't the idea that you two are like besties?

Well, we didn't make it, though, so we're going to try with y'all. All right.

I mean, I made these categories. I'm not looking at it, but I made them.

I'm not going in the order, so how about that?

All right.

All right.

Don't say the same thing challenge featuring Tanya and Mark.

As I've been disqualified. Okay. Types of cheese. Three, two, one.

Mozzarella.

Wow.

Pizza chain. Three, two, one.

Pizza Hut.

I color. Three, two, one.

Hazel.

Tough, huh?

Yeah, because we're both trying to go, we're both trying to zig instead of zag and not go blue, brown, green.

Damn. I tried to give you another chance.

Okay, we can do deer bun, you know.

I'm 41. I'm single, and I cannot stop talking to my ex. I text her. I ask her for medical advice. She's a nurse. We hang out together, and we still say I love you every time. My friends despise her. Not only did she leave me after seven and a half years for the woman she was cheating on me with, they believe she is selfish, manipulative, and toxic. I was heartbroken, but even after I first found out about the infidelity, we continued to talk. Here's the thing. She has a son that I helped raise during his most pivotal years, and I consider my own. He's about to turn 23, and as a precious baby girl, I consider them family.

I don't want that to change, and I'm worried it will change if I cut ties with the mom. My questions. Should I continue talking with her? How would I even begin to stop? And if I do, what would I say to her?

I think you know the answer to these questions.

Yeah, this is feeling.

I don't think.

Well, first of all, I think out of respect for yourself and her not being loyal and apparently not being a good person according to your friends, I think you should stop talking to her for that reason alone. But then on top of that, if she has a partner, y'all shouldn't be talking out of respect for the partner, right?

That she chose in the split. So I think you need to have enough self-worth to know that this person is not someone who adds to your life and actually sounds like they did something, like the worst thing you could do to a person.

And what?

No, you're right. Like, she cheated on you, but she's still saying I love you.

So she is.

manipulative and toxic and selfish like she is all of those things.

She's in a relationship with someone and still talking to her ex saying i.

Love you yeah And she cheated on you.

With that person.

With that person. And she's still saying, I love you. Like, she's trying to, like, gaslight you, mind manipulate you. It's all very bad. Like, this person you need to be far away from. You need to block.

You need to, like, totally remove her from any social... Like, anywhere where you would see her and can avoid her.

I think.

I think this person is, like, poison in your life, really. And I think, you know, her son... being 23, I think he can make a decision to have a relationship with you, but I don't think it's, I don't think it benefits you. I think you are using the relationship with the son and the baby as a way to stay in the relationship as an excuse.

A hundred percent. I don't know why you want to stay in this relationship. This is so toxic. It's so bad. You absolutely need to like get out. And I do think if you were a part of her son's life for so long, you will still always be a part of his life. It may not look the same way that it has while you guys were dating. Of course it's going to change and maybe you don't talk to him as much, but I think if you still want to have a relationship with him and his baby girl, um, I think that you can still have that. I mean, I think I'm, I don't think about that, but I'm like, you know, I have two stepkids. If something, you know, if Robbie and I, something happened, I would still want to have a relationship. Um, with them no matter what.

It might look different, you know, but like you're with those kids while they're growing up and you're a big part of that. So it's like, I do think that you can still maintain some sort of a relationship with him, just not maybe the way that it has been, which is fine. And it should be that way.

And I don't think you owe any explanation as to why you stopped talking to her. But if you, if you need that, I think you need to say, Hey, I, I, realize this is not healthy for me to continue for us to be talking you're in a relationship you cheated on me and you're not adding to my life at this point and it's just holding me back and so I need to move on and that might include that includes us not speaking or having any interaction yeah.

If you need us to tell you exactly what to say you can say dear blank This is not, this relationship is not working for me anymore. It's very toxic. It's not leading me in a good direction. I do not want to be a part of it anymore. I do not want to see you. I do not want to speak to you. Please respect that and respect me.

I don't think this person is respectful. So that's asking a lot. I think you just need to see that she did not think you were worth anything.

Being loyal to and also trying to stay in the relationship and make it work even after she cheated on you. And so you, she's not going to see your worthiness. She already has shown you that she doesn't. So you're going to have to be the person who sees your worth and it's going to be really hard and it's going to suck, but I think it's going to be the best thing that you can do for yourself.

Amen.

But I'm sorry you're navigating this, but she sounds bad news bears.

Yeah, cheaters suck.

She's gotta go. She's gotta go.

Okay.

And with that, so do we, actually. We gotta go.

We gotta go.

It's gonna be dark by the time we leave.

Oh my gosh, it's getting dark outside.

And I cannot be on the roads.

In the eve.

In the eve.

That's all for now, everybody. We love you so much. Have a... Wonderful week.

Yeah.

Please come back on Thursday with our guest Kelty Knight. She's going to be here promoting her book. I'm sure you've heard about it. It's called The F Them Theory.

Yeah.

We talk about so much. We talk about her book, but so much just because we haven't seen her in a long time and caught up with her.

So it's a really good episode.

Yeah.

It's long. Girthy. And we can't wait for you to listen. So we love you so much.

Love you.

Bye.

Bye.
