Shownotes

Today's biggest gainers and decliners in the stock market.

On this episode of Stock Movers:

- Boeing (BA) cut its full-year aircraft delivery target and said it needs more time to accommodate higher production rates, a surprise reversal that sent the stock tumbling to an 18-month low. The shares dropped as much as 10%, the most since April 2025 and closed down 11%, notching its worst day of trading since June 2020. The dramatic market reaction shows how investors remain on edge about Boeing’s recovery after years of struggles to get the planemaker back on track.

- Ultra Clean (UCTT) shares rallied 10% in extended trading after the semiconductor equipment company reported adjusted earnings per share for the third quarter that beat the average analyst estimate.

- PPG Industries (PPG) shares are up 7.5% in extended trading after the paint and coating manufacturing company raised the low end of its adjusted earnings per share forecast for the year.

The Stock Movers Report. Your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market. Harnessing the power of Bloomberg data. I'm Tim Stenevek along with Carol Masser. Let's take a look at some stocks on the move today. We're joined by Bloomberg News equities reporter Arvelis Bonilla-Ramos.

Hey, Arvelis.

How are you?

We're good. How are you doing?

I kind of got a little scared because tomorrow it is the Fed and also Microsoft.

It's going to be a big day. No, these are fun days. These we love.

Embrace it. It's an opportunity.

The news just writes the day. I love it. It's always fun.

It is. I guess with talking about bigger companies, we have Boeing today. That's ticker BA. They closed down about 11%, the lowest since April 2025, or an 18-month low.

A lot happening with Boeing in the past months.

I guess today the big story was they did cut their full-year aircraft delivery target, and that was frowned upon by the markets. More specifically, the company will come short of its target for their 500 737 MAX jets and deliver it closer to the lower end of its 787 Dreamliner.

What's your favorite airplane, Carol?

One where I have a seat where I can lie down in?

Well, that's any plane.

That's not true.

You can't lie down in every seat.

If you have enough money, you can. That's true. I've seen some of those regional jets with live flight seats, right?

I've only heard about those, but I've never.

What's your favorite plane? Gerald didn't answer the question.

Yes, I think I also... I have no comment on that.

Okay, well, I'm glad you asked me. Yeah, which one is yours?

Let me tell you.

Well, it's a tie between the 787 Dreamliner and the A350.

Okay.

Oh.

And the reason I like those, thank you for asking, is because the cabin, they figured out a way to make the cabin pressure simulate an environment at a lower altitude.

Right.

So it's almost like you're at like 6,000 feet or 8,000 feet rather than at like 20,000 feet because of pressurization or 15,000 feet. So, you know, you're supposed to arrive more rested and it's supposed to be a more comfortable experience.

Yeah. I don't get to fly on those much.

Do you arrive more rested though?

I mean, if I'm paying for the ticket myself, I do not.

Let's just say that. No, he never does. It's hard for you on planes sometimes.

It's hard.

All right. So from Boeing BA to Ultra Clean we go. Ticker is UCTT. This was an aftermarket story.

Yeah.

I was trying to get some aftermarket moves. There's a lot happening.

Obviously, we're on the thick side. The thick of earnings, but shares were up about 70%. And then right before I enter here, around 10%.

This is a semiconductor equipment supplier.

They basically reported just earnings per share for the third quarter that beat the average analyst estimates. And worth noting that the stock has been up 103% in 2026.

Wow.

Yes.

This is not a name we talk about.

I was going to say, this is not.

I feel like we're saying that a lot more lately. In terms of some interesting moves.

Yes.

I mean, I guess because we're always, we see the usual suspects all the time. So my case today was let me bring some companies that are actually moving and grooving.

And we don't really talk about that much.

Maybe?

I'm glad you bring them.

One company we do talk about quite a bit just because it is a good sort of barometer or look at a certain industrial sector, PPG Industries.

PPG Industries. Yeah.

I mean, shares were up about 7.5 in extended trading. The paint and coating maker raised the low end of its adjusted earnings per share forecast for the year. Revenue for the third quarter came ahead of Wall Street's consensus and up a year today about 13%.

The Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, PPG.

The Pitcairn family.

It is, isn't it?

It's the Pitcairn family, yeah.

That's funny.

That's why we talk about it, because we talked to Pitcairn family office.

$ 25. 2 billion market cap.

Yeah, oh yeah.

Just a great barometer of the industrial sector, because they do paints, they do coatings.
