Shownotes

For nearly two and a half thousand years, people have turned to the Dhammapada for a few words of calm at the end of a long day. It holds the sayings of the Buddha, passed down and read for many lifetimes. This Buddhism for sleep series makes its way through the book slowly, a single chapter each night, in the dark hours when the world finally goes still.
Tonight is Episode 2 in the series, and we turn to the chapter on happiness: what the Buddha saw about where happiness truly comes from, and his suggestion that maybe it was near us the whole time, and that we have far less to chase than we think.
No prior knowledge of Buddhism is needed. Suitable for deep rest, gentle listening, and the slow hours of sleep.
If this brought you some peace, feel free to follow this sleep podcast for more calming Zen Buddhism and gentle stories to fall asleep.
Original commentary, stories and script written and produced by Midnight Monk. ✨🧘🌙
