Let's take a look here. What's the rumor? Narnia.

I'm not making any fucking pizza bets because I don't know any fucking clue how this is going to go.

Really? So after you see this trailer, you don't go one way? I was going to say, before you saw this trailer, did you think this movie was going to be a big hit?

I thought it was going to be good, but I don't think there's a lot of Narnia lovers out there these days.

Okay. And then after this trailer, you don't think it helps or hurts it? Fuck.

I think it hurts it.

Reported budget is $ 280 million.

$ 280 million.

$ 280 million.

Did you see the fucking CGI they got in this fucking trailer?

Of course.

I'm surprised it's not cracking 400.

And that's going to be like Digger where they're like, oh, actually it was a lot more when they looked at the, like that's, so it's like this movie, let's just round up with marketing, get to 300. You have to be making about 600 million to be in the profit zone for this.

That's Netflix for you.

We get a Narnia too. Hmm.

Are you making that bet, Mike? I'm not touching it with a 10-foot pole, but you go ahead.

You said you couldn't decide either way, so that's where it's a 50-50 bet.

Decide either way what? That they're doing another one?

Anarnia 2.

I'm leaning that they're not going to, but I'm not going to make a bet. I think this is way too much of a loose can. I know this trailer just slaps out of the park and everyone falls in love with it.

Can you tell me what's the view count on the Netflix trailer?

Let's see here.

Negative 2. Let's see.

33 million. I'm just kidding about subscribers. What the fuck? The view count is 5 million.

Here, just for fun, let's go calculator. 5, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 times. What's an average movie ticket in American dollars?

12 bucks?

That's not true. That's true, but that doesn't work. People.

$ 50 million movies not getting a sequel. $ 50 million.

And the theater gets half of that too. They spent 280 and they get 25 million back. Like, what is this? Can you look at, um, click on the exorcist to right there. What's the view count on that? We're not going to do that next, but 5.2 million. Okay.

To be fair, this 10 hours ago, 5.194 million for Narnia. So it's just like a difference of 6,000 views.

To me, Exorcist... Exorcist... You can close this window now. We'll come back to Exorcist later, so keep that up. We'll do that in a second. Exorcist, I can't say it's a dead franchise, but it's definitely a franchise that needs some loving. It's nowhere in the zeitgeist for big franchises. And that's pulling 5 million trailer views. With a couple more days, sure. But then you've got Narnia, which should be blowing up. I feel confident on this. I... Like, I guess there's a version of that where they do Lion Witch. Well, there's no way you can do Lion Witch and Wardrobe for cheap, right? That's got to be.

Sorry, say that again? For cheap?

Like, let's say the second one bombs and then they go like, oh, we got to make Lion Witch and Wardrobe cheaper than 280. Like, I feel like that's, isn't that a bigger book?

It has a lot more going on. Yeah.

But like how, because you got, you're in Narnia for that book, right?

So how do you go cheaper?

Like, I get you're not doing the World Between Worlds or any of that stuff, but this is a CGI fest.

Of a movie. Oh, look at these comments here.

Can we pop this back up? The Ragnarokification of Narnia. This is a movie about two British kids discovering their uncle's secret LSD lab. All the budget went into getting the rights to Stairway to Heaven and Daniel Craig.

Narnia, Love and Thunder.

What the fuck is that Elysium thing going on there? It does have that vibe. It has the MCU vibe. I guess that's a tough thing, right? Because Mike brings up a point, but box office money for Netflix is just a bonus. They want it as content. I agree. It just comes down to do enough people click on that.

Can you look at what the budget was for Six Underground, the Michael Bay classic starring Ryan Reynolds? At one point, it was the most streamed Netflix movie of all time.

Uh, directed by, sorry, it was 150 million.

Okay. So that was 150 million and they claim that was the most streamed movie of all time on Netflix. No sequel. Now maybe, you know, whatever happens, Narnia's brand, but there is still going to be a point where they go, Hey, is this price tag worth it? If we're going to do more. Because that's the thing. Box office-wise, I think it's going to eat it. Do I think people could click on it?

Sure.

Yeah. They could click on it. They can make it work. How do you feel about it as a streaming prospect? Obviously, a box office making $ 25 million, but streaming. Do you think it's a movie that a lot of people will still click on and go, yeah, I want to see Narnia?

I think.

I think if this movie came out before Christmas, I think it would do a lot better.

Yeah. It should have came out at Christmas, to be honest.

It should have.

I think that would have been a really, really good Christmas family movie. I think a lot of people actually would have doubled down and bought tickets for it.

So it's premiering February 12th. It doesn't come to Netflix until April 2nd.

What the fuck?

Because they're giving it a long theatrical window. They want to treat it like a real theatrical thing.

Good.

Yeah, I'll... Let's see. Netflix sequels. This went on way longer than I thought it was going to be, but of course.

Netflix always.

That's the thing with Netflix. They also like to cancel their fucking sequel shit.

So, let's see. Confirmed and upcoming sequels. No, I don't want that. I wanted just top ten... Okay. Top ten Netflix best original sequel movies of all time. Let's see what this list is. Okay. So... I.

Have a Knives out in there, I'm sure.

Yeah, that's the first guy. It's Daniel Craig.

He's on the five poster. I fucking knew it.

Yeah. Um, let's see. So, um, number 10 is Love Tactics 2. You liked that one, right Taylor?

The fuck is that?

Yeah. Uh, number nine, Murder Mystery 2. Obviously a very easy cheat movie.

Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston.

Yeah. Yeah. Uh, to all the boys I love, P.S. I still love you. Okay. Cheat movie. The Old Guard 2. I'd say that's a cheap movie. Bird Box Barcelona.

Yeah.

Is it a sequel of that? What the fuck?

It's a foreign film. You don't think Greta's name has weight?

No.

I think the director of Barbie does, but I think if you go to your parents and ask them who's Greta Gerwig, what do they say?

Something Barbenheimer.

Yeah, but do you think they even say that?

No, they don't have a fucking clue.

But then if you at least said, hey, it's the person who made Barbie, they go, okay, I understand that. I don't think it has... I think that's why it says... Is her name even in the trailer? Yep. When?

I'll backtrack it.

Does it?

Okay. I think it... Don't get me wrong. It has some weight. I don't think it has. Uh, like if Tom Cruise isn't pulling people to movies.

And clicks from get Greta Gerwig.

Okay. I see it. There it is. Okay.

So, and that's his director of Barbie.

I think if Cruz isn't bringing people in nowadays, I don't think red is. I think there's only one, even Denis, we have to see what happens after Dune. There's only one person bringing people in via name. Who is that? Taylor Nolan, Christopher fucking Nolan. Everybody else is dead.

Okay. Number five, Zachary Crager.

Uh, yeah. Small scale though. But, uh, lost bolt too. That was another Fair Ears Taylor, right?

Yeah, I can't stop talking about it.

Anola Holmes 2.

Okay.

Fear Street Part 2, which they made as a trilogy.

I do want to watch.

Oh.

But that doesn't count.

Yeah, that's a trilogy. Because they did like a fourth one or like a second.

It sucks. Don't watch it.

It sucks?

Okay. Yeah, just watch the trilogy again.

Fear Street Part 2? Fucking love that. That is actually a good one.

But that doesn't count because they made it as a trilogy. They made it all at the same time. So I'm going to count that. Number two, Extraction 2. You know those Chris Hemsworth movies?

Yeah, great.

And then Glass Onion, number one, obviously. All those movies I listed are super cheap and super, like, I'll take the bet, Mike. I'm going to say no. I don't think there's going to be a Narnia 2. I do not think it's going to happen. I think they're going to do this because I also think there's a chance the movie doesn't go well, like, critically or goes, like, very minorly. So, yeah, I'll take that pizza bet, Mike.

I'll say that there won't be a Narnia 2. Yeah, I'll follow up to Greta Gerwig's Narnia to be specific. In 15 years, they make a Lion, Witch, and Roar drove, and it's, you know, oh, Mike's asked for a pizza? No, not happening. But, all right. Let's take an ad break.

That's it, Mike? You're confirming, Mike? I'll punch you in right now.

Let's take an ad break. We'll be right back. We are back. Taylor Field, what did you think of the newest Hex trailer?

Talking about bad trailers.

Now, I really like that first trailer. There was something about it that was kind of like luring me in. But this one, I kind of want to take Satine to see it.

This trailer, you thought this was a better trailer?

I thought this was a better trailer.

Really?

I thought it was a much worse trailer.

Oh, shit.

I'm still taking the girls to see it because I think the movie is better than the trailer. I thought this was very like straight to DVD, like in a world with the witches. What do you mean? The guy was narrating the whole thing.

Sang in a world full of witches. Does he actually.

Say that line? I'll pull it up. Cause you don't get audio. Hang on now. But it's some shit like that where it's like, you know, and I just thought the, the narration, it's like, they thought the audience was fucking dumb and they're like, they're not going to get it if we don't tell them what's going on and stuff.

But yeah, Mike confirm the chat if that's all. I'll take that bet. Okay, so bring that in. And let's see here. Full screen. Love you, little bean. That an ordinary. Yeah. But it's the only way mommy can keep you safe. It was foretold. that an ordinary ghost foretold.

That is different.

No, but it's just the whole narration.

What is wrong with me?

It's throughout the whole trailer. Become an extraordinary witch. Holy moly. Save the world of magic from evil. Billy! This feels like the movie that you loved as a kid that was straight to the DVD, and then when you got older, you're like, oh, it actually kind of sucked. But they'd have this voiceover trailer. This did not work for me at all, this guy. Billy Doe, welcome to Hex. Yeah.

I'm still excited for it. We need to sit on a time frame.

That's a good idea. What's the time frame?

Hmm. This is for the Narnia bet. Because I still think like, yeah, I guess, right? Because then we could, we'd always been waiting. Like, when's the deciding point? Let's see.

When.

Taylor, can you... Actually, keep giving your thoughts on Hex and I'll find out my information, actually. I know I've worded it, but... Yeah, no.

So I think this movie, it's got some kind of energy to it that's kind of pulling me in. Maybe it's just the fact that we're in October and it's Halloween time right now.

It's also kind.

Of making me want more magical things right now because the release date is.

November.

Because they always... Well, because they always release Pixar stuff during American Thanksgiving to try and get the long weekend money with the fans together. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, but that's what.

They go for.

And you got that Walton Goggins voice, too. That was always, that was fantastic. I love that.

That's going to bring in more people than Greta for Narnia.

Yeah.

Starring Walton Goggins.

This is right before my birthday, so maybe it's like a birthday gift to myself. I'll be like, all right, team, let's go. I'm taking you to the movies, and we'll go indulge in this.

Because, yeah, I think I had to really do a number with her.

To kind of like get her to come around for halloween because last year she was definitely uncomfortable with it and so this year at the start she was uncomfortable again she's getting very kind of anxious like off with it so.

Halloween for the halloween that everything's going on halloween stuff the daycare.

There well there is didn't you know we got there's a whole no oh shit they sent.

A notice out yeah it was taken away.

Oh damn okay madison i love that.

Um but i've i've been kind of coaxing her in playing the halloween movies did that toy story one you recommended yeah prior 13th conjuring we watched it the other night but i had her watch that we're gonna do welcome to dairy no you didn't have i didn't make her i didn't make her watch it i'm not that bad of a parent jesus christ no we watched it on our own but um.

This is an interesting question. Taylor saw the news of Pat McAfee being in the movie and was sold. Don't type anything. Who's Pat McAfee?

Pat McAfee? Is that the antivirus guy in the cafe?

Antivirus?

What? No, not at all. He's a sports commentator. He used to be a kicker, a punter.

How the fuck would I know that?

That's my point to Greta Gerwig. See, here's where I go back, though, Mike. So she– it was announced somewhere in 2020 because she said she wrote the– let's see, in 2020– okay, she wrote in 2020 and then approached Netflix in 2021. So let's say 2021, it came out– let's say it was supposed to be 26, but it got delayed to 27. So it took five, seven years.

I– and Taylor, I think you would agree with this. I would only take this bet on the movie coming out, not an announcement. Because they can announce that Narnia 2 is coming out. I get Mike a pizza and then they never make that fucking movie. So that's where I would push back, Mike. I would go, that movie has to release. Not an announcement. That's easy to make an announcement.

I ain't sitting on the announcement.

The release is fair. I think that's fair.

Yeah. So if we can't... I would say a release from six years from the first Narnia. Because this movie took six years for production. She talked to Netflix in 2021. It's coming out in 27.

I say.

that gives us to 2034. If it's not out till then, then I fucking long pizza bet. Cause I get the timeframe, but I just feel like they could easily announce it. And then if it never comes out, I feel like, well, I'm dumb, you know? Yeah. Next alone. But, uh, yeah. So I like this trailer or sorry, I don't like this trailer, but I like the concept of the movie.

I'm excited to take the girls shortest Disney animated movie of all time or something like that. So They're trying to get that in there. So I hope it's good. I like when they dip into the toes and the spooky stuff. I love Coco. I'm really looking forward to that, uh, that ghost in the market or whatever one that looks great.

So there you go. We're locked in. So Narnia two has to come out before 2034. Travis for, or Travis against Mike for pizza bet. There we go. So that's a, that's like me and Dylan are 10 year decade pizza bet. So,

0:00 / 0:00
