Good Morning Football is a production of the NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio.

Morning football last season the nfl schedule began in that building and now we sit in this parking lot waiting patiently for a very friendly contest that will go down on monday night football tonight between the eagles and the cowboys somebody opened the gates early at stateside live just across the street from the link and they let gmf be in good morning football presented by old trapper beef jerky Here's the roll call. Jamie Urdal, Mance Iteo, Seth freaking Rollins at the breakfast table as always. Kyle Brandt to my right in person. Tanner McKee, excuse me. Early Halloween costume. And the great 88 Michael Irvin.

Joining us on GMSB.

Thank you for being here, Irv.

It's so good to be back here on the network, too, with my peeps.

I bet.

We love it.

We love it. Real quick, just documented everybody in your head. This is the last time you'll see everybody in their seats. Has it not been the most ridiculous first hour of television.

You've ever seen?

Here we go.

What are seats for?

Kyle. Kyle, I miss you, man. I miss you.

Actually, crowd, if you watch GMFB, if you watch GMFB, you know there's something that we love to yell at the beginning of our show, and it starts our conversation. And if you're a runner, you like to have a friend in front of you that does this person. So on a count of three, can you start our show for us, please?

Lead block.

Ready?

One.

Two, three.

Thank you very much. Let's have a Cowboys conversation.

Sorry, Eagles fans.

We're having a Cowboys conversation. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys have started two and four this season. This ties for the worst start of the Dak Prescott era through six games of his career. However, after a hot start, Prescott threw four interceptions in the last two games, which has led to a lot of frustration from the Dallas Cowboys quarterback.

Here he is.

Yeah, I'd say determined and I would hope urgent. We can only say we've got a lot of games in front of us for so long. It might be already past us, right? We've got to go win.

You've got to go win.

You want to give yourself a chance to be a winning team, to be a playoff team. You've got to win as many games as you can. And when you drop two games, and particularly games that we didn't expect to drop, it makes it that much harder. So urgent, urgent to get it done now.

So here's the thing about the way the Cowboys season started. The first four weeks, they were putting up 30 points per game. They were fulfilling the prophecy that we expected for this offense. The last two weeks, though, in total, they've scored 29, which puts them at that average you see on the right side of the screen. Irv, you talked a lot about the potential this offense is supposed to have, and you believe that they will get comfortable.

They'll settle in. But when it comes to what they have not been able to put on the field the last two weeks, how much blame does this go to Dak Prescott?

Well, Dak certainly gets a big piece of the blame because what has happened here lately with the Dallas Cowboys in their offense is they're trying to work Tyler Smith back in. you see defenses now stacking that line of scrimmage and that offensive line is just not put together well and on the same page right now. And guys are coming free. Last week, Dak threw an interception. Dak threw an interception where he has to be able to read that backside guy that's falling off. It's the same throw that he made to C.D. Lamb in the Texans game where C.D. scored the game-tying touchdown. But in that situation, they junked it up and he fell back off. He baited Dak Prescott. That's been in the league way too

long to have those situations happening to him. And he has to get this team back to what they were doing weeks one to four when they were putting up 30 points a game.

I like the, there's a young lady we just showed who has a sign here and it says my emergency contact is Dak Prescott. Well, it's time to call guys. It's time to use that. This is why you have that contact. This is an emergency. You go to that building tonight and lose to the zombie Eagles.

You got an emergency. This is a crisis. I just love that. Like Mike's laying out with the issue.

So you don't believe you, so you, you believe that they're going to lose. That's what your mouth just said. Now you do that. You know, what do you call them, zombies?

The zombie eagles.

Zombie eagles. Yeah, yeah, they can't lose. Right, so you believe the Cowboys will win tonight, too?

Not Mike, I'm very control of what comes out of my mouth. I did not say that.

I said they lose tonight.

You know what, Mike?

I like that you checked me on my BS, because no one else will.

So I love that. All right, you know what? Screw it. When the Cowboys lose.

To the zombie eagles, You have a crisis, you have an emergency. And I would go back to Mike, what are you gonna say when they lose?

Because you know what? It's not early anymore. It's damn near November and we still got problems. We're not working things out. But I like that.

Mike's like, we got issues with the offensive line.

We're working guys back in.

And the Eagles fans are like, our house is burning down.

Right.

You're telling me the backsplash in your kitchen isn't right. Our house is burning down. Don't come to me with your problems. You know what I'm saying? Don't lose that game tonight in that house. Don't lose that game. I'm telling you, don't lose to these zombies. These zombies got heart. Never mind the brains. They got heart. They got balls.

I'm telling you.

Don't lose to these zombies, Manti. Well, we're talking about Dak Prescott.

You know, one thing about Dak is he's really, really good in normal situations.

And I think you can see this, Irv, is.

Dak Prescott in high-pressure, high-stakes situations kind of.

Get robotic a little bit.

I go back to that game in Rio where they're going down there, it's third and goal from the seven, and he throws the ball out of bounds to George Pickens, and there's some miscommunication as to what was the play call? What was the communication like? What's that supposed to happen? So when Dak is in these high-pressure, high-tense situations, He kind of goes robotic.

He doesn't play lax.

And so you said earlier in the show that shot is good at making late game decisions. Well, you're putting your quarterback in decisions and positions where I don't think that's the best result for him. I don't think that's the best path for him. You have to keep that comfortable. You have to keep him thinking that everything's fine. As long as that happens, he's at his best. But when it's when the game's on the line. I know that's the emergency contact sign over there. I don't know if you want to put that as emergency contact because in emergency situations, it doesn't always look pretty.

Interesting.

It doesn't have to look pretty, Menta, but he's got to get the job done.

And what I liked about.

That interview is he took responsibility and he understands the scope of what they're dealing with right now. He said, look, there's not that many games in front of us. We can't keep saying we got a bunch of games in front of us.

We don't.

You know, he's with you, Kyle. He understands that it's almost no more.

Middle of the season and they're not where they want to be so he understands the moment it's time when you're a professional quarterback in the NFL that is the most high pressure position all the success all the blame goes to you and when you are a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboy football team you got an extra level you got to step up and when you're Dak Prescott and you show up the training camp wearing a Super Bowl talk about it You put yourself, you put yourself, your back against the wall. Now, if you can't come on the road at this stadium and deliver tonight, then we got to start having conversations about what your future looks like in Dallas. So big game. He knows it.

Let's see what he brings to the table, baby.

Stateside live. You've been excellent. Kyle Brandt had to show up today wearing a Tanner McKee jersey. And a lot of that had to do, of course, with the developing situation with your quarterback in Jalen Hurts.

Graduate.

Of Trinity Preschool, top of his class. Perfect attendance for five of his nine years at St. Richard's School. This is a cold read, everybody. A 1998 graduate of St. John Newman, where he was a two-sports star in baseball and football, and no golfer.

No golf.

A cum laude graduate of LaSalle University before embarking on his media career as a producer.

A producer?

Mike Garofalo with WIP and a sports writer with the Associated Press.

Mike, I'm done.

What else? We know you have two kids. You have a beautiful wife. You have a successful career. What else, Mike G? What else do you want to tell us?

I would ask you where all that information came from, Jamie, but right now your mother, my mother, and my father are hanging out.

Our parents are hanging out?

We're calling it the parents' loft.

Up here.

My mother wearing my high school football jersey.

Yay!

Just ask her. I played. Yeah, she did. She knows what I got on.

A science test in sixth grade, so I have no doubt all that information where that came from.

She's like Evita up there. She looks great.

The Garofalo parents and the Erdahl parent sitting right there. And my dad would love to be here, too.

Love it.

Mike G.

you got it. What's going on with the Eagles today?

The NFL and the NFLPA, Jamie, you talked about the Jalen Hurts situation. They are coming together regarding the investigation that the PA, the union, called for last week.

And the NFL said, we welcome it.

It is a part of the collective bargaining agreement between the sides that when there is a medical review, the sides will come together. And they have been in communication. They made that clear in a joint statement yesterday.

This is an involved endeavor.

Basically, is what we're going to call it, because both sides have to agree upon who's going to do this. And the scope of the review. So that's the communication right now. And this is going to take months. And I mentioned this last week. Even a standard concussion protocol review takes a couple of weeks. This one is going to be a little bit more involved with regard to the blood clots, how they were handled, the decisions that were made both here domestically and overseas. they occurred while or they were found I should say while Hertz and the Eagles were in London now in the meantime Hertz has remained in communication with the team and right now it is about his rest and his recovery and following

doctor's orders so that's what it's been lately for Jalen Hurts.

They have made it clear that he will be.

In communication with the team and around the team as much as he possibly can be, but right now it's about the recovery and making sure he is in a good place from a health standpoint.

And we wish him well, as always. We'll say it again one more time here on Good Morning Football. Mike G, the next question becomes, because while we think of Jalen Hurts and his thorough recovery, there's still a Tanner McKee conversation that has to be had. In fact, you just have to look at the quarterback room as a whole.

How is this organization going to fare? for the next 10 weeks without Jalen Hurts, knowing that Tanner McKee right now is QB1.

They have the confidence in Tanner McKee to the point where teams have called the Eagles previously about potentially trading for him, and they have turned those teams away over the last couple of years and turned the backup position to him over to him last year.

They had the full confidence all the way up.

To Jeffrey Lurie, a big fan, of Tanner McKee from my understanding so the hope is what you saw against the Panthers and they were fits and starts there and a lot of reasons you got to remember he didn't have the full complement of players at his disposal at best he had a Devante Smith that was hampered and now won't play against the Cowboys but Saquon Barkley returning to the mix against Saquon Barkley a big Saquon our big Tanner McKee guy hopeful that his return will help the offense and McKee as well Quarterback's.

Best friend can oftentimes, Mike Garofalo, be the run game. So shout out to Saquon Barkley for attempting to work his way back. That would be very fun for Eagles fans ahead of Eagles Cowboys tonight. Monday Night Football, you can watch it across the family of networks, ESPN, ABC, Disney, the Manning cast, what have you. Kyle Brandt.

Yeah.

Tanner McKee, you have that jersey. You got a Foles jersey on under that?

I don't.

No, I love Foles, though. How much do we love Nick Foles?

Legend.

We like Nick Foles here.

That's one eagle. Nick Foles is one eagle that I do like also.

Nick is my guy now.

But the rest of you, I don't know about that. Nick Foles is the only one.

You put that jersey on this morning. Do you catch Nick Foles' vibes from this situation? No, no, no, no.

I'm not going to disrespect the great Nick Foles here, who has a statue outside this building, who won the Super Bowl.

Listen, we can have.

Some optimism without jumping right to Nick Foles. But it's, you know, listen, you got to give that speech. That's where it's like, Nick Foles isn't walking through that door. Fletcher Cox is not walking through that door. Alshon Jeffries is not going to catch a touchdown of the Patriots against Super Bowl.

This is a new team.

And Doug Peters is not here either. I think there's a lot of reasons to be optimistic. One of the reasons, in fact, maybe all of the reasons are the Commanders, the Cowboys, and the Giants. You guys picked a great year to not be good, all right?

A great year. And I don't even want to say not be good.

You said it, though. That's what you said. Because, hey, you spoke the gospel the first time you spoke. Now you're trying to fix it up and work it up, but do your thing.

It's so different with Mike here.

I know. Usually Kyle's just going and Manti and I are just.

Like, uh-huh.

And now he fights back and you get out of your seat.

Here's what I would say. You said, am I getting Nick Foles vibe from Tanner McGee? Yeah. no okay but can tanner mckee go eight and nine with the eagles and win.

The division yes i didn't mince those words at.

All okay so irv you know a thing or two though about showing up in a season thinking you're gonna have a guy and then you have a backup quarterback so if you just could erase the color green from your mind and think of it on the eagles behalf what is it like to win and try to find success with a backup quarterback.

Well, it is very difficult. It really is. Because the thing here also is you're bringing in two different types of quarterbacks. You know, Jalen Hurts, the way he runs the football with his legs and, of course, passes the ball. But McGee's not going to be able to do those things. So he'll sit back in the pocket more. The good thing is, honestly, the Dallas Cowboys defense has shown no ability to stop anybody, to be honest with you. And so what I'm wanting to see is McGee going up against Dak Preston in a shootout. Let me see how McGee... No, McGee.

I'm calling McGee. I'm doing it on purpose. No, McGee. He's like that Uber McGee guy.

Oh, no.

I'll just stand right here.

Whenever we get. Wait, wait. Let me even say this. Let me say this. No, no. Not McGee.

McGee.

We're going to call him McGee. You know why I'm not calling him McGee?

Why?

Because he's not the key to anything.

Oh.

You understand? He's not the key to anything. That's why I'm not calling him McKee. I'm calling him McKee.

Tanner McKee. With a G.

With a G.

Listen, listen, listen.

Listen, regardless of how you spell his name.

Manti, they love Michael Irving here.

They love him.

No, no, listen, listen, listen, listen.

So- I think the Eagles, as far as Tanner McKee is concerned, he's a temporary solution right now. I think you take a play out of the Giants playbook. You know, their franchise quarterback goes down. They get Jamison there for a little bit, and then they make a trade for a guy named J.J.

McCarthy.

The Eagles made a trade for a guy named Joel Milton. Joel Milton is a lot more like Jalen Hurts than Tanner McKee is.

And the reason why you want.

Somebody that has some carryover like that is if you're an offensive coordinator, you don't have to change up too much things. You can play the same type of offense.

Under Joel Milton. That's the only man that's saying something worth hearing. He's just saying something worth hearing for you guys to hear. That's a good job. And not to mention, Joe came from Dallas. So you have somebody... That has been in the division.

Knows what it looks like, knows what it tastes like, and can bring that over to the Philadelphia Eagles and help that offense out. So I do think Tanner McKee is a temperation until.

Joe Milton is ready to go.

That's all well and good, but this has got to be the Saquon show.

This has got to be.

The sake of our show.

That's logical, too.

Everybody, you're talking about Tanner McKee. You're talking about Joe Milton. That's all great and well and good. But this has got to be the sake of our show. They have got to run the ball. When they were successful, look, Jalen Hurts was great.

He was awesome.

Super Bowl MVP, fantastic. All that good stuff.

But they ran the ball like no other team in football. Now, look, the offensive line's a mess. It's not what it was a couple years ago. I get all that. But you still got one of the best backs in football. And the way to make it simple and easy for Tanner McKee.

McKee.

Is to run Saquon hard.

Get easy third down conversions, good gains on first and second down, and make it simple for him. It's got to be the Saquon show. That's how Philly's going.

To get it done, baby.

Dallas run defense. You should be putting it all on Saquon right now. But I'm going to say something. What you said about Joe Milton, you're absolutely right. That dude is different. He is like what AJ McCarthy is doing for the Giants right now, if you can get him up and going, because Joe Milton, he can play football.

We got a piece of video for you, because we talk about backup quarterbacks, going on the road, that type of thing. 1991, the Dallas Cowboys with Steve Berline came to Philadelphia and lit it up.

We have the video. Oh, yeah.

Roll the video, and Irv, tell us what you remember about this.

First of all, we lit up everybody.

Yeah.

With the backup quarterback. I think we won seven straight.

Shout out Berline.

Something with Berline like that. Y'all see that? Y'all remember them days. Don't make me put that jersey back on. But seriously, Steve Berline was a lot like Troy Aiken. You know what I mean? So we didn't have to change much of anything. We just kept running our offense. And that's what was so good about that when Steve Berline came in. Beautiful.

Astro turf. Still burns, doesn't it? Oh, boy.

That turf right there. My knee still hurts. Still hurts.

They didn't have to drive that footage very far across from Mount Laurel, New Jersey, where it sits at NFL Films.

My neck still hurts, too.

We left being in Philly today on GMFB special. A three-hour special here at Stateside Live ahead of Eagles-Cowboys, the finale to Week 7. Look at that thing of beauty. Oh, an Emmitt jersey.

Nice.

I'll remember that guy.

All right, we got a highlight next on GMFB. Kyle, I'm informing you now, you got three minutes before a highlight, okay?

I'll use all three seconds.

We got Giants-Texans to review next. NFC East conversation rolls on. Thank you for being here today.

You guys are great!

No one's in their seats.

Check it.

We're back on GMFB at stateside live ahead of Eagles Cowboys. Kyle already tried to give away a commander's jersey. It was coughed back up like a regurgitating baby. And now, Kyle, you hold in your hand a piece of paper from another NFC East team. We got to talk about what happened with the Giants and the Texans yesterday. First start for J.J.

McCarthy. Jamie, why didn't you tell me I had a highlight coming? Here we go.

Let's do this from the hip. Giants versus Texans. Both need a win. But J.J., with the start, I remember him vividly at Michigan. You kind of remember him at Minnesota.

Hey, Cam Scadaboo, get out of his way. Touchdown. Hit the back flip, Cam. Bam. Wham, bam.

Thank you, Cam.

We will see you tomorrow on Angry Runs, my friend, if the league lets us.

If the league lets you.

If the league lets us. All right. It might be too hot for TV. C.J. Stroud and those All Reds rolling out. And that is a touchdown. Xavier Hutchinson. CJ Stroud threw two of them.

Had a season low in passing yards.

So we're going to OT because it's 2026. Every game goes to OT. And motor. Singletary. We're motoring. And that is it. It is over.

Everyone was waiting for the Texans to go on a crazy run. Maybe they still will. But they're 2-5. More importantly, Philadelphia. Those New York Giants are four and two and one.

And we got.

Homemade signs and birds fans and the Giants sitting in first place.

Yeah, they are.

And, you know, they become the first team in the NFL since 2016 to win a game in each in a season with three different starting quarterbacks. We've seen Jackson Dart do it. We've seen Jameis Winston do it. And now J.J. McCarthy gets that win. To me, Manti, that screams head coaching.

That screams culture, Jamie. There's a reason why you bring John Harbaugh into that building. There's a reason why you brought John Harbaugh over to New York to tell these guys how to win.

There's a recipe for winning, right, Irv?

And if you don't know that recipe, grab the chef and bring him in the kitchen and let him cook for you. John Harbaugh has been cooking for them. You watch this New York Giants team play. You watch how Cam Scalaboo played yesterday. People forget, he got demoted last week.

He didn't have a touch.

And John Harbaugh was trying to come in there and set a precedence. I would listen to Mike Tomlin last night say, it's killing a fly with a sledgehammer.

Sometimes you have to come.

In on the first year and say, this is how things are going to be done under my regimen, under my regime. And that's what John Harbaugh did yesterday with the Giants.

I love watching this.

Giants team play. Offensively, defensively, special teams, they're not beating themselves. Sometimes in the past, you look at the New York Giants and.

Say, oh, We don't even have to win this game. They're going to lose.

They're going to win it for us because they're going to beat themselves. You look at John Harbaugh. They're not beating themselves. They're beating up the opponent. Camp Scalaboo is setting a precedence as to what they want to do. They want to be physical, and they want to demand the greatness out of each other, out of their teammates.

And not to mention, you look at the Baltimore Ravens.

It's not looking good.

But John Harbaugh has those Giants playing very, very good football. So it's off culture to me, Seth.

Manta, you're dead on.

And I was going to hit it on the same thing. But let me ask you, you love the Texans, right? You love the Texans defense. They are a physical defense, right? They're playing at home in Houston. Who is the more physical team in that game?

You look at that. You look at that highlight.

There was a play and we did reference it a little bit, Seth, that. I don't know if we could show it on television because Cam Scalaboo ran over a defender. I love that type of football. That is good football to me. But that was a more physical team. It was the offense.

Oh!

Rewind that.

That's what I'm saying. But they were the more physical team.

And I don't think anybody, if you looked at this game on the schedule, anybody looked at this game on the schedule going into it, we're going to think that the New York football giants were going to be more physical than the Houston Texans defense in Houston when Houston needed these wins. And they were so physical. And that comes down to coaching. You are dead on. That was the big mystery this year.

You looked at the offense. You looked at the defense, the personnel in New York. And you said, okay. what's Harbaugh going to bring to the table? Is he done? Is he washed? Is it over? Did he get his Super Bowl and he's gone?

Or is he going to come and bring motivation, bring guidance, be a leader of men in New York?

And that's exactly what he's done.

He looks incredible. They are making hay. I mean, look, they're leading this division, y'all. They're doing it.

I'm sorry.

And it's a shock. It's a shock, and it's kind of a nice surprise. I've got to be honest.

I'm sorry, Philly. I'm sorry.

It's kind of a nice surprise. It really is.

That also sounds kind of patronizing, though, too. You're like, Giants, it's nice. Week seven.

We haven't been able to say that for the New York football Giants for a long time. They're a young team, and they're coming in, and they're playing hard, and they're playing football the right way, and you love to see it.

And it's just the beginning.

That's right.

This is just the beginning for the New York Giants. And Coach Harbaugh, what he's done is some Jimmy Johnson-type stuff here. That's exactly what he's done. And it is a hell of a compliment. He took his camp scatterball. We can talk about all. He's been out here doing all the commercials, all the commercials. But then you get on this football field, and you're doing all the fumbling.

And he sat him down and said, no, no, no, no. You're not going to be a star out here and then make me not be a star at my position to get me fired. He sat him down. Cataboo ran with a new purpose yesterday. He was running so hard yesterday. And you saw it. After he ran a touchdown, you saw Coach Harbaugh trying to go. He gave him the side eye like, you mother of a brother. He didn't really, you know what I mean? And I'm okay with that because what Jimmy used to always say, everybody's coming here and everybody wants to. You want to get famous, get famous.

You want to make money, make money.

You want to meet girls, meet girls. But we all must focus.

On winning and everybody can get everything they want. But if you're focused on anything else, You will not get it. And I thought Cam was focused on too much of commercials and all that other stuff. And he brought his attention back to the football field.

I want to hear more about the meeting girls.

Let's go.

Come on.

Whatever you come, just as long.

As you come, as long as you keep your mind on winning, you can get it.

Play football first.

Well, I think if you go back to the beginning of the season, if you had told Eagles fans, for example, all right, here's the deal with the Giants. Jackson Dart's gonna get nuked early on, he's gonna be out. They're gonna do this Jameis thing for a month, and then they're gonna start JJ McCarthy.

You would celebrate.

Yeah.

I mean, that sounds horrible.

Yeah.

From start to finish.

Yeah. For some reason, it's working, and I think it's their head coach. When Scataboo's out there running, they're a different team. There's a different energy, there's a different Moxie. And I felt the same thing coming from JJ. He comes up with that ridiculous fourth quarter in the last game, starts here, goes 20 for 28, looks sharp, looks everything you want.

Him to be.

And you know what's funny here on the set right now? Like, I know you guys hate the Giants, but there's a little bit of head nodding when the Scataboo thing comes up.

So let me just do a quick test. I threw you guys.

A brand new Jaden Daniels jersey with the tags.

On it, and you threw it back.

You threw it back.

Oh, we got a stat.

There it is.

Now, I know you guys don't like the Giants, but I see some people.

Calling for this jersey. Let's find out what happens. Here we go.

What a friend.

Oh, yeah. Yeah. There we go.

No, that's a real Cowboy fan. A real Cowboy fan. We don't take jokes from nobody else.

See, your ego's out here.

We'll take it. But hey, you know what time it is. That ain't Emmitt Smith. You know what you're doing. That was brotherly love.

That was brotherly.

Love right there. A Cowboys fan gifting a Giants fan the Scataboo jersey. Scataboo's bringing everybody together.

Right here, Trotter.

Right here, right now. You ain't need to think that move. I don't care who it is.

Let's go.

Smothered by Jeremiah Trotter. Jeremiah Trotter.

Look out.

Here we come.

Here we come.

Pass is intercepted.

And Trotter will run it in for the touchdown.

It's our house.

It's our house.

He pumps up for one out.

He was a third-round pick out of Stephen F. Austin in 1998 by your Philadelphia Eagles, a four-time Pro Bowler, a member of the Eagles Hall of Fame.

You know him as the Axeman, Jeremiah Trotter! Let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go.

What's up, baby?

Get in here. Yeah.

Let's go.

We got a spot for you at the breakfast table.

Oh, great to see you.

Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Play the game the right way.

What's going on, baby?

How are you?

Hey.

Brotherly love.

Great to see you.

KB. How we feeling, my man? Man, feeling good, baby. Yeah, you look good. It's Dallas week, baby.

You got to get up for Dallas week.

You got to get up for Dallas week. What does that mean?

What do you mean?

Man, it's Dallas week. Nothing else you got to say. It's our rivals. We hate Dallas. We hate everything about Dallas.

Let me translate that for you.

It's Dallas.

We're jealous of Dallas, and we're sick of this, and we're going to try to beat them all the time because they're America's team.

But, Jeremiah, here's the thing.

All I know is we got the last Super Bowl, baby. That's all I know.

That's all I know.

Hey.

I was too young to remember when they won it.

Jeremiah, some people take that fire and that hatred and rivalry and it just kind of peters out in the field. You went with the opposite. You had two pick sixes in your career. And could you remind the good people here in Philadelphia who that came against?

Both of them.

Both of them.

Both of them.

Both of them.

Wow.

So listen.

So listen, right? I'm from Texas. And I hate to say this.

Here comes the video. Many, many moons ago.

You were like the rest of the world. I was young.

I was young and naive.

Oh, yeah.

And we only had three channels. Yep.

So I was forced to watch the Dallas Cowboys.

You're not proud of it.

I'm not proud of it.

I get it. But one day I grew up. And I became a man.

Yes.

And I left the dark side. Uh-huh. I put away my childish ways. Yes.

Now I bleed green. baby. Is that that pick six right there?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Who was quarterbacking there? Who was that? One of them was on Aikman.

And the other one was on, I think. No, it wasn't Roman.

Was it Bernie?

No.

Roll it again. Let's find out.

Ryan Lee.

Ryan Lee.

Ryan Lee.

Ryan Lee.

I forgot about Ryan. JT, it's great to have you here. JT, let me bring you here right now to this. President, when you see this Philadelphia Eagles team, what do you see and what is missing? Why are they not winning?

Well, I see a lot of injuries, man. I mean, I was looking at the injury report the other day, and the list is long. And it keeps getting longer every day. And it seems like we get a guy back, and he's right back on the injury report. That's the first thing. Now, before all the injuries started happening, we was already struggling.

New coordinator.

I mean, Jalen Hurts has been through so many offensive coordinators, man. You've seen the offensive playbook. You know how hard it is to learn for a receiver. Imagine for a quarterback to have to learn a new system.

Almost every year.

I remember somebody told me when Russell Westbrook left Seattle and went to, was it Denver?

Russell Wilson, yep.

Russell Wilson.

Yep.

They said he was making some of the old calls from Seattle.

He couldn't get out of his head.

He's right.

So imagine the guys trying to learn a new system every single year, man.

That has to be tough.

And he's produced a Super Bowl.

Win, two appearances.

You know, and he's one of the winning quarterbacks of our time right now, and he's found a way to do it.

What are y'all talking about?

Y'all don't give him the love he deserves.

This is the city of brotherly love, and y'all show that brother no love. So don't try to act like y'all know something.

Come on, man.

That man, hey, you're right, though. All out seriousness, you're right. This man, though, Jalen Hurst does not get the credit he deserves. If you take his accomplishments and wrap them around– Anyone, you wrap him around Justin Herbert, we would have him as a god. You wrap him around the quarterback in Jacksonville, you would.

Have him as a god.

Trevor Lawrence.

Trevor Lawrence.

You're right. Joe Burrell. We would have him as a god. And here, you guys treat him like he's not worthy.

JT, I got a question. So you said you bleed green. I think you also breathe green because you have two sons in the NFL right now.

Yeah.

And then Junior is right here in Philly. That's so cool. That's so cool. How cool is that for you? Take us through that whole experience to have.

Your sons playing in the league, especially your son here, Junior, wearing 54.

I was telling someone backstage, man, one of my proudest moments, a few weeks ago, Junior got to start against the Rams. And I'm watching his game live, and on my iPad, I'm watching Josiah play at the same time, man. That had to be one of the most special moments for me as a dad. I'm proud of them without football.

Sure.

This is just added bonus.

That's great.

That's awesome.

But it's fun when they're good.

Isn't that awesome? I love that, I love that.

Yeah, right.

All right, as someone who fully appreciates a grand entrance- Yes. And a signature move, I gotta be honest with you, man.

I love that ax, man. Hell yeah.

Give me a feeling of that adrenaline rush after making a big play and hitting that move. Where did that come from? Tell us all about it, baby.

So I grew up chopping wood with my dad.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Every day, every summer, we was chopping wood growing up. You know, I started making a few plays against the. And I wanted to do something that reminded me of my upbringing. And I started doing the axe chop, man. And it's such a blessing to see my boys want to carry on that legacy. Every time they do it, man, I get teary-eyed. I don't cry now. The axe man don't do no crying. Don't get it twisted. You know what I'm saying? But, yeah, it's special.

As a father.

Well, Jeremiah, it's good that we have such a, you know, it's such a sleepy, boring crowd here. But I feel like if you could stand up, Jeremiah, we've got this spot down here.

Let's go, baby.

If you could give them a little pop of energy, Jacks, man. Envision yourself this. Another pick six against the Dallas Cowboys. And what would we see?

The ax only comes out when the crowd gets up. Get up!

I got to get it up. He made me a little dog.

Let's go, let's go, let's go.

Come on!

Boom!

Yeah! Yeah!

Let's go!

Let's go!

Thank you for coming on, CMFB, Jeremiah.

Yeah! Yeah!

Good luck to all the boys tonight.

Hey, team.

Jeremiah Trotter, everybody.

We'll be right back.

Hey!

Good morning, football.

We're back in Philly at Stateside Live for a three-hour special of Good Morning Football here on NFL Network ahead of Eagles-Cowboys, which will complete week seven of the 2026 NFL season. We're going to take this very seriously, the following exercise, okay? In our hands, we've played a little arts and crafts here in the commercial break, and we all have. four faces of wide receivers from the Dallas Cowboys of past who wore the number 88.

Yes.

Yes.

Can I get a roll call? Can I get a CD lamb, everybody? Can I get a Drew Pearson, everybody? What do you got, Manti?

Dez Bryant.

Can I get a Dez Bryant? Dez Bryant. And would you look at that? We have a young Michael Irvin on a popsicle stick. So, Kyle, since you are left empty-handed, you must move us around like GMFB chess pieces and rank us greatest 88s of all time in the Cowboys organization from... Last to first.

It's just so easy. Why don't you guys shuffle yourself up a little bit? Shuffle a little bit, come on. Make this hard. All right, guys, so I'll help out some- That was good. Some help from Philadelphia.

We got Dez, we got Irv, we got CD, we got Pearson.

Who should be number four if we're going.

From four, three, two, one?

All right, now listen, I love this player, but just because he's so young and has a future ahead of him, I'm gonna put CD at number four, all right?

CD's down here.

Boo.

I already know there's one decision that's gonna be really.

Hard on this.

Dez Bryant is electric, and Dez did catch it, by the way.

Yes, he did. Dez, you're gonna stay right here.

We got CD, we got Dez, and then we get to these two. Now, Drew Pearson is the OG. I love Drew Pearson, made one of the best draft announcements of all time. Seth, you've done it, I've done it. And good God, that afro is incredible. So my only question here at Philadelphia is do I just leave it like this or do I do a little swap right here between Mr.

Irvin and Mr. Pearson?

Who should be one, Irvin or Pearson?

I love Drew.

This man, not this man, he's beautiful, but this man had 1,000 yards in his career versus the Eagles alone.

Wow.

This man has three Super Bowl rings at home. Three Super Bowl rings. And the glasses are coming off.

Mr.

Pearson. I love you, but my friend, if you would come slightly to your left, into your right spot, and now back up slightly. God, he's still so strong. I have it as C.D. Des Pearson and number one from the University of Miami, who also happens to be number one in the country, Mr.

Michael Irvin. Did I get it right?

Yes.

Yes.

Did he get it right?

Yes, and then I'll give you a speech here to tell you the truth here. And for all you to know, I didn't wait until I got to Dallas before I started winning my championship. I won before I got there too. You understand what I'm saying? But I shall put this down to you. When it comes to the 88s, we are not to be put side by side and doing some kind of comparative analysis. We ought to be stacked one on top of the other. Yes, sir. Because that's what builds legacies. And right now, C.D. Lamb is carrying the legacy, and he will carry it on your ass tonight.

Yes!

Trust me. This man has.

To show up in Philadelphia.

Tonight, and he has to stand on his own for Irv.

He's going to carry the 88, and he will carry it well tonight.

C-D-L.

Next, I'm going to rank all the tanners.

All right, we've got to finish up our second hour on GMFB with another signature segment we like to call Head Scratchers. Confusing situations from a Sunday in football. Manti, you are up first.

I'm up first?

Well, I'm going to go to that Lions-Packers game.

There was an official.

I don't know if you guys saw it, but Amonra St.

Brown gets tackled.

I don't think Amonra thought he was down. The whistle wasn't blown, and he continued to run after. Well, as he's trying to do this, Amonra kicks the ref, and the ref gets hurt. He's on his back, and he throws his flag from his back.

Look at it.

Look at the effort.

By the ref.

He's mad.

Look at it.

He gets kicked right in the stomach by Amonra.

He hits the floor.

Right there. He's down.

And then he's like, I still got a job to do.

Let me get this flag. Here we go. Off it goes. I feel like I'm reaching for my beer.

I'm on the floor reaching for my beer.

He called it. He called it unnecessary roughness.

I think he was calling it on himself.

Something was unnecessary rough to me on.

The football field as a ref.

That was my head scratcher.

Well, let me stay in that same game and talk about that head coach for the Detroit Lions right there. And that's Dan Campbell. You guys saw this. I could not believe it. Game time. And this guy went for it on fourth down. And you ran this play. You're pulling guards. And fourth down is short. You go straight ahead and try to get that first down. So that was my first hand scratcher. And then I just didn't understand after all of that. They let him off the hook.

We had him, and you let him off the hook. That's what the Green Bay Padres did with jumping off sides like that. And look at this. I saw last week when the NFL guys were on Dancing with the Stars. Look at these guys.

Look at them.

They're on Dancing. The Detroit Lions were like Dancing with the Stars. Look at it. They were happy right there.

I got to admit, as a Bears fan, I did love to see it. I loved to see the Packers blow.

A game, man.

It felt good. For me, we got to go back. We talked about Scataboo a bit. We got to go back to Scataboo. We got to go back to that Texans game.

Look at this. Look at this.

This is Texas football.

That's what you do.

You lower down, you get the pad level low, and you.

Run through somebody.

That's how you play. That's what you do when they throw a flag.

You penalize a running back for playing the position the way it's supposed to be played.

What are we doing here?

That's 15 yards in the opposite direction.

That is insanity.

I cannot believe that that's what I'm supposed to do.

I agree with you, I'm agree with you, but you gotta let the defense bring that smoke too.

Yes, I'm all for it. As if you're allowed to run it over, let us run through you too, that's all we're saying. Absolutely, hey, you wanna take him out, take him out.

Hell yeah, listen, come on.

You got taken out, all right?

Seth, I need a favor, I need to borrow your sunglasses from mine.

You gotta take them.

Here's why, here, these are gonna look really weird on me, but not as weird as this. Bring up the picture, bring up a dude well into his 40s, just ice out of his mind.

Hell yeah. You know what? I'll have what he's having on that flight.

I don't even know where he is, what planet he's on. I know the Steelers are winning. And that is a guy born in like 1983, just decked out in diamond necklaces and.

Feeling good, baby. It's like me in these glasses right now. I feel so cool.

You look great.

I'll give him right back. But for like 10 seconds, I felt cool.

Thank you.

Kyle, I got an impromptu head scratcher. If you can come find me in the crowd, there's a signature segment we used to do on GMFB. And look at what these two guys, is this a Halloween costume, Kyle?

It's Trent and Jarrett.

It's Trent and Jarrett from old school. Peter Schrager, shout out Big Day with Peter Schrager. And Kyle Brandt, send them off.

Sell them, guys, sell them. You got to make money here. Come on. Ah, yeah, right, right, right.

Come on.

Get to the gym. Get your cypress.

Go, go, go, go, go.
