Reality with the King is hosted by me, Carlos King. I'm an executive producer who have produced some of your favorite shows from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, New Jersey, and my own creation, the Love and Marriage franchise and Bell Collective. Every episode, we recap reality television from the Real Housewives franchise to to The Bachelor or Selling Sunset, in addition to celebrity guests, whether in the unscripted space or scripted as well.
Hey, Raindrops.
On today's episode of Reality with the King, we are getting into the Real Housewives of New York City, Honey. This episode, baby.
Hey! Let's get into some things.
So the girls are in Mosquito, an island that Erica and her billionaire husband have some stake in. So Erica being a billionaire's wife.
Listen, baby, this is what I want to see. No shade.
I want to see wealth. I want to see something that reminds us of like, wow, we all can dream. I have a dream. Shout out to MLK. Like, you know, dream girls, Jennifer Hudson.
Okay. What a dream. What a dream. What a dream. What a dream. Okay. So sorry.
I got distracted because I was thinking about me on an island and And I don't care if seven other couples own it or families or people.
An island is an island is an island is an island. Okay.
So the girls own an island. And while this is happening, we learn.
That Cy found out while she was packing that her husband filed for divorce.
That he officially filed for divorce. We have been watching all season. So we already know that they were having marital problems. But the gag of the gag is he actually filed and he filed behind her back. If you did not catch the Roni after show, Cy told Jessel and Haley that what happened was her aunt watches the kids.
Like that's one of the people who helps her with the kids. And that while her ex-husband was coming to get them, While she was on this trip, he kept asking her, like, when are you leaving?
When do you leave? Blah, blah, blah.
And it wasn't until he got the kids that she learned he filed.
So she felt it was very calculated. Look, which it was. And she's dealing with this as she's on this trip. One of the things that Cy was saying, and I'm going to fast forward to the dinner. She opened up about the filing.
And in this moment, you could tell that she's really sad about it, although she's not surprised that.
He actually did it. Because, again, they were having marital issues.
The thing when it comes to size X, he knows she's filming.
And I got the sense.
That he just wanted to embarrass her for the show. Like, that's what he wants.
He wants to embarrass her. He's disgruntled.
And the reason why it's unfortunate that we're not hearing his POV is because I really.
Want to know what happened.
When a man is doing this to you, of his magnitude, something happened to where he feels justified. I'm not saying he's right. I'm saying in his mind, he feels justified. And obviously, Psy, who kept this a secret from us, their marital issues, since she's been on the show, no shade, Psy is not telling us everything. Because all the things she told us in last week's episode, like he used my credit card to pay for my birthday dinner. Like that's a fucked up thing to do. But what else was happening besides that? Because that's an argument, not necessarily a separation. And then she tells us like, you know, they had no chemistry.
Okay.
That causes couples therapy, not necessarily a separation.
Okay.
Something happened. And I feel like Psy is not telling us everything. And she's only telling us things for us to be on her side, which I understand because it's her show. But I think the biggest thing for me is I need to hear her side of the story. Because this behavior in my opinion, is of a man who is upset with her because she did something too in his eyes, okay? I'm not blaming her. Before y'all say, oh my God, I'm not blaming her. I'm saying in any marriage, they both have a PLV and I'm interested in his. I actually am shocked that he hasn't said anything And maybe because he just wants to be free from her, the business of entertainment and the show. So, yeah, I'm just curious what's going on. So, with that being said,
there on this island is gorgeous. Erica is showing us more of her personality. Our girl likes Taco Bell. She got drunk at her wedding. And during the reception, she's making a drunk toast. Her husband's embarrassed. I like hearing this story because for me, it goes to show you that Erica has personality. She's a gorgeous girl, hot body and all those things. But it also shows you how much fun she has. And I think she is a great addition. I think she's fantastic. And she's very likable on top of that. So I'm loving Erica this season.
During this moment, Daisy.
Talks to Aaron, okay?
Daisy tells Aaron that Jessel made the comment about perhaps.
There was insurance fraud that occurred in the Hamptons' home. And Aaron is upset. She cries. She walks away.
She talks about how, you know, this isn't true. They don't have money problems. Because that was the reason why, you know, Jessel made reference to why she did it.
Allegedly why she did it.
And Aaron's pissed. And one thing Aaron said that I got to call her out on as I get into later in the episode. is when she said, I would.
Have never done anything that low. So, raindrops. Let's put a pin in that.
Because I'm about to remind y'all what she did that I felt like, Erin, I like you.
You're my favorite.
Although Erica is slowly becoming mine.
Um.
But I'm going to have to read you too, boo. But that's later. Okay.
So she's upset. And listen, I get it. Who wants to be accused of insurance fraud?
And the thing is this. When it comes to Housewives, I got to be honest with you. And this may be unpopular.
I'm all about a good shade. I hate it when Housewives throw out these accusations without any proof.
Because it sticks.
And it stays with the housewife forever. If it's true, that's one thing. Where's the receipts, right? I don't like shady housewives who just throw things at the wall because it's a good moment and it's shady.
It's a very dangerous game.
And the reason why I won't ever see for Jessel, who I do think Based on what I'm seeing on the show, once again.
Gorgeous girl.
She's faker than a $ 2 bill. I don't know if her dress is from Shein, but one thing I do know, her personality is from Shein.
It's fake. It's phony. It's fabricated. Okay? It's a hand-me-down. I'm just saying. I ain't feeling it. I ain't feeling it. I think that's gross.
And I think Jaisal just does anything for attention. I don't like Jaisal at all.
No shade.
I think she's I don't think she's good TV. Jessel is the most inauthentic woman on television. She looks into the camera. She always makes these shocked faces. Whenever Eric gets back at her with a read, she looks surprised because she has nothing rehearsed. She's going through her glam squad and she's wondering, oh my gosh, what.
Should I have said?
And that's why all of her reads never land.
Because she never has anything to say in the moment. So that's that.
Now, getting back to Aaron. Aaron, I like you.
You definitely tried it.
You can't say that what Jessel did was low and you would never do anything low. Because while you and Daisy were caught on a hot mic, Y'all called Erica's island home a dump.
Daisy says that Martha Stewart would not be impressed.
Daisy talks about how they don't know how to decorate, they don't have style, and questions why they did not fly private there.
That was gross.
Gross.
Tell us how you really feel, honey. I don't like that one bit.
The fact that Erica's husband is a billionaire doesn't mean she has the right to use his money to impress you broads. That's why some of you girls end up broke, end up in situations where you, I mean, no shade.
And this is no shade.
That's why a lot of these housewives find themselves in situations where they owe money to people, places, and things. Whether it's hairstylists hate to read, allegedly. Whether it's Tax Fifth Avenue. Or whether it's their mortgage. Because they're living outside of their means. Flying private just to go to an island is a dumb ass choice to make.
And I'm proud that Erica did not feel the need to impress you ladies.
To fly private to an island, her husband and her own.
Regardless if it's a timeshare, because it was giving that.
No shame.
However.com I'm impressed with the fact that Erica doesn't really need to impress anybody. The audience, the production, let alone these ladies who have AMC Theater's popcorn ceilings with a dash of salt, light butter.
At the concession stand. No shade. And y'all know I love Daisy. But I got to call it like I see it. I didn't like that either. I thought it was very mean. and very unnecessary. Speaking of very mean and very unnecessary, we have to get into the comment that Aaron made. While Daisy was shading the hell out of the island and the home, Aaron said she thought it was a private island, but it's a house on an island. That was low. And Aaron, you deserve to get dragged for that. Because.
How dare you talk about somebody's home when your home was just flooded?
Your half of this home is on an island because it's full of water. No shade.
Right?
Your half of this home. It's a Titanic. It's underground. It's under siege.
So to talk about, well, I thought you had an island, not a house on an island. No shade, Aaron, I love you. You don't even have a house anymore. And that's sad. But you can't sit up there and one scene cry about someone saying you committed insurance.
Fraud and you lost family photos and heirlooms.
And then being someone's house owner dissing their situation.
It felt very elitist, and I didn't like it. The shit was low. Like, you stooped that low. Like, Heather DeBro low. How low can you go low? Hey, Lula Chris. Low down, dirty shame low. Hey, Keenan Ivory Wayans. Like, the shit was low.
So anyways, Erica's bubbly self is like, hey, ladies, we're going to have dinner. It'll be inside the pool, but look great. Just don't wear heels because I want you all to know that your feet will be planted in water.
Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Okay?
So at dinner, Daisy asked Erica if she owns an island. And that's when Erica reveals that seven families own a piece of it and they all share it together from the pool, the tennis court, et cetera. So look, it is giving time share, but who gives a fuck?
She owns it.
Regardless, she owns it with one people, seven people. She's not owing it to the IRS.
So she owns it. And we love that for her. But in that moment too, it was sort of like, uh, It looks a little shady.
And then they get to the conversation where Psy opens up more about her, you know, her husband falling for divorce and all the things and how it hit the press before she had any knowledge of it.
Hailey says, hopefully he doesn't go after you for alimony, which I'm like, shit. Okay.
And Carol's like, look, bitch, they need to abolish men. from falling for alimony, unless they can show proof that they are taking care of the family, the household, and everything else. Cut back to the scene where Daisy says that a lot of her female friends make more money than their men, looks at Erica and says, not including you.
Daisy, what the fuck?
Oh.
Girl, you barely have a house. You barely have a kitchen. And this is no shade.
Just because you do Martha Stewart makeup doesn't mean you are Bobby Brown. Not the new edition singer. I'm talking about the cosmetics icon. You don't even have a makeup line from Fenty. you don't have a makeup line from Mario who does Kim K's makeup. All of your access to this other world, it's courtesy of you being a plus one to Martha Stewart where you are a tax write-off from her enterprises because you put makeup on her face.
And although being a makeup artist is a talent and it's a skillset and I love all the people who do it, I don't think you make more money than your husband by doing makeup. Whether it's $ 300 or $ 3, 000 rent stabilized apartment, I just think it's super nasty to look at Erica and say, well, not including you.
And yes, she has a rich husband. What is wrong with having a rich husband? He loves her. She loves him. They look like they have fun together. And that's her partner. And I'm sorry.
God forbid something happens to his money, she's on the hook too because that's his wife.
So his money is hers.
So not only are you low-key jealous, because that's what it is, you're jealous that this woman has a billionaire husband.
And you think because.
Of that, the red carpet should be laid out for you when you don't even have carpet to lay out in your shoebox.
Of an apartment.
You barely have an apartment. You have an AMC theater. Your kitchen is a concession stand. Like, it's no shade.
I didn't like that.
And y'all know I like Daisy, but I gotta be fair.
All's fair in Real Housewives. You know what I'm saying? Like, I got to be fair.
I thought Daisy and Aaron were super gross this episode. And I'm all for, like, some cockiness when it comes to the girls. But it was something nasty and elitist about it. And the only person who I think I would have been like, all right, maybe you can say it, is Carol. Because Carol's been around the world, okay? and have seen things, been in castles. Like, Carol is a part of the wealthy elite in New York City. I know her car doesn't look like it, but that's because she takes care of herself and her money.
But Carol's been in the rooms, child.
So Carol, to me, was the only one at that table that could have made those comments because she's been around that world before. Carol's just happy she gets to put on her polo sweater, Daisy Duke's, and get to eat with the girls and got her job back.
Just saying.
So Erica says, like, look, I am still a successful person of my own. And then Daisy's like, you know, I know I have a popcorn partner. And Erica gathers with, yeah, from the ceiling.
Yes. Read her. Gag her, Erica.
Yeah.
Get her again for me. Woo! Pow!
How you like me now? Then Daisy says, oh, okay. I expected that dig from Jessa. And Jessa's like, why? Like, I didn't say anything. And she's like, because when it comes to something she loves, she loves her place.
Just like Jessa loves her fashion.
And she would be offended if with her calling Jussel's fashion Shein.
Which, by the way, Shein, in case you girls don't know, or guys, or gays, or theys, that's.
Like the, not poor man's Carlos, that's like the, it's a knockoff, ripoff version of a fashion house that takes the idea of, you know, Gucci, Louis, all these things, and they make a cheaper version of it that costs $ 10, child.
So, that was the.
Dig that, you know, Daisy had to say.
Which, by the way, I thought was funny.
It starts raining, the girls go in their corners, and baby, this is when things got hot. Because Aaron feels the need to now confront Jessel and Erica about what Daisy said to her about the insurance fraud claim. Jessel gagged when confronted by Aaron. And she's like, what do you mean? I didn't say that. I said, I mean, what did I say?
Like, sorry, girls. You were there, too.
I'm going to have to call you out. I'm not taking this down without a fight. And Jessel was like, well, Daisy, you were there, too. You were saying shit. And Aaron's like, no, she told me she defended me. And in Daisy's defense, Daisy never told you she defended you.
Now, here's the deal.
I love the fact that we have the flashbacks because, for me, it did show that look.
Okay? All I'm saying is, no shade.
Daisy....
You definitely may not have said insurance thing, which just so that means insurance scam, please. But you also added some hot sauce to it. And I did appreciate the fact that they show Daisy.
Laughing at it, which is fine.
If someone cracks a joke, don't blame my funny bone for laughing along with the joke at someone else's expense. So that part, I did not see a problem with. But the tricky part is the fact that Daisy added two cents. Like, yeah, then the Chanel bag she buys. That's the part that I was like, oh shit, Daisy, you look crazy. So Daisy's like, no, fuck that shit.
I never said I defended you. I didn't say insurance thing. And Aaron's like, well, what did you say? And Justin's like, I said insurance thing. That's what I said. Which, again, you're inferring she had an insurance scam. Aaron said, well, I lost my house, but you don't know what that feels like because you never owned a house.
Yes! Now, Aaron, you back on my list, bitch. That was a good read. I was here for it. I loved it. It was funny to me. I enjoyed it.
And I thought to myself, like, okay, that was good. But here's the gag. The gag for me is this, honestly. What information does Erin have on Jessel? Because in this episode, she did intimate that she knows some crazy things about Jessel that she has known for a couple of years. And because of that, she's never said anything. But that if she keeps pushing her, she's going to reveal it.
I feel like this is about to be a Lisa Rinna and Kim Richards moment about the husbands.
What secrets do y'all think Erin has on Jessel? Me personally, I think it's about her husband. Personally.
But raindrops, let me know in the comments what you think. Once again, this episode, great.
Loved it. Roni is back. I'm here for it.
Speaking of back, I'm happy to announce that starting next week, Dustin Ross will be joining me to recap this season of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Yay! Yay!
Dustin and I will be recapping the rest of Roni season.
Raindrops. Get ready for laughs. Because this is about to be good.
