Your favorite literary chaos agents Abby and Ronnie are back with their most forward-looking episode yet - Onyx Storm: Book Four Predictions Part 1! Just when you thought they were done with the Empyrean series, they've returned for one last wild ride through their theories before moving on to their next adventure.
We kick things off with the clip that broke booktok - Sarah J. Maas's announcement that the first “drafts” for the next ACOTAR book are done! Was it an arrow? Was it an 8? Was it something else entirely? Then we dive into our actual predictions for Rebecca Yarros's fourth Empyrean book. Despite promising we were done with Navarre for the time being, we just couldn't resist giving you what you asked for - a comprehensive theory roundup and prediction fest!
First, we explore how Book Four might begin, with Violet struggling to establish her legitimacy as the new Duchess of Tyrrendor (it won't be smooth sailing). We predict constitutional crises, assembly resistance, and potential war with Navarre looming on the horizon. Meanwhile, we theorize that Xaden has captured Berwyn and is torturing him for information about controlling his urges or breaking the Venin's control. And poor Tairn? We think he'll be recovering from his injuries for a while, leaving Andarna to step up as Violet's primary dragon connection.
Then we map out the geographical settings for Book Four, predicting a journey that takes us back to the Isles (particularly Unnbriel and Loysam), across the Emerald Sea (possibly to find the gods?), and potentially to Cordyn for a bargain with Tecarus. We debate whether Violet will leave someone in charge of Tyrrendor (Llewellyn? Brennan? The assembly?) while she searches for Xaden or the missing eggs.
Our death predictions get dark as we discuss who might not survive Book Four - with Ridoc, Dane, Talia, and possibly even Tairn on our list of potential casualties. We also identify our most pivotal characters for the next book, including Aaric (the pre-cog who knows way more than he's letting on), Bodhi (either as "the brother" or Violet's supporter), Mira (with her mysterious legacy from Lilith), Dane (possibly a Venin offspring?), and Imogen (who knows what happened during those missing twelve hours).
Our plot twist predictions will blow your mind! We dive deep into Norse mythology to explore what Fen Riorson's name might reveal about Xaden's lineage, theorize that Violet will learn to walk into minds while awake (not just dreams!), and suggest that Asher might have been a secret Irid rider who manipulated time. Plus, we predict the next book's title will start with "Silver" - maybe Silver Thread or Silver Shroud?
This episode is basically one giant Precog Corner where no theory is too unhinged and no detail goes unanalyzed. We're wrapping up our Empyrean coverage (for real this time!) before launching our ACOTAR season on August 11th, so don't miss Part 2 next week!

I feel like we have to start with whether it was 6 to 8 or 6 in an era. I knew. I knew. I was like, all right, I gotta look at all these pictures. I feel like we have to, right. I did screenshot and zoom. I don't know. It looks like how I could draw my arrows. Do you remember the dress, like from a couple of years ago?
The dress that was black and blue, but that was also white and gold, of course. Yeah, a couple of years ago. I feel like that was like, OK, maybe it was a decade. Ago. I think it was a decade ago. I feel OK so I and I swear to God this is true. I swear to God this is true. I started seeing that dress, white and gold. When I first saw that dress I was like that is a white and gold dress and then I saw a different picture and I was like, Oh no, that is a black and blue dress and I could never get my vision back to white and gold. Interesting.
I think it is black and blue. I think that's what it was. No, I think it's white and gold we're not doing. Whatever, doesn't matter. That is exactly what has happened to me with this fucking arrow like. I saw you saw it as an arrow or you saw it. I saw it at first I was like, that's an 8, that is an 8, That's how I draw my eights. That's a fucking 8.
And now I'm like, no, it could be an arrow. I don't think it's 6D. No, I don't know. I think it's I, I think it's either an arrow and she whited out. I think that's what happened, like I think. Blacked it out of the photo so that we couldn't see it or it's an 8. OK, I also feel that we should provide contacts for our listeners because in our timeline, this happened 2 days ago. In their timeline, this happened 2 to 4 weeks ago. Two weeks ago.
We are in fact, freaking out about Sarah J Mass's random reel that the drafts, plural, broke the fucking Internet. That's where that's the. Time plane that we are in. Yes. So for us, this has happened in the past 48 hours. For you guys, maybe this question has already been answered. That's how time works. I I don't know, I really think it's a six with an arrow, possibly to a name.
That's probably a six with an arrow as well, but I can't make sense of drafts. So is there like, is the six and an arrow pointing to something else? That's like where it ends. Maybe it was like a six and an arrow to Crescent City, Something else that she's not announced yet, I don't know. Well, here's my thing too.
Like what? OK, we know how fucking long these books are, right? So what was actually in that single composition? Nope, because it wasn't a draft of this book. I feel like it was the outline way too long what she wants to happen. Yeah, it's got to be like a like, like a type situation. Yeah. And I don't know, writing processes. I'm not an author.
Yeah, I think, I think you're right. I think it's a guitar 6-2 something. And we don't know what the something is. Yeah. Anyway, this is not an episode about ACOTAR guys. This is still an imperial episode. We're talking. About the Imperial series in this episode, however. I do think last episode we said it was our last period episode, but we lied to you. We didn't know we were lying to you, but you guys came back and you said, wait, we really want you to do book 4 predictions slash a theory roundup.
And we heard you and we said, OK, you win Internet, we can do that. So so we're back 4 predictions episode. We're back. We're back baby. Just when I thought we were out. Hello, I'm Ronnie. I'm Abby. And this is Dragons in the Details, where we pick apart our favorite fantasy series over the course of an undetermined number of episodes. Truer.
Words have never been said because we clearly I have not determined. I think we outlined maybe 14 episodes where we started this season and we will be at 22 when we'll be at 22. So, but I think we'll actually be at 22. I mean, famous last words because we have said this before, but I think we'll be wrapped with the season after. These next two, I think so.
I think so. As much as I love this series, I think it is, I think it's time to move on. For our listeners, I think it's time to move on. We hear your feedback. We did get some comments this week that we're like, you guys are running out of things to say here and shit's getting crazier and crazier.
And I was like, I hear you. I feel like we've been very upfront about that. We're like, there's really not much left to say. Here. Yeah, indeed. But we'll we'll do these two episodes and then we'll call it a day. We will. Then we'll pop some champagne in front of some mountains that look like Valeris, we'll shut our composition books, and we'll send the Internet into a tizzy.
A tizzy? Just like the best of us do it. Yeah. So yes, this episode is still focused on the Empyrean series by Rebecca Yaros. This is actually actually going to be our last two episodes of this season. We're doing a 2 parter. So as Abby mentioned, we got some comments asking us to do some predictions on book four, kind of recap some of the theories that we have talked about.
So we are going to do that in these next two episodes. We'll probably also, just candidly, if this is all still happening in two years, right, we'll do our theory recaps ahead of the next book release, but this is going to close kind of our current chapter so that we can all move on from this. Book until we have to. Until we have to reread it ahead of the next class. So quick disclaimer, these episodes will contain spoilers up through Onic Storm.
If you've not finished Onic Storm, please save this and come back later. And also, due to the contents of the series and who we are as people, this podcast is rated R and should only be listened to by mature audiences. Please do not listen with your children. Yeah, this is before predictions. This episode is about Book 4 predictions.
We outlined it in a similar way that as we usually do, we've got some questions for ourselves that we're going to answer. These are not like, at least for me, I'll let Abby speak for herself here, but for me, these are not official, incredibly theory heavy predictions. Obviously we've gone through a bunch of theories behind them and I kind of pulled back on those, but these are mostly kind of fun off the cuff thoughts on what happens in the next book, and we'll see how true they come in 2027. That's fine, yeah.
I mean, I've said this before, I'll say it again. I need to walk away from this for a little. While we need to, yeah, we need to move on a little bit with her, yeah. Maybe just go? For a few days without thinking about this series would be would be welcome. That being said, that being said, we have been starting someone asked us on Instagram the other day, when are you guys starting ACUTAR?
When is that officially happening? So that our our first ACUTAR episode is going to be August 11th. We are putting together a really awesome season for you because I personally am so excited to dig into ACUTAR, not only because it's a new book, which obviously I'm excited about, but I think what the, and this is classic what happened with Imperium 2. But basically I went back on the reread and I'm like, at first I was like, I don't know what we're going to talk about. We talked about this like, I don't know what we're going to talk about.
It seems pretty straightforward. And then of course, you go back. You're like, Oh my God, what is this? What is that? What the fuck is more? What the fuck is Azrael? What's going on here? And it's great. So our official release date for season 2 is August 11th. So if you have started your rereads, try to get them done before August 11th.
If you haven't started your rereads, it's probably too late for you. I don't know that you're going to get all these books done in a month, but I. Don't think you will. Come join us, whatever. Especially by the time this is out. Yeah, then it's only like 2 years. Sorry, you know, as we've said before, it's a podcast, it lives forever. We don't do the chapter by chapter, so you can join whenever you want.
You don't have to listen to the episodes in order. Same thing as Imperian. And we are, as previously mentioned, going to stick to the format where most of the episode is going to be ACOTAR focused. And then at the end of the episode we will have a section that's the larger Sarah J Mass universe. So we will not spoil it for you.
We're going to do our darndest. We will edit things out if we have to. I hate when people spoil things for me. So we are not going to spoil anything for you outside of a guitar. Within a guitar, anything is fair game. So don't come at us being like, oh, I've only read the first a guitar book. What's going on?
Like, I don't have any. I have nothing to say to you in that case, but yeah. And then do. You want to give a very exciting announcement, Ronnie? Sure, we don't do tons of socials related announcements on this pod, but we do have, as we say at the end of every single episode, if you make it to the end, we do have Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, all the socials and this past week we hit 5K on TikTok. So thank you so much.
That's so crazy that that 5000 people actually care. Like TikTok is a very opt in as you wish kind of platform. And so the fact that 5000 of you pressed follow on our TikTok is insane. So thank you. Yeah, we appreciate you. Thank you so much. We appreciate all of your I will say I wake up in the morning and I go obviously to our TikTok and I am immediately hit with like 35 plus comments notifications and then I have to like go through and see what all of you. So just know that I start my morning with you every single morning.
I also start, I also start my morning with you on Instagram. I drink my coffee and I respond to Instagram comments. It's kind of my thing and it's nice. It's lovely. We love it so. We love it. That's great. So yeah, that was my announcement. Corrections, omissions, social media shout outs. Abby, do you have any to share with the class?
I do. I have two. So I'll start with my correction. And this is my bad. This is on me. In our marked Ones fantasy draft episode, we talked about Arik knowing that Zaden had killed Alec, right? And we're like, how does he know? And we said that confrontation happens before threshing, so it's not his signet. I was wrong, it happens after threshing, but it only happens 3 chapters after threshing.
And that's not really how RX signet works right? It's not really a precog thing, it's more of a knowing the past thing. So I still don't think it's our signet. It's for all intents and purposes. I think the question still remains. But I was wrong. It was not before threshing. Well, and I think maybe that's my bad. I think I asked.
Like the event itself happened before RX threshing, certainly. It happened during Zayden's threshing, right? So it happened during Zeidan's threshing. So I think like the point that we were making, at least the point I thought we were making. So maybe this is my bad. I should have clarified. Is that whole thing happened before Arik had a signet. Like he couldn't have used his signet to see that. Now could his dragon have told him? Like, sure, but Tarana said the Dragons don't gossip about their ride.
Exactly. So yeah, I still think it's a very valid mystery. Yeah, someone did say someone was like, oh, well, maybe Molvic told him. And I'm like, I don't think Dragons do that. That's not really what happens, right? Because Segail didn't even tell Taryn that Zidan had a second segment. I don't think Molvic is going around being like, hey, by the way, Zidan killed your brother.
Like that just doesn't really seem to fit within the Dragons that we know. Yeah. But yeah, so that's my correction. I have an omission social social media shout out as well. So this was on our clip about our Aetos theory. What the what the name Aetos means and how that fits into the larger Zaidan, Violet, Dane narrative.
If you haven't heard it, it's on one of our draft. I think it's in our Iron Squad fantasy draft episode. It's a good theory. Basically, Aetos is a name in Greek mythology. There's a lot of parallels with Zeus and Hira and Satan and Violet and Dane. A user named Behaving Spy pointed out Zeus is also the lightning wielder. Not sure if this was mentioned outside the clip. I'm sure it was.
And Zeus being the lightning wielder, because Zeus is our Violet parallel in that theory. Yeah, it wasn't mentioned because they forgot about that, but you're totally right. Yeah. And I think it adds another layer to this that it works. So hopefully Zayden does not turn Dane into an eagle. And you should go listen to our theory. You don't know what we're.
Talking fingers crossed for our boy Dane. But we do the the theory is setting us up for Zayden potentially harming Dane, which wouldn't be great. Yeah. But we will see what happens, yeah. Yeah, it's interesting that you didn't even call that out because I I definitely processed that as part of your theory, the Zeus.
I I didn't even think about it so. But I think does does Zeus do storms? Should I Fact Check myself on this? Well in the Disney movie musical classic Hercules that we just watched, he throws lightning bolts. I didn't like. Check the actual Greek mythology. Please hold Zeus rules the sky I. Love it, I love it.
I love it when a plan works out when. A good plan goes together. Yeah, no, I totally, I think it's a great call out and I think I love it. Like, I'll get into a little bit of mythology on this episode too. I think fantasy authors in general, not limited to Rebecca Yaros, love to pull on on mythology. Like, yeah, it's, yeah.
It adds meaning to names in a really like, easy way that's not super obvious all the time. So I I totally think you're on something there. Yeah. I love it as a podcaster because it just gives us so much more to work with and so much to kind of dive into, so it's great. Yep, we love it. We love it.
Maybe I'll start with my Alec related social media shout out because you mentioned your correction on ARC. We got a bunch of people coming out of the woodwork with these crazy Alec theories off the back of our clip about not knowing how Arik knew that Satan killed Alec. There was a commenter who thought Zaden left him for dead but didn't make sure he's dead. Maybe he's still alive.
Alec and Holden are twins right? So we don't. I don't think we know whether they're identical twins or non identical twins. I don't think that's been clarified anywhere in this book, but there are people wondering. Did Alec kill and imprison Halden and has been posing him ever since out of revenge because he lost both the King's power and a dragon dragon slash signet power people pulled?
In the quote, Violet says that Halden looks at me like he's never seen me before, and Terrence says because he hasn't. I think that is more related to the fact that Violet has changed really significantly since she's joined the writer's quadron. But it's a fun play on words. And the reason that some of our commenters arrived at this theory is because the exchange between Arc and Zaden about Alec's death is interesting, and that all Arc says is you have no idea what he did to Alec.
And Zaden says your brother was a Craven, murderous prick and I'm not sorry I killed him. Arc never said that Alec is dead. I don't know, kind of fun, kind of different. Wanted to call it out because of how many people think that Arik and Holden and Alec are important as three siblings and also could be related to the sibling that Berwyn is using against Satan.
I have two thoughts, let me make sure I remember both of them. One of one is if. If Taryn said that if people are using Taryn as evidence of this being Alec and not Holden, then Terry knows and once again is not telling Violet and I don't know why he would not tell Violet that like. Also, Calleden's not a writer like.
Sagal would definitely know because Sagal was literally there, right? It was all happened to Threshing because Alec came after Garrick. Yeah. And like, honestly shame on Alec for thinking that he could come after Garrick the human barge and live that. Was my second point. How fucking delusional do you have to be to go after Garrick? Insane.
Like, have you seen him? I mean, we've not seen him. He's a. Fictional character. He's a book. Have you heard of this man? He's huge. Yeah, right. So like, what the fuck was Alec thinking? I think I don't know that we'll get more, but there's certainly a lot of. I guess we will get more because Rebecca posed the question of how does ARC know?
So I think we will get more. Yeah. It's my first book for prediction right there. That we'll get more about Alec of that's yeah yeah, I agree I agree so that was a fun shout out and then some just corrections and omissions about the infamous or at least it's infamous on TikTok. Fen is a live theory so we posted a precog corner theory and the first thing I'll say about it is it is crazy it's a precog corner theory.
I beg you to please stop freaking out about it it's not that deep. However, there were a couple of omissions that we did not talk about that I want to call out. So for context, we talked about a precog corner theory that Fen was a alive and being imprisoned. And the reason we arrived at fan is because we think that Berwyn is Zaden's biological grandfather, which I want to talk about later in this episode.
But the first and biggest argument that everybody immediately flocked to relate to this theory, which I don't disagree with, is that Zaden has a rebellion relic. So of course Fenn is dead. Zaden has a rebellion relic that was triggered by the death of his father. Fair. However, I think the rebellion relic reveal, in my opinion, was very far from cut and dry.
In fact, it was pretty fishy the way that Zayden described. Extremely fishy. Extremely fishy. He said this particular rune was made to protect someone of my father's bloodline. That's what he said. And Violet says you. I look up and hand the stone back. You're his only child, right? And Zayden just nods, like, why would he say this is made to protect someone of my father's bloodline and then not actually say after Violet says you question mark, like, yeah, of course I'm his only son. What's happening here?
So I don't think that that's a Fenn is definitely a live type data point. But I do think it makes me wonder about the bloodline piece if it's just bloodline, like Bodie's mother would also qualify, right? Fenn's sister as someone who could die and trigger this rune. Exactly. I think the way that this works and again we're saying this is a pre cut corner theory, which I realized when we post clips on social media, we don't.
We don't. Disclaim that. Yeah, the corner. Yeah, but people, that's not going to mean anything to. Anyone. Yeah, we could. Right, so the the wording of the rebellion relic, which Rebecca made very fucking fishy, does mean that if if Bodie's mother was killed, Zaden would get the relic. Zaden and Bodie, right, Because it's a rune stone per person. Like Sloane and Liam both have relics even though only their mother was killed this way, right? It's not like one parent to one child. Yeah.
So we're not saying this is what happened, but we're saying that Rebecca has set it up so that she has the option for this to happen with the way that she chose to work things. That's how I'm seeing it. Totally, yeah. And I still think it's a crazy theory, but I think this means the relics do not necessarily mean direct lineage.
That being said, I I do want to talk about this later in the episode around our plot twist predictions because I've kind of rethought it, which we'll get to later. But this whole like arriving at Fen was driven by us assuming that Berwyn is Zaden's biological grandfather. And I'm rethinking that candidly.
So we'll talk about that in a bit, but I'm excited. I think it's necessarily untrue. I think he's Satan's relative for sure, but I'm not his grandfather. Yeah, we'll get to it. We'll get to it. So cool. Those are all of mine. So. All right. Should we dive in? Prediction time, Book 4 predictions. OK, the first question that we asked ourselves, I didn't record who would start, so let's just alternate. You can go first.
How do you think book four starts? All right, and I broke this down into our main 4 characters. So I have Violet, Zaden and Dharna and Taryn. I figured everyone else will kind of get to later. All right, So Violet, obviously Duchess of Tearing. Well, maybe not obviously, but seemingly Duchess of Tearing when this book starts. And I'm just going to go ahead and preface this right now. Like I don't think this episode, we're going to break a ton of new ground.
I think a lot of this is going to be talking about what we've already talked about, but we're kind of weaving it together for you guys. Hope you like it. All right, so we have Violet as Duchess and Tierndor I of Tierndor. I imagine this will not be a smooth transition of power, so to speak. I do not think everyone's going to be all fucking hunky Dory.
With Violet being on the throne of Tyran Dora, so I think we're probably dealing with some kind of constitutional crisis in Tyran Dora. I think that she's probably going to deal with resistance, most likely from the assembly. From what are their fucking names? Sorry, Ulysses. Ulysses. I think Felix might be OK with her.
Oh, definitely, but he's still there. Yeah, all those members of the assembly who at the beginning of Iron Flame were like, who the fuck is this bitch? We need to, like, put her in a jail cell. They're still going to feel that way. Yeah. I think on her side she will have Imogen, Brennan, Llewellyn and Felix.
I think those 4 will be in her corner, I think, and I'm not saying Bodie Org gear because I don't think that they're there. But I think that will be there, too. Yeah. I think we'll be like a sleeper defender of violence. I think she'll be a defender, but I don't think that will necessarily hold weight within Tyran Door. Like I think these are the the tearish. I mean, I know that Brennan's not Tearish, but he's become kind of a naturalized citizen of Tyran, the Tearish ones who will, who will support her.
So I think she's dealing with that. I also think, as we talked about, we think a war with Navarre is clearly coming to Tirador. So I think she's dealing with that. I think she will lead her and Taryn. There's always going to be Taryn, right? But her and Tan are going to lead the Tirish army because we know that Zaidan was leaving leading the Tirish army when he was Duke. I think these are where I do kind of get into loosey goosey. So I like I guess we do have new theories, but this isn't really deep dive or based on anything.
I think Violet might try to build another word stone in paromial just kind of out of the goodness of her heart. Like as we mentioned last episode, they have the journals now. So she knows how to do it. Obviously again, still she'll need to find an ear to do it. But I think we may see her trying to erect another word stone to cover more for Romeo. I also don't think we know if the wards in Arisha extend all the way to Tyran door, so I think that will be part of this plot.
I don't know if it'll be a big part or a. Small part of the plot. But I think we'll try to get the words all over for Romeo. My question is if Violets trying to recover her memories, I don't know that she will be. Obviously, she asked Imogen to do this. Right. Yeah, so like, if she asked Imogen to do this, does she trust her past self enough to know that there was a reason? Right.
But I do think she's going to be trying to find Zeta. So I think, I don't know. I don't know how those two things play out. But I at some point, obviously, I hope she recovers her memories. I hope we get those 12 hours. Yeah. I don't know how it happens. Yeah it makes me really sad to think about the the possibility that she won't ever get them back from her point of view. I think no matter what we'll get them back eventually through Taran.
But like Taran seeing I guess Taran can show people Violets memories including Violet from Violets minds eye because she did so when Amber Mavis broke into her room. Like Taryn didn't see that Violet saw that. That's what happens to Taryn's access to her memories when they get erased. I don't think we know that.
So like my bet is that's eventually how we get them back, but I don't know for sure. My bet is yeah. My bet is that Taryn still has the memories, even if Violet doesn't. Yeah, we can get into this more, but my bet is also that Taran is recovering for a long time. I don't think that we start book four with Taran away.
Yeah, I do. You want me to go into Satan and Dharna and Taran? Or do you have more stuff you want to talk about with Violet first? For the start of book four, yeah. I mean, I was pretty brief here because I was like literally trying to hypothesize where we start this book, like what the first few chapters are. So I took it maybe a little more literally. I think we start with a fight over the legitimacy of Violets claim to the Duchess of tier and or title. Like I can't we agree.
I think that's exactly where we are. I think there will be people who are on her side and very much against her. And then we can when we talk about violence, Aidan's relationship, we can talk about like what all I think transpires after that. But please go ahead with and Darnan. OK, so for Zaden, as we've talked about, I think Zaden, I think Zaden has Berwyn captured. I think Zaden captured Berwyn at the end of Onyx Storm. I think he is probably torturing him for information we have that he has something I need quote that might be dreamwalking. It might be the cure.
We don't really know. But I think Zaden's goal at this moment is to get that information out of Berwyn and we'll see him do it in book four. We may not like the way that he does it in book 4, but I don't know. He's becoming a darker and darker character. I think he's still looking for a way to control his urges or maybe if not even a full cure like I I don't think he's going to be out here channeling every other second like I think he's going to.
I think he's still going to be trying to mostly channel through. And I think that's part of why he brought these four riders with him, because I think, well, this only just occurred to me. He probably wants someone who can kill accountability. Yeah, But I mean, he probably wants someone who, if things go bad, And I think that someone would be Garrick, would and could kill him.
I don't think it'll get to that point, but I think that's why. And that means Bodie's the brother by the way, but because Bodie's the brother, but they brought Garrett for protection and then they brought someone else, maybe Dane, but yeah, someone who would kill him. So I think that could also be ruins. Could be the serum could be something we haven't thought about that would help him control his channeling. But those are kind of ways we know of how to do it. We have the RSC serum and then we have the runes on the ribos dead chest.
So all of those could be into play. I think he's also, I think he, and we've talked about this, either has done or we'll figure out a way to break that kind of chain of command, the control that the Ven and have over him, right? So we know that he calls theophony, he says regardless of her rank, right?
So we know he's kind of in that mindset at the end of Onyx Storm. But I think he's going to be looking for a way, if he has not already figured out a way to get rid of that so that he doesn't have to do what Berwyn tells him to do. That's Aiden and Dharna and Dharna better tell us what the fuck is going on with the ears within the 1st 50 pages or I will throw this book out of it.
I don't want any, I don't want any bullshit about this. I just want to know what the fuck is going on with the Eareds. I think she'll tell us what's going on with the Eruds where they are. I don't think they have a cure, but I think that we will learn some key history from them. I think they'll tell us more about like the original 6 firing the ward stone, why the Eruds, why they left and Darna behind, what all that was.
I hope we find that out pretty quickly and then maybe we learn more about time manipulation and bonds too. So maybe. Very beginning at the start of book. Within the 1st 50 pages. OK, sure. I mean, and Darna's been with them. What possible reason would she have? It would have to be something convoluted for her to not reveal this information, like, very quickly. Yeah, it's my thinking.
Yeah, definitely. I think Violet will immediately go into interrogation mode with whichever Dragons are awake and willing to answer her. Question. Yeah. Whether that's Taryn or Andorna, I think she's going to ask. I think we're going to find out really quickly some key questions like what's going on, who took the eggs, like who did this, who did that.
I think we will be asking the Dragons whether the Dragons answer us. I hope they do, yeah. Yeah. And then I think Taran is recovering. I think Taran is still asleep at the beginning of this book. And I think we kind of switched from Taran being the voice that is like primary with the Dragons to Antarna being that voice. I think, I think we're going to get a kind of replay of Aunt Darna's dreamless sleep, but this time with Taryn. And I think, yeah, I'm going to have to figure out how to kind of navigate without him.
Yes. I could see. I think that'll be true for the first few chapters. I struggle to see how it will be true for too long unless we literally just are in political turmoil in Arisha the entire time. Because if Taryn's unconscious, she can't wield lightning. So yeah, she's going to have to be just using and Darna's signet.
Like the signet that end Darna gave her and probably not in battle. Definitely not putting herself at risk with any venom when she doesn't have lightning. Yeah, I think that's all true if we don't have other theories at play here. But yeah, I think that makes sense. But I think this would be a good opportunity for her to also hone that signet, right, which we know she definitely, definitely. Yeah, definitely.
Cool. Cool. Right. OK. So the next question we asked ourselves is what is the geographical setting for this book, which can obviously be diverse because we know for damn sure that Onyx Storm did not take place in one geographical setting. So here's my prediction, and I tried to make the prediction comprehensive. So it just kind of all works together. I think we spend the beginning of this book strategizing in Tyrrendora, trying to figure out how to protect Herendora, like how to make sure that Violet's claim is legitimate, trying to figure out like where Zayden went, what's going on? What did the venom do?
Who took these eggs? Like we're just in Tyrndor figuring shit out for a little while. Violet will want to leave and go find Zadan at some point which is going to force her once she feels more comfortable to put someone in charge in her stead. I think she might pick Llewellyn. Llewellyn is still around and a viable option as far as we know. Like who knows what happened in the battle but maybe him. I could also see her leaving it to like the assembly right? Like, sorry Felix, that crew, what about? Brandon.
Brennan too, yeah, he's also in the assembly, right? So, yeah, true. That's where I think it gets interesting, right? Because if she if she's now protecting tier and or I don't, I just don't see her staying around, which I know like Zayden didn't either. So maybe that's fine. Like maybe she put somebody else in charge that she trusts. We know that Llewellyn has faith in her and Zayden, like we've heard fatherly things from him to Violet in terms of advice. So maybe she puts somebody else that she trusts in charge and then she goes.
I think then Violet leaves with a very limited subset of people, probably under the guise of doing something other than searching for Zayden. Because with the news out, I can't imagine anyone is going to be super big on his side here, except for whoever's left of the marked ones like Imogen, etcetera. So I think she's going to take off under the guise of some other mission, probably still related to Eurids or Venom or. Could she be looking for the eggs? The eggs?
Yep, sure, someone took the eggs. They'll all think it's Zayden. She's going off to find him using the eggs as kind of this cover up. And then I think we'll complete the journey of the aisles. I think we're going to go visit Loysm. I think we will also somehow be prompted to go visit Niara and Lucerus. And then Lucerus is off the Emerald Sea. So I think we're also going to do something with the Emerald Sea in this book.
It's off the coast of Lucerus. We know that we need to go talk to grandma and there are also these little aisles shown off the map in the Emerald Sea as well. So I think we're going to go on a little bit of a hunt for Zaden and the geographical setting of this book is going to follow that. I don't see us honestly spending a ton of time in Peromial as I think through what the actual plot of this book is. Maybe Cordon I put.
Cordon Yeah, I did put Cordon now because to Karis is king now, right? And I do think his seat of power remains in Cordon. I mean, I don't even know what the capital of peromial is. And I, I, she's going to need allies. So I feel like she's going to end up in some kind of Faustian quote, UN quote.
Bargain. I think the capital was Suniva. Suniva, OK, but Suniva fell, fell, right? Yeah, Yeah, right. So I, I do think, I do think Takaris plays a role. I think Cat plays a role with Takaris, obviously. But I think, I think there's some bargain that struck, right? Because we got all that foreshadowing an iron flame about a bargain, and it never really came to fruition. Yeah.
But now I do think she'll need just cordon support. Especially like, if they're in a war with Navarre, then they might need Peromis troops to help them. They might not, though. I mean, tearing doors pretty fucking big and powerful. You know they have an imperial now. I don't know. They have an Imperial now. Yeah, so we'll we'll see.
But I did have cordon on my list. Yeah, so I did put and I have a fun. I also put across the Emerald Sea, so I'm glad that you did too. I put the Emerald Sea for the aisles. I totally agree with you. I think we're going back, but I don't know that we're going back to every aisle. I think we're definitely going to Unbreal because we all sketchy Taryn was.
I think we're going to find out what the fuck that was about, especially if File is now dedicated to Dune. But we're going to find out that Taryn has some connection to Unbreal too, is my guess. I definitely think we're going to Loisome. I think we have to go back to Hidotis because I think we have to rescue Talia.
I think that Talia is a prisoner being held against her will. And I think we might. Interesting. I just don't think we leave Talia there. I don't think we abandoned. I think Talia continues to play a role in this. Yeah. Story for sure. OK, sure. Yeah, maybe we don't rescue her. But I I just. It feels like we're not done with the Talia chapter, and especially with our theory about Hidoto's being overrun by then.
And that feels not done. I do feel like Zahelna, we probably got everything we need from Zahelna. I don't need to go back there. We've got an army, so there's no reason we. Got an army, We got some weird fucking gifts. We'll see how those play out. I didn't include any of the gifts in my predictions because I feel like we already covered them.
If you want to hear about them, go list to our guides and Isles episode. Yeah, so I think we go to LOI some. I also think I literally have just lied to you. I'm terribly sorry. I'm about to include a gift theory. I think we've talked about if Malik has an aisle or has a territory. I think maybe he does, and I think maybe Violet's broken compass will lead us there.
That I could see as a better theory for the compass rather than finding Zeta because all we know is it doesn't point N but it does seem to point towards a specific. It's not like it follows Aiden around as he moves right? Like I think it's always pointing in one. Direction. A gift from another God that points to another God's territory.
OK, I'm into it. I don't know. I don't know about it but I'm into it if it happens. It's kind of an off the cuff, off the cuff theory, but like it could be a secret aisle that is Malik's aisle. I could see the compass leading them there. Perhaps across the Emerald sea. So this is where I want to get into my across the emerald sea theory.
And for our listeners, just for context, we've been teased with Emerald sea a couple times. We have the epigraph about I cannot imagine life across the emerald sea. And then we have Dean studying emerald sea piracy in the 2nd century or something and it being really important. Rebecca Zayn literally says it's important.
So it's an. Important. Issue. It's an important issue. He's like defending himself against Violet, like right? You were too focused on the Emerald Sea piracy issue. Right. So I think that to us is this is supposed to show that it's important. Great call out on Laceras being next to the emerald sea.
We've postulated that the gods might be real. If they're real, they're somewhere, right? If they're in corporeal form. If they are real, I guess they don't need to be corporeal, but like they are somewhere, right? It seems very Mount Olympus asked to me. We're getting back to kind of the Greek gods here be across a sea that no one that life cannot sustain, right?
Like no life can live across the emerald Sea, but maybe the gods could and maybe Violet finds that out from we are or something, I don't know. But maybe there's a chance that the gods are living across the emerald sea on some kind of secret aisle and that's where they are. And that's why we go across the emerald sea to go talk to or see or recruit the gods. I don't know, Kind of, again, off the cuff theory, don't have a lot to back that up.
But that was kind of my thinking that if I were God and I wanted to make sure that the humans, the mortals never found me, that's where I would hide across the emerald sea. Thoughts. Questions. Comments. Concerns? Very much of the camp in the camp of the gods are active participants in this story. Like we know that Dunes vengeance is what leads to Theophanies death, so I believe that they're active characters. I struggle a little bit with like geolocating them outside of their temples, but I do think it's interesting to think about what's across the Emerald Sea, even if it's not the gods in physical form.
Yeah, just because it's just because we can't imagine life there doesn't mean there isn't. Life there, yeah, maybe a den of sea Dragons. That's a joke about the ear. It's coming from the water for. Everybody unclear. It is, yeah. So, yeah, I mean, I think that's the question. Like, do we have a Mount Olympus situation where there is actually a home of the gods, or are they just more like the tooth fairy and they just pop up when you need them? You know, I don't think we know.
We definitely don't know. We don't know. Yeah, in conclusion, still know nothing. We know nothing. Yeah. All right. OK, cool. How do you think we'll learn what's going on with Zayden? I have a very short answer for this one. I see two options here. We're either getting Zayden POV chapters, which is what I hope is happening, or dreamwalking, or him and Violet talking dreams.
I haven't thought of any kind of third answer here. Yeah. I really hope we get Zadan POVI don't know. I don't feel confident that we will. Like, it doesn't seem like Rebecca likes to drop in the Zadan POV's when something else is happening from someone's point of view that we're looking at. And we need to know what's happening in Zadan's head even though we can see him.
So I don't know whether we'll get POV's early on like that. It will help us understand what's happening with Zadan. But I do think that Violet will continue walking in his dreams and maybe not directly learn what he's doing, but learn what plagues him and like potentially just converse with him like they've talked in his dreams before.
When she shows up there, he's like, oh, you're here. And I think the reason I like that plot line for how we know that he's like still him through his dreams is I think it'll be her only evidence that's convincing enough that he is still him inside. But she won't be able to use it because it would force her to reveal herself as an intensic.
Like I think that plot layer will be really interesting because she's going to know and she's going to want everybody else to know. But she I can't say I'm in his dreams, that I know that he's still. I got killed. I also just I really like that. I also just had the thought about we've talked about how the venom seem to kind of share signets, right?
And we know that Berwyn is a dream Walker and we know that Zaden has kind of captured Berwyn at this point. So will Zaden himself learn how to become a dream Walker? And will he kind of find Violet that way and maybe even train her? But really sexy as hell. Yeah, and if there is some bond between Zaydan and Violet that exists, like does that strengthen when he turns so that he can still access her through it, that would be lovely too.
Yeah, yeah. OK. You know, I, I originally wrote I hope we're getting Zayda POV chapters, but I think dreamwalking, you've convinced me that dreamwalking is tighter. It's a better story if it's dreamwalking. I think it it will create more interesting plot lines. Yeah, I think you're right. You've convinced me. But Zayden Povs, look, I'll take them. If she's gonna throw them in there, I'll gladly, gladly take them.
Yeah, it's the greedy. I'm greedy, wanting Zayden Povs because I wanna know what's happening with him immediately. But it's better to not if. We don't, yeah, yes. Or if we know pieces and like, I don't know, I think we're both kind of over the do we? Don't we trust Satan? But I think that's coming for us in Book 4.
Alright, who do you think will die? I have a list for you. To. So I still, I'm going to start with the one that we've already talked at length about. I still kind of feel good about Riddick. He's reckless, he's unpredictable. We get a lot of signals that he's kind of next on the chopping block.
He's cheated death multiple times. He would be, he doesn't have a POV chapter. So for those who subscribe to the theory that a POV chapter means that you lived, we don't have that for Riddick yet. And I think he's just like kind of, he's not so consequential of a character that killing him would severely impact the plot, but he would be wrenching as a loss.
And it just feels up Rebecca's alley. He's a like Liam style character. We're just like, we all just love him. But killing him would make him as interesting as he is alive, if not more interesting. So I feel horrible about that, but I feel pretty good about it. Did you have Riddick as well? He did have Riddick, I was just about to say.
The other thing is his cygnet is not like crucial in the way that some other people have really crucial cygnets. However, we have gotten some theories on our Instagram that Riddick will be the key to keeping Violet from burnout when she, like, really needs to. Yeah. Yeah, like he will cool her down.
Yeah. So maybe I'm wrong. Maybe his segment is crucial. And obviously, he has now figured out how to freeze things with just a touch, which is awesome. Yeah. But I Yeah, it it just still doesn't feel quite as critical as like, summoning might be or as Earth wielding might be, or as even metallurgy might be with Sawyer, if we're getting into talking about the alloy, Right? It's like, where is where is Riddick's role here? But maybe it's just being Violet's cowboy, you know, cooling.
That's OK. That's OK too. We love a cowboy. We. Love a cowboy? Yeah, so Riddick was my first. The next one is a horrible thought and I really hope that it's not true, but I have a horrible feeling that Dane will redeem himself and then suffer or die. We have already lost several marked ones, but we've not really lost anyone in the squad yet.
Riddick would count, but I could see Dane being a sacrifice for Violet's sake, which honestly breaks my heart for Sloan. Like Sloan does not serve that. But really, really early on in the series, Violet says it's inevitable that one of us will have to bury the other. And I feel really bad about that. I think Dane is at risk here, but I also think he's he's also one of my pivotal characters that I want to talk about later. So I feel like he's going to be super important to the story too.
So I hope he's not important to the story because he dies, but I think it's it's a possibility. Yeah, so we've gotten someone commented somewhere that, like Rebecca said, secretly, obviously none of this is fact checkable, but Rebecca said Dane is going to be super important in the next book. I also hope it's not because of his death, but I fear if it it is because of his death, because of what we talked about with the Itos theory and the parallels that is dying, it is because of Zadan. It might not be directly because of Zadan, but Zadan somehow enables his death and that then it turns into Hunger Games. But like, Violet can't forgive him for it. I don't know.
That would suck. I would hate that so much. Suck. Yeah, But it's like, I don't know. If you are taking the Greek mythology route, then that is a possibility. I don't want it. Yeah. Yeah. Dane was also on my list. I would hate it. I would hate it, but I could see it. And then my third pick here, I have a fourth, but I don't really want to talk about it.
Actually I have 6. I have 6 people on my left. My third pick is Talia. I could see Talia dying for Zaden and and her other sons. I do not think that's true. Similar to what Lilith did. I think it's what every parent is doing in this series. Like fan has done it, Lilith has done it. I guess it is similar but in a way that like gives me more confidence in the trope that Rebecca clearly believes in. And Talia needs to be of use like we met her right? So I'm game for if she becomes useful in another way. But so far she seemingly has no talent, no magic. No, like seemingly she's, I'm not without magic, so who knows what she actually is or was.
It feels like her strongest use would be some sort of sacrifice for her sons. All of her sons. Yeah, I think it was our friends faithfully fantasy. They have a theory that Talia is from loyism and is dedicated to loyal and that Zeta is also dedicated to loyal and that's the gold Fleck eyes. That could be a way that she's useful. I guess if that theory holds water. I kind of think it's just a genetic thing, but I it could be.
Yeah. So that would be intriguing. Yeah. I I think no matter what, we come back to Talia. We can't just leave it like this. That would be pretty shitty. And Rebecca seems pretty fond of, like, that's what I'm looking for. She is very much a mother herself, right? I don't think so. She has a vendetta against mothers.
I think she will try to fix this relationship, you know? Yeah, despite her writing Willis into existence. Yeah, I think we get. I know I get. A Lilith redemption at some point too. In my opinion, Lilith is redeemed, but for those who are in doubt, yeah, she died to save them. Well, I think she's redeemed, but I think there's obviously still a lot of unanswered questions, many of which we talk about at length on this podcast, yes, that we need answers to.
Yeah, OK. Who else is on your list of who you think will die? All right. Well, obviously my number. 1/4 by the way. I know, I know, I know. Far more people die. Well, more important, people will die before the end of the series. I4 Dragons. Thank you. Taran dies this book. You think Taran dies in this book, Book 4?
You think we go through an entire book 5 without Taran? I think Violet has to like come into her own. I don't know. I I think he dies this book, but I'm not I'm. Not I think he dies at the end of the series. I agree with you that he that he's gone. My problem with Taran dying in book 4. I realize I just said this but then what the fuck does Sagal do?
Yeah, what does Sagal do? What does Violet do? Like if Taran dies in book 4 then I'm not saying this is impossible, but Violet at that point has to have another really lethal and effective weapon at her disposal against the venom. Like home girls take down a Goldie Wyburn at a time. Yeah, sure, but like that would mean the the wartime is over, or she's playing a totally different role in wartime.
I hear what you're saying. We'll table it. I don't feel, I don't feel confident enough that he dies in Book 4. I just feel like the thing with Taran is he knows too many things. So like he either tells us those things and the stories no longer is interesting or something prevents him from telling us these things. Right?
Like, and his death would be one of those things, but we'll see. I could be wrong, I just really I don't know about a whole book without him. I could see. Is that not how you felt about Dumbledore? Yeah, we weren't as reliant on Dumbledore for like. For magic. The main character's ability to have magic. Yeah, but we've talked about all the ways that Violet might actually be kind of wielding from terror. Like, she might just have the power of the sky, right? She might just be able to access that. She might be more in the power of doom. Yeah, like what happened on Unreal. Yeah.
I don't disagree with you that she might be perfectly like, fine and capable without tearing in existence. I just now that you've pulled in the Dumbledore parallel, I kind of feel like we're getting that with Zadan disappearing. Like, I don't know. Like Zadan, Zadan was our wise old sage and now he's not Zadan's.
Just like a character you thought you couldn't live without, and then he's gone and we're just living without. OK. Well, that's a good point. All right. So maybe not Sharon. We'll see. But maybe Taron, I don't know. Maybe I just don't want him to die in book 4. I don't want I don't want him to die.
I had re Obviously it's reorg Riddick. It's not both Rebecca has talked about. I think again, this wasn't her Denver stop and other people brought this up to on on socials. Like she doesn't like characters that don't have an arc and re already is kind of fully formed, right. So like, she's kind of served her purpose.
Yeah. What what's the point of keeping her around at this point? Which I agree with So I could see Bree leaving the other person. I will tease right now and I will get into why I think this later. Whoever the brother is, I don't think makes it out alive. I think the brother dies and I'll get into why I think that later.
Yeah I already agree with you though. Like that person clearly does not give a fuck about the value of their own life in this whole thing. I might think this for a different reason than you think it, but I don't think the brother survives, sadly. If it's Bodhi, I'm really sad about that. And then the last note I had, I think Aric makes it out.
I think Aric makes it to book 5. I don't think Aric dies in book four. I think. I think if he dies, he dies in book 5. I really hope he. Don't He's not on my way, you think? He's going to die, yeah, but it's a book five thing. There's just too much for him to do in Book 4. Yeah, if it's if it's a death, it's a book five death. So for for everyone, right.
We know that Aric said that he will fight and likely die in this war and then we find out he's a pre cog. So we have good reason to believe that there are many paths in which this man winds up dead. But I think he's probably not optimizing for paths in which he doesn't die. But he's still clearly sees somewhere he he survives, and I think we'll need him.
I think we need it in the book 5. Yeah, I think he survives to Book 5 for sure. Cool. All right, who will be the most pivotal characters in Book 4? I have a long list. I have I have 5 I have I. Have 1234. 567 OK, let's go character by character. If we both have them, then we'll talk about, we'll each talk about why we think they're pivotal. OK.
OK. We just talked about it, but my first one is ARC, of course, OK. Also my first. One moving on. I mean he he's obvious like he knows so much more than all of us. We just found out he's a pre guy. He has this very nihilist way about him. He's cat like. We all like him in spite of not really knowing him well at all. I think he'll either be in tier and or defending the shit out of Violet or he will have completely fucked off and is going to run his own plant.
Yeah, either one of those things, whether he's with Violet or Zaden, he's just very important. He's royalty, he's precog, he's got a very powerful dragon. And as we talked about, he knows about Zaden killing Alec. So he clearly knows a lot more than he's letting on, even about things that have already happened, right?
Not just about the future, but about the past. So and he says in Hidotis that he keeps his mouth quiet until he understands what's going on around him. Great point, So. And he seems to know about a whole nother continent. Like, he doesn't say, right, there's another continent. He says. Like, he says, like, arrogant of us when there are other continents. Yeah, which is crazy.
So obviously this man knows a lot what's going on about what's going on. My next one is Bodhi. Because I think he's the brother. Even if he's not the brother, so if he's with Zaid and he's the brother, obviously he's very important. He's going to go through all the Zaden, all the vet and shit that Zader just went through. We're going to have to deal with him, A, still being a pissy brat, which is my least favorite Bodie. I hate this Bodie, but B, he's going to also have a Sage to contend with and A, and a bond to a Sage to contend with, right?
Like he's going to have to deal with all that too. Zaden's going to have to deal with all that. That's really fucking annoying. Bodie, you shouldn't have done this. If he's not with Zaden, then he's Violet's number one supporter for her claim or a rival for her claim. Yeah, but either way, I mean, obviously he would support her. He would support her before taking. It himself, yeah, 100%.
Right, so here we are. And he's probably in love with Violet. So I do think if he's not the brother, then he is supporting Violet's bid. But maybe Surrey and those other ones that we talked about want him on the throne instead. OK, but next one, someone we haven't talked about yet is Mira. I think Mira is going to be really important.
Great. We know she has a role to play in all this, right? What's her face? Narelle told us that we don't know what that is yet, and we know she spent all this time with Lilith. So I think we're going to kind of find out more about what mirrors role in all this. Totally. We've also talked about, and I'm just going to say my next person is also Niara. We're just going to learn a whole bunch from her. But this kind of mirror Niara combo, we talked about the bracelets.
Maybe it was last episode, I don't remember, but I think that they have a lot more insight into dream walking then we've previously then has previously been mentioned. And obviously mirror has no idea that Violet is a dream Walker, right? So she just wouldn't tell him. But it may come to the point where mirror is like, Hey, we know the Ven and have a dream Walker.
Here's how you defend yourself against them. And that is very good information for Violet. Yeah, that's my thinking. Yeah. I mean, I think Mira has to be a pivotal character in this book because she's been almost like she's been so subtly important for all three of the first books in that she has saved, like, this armor that she created in the very first book has saved Violet's life again and again. To your point, Right.
So Asher sent Violet to Morrow, Yeah. And said, like, Violet, you need to read these texts to find out how to defeat the Dark Wheelers wielders. We never really closed this loop since she never really figured out from those texts, like, what to do when Asher seemingly really thought that what he was giving her was information that would help defeat the Dark wielders.
And I think what Asher did was he left a set of bread crumbs on where to go and what to look. He tells her book passes to Deverelli, go get these. He knew she would end up in Deverelli. If she if he just wanted her to read them, he would have left them somewhere on the continent where she could have read them. And then to your point, Narelle says that Lilith left Mira a legacy and we haven't learned what that is. But I wonder whether we're getting like AI wonder whether Mira's legacy, because remember, Asher thinks that Brennan's dead when he leaves these things.
So I wonder whether Mira is left with something that, combined with Asher's text, makes sense. And Asher finishes this letter to Violet where he tells her to book passage to Deborah. Ellie with trust Only Mirror. Trust only mirror, right? So I think you're totally right. I think it's Violet has pieces of it, mirror has pieces of it. They need to talk to each other to figure it out. Yep.
Yeah, cool. Agreed. OK, who's your next person? Dane. Yep, happened to. All right, so I think I have it on here that Papa Atos might end up being our big bad for book four. I think if we believe that Melgren isn't Venin, and he is, which is what we believe, I believe. So I think that's going to maybe not our big bad, but I think we're going to find out that Papa Atos is Venin in Book 4, right?
We also have postulated that Denon Dane might be a Venon offspring, right? I think he's our strongest case for event and offspring that could evolve. And we know that he has all this power, right? So like what? What is that building us towards? How is that going to play out before? I don't know, but I think it's going to be important. Yeah.
And then I, I just have a question like, whose memories is he going to read, right? Because we know the past is so important in this stuff, right? So what memories is he's going to read? Is he going to read Berwin's if he's with Zaidan, as we've talked about, is that how they're going to find out about dream walking?
Is he going to read his own father's memories and find out that he is this venom and that Dane himself is a Venom offspring? Is he going to read violets? Is he going to read and Darna somehow like I feel like, and Darna has a lot of memories now that we need to sift through. Maybe she'll just tell us. Maybe, maybe Violet and Dane combined and can somehow read and Darna's memories.
Yeah. So I think I just think Dean, both in terms of what we've told been told about his power and his signet and how important the past is, seems like he will be a very pivotal character on BIG4. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I think Dane is going to play a key role to your point. We've talked about him being then in Offspring.
He's just got a very interesting family situation that we've not learned enough about. So I feel like we are going to learn about more of that in Book 4 and it will make him more important. I think whoever his mother ends up being is going to reveal his importance in the plot line, whether that's someone who's been in or someone who's Peromish or something else. And he's being also being set up to have his own romance plot line, which tells me that he's going to continue playing a big part in this story.
I also think it's fascinating that he has not been chosen as a POP. So we still don't really know what's going on in his head. And we have the comment, the famous comment from Sloan, right? Like Someone Like You shouldn't have this much power. So we've talked about why he might have so much power, linking about potentially to being bed in offspring.
I think the easiest answer if he's not is we've been told in the case of Violet, right, that she has so much power because Taran has so much power. So I wonder whether there's not more to his dragon. And, like, he has so much power because Kath has so much power. And we're told this is a reason for why riders are powerful in the 1st place.
So then I think this begs, why did Sloan say Someone Like You? Right. Like, what does Someone Like You mean? I wonder whether she meant someone who's not a marked one. Yeah. And she knows either through her dragon or just through, you know, the meetings that they have that the Dragons of marked Ones are seeking out direct descendants and changing their names. I wonder whether that's what she sensed in him with Kath as well. Like did Kath bond a direct descendant of a former rider? And then Dane has kind of more power, stronger power, second signet, or just like an Imogen's case where it's like not a direct relative, like not a Direct Line, it's just a relative.
So he's especially strong. I don't think we know that for Imogen, that was Quinn. I'm sorry, Quinn. I meant Quinn, Yeah, I meant Quinn indirect descendant. So they just have a stronger segment, not, not two. Yeah, I think that's an option for Dan and Kath. It also just occurred to me that maybe Dane is safe because he is getting set up for a Sloan romance.
Sloan already lost her brother. If she loses Dane too, that's pretty brutal. Yeah, but maybe he's horribly injured or something. Imogen is my next one. She's with Violet. She knows something about what happened during those missing 12 hours, so I think she's super important. Yeah. She might be the only one that Violet can really trust within this new tearing door. I don't know that Violet can fully trust Brennan anymore with how sketchy use being with Wilson. So like, Imogen may become violets kind of #2 which is sad for Reba.
We've been kind of working that way towards that anyway, especially now that Quinn's out of the way, too. Imogen's going to be looking for a best friend. Yeah. Sad. That was kind of deep for no reason. Sad. Yeah. Like, I just don't know that the Iron Squad is going to be, like, chill with Zeta anymore. Right?
Like he, like Theresa, might have been a bridge too far, especially with Riddick. I think Imogen is going to be Violet's only ally left who's still looking for Zayden. Unless Derrick and Bodie, Garrick or Bodie are still there, which I don't think either of them are. Yeah. I also think we're going to find out more about her mother. It seems like her mother was an important person. We know that she was executed.
I don't know if that was because she was cherished nobility or if she was military leadership, but I think Imogen supporting Violet for her claim to the throne will will lend some weight. I think that will be important. And I think we found out more about Drusilla. Is that her name? Priscilla Cardulla, I believe, and her sister, whose name I don't remember. So I think she'll be important.
And we've talked about she might have one of those six most powerful signets with the earth Wheeling. Her signet has literally never been seen before. Yeah. And then my last one, I'm curious to see if we had the exact same list. My last one is Sloan. Is your last one Sloan? I do think she'll be important. I was stack ranking like who is worth talking about? I think there are two characters that will be more pivotal than them so they're not on my list.
But I totally agree with you I. Just think there's so many questions still open about the Mayuri family. Totally, yeah. That and Sloan is our last remaining Mayuri. Yeah. What's their connection to mayor's site? What happened to their father? As we really, really. What's the word I'm looking for? Took a took a walk down conspiracy alley to postulate. Do they have connection to the Erids? I just think there's too much about the mayor's that we don't know.
Yeah. And Sloan as a siphons, it seems like a very important thing. So I think Sloan is going to be very important in the next one. Too. I agree. I think Sloan would also continue to support Violet and SATA. I think it's Sloan and Imogen. Yeah, yeah. Yep, I agree. My last two were. They're not like fun characters. But I think Berwyn is going to be pivotal. Like I think we're going to find out who Berwyn is in this book and the role that he plays.
And I don't think it's good. Zayden has Berwyn, we think, in captivity or has direct access to Berwyn no matter what. We've started parrying with him in dreams. Like I think we find out who Berwyn is. I think it reveals a lot about where the plot of this book is actually going. And I think he's going to be super pivotal. Yeah, he's Satan's relative, so.
I also think that's super pivotal. I agree. And then my last character that I think is going to be pivotal even though she's dead is Theophany. Someone brought up in our comments like she was such a great and terrible villain, which with such clear ties to Violet that I don't think she's coming back to life. Like people like to talk about that. They're like, oh, is she really dead? You can't just kill a villain that important this early in the series.
No, I think you can, but I don't think we're done learning her story. Like I think we're going to learn about Theophanies background, who she was. Was she just a high priestess or was she like the high priestess or something really important that led to these aisles not having magic or played a role in it?
I think she's going to be super important even though she's dead. And that would point toward us going back to Unreal too. Back to Unreal, Yeah. Yeah, I think you're right. I think you're right. I think that'd be good. I have no notes. So those are my biblical characters. Any other notes, reactions, disagreements?
No, I think you're right. I didn't even think about the bad guys, but I should have. And I think you're right. I guess my only other one would be the one who watched. If he's if he's coming into play in this book or book five, he feels more like a book 5 character. Yeah, the he you mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Maybe this book definitely next. Definitely book 5, like yeah, he meaning we got it for our listeners. The one that Theophany reports to, who is definitely. Not Berwyn. Yeah, who's not Berwyn? Cuz she thinks Berwyn's an idiot. Which is also an interesting Diane. I I have a feeling Theophany thinks most people are in it already. Yeah.
But it I feel like it is helpful to know that because it points to all of them and not working as one army. Like, I don't think they're working as one army. Yeah, absolutely. They're still people. Like they still have personalities. We talked about this in urban an episode. Anyway, next question. Next question.
So the next question we asked ourselves is what are your plot twist predictions? I tried really hard to keep this to 2:00 to 3:00. I think there's going to be a bunch of plot twists in this book. To be clear, I was like, I think our whole podcast is plot twist prediction. So I just kind of listed my favorites that we've done. OK, you go minor, minor, mostly repeats. But I think I was trying to think less about like what I want to be true and what could be true based on the world. And like what I think Rebecca would actually write into existence knowing like her style, which I think is a little bit different than some of the stuff that we've come up with. I think in this book one of the
big plot twists is going to be a reveal about Zadens lineage, specifically the references to his documented grand uncle being his biological grandfather. For those who need a refresher, we find out, right, that he has a second signet because Seagal was bonded to his biological grandfather. And Zayn says, well, it helps that he was documented as my grand uncle. So nobody really suspected anything. And we learned he didn't make it out of the quadrant. That's all interesting.
But what is interesting about it, I think in the the setting that we're about to enter in this book, is it questions Zayn's legitimacy as heir because if Fenn's father was not actually who everyone thought Fenn's father was, then was that title passed down correctly? I think that's going to come out in the kind of kerfuffle that is about to occur with Violet's right to the title. I also wanted to call out a fun fan driven theory here. We now have two brothers who didn't make it out of the quadrant, right?
We have Zean's grandfather who was actually thought to be the brother of his documented grandfather. And then we have Alec also both do not make it out of the quadrant. My favorite theory right now actually has to do with the fact that Fenn Ryerson is a cognite for Fenrir's son. Have you looked into this at all? I've.
Seen it? Yeah. Yeah, OK. It's inspired by RE on our discord. I did a bunch of research into Norse mythology, which I quite like actually. I might need to read more about it. I'm not deep into the Marvel Universe and obviously Ragnarok was like a big fan in the Marvel Universe, which is derived from Norse mythology. But I want to talk a little bit about Fenn Ryerson and how like how Fenrir's son could be important, not like a direct tie.
I don't think that she wrote, you know, a Norse mythology brooded book here, but there's enough. So I just want to talk about it for a SEC. Then Rear is a wolf in Norse mythology who plays a key role in Ragnarok, which is the apocalypse story. Then Rear is the eldest son of the God Loki, who is the trickster God, and Anger Boda who is a giantess.
Van Reer has two siblings in Norse mythology, Jorman Gander, who is a world serpent who encircles Midgard. Let's talk about that in future episodes. And then Hell, who is the goddess who rules the realm of the dead? Van Reer and his siblings represent these three big threats to the gods and the cosmic order in Norse mythology. OK so there were prophecies foretelling that Fenrier would eventually kill Odin, who's like the All father during Ragnarok. Like the all father God, like Odin is a God. The gods were basically charged with raising Fenrier, but they were all afraid of Fenrier because he was foretold to be like this huge threat against them and he was going to kill Odin.
Tear, the God of War and justice, TYR, just to point out, was the only God who was willing to raise Fenrier and feed him when all these other gods were terrified of him. So Fenrier growth in size and strength and becomes a huge threat. And the gods decide, OK, we need to bind Fenrier like we cannot let him continue growing, continue progressing into this big bad threat to us.
So we're going to try to chain him. So they tried to chain him twice. He kept breaking free. And then finally, they commissioned dwarves to create this magical set of chains that could contain Fenrir. So Fenrir says OK fine, you can bind me if one of the gods puts their hand in my mouth as a show of good faith. And Tear did it here.
The God of War put his hand in Fenrier's nap, and Fenrier bit off his hand. So it's like the bite, bite off the hand that feeds. Like that's one of the origins of that. And so then Fenrier was punished by being bound to a rock and imprisoned. So Fenrier's imprisoned during Ragnarok, Fenrier breaks free and kills Odin. So the prophecy is fulfilled, kills Odin, the God of all. And after killing Odin, he's killed by Odin's son. Fenrier has two sons of significance, Wolf twins Skull and Hottie.
They chase the sun and the moon across across the sky and skull means treachery and skull is the wolf that is eternally pursuing the sun. So skull represents this constant threat of darkness, overwhelming light. And then hottie means hate and chases the moon across the sky, which represents hostility against the cosmic order.
So during Ragnarok, like Ragnarok is, is this like end of times right And marks the beginning of this end of times. During Ragnarok, Fenrir kills Odin and then these two wolves who are facing the sun and the moon succeed and catch the sun and the moon and that's when like cosmic order begins to crumble. So that's the Norse mythology side of it. So then parallels right?
Fen Ryerson then would be the parallel to 1 of Fenrir's sons. So we would represent either Skoll or Hottie. I'm guessing he was the threat to cosmic order given he basically attempted to succeed from a generally well governed nation. So I'm assuming he's a parallel to to Hottie. Who's the threat against cosmic order? This It might imply that Fenn might have a twin, I don't know. Secret twin?
Not sure. That could be a plot to us for being set up for. I'm not going to take this too literally, but mostly I think it means that Fenn's father, who again is Satan's biological grandfather, documented grand uncle could be a big bad. Who is the imprisoned person in this story? Who could be the person that Pan Check had access to and somebody else does.
He never made it out of the quadrant. He could be the parallel to Fenrir and might be a character that we've not even met yet, rather than Satan's grandfather being Berwyn. Like maybe Berwyn is Zadan's great grandfather and this son is imprisoned in Bazgaiath and is a parallel. To Fenrir, right?
So I think a couple of things on that. Zadan doesn't actually say his grandpa died at Bazgai, so he never made it out of the quadrant, right? The reason we thought so I think we're both very much like, OK, Berwyn is a reorcin kind of no doubt, right? Like he's constantly got the sort of Tyrion door.
He he's got tan arms, blah, blah, blah. The reason we thought Berwyn was grandpa reorcin specifically was because we found out that the Venom started recruiting about 50 years ago, but we found that out in an epigraph. So we don't know when that quote UN quote epigraph was written. And Berwyn, if Berwyn is Grandpa Riorsin and Grandpa Riorsin didn't make it out of the quadrant about 50 years ago.
That's what we're told that it was about 50 years ago. Berwyn's dream walking could be how they started recruiting. That was kind of why we were like, OK, Berwyn is Grandpa Riorsin. I it's a little convoluted. It's our theory and I think it's a little convoluted. So I, I think it could be just that Berwyn is a Reorcen.
He also obviously has that line about waiting for centuries rather than other than being specifically Grandpa Reorcen, but he's definitely a Reorcen in my mind. Yeah, in my mind he is a Ryerson. But I think like, what I'm getting at is I think we're going to learn stuff through Berwyn being captured by Zaden and also this like dice inevitable dissection that's about to happen into Violet's claim into Zaden lineage.
All of this stuff, like I foresee all of this occurring when Violet doesn't maybe doesn't have access to Zayden, like doesn't have the ability to talk to him about what's happening. And it's like, what is going on? Yeah, I agree with all of that. Because two things, right? I have, I have two follow up thoughts.
One, if Zayden is not the heir and if Bodhi is now the brother, who the fuck becomes who rules? Like what actually happens here? Yeah, it could be that they go to a democracy, right? We have the democracy teased with Hidotis. A Republic with these, what happens? Yeah, my second follow up thought on this one with Fen being imprisoned, with our theory that Fen is imprisoned at Bezgaya, We don't have a dragon, a loose theory, a loose theory, a loose theory, but we don't have a dragon to contend with there, right? Because Fen was infantry, right?
But the grandpa, grandpa was Segal's writer, right? So like if, if he's imprisoned at Bosgaya, Segal fucking knows. And I don't think there's any way she just kind of lets that that's that lie, right? So I don't know. But I yeah, I think we find out more about the grandpa, whether I wouldn't be that or just I wouldn't.
Be that surprised if Zaden didn't know and just, like, didn't. No, I'm not saying Zaden didn't know, but right, Well I'm not, but Segal would know. And Segal would like tear Baz Gaith apart to get him free. Don't you think that's her whole vibe? Unless he unless he did something unforgivable like unless he turned or something like the best guy.
Or they're just constantly dosing him with serum. She thinks he's dad. Yeah. But I think, like, I do think the only way that this would be true is if Segal knows and Zaden knows. And I don't think it's that crazy to think that they both do because Zaden knew that Segal bonded this relative, this grandfather of his, and Zaden knows he didn't make it out of the quadrant. So, like, they had to have talked about it at some point. There's no way they didn't talk about it. Now, I'm not trying to pinpoint the exact unwinding of the lineage.
Right. I think we. That's going to be the plot twist or a plot twist in the series is like, shit, Xavin's line is not what we thought it was. This is. What happened? We. Thought it was when you podcast about the same books for 21 episodes. So yeah, here we are. Cool. Do you have other big plot twists? I do have one more.
Yeah. So my, my next plot twist that I think is going to happen in book four, that is not going to be a surprise to anybody who listens to this podcast, but to me in in the book, I think it will still be a huge plot twist. I think Violet is going to walk into minds in this book. Like in episode 1 of this podcast, I think we called out that Violet can slip into people's conscious consciousness when she is awake. We have several examples of this happening when we were none the wiser reading these books, right? Violet accidentally slips into Zaden's mind when she means to speak to Taryn when they're in Corden. She's asking Taryn, will you still keep me if I have to crawl up the stairs?
And Zaden replies, you're not crawling. We're led to, I think, and this happened several times, right? We're led to think that Zaden is just straight up reading minds, but it's always with Violet in these scenarios. And like, I think she's just accidentally just walking right into his mind because they have a bond.
And then of course the the point that you brought up on our last episode, which is she has walked into Seagal's and Zaden's minds during battle and seemingly Brennan's where she says. We think that's a theory. That's a theory. I don't know, she says. I drag my gaze to hers. Being flones. But I'm not here, not really.
I'm dying on the battlefield, the last of my strength fading, burning, consuming my body. But it will be worth it to save the one I love. Violet. It makes total sense, right? If she is walking into minds, that it started in dreams. Because your mind is already drifting when you're asleep and no one is shielding, and they learn to shield when they're at Bezgayev.
I think Violet is going to hone her signet in this book, but I also think she's going to realize what it is and it's going to scare the shit out of her. But I do think that is going to happen in Book 4. That's my other plot twist prediction for Book 4. I agree. I agree. I think that makes sense. Do you think it'll happen in book 4? Do you think it'll happen in book 5? I think it might not happen till book 5 because we have so much left of the dream walking that she has to figure out that I feel like the mind walking is one more step. I think it might be the same thing we're. Ending.
Throughout maybe the end of book four, I think we will definitely, I think it will confirm our theory. By the end of book four, I think you and I will know if she's a mind Walker, even if she doesn't. Right. Like, I think Rebecca will give us those sprinkles if it's a real trail, that we'll be able to see it. But she won't know.
Violet won't realize that she has this ability, I think. Yeah. Yeah, I could see that. OK, the only one I had that we haven't really talked about yet is Asher was a secret eared rider and use the Eareds to manipulate time. I don't have any notes on it. I just think that I think we have to find that out.
I think we find it out from Niara because we keep getting the time manipulation clues in the aisles. Like how did he have all this time? We've had an ear that can manipulate time. We either, I think we either find out from and Dharna or from Niara that Asher had this connection to the ear. It's and he was maybe an eared rider like Violet, and it was a secret. Yeah, I think.
And if you want to know why, go listen to our twenty previous episodes. We're gonna get into the. Deep dive of it here it. Would be nice too to think that he could have tempered like his own runes right for those books using arid magic right? Because it makes more sense for him to know how to do it based on everything we know than for Lilith too. Yeah, right.
If he's an arid writer, he can do it himself. Yeah. Yeah. That'd be crazy if that happened. I also think honorable mention, I think we are going to figure out who Dan's mom is in this book. I don't have any notes on who it might be. Yeah, I said this awful thought. I was like, Oh my God, what if it's Lilith? But it's not going to be Lilith.
She would have obviously been pregnant. It would be gross. It's not. Also like he would have to be Violet's twin the same. Oh no, he's a year older. He's a year older. But like, it would be between between Mira and Violet. Like it's just, it's simply not the case. That was just what popped into my mind.
Well Mira and Violet are pretty, they're a few years apart. They're like 6 years apart or something. Yeah, but how would Lilis just secretly have a baby and then not keep the baby? Yeah, I don't know. That's not going to happen. Yeah. It's just the ranchings of my entire hungry mind. Yeah, but they didn't. Fuck.
I mean This is why. Yeah, maybe Violet new. No, no, I don't reject this. I reject it wholeheartedly. We're not doing it. This is not an incest story. I do think Dane's mom is good. I know we've talked about her maybe being Ben and I do think she was a good character, even if she's a mystery to us because and Asher specifically said that if Dane takes after his father, Pilot needs to suffer her affection for him. So he if he knew his mother, he wouldn't have specifically said his father.
If his mother was bad, I think maybe his mother was was the source of good in Dane or she was completely absent, which is also possible. I'm trying to again, because we're 20 fucking episodes into this book. I'm like, is there a way that Dane doesn't have a mother and he's just like a Jesus type baby, but even Jesus had a mother? Enough.
The mother is the one you have to have. You can't come from anywhere else. Yeah, what a good point. Can you tell I ran 8 miles in the 100° heat this morning and I'm not eating enough anyway I'm. Still not well. And I ran so much less. Yeah. Any other plot to us? The ones that I think definitely come up, I had the Zaden's lineage thing and Fen blackmailing his way into a title.
So that's the other. Other piece we didn't talk about is that it is implied, it is said by Halden that someone blackmailed their way into a title. It might be Fen, it might be Zaden. We're not sure. Seems more likely if Ben was not in the Direct Line. Right, we're we're leaning towards Fenn. Taran has the connection to Dune. I think we find out more about that and I think we find out that Hijo just has been overrun by Bennett. Those are my like, big 5 for the plot points that I think definitely have look for.
Yeah, if anything we've said on this podcast is correct, which it might not be. Might not be. I'll be surprised us all. Yeah, someone left us a comment that was like, Oh my God, your theories are so unique. And I was like, I don't know if that's a good thing or that. Yeah, we've gotten more frank comments than that.
On our TikTok. So yeah, we know guys. That's why we're ending this chapter. We're aware. We're well aware. Yeah. All right, last question for this part, remember this is a 2 parter, so come back next week for the next part. But the last question we are asking ourselves in this episode is what is your guess for the book for title? Do you want to go first?
You want me to go? I mean I I think these are all going to sound dumb no matter what. I think mine sounds pretty dumb too. I. Used the cover art to try and derive what I think the next title is going to be. So we've got 4th Wing, we've got Iron Flame, we've got Onyx Storm, and it's basically a gradient from red to black to silver. So I think the next book starts with silver. I agree.
I my guess is silver thread. I don't know whether it's going to be right. Thread Thread. Why? Thread because I think that Zayden and Violet are still linked, and I think Violet is silver and we're transitioning to silver from the Onyx Storm. But yes, cover, I also did silver. I did a little bit more thinking about Onyx storm.
Obviously we find out what like the storm is, but like storm is really more closely tied to Violet signet, right? So like the Onyx is obviously Zayden. Like I know we find out what the Onyx Storm is, but if we're just taking the 2 words separately, Onyx we obviously associate with Zayden because of his with Violet being constantly described as Onyx. His eyes are described as Onyx.
He's got the Onyx bracelet that's Satan. But storm is more violent right? Lightning, Lilith, etcetera. So I was thinking OK if silver because I agree it's silver. If silver is more Violet, then we need something that's more Zaidan. So I came up with silver shroud, which I hate. I think it's a terrible.
About Silver Shadow, that could be fake. Silver Shadow feels too much like Silver Surfer. I feel like, I don't know. OK, Silver shroud. Yeah. Cuz shroud also has two meanings, right? It means a thing that envelops or obscures something. So like the shadows, obviously. But then it's also a burial garment.
So like, it could be foreshadowing Zaiden's death, which like, I think we're back. I would have a great fucking time with. Yeah. So that was kind of my thinking. I really hate the way it sounds though, like I don't like the s s thing. Yeah. So I don't think it will be that, but that was kind of my best guess.
Cool. I like we'll. See, I like the thought between. I like the thought of the Zayden word and the Violet word. I guess what I was working off of instead was the fact that each one of these titles have been said in a pivotal moment in the book right itself. Right. So like Onyx Storm was said when Zaden turned, Iron Flame was what we needed to fire the word stone and forth with. A silver a silver shroud could be what covers Zaden's body when he dies.
Yeah, yeah, I guess that's what deterred me from Silver Shadow. And I literally just thought of it just now. It's like there's not gonna be a Silver Shadow. No, right, Right. Unless Satan has been dedicated to Dune and then suddenly the shadows are silver, which I don't maybe. Satan got dedicated.
Who knows knows what happened in those 12 hours. Yeah, Yeah. All right. OK. So we think it starts with silver. And conclusion? Yeah, us and many other people think it starts with silver. Yeah, cool. OK, Well, that concludes Part 1. Come back next week for Part 2. We're going to continue doing Book 4 predictions in Part 2. But before we close out, Abby, what are you reading? Yeah, and real quick, no pre cog corner this week because this whole fucking episode is pre cog. All pre cog.
Yeah, all pre card corner. We could have titled this episode. Maybe we will title this episode Pre Cog Corner. OK, so I remember a couple weeks ago I told you I was reading this book called Anathema. Anathema. Yeah. By Carrie Lake. I finished it. Yeah, it's very weird. It wasn't you so recommended.
So here's what I'm going to say. It feels like a Part 1. Like it feels like those stupid Avenger movies when you sit through three hours of movie and then it says Part 1 and you're like are you fucking kidding me? So I can't really give you an answer yet. I will read Part 2 and I originally it was supposed to be a duology but she recently said it's going to be 3. So I will read Part 2 but like I do not know. There is no plot arc.
Like there is not a clear story that finishes at the end of book one. It just kind of ends. I would hate that. And personally, I really like the this is, this is so unusual for me. Well, I guess it's not. I guess the same thing happened with Quicksilver. I really like the mortal realm in this book. And then the magic realm is just completely confusing and convoluted and I'm like, what the fuck is going on? But I do think the mortal realm is going to play more into it. It is really, really dark.
It's quite pretty fucked up and I don't think the love story works even a little bit. So we have an unfinished story, we have a bad magic system and we have a bad love story. But I'm going to read book too. Sure, I mean if I invested that much time into it I would also read book too, but I'm probably not going to read it based on what you just.
Said, I don't think you should read it. I don't think you have the time. I think other people might enjoy it. Again, I'll report back after book 2, but if you've read Anathema, let us know what you think. Again, the vibes are good. It's just like a weird book. It's just a weird story. What do you read? I'm reading A Court of Wings and Ruin. Are you?
I'm reading a Court of wings and ruin and prep for our season 2. We'll obviously talk more about those books and how we feel about them, but I I'm enjoying A Chord of Wings through it. Kind of like honestly my perspective from first read to 2nd read didn't change that much for me on this one. Like I still think the second-half is far more interesting than the first half of.
Surprised how little actually happens in that book. Right. Especially in the first half. Yeah. First off, I'm like, what are we doing, guys? Like we're like, yeah, this is fun because, you know, a certain main character is a plant in another certain character's territory. But like, I don't know you. Always forget about that part like that part doesn't. Again, it's like 14 chapters though. Like it's a significant part of the book. Yeah, we'll get more into it.
That's 14 chapters, but it's enough time that I'm like, yeah, let's move along. Yeah, we'll get more into it for sure. I will say on my Ruby read my Ruby reread my reread. I did think there was more interesting stuff actually in a court of wings in Ruin. That's where I that's where I think she really started to pick up on the world building and the.
Mythology. Yeah, the world building for me, but for me, like my perspective of A Court of Thorns and Roses, like flipped on the reread A Court of Wings and Ruin didn't. It hasn't done that for me. Yeah, but we'll see. I'm still in the middle so and I also so unrelated to books. Let me make sure that I don't butcher the explanation of this film one second. So I watched a film called Rear Window. It's a Hitchcock movie.
Is this the Johnny Depp Hitchcock? Film. No, it's not Johnny Depp. It's. I think Johnny Depp starred in a remake though. Did he OK watch the original? The original was actually fantastic and OK. I also am really enjoying watching. I really like Alfred Hitchcock, so like that is a huge win for this movie. But I also enjoying older movies because I don't know when we decided that movies needed to be minimum 2 hours, 20 minutes, like 2 1/2 hours, 3 hours.
Why do they need to be that long? I don't think that they do. So I also saw you triggered this for me. I saw materialists, did you see? It I didn't see materialists yet I want to I. Feel pretty similar to materialists that I feel about anathema. Really. I mean after reading for approximately 5 minutes about the materialists and who made it, it was like Celine song, right? Was the director.
Past lives, yeah. Yeah, so I feel like I already very much don't expect this to be a ROM com just based off of her. So it's not funny. Yeah, it's well, OK, except I actually this is really funny. I went to see it with my. I was a third wheel for my friends who went to see it. So her boyfriend was sitting all the way to the left, She was sitting in the middle.
I was sitting on the other side. And like the big emotional moment of the movie happened. She's sitting in between US and he starts crying, he's crying, she's in the middle. I'm literally staring at the screen like this. Like what the fuck? Like literally what the fuck. I literally, I got like my head in my hands.
Just being like, this is fucking terrible. And she starts laughing so loudly. And I'm like, there are other people in this movie theater. Like she's just giggling uncontrollably. Cannot stop. I'm like, you got to cut it out. No. Yeah. I will watch it. But I don't think you should see it in theaters. But yeah.
Yeah, it's a good road to watch at home. Rear Window if I don't like scary movies, will I be OK with? Yeah, I without giving away the plot, it's basically, and this doesn't like spoil anything. The premise is there's this like, photographer who's like a serious photographer and he's injured himself photographing something that was, you know, a big deal for him. But like, he broke his leg.
And so he's confined to a chair with like a big cast and all he can do is look out his rear window of his apartment. He lives in New York and the whole film takes place from his his seat in this. Oh, that's interesting. Apartment where he's looking at like other people's New York apartment windows and like seeing like their behavior and things that are going on and basically he ends up suspecting someone of murder from like looking at his out of his rear view window. Yeah.
So that's the very interesting the film. It's not like a it's classified as a thriller, but it's not horror or anything like that or like, yeah, jump scares or anything. And I told Connors, Connors brother Will. So shout out to Will because he said he would look for this guest review in the pod.
He's going to really like it. Listen to all this about a book that I'm guessing he hasn't read just I'm. Probably going to give him the time stamp of the review. So will I did watch rear window and I did like it. It was thank. You will shout out to will shout. I don't think so. And who knows what we're getting at Guitar 6, but we're definitely getting it now, so. That's definitely getting it. I do think it's hilarious that she broke the Internet with this video of her slamming the drafts book shut when like there's no date, there's no like, it's just like, oh, it is actually happening.
I'm like, guys, I thought we knew this. I think she needed to do it though. I think she knew people were pissed about their own. This is so fucking stupid right? People made their own expectations and then she didn't meet them and now they're like, she's going to wins of Winter US. It's like, get over yourselves. Like she has a fucking life.
She's a prolific writer. She actually writes so quickly and people are just upset that that she's not meeting their expectations, which I think is bullshit. Yeah. Like, but just because you happen to be alive and reading during the time when these are not all yet published, don't make that her problem.
And wouldn't you rather this last longer? I would like, I don't know that's me personally, but. I don't know. I've never, I feel like I've never read like voraciously read a series that was already out because even when we were kids reading Harry Potter, like Harry Potter was still coming out. Yeah, but what about Thorna Glass? Oh yeah, I guess throwing a glass works. Yeah.
And I did read that all at once. And I did love that it was all out, honestly. Like, it's still not her problem. It's not her problem. I do enjoy reading a series that's out. Yeah. All right. See you later. Bye. Bye.
