Shownotes

In this episode of Effective Immediately, the duo recaps private album listening sessions with John Legend and Lil Baby, with Hed praising Lil Baby’s vulnerable R&B-inspired records, Wale’s involvement in a WNBA Finals song, and a candid breakfast with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass addressing homelessness, wildfires, and city leadership. They explore how The Drop, Insecure, and Reasonable Doubt authentically represent LA culture before Gina shares her frustrations with California power outages, homeowners insurance cancellations, and the everyday struggles of adulting.
The conversation shifts to Soulja Boy’s reported 2028 presidential ambitions, the ongoing Papoose, Claressa Shields, Remy Ma, and Eazy The Block Captain drama, and the backlash surrounding Eazy’s battle rap loss and diss track. Plus, they react to Netflix’s upcoming Dejan Love scam documentary, defend Summer Walker against criticism over her alleged attitude and edited photos, and make a case for Grammy recognition for Wale’s Everything Is a Lot while continuing the conversation around their growing “EMedia Family” community.

Welcome to Effective Immediately, a production of the Black Effect Podcast Network and iHeartRadio.

Yo, it's Effective Immediately. I'm DJ Head.

And it's your favorite homegirl, Gina Views.

Welcome to another week of the show. Thank you for tuning in.

Hype us up. Hit that subscribe button if you haven't already. And if you have, thank you very much. We are on our way to get more subscribers and we appreciate your contributions. It's been an interesting week in the culture. Niggas been outside. Niggas been doing stuff. What was your week like?

I had a very productive week. Started off with John Legend.

John Legend was dope. I want to talk about that in a second.

Went to John Legend, private album listening. Then I went to a second private album listening with Lil Baby.

Okay.

Album 10 out of 10.

No way.

Yeah, it's good. It's good.

Are you not Kevin?

I'm not the biggest Lil Baby fan either.

Okay, because I'm not.

He got some girl stuff on there. I like the girl stuff. Oh, okay.

That's what I like.

I like the girl stuff.

Now, he did have, you know, things that I think that the casual little baby fan would like. But for me, it was the girl stuff that he have on there. And he's vulnerable on the album. Like, he talking about things that I didn't expect little baby to talk about. I also put up on Wale. He had a session.

And he got some, I think it dropped today. Well, he posted it on Twitter, but he's doing a song for the WNBA finals.

Yes.

And then what else did I do? I think that pretty much sums up my productive week. Other than that, sat on my couch, got my Rensworth, chewed a gummy, chewed a couple gummies.

I want to salute to Wale because he's been dropping freestyles and stuff on Twitter and stuff like that, but he's a huge The Drop fan.

Mm-hmm.

Like, and he be on my line every week. Like, yo, this is the best thing. Like, this show is black culture. Like, I got L.A. niggas that I be tapping in with. Like, this is really y'all shit.

Yeah.

And you've even expressed that before, like, the lingo and even, like, the way people maneuver and stuff like that. So it's dope to me that people are not from here get to see our culture in a certain way. It ain't, yes, it's street shit, but it's still family. It's still storytelling. It's still different characters that we all know, that we all grew up with. Yeah. It's not always just somebody, like, cripping or blooding or, like, you know what I mean?

Like, it's still, like, James.

Is a crip for sure, but his little brother a little different.

You know what I'm saying?

So it's just, like, I like that we are seen with different layers to our people.

I like that people that are not from L.A. are a fan of L.A.

Shit. Yeah.

Because I don't think that, I got the tweet off yesterday about how now that we have the drop, to me, it feels like UPM Mondays when we had like the Parkers, Moesha, Girlfriends.

Those are all black-led West Coast.

Series, you know? And I don't think growing up that it was highlighted that these are West Coast series. Or maybe since I was a kid, I just didn't. But obviously, Moesha went to Crenshaw. Kim and Monique went to Santa Monica. You know, like, I don't think that it was like highlighted for real. Even like, I didn't realize that Girlfriends was so West Coast until they did the spinoff of the game, which was in San Diego. But it wasn't highlighted that these are West Coast.

Shows or L.A.

Shows. I'm going to give you another bar that's even deeper than that. If you remember correctly, when you were watching, like, where was Sister Sister?

I don't know.

Exactly.

But if you think of what? You know what, Nay?

Yes, they were in Detroit. They were in Michigan.

I don't remember that.

Okay.

I do remember Martin.

be in Detroit because it was put in our face that this is Detroit.

Like he was on WZUP. Like it was Detroit station.

Now, the reason I'm saying this is because if you remember watching like shows like the Wayans brothers or even Chris rock show, that was heavily New York.

Yeah.

Like you, the New York was a character on the show. Like you, um, the way, the, the way they had the sets built, it was like, there was a boat, it was a Dell, it was pops diner. And then you had like the name, the newsstand. And it was like, to me, The culture was prevalent, whereas our shows, not so much.

Yeah.

You get what I'm saying? And so I agree with you is what I'm saying.

Even like we knew 101 was on the East Coast. Yes. You know, like we knew. I don't know. I don't know if this was intentional back then or what. But when I'm watching the drop, I'm happy that obviously is people, characters and things like that, that we know that's like real L.A.

People.

But I'm happy of like certain references and things like that. That's like specific to Los Angeles. You know, we didn't get that before. We got it with Insecure, obviously. Exactly. But it don't seem like for like television, it was like broadcast of like a real love for L.A. Unless it's Friday, Boys in the Hood, you know, like Poetic Justice, like them type of movies. We didn't we didn't know.

You didn't know. And me rewatching. Shout out to Netflix. Because they put the Parkers on Netflix and Girlfriends. I think I rewatched the game as an adult, too. Was the game on Netflix, like, recently? I think it was probably, like, five years.

It was a while ago.

It was recent. They had the game on there. But the new game is in Vegas. Yeah. So now I'm paying attention to the area, the region, you know, that it's in. Exactly. But it wasn't like that before.

It wasn't like that before.

The other thing is.

Even, my bad, Reasonable Doubt.

Reasonable Doubt.

Reasonable Doubt is so fucking L.A.

Yeah.

Like, and even, like, the music that they're playing, like, it's, I mean, obviously, Reasonable Doubt is a playoff of Jay-Z, so I don't know if they doing it for every season, but I know season one, each title was a track list from Jay-Z's albums, yeah.

So, the other thing I was going to say is, like, you brought up Insecure as a great example because she, Issa, was intentional about showcasing Englewood, so they would use Englewood locations. They even, I mean, they went into Overhill and shit a little bit, but The point is the B-roll plays a big part. So if you remember like Wayans Brothers, it would be like when they transition scenes or something, they'll show a subway. Or they would show like a cab.

They would show like Marlon or Sean going. Like they would show the New York as a character, whereas the L.A. stuff, I don't believe. Like I don't remember. I remember B-roll from Moesha. I don't remember B-roll being L.A. stuff.

I remember it just being B-roll.

You would have to have been paying attention because as a kid, I didn't know Moesha went to Crenshaw.

Right.

You know, but when I rewatched it as an adult, it's like, oh, OK, Moesha went to Crenshaw. I think the den is in a district.

Yes.

You know, or Leimert Park.

Leimert Park.

Yeah.

But yeah, that's my point. But I just don't know if this is more potent than the other ones were. How was your week?

It was good.

It's a lot going on in my house. Like my garbage disposal was out. The wind is going crazy right now. Did you see the wind advisory for L.A.

No.

For the Valley?

I mean, I felt the wind.

No, nigga. You need to look at the news sometimes. I do.

It's Twitter.

No. Bro, the regular white people news. It's on every day. You got to look at this.

Hey, when the city was on fire, that's the most I ever watched the news. Y'all, I had the news on like it was baddies.

Like, I'm sitting there.

I got my snacks ready and everything, and I'm just watching the news. I'm just waiting for the fires to hit Northridge.

It's like, what's going on right now? It's going on right now. It's not like, I mean, there are fires, but it's not like it was.

We do got a fire right now, though, right?

Yes, but my point is, it's like some shit going on in the valley right now. Look at this.

High wind warning.

It's called a red flag warning.

8 p.m.

Pacific Standard Time, Friday.

It's called a red flag warning. The red flag warning means everybody get ready. It's a high risk. The fire could spread within minutes.

How close is the fire to us?

The one that's burning is not close to us, significantly close to us. But the wind is so crazy right now. That even when I left my house this morning, before I went and did my running around and stuff, the wind at, I think it was like 11 a.m., the wind was already at 20 miles an hour.

So it's just like, it's unpredictable.

And they got a high wind warning for like the whole weekend type shit.

So, anyway. Whose is it?

Hurricane Heather?

Nah.

Rachel?

This is why I brought it up. This some other shit. Rachel is, this some other shit.

Oh, this ain't even Rachel.

This ain't even related to that. So look, coming from the south, Yeah. We got the hurricane coming up from Mexico and, you know, Newport and Orange County and Dago.

Right, right, right.

They dealing with that shit. It's in Vegas. Vegas was flooded. Did you see that shit?

I saw that. The strip was flooded.

It was flooded down.

And they don't have drains.

Because, nigga, they in the desert.

Yeah.

Hurricane Rachel is in Mexico and in Baja, Southern California.

It's fucking shit up.

So who in Long Beach?

That's what I'm saying. We in the middle because we got the hurricane coming from the south and we got the wind and fire shit coming from the north. So it's like, I seen a bunch of people like, yeah, I'm finna go ahead and take that trip I've been waiting to take.

I'm not flying.

No, I'm not flying nowhere.

I'm not flying right now.

Because remember when I got stuck in Vegas the last time this shit happened? The last time this shit cracked off, it was around the same type of season.

Yeah, yeah.

And nah, I'm good on that.

But anyway, we got a lot of shit going on by my house because the power's out.

Yeah.

So I'm staying in a hotel. Are you serious? Yeah. How long you been in a hotel?

Just one night. I'm just doing it. I'm just taking it day by day. I'm not blocking out a week.

The wind blew the power up? Yeah.

So they sent us a text. It's fucked up because, nigga, y'all ain't got no power, but you can text me.

Okay.

How you texting me with no power?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know that ain't related, but that's how I felt when I got the text.

That's how I feel when shit be going out and they still want that rent.

Yeah.

It's like, bro, anyway.

Um.

Um so yeah i've been i've been dealing with that and they also there's some home ownership that that people don't got to deal with they canceling uh insurance and policy insurance policies in in california southern california who pretty much everybody i i was on the no not not car house.

Insurance i still got renter's insurance though Am I good?

I think you're good.

Property, so for homeowners, all the policies, I found one company through my brokerage who was going to insure my house, and that don't start until November.

You don't got Geico, though?

Hell no.

Okay. There's one company that's still insuring houses that I found in our area in the Valley.

But, like, they're just leaving California. They're like, it's too much fire.

How y'all just going to leave, though? Like, what are we supposed to do?

That's just what they own. I don't even know.

I need to call the mayor. Oh, we had breakfast with the mayor.

I was going to get to that.

I forgot to say that.

We had breakfast with Karen Paz.

With the mayor, yeah.

So I was for sure last night with my phone and my light voting, filling out my little ballot. Because I'm like, I'm not going to say who I voted for. But there was a person on the ballot. And under their notes, it said advocate for insurance companies coming back to California. I need my insurance.

Nigga, I need that.

I was like, nigga, how y'all... Because they shoot you an email and they're like, hey, Mr. Drake, we're canceling your insurance policy. But they ain't no like, hey, we're going to swap you out for this. It's just like, yeah, we out of California. We ain't fucking with it.

Damn.

So, yeah, that's what's been going on. I've been getting my logistics together.

I need... Because, you know, I'm new to adulting.

Yeah.

So, I don't be checking my mail.

Oh, no, you got to check your mail.

I don't be checking my mail. I don't check my emails. Like, I'll fuck around. I found... I got so much shit that got canceled. Like, I ain't going to put my business out there. But they canceled some shit that I, the shit that I need for that shit, for the.

Oh, yeah.

They canceled that.

Oh, no. You got to check your shit.

And I'm like, what the fuck? Like, I still need that. Like, I've only been an adult for not even that long.

Nigga, you grown.

I know.

You better check your shit. Because I'm glad I started. I wasn't checking my, because, you know, my mom had come and stayed with me. I wasn't checking my mail. I took advantage of the fact my mom was getting the mail and sorting it out.

Oh, yeah.

Bro, remember when I got hurt and I fucked my leg up? They sent me a $ 6, 500 hospital bill.

That could stay in the mailbox.

I was like $ 6, 000. No, it was $ 6, 328.

31.

What?

I was hot. Because I got insurance. I pay a lot of money for my insurance. So now we ranting about adult shit.

We all adulting.

Yeah.

So I sent them, I had to, I tried to submit my insurance stuff online. They wouldn't take it online. I'm like, oh, no, no, no. So I call the people, and I make her manually punch my shit in, and they sent me a bill that was like $ 300.

I'm like, yeah.

That's cool, yeah.

Yeah, we can figure that out.

Man, I hadn't checked my mailbox in so long. I found money orders in there that my auntie was sending me, my mama, and my cousin from 2024. Oh, them is.

Expired, fool.

No, we cashed them. No, it was a cashier check. Oh, okay.

It was a cashier check.

No, it might have been... Whatever it was, we cashed it. You cashed it.

Yeah.

Because I know a spot on Adams. You can go cash anything.

We got that money.

Oh, my God.

I definitely took it to Wells Fargo.

Yeah, I was just saying, this is a spot on Adams. You can go cash whatever.

So, in 24, she sent me... In 24, she sent me that. And then in 25, she sent me cash. That's two years of me not checking my freaking mailbox.

Like.

No, that's ridiculous.

If it ain't virtual.

That's ridiculous. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I was a little bit. Yeah, I was a little bit.

Because there's money in there. But there's also bills in there.

Yeah.

Hey, the bills outweigh the money in there.

I'm surprised they didn't start sending your mail back.

They probably did.

Because it's full? Because the house is abandoned.

Yeah.

They ain't nobody listening. After a while, they like, okay.

No, they probably did. They probably did.

Yeah, the post office. Like, if they feel, if your mailbox get too full, they can start, like, they'll just start holding, they'll put a notice and they'll start sending your shit to the post office.

Oh, my building got the thing where if your thing too full, they gonna put it in a larger mailbox and then put a key inside your little mailbox so you can check the big mailbox. They putting it in the parcel locker.

Bro, you gotta, that's ridiculous. Look at how Irene looking at you.

I am flabbergasted. So when I tell y'all that I don't be caring about shit, I need y'all to believe me. Because it'll be days where y'all be like, oh, what time you going? Or where it's at? I don't fucking know until it's time for me to get in the car and go there.

Damn.

In the parcel locker.

That's crazy.

It's all newspapers in there. Sales papers and shit.

No, it's supposed to be boxes in there. Like, shit that I need. What if I'm like, I need a CPAP machine and your mail in there?

Yeah. You know what I'm saying?

That type of shit.

They got to use another one. But that's how... It's funny because I only check my mailbox for specific reasons. I know that my tags about to expire. So I said, let me go check my mailbox so I can get that registration. I knew that I had got a new driver's license.

Did you retake your picture?

I sure did.

I knew you did. I know you did.

My picture is T2. Let me show you my picture. My picture is so cute. You redid yours?

Nah, I let them run the same shit I've been running since I was 18.

Man, that's why I had to do a note. I don't even have my wallet.

Where's your wallet?

I don't fucking know.

It's probably in that mailbox.

Oh, here it goes. Oh, my God.

She just out here winging it.

Look at her.

Oh, yeah.

Yeah, you definitely.

This is a planned photo.

This is a planned.

This is like, PB, let me see before we get on the air.

Here y'all go.

Yeah she did that she planned that.

Shit i did that's my birthday hairstyle i said i said i gotta do this i gotta do this when i got a hairstyle i like you made your own.

Ring lane everything i've been waiting i've been waiting 10 years for this renewal i was so happy.

When it expired yeah um but let's talk about some hip-hop okay that's enough.

About us so uh real quick uh let's i want to get past this as quickly as possible but Apparently, Soulja Boy is running for president.

It's a real thing. I guess it started off as a troll. And now it's a thing.

And....

It's a thing.

And.

I just don't know where this is gonna go.

I seen... We know that the last election, Kanye kicked everything off. And he had rappers really out here advocate. Some of my homies was advocating for him as president. And I'm just like, no, bro, this is a mistake. Because. It might be a good look for you. CNN going to cover you. You're going to be on MSNBC, Fox News.

You're going to hit all of the shit. But that means that some people who probably don't know or probably want to fuck with you going to put your name down. And then the real votes ain't going to where they need to be going. You know what I'm saying? Niggas might be advocating for you and whatnot. I'm just not a fan of it. I mean, we already got a troll.

We don't need another one.

That's how I feel.

Soulja Boy tweeted one day. And to be honest with you, this is the realest shit Soulja Boy ever said. He said, in this world, you either crank that Soulja or it cranks you.

Bro, that's profound.

That's some real shit, though.

You either crank that Soulja or the Soulja cranks you more.

It's the realest shit ever in life, huh?

You know what it remind me of? And if you can't swim, you bound to Drizzam.

Or the Glorilla one.

At the end of the day, the day going in.

Hey, that's some real shit. Because the day got to end, though. If you can't swim, you're going to drown. And if you don't crank that soldier, it's going to crank you.

I heard the one, the only way you're going to have a good day is if you hop out the bed and turn your swag on.

I remember when niggas was doing that, doing one-liner things. And I remember, I forgot what, Sage the Gemini had one. He had posted one, and it was the best one I ever heard. It was a video. It was a challenge that was happening. But I remember anyway.

Yeah, but in this world, you know, the sky is the limit, even though it's cliche to say. So if the standing president could not only run for president, win president, get fired... Run again. And do whatever the fuck he want.

Whatever the fuck he want.

He do whatever the fuck he want.

Execute niggas on TV.

Hey.

Just whatever.

He said, go hit L.A. and San Diego. You know, he's doing what he wants. Why can't Soulja Boy run for president? Kanye did it.

You know, we're not a political show, but I do want to.

Go back to what we talked about just a second because I want to break it down a little bit. We went and had breakfast with the mayor of Los Angeles, right? And she actually brought that shit up. Remember what she said?

She did.

She was like, yeah, our president, when he's not calling for us to be bombed. And then what was dope to me about that experience is because it's very rare that us as regular, I consider us to be regular as fuck.

Us as regular people get to.

Go sit with somebody who has the most authority or power in a city and be like, yeah, so what you want to ask? Nigga, that's more freedom than some of the artists that be pulling up to this motherfucker. Because it's like some artists come through here and they're like, yeah, we're not talking about this. We're not talking about that.

We're not talking about this. It's like, well, shit ain't nothing to talk about.

I don't want to talk to you.

Karen Bass and her team was like, so we're just going to take questions.

She basically said get cracking.

Yeah.

And it was just like, and she didn't duck none of the questions. And that's the type of shit I respect. Now, it's certain people who could pull that off. off because they genuinely either have nothing to hide or they genuinely just keep it real she kept it if I'm being honest she kept it too real a couple of times she was just like look and she was cussing you know I don't know if we should be supposed to but it was just a great experience to see quote unquote our politician be a human being be a citizen of the city And I think that's where, like, even in New York, Mom Donnie, I think that's where he wins over with the people is because he's looked at as a human being. Like, he be taking the little

scooters to work and shit, just regular shit that you would see other people doing.

Yeah.

And being able to understand where somebody's coming from, it's like, yeah, he's like, yeah, bro, it's trash on the street. I got to figure this out. It's fucked up. And to hear Karen Bass address some of the things, one of the main things that, to me, that stood out was, Well, we laughing about the Trump thing. But one of the main things that stood out to me was when she was addressing the homeless problem. And I know our homeless problem is a national story. Everybody complains about coming to L.A.

and they see the home. But ain't nobody trying to do shit or help or nothing.

Right.

And when she addressed, she was like, look, it was two things that stood out to me. One is the homelessness and the fires. Right. And two things that we still dealing with right now.

The homelessness. She was like, I have all of these things on the ballot.

Vote.

Basically. These are the things that I'm trying to fix it, but I don't control the budget. And this is why I actually want to talk about this is the education that comes with the responsibility. If you're going to talk shit, at least be educated on the shit that you're talking. She can build all of the houses she wants to for homeless. She don't control who goes in the houses.

The second thing was the fires. because that's something that i had a question too about oh she only talks about the palisades not altadena pasadena where the.

Black people she said that ain't my jurisdiction.

She's like i can't even go over there that's not even that's not in my jurisdiction that's a whole nother uh mayor or another person in charge.

But she getting blamed for i didn't know that.

Though because we look at la as a thing just like my new york homies they was explaining the same thing like yeah there's five boroughs or whatever however you want to consider harlem or whatever but There's a mayor, but then there's jurisdictions within these things and it's different people in charge. So when you see somebody getting beat up by the police or somebody being victimized, it's like there's other people that you can like tag in or tag on this post that actually can do something.

But I don't know.

I just want to bring it up because there's an education component to it. And somebody like Soulja Boy, I don't know if I see him. doing all the education it's going to take to actually thrive.

Nah, nah, nah. Soulja Boy for president. Was it 2029? 2028. It was 2028? Soulja Boy for president, 2028. We made it. I can't wait for his first rally.

I can just see.

Him coming out right now.

You! It's going to be Moneybagg, yo, and Carisha, nigga.

I can't wait for that rally. But I would like to see, though, obviously I'm trolling right now. I don't want Soulja Boy to be my president.

Right.

But I would like to see if he is, if he's actually taking it serious and this isn't like a rollout or like a stream-a-thon rollout or something like that. If there's not an album coming.

What's that shit called? What's the Kai shit called?

The mafia time.

This could be something like that. We don't know. Because Soulja does stream. But I want to know, like, if he is taking this serious, what changes does he want to make? What things does he want to implement? Like, what does he want to do as president? And are you sober?

That part.

Are you sober? And who's your first lady?

You know what?

Soulja, girl. Kiss me through the phone.

That was funny.

Stupid. But, yeah. Anyway, more power to them. All right.

Break this down. Break this papoose. So, we could do a whole episode just on papoose, Clarissa, Remy, and the easy shit. We don't got that kind of time.

I'm going to make it quick. Okay. I'm going to make it quick. So, papoose and Clarissa Shields are obviously dating.

Yeah.

Remy Ma is Papoose's ex. Remy Ma was at a point dating battle rapper Easy to Block Captain. At this point, it looks like they've broken up. Papoose had a battle with Kiss Lake this past weekend. And the day of the battle, he releases.

A diss track.

The Jezebel song?

No, Papoose dropped Jezebel.

Yeah. Oh, OK. Easy released.

Easy released a diss track where he was talking about he was talking about Papoose. He was talking about Clarissa. He even alleged that Papoose pulled a gun out on Remy, that Pap had cameras all around the house. What else did he say? He said, if I thought your bitch was bad, I'd come take her again, referring to Clarissa again. Um, he did this battle and in the battle, he wore a Letterman jacket, a Philadelphia Letterman jacket that had an L missing and the timeline tore him up. So the battle rap community, they took him through there. Like everybody had AI pictures of either them in the Philadelphia Letterman jackets with the letter missing, or they had Letterman jackets with their city with letters missing. Um, a few weeks ago,

or maybe, probably not a few weeks ago, probably over that, Meek Mill said that Philly, that Eazy was not from Philly. And I think he posted a clip of somebody on his story saying that Eazy wasn't from Philly, but basically, you know, saying the same thing. So, this was absolutely a horrible move because they already been trolling him saying that he not from Philly. And they like, if you really from Philly, you wouldn't make this type of error with this jacket. Now, in his defense... The Philadelphia wording on the Letterman jacket, the L is actually connected to the P. So it looks like the stick on the P is just a little bit, like, taller, if that makes sense. It's still a lowercase P, but the stick

on the original Letterman jacket. Now, the designer, he came out, he came forward, and he said, no, no, no, no, that's how my jackets look.

Oh, it's intentional.

It's intentional.

Got it.

But.

It wasn't like a random starter jacket or like.

Exactly. But a nigga from Philly, why would you do that?

Yeah. You know, like.

Was the designer from Philly?

I'm not sure. I'm going to assume, though.

All right.

I'm going to assume so. According to the timeline, I saw clips from the battle, and Kislay totally tore Eazy up. But what makes it so bad is that this battle took place on Eazy's league trenches. And... This is a soul. Eazy's getting tore up by the timeline for the diss track. He's getting tore up by the timeline for the jacket.

And then he's getting tore up by the timeline for losing on his own league. And I want to tear him up a little bit more. I want to tear him up a little bit more because Papoose and Clarissa won. They don't need to respond to this diss track. That shit was so trashed.

Oh, Eazy's track.

The shit was so trash. Like, Pap don't need to respond to this. Pap don't need to respond to this. Clarissa, she already kind of responded. She made a video or whatever. And I feel her. Why the fuck is you bringing my name up? Quit talking about me. And I didn't even appreciate, too, how Eazy brought up they kids. He said on his diss track, like, I pay for the baby birthday party or I spent money on the baby birthday party or something. Like, where was you at? he even took shots at, like, Pat for dating Clarissa, like, because of how the age gap between them. But it's like, don't you and Remy got the same fucking age gap? Like, I don't know everybody's ages here, but I'm going to assume.

You get what I'm saying? But it's just like, at this point, let it the fuck go. Like, it seemed like he kind of Like, he clout chasing right now.

What is his issue, though, initially? His initial issue was what, though?

He said that Pap is lying about him getting knocked out. There are several people who was there who have already confirmed this story. You got knocked out, nigga. And then he said, oh, I tried to set up the fade. He said he tried to set up the fade, and Pap didn't want to do that. He said Pap blocked him.

Pap didn't block you. I think Pap get cracky. I think Pap get cracking. Pap ain't no bitch. Pap ain't no bitch. But that's what happened.

So he dropped a diss track and he's mentioning Clarissa and he's mentioning the kids. Well, what's his angle? Like, what's his problem with them?

Oh, and then he put a song out too begging Remy to come back. I'm sorry I fucked up and all this stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

It just seemed like a lot going on.

But he got a Fashion Nova deal. He got a Fashion Nova deal from the jacket. Or that's what he said. That's what he said. In the battle rap community, they say that he's a liar. He also came out today. I'm not going to entertain that. I'm not going to entertain that lie that he said.

It just seemed like he's manufacturing energy to sustain whatever this beef is. Because he was initially with Remy. And that's kind of like how he kind of got involved, I guess.

Yes.

So, but they not together no more.

So leave it alone.

So why is it?

That's what I said. Like, what the fuck are you doing? And that's why I feel like Pap don't need to respond to this.

Because you not even with the person that you was connected to.

And that's what Clarissa said.

Yeah, like, what are you doing?

Yeah, she was like, you got broke up with. Like, what the fuck? And she was very respectful. She said the woman that he was with. he's no longer with her no more she broke up with him and now you coming at us like what are you doing it seems like he's writing his storyline out.

Like let it go I could see him probably next week dissing Remy at this point.

He gonna be dissing us next week.

Just to stay in the light well I don't I would I already I would love to know why he feels like this is energy that he needs to be dispersed like I don't know I don't understand the.

Angle Yeah, no, we don't either. Like, nobody understands this. And it's, I guess he was, now, you know me, normally I'm getting the booth. Rap, getting the booth. We didn't need this diss track. We didn't need none of this shit. And it's just like, you, for, because, okay, him and Remy not together no more, but they both just keep making the wrong decision. I feel like, you know, like, people been tearing her up for the Jezebel chain, the Jezebel jacket.

She fed into it too.

Yeah, she fed into it too. But like, I don't know. Easy is the biggest loser in this whole situation is easy. And then when when it first when everything first happened, some audio leaked of him on the phone saying like, yeah, I got screenshots. I got footage.

I got this. I got that.

Because, you know, loving hip hop, loving hip hop. We can do a whole thing on loving hip hop, basically like some shit like that. So you feed in the whole storyline.

It just seemed like a lot for no reason. Both of the reasons no longer exist. There's no records and the person that was the catalyst is gone.

You lost a bitch. You lost a battle. The jacket was wrong and the diss tracks was trash. What are we doing? Pap and Clarissa won. They won.

I'm with you. I don't see a reason to continue this whole thing, but I'm not him. God bless everybody.

For more bullshit, Dajon Love.

Oh, God.

This nigga.

So, I understand why people are intrigued by this. Because even to your point, what you said is, how in the fuck did these girls get themselves into this situation?

Yeah.

You know what I'm saying? And that's actually a sentiment that all of y'all have had. You, Irene, and Nay. It's like, how did this happen?

Let me add some context.

Okay.

Netflix is turning the viral Dajon Love scam into a new untold documentary titled Wide Receiver.

That's crazy.

It's not called Wide Receiver.

It's called Wide Deceiver.

Oh my goodness.

Love is accused of posing as a San Francisco 49ers player to scam more than two dozen women out of $ 1. 3 million through fake romantic relationships and fraudulent investments. The documentary will tell the story through firsthand accounts from those affected by the alleged scheme.

I don't need this.

I do, though.

I do, too.

I hope it's like 15 episodes. I hope it's like 15 episodes. I think I'm going to have a watch party.

I'm pulling that. We there.

I'm pulling that.

We going to cook. You want them greens and enchiladas?

I was going to say, you cooking.

Yeah, I'm going to cook.

It's going to be that soul food plate again.

Okay, I got you. I can't wait.

But this is what I think.

I think that I don't think that, so all these women have come out and be like, I've been scammed by this man.

I don't know shit about him until y'all brought.

Him to my attention, this nigga running around with his helmet, right? But the point is, I think the only way that they do this documentary is that they found people who haven't come out yet. One. Two, they found new information or something because Netflix is too sophisticated of a platform to do something like this without the thing.

I don't even think. the TikTok story time tellers even scratched the surface of how many women this man has scammed. Because even when the girls was coming out and telling the stories, now, I'm not the best at math, but I don't think the stories that we got is $ 1. 3 million. I think there's probably a plethora of women who still have not told their stories.

Yeah, because of embarrassment or whatever.

And even if it's not, I'll watch all this shit again. I'll watch all this shit again. This is some good TV.

It's going to be a lot of layers.

They still have to explain how he knows that Asian kid.

His accomplice.

They still have to go to what he was doing before he was impersonating an NFL player.

He was in stocks.

Or real estate. He was a prince.

Yeah, they got a lot of story to tell.

He was a prince. He was into stocks. He was a football player.

They need to interview AI, too, for lying on him.

So every scam you could think of.

Yeah.

Google Gemini. Yeah. It's a lot of layers.

It's going to be good.

It's going to be good.

Yeah, it's no way, bro. Because, like, I'm looking at it right now.

It's $ 1. 3 million defrauded. That's not. It's got to be something else. It's got to be more to this. Like, it has to be more money, some kind of assets or something. Because, don't get me wrong, that's a lot of money to scam.

Yeah.

Like, to be a successful scammer. You got to clear six figures like this nigga did seven. So, yes, he was a successful scammer. But at the same time, a Netflix doc for this nigga is to me is just a lot.

But you know how Netflix really going to do the fool with it? How Netflix really going to do the fool with it? They biggest one. When we get his side, when we get his side, we ain't heard from Dejan Love.

They following that court case. They going to be following it.

Yes.

They going to be following it.

We don't know where Netflix is going to take this. We might get spinoffs. This might be seasons.

Spinoffs. That's crazy.

You know? This nigga is a scammer. And the women, you call them bird.

What do you call them?

Bird.

Bird bitches.

Bird bitches.

Yeah, them bitches is birds.

You don't see how any of these women could have been scammed.

Okay. I do see how they could have been scammed if they're not the type of females who like overly investigate. You know, so us as girls, if a dude try to talk to us and we see that we might have a mutual follower or something like that, we're going to send it to the homegirl. Like, oh, you know him?

What's up with him? He in a relationship? What's going on? You got to get the 411 on people before you fuck them.

Or send them money.

Or send them money.

That's what I was about to say. Now, for me, when the athletes be in my DMs liking pictures and trying to get my attention, I always send it to our manager, Sadless, and say, what's his contract?

Just to make sure he a real player.

Just to make sure he got some money.

Okay.

Yeah.

I need to know if you a free agent, if you riding a bench, or if you like that. Because I'm not into sports. The only thing that I know about sports is the fine-ass niggas. So I could maybe lose out on my soulmate if I pass up on the wrong person.

Oh.

So I got to check the temperature. And also, I don't know these niggas, so I wouldn't know who to ask.

Right.

But you got to ask somebody, like, what's going on? Because you could fuck around and be a nigga that you think I'm going to be your fool bitch. I just got to make sure you can buy your own food.

Be the fool bitch.

Mm-hmm.

Niggas do that?

Yeah, they try.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

So, like, they make you buying food?

Yeah, yeah.

What?

You either like the fool bitch, you might be his shelter, like if he like homeless, like you the shelter. If he only hit you up after the streetlights, after the streetlights come on, because he needs somewhere to lay his head at at night.

Bro, what?

They all around.

Damn.

Some of your homies done did this. Like, why is y'all acting like we didn't grow up where we grew up? Yeah.

You'd be surprised.

Yeah, it's the car bitch. I was going to say car bitch. You drive her car to work.

Oh, because he need a car.

I mean, you drive her car while she at work.

She at work, yeah.

Uh-huh.

Damn.

Yeah, this is a thing. So I got to make sure all my ducks is in a row when niggas is sliding on me. But the way that they got caught up, I don't understand because.

Why is you sending him money?

He had too many cars that he was flexing. I don't want to go into a whole tangent about him again because I will. Because I will. Dajon Love is a whole episode for me. But the way that he was recording those selfie videos, reversing. Oh, my bad. That's my McLaren. Bitch, you're only reversing. Like, what you. That's my McLaren. I didn't even know what car you was.

I didn't even know you was in a car. You know, so I'm looking forward to this Netflix doc. I think this is. Remember the crash? Did y'all watch the crash? Y'all saw the crash? Remember at the end where the girl, where she, we heard her side?

Yes.

That's what I want.

You want to hear his side.

I want to hear his side.

What if he flip it, like where he tells you something? He says whatever he says, and now you on his side.

Well, he's a habitual liar and a scam artist, so he's most definitely going to flip all of this. I don't think that he's going to admit to none of these things. And he might, in his head, think he a 49er. These motherfuckers here, I think they Lakers.

Yeah, that's true.

They fight. They fight at games.

I know.

The Dodgers games. The Laker games.

Even the Rams.

The Rams, yeah. People think that they part of the team. Yeah. And you are. And who was we to tell him that he not a 49er? He got the helmet?

Apparently the authorities and the police. Shit, that jail cell said he ain't a 49er.

Free Dajon love, man.

Nah, I'm good.

Free Dajon love.

I do want to show some love to the homie Wiley. Because Wale, Everything is a Lot is one of the best albums. We talked about it at Nauseam at this point. But them Grammy considerations went out. So we need Wale to be considered. He has submitted, officially, Album of the Year Best Rap Album for Everything is a Lot. For Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Melodic Rap Performance, and Best Music Video for Watching Us with Leon Thomas. Best R & B Collaboration for Overthink. Best R & B song for Like I. Shout out to Andra Day, too, man. Best rap performance for Power and Problems.

Best rap song for Belly. That's my favorite song at this point. My favorite song changes, but Belly is now my favorite song on the album.

City on Fire for me.

And then best African music performance for YSF. So....

He submitted a good chunk of the stuff that you could submit for if everything is a lot. So I think he got a good shot.

What you think?

I think that Grammy don't need to play with Wale.

Everybody else be playing with Wale.

Stop playing with Wale, Grammy.

BET Awards played with Wale.

Grammy, if you can hear me, don't play with Wale. I need Wale's Everything Is A Lot to win Best Rap Album of the Year because why? It was actually the best rap album of the fucking year. We didn't get too many. Okay, we got a lot of music, obviously, last year. But in terms of the best music that came out last year, you're actually either deaf or blind if Wale is not up for nomination. Because it's already considered, right?

But it needs to be nominated. And then it needs to be won.

So right now, he's been nominated for Best Rap Song for Lotus Flower Bomb in 2013 with Miguel.

And that's it.

That's crazy.

Yeah, remember we was having a conversation. Is Wale Blackball?

I think it was last Grammys we was actually talking about Wale.

No, that was like a few months ago.

Oh, okay.

But I feel like if, I mean, obviously I've been asking this question, is Wale Blackball? And I don't know if he is or not. I was just having a conversation. But I think that this is going to give me the answer.

What, if he don't win anything?

If he don't win anything?

If he don't win nothing?

If he don't win anything, Grammy got me effed up.

If he don't win nothing, that's a little questionable. Because he submitted a lot of everything is a lot.

And the music is fucking good. It's not like Wale submitted music that wasn't good. He submitted music that was actually freaking good. Everything is a lot is still in my rotation. City on Fire is crazy. You ever heard that on the freeway?

Yeah.

Late night? With the heater on?

No, I don't ride with the heater on.

Oh.

Yeah. You want to be cold? A little bit?

Mm-mm.

Oh.

But, yeah, I definitely think he deserves to win something.

He deserves to win everything. Because, like you said, what was the last one?

2013?

2013 was the last. That's over 10 years. That was the last nomination. That wasn't even a win.

Yeah, that's crazy. But, yeah, I'm tripping on Grammy.

Everything is a lot. Go run that up.

And if you are on the board, man, pay attention because there's some shit going on outside in Wiley.

Everything is a lot.

It's one of them ones for sure.

Who on the board? Because I'm ready to get into it with whoever on the board. You on the board.

Irene's on the board.

Oh, everybody in this fucking room on the board.

Nah.

I got invited, but I haven't done mine yet.

I'm not a voting member.

I can't vote.

What y'all on the board for then?

It's just you on the board for what?

Nothing.

I'm just like, I'm afraid of Gina.

Irene can vote.

Irene can vote.

You a voting member?

No, I can't vote yet.

Yeah, you have to get your weight up to be a voting member.

So what do y'all do?

Basically, it's kind of like a biker gang. You're a prospect right now, and then you get your weight up, and then you can get to a voting member.

What can you do right now?

Just campaign. You can campaign.

You can go get blunts from the store.

That's it.

You can campaign for people and stuff like that, but you also can go to... The reason why I wanted to join is so that I could get into meetings and see how they do this shit. I want to know what the process is like. So now that I understand it, Now it's like, all right, now I want to get my weight up so I can be a voting member as opposed to just being on the outside complaining.

Y'all need to go kick on Grammy door since I'm in here with all these members. Y'all need to go kick on Grammy door. Wale deserves a Grammy for everything is a lot, at least one of the songs or something, but I'm going for that album. He need best rap album because not only is the album freaking good, he's been the most consistent rapper too. Wale's been very fucking consistent.

He been outside. He's engaging with the fans, and he's been dropping music and freestyles.

And freestyles.

And he's been following up. Overthink wasn't even on the album.

No.

He's just been following up with stuff. I think he dropped two songs.

Yeah.

He dropped two songs.

Well, that freestyle, I mean, his freestyles be going crazy anyway.

And let's not act like, what's this one with Leon Thomas?

Watching Us.

Watching Us.

I think that's the one that I would probably like. I think that's the one people are going to pay the most attention to outside of the album. I think because that one was special. Like, you had the Guaple, and Leon Thomas is, I think he won, he was nominated as well. So, like, Leon Thomas is one of them artists where people in that community, even if, like you said, Wale is blackball, right? Let's say that's true.

I know that they fuck with Leon Thomas. So, it's like, I think that's where the best path to victory comes for me, but I would like him to get Best Rap Album.

I also don't know who else is going to be nominated.

I don't give a fuck. If my boots wasn't this big, I'd stand on this chair right now and yell at Grammy.

But I'm just saying, these are considerations. The nominations are going to be announced. But Wale definitely deserves that nomination and that victory.

Who else deserves a Grammy win is that young Miami.

For Spin That. Yeah.

I think she's going to win.

She needs that.

And I want to see her performing at the Grammys.

That's going to be interesting. I don't know.

I don't know.

I have no information. I see her being nominated. I see her winning. I don't know if I see her performing. Not because it's bad, but just because I know people, like, that whole conversation. Like, a lot of these times, they stay away from the controversy. I notice BET lean into the shit. Like, when they had Offset and Quavo perform, or, like, when they have, like, the Grammys usually, they don't even really air a lot of our shit.

That's what I was about to say. They might not even televise none of this rap stuff.

They don't even air our shit no more. Like, I think they aired one. one black music category last time on TV. But like, yeah, we've kind of been ousted a little bit. So we'll see what's up.

Well, Summer Walker is currently getting backlash.

Again.

Again. And this time I'm on Summer Walker's side.

Baby, I ain't gonna lie. I'm gonna be honest with you. Now, go ahead and get a backstory on this real quick.

So Summer Walker was at a restaurant. She was eating, minding her business. And the people who, somebody took a picture of her. And they were upset. They said that her attitude was nasty. She was rude. Summer Walker clapped back and said, I sang happy birthday with the people that was behind me. I'm chilling. I'm eating my food.

And y'all edited my face on this.

This shit AI.

She said, and y'all edited my face in this picture. But I don't understand why people feel so entitled to public figures.

Because people are entitled in general. Also, they feel like They feel like that you're their artist. It's kind of like what you're saying about the teams. Like, niggas feel like they on the 49ers. Like, no, bro, you don't play for the 49ers, bro. You have to be on the official roster. So, I'm going to be honest. Summer Walker is me. Her and I have had things that in the past or whatever, she hasn't been my, you know, favorite figure.

But I do think people be fucking with her.

Yeah. Like, I do think, like, there's a section of the internet or people who just be like, kind of like picking on her a little bit. And granted, celebrities can be a little nasty if they just don't want to be bothered or if they're having a bad day. But celebrities are human beings. You might have a bad day.

I might have a... I just told you what the fuck was going on in my life, right? I try not to show that and no one knows what I have going on and I do a good job, but everybody ain't the same. But to your point, nobody owes you a picture, an autograph, a happy birthday song.

They know how.

Just because you ran into Jim Jones in the club don't mean Jim Jones got to pay for your bottle. That's not how this shit works, bro. I think that there's some sort of infatuation that Americans have with celebrities that's led us down this path of bullshit. That's how we got this president. That's how we got these reality stars.

That's how we get these people who, you know, stream and just different things like that. People are obsessed with celebrity to the point where now if I see Gina Views in a parking garage, I feel.

Like I could just touch her.

Yeah, they do, though.

You know what I'm saying? It's like, nah, nigga.

They literally do.

That's not how this works.

Yeah, I'm not mad at Summer for sitting down and enjoying her meal and not engaging or engaging to the extent that she wanted to, that her mental capacity allowed her to. Sometimes she probably does so much peopling and socializing that her battery is probably dead. You know, like, and who wants to come to a restaurant and make this day about me? I just want to eat this food.

She was chilling with her feet kicked up and everything.

And to be fair, Summer is documented as having social anxiety. Like, she's been very public about her anxiety with even being in public, performing, being around people, blah, blah, blah.

I don't know.

I'm not her psychiatrist. I'm not her doctor. I don't know if that's real or not. But she's publicly, you know, talked about these things. So that plus this interaction doesn't help.

Mm-mm. Mm-mm. But shout out to Summer Walker. You got a question?

Yes.

Okay.

So I saw this online and I just wanted to get the take of the room. So there was an online question. It was basically like, if you have your person, you found your significant person, this is the person, but you get caught lacking, you end up cheating. Your person's best friend catches you cheating, got the evidence. And it's like, look, you either run it with me or I'm going to blow your relationship up. What you doing?

This is actually a Tubi movie. I saw this on Tubi. The character, but it was the world's reverse. So the man was at his bachelor party and It was at his house and his fiance's best friend walked in on him getting hit. And then she was like, either you going to fuck me or I'm going to tell on you. So she got a car out of him. She got a house out of him. She ended up getting pregnant.

Oh my God.

Like, yeah, she just can't continue to like blackmail him and stuff down to like where they will be having sex while the wife was in the other room.

No way.

Just because he was scared that to scare the tail. So as I'm watching the movie, I'm like, you really got leverage because us as women, we do forgive men for cheating.

Yeah.

We, for whatever reason, females don't hold the men that they're in a relationship with to the same standard that they hold their homegirls to. So girls will stop talking to their homegirl over a nigga, but they won't stop talking to that same nigga that they beefing with their homegirl over.

Mm-hmm.

I feel like if you are the cheater, the cheaty is foul. The cheaty is the friend. The cheaty is foul.

The one who's trying to blackmail.

Yes.

Because, bitch, you saw my nigga cheating on me and you're not going to tell me? And then you start fucking him? And then you blackmailing him? You's a weirdo. You's a fucking weirdo. But I probably ain't going to say nothing.

I love when you wait until this long-ass tangent and you're just like.

It's cool. Because why am I cheating anyway? Like, I'm already fucking cheating. I'm already cheating.

So you're just going to run it just so he don't tell?

No, I wouldn't fuck my dude homie.

Nay?

I have too many questions.

It depends on a lot.

No, we're not. Just go ahead and tell him.

Just go ahead and tell him.

You just got to tell on me.

Just tell him. Irene.

Yeah, just tell him because if I'm cheating, then I don't really care about him anyway.

So I was going to do what I want.

I'm already unhappy.

Yeah, regardless.

So let's talk about it.

Regardless.

As a matter of fact, I made sure that you caught me so you could tell him.

Oh, she playing Mario Kart?

That's that Scorpio.

That's that Latin shit.

So we can break up, huh?

That's that mind game bullshit.

This is all your fault.

Exactly. Actually, to be fair, you his friend, you should tell him that I'm doing this because of him.

Exactly. Yeah, because why am I cheating?

Exactly.

Why I'm cheating?

You unhappy.

No, that's, I mean, I don't want to get into that.

Cheating is one thing, but fucking your nigga's friend, that's a whole nother level of grimy.

Yeah, because that's crazy.

That's crazy. And then just to keep a secret? Yeah.

Just to keep a secret?

No, I'm a fan of the Kevin Hart shit. I go on live. Just so y'all know, if y'all ever see me randomly going live, I'm just something cracked off, and I'm like, look, let me tell y'all what's going on.

You better not put them people in that business.

Oh, my God. I like the Kevin Hart.

If somebody trying to blacken, Kevin Hart was like, this bitch, hey, look, this bitch trying to extort me.

I cheated on my wife in Vegas. You know what I'm saying? I like that. That's gangster to me. Like, yeah. So now you can't extort me, PB.

Don't ask him that in that relationship. Oh, yeah. What you think he gonna say? What you think them niggas gonna say? Like, what the fuck?

I'll be getting some people happy.

Don't even put me in that scenario.

That's crazy. My bad.

So you're telling yourself?

Yeah. I'm a fan of that anyway. I mean, yeah.

I like to. I'm not mad at exposing a foul friend.

In what way?

Like, you're... Because I'm a.

I probably would just keep lying and act like I never cheated. But I'd be like, you know your boy trying to fuck me.

Yeah, definitely.

That has to be told. Yeah, your boy's trying to fuck me. I'm not going to tell what I did. You got to catch me red-handed. No, you know what I would do?

She's going to spin it.

I would go back to my man and be like, yo, he's going to tell you that I was cheating, but it's because he was trying to fuck me.

Yes!

So I'm just like, I'm letting you know before he tells you. Because believe me, I'm always two steps ahead.

Don't fuck with me.

I like that.

This is some real manipulated bullshit going on. Avery, you feel me?

Well, everybody's manipulated.

Avery, what you say? Man, don't do it, Avery.

What'd he say?

You turn your mic on, Avery.

You sound low, though.

Can't trust him.

Can't trust him.

Sounds like a man in a relationship.

Yeah. Two words, huh?

Okay, now how do you feel about your homie? Trying to fuck your girl, catching your girl cheating, and then trying to fuck her and not telling you that she was cheating.

I'm not fucking with nobody. I blow everything up.

Yeah.

Because I've had that before where one of my homies tried to fuck with my girl. Like, that was normal back in the day. Like, niggas trying to... Like, they... That's why I don't respect that approach. It's like, you're trying to get at me by fucking my girl, but if you can fuck my girl, that ain't my girl. So.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean?

Like, okay, y'all be happy. And then when you move on, it's like, they wonder where you, like, why you not reacting? I'm like, that's not my girl. That's your girl now. You know what I'm saying?

Thank you.

Well, immediate family, let us know. What would you do in this scenario?

I saw, did you see people on Twitter?

Yes.

A lot this week oh how was that i like that i.

Forgot to say it was really good so now because we talked about that a lot so now i feel pressure to drop it but it makes sense for me to drop it because technically you know when you wrote when you're dropping something you go do those interviews so i didn't even think about it like that when she had booked me but now i'm like Oh, shit, that's low-key like a press run. Yeah. You know, so I kind of, I got to put it out now.

Yeah.
