Hello ladies and gentlemen welcome to another weekly geek this time featuring the whalers i am your breaking down kirkland patzer.
Hello my name is dylan moss yeah i feel like it's been a minute since we've had a whaler we did a side quest recently but since we've done a weekly geek the whalers have been on the bench i think.
I feel like we had a weekly geek like less than a month ago like we are in october now and it is already like halfway through october i feel like there was one in september because at that time it felt like it had been a very long time and then you reminded me it's like well we got a side quest coming up so it was like a nice little two week you and me but uh nonetheless i'm glad it's just just the two of us hopefully for the whole cast we'll see um but yes ladies and gentlemen we got a i mean it's kind of side quest's themed with, we got a GTA trailer to, to break down and talk to you about. Um, well, I will bring up the trailer so that we can kind.
Of go through it.
If, uh, there's any major crazy deets that you want to break down, uh, we'll give our thoughts there and got some updates with, um, what was it called? My gosh, the, uh, Marvel zombies special and, a couple of little Marvel BS meters topics that we'll go through. And then, uh, Of course, we'll discuss what we've been watching and what that might be.
So that's kind of the little rundown of what you got for this week's show. But yeah, I don't know. Do you want to end off with what you've been watching? Or do you want to start it now? I feel like we usually break bread at the start of these episodes. Try to be a little bit informal. So it's like, oh yeah, how you been doing? I guess I could just say that. It sucks because I kind of did this before cast. So it's like, I just want to recap.
I know. I feel like sometimes we just got to enter the StreamYard room and just hit play. But sometimes it's nice for some of our life to not be recorded.
That's a good point.
Yeah. If I'm like, hey, how's it going? It's like some tragic thing that you'd like. Okay. I might just not talk about that. But I mean, I think that we can start with what we've been watching. I think it's pretty short for me. I'll say what I've been listening to because you can see everything is coming out. Well, I guess it's out tonight, rather, is the Nathan Fielder documentary. Oh, that's right.
I don't think we have showings here for that, unfortunately.
Yeah, apparently it's only at Landmark. And I think there are some showings here. So I'm probably going to go see that in the next few days. I'm not seeing it tonight, obviously, but I'm going to go see that in the next few days. But, you know, I was excited for this because it's Nathan Fielder's next project and he's always doing weird, cool stuff. Elizabeth Holmes, though, whose documentary is about, I didn't really know anything about her.
So the last couple weeks, I've been listening to some podcasts and just also doing some research on my own to learn about what was going on with this woman and this company that she started and all the fraud and all this kind of interesting stuff and so many rabbit holes with it and how odd of a person she is and the things she did. So that has been a good one I've been listening to because now I feel like I am... kind of caught up. I feel like I have good context going into the documentary.
I was debating should I just go in cold and just let it take me where it takes me, but I think I'm glad that I got some of this background information. I'm sure it'll make it just even more enjoyable when I finally get to it. So yeah, hopefully on my next Weekly Geek or maybe we'll do a review or something. I don't know who's seen it. I guess you guys don't have showings in Kelowna, so we'll see when you see it. But that is definitely what I'm most looking forward to coming up soon here. And other than that, I think I've just been watching Jeopardy, Kirkland.
That's what I've been doing. Just putting on a nice, light Jeopardy.
Full old man era.
Something to have in the background because I don't very rarely do I sit down to watch a thing. It's usually like, let me put on Jeopardy and then go fold laundry and do the dishes. That's fair. Have this thing on for some auditory stimulation in the background. So that's pretty much it. I don't think I've seen a movie recently. Don't think I've watched a TV show recently.
So yeah, it's been pretty light for me on what I've been watching.
Is that like, do you think, do you think, because like for me personally, I feel like I have to have some sort of like stim while I'm doing those types of like music, audio book. I feel like I really like doing that. If I'm folding laundry, that's a great combo. In the kitchen, I've like transformed into an iPad kid. I was telling you League of Legends Worlds is starting up so I've been watching games on there that's kind of like in the kitchen when I'm cooking that's what I'm watching or some random YouTube thing on there.
I feel like I just can't do it like silence or whatnot. I just feel like it is work at that point. I'm not actually just doing chores around the house. I'm clocking in and I'm doing I'm putting in my time to do the task.
I know it's funny when I think about generations in terms of introduced to different types of tech and things like that and I feel like we are in a sweet spot where we're not like too much of iPad kids. Like I feel like that generation, it might be kind of rough out there when they're adults in terms of like stimulation and tension spans and all those things. Cause even I like you, I'm like, I constantly need something on, uh, especially cause I live alone at my house. So it's like, if I don't put something on, there is not anything happening.
Like it's quiet. And so I definitely need something on. And sometimes I find myself, I'm like, Dude, I'm playing a video game right now. I have a YouTube video on the side, and there's music on. This is effed up. This cannot be good for the human brain. So I try... Now that I'm like... I'm trying to be cognizant of that, and I'm trying to dial back. I'm trying to be like, okay, it's okay to exist in silence. I'm going to live with this. I'm going to just be with my thoughts for a bit here. Most of the time, it is music or something, but I've been trying to be extra cognizant with the multiple things going on at the same time.
I think that is where I'm... concerned about what i'm gonna do to my brain long term um one thing music is good and i've been doing that a lot because i well i guess here let me share this to another what i've been listening to my favorite band right now wolves of glendale had a concert uh here in vancouver last weekend so and they had a new album come out like a month ago so i've been listening to that non-stop and since the concert i'm listening to the album even more and all the other musics i'm just so obsessed so in that in that world uh but yeah so that's mostly what i've been listening to as well like in terms of those downtime moments while I'm doing dishes, while I'm cooking. A lot of
Wolves of Glendale. But yeah, very much like you, I need stuff on, but I'm also trying to reel it in and make sure it doesn't control me, if that makes sense.
Yeah. As long as you're cognizant of it, I feel like that's the first step, right? It's funny, we were just talking about that little generational in-between that we're in. Somebody told me, I think it was this week, it might have been Bishay. Apparently, did you hear the term the Zillennial?
That does... The Zillennial. So apparently it's a micro generation. Like a Gen Z millennial?
Yeah.
Okay.
Micro generation of people born on the cusp of millennials and Generation Z, typically spanning from 1993 to 1998.
Okay. So that's our bucket. That's our bucket, apparently. Yeah.
I didn't know this was a thing, but I mean, I Googled it and it's got some pages on here. So that's kind of interesting.
So what do you want to identify as? Zillennial or millennial?
Well, I always felt like weird saying I was a millennial because like, like, I don't really remember the definition of that. People would say, oh, you remember what life was like before 9-11? And I'm like, okay, well, I don't really. I feel like I was old enough to kind of know that that happened.
The cutoff is 98. It is 98, okay. This is what it says on here, on the Wikipedia. So it's like, yeah, we're barely in there.
Yeah.
For what it's worth. It's true.
We're still in there. I feel like I don't want to be called a Zoomer or a general... Generation Z type people. Because, like, that also seems too young for me personally.
Yeah, I agree.
Like, I never took... Like, when I was in school, we didn't have online classes because of a pandemic or something like that. I guess that would be maybe after the fact. I don't know.
What I want to know, Kirkland, is which generation came up with this term, the millennial? Is it a self-proclaimed thing for the millennials or Gen Z that don't feel like they could fit their bucket?
Yeah.
Or is it the millennials trying to marginalize other millennials that they don't want to be associated with? Or is it like the Gen Z who are trying to make themselves feel a bit older? And so they're trying to move themselves into this bucket that they don't technically belong within.
That's a really good question, actually. I feel like it is just some random Redditor. I don't know what.
Generation it would have been. Yeah, it's got to be a TikTok trend or some Reddit thread that turned into a TikTok trend, which is probably indicative of Gen Z.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, because maybe it could be a millennial because they're like, oh, yeah, these people that think they're millennials aren't actually millennial. They're lesser, so then they would call them a Zoomer. But maybe the Zoomers would be offended by the millennials trying to get in with them, so then they coined it.
I don't know. It's a good question.
It's a good rabbit hole. I never thought I'd want to go down, but nonetheless.
I feel like that's the limit I want to go down, that rabbit hole. Otherwise, it's like, what are we even doing here?
That's a really good point.
At the end of the day, it's not like there's something different in our DNA system. genome that makes us a millennial you know it's just an arbitrary thing anyway.
Yeah so absolutely true yeah um i was gonna bring this up but now it just i totally got dicked by this fucking page on cineplex i'm.
Sorry what happened i was gonna pull this up.
You can see everything amazing page amazing poster absolutely fantastic to tie.
Back into what you two hours and 55 minutes Whoa. That's surprising. That's surprising.
Absolutely.
Whoa. This is like a half a season of the rehearsal. I can't wait. On here, it showed like a theater.
Like I just clicked on this movie. I clicked on the theater, Cineplex. I'm like, oh man, maybe there's a show on October 15th. And then right below here, right where my mouse is right now, it just said in bold letters, this theater is very, very far away from you. And then I... realized that it was for langley so shout out to cineplex for putting that little disclaimer in there of bold letters i.
Thought it was only a landmark and this is cineplex so maybe i gotta broaden my horizons and look at other theater options too maybe Yeah. So click this button. It's getting very good reviews. Not that I care much about that for a Nathan Fielder project anyway, but.
Yeah, no, that's true. I am excited to see that project and getting back to what you're saying about just doing your little research, going into it if you want to go in blind. I think I just watched like a little YouTube breakdown of like what the story, who the person is. And I think I'm okay with like leaving it there and then jumping into it now. But I am glad I did that because I don't think, I mean, maybe the documentary will kind of gloss over who she was like yeah i'm sure they will do that actually for the general audience people that don't really know anything but i'm at least glad i watched that little youtube video breaking down let me let me find the name of the one that i listened to yeah
well i listened to i listened to one that was citation needed i didn't think that one was all that uh good the one that i thought was good was coffee and cults is the name of the the pod for that so if you search that Because this person who did this podcast is like a fanatic about this thing.
Just following this story forever. And so that one I thought was very good. So Coffee and Colts. Hour 44 worth of breakdown of the story.
Damn.
Pretty good stuff.
Do my hour 44 breakdown going into my two hour and 55 minute movie. I'm going to know this story like the back of my hand.
And then I'll probably lead you down a rabbit hole afterwards too. And I'm sure there's going to be All sorts of crazy fallout of what Holmes is going to do next after this documentary hits and like, she's back on top in terms of media attention. So yeah, it'll be true. It'll be, it's really, this is going to stir the pot if it has not already. So that'll be fun.
Yeah. Crazy thing about that whole situation for me was just like actually learning about how wild it was that this was even made. Like, like the fact that this is just such like a recent case and stuff. And then like this whole documentary was just made in secret and she like reached out and wanted Nathan Fielder to come live with it. All of those details to me are just blows my mind that I'm like, I have to watch this now. This is insane.
And as far as what Nathan Fielder does, it's not even that weird. This is pretty tame for him. But I don't know. We'll have to see when the documentary actually comes out because some of those trailers were fucking wild.
Yeah, for sure.
Cool.
All right.
Thanks for your little update there.
For me.
What I've been watching. I started East of Eden on Netflix. That's that Florence Pugh project. I should pull up the cast because I don't remember the other two chaps' names. But one of the guys from Challengers, he's really fantastic. And I thought I had the other guy's name, but I'm drowning right now. I see you clicking and clacking.
Hopefully you're helping me out here.
I'm clicking and clacking.
Or not, you're just searching something else.
I'm not done yet. That's who you're looking for. And Mike Feist. There you go. Yeah.
Yeah, absolutely. Thank you.
And then who's the other chap?
Who's the other lead in there?
The male? Mike Feist and Christopher. Mike Feist. Yeah.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Both all performances really, really good. I think there's seven episodes. I think I'm on episode five now. I fell asleep while watching it with Shay and she was very patient with me. She said I have till like the following day to catch up and I totally forgot to watch them. So then she just finished the show without me. So fair enough to her. She gave me the heads up and I dropped the ball. So I'm, Two episodes, or, yeah, three episodes left on that one. And I have, like, mixed feelings on it because it is, like, really well made.
Florence is fantastic, obviously. The other two male leads, fantastic. I think all, like, even, like, the side actors and stuff in here, very, very, like, just well made. There's really beautiful shots, really great sets that we go to. It's a period piece, so, like, you expect it to look like that period, and I think that they nail it.
I think it looks really good. There's just like so many like time jumps though. Like it only is seven episodes, uh, and they cover not like hundreds of years, but like, you know, from the time that they're like younger to older and, uh, like totally age up. So I feel like there is a lot of skipping around and it is a book. And I don't know if it's like a series or if it is just one novel, but it, it just seems like a tall task to like take that and put it into seven episodes. I guess technically it is longer than like what a movie would be. So, so there's good counter argument there, but, uh, I'm just, like, conflicted because I feel like there is, like, bad stuff that happens to a certain character, but, like, they're not
really a good person. But, like, am I supposed to feel bad for them because of what happened, like, earlier on in their adventure? And then they just feel like terrible people. So it is a conflicted watch, but it is, like, captivating that I am just, you know, pulled in on it. And, yeah, it's a different type of adventure than I was expecting.
I had no idea what to expect.
Funny when i jumped in with shay she's like i don't think you're gonna like it like i don't think it's what you're gonna be expecting and it's definitely not what i was expecting at all but um i was pretty roped in by the first episode i thought it was really good and it doesn't really like get into the like the first episode is just like backs giving backstory on like two characters spoiler like florence isn't even really in that first episode like at all so like i was like really interested in what was happening there but then it like time skips and then i'm like oh i feel like i just kind of lost my investment there.
But maybe it'll round out by the end.
You know, I'm not done it, so I don't want to judge it too harshly until I am done the whole shebang there. But, yeah, I think I would recommend it, especially if you're a fan of Florence, because Florence is fantastic in here. But, yeah, that's kind of, like, the main thing I've been watching right now. And then just Worlds.
There's going to be games on probably all the time now, so I'm pretty pumped. It's, like, I think we're a week or so away from, like, the actual, like, When, like, the Korean teams come in, because obviously they get, like, buys past the first round. Like, it is just play-ins right now. But I'm just, I'm fiending for those games, so I'm watching all of it. But, yeah, no, that's kind of been my consumption of material right now. I have been re-going through the Lord of the Rings audiobooks, actually.
So I mentioned when I was folding laundry, I'm going to audiobooks. Restarted Fellowship, because I was just, like, I was thinking about, like, a certain... chapter from Fellowship and I was like man I just want to go in there with Andy Serkis narrating and I just started the whole book again and right now I'm on they're in Moria right now they're like just about to escape Moria Gandalf's still with them but still they're getting chased by the Balrog and stuff so it's pretty exciting and those are just such great lessons so I highly recommend those reads too but I don't really read books that much these days but regardless that's been what we've been watching so Nice.
Good luck.
Little nice little meat and potatoes before the main event.
So main event is here.
GTA 6 official launch trailer. I was kind of surprised seeing that title because I just felt like we've seen like first looks now or like a run through of the story or something like that and then this is just like the official I guess release trailer now.
We've had just the one teaser.
I feel like there's been like a lot of media. Obviously there's been leaks and and whatnot a plethora of that also that's gotten out but i i feel like i've stayed away for the most part from that um i feel like i didn't even really pay too much attention to the the previous one that came out you and travis kind of broke down.
There yeah like a half an hour showcase yeah yeah i was.
Just like you know what they're getting my money like i'm gonna be playing this game regardless so like i don't really need to see anything about it um but i i thought there was a good trailer like it didn't do anything in terms of like blowing me away or or deterring me or anything because it's just like i know they're gonna have my money it's grand theft auto i know what i'm getting the cities look more detailed which is kind of what i'm expecting um i'm like just watching this and i'm just wondering how my ps5 like i have a ps5 you know this is released on ps5 but like I'm like, man, I feel like my PS5 slogs sometimes. Like if I'm playing like an Elden Ring or something, like there's times we get
like frame drops. I'm looking at this.
I think this is 30 FPS on a console.
Yeah.
Okay. Yeah. So there you go. That's what it'll be. And hopefully it stays like a nice steady 30 the whole way. It better for sure. But it just seems like there's so many moving parts and my PS5 ain't new anymore. You know, it's been around the block. It's chugging along.
So it works great.
But just looking at this new plethora of games and for how big GTA is going to be. I hope it holds up nicely and it doesn't take away from the cinematic experience because there's a lot of crazy cinematic shots in here. It was reminding me of like the Spider-Man video game at parts when they're on like the helicopter swinging by like the skyscrapers. I'm like, man, this is like right out of the Spider-Man 2 opening with Sandman chasing Spidey. But yeah, no, I think it's a really great looking trailer. It's going to be an awesome game.
I like the music in here. Obviously show our characters. um together and yeah it just it's just a solid gta trailer i guess i don't have anything like i don't know they didn't change the game with what this trailer was but like they don't really have to at all i guess it's just now they got the official trailer out and that's.
That yeah yeah i mean i i think i'm in kind of the same boat as you or probably even less so because i did watch that big breakdown that they did like a month or two ago or i guess it was yeah it was in august i think right so And I think a lot of the shots in here were like repeat shots from that from from what I remember like a lot of stuff in here looked pretty familiar to me and yeah I mean I think in all the other trailer showcases whatever we've seen there's been a lot of like fun little like story either fun story details or like gameplay mechanic things. to latch onto. And I feel like this is the first time where I've kind of had a showing of this game where I didn't feel like I really learned anything new.
Other than like, I feel like the main thing for me is just with them doing a launch trailer, which again, I feel like a launch trailer month out is kind of weird to call it that, but you know, call it whatever you want. But it does kind of reassure to me that this game is, in fact, on time. It's not going to get delayed again, which I didn't think it was at this point. But just nice to have that confirmation, as it were. So, yeah, I think this looks great as per usual. But, yeah, there wasn't anything in here that, like, shocked me or made me any more excited than I already am. I'm kind of just waiting, counting down the days at this point. Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I feel like it seems like maybe some of the more storytelling focused elements of
this are kind of shining a little bit more light on jason's background in whatever like army or not army but like whatever crew he was with and that kind of sheds light on his professional background and how he's going to be like a good gun guy but then like also lucita who doesn't really have that background but she's also a gun guy at the same time which is a lot of gta stuff um but yeah i mean i i'm very excited for this game uh i don't even know i don't even know what they could show me at this point that would get me more stoked uh because i feel like i'm already kind of near 100 in terms of the hype level for this so yeah a solid.
Trailer dan steely dan in there or that would.
Be great uh because it's really down a lot of other songs are about slimy kind of characters which i feel like would fit naturally it fits so well oh fits so well but yeah i don't think that's quite the vibe and maybe there's one steely dan song in there but you know it's probably not deep cut anyway so i don't.
Care The radio always has like all genres, right? There's like a country station. I'm excited for the radio, honestly. I feel like when I hear like certain songs that will randomly pop on, I'm like, man, this is straight out of GTA. And I just get transported back to riding on that freeway after robbing a bank or something.
And I am excited to be playing it with the boys eventually when the online comes out too. That's going to be a fun chapter.
Absolutely.
Cool. I got the trailer here. I will bring it up and we will do our thing as we always do. How's that volume?
I got in some trouble in the army.
Didn't live on the best of terms.
They don't give loans or anything to people like me.
It was really loud for me.
I couldn't hear you.
Sorry. It's still kind of loud. Oh, okay. I couldn't even hear you tell me that it was too loud. Okay. Yeah. That's probably indicative. I didn't hear it.
Yeah.
I mean, yeah, lighting looks gorgeous. A gecko on the street? I don't think we had those in GTA 5. Yeah, they had the fucking.
Okay, so that was his army detail. He's like straight out of Splinter Cell here. I actually didn't even notice this the first time. Nice, okay.
The longer hair too. What do you think about the longer hair look on him?
I like the hair growth system they had for Red Dead 2. I don't know why I stopped at this specific scene, but the lighting is just so gorgeous. So I am excited that I imagine it's going to be implemented in here also, like for both characters. I imagine if Lucia gets her haircut as the game goes on, it'll grow naturally. So it's always a cool detail. I feel like for me, like Witcher 3 was like the first game that kind of had that where like Geralt's hair would like grow like as you like quest on.
And that was just such a mind blowing feature. Not around enough in games these days, but I don't know. Maybe I'm not playing enough modern RPGs.
No, I don't think it's very common at all, yeah.
Yeah.
It'd be cool to see more of that. A lot of action set pieces in this trailer. I feel like some of that stuff was new, like the Spider-Man-y kind of moment that you highlighted earlier.
That looked like right out of the cinematic shot when you do a jump that's off the highway, like.
On the motorbike there.
Getting gains.
Another snake. Another snake.
Are we going to be okay?
Oh, yeah. There's that Spider-Man shot.
Yeah, a lot of helicopters, which is not surprising. Aim for the bushes. Yeah, jump into some pools as a couple.
And you get the classic video game narrator when you get video game trailers on the TV. Man, nostalgic. Great cityscape, though. I love the look. of returning back to Vice City.
Yeah, man. I mean, what else is there to say?
I'm excited. It's going to be a great time. I'm going to be there.
Yeah, me as well. Yeah.
Cool. Those are our GTA thoughts. I'll let the man know. I guess I should have pinged him earlier. Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to be taking our first ad break here and then jumping into our next topics. But before we get there, I'm going to give a special shout out to our Patreon because that is the single greatest place to support us. You get everything early, ad-free, and exclusive.
There's different tiers on there. At the $ 5 tier and up, that's where you get everything ad-free. All of our retro lists, too, that we've done. Man, I... The other day I was just thinking of like, man, I wonder how many retros that we've done in our Geekverse lifetime career and how many we will do going forward because this podcast isn't winding down. If anything, we're ramping up. And ladies and gentlemen, if you are in that $ 5 tier or higher, you get access to all of them ad free. Like I said, there's Patreon exclusive ones on there. At our highest tier, we got our Patreon producer tier.
Shouts out to them.
April of Darkness, Jack Grant, Superbad Mike, Look at God loves me 69. AKA Norman Reedus fetus.
Hidalgo. Hey, yeah.
Oh, Lenny Kravitz in there. Also forgot him. Uh, cocktail clay, John with no H Sam green, John M Matthew Fletcher and summer Hansi, man. That list is just growing by the day. I love it. I love to see it at the patron producer tier. Um, you also get to submit a movie for us to review. I believe everyone on there has given us their movie list and, uh, Great picks for the vast majority of all of them.
There's been some really great discussions out of it. And yeah, so shouts out to the Patreon. And after all that being said, now I will go to our first ad break, which you wouldn't be hearing if you're on the Patreon, so go check that out.
All right.
Dillamas, we are back. I'm just going to make a quick little timestamp for myself. Thank you. And now we're going to be getting into some fresh news that came out today I mean it's not really fresh news but there's been some humming and hawing about the just release of Batman 2 because Matt Reeves was going through some personal stuff and then it sounded like it was going to be slowing down and then just today it was announced that with Matt Reeves dealing with a personal matter Steven Soderbergh is coming on to help finish production on Batman 2 part two. Now this does not mean that Matt Reeves has stepped away or anything permanently. Like he is still attached to the project. He even tweeted today
that like, to be clear, like he is still very much a part of the project, which is, you know, great to hear. Obviously we hope all the best wishes for everything and everything works out well for his, uh, just, yeah, his personal matter. Thumbs up from the GV crew. I should go without saying, but, um, yeah, so this is like fresh news. I mean, good thing out of this is, like, okay, the project isn't just dead, like, dead, dead, dead, because Matt Reeves is, uh, taking, um, yeah, just, just, just, just side, going to the side, I, I, I guess, so it's nice that we are still getting this project, it's nice that he is still very much a part of the, um, of the project, and Steven Soderbergh is going to be, you know, And just like Steven Soderbergh,
we got another man coming in at the 11th hour.
I'm just going to add him.
Well, he just adds me. What if I was butt-ass naked in here?
Dylan did it to me earlier. There's a video of you down below.
I saw a butt, and I actually added him.
I'm like, let's get this live. You can't see if I'm butt-ass naked. Does that mean the full body definition? I have a.
Different camera on right now.
I'm looking at my private camera that's underneath the desk. That's for the Patreon Ultra producers.
Uh, they get just a cam of from above, like a bird's eye view wearing absolutely nothing at all. No clothing whatsoever.
All right.
Dylan's right in this situation. So I digress. Yes.
Welcome Travis.
Um, if you missed anything at all, I just basically gave the little snippet. that you read out to me. So I'm glad that you're here to fill myself in a little bit more on the details. I tried to learn more about it than I could, but I'm glad you're here.
Did you try to learn more about it? Or did you just look at the headline?
I learned who Steven Soderbergh was. I was like, okay, I got to at least know something this guy's done, I guess.
What has he done? That Matt Reeves put out there.
Ocean's Eleven. He's done Aaron Brockovich. He's done Black Bag, which was really great last year. He did Presence, which is an interesting film. It's a whole film from the point of view of a ghost. So it's haunting the ghost in its first-person point of view. He's been around since the late or early 90s, I'd say, doing stuff.
He's done oscar winning award films i don't think he's ever won an.
Oscar i don't think so i.
Don't until now until now maybe i don't know it could have been for writing or something but he has a a long list of film and tv backgrounds of stuff that he's oh no he's won an oscar there you go so.
An oscar winner What did he win an Oscar for?
Oh, I forgot. He won Best Director for Traffic, which lots of people say is his best film. I don't know if I agree. Sex, Lies, and Videotape, that's an amazing film. Lots of great stuff. The amply shut down hunt for Ben Solo that him and Adam Driver were trying to do. I know that doesn't count, but they were trying to do it.
What a great project that could have been, though. What a pairing, eh? Him and Adam Driver.
Yeah, and look what we got here. No, no, I think these guys, I just wanted to bust in, because I would have done a TTY and rant for 18 hours about Batman, as I always like to try and do. But I got sick twins. I'm fucking just cooped up here with hand, foot, and mouth. They're cranky. Of course, she's got like a big chin of just rash. But I'll keep this quick so I don't disturb these guys' night. So, yeah, this happened today. First, it came out as a report from Deadline. And then Warner Brothers released a statement. I'm going to assume that Deadline had the clearance. I don't think they just announced it. And then Warner Brothers was like, oh shit, we've got to get this out there. I'm sure they'd just partner with somebody or that'd be really shitty.
Most of the time, someone like Deadline would call and say, hey, we know the story. Should we run it? And they probably went, okay, you're going to run it. Let us do X, Y, and Z. WWE put out a statement. And I'm not going to read the statements because that would take up time and you guys can read them.
They're all out there. And you can check out our Discord because we talk about this all day. But yeah, the idea is that there is apparently it's two... Two-thirds of the way are done shooting, and Steven Soberg is going to be in here taking over directing duties. Now, what's different, and why the sky, I hope, isn't falling, is that, unlike the Zack Snyder situation, when he lost his daughter and WWE pushed him out, that was a situation where they made it look like it was like, oh, we're doing kumbaya, and like, oh, Joss is in here, they're all friendly, and then after the fact, it wasn't. Now, I will preference this with, it's Hollywood, right? Even Matt Reeves' tweet, they could just be like, hey, we're not
giving you any fucking money unless you, like, give this right. There's people all like Ben Affleck is some of this last week and Ray Fisher. They're all like, yeah, we love Joss Whedon's justice league when they're promoting it. And then a couple of years later, it's like, oh yeah, this guy's a piece of shit. And yet, so we really know nothing, but all we know is what they're putting out there. He's going to shoot two to three, not two, two thirds. So the rumors, it's like six weeks that Matt Reese will be like on a zoom or something like that. And then Seamus Oberg is going to finish this. And then the post-production. So the edit, is as far as what WB and Matt Reeves said is going back to him. So the idea is that
should still be his. Steven put out like this nice, you know, statement saying that he wants to keep the vision Matt's and do it that way. And the word is that he approached Matt. I don't know what that means. Obviously, because me and Dylan talked about this, I think it was like a week and a half ago, of course, always.
A few things I've learned since that situation, it's a bad, like, it's not a good situation. So I don't know. I think that's the plan right now for him to do posts and everything. But I don't know how it's going to move going forward because lots of things can change. And like being done said, it doesn't really matter about like the delay. It's just like hopefully his whole family's good and they're dealing with something not great. So it was funny, though, that when because when we don't do that cast and you're like, oh, man, like imagine if they take this break and then when they shoot it, if you're going to tell it's going to be like choppy or there's going to be differences. We hope for the best because they're going to follow storyboards and Matt
Reeves is there. And that's the thing where it's like, oh, it's a good situation that he's there. It's not like with Zach where they just pushed him out, gone. He's going to be there. But now when you brought up that concern, Dylan, I just rang my head the first time because like, you know what? No, it's like a few weeks. It's still going to be Matt Reeves shooting or like a few weeks to months. It'll still be Matt Reeves shooting it. I'm sure it'll be fine. But now it's going to be six weeks of footage of a different guy. And like, no matter what, like taking aside the most important thing with the Reeves family, with the business side of it, It is going to be interesting because no matter what, you can follow storyboards and
have Matt Reeves there, but it's not like... He's still not physically there, right? It's not like you can... I'm sure Dylan could tell me... You know, I've had this situation before. I could tell Kirkland and Taylor to do something, and then the way they do it is completely different, even though I give them X, Y, and Z. Look how Kirkland hosts Weekly Geek, and look how Tara hosts Weekly Geek. Kirkland's like Ron Burgundy, you know? So that's where it's like you never know. So I just found it not funny, but just ironic, Dylan, that you brought that up, but... Yeah, I guess. So I guess it just means that they're either Reeves or the studio is very set on getting this out. So it is a situation that I didn't think was going to happen. But
I also thought that I guess we have the best case scenario because it's someone that's friends with Matt Reeves and he's going to be on set calling the stuff. So at least the thing is, like, I do think it's going to hit that date now. It's just unfortunate if like, OK, first the production was delayed and now he stepped away. And I don't know if the situation is going to get better, even, like I said, the post-edit.
So I don't know what's going to happen there. So Dylan, you already thought it might be kind of Frankenstein when there was maybe some break between shooting. Now you've got a new director that, sure, is going to fall. And I actually don't think he's going to go rogue. I just mean the sense of you're both not the same guys, right?
You're going to do different things for sometimes, right?
Yeah. Yeah, I mean, we'll see. If it's literally the same puzzle and that one puzzle piece is switched, obviously that's a big juicy puzzle piece for a movie like this. But if everything else is the same, like the same cinematographer, same la-di-da, all the people down the line, then in theory, hopefully we just don't see too much of a difference between those sequences that were filmed during that sequence or otherwise.
I'm sure like after the movie comes out, there'll be some crazy YouTube breakdown of like, oh, here's the Steven Soderbergh scenes. This is like the Matt Reeves scene.
Which happened with Justice League. We even talked about that in the review, right? Like what we thought was Snyder and what we thought was Whedon at that time. And you can't help but do that, right? Because if anyone sees something where it's like, and there was times too where it was like, I remember the, it's a joke now, but the line in Justice League, the Kal-El, no. Like everybody was like, well, that's for sure not Zack's cut.
And then when Justice League came out, that was in Zack's cut. So it's like, You can pick this stuff apart, but you never truly know, right? So same thing. I might see something like, oh, that doesn't feel like Matt Reeves. And then a year later, I'm like, oh, that was completely Matt Reeves, right? So it's a weird thing now.
Yeah, I don't know. Maybe this guy also is just an amazing director for Batman. Maybe he'll be better than Matt Reeves. Maybe that will be the best movie. Who knows? We'll see. We'll see what happens. It's hard for me to comment too much on him actually feeling, because you listed off all these movies. I don't think I've seen A single one of this guy's movies. Maybe Ocean's Eleven, I guess, I've seen. But that's maybe it.
Logan, luckily, I thought, did you see Logan Lucky or no?
What movie?
Logan, I screwed up twice. Logan Lucky. Adam Driver, Daniel Craig, yeah, he did that in 2017. I just remember because we talked about that on the pod, and I think we... never reviewed it, but we kind of saw it different times. So you've seen that.
Maybe I've seen a couple of things. Uh, okay. And I, I like those movies, so that's, that's cool. But it's hard for me to know if that'll be, make him a good fit for a really complicated situation like this. Uh, cause that's hard for everybody, not just the directors, but obviously everyone on, on set who's used to working on the Reeves and all that.
Yeah. And it's like a big budget movie too, too, right? It's not like a, like a little indie movie, almost done. I like a little indie movie and everything like that.
No, you're staying here.
Oh, sorry.
I'm podcasting for another three hours. No, um, Uh, no, it's, it's like, it's a big thing to take on, right? It's not like, Hey, you guys are in a room, you're filming some dialogue scenes. Like here's the Batmobile and he'll, here's him fighting like two face and we don't know what's left to shoot. Right. Maybe it is that stuff.
Maybe they just like the one, Hey, we shot all the big stuff we have passing in the roads, running away from police, just going to be him in the courtroom. We can do that. Or if it's, I don't know, but yeah, I forgot to mention what you said Dylan. There was, yeah. Soderbergh is like, he is a really good choice. And again, hope I don't, we don't know what's true. Maybe he knows about this personal situation, did offer it up or I'm not sure if, Warner Brothers was like, Hey, we do have to do something, but we would like you to pick the person. So if there's any friends out there, you'd be good thinking about.
And I do wonder now if he kind of does them a solid, like, it's kind of funny that he was both his like toe dips into big franchise stuff was like, okay, they're making the Kylo Ren movie. And then Disney says, no, you're not doing that. And now it's like, well, he's making his first time ever comic book movie, but it's like shooting just a third of that. Right.
But I do wonder if he does well in this all floats you know kind of nicely to the ground if he kind of has like a like something else at DC right because like at the end of the day the hope is that it turns out well then he does gun DC and Matt Reeves like a huge solid right like obviously he's getting paid and everything but it's a huge solid to come here and if it lands because if it comes in and if it sucks I know people are going to point the finger big up well it's all Matt Reeves right and then if but if it's great they'll be like oh look at this combo and it's happened both ways with just like it sucked but again it's no one talks about this cause it was a good example. Everyone says, Oh, give
creative freedom to the directors. But then everyone, I've said this example many times, loves Rogue One. That's a movie that halfway through they took away from the director, gave the Tony Gilroy and said like, can you like fix this? And then he did. Everyone loves Rogue One or, uh, you know, not everybody, you know, like a lot of people do. Yeah, I know. We, we, we have some different opinions on it here, but that's where it's like, there are countless examples that we probably don't even know of, right?
Of this happening. Obviously this is just a public one cause this movie has been delayed a bunch of times, but, uh, Kirkland, you got any thoughts?
Yeah, I mean, hopefully it is the situation that we started talking about, that it is just a perfect example of it working out, and not just in the sense of, like, maybe he was picked because he's a really good task man. Like, he can just take the task that Matt Reeves has given to him, and he's just going to execute. He's not going to be like, well, okay.
People also say he's not a big evil guy.
See, that's super important, right? Imagine if they're like, Oh, what Matt Reeves said. It's like, oh, you don't worry what Matt Reeves said. Matt Reeves talks to me, and then you talk to me, okay? You don't want one of those two.
That's supposedly what happened to Joss Whedon, because him and Gal Gadot got in fights, because he wanted to do that scene, remember, where the Flash landed on her chest? and she's like I'm not doing this and he said no you're fucking doing this and then they eventually got the stunt double to do it but that was a weird situation too like which I don't think they want but like you said that could easily happen but the word is that he's he's not that at least the reports say that and a lot of insiders say like he's not an ego guy and again he hasn't worked much in big blockbusters so that could help you know but.
Also if he's like, you know, good friends with Matt Reeves and like his closer finger to the pulse, the situation that it's like, I actually want to do this to help out my friend or whatever. So it's like, I hopefully that is the angle that it is at. And, uh, yeah, like I, I do hope this project hits and is amazing. Um, I feel like even if this is like really good, there will still be that discussion of like, well, what would have the full Reeves version would have been right. Like, like without him coming in, but, I don't know. Hopefully it is just like a net positive across the board. Hopefully, you know, obviously all the stuff with Matt Reeves' family or just his situation in general just gets resolved in
all the best ways. Thumbs up there, hopefully.
And yeah.
Yeah.
Only thing I'll address is just this comment and then I'll skip out of here. DWS says, regardless, I do think this will affect Skydance's decision on whether they feel comfortable letting Reeves first continue after this. I said this like before this last delay. I said this now before Soderbergh gone there. don't expect Batman 3. I'm telling everybody, have the mindset that we got Batman 2, and if we get that, we're very lucky to get that. Especially with these rumors that they're casting a Batman to be in Superman, which is in July. That's not that far away.
So I do think they're, and I'm not saying they're going to end it where they're going to kill off Bruce Wayne and end this movie, but I don't think a Part 3 is going to happen, unless it's massive, right? If it makes a bunch of, like, it'll make a bunch of money, but I mean like a massive amount, like a billion dollars, like bigger than the first one, then sure, there's a conversation there, but Also, again, too, we don't know what's going to happen with Reeves. And same thing, it might be to finish this, but if something happens, or maybe even with all this project, he might go, you know what? After all these delays, all this hubbub, I don't really want to do a part three.
You know, leave it where it lies. I know it started as a trilogy, but not everything happens, right? Again, referring back to that situation, Zack Snyder pitched WB on a five-film thing, and they only got to three, you know, and they were happy with it until they weren't. So it doesn't, things change. There's multiple orders now, so.
Was that Rebel Man?
No, no, it was supposed to be the, the two movies, and then, like, a Justice League trilogy. That was supposed to be the idea.
Was there supposed to be, like, more Rebel Moons, though?
Well, yeah, that got taken out, too. Yeah, so it's got a lot of those things, unfortunately, that, like, don't come to pass. But, again, it's new owners, and, you know, you never know what's happened. So, yeah, Matt, he says, we've come a long way from Matt Reeves scrapping the trilogy for catching... Robin's on the Batmobile. Yeah, man, there's a lot of stuff and yeah, maybe one day we'll hear it happens, but yeah, honestly, of course the best is hopefully with the family. That's all that matters. This was a movie, just a movie, whatever. But, um, I thank you guys for letting me on here, ranting.
For a little bit, filling in there. I'll edit this out after. Just have Dylan and I conversation.
How does it feel to be a whaler for 20 minutes? Yeah.
It feels good. It feels good. I can feel the whales in my bloodstream already. I know it's not those type of whales, but that's what I'd like.
This guy doesn't know anything about whale oil.
No.
One day.
I do have a backlog list, and Dishonored is on there, and Deathloop, because Dylan talks so highly of it. And I'm sure.
Amazing.
Amazing.
I can't remember what else.
I can actually lend it to you.
Oh, I don't do physical. No, I don't know what else. Oh, no, it's like Nathan for you. I know Dylan's telling me the truth that I will enjoy and like these games. And eventually I got Nathan for you and I was like, you're absolutely right. So eventually I will be a whaler one day, but today's not that day. I'm just a clown for the podcast. And I'm out of here. Have a good night, guys. Bye, Travis.
Good night.
Oh, fuck off, Taylor.
Oh, no!
And we're back. That was a good time to ad break there. Power outage.
First time ever on the Geekverse podcast, someone came in and just completely shut her down.
Yeah. But, yeah. We're trying to replicate what it's like to be on a Matt Reeves shoot.
Hopefully, it goes better than how that just went.
But, you know, we're back.
I'm getting fucking Discord updates. You know how Discord goes, like, Halloween themed in October?
You can turn it off because I freaking hate that.
Yeah. it's been going off like nonstop in my ear right now and it's driving me crazy.
So I just learned that a little like echoey sound with the pain.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
It's like, it's supposed to be a ghost or something. Yeah, it is. Yeah. You can turn it off. Don't worry.
Yeah. Thank you. I will do that after this.
Um, okay.
So we are back for Marvel zombies.
Um, don't mess. You like Marvel zombies.
Didn't you? I wasn't on those reviews.
Uh, I did.
Unfortunately I watched it after the fact, but I really enjoyed it also. So do you want more? Maybe a special, I feel like we just talked about this actually, the BS meter on if this was going to happen, like a special specifically for Marvel Zombies. Here we are actually now talking about the detail. This is a little part two, I guess. Okay.
Go for it. Okay, perfect. We talked about the rumor.
Now we're actually talking about it.
The details for the Marvel Zombies.
The Winter Soldier, the special. I don't think that's the actual title. It's terrible if that is.
Hopefully not, yeah.
Apparently, Sebastian Stan is returning to voice, which is a big thumbs up for me. Features Frank Castle, Zombie, Natasha Romanoff, and War Machine.
Supposedly, it will tie.
Into episode one of Zombies where Eric Selvig got in touch with the Nova Corps and ended up a zombie in the Quinjet. Yeah, I mean, what is going on tonight?
What is happening today? Are you here to shut down our stream?
Because Travis just did that. I know.
Because I dropped a comment, and then the stream ended. He's like, are we buying the stream? And I'm like, what the heck?
That's weird.
But I just got home, and I was like, look at all these guys doing a GV cast. The calendar says Weekly Geek. This is weird. Yeah.
Are you here to give your thoughts on Batman?
You can join us if you want. I just wanted to hop in here and the stream.
No.
Yeah, hit the X in the top right, not the end screen.
No, no, no.
I'm not crashing too hard or anything. I'll just say, you know, Batman. I like Batman.
That was a good time.
We're talking about Marvel now. Oh, Marvel.
All right. We came a little late.
Have fun.
Have fun.
See you later, boys. Somebody get these beggars out of here. That's all I want to say. Thank gosh. I bet he was really careful to not hit that button.
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, he didn't even leave right away. He just took the headphones off.
You can tell that he was like really slowly moving towards the evening. Yeah, gingerly. I had a near miss once.
I accidentally joined the Marvel Alliance room while they were doing their live stream. I actually almost hit the end stream. That would have been horrendous because I didn't even enter like the actual chat, but.
Yeah.
Breaking the fourth wall over.
Back to the Marvel zombie special, The Winter Soldier.
Yeah.
Are you seeking more zombies content? And do you think a special is a good angle for this? I listed off a couple little details there if you want to chime in.
Yeah.
I think this was discussed on Weekly earlier this week that I was not on. You were not on either, right? That was Taylor Travis joint.
I just feel like I did talk about this a couple weeks ago.
I just thought I saw something about there being like three... specials confirmed or something like that. So I'm guessing this is like one of those three or maybe there's just one that's announced for now and then the other ones will follow.
I'm going to find that episode.
We'll figure that out at some point. But yeah, for what we got here, I mean, you know, The Winter Soldier is one of the finest movies in the MCU. So, heck, calling something also The Winter Soldier and, you know, that lineage, it's probably... That bodes well. It's a good sign. Sebastian Stan coming back doesn't really... do much for me honestly i think the i think the sound likes do a good enough job and it's fine for me in the animated realm but it is cool i'm kind of surprised because i feel like he is just all over the map right now in terms of he's like in all these big movies he's like i feel like he's winning awards and doing tv doing movies doing all sorts of stuff so i'm kind of surprised that he would like
come do this voice but i guess you know this this role is really important to him um so that's cool it's coming back for that I think maybe the biggest, most exciting thing for me here is Frank Castle is in this. And I've loved in this last couple of years how we're really getting a whole lot of Frank Castle, right?
The return of him. And now he's kind of been everywhere. He's been in the TV realm. He's been in movie realm. And then this is the debut in animated, right? He hasn't actually popped into any of these animated things previous to this. Like a What If? I don't think has never had Punisher in there, right?
No.
No, this would be first.
Yeah.
He hasn't been in zombies to this point. So I'm into it. I think this is really cool. And I guess if it is like a Sebastian Stan, or I guess rather a Winter Soldier, Frank Castle, those are like your main two. And then we're dealing with like other antagonists. I don't know if they're the main two. I'm just kind of basing off the notes we have here. I feel like that's a cool duo. And I like, they both have a ton of trauma. They both have done a lot of terrible things in their lives, whether there was a mind control or otherwise. So I don't know.
I feel like that could be like actually a really fun combination. Uh, so I'm, I'm quite down for this. I could just already picture a scene of those two, like tearing it up and destroying a whole bunch of zombies all at once. So, uh, yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm pretty, I'm pretty intrigued by this for sure.
It seems like a great roster for the, the Marvel zombie setting. Um, like especially I feel like Frank, I never really like thought of him needing to be in, like, the what-ifs or, like, anything up until now. But, like, Marvel Zombies, it's like, man, yeah, hell yeah. If I'm playing the Marvel Zombies video game, I'm picking Frank Castle because that sounds amazing. I sometimes question the level of brute force nature that he brings to, like, everyday criminals, you know, street criminals, low-level criminals. But, like, zombies, yeah, go hard. Just murder all of them. um and like bucky i feel like i like peak bucky winter soldier like like is that is that accurate to say or hmm like the character obviously goes through i think.
That's yeah i think that's that's fair yeah yeah.
For like the actual winter soldier side like the badass yes badass character like i mean the whole.
Thing is i think after that he kind of takes a back seat in anything that he's in right Shoveling logs, right? I guess the show. Falcon Winter Soldier.
That's true. That's true.
But I'll go Winter Soldier Captain America.
Yeah. Yeah. And I want to see that type of character again. I think Marvel Zombies is a perfect setting for that. I like the idea of it being a special also. Just focus it all in. Start to finish with a, I don't know, what? 45-minute... hour long range like 50 minutes probably i think that's awesome and uh all the other details in there i don't know like the nova core stuff um i thought that was i thought that was kind of a fun thing they did in in the show there so i'm okay with it being here natasha um she's been obviously gone for obvious reasons in the live action uh for as as of late but I'm always down to get a Black Widow returning here. So yeah, I think all of this detail is really amazing.
And I had to check.
I'm sorry, Dylan. I got you confused. It was me and Taylor that covered that weekly geek when we were just talking about the rumor of this happening. So that's where I was having deja vu because it was just two weeks ago. Okay. The weeks are blending together.
Got it.
But yeah, no, I think this is exciting. I want it. And hopefully get some more details like release and all that.
Yeah. Anything else on the Marvel zombie stuff? No, I mean, I honestly don't really remember the episode one details of like the Eric Selvig thing. So I'll obviously have to rewatch that before, uh, before kind of sliding into this, if, if this does happen, but, uh, yeah, I'm sure there's something more I could break down there, but it's just been a minute since I've watched that.
Yeah, me too. Also, like I, I remember the Nova Corps, like, surrounding the planet and they were, like, talking about having the cure and then they didn't. They were just gonna, you know, blockade the whole planet. That's, like, what I remember from that detail, but this makes me potentially want to re-watch it, but, I mean, I'm still behind on the shows that I have to watch to begin with.
I still gotta watch Vision Quest, actually. Were you on that review? I wasn't able to make it.
No, I mean, honestly, since they added the doublers, like, the two episodes back-to-back, I just, I don't think it fits my schedule, so I don't know if I can really be on the reviews for the show, unfortunately. I was kind of down to jump in, but The Doublers, my new work schedule, I don't think it's happening for me.
Totally fair. I'm going to have to catch up later. The Doublers are pretty savage. Yeah, they're like full hours, too. Like, come on, what are you doing here?
Yeah, exactly. I'm excited to see Robert California, though, in there as Ultron, James Spader.
Is he in there? Cool, nice. Yeah. He's Ultron, right? I guess Travis did tell me that detail. I think that Ultron was in there, but yeah. I didn't really know too much about that show.
Oh, okay.
Well, now you know that.
Now I know.
And we're going to keep on the Marvel train because that's what we're talking about. And we're going to go into our BS meter. Our previous topic started as a Marvel BS meter. And here we are weeks later talking about the specific details, the confirmed details.
Look at this.
Will more of these Marvel BS meter topics show up on there? Tune in to a future episode and you might find out. I'll just start at the top. and work our way down. If you're unfamiliar with this, we talk about some rumors centered around Marvel.
I pitched to Dylan. He rates it BS meter-wise.
Throws it back to me.
There you go. I don't think I've ever actually detailed what this is. It kind of speaks for itself. It kind of speaks for.
Itself, I guess.
First one on the topic, or on the docket. The topic docket.
I was wondering if you're going to highlight my verbal slip up there. Sentry will have his own series or special. He will discover why this happened to him. Sorry, I read that like he's going to be discovering why this happened to him, like why he got his own series or why he got his own special. That's like a She-Hulk. Yeah, breaking the fourth wall. He's going to meet Kevin again.
Okay, sorry.
He will discover why this happened to him and the organization behind him. So, of course, tying into his ability.
There with the Void.
Um, shout out to Marvel snap. Cause that's the only reason why I even know that that was a, a link between century and the right. Um, well before Thunderbolts came out, but, uh, yeah.
What do you think about this? Do you like character, Bob? Do you want this? I like the character. I liked, uh, the bolts. It's a fun movie. Uh, do I want this though? Yeah. I think I'm fine with getting a Bolts 2 with him in there on the team, kind of fully promoted, and we get to learn more about him that way. I don't know if I'd want a sequel movie to center on the backstory of what led him to getting to that point. I don't know if I want the second Thunderbolts to be a prequel to find out why. More origin story for this character. I think for that very same reason, I really wouldn't want any of this, but I don't know, maybe... In the comics, it's an extremely interesting storyline, and so maybe there is
something to dig into there, I'm sure. And a movie, obviously, is only going to really cover so much when it's already introducing and doing so many other things at the same time. I think in terms of the BS meter of this, I'm going to go very low chance. I just don't think, again, with how Thunderbolts was kind of like a moderate success, like did all right, I just don't see them, like I would think like a Yelena show or a special, something they'd greenlight, not necessarily a century one. So I'm going to go very low. I'm going to go 3.4% that this is happening. And honestly, my want for it is I'd put it the same percentage.
I don't really care much for this concept, to be honest. I could definitely be sold on it. But from the information and the place I stand currently, I don't think this is something I would want to be diving into so that's where i'm at how about how about you are you a higher interest level or a percentage chance of it actually happening.
Um i think i'm a higher percent chance on it happening um like not much but higher than three percent i i think because i i think there is some content you can definitely put on screen or special or some shape or form around just that idea of how he I don't know, met the void and how it came into being. But I think just like realistically, like if they're trying to get projects that can like return on investment, you know, they get their money back, they get people to go see it. Like, is that the sell?
Like a Bob prequel? I don't think so really. And like, do you need like that amount of time for that explanation? I feel you could have it in like a five minute, exposition dump or something with some cgi that goes through him meeting the void and and and that's fine i guess that didn't happen in thunderbolts so maybe that's the angle that it might be coming from this this rumor of uh you know well we can put on disney plus or something or we can do something else um giving that origin but i feel like i would be one of those few people that would like oh yeah i'm actually going to check that out but just that being said like i I don't think that's a sell for general audience members. I don't think he's an interesting
enough character off the hop out of Thunderbolts. I don't think he's the one takeaway out of Thunderbolts that maybe people that aren't diehard Marvel fans are like, man, I really need more of that guy's content. I thought how he was done in Thunderbolts was really good. I like the unknown nature I think of like what that void was in him I thought that was like a fun thing to have in the or it wasn't fun it was kind of terrifying actually but just like if you if you did the explanation in that movie like does it take away like the fear factor of like not knowing what that thing is who knows but yeah I yeah I I think I'm gonna go like 15% in that range for it happening still still low but like
you know significantly it's like five times more than what your percentage was so It's all relative, but yeah, I'll leave it there. I don't really think it's going to happen. Honestly, I'd be surprised if it was announced. And if it is announced, my next thing would be like, man, how is this going to do numbers-wise? And just all the green lighting that it had to have gone through, they really thought this was going to be the return investment thing?
I don't believe so.
There you go.
That's the first one. Let's keep ripping through these. So the next one is reportedly... laura donnelly's elsa bloodstone is being considered for an appearance in ghost rider spicy it is spicy.
Spicy i mean where else would a character like elsa bloodstone go if not for a project like Ghost Rider? So I hope this exists. I think Elsa is a very cool character, and we only got just kind of a glimmer of, I think, some of the fun potential of that character in Werewolf by Night when we got that show, which was, oh, my God, what was that, three, four years ago now? That was forever ago. Was it a special? Was it a show? I can't remember. It was a special. It was a special. Yeah. So even then, that's pretty short and sweet for what it was. I had to re-watch it. I was like, Halloween season. I feel like it'd be a good time for me to put that on again. But yeah, I feel like we only got to dig so much into the character. Sorry,
say that again? Four years ago. 2022. Four years ago now. That's insane behavior to drop that kind of bomb on me, Kirk. Sorry about that. But yeah, I definitely want this character to come back because I think... Ghost Rider is going to be, I think a pretty bombastic high budget sort of movie or like higher budget than a, than a special on Disney plus would have, would have been granted.
So I, I feel like also like that, that could just be like a whole new level of the character. And I don't know, I think story-wise, it could be interesting how that ties in. Cause, cause that show where we'll, or again, the special werewolf by night, like took place not in modern time, right? Like in the MCU, modern time and like Ghost Rider is, Presumably would, but I don't know. We can always do weird dimensional stuff with characters like that anyway. I'm sure they'll figure it out and it won't feel that weird or they honestly might even not mention her backstory at all. Here's just this character and deal with it and I will deal with it and I'll be happy with it. I'm going to go in terms of what I want, what I want
this 100%. I'm going clean hundo on that. Likelihood, I'll say lower than that, but I still think there's a good chance that this could happen. So I'm going to go I'm going to go a solid 67. Just for you, Kirkland. 67% chance. 67% chance that this is happening. Because I do think there is still quite a lot of room for this to just not be a thing at all.
And it's just like an easy rumor for a low-level scooper to chuck out there. And maybe it sticks. Maybe it doesn't. And I mean, even this BS meter, this character is being considered. for an appearance of Ghost Rider. It's not saying she's in Ghost Rider. Is she being considered? I feel like, actually, if we look at it that way, I'd probably go over a higher percent chance.
Yeah.
And I guess my percentage chance is for, like, the character actually making it into the movie at all.
Yeah.
No, I think I'm right there along with you. My want's definitely 100%. It feels like a fun pairing to that type of character, mixing with a character like Ghost Rider, just thematically, it fits. There's, like, certain characters that I just feel like Halloween-y And those are two characters that in my mind are Halloween-y. And yeah, get them in the Ghost Rider appearance. So this would be.
Mr.
Ryan's Ghost Rider, right?
I would imagine. I believe that is the only one that we know of.
Not Cosby Ghost Rider or anything like that?
No, okay. No Frank. No, we have enough Frank Castle in other places.
Yeah, I mean, I agree with all your points there. I. I think I'm still going to side on the positive side of it is happening. I'm going to just cement that into the universe because I'm just going to try to manifest this happening. I really liked Elsa Bloodstone from Ultimate Alliance, from what else would I have played?
Just sit card in Marvel Snap as well. Marvel Snap? That's right.
I forgot she was in there. And just like aesthetically, like a vampire hunter with the name Elsa Bloodstone. It just sounds like such a cool character.
So cool.
So yeah, I definitely want more content with that character. And hell yeah, like let's totally get her in there. Fuck it. I'm going to go 6.7 right there with you. 6.7 percentage on this happening.
A couple of weeks.
I really hope that I'm confirming this.
Like this just in, Elsa Bloodstone.
A part of Ghost Rider. That would be amazing. Yeah, that'd be sweet. I also want to re-watch Werewolf Planet because I've only seen it the one time. And around the Halloween time, watching black and white, like, fuck yeah. Yeah. Creature flick.
Have you been like.
Like, it's already the 15th of October today. Have you been, like, in the Halloween mood? Have you been watching scary stuff or anything like that?
Oh, man. I mean, I did. I guess we already did what we've been watching, but, like... I think I told you that I saw Obsession, right? That was on an episode with you?
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, you and me, yeah.
Have I seen anything else? No, I mean, I told you I want to start Soma. That's maybe a goal for this month, but we're already, like, halfway through October, and... You know, I've been playing... I just played it through Star Fox Adventures, you know? Not a very Halloween-inspired game, so... No, I've not got very too much into the spooky, scary stuff yet this year. So, that's too bad. Nor have I.
Nor have I. Alright, moving on over to the next one. Gwenpool will make a cameo appearance in Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse. What do you think?
What do you think is happening? Gwenpool. I'm trying to think, like, in the other Spider-Verses, other than all the myriad spider characters. Was there any other, like, cameos from, like, other Marvel, like, non-spider people? I can't really recall.
Like, not villains, right? Like, not, like, a specific villain or anything? Like, just, like, another hero?
Is that kind of... Like, yeah, like, a Steve Rogers never, like, pops in there, right? Like, I can't think of... I don't think so. I can't think of a single one.
I feel like there might be, like, certain imagery. Like, maybe there's, like, a shield or something. Not necessarily Cap's shield, but, like, Captain America shield at some point. I feel like that has to have happened, but it's also like a Sony project, not like an MCU project. So like, I don't think so. I, I, I don't think so.
Yeah. I, I think for the, uh, my personal interest in this, eh, like I, I guess it could be fun, but at the end of the day, like it is stating that it's like a cameo. So it's not like it'd be a meaty thing. Now talking to me about like being like a co-starring role, maybe then I could get excited or not excited, but, uh, It's hard for me to feel one way or the other about, like, potentially a cameo. And I didn't really like the second one that much, so I don't know if I'm, like, I'm not even, like, super stoked about this third one.
I'll go see it, of course. Likelihood, though, I feel like, yeah, sure, why not? I don't see why there's any reason why not. It seems like a good place for a kind of wacky Deadpool variant, Spider-Gwen variant. It seems like a cool, smart, interesting, fun place to do this kind of thing. So I'll go 50-50 for the BS meter of it all.
Nice. I was just doing a little Google on Gwenpool, and the first thing I saw was Gwenpool is not a version or variant of Deadpool. Apparently her last name is just Poole, and that is why she's called that.
But she kind of is like Fourth Wally and stuff, right?
Yeah, like her character origin, she's like a regular person that's transported to the Marvel Universe, so it feels like a Deadpool character, because he talks to the reader, I think.
Multiple times. But it is Gwen Stacy, right?
Yeah. Well, Gwen pool is her name. Gwendolyn pool.
Oh, maybe she's like, those are her favorite characters. So she's like, I'm going to be a hybrid of these two characters. Maybe.
Yeah. I don't know. Maybe I should have done a little, maybe I'm completely wrong too. And this little article I'm reading is, let us know in the chat. If anyone knows, definitely let us know. I'm clearly out of my element right now. Not a popular character to me. Um, I mean, I thought it was a Gwen Stacy Deadpool variant, so if that's not the case, I feel like I'm even less interested in just the idea of a random person going to the Marvel Universe. Her name's Gwyneth Poole, and she just happens to look like Gwen, well, I guess Ghost Spider, if you want to call her that name.
We have Gwen Stacy in Spider-Verse already. She's an integral character, so I don't really need a variant of that. maybe quick cameo, you know, as, as the, the title suggests for this, um, BS meter topic. Like that might be funny if she like finds Gwen pool and there's like, you know, two of them or something like just doing the old Spider-Man thing or whatnot. I feel like you could get like a comedic something out of that, but I don't, I don't need her in the crew. So I, I think a quick cameo, I don't really need or like oppose that. I'm just incredibly neutral on, on that subject. And, In terms of it actually being in there, I think it could go either way, but I'll side on the more thumbs down. So I'll go 44% of it happening.
It's still kind of close to 50, but yeah, a little bit lower on that one.
I don't know. It's a measured response. I like that.
Thank you. I'm trying to be more scientific now that I'm in my 30s, you know, to really try and analyze things before I say them.
But like, yeah, like, do we need a character like this?
No. But like, are there... Do they maybe want to just introduce another Deadpool like fourth wall breaking character that could just be wacky and new but like is also maybe more on like the Spider-Verse side so we don't really have to disturb Deadpool. We can have our own kind of version of that. Who knows?
It's a good place for it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Cool look too.
I do like the colors. What's your hype level for that movie generally speaking? Spider-Verse?
Yeah.
I think I'm more hyped for it than Doomsday, honestly. I'm fucking hyped for the next Spider-Verse movie. Yeah. I'm not going to lie. Okay. Maybe it's just because I know Doomsday is around the corner, but I don't feel like the butterflies in my tummy when I think about that project right now. But Spider-Verse? specifically, yeah, butterflies. Just picture what it's going to look like, what the soundtrack is going to be like.
Oh, that's coming out pretty soon too. Okay. Yeah.
And I also loved the second movie. I still like the first movie. a little bit more, but in my mind, I still think both those movies are 10 out of 10s. They're just fun watches for myself.
Awesome.
I love the new elements that they introduce in the second movie and just thinking about that even more so on the third. I do think it's possible it could be my least favorite out of the three when that third one comes out. I could see myself liking that one the least, but still, I'm just so overjoyed with what they're able to make. It's just so great I live in this era that those projects were made and it's just Yeah. First Spider-Verse movie. One of my favorite movies of all time.
Look at that.
It's right there with me. I almost forgot it's right there. And there's actually another one right here off camera. I'm not going to show it to you right now. I'll have to take your word for it. Like right there. Can you see it?
I see the poster. You're pointing the poster.
I know. I'm not trying to be like this. I'm trying to be like in that direction. It's behind the webcam.
Oh, I see what you're doing. It's a terrible joke.
I know. It was horrible. I'm so sorry about that. Let's go to an ad break right now just to save myself from that embarrassment. All right, we're back. I'm sorry for running you astray there, Dylan. We're going to keep going down our list of BS Meter topics. Sorry, closed my note there.
After Secret Wars, there will be a Doctor Doom movie. Discuss. Oh, God.
It's like a statement more than anything.
That's a bombshell of the sentence a drop on someone personally i don't know if you realize what you've done to me would you like me to reword it a little bit maybe maybe have.
A little bit more of a warming you up before i just drop the bomb right in your lap.
Um i i i don't need you to but now i kind of know i want to know how you'd butter up the question so yeah i'll say yes and i'll take dylan musk are you excited for uh doomsday I'm more excited for Doomsday than I am for Spider-Man being on the Spider-Verse. You know what? That's fair.
And 99% of the population are probably with you there. But you know the main character, Dr. Doom.
I've heard of him. Played by Robert Downey Jr., right? Right.
Yes, that's right. He used to play Iron Man. Now he's back.
Oh, yeah, he did. I forgot about that.
Potentially be playing a new character here. Maybe he's a variant of Tony Stark.
Who knows?
We'll have to watch the movie to find out.
What do you think.
Would be, oh my God, I already fucked that up. What about the possibility of a solo project with this character? And do you think it's bold for it to come after a movie where he's supposed to be the main villain?
Yeah. I mean, my first instinct when I saw this note earlier today was, okay, are they trying to veer in the direction of a Loki angle where Loki enters the MCU as a villain? He's the primary villain of an Avengers movie. but over time he becomes kind of an anti-hero and then he becomes a hero. And of course all this terrible stuff he did and all the people he killed, like all that still exists, but you know, he's a character that can be redeemed, but he also kind of goes on his own path, right? Like he goes and eventually gets his own solo TV show, two seasons of a TV show, no less, which is more than any other Marvel character can say in the MCU, other than like the animated crowd.
Right.
So yeah, I mean, maybe that's what they're trying to do here. is uh open up open up the door I don't know if I'm surprised or not surprised like Robert Downey Jr. I thought maybe come back to do a little bit of villain action then he goes back to do some other stuff in Hollywood maybe he's kind of moved on from the MCU but at the same time god damn these movies make him bank and so he's just like along for the ride again and just you know 1,000 generations of his family tree will be, you know, satiated now because of him appearing in, like, two or three more movies. Like, yeah, I feel like this is a great career decision to go for, even if, you know, you're maybe hot off Oppenheimer and wanted to
go down some, like, Oscar path. So, I don't know. There's a lot of surprising things about this because, like, I didn't really expect that Doctor Doom would be a character that would exist past then. And I don't really see a path for this where they make a solo movie where he is the villain and just going around like killing a bunch of people and stealing a bunch of babies and stuff like that. So I have to imagine it would be them, uh, going down the kind of Loki route. And I think when you got someone like Robert Downey and a character like Dr. Doom, I think it makes sense to go, uh, the movie pathway instead of the TV show pathway, especially we've seen with Disney plus and like the profitability of some of these
shows is maybe not it. So maybe rather than the Loki path of going to TV show, we go along with a movie and, uh, So, honestly, I think I see it. Like, we've had this before. I think Scarlet Witch is probably going to have a similar thing, too, where the last time we saw her, she was certainly a villain. Maybe she's already been in these episodes of Vision Quest. I have no idea. I don't think so. But, you know, I'm sure she'll have that growth arc, too, where she was a villain. I mean, she's hero, then villain, presumably back to hero at some point, which is always a fun realm to deal with. And so, yeah, I guess at this point, there's precedent for this, possibly, just with the Loki stuff in particular. Um, so I could
see it. Uh, what is my percent chance though? I think I'm just, it's going to, it's kind of a boring answer. I'm going to go 50 50 just cause I could really see it either way. I'm like, I did not expect this, but now that you've propositioned it in front of me, you buttered it up for me, Kirkland. Like I could, I could definitely see it happening. Uh, I, I, I, again, if MCU is trying to chase those money bags right now, I feel like this is a great way to do it. So, uh, Yeah, I could see it. Interest level, it's hard for me to say until I kind of get my eyes on Doomsday and Secret Wars. Because I also don't know how much Doom is going to be in Secret Wars or if it's going to be a different villain. I have
no freaking clue what's going to be going on there. So hard for me to judge my actual hype level for it until I get some of these projects. But I know when we originally got the announcement for Robert Downey as Doom, I was pretty against it. I didn't like the idea of them recasting him. but it's just been so long now of me having that information that I'm just like kind of used to it now. And so it doesn't really bother him anymore. So I guess I'm, and he is great. And I love the art of him as a character. So it's like, yeah, yeah, I guess I'm, I guess I'm okay with this too. Um, maybe not my most hype thing, but like, yeah, I'd be down for, for this, uh, project as well. So I just spewed a lot at you, but I don't
know where, where are you at compared to me? Uh, I think I'm right there with you.
I think I have enough interest in the character alone and like trust, uh, maybe it's risky to do that, but I feel like I trust them to do the character well. Like, I'd be very surprised if I come out of Doomsday and, like, man, Doom is such a joke of a character. Like, I don't think that is going to be the possible... I don't think it's going to be possible. But that would be very sad if I do come out of Doomsday, and that is what I'm thinking, just because he is such an iconic villain.
He got Downey back, first Avengers project in, like, forever since Endgame, so, like, a lot riding on it, and I... I don't think I'm going to be coming out of... Sorry, I don't think I'm going in there with the expectations that it has to be better than Endgame or Infinity War or any of that. I just hope that I got those holy shit moments in the theater and really engaged in the project. And Doom obviously is a big part of that because he is the main bad of this movie. He's got to have some fucking gravitas to him.
I would say that's bare minimum. He's got to have some gravitas. And man, that trailer... When he's rising up with the Sentinels. That is aura right there.
He's aura farming.
And I'm excited for it.
So yeah. All that being said.
I am expecting to really like the character.
And... I.
Still don't think I necessarily need a solo Doom project. And.
I don't... I don't know. I'm kind of conflicted on that.
Just... I think.
thinking about secret wars i do think he is going to be like a pretty big piece of that movie um but like so like what do you do with the soul project is like his origin is it like him discovering uh latveria or something like like i guess there is many different realms you can go to it or sorry go with it but it's tough for me to like pinpoint exactly where it would be. So I would need to see more details, I guess. And I think you would get some of those breadcrumbs out of doomsday. Uh, cause like, he's not dying in this project. It's not like, this is gonna be the last time we see this character, but like, it's also a character I could see, like you brought up the, the Loki, um, example. Like I
could see it going that way. Maybe like, maybe down the line, you get like a whole series about, about the character. Um, And I imagine, like I said, I am expecting to really attach on to the character. Just because I already know about Doom. I already know that he is a very important character for many different characters in the universe. But I still don't know a lot about him. So there's still a lot for me to discover there. So my want....
Not like.
I don't know.
Right now, it's not super high. That could easily jump in many different directions. I'll go like 50... I don't know. I'll do like 55%, I think, on this one. I'll go a little bit over the hump of it happening. Just because I think he... is going to be widely received well. But I could also be in a completely different ballpark. And maybe some people are going to be like, well, he's not Thanos, so he's trash. I could see that happening.
I could see people comparing this Avengers movie to the previous ones. I think it's just a natural thing people would do. But I don't know. Hopefully it's, it's unique and different enough that we aren't really, uh, thinking about that comparison. Yeah.
All set.
All right.
Thank you. Um, all right.
I think I had one more on here. Yeah. So we got, how do I butter this one up?
Um, Spider-Man.
Spider-Man.
I don't know where I was going to go with that one.
I'm familiar with the concept. Yeah.
Yeah.
Do you know Johnny Storm also? Jonathan Storm. I've heard of him.
Some call him the Human Torch. In a great video game back in the day, Spider-Man Infinite, there was many races that you did around the city, and they were always against Johnny Storm.
That's cool.
I'm pretty sure even the PS1 Spider-Man, you do interact with Johnny Storm. As a kid who didn't really know much about Fantastic Four, Uh, I always wondered about what that tie is between Johnny and Spider-Man. And apparently there's some stories between the two of them. Apparently there's some story with the whole Fantastic Four and Spidey. Is that gripping to you at all? Is that like, man, I like Fantastic Four. Maybe you don't like Fantastic Four at all.
Obviously we watched the movie and there's some good times to be had in there. But, uh, I know you like Spidey at least. What do you think about the two of them maybe blending together? And, uh, What is it? The next Fantastic Four movie will feature Spider-Man.
There you go. That was a horrible, horrible version of buttering that up.
I'm sorry.
You know, there was some butter. There was some salt. There was some paprika. I feel like you just put a few different things in there. Some paprika. Is that how you say it? Is that how you're supposed to say it? No, I just like to say things like kind of weird ways.
I appreciate that. I have many different ways of saying random things.
You say paprika. Paprika. Paprika. Yeah. I say paprika sometimes, you know.
Paprika.
Just a fun word. No matter which way you say it, it's good.
How do you say edamame beans?
Edamame.
I say edamimi beans.
Edamimi?
Just to add some fun to my day.
You just kind of squish all the syllables together a little bit.
Yeah.
Absolutely. I do that a lot. You kind of squish the edamame to pop the beans in. It's kind of like.
That. It's exactly what I do. Oh, you're on to me. You're on to me. Um.
Well, yeah, what would happen if you squished Spider-Man and Fantastic Four together? I think you'd get pretty interesting movies. I think it's one of the early Fantastic Four or, like, Spider-Man appearances is, like, those characters crossing over. So there's a long history of this. I know there's, like, a very old comic book cover of Spider-Man there with the Fantastic Four, and it's cool to look back on that and see that connection. And you just brought up that.
I didn't know that, but that's really cool, and I think that makes a lot of sense. Like, the personality type, of Human Torch and Spidey kind of go hand in hand. I could see those two instantly being friends and I feel like there's a lot of fun dynamics to be had there. So I think that there's a lot of potential for this and I think it would be fun and I'd be down to see it. I do think though when it comes to the BS meter of it all that this has a pretty low likelihood of happening.
I think that one there's always weird stuff with the rights when it comes to Spider-Man and just general stuff. Obviously, we see Spider-Man pop in Avengers movies. But I don't know if a deal would be stricken in which Spider-Man would appear in a Fantastic Four movie. And that's specifically how this rumor is laid out. Not that the Fantastic Four would make an appearance in his movie. I feel like Spider-Man's got enough going on. He's kind of in his own separate realm right now. I feel like the Fantastic Four kind of have enough going on. So as much as fun... as I think it would be. I just don't really see this happening. I feel like Spider-Man, you know, he'll get his solo movies, which are, you know,
kind of top priority, especially after Brand New Day was as huge as it was. And, you know, I think he'll appear in the Avengers things. You know, he did appear in Captain America Civil War, which is not an Avengers movie, but it kind of is at the same time. So there is precedent. It could happen. It could occur.
But I. I just don't think it will. Call it a gut feeling. I just don't see this happening. And I feel like Spider-Man's not a character either that's really going to cameo in a movie like this. He's not going to pop in for one scene because the rights, again. If MCU Marvel had full rights to Spider-Man, I'm sure they would make this happen. But they don't, right? They have limited usage of this character. And we don't even... We're not privy to all that information. But I don't think that they're going to, you know, move... What is that saying?
Move land and sky? What is that saying? Move land and... What is it? Move earth and sky? What's that saying?
That sounds like I've heard that before. But it doesn't sound right the way you're saying it.
It does not, right? Move... Move mountains. Move land. What is that? The saying.
Give a fish man... For life.
Move earth and sky. Move heaven and earth. Move heaven and earth. Okay, yes. Does that sound right? That still doesn't sound right. That sounds right. Okay. It's not anything you.
Would ever say, I don't think, but I appreciate you diversifying your book out.
I don't usually reference heaven. I don't think they're going to move heaven and earth to get Spider-Man in one of their Fantastic Four movies. I think that would be huge box office-wise for them. I think it would pay off in a big way, but I just don't think that's really what their goal is for either of those, uh, characters.
And especially cause like, yeah, I found this for like, I'm sure a lot of that's planned out in the works and I'm sure that like shifts around a lot in terms of what they're doing with production and Spider-Man. It's always seems like it kind of comes together last minute where the rights happen and then they kind of green light it and they put the pedal to the metal and try to get it out as quick as possible in a good way. They make it quality of course. Uh, but yeah, it seems like kind of a different production schedule.
So I don't know.
I don't, I don't see it's happening. So I'm going to go, uh, I don't know, 15% chance? Like, there is definitely, again, character-wise, it's a match made in heaven and earth, but I just don't think that they're actually going to make it happen, so I'm going to stick with 15% chance likelihood. What I wanted, though, that's quite high.
I don't know, 90, I'll say. I really want it.
Oh, yeah.
That'd be really cool, yeah. Yeah, I'm right there with you.
I think this is, like, just something that's because especially like with Spidey and, um, uh, Johnny storm, but even just like all, all the, the cast there, I feel like for a long time, people have been like pitching that idea. So like, if I see this on like a rumor list, it's like, Oh yeah. Okay. Same old, same old, like, like nothing out of the ordinary there.
It's like, it's like wanting Deadpool and Spider-Man together. Like, yeah, obviously, obviously I want that. Obviously I'm not alone in wanting that, but like, uh, realistically is that going to happen? so yeah my want would be like the 99th percentile like very very high up um like i feel like it's a very low chance of it happening but because brand new day was just like so massive biggest movie ever and like I feel like that isn't anything to scoff about in the sense of, hey, we should probably squeeze this lemon, even if it is very complicated to work with Sony and get the rights to do a collab movie with the MCU. I feel like when you're talking about the amount of money that that made, maybe that
is something that they're going to work a little bit harder. You never know how this Doomsday stuff is going to go. I'm in the camp. I think it's going to be pretty successful, but who knows if it's not. what do you do to kind of correct the ship? I, I feel like a play like that is, is a big play and something that would really like, I, I think that would sell well, like just, just the fact that you get Tom Holland back, like, like the whole setup of just knowing that the guy from brand new day is going to be.
A part of, of this.
Um, I think even if people didn't like see fantastic four, I think they look at those actors and the, and yeah, I've seen that guy in, in a stranger things, you know, I've seen Vanessa Kirby and a couple of things here and there, Pedro, obviously.
I've seen that pile of rocks on the side of the ground. I was going to say with Ben Grimm, yeah, I've heard that voice on the bear.
But yeah, maybe that is something that there's something there. So I don't think I'm going to put it too high, even all that being said, but I think there's a little bit of an ember there. It's a little bit of warmth, nothing to really... get a flame going, but there's some warmth there.
It's not quite a flame on, but it's close to a flame on. Yeah. It's pre-flame. Pre-flame, we'll call it. He's pre-flaming.
I'll go like 15% chance of it happening, I think. Nice. Yeah, that's where I'm there, but do I want it to happen? Absolutely. This would be so fun, especially Tom Holland and Joseph Quinn. That's really fun. I think those two characters are very, or sorry, those actors are both very charismatic. um the whole cast too if it has four i think they would uh riff well with um with the holland.
Would you rather get a spider-man movie where the fantastic four pop in for a sequence or a fantastic four movie where spider-man pops in for a sequence.
I would do fantastic four with spidey in there.
I think I would too.
I think it's just too much to cram like a gang of characters in like a cameo slot. I feel like it might be like they were also not all there on the same shooting day or something so it might like look really weird too like the actual execution of it but yeah just getting like one actor to come into their project seems a little bit easier and Yeah, I think I just like it more personally.
Yeah, I agree. I agree.
Nice.
All right.
