Well, let us move on to our next talking point here. We're going to the world of Star Wars in a galaxy far, far away. And we're starting with Star Wars Strader. Now this reportedly... This is brutal when I saw this because this was right after I saw the budget for Narnia, the magician's nephew. So the current budget for Star Wars Starfighter is reportedly... 226 million. Holy fuck.

It's a big number.

It's a big number, but I mean, it's star Wars. So I can, I can see the justification in that, but what do you feel? How do you feel about that?

I think they're setting the bar pretty high for, uh, you know, for what they have to make in order for it to be a success. I think they're putting a lot of eggs in a basket and, uh, If it doesn't work out, man, I mean, coming off of Mando into this, like, that's... What do you even do? That's... That's not even just red flags. That is, like, man, we are fucked. The engine blew. We are absolutely fucked, but.

I'm definitely more.

Okay. Just to cut you off, Mando Grogu made... That budget was $ 165 million. Yeah. So.

And we all know how bad that did. That's... Wow, I didn't really think of that. I thought the two budgets were going to be pretty similar. That's... Yeah.

I'm optimistic for the project. I think there hasn't been anything that's really given me a warning sign for that one. I think I'll at least enjoy it enough. I would be pretty surprised if I don't. And obviously, I'm going to see it. They have my money, but a general audience... roped in for that like i i don't know i haven't there's been next to no marketing for this project even though the the budget is so high it seems like a losing strategy to me i don't know i'm kind of i'm kind of concerned for uh for how it's going to do for for like lucasfilm and disney side of it i obviously don't have too much skin in the game i don't know these characters or whatnot if it is absolutely terrible i'll probably just forget about

it and move on with my life but uh This could have some definite consequences for just Star Wars films coming out. If it doesn't make money with how much it costs.

Well, that's true. I think it's funny how Disney's just like, oh, you know what? That man on Grogu put $ 160 million in there, and it sucked at the box office, so let's fucking add another $ 60 million into the Starfighters budget.

Yeah, she's at least $ 60 million. Yeah, that's right. Which it's quite, it's funny. I think we've, I'm sure other people have made this connection, but she obviously is with Ryan Gosling. So it kind of makes sense that she gets her foot in the door, you know, with, with star Wars, because he's probably just like, come on, come join me on set. So he's also ghostwriter and she was the, the, the, the love interest in the Nick Cage ghostwriter. So it's all just, it's full circle. I definitely went through a crush phase with Evan Mendez back in the day. Just those too fast, too furious. Fantastic.

And she was great in The Other Guys. She was really fucking funny in that movie. Oh, yeah. So this is great. I'm pretty hyped on her appearing in here, even though it is another recognizable face that you have to try and distinguish as being... How do you pull... this person away from our world and look at them as being in the star Wars universe. And maybe it's just a lot of makeup, a lot of alien, uh, aesthetics.

I don't know, but, uh, I think that she'll definitely bring a pretty good, uh, component to the film in whatever regard that is. It could be even like a, just a small cameo that Ryan Gosling just wanted to get her in on for all we know. So hopefully people aren't getting too riled up over this. Cause I think it will be pretty, pretty simple. Um, now moving on from Star Wars Starfighter we got some episode 10 topics here to break down so one of the casting rumors is that John Watt's Star Wars movie will feature two protagonists and Rey will be their mentor now they're looking for a male and female actors in their early to mid 20s and it's possible that their aim is just to find unknowns again we're just talking about big

names but they don't want to go about that this time around their dynamic is very much going to be like that Ray Finn archetype, but with a more clearly defined romantic component. It feels like the, the, I mean, Finn and Ray, I don't feel like it was really romantic. It was more platonic. It was Kylo Ren and Ray felt a lot more romantic, but they didn't really capitalize on it. It was just, no awkward tension with a kiss at the end and that's that's it so it sounds like they're maybe they want to double down on it this time around.

Uh yeah i i mean i feel like star wars in general is pretty like subdued in that nature uh we don't really ever do those types of stories um i'm down yeah i i think it's something different and and new and with something definitely that we need more of in the star wars it's just new and not repeating regurgitating what we've done in the past and hopefully benefiting off of it, like, financially, I, I like to go in the direction of, of trying new stuff, but, yeah, I don't know, I, I, I'm very, I want to say I'm, like, in the middle on Star Wars right now, but, like, it's tough to say that I'm, like, I don't know, anything less than uninterested right now, like, like, there's nothing that, that,

that's really getting me excited, uh, I am somewhat excited for Starfighter, just because it's been a long time coming, and like talking about who's in that project and what not and from what we did see in that one trailer which I mean if I'm not mistaken is that not even out to the public like there's no trailer for that so crazy.

Yeah and why did it leak again what was that event it was like D23.

That yeah whatever the hell it was I mean that movie's coming out springtime right It is, yeah, spring next year. We're looking at May 28th.

What are they doing, man? Why are there not trailers out for this?

You've got to have a trailer ahead of Doomsday, I feel. That would be the best place to put that.

I hope it does. I... episode 10 just has a nice ring to it. And that gets me super jazzed. I think that there's the inconsistencies in the, uh, just the tribulations that that sequel trilogy had. I think episode 10 is a great way to kind of clean that slate. And I just think it's funny how, you know, the original trilogy, you have it, it's great. People love it.

Then you get the prequel trilogy, people shit on it. And then you get the sequel trilogy. And by the time we get the sequel trilogy, well, everyone's propping up the original trilogy, revenge of the Sith, uh, re-release in theaters for the anniversary, uh, made so much fucking money people were showing up for that uh and i just think that okay that's that's what we need here we get that next trilogy for episode 10 11 12 and then that sequel trilogy is gonna shoot right back up everyone's gonna love it it's gonna be great i know for me in retrospect phantom menace has become one of my more like definitely favorite ones i really really really do enjoy that movie quite a bit um i feel like it just ages well with like fine wine but

uh the episode 10, I, I think that this is a cool concept. If they do indulge in this guy and this girl being, uh, apprentices to Ray and you have Daisy Ridley back in there and that seat, that's great. I just want there to be more than just the two of them. Give me a whole group of Jedi and don't just reset and be like, Oh yeah, the apprentices, they took off. Uh, you know, it was Snoke all along and now Ray's all alone. It's like, are you fucking kidding me? Just, Give me a whole bunch of Jedi.

And I stand by the fact that that's what's gonna sell tickets for Starfighter, is you're gonna have that lightsaber battle going on, you're gonna have lightsabers, and Star Wars episode 10 just needs to have a lot of lightsabers, you just really gotta give people more of that, that Star Wars feeling and energy, heck, if you do a scene in there too, where you show me a goth turn on, like, two double bladed red lightsabers and then have like five Sith Lords behind her. Holy shit. Like that's like, that's, that's going to sell tickets for sure.

I would never take another Star Wars movie for the rest of my life if I could do that. For multiple shows. Not just one good show, but if I could just get a lot of that, I would absolutely make that deal.

What is your idea for an Andor quality show? What would you want to see? What is your narrative?

We're going Old Republic, Taylor. We're going fucking Darth Bane. We're doing that. That is exactly what we're doing. And it's probably going to be just like Andor, where it's critically amazing, but nobody watches it for whatever reason. But who knows? Legends has its fans. I know that we're not going to be doing Legends Tales, but just that type of story. Yeah, get me away from the Skywalker franchise.

I'm trying to think of, like, what's in, like, the new Disney canon stuff that could be enticing for me. Like, you would know more of that. Like, is there good High Republic stuff that we'd want to dive into for TV shows?

I think there is. The stuff with the High Hill is pretty juicy, I have to say.

I mean, especially when you have, like, what is it called? They've got their Starlight Beacon, which is this outpost in the Outer Rim, and it's like a Jedi temple. It's this massive station, and it just gets fucking annihilated.

Yeah, tons of Jedi die, and the Nihil set up this energy barrier that basically shuts off half the galaxy from Coruscant and everything else. You can't get through. If you try to go through this barrier, your ships explode, but the Nihil can open it up wherever they want. Yeah, it's just crazy stuff. There you go.

That could be cool.

And then beyond that, like, I just need more Sith content. I got betrayed from Acolyte. What that show could have been. What I thought it was going to be. There was glimpses, but ended up not loving it so much. And then I was just dead. Plagueis was in there. I think some actually early Palpatine stuff could be really cool. Like the Plagueis book? Yeah, when he's like a politician and like, man, that could be fucking juicy.

I would endorse that for sure. Yeah. Did you see, you know that game, the online game, The Old Republic?

Oh, yeah. Coolest cinematics in the fucking game. Or sorry, in the world. I remember like seeing it. I'm like, man, what the fuck is this Star Wars game? This is blowing my mind. I found it as an MMO. I'm like, oh, that's just like the biggest letdown ever. I'm sure it's none of its canon or anything, but there are some crazy stories that were told just through the cinematics of the brothers. I remember that cinematic of one was the dark side user and one was the light side user, I think. Yeah, really cool cinematics. But I don't play MMOs, so not for me.

The kicker with that, just when you say like Sith and stuff like that, I just remember that one cinematic where like the Jedi temple and all the Jedi are in Coruscant and whatnot. And then that shuttle crash lands in the Jedi temple and the door opens up and it's pitch black. And you remember this one? I think so.

And you see like 30 or 40 red lightsabers ignite. Oh man.

Oh my fucking God.

And the whole Jedi temple is just under siege by a Sith army. Oh yeah. It's just free fucking money, man. Like just do it. Yeah.

No, we're going to do $ 265 million for a movie that we're not even going to release a trailer for because we don't want it to do well at all for some reason. Like, what the fuck are we doing, Disney?
