Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome back to the Vision Quest Review Series, Episode 3 and 4. I'm the Here We Go Again, Travis Snell. I'm joined by.

I'm the Synthozoid, Taylor Field.

Yes, and as usual, with the TV show's reviews, once we're past Episode 1, or I guess last week's Episode 1 and 2, but once we're past the first review episode, it's all spoilers from here on out. So if you've not seen this episode, or 4, obviously... Come back later. It'll be way in there, in your podcast feeds, on Patreon, wherever you listen. So, yeah, we'll get right into it. Taylor, what did you think of this episode? And, again, obviously, your overall. I don't need every point right now, but just your overall.

I'll do every point.

But you can do spoilers, so.

Yeah, these were a lot of fun. And I'm not going to lie. I've been kind of highly anticipating this throughout the week because after the– the hype that the first episode has built for me, I was, I was juicing. I was really getting eager to get into the next two episodes here and they didn't disappoint. I had a lot of fun with them. Um, I wasn't expecting a little bit of, uh, what would you call it? Um, uh, God, what would be the term?

Um, You'd have to throw me out a couple examples so I could guess it.

I feel like they're just kind of making the Paladin like an anti-hero. Not an anti-hero, but they're just like, you know, here's the story, you know. And it's like, that's maybe not necessarily what I needed, but, you know, we're getting it. But they introduced a couple other things in here, too, that's like, okay, this is cool. And it got to be, like, horror-y. horror vibes almost. And I was like, this feels like good Halloween-ish kind of thing going on here. I'm really enjoying this. And I had Satine watching with me and Madison was just like, okay, we should probably stop here because it's getting kind of, uh, kind of freaky. So I paused it and Satine's like, like, I'll hide the pillow in front of, I'll hide behind

the pillow. It's okay. So I put the pillow in front of her and I hit play and she's moving the pillow trying to watch his buddies getting his fucking skull analyzed and stuff. But, um, yeah, no, I think, uh, so the, Episode three and four, both were, no, they were pretty cool. I enjoyed them and I liked getting a little bit more fleshed out dynamic between Tommy and Snow Vision too, I think. Well, I'll save that for when we got to break it down. But I mean, with Jarvis down, I thought that we're going to kind of see like one by one, the other AIs kind of fall. But before we get to like the big thing with Ultron, I was like, okay, we're already there.

a lot faster than I thought we were going to get. So I guess, yeah, that is what it is. But that was cool. Lots of really, really cool shots and stuff in here. So I'm pretty hyped on these.

Yeah, and as usual, we're going to talk about these episodes together. We might go in order for some stuff, but we're not going to go point A to point B here because we're just scatterbrained, and that's what we do. So, yeah, I think I'm exactly where I was last week where– I'm enjoying the show. There's some aspects I'm enjoying quite a bit, but I'm still not completely hooked. I'm hooked on certain elements, but I think it's just as a whole, it's like, okay, this is good, but it hasn't... There's some things that are happening now already that I'm a little worried about. Now, usually, I would say, well, you gotta let it play out, see everything. This is our first rodeo with Marvel shows, right? And the Disney Plus era.

And there's just a couple lines in here about, oh, Synth wants to take over the world. I'm like, man... I don't need this again on Disney Plus. I don't need another world potential ending thing and the Avengers, like Ultron's back in this episode. Are the Avengers or Sam Wilson or New Thunderbolts, whatever, like, are they going to even clock that? Like, I guarantee you, I'm sure, oh, well, not everybody saw it and they'll cover up. Yeah, I guess.

But I mean, like, still, this massive threat in Age of Ultron is back. They literally have characters that say, I'm Ultron or that's Ultron and they have iconography of Ultron all over. So I just feel like that's the only thing when we get into this scenario and there's also another moment where it's like oh you know uh they i think they did this with a few people but the our main i'd say like uh person person we were trying is a wreck.

I feel you i feel you yeah um.

Our main kind of mcguffin in episode four they did the mysterio thing where it's like oh this person's actually kind of been here all along and they were part of uh sokovia and ultron's like No, they weren't. They tried a backdoor like, oh yeah, Stark was working with her and bought her AI and everything. It's like, okay.

So I guess for me, it's interesting because I'm enjoying the new threat in a bubble as far as the performance. I like this actress. She was from Bly Manor and a couple other things, but I like this actress. I like the idea of, okay, that would make sense of another Ultron in our history, in the Marvel history. People create things and if it goes wrong, it's like, well, it's not, oh, we shouldn't create that. It's like, well, how can we do it better this time, right? And that's where, I don't know, obviously we're going to find out what happens with Dr., what was her name? Was it Jocasta? Where's Jocasta?

Jocasta, yeah, because I was thinking, oh, Jocasta knew.

Yeah, no, I think I accidentally called the actress that. But yeah, so that character, I want to see that revealed because we'll get to it. There's specific things about that. But when they're talking about her potentially taking over the world, I need to see what the plan is and where we're going. If it is something like, oh, she's planning to spread throughout and take over AI, take over the world, it's like, alright, again, I just don't need that for this plot thread when it's like, ah, a couple weeks from now we're going to have Doctor Doom also trying to take over the world or end the universe or whatnot.

So again, I prefer the Disney Plus things when they're smaller, and I, again, this is where I, this is a perfect selling point of where I am with the show. Very much like that Ultron got out at the end of this episode, and I think there's lots of potential. I thought how we got there was super easy. Very, like, Vision just like, I don't know, got bullied a little bit.

He's like, i guess i better just let you have the keys it's like what like i don't know and i know people might think oh well he's a newer vision he's been back there watching all this footage yet and that's the other thing too where a classic mcu thing where i was uh enjoying a lot of the more serious tones i said last week where with paladin that felt a little goofy i didn't really enjoy um goofy vision in episode three when he was glitching out i i I would have just take the straight, like he's slowly dying and he's a bit more serious than maybe just thinking about what he's going to do with a Tommy here. I didn't love the whole, you know, the, Oh my boy, don't call me that. Like I just, that's not what I think. Like I just, so that,

that's the thing where I think all the issues that I have, you know, like I love the MCU, but the things that I have issues with in the MCU, when they go too much, the world ending, the over abundance of comedy, I think these two episodes kind of had that. So they kind of overshadowed some of the good stuff for me. So, um yeah that's my overalls right i still think if you're enjoying the show i don't think there was anything in here that was like a massive leap down i think most people that watch the show because who knows what the viewership is but i think most people watch the show don't really care if it's a world betting event they're just happy to get another mcu project right so whatever the world's back

and say because well it's comics it happens all the time yeah but comics and tv and movies differ medium right so that's where i was enjoyed the episode but did have some like bigger cons nothing that would get into like a like secret invasion level anything like that like I'm not trying to rain down horror it's just that I think the cons are a bit harder than me or bigger than the highs for me there's some decent stuff in these episodes but I don't have the super highs I think the one you pointed out the kind of Jakasa taking over the more horror elements that was really good and I actually think Vision and Tommy the back and forth there was good not when he was goofy but the back and forth and I guess

we could start there of obviously they're together the road tripping and I still really like this actor as Tommy, I think he's got good comedic timing, I think he's got, like, a good kind of low-key charisma, where he's not, like, just walks the room and takes it over, but he has, like, a charming aspect to him, and there's multiple things happening, but Vision's trying to figure out, okay, how am I gonna, what am I gonna tell this kid, like, I have no idea, and he, and that's the thing, Vision doesn't really know, right, like, he has an idea of what's going on, and he, because last week when he was like, oh, how could Tommy be alive, and Ultron's like, hey, this world has a lot of crazy shit in it, like,

easily he could be alive, right, so I loved all the scenarios he was playing out and everyone left with him leaving. I like just trying to go back and forth. I love him hiding the fifth AI and Tommy catching that when vision just mentioned, Oh, and there's the five of us and he clocks that right away. Um, so yeah, I, everything with vision and Tommy, I, uh, really enjoyed how you feel about Tommy, uh, for two more episodes in now.

Again, he's just fantastic. I think he, uh, him getting that moment where he has to resurrect, uh, vision. I really liked that cause he just kind of embraces his power. Well, it's definitely a little bit rushed. Yeah, it baptized him. Like, Vision was having, like, the wettest of dreams in that pool.

Like, holy shit. The power rushing, for sure. He, like, barely controls, and Vision's going to trust him, like, bring him back. You know, like, what if he just couldn't do it? And then Vision's dead. So I agree with you. That was, like, it's fine. But it was... This is very, very... I'd rather him just have control of his powers, then, and be like, hey, the... the jumping point is he's never done something like this big before. Right. But he just couldn't even like deal with a vendor machine a couple of minutes ago. You know?

Well, that's right. Yeah. But, um, I would have liked like a little bit more like communication between the two and more dialogue, but like vision just kept, you know, throwing the, like, what was he saying? Like, we're kind of, uh, we need to rest, you know, where we're, we're not there and whatnot. And then he was running the simulations, which I kind of liked. I thought that was a lot of fun. Um, but, Yeah, I'm excited for when we get that conversation with them. And even more so, I'm excited because I'm kind of just telling myself we're going to get Billy and Tommy together. And you're going to have a conversation with both of them.

In the series?

In the series, yeah. I want Billy to come in and have that conversation with Tommy and Vision.

Yeah, because we didn't talk about last week. People caught that Billy's already in the episodes right that he's is that for sure him I think so unless I'm being fooled by AI but I'm gonna trust Chris Balga because when I was would talk to him last Chris too yeah he said that you can see him so unless Chris also got fooled by AI but I don't I don't think so I think he's there and again he's just in the background and I guess he's just I guess he's watching I guess my only thing is if that is Billy what's he waiting for Like, his dad's getting, like, shot to hell by adamantium bullets. He could die. Like, why is he not, like, jumping in right now to help, you know? Maybe, I don't know.

Is it one of those things where you just need the character to, like, you need them to hit that certain bit of enlightenment or just go on this journey? You can't interrupt them?

I don't know. Billy's got magic.

So, I mean, maybe he sees something we don't that he has to adhere to.

The only other thing I would accept is maybe is he, like, astral projecting himself and he's not actually there. Like Luke Skywalker last Jedi, he's there, but he's not physically there, so he can't help out. He can just watch.

Yeah. He likes to watch. Unless it's not him, it's just someone that looks like him, has similar hair, because all we've seen is just him from the back.

Or more. We're getting another X-Men.

Well, speaking of X-Men, I mean, just to talk about Jocasta, man, when Paladin is in the fucking... top suites the the top of the skyscraper here uh and then you see uh jacasta walks in there doing the mind fuck uh jacasta's just rocking that jean gray brand new day outfit i'm just looking at him like are they trying to like insinuate that maybe this could be like uh you know jean gray at first just to fuck with you because they're doing like the head thing in the mind right and just thinking like Maybe they're just trying to play with you.

Jean Grey in Vision Quest is like, how much money do they give Sadie Singh to get in there? Yeah, no, the hood's going to be the new thing, just like in the Infinity Saga.

How it was the baseball cap.

Yeah, the hood's going to be the new thing. Yeah, so, yeah, Vision, he's dying, he's freaking out. And again, that's where it's like, some of the humor in Vision's mind works when it's all the AI freaking out, some of it doesn't. And none of it's like, Like, Street Fighter bad? I'll say that. But it's just like, okay, I just don't, like, laugh at this. And then there's something like, okay, that's kind of fun and clever. You know, Ultron, we'll talk more about him. He continues to be a delight. James Sparrow, both, like, comedically and dramatically. He's fantastic. Want to watch some porn?

What does he say?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We should rent a porn. He throws it at us. That's a humor I'm finding. I just didn't like. I guess if I watch this and I was like, man, Paul Bettany is just a masterclass of physical comedy. I'd be like, I get why they're doing this, but I don't... I guess for me, it's like, yeah, Paul Bettany's good at this, but I'm not like, man, he's Charlie Chaplin, man.

He's just killing me right now. It's like, okay, he's doing all right.

Did you laugh when he was like... He kind of reboots or whatever, and he's like, I'm so happy, sad, I'm so angry. He starts emotionally freaking out. Nope.

I guess I just don't know why. I know people are going to say, oh, because he's been alive for a while. He's had all this knowledge and stuff. But I just feel like he would just boot back up as vision. That stuff could happen. But other visions weren't doing that. I know it's a new vision. Again, there's always a– that's.

Why I– And it doesn't have an Infinity Stone either. That's the other hang-up here too, right?

Yeah, I guess, because they did say that, like, helped him form, but he said he still kept some of that power, right? For me, it's a con, and it's not even a critique, it's a con more so of, I get why people might say, oh, there's this, this, and this, why it happens. I just don't enjoy it. It's just, like, I'm not saying, like, story-wise, like, I get, again, I don't, they've never showed us this before, but new things can happen. It's a new model, so, okay, cool, but for me, I just don't like Paul Bettany being goofy.

It's the same way if people have a big problem with Thor or Bruce, like, I feel like the same people that hate Professor Hulk, I don't hate Goofy Vision, but I'm on that line where I don't need to see Goofy Vision again. This was good enough. And I just feel like even the way he's just acting with Tommy, sometimes he feels just... Even Vision we got in WandaVision and in, I'd say, Infinity War, he felt more human, but he still felt always there was that line of the synthezoid there. This feels like he's just... It's more Paul Bettany than it is... vision in my opinion again they might say he's evolving but I guess then I would say I just don't prefer that vision the same way people don't like Depressed Thor don't like Professor Hulk

which I didn't mind those versions and again luckily he was kind of gone here but so you got that yeah he brought him back and then where did they go I guess we could talk about Jocasta how are you feeling obviously not Jean Grey but how are you feeling about this whole setup where she's killing these scientists a part of AI she was you know a second I guess creation or attempt at Ultron and And then she also revealed that, you know, Vision says, oh, Vision Ultron's like, oh, well, it's whoever you're based on. And she's like, no, I'm not based on. I am her.

You know, so how do you feel about that? I guess there's maybe some humans put them their whole, you know, personality or being into this robot, whether I don't know if it was by choice or not. But, yeah, how do you feel about Jocasta so far?

Someone's getting smacked over there.

Oh, my goodness. Oh, I'll mute. Sorry. No, it's okay. I personally tuned out, Emily, but I forgot you guys had, so I'll do that.

It's all good.

I can't dog on her too much because she's making a really good stew right now, so you just got to deal with it, okay?

Oh, yeah. It's that type of... It's the weather for stews. Madison made a stew today, too. It's a turkey stew.

The turkey stew. Is that going to be a soup or a stew, Emily? Oh, she doesn't know. She has her headphones on right now because she got new headphones. She's listening to audiobooks. This is actually great.

Are you yanking my chain? Cause it's the same shit Madison does. She has her headphones on and she just makes the noise.

No, this is new, but, um, continue.

Um, Jocasta reminds me of a species, uh, funny enough, just like the way she looks. Um, and, uh, yeah, it's, there's some freaky and creepy about it, but it's, it's pretty cool. It's pretty cool. And I think that, um, Yeah, she's got her own set of motives, right? She wants to kill these scientists and whatnot. And I like how she's upset at the fact that Ultron kind of takes away the pleasure of it, I guess. Or just kind of ruins the experience for her, right? When she wants to kill that one scientist.

Yeah, we'll get there. Subverts her expectations.

Yeah, she takes it away.

For some reason, this is where this happens in the Disney Plus shows all the time. Well, I'll get you in the future. Like, why? Where's she going? Why is she flying away? What's she doing? Why isn't she fighting them? Like, honestly, she doesn't know what Ultraman is going to do, but she, like, easily dispatched a vision, which I guess we can, like, tie this all together, where this is what happens. Like, she's going to kill a scientist. Vision interjects. They fight.

And Vision, like, very, like, I wouldn't say he easily got beat it wasn't like a Thanos Hulk situation right like they went in there and they were going back and forth and it just felt like Jocasto hit like a couple combos on him and he's like oh I'm not built for this like I can't.

Do this but he is weak right.

No I don't think so in episode 4 I feel like he's back to all power go because when they really yeah when they.

Baptized him yeah but he said that you know his systems are down he can't phase he can't do all of his other stuff right.

I guess then I just don't buy. So then how does Ultron using the same system? Why would he be more stronger?

Well, that's the weird thing because half of these episodes, their language is like, you know what? Oh, we just got to like shut down and restart his microprocessors, divert power from the flux capacitor. I mean, they're just speaking weird language tech stuff that just doesn't make sense. But, you know, Ultron, the whole time he's just kind of, he sits in the back seat and I feel like, okay, he's got, the, the, like the, a better kind of like knowledge of like where to pull power from and what to do and how to like be maximize his efforts.

Whereas the other AIs are like, okay, we're going to do this, but we need to all be alive and be a part of this at the same time.

I don't know.

And maybe because he shuts them down and he puts them all into a box, maybe that means it gives him more power to do other things instead of letting them kind of run around and have more free reign. I don't know.

Do we get to visually see that power though?

That's just me headcanoning it right now.

No, I'm just saying, though, because Jakar's just flew away. So it's just like, what? Like, I wish he, like, then, even then, I would have probably had a problem with him. Like, okay, how is, if it's the same unit, because it doesn't matter. If Taylor, what's the best example of something we could be using here? What's something that we could both use that would have the same amount of stuff?

Both use the same amount of stuff?

Oh, I guess it doesn't matter. Look at this. When we're filming, if I check the battery of a camera, and it's 40%, and I give it to Taylor, and he turns it on, it would just still say 40%. Now, this is where, like, Taylor would say, because it's all trotting, I have this in the back of his head. Okay, then why don't you have Jocasta take a shot at him, and he does something where it is like, oh, fuck, like, Vision wasn't doing that. Like, just something, I wanted to buy why she would just fly away, and that's where it just was... Like, why does this, and they might explain this in another episode, so I'll wait, but in the moment, I'm like, okay, why if this unit is semi-defective, if Ultron, as of right now, he's just taking control, right?

If it's defective, why is he more powerful? And two, why is Jakasa still not striking, doing anything? So that's why I think they just could have had her try something on Ultron, and not saying the scientist is a shield. Vision could have fucking done that. That was just like a mental thing, right? Because alternate is like oh well you know your son's here and you're not thinking straight i can do this so it's like okay fine i'll let you make your point but i had another issue with.

The scene as well too i would counter and say okay you got your camera and the camera's got you know a one gigabyte hard drive space and you filled up almost the whole gig, and then you give it to me, and then with the same camera, I delete the full gigabyte of hard space. Now I've got more storage, more room to work with, take more pictures and stuff.

Okay. I could be on board with that. Then I still wish that Jocasta just did something to show that, right? Yes. What does she know? She just said, like, oh, you're the same, but you're very different. It just felt like a very budgetary thing. Like, well, we can't have another robot fight here, and we need this to go on for another eight episodes. Robot sex scene. Yeah, that might be cheaper, but we need this going for eight episodes.

So Jocasta is going to fly away and we'll pick up with later. Cause I'm sure there'll be something aware. She's going, just remind me of that. Remind me of secret invasion where the villain would just like disappear at times. Like why, why are you going? What are you doing? Like there's objectives here to do, but that's fine. And that's where I, I guess it's just, so here's the thing.

I think the scene by itself, if what we're talking about, if you're saying that ultra or vision might still be defective, then okay. He might die. I think just the direction of the scene, didn't put Vision, and I don't think Paul Bettany either, would put in enough peril for me to believe that he'd give up the keys. I feel like in episode three, he felt more of a risk of dying and being damaged than in episode four here.

He's just sitting there a little out of breath, and like, I guess I get it. I really don't know what's going to happen. We'll have to see, but it's just like, I wonder, like, Vision does all these equations and everything, and does he really feel that Jocasta's person he just met, or met in could get more info on versus Ultron who he knows what could do is less of a threat like I just it just felt way too easy to hand up the keys I wish he was literally on death's door like she had a like her fucking claw wrapped around his throat he's bugging out he's like they're like oh we could do we got seconds left and we're gonna die like I wish it was something like that where he's just sitting there like yeah I

guess I'll let you have it I just felt for it was different if we didn't have age of Ultron we know what threat Ultron was he was literally going to extinct the entire human race. He took a part of earth and was going to slam it into each other and make it like dinosaurs. So I just felt like huge risks to give this guy the keys for, to me, they didn't write or direct the situation well enough for me to believe that you have to, you have to give this over, you know?

I agree. And I think this is just kind of the, them emphasizing the fallout of Jarvis not being around because Jarvis is the big, the big factor in keeping Ultron at bay, right? Like Jarvis was the main security as they read her, like, Not Friday.

Was it Edith or Friday? It was Friday.

Yeah, it was Friday. So she was reiterating with Edith about how she did all the security stuff and whatnot. But Jarvis was like the original security protocols. He wrote the book on it and everything like that. And so when you see Jarvis in those first two episodes too, he's very much just always looking down at Ultron, like keep him contained kind of a thing. And so without him, I think, okay, now you're just... Vision is still... Like, yes, he has the memories and he can see all these things, but, like, he sees the love, but we also see him trying to understand it, right? And he says he's understanding and he knows it now, but, like, he still... He sees these things, but he doesn't understand everything. And so with Ultron,

I think that's the case, and that's why he's got the AIs reinforcing that. That's the whole narrative. But without Jarvis, there's no one to really reinforce that. Like, hey, don't let Ultron get the keys.

Yeah.

Right? So... Yeah, I can be with you a little bit there. I'm stretching it, though. I know I'm headcanoning.

Yeah, no, and that's where, like, I guess it's, here's the thing. I think there's shows like A Secret Invasion where there's things that happen and you go, oh, there's literally no reason for this happening. It doesn't make sense. I think in this show so far for some of these bigger events, there is reasons you can say for why it happened and why it didn't happen, but they just feel a little loose and it feels like we're adding a lot in. We don't know. And that's the thing that the show can get better later on if it adds more of this, gives more depth. And I hope, especially next week, that should be the thing, right? That should be more about why Ultron's so powerful in there, why Vision gave it up. I don't know. And I

do really love the aspect of Tommy and Ultron having an episode together because we go, oh boy, we have lots to catch up on. I'm like, oh yeah, this is great. Obviously, Tommy's not going to heel turn and go with Ultron and take over the world. No, but I think there's tons of stuff there because he is like his pseudo-grandfather in a way, too. So, no, again, there's things I like where we're heading, just how we get there. A little bumpy, and I just wish it was, to me, if I thought, I actually never thought Ultron was going to take over Vision's body. I thought it was always going to be him in there, and then maybe they battle within the contracts, or it's like at the very end. So the idea of Ultron getting out

a little bit, I'm like, oh, I love that. I just wish it was Like, this character's been locked up since 2015. This should feel like a huge moment of Ultron getting out. And it just feels like kind of a cliff note. But it is cool. We'll see what happens. I like the mix-up of Paul Bettany and Ultron's voice as well.

That was cool.

Yeah, so we'll see what happens in the next few weeks or so. But let's take an ad break, and we'll be right back. And we are back. Shout-out to our Patreon producers, April Darkness, Jack Grant, Thank you all for supporting us on that highest level, getting every single episode we do. Also, we're coming near the end of the year, but there is over 60 exclusive episodes on there.

From tier 2 to 4, you can get different episodes. Producer tier, you get every single one. And you got a bunch. We were busy, and we're a little busy right now preparing for Extra Life, but Next month, you're going to be getting lots of bread and butters. We're, I think, a month or two behind, but you're going to be getting a Dylan and Kirkland one. Yeah, you're going to be getting a Dylan and Kirkland one. You're going to be getting a Dylan and Taylor one. You're going to be getting a Kirkland and me one. There's going to be a four-person one. So there's about three or four bread and butters still for the end of the year. We'll catch up. So tons of stuff going on there. That's our topic show. This weekend, if you

want to call in, we're going to talk about a bunch of stuff. We'll talk about clay face we'll talk about halloween we'll talk about maybe the show uh after nine is happening sunday at 6 p.m pst that is our call-in show where if you're a patron on the phase two tier up you get to call in and talk to us about whatever you want and it's always one of my favorite episodes of the month we just have a good time catching up and shooting the shit and uh very fun laid-back show i'm good to see what everyone's up and i feel like it's been a while a long stretch i'm excited to see what people been talking about for movies um and then other than that november 7th which we're gonna I've been busy because the Twins are still home with me right now. Hopefully

tomorrow's the last day. They're almost over this. But soon, lots of announcements are going to be happening for Extra Life. I'm trying to think if there's anything I'm going to tease right now. But we have Extra Life. We're trying to raise $ 1, 000 towards the BC Children's Hospital. We have a bunch of events. We've got the Trivia Battle happening.

We have the Gauntlet happening, which is our tournament with us four. And some other people are Esports League, which is going to be good. Dylan trying to be the first other person to win a tournament two years in a row. We're not letting that happen. The whole four is not letting that happen. We've extended a hand for Kirkland to have a truce. Can't let this happen. Maybe on After Dine, I'll give Kirkland a heads up. He has to decide about if he's going to accept your Call of Duty challenge. Taylor did lay... Oh, right. Yeah, he's never officially done that. Taylor did lay down the challenge because they had an epic series in Call of Duty.

And there are actually two apiece. So this would be the tiebreaker. So we'll see. Is there anything... I don't want to announce that segment until I got to hit up God Loves Me 69 to see something. Let's see here.

All right.

We got, you know, because there's some fighting going on. I'll put this in there. And we put it at a low tier because we didn't get to do it. Also, what we do is for the tiers, obviously, all the donations go towards BC Children's Hospital. I don't have the shirt right now. You can also buy shirts. You can check out our social media or hit us up. We have a Grand Theft Auto themed one and a Resident Evil themed Extra Life GV shirt. And we have a every single shirt that we've ever done from the past years because it's our 10th Extra Life on there. So check those out all again. The proceeds go to Extra Life.

What was I going to say there? Oh, and then what we do throughout the night is when we get certain amounts like $ 100, $ 200, etc., we do unlocks, whether that's for that night or things down the line. Like Taylor, he's going to shave his mustache in some funny ways. I'm going to shave my hair in some funny ways.

We could do that. The other one we're going to be doing is at $ 200. Mike requested this, and I think it's a good one because other people asked about it after the fact If we hit $ 200, which is a nice low goal because we promised it for GV Day. We didn't hit it. We will record and do the Geek Versus from GV Day that we put off to the side because a lot of them are current. And yeah, we just didn't get time because GV Day is just so busy. So we can't do it on the day of Extra Life because especially with the tournament, we never know how long that goes and when people show up because people got live. So we appreciate them coming and giving their spare time, but we never know how that works out. So at $ 200, we will do the Geek

Versus episode, which is a fun, episode where we just have fictional characters fight each other and we debate about it so you got that you got some more announcements coming up tear where should we go next on this episode let's.

Go to paladin let's get into.

That oh do we gotta go to paladin yeah what do you got what do.

You got i i again he's he's not a true paladin right like he's not by blood a true paladin we learned that his dad you know you're weak just like your your mother another thing to say to your kid And then he gets his head fucking blown off inside the cab of his truck, and then Paladin walks in, recruits this kid, and trains him. It was very much like a Peter Quill kind of reminiscent, I'd say. And then, yeah, he's just, he's given this, he's given all these scenes where he's just, yeah, he's doing it, you know, my oath is my blood, my life, whatever, and then you also get this underlining vibe that he just doesn't want to do this, he wants to make, you know, the paladins proud, but he wants to be a good paladin

for good or something like that, I just feel like, I mean, they haven't explicitly said that, but there's just Yeah. They want to make him like the antihero, make him good. And I feel like he's, yeah, I'm not, I don't know. I don't know where I, where I stand on it.

I know where I stand with it. To me, it's an anchor of the show. I don't think this actor is like awful again. I just thought this week was almost less bad because I feel like episode one and two last week were more serious. So when he was a bit more goofy, that stood out. These episodes were a bit more comedic, so it didn't stand out as much.

I just don't, Like you were saying, what they were presenting of, oh, he's a torn guy and he had a bad upbringing. It's like, all right, I don't need this. And in this show, because I already think sometimes all the AIs, I think it's fun to have them there. But I don't think I need them to have as much screen time as they do. I'm very happy with Vision, Ultron, and Tommy getting most of the screen time and then now Jocasta. Those are the four. That's the core four that I'd be worried about. The other AIs, I think they could pop in and out. I don't need them as much. And then the other one is Paladin, which I don't need as well either. I think he served his role, but again, I don't buy him as this

scary force. And then already, I just feel like it's super early for Episode 3 to already be like, yeah, I need a traumatic childhood. It's like, I guess. I don't give a shit about Paladin right now. I think it's a mix of direction, performance, and just the writing of this character. We have so much stuff going on.

I don't need to spend time with this bounty hunter who tried to kill vision and his kid and like, why he's not such a bad guy. And now he's going to like, what he lost a contract. And he's like, I'll still do for free. Like he's going to do something to prove something. It's like, oh, and as we talked about last week, I always worry about who his buyer is going to be. Cause like, is that going to be something disappointing? Um, so I was really hoping when Jocasta was reading his mind, she was going to get it and kill him there. And I was like, you know what? If he was just around for three episodes, that was good enough for me, but no, he's going to have this little arc. And I know some people

might go like, oh, well he did not take that much screen time up. I get it, but it's even still too much. It's not enough for me to be like, oh, this is fine. No, like, he should have the screen time of, like, Dummy and you. Like, those are the two. Like, he should be matching and everything, right? Like, I feel like his height was last week. I'm sure there'll be more.

I'm sure something's going to happen where he comes down to a situation and he has to do the wrong thing or save vision. He saves vision and just like, I never thought I'd be the same as Synth before, but you're more human than some of us all. Like, I just already see the path this is going, and I just have no interest in this whatsoever. So very much like a synth possibly trying to destroy the world. Okay, here's another storyline that's not even Marvel-based. It's like Star Wars obviously has done this a lot recently, but I just remember this is nowhere near as bad as Obi-Wan, but with Reva, the whole time we're like, we do not need this storyline right now. This Sith user turning good right now or being misunderstood, right? It's like we

have so much going on with Leia, Kenobi, and Anakin, right? and some other stuff, it's like, let's put Reva somewhere else. Let's do a different project with her, or if there's Obi-Wan season two or something, right? So Paladin feels like a smaller version of Reva right now, where I don't really care for the character, and I think the performance is just fine. So yeah, I'm hoping he meets his end next week, but I don't think, I think he's going to be doing this, and he'll probably give up the information for free, I guess, to Vision at some point, who the buyer is, or his former employer?

Yeah, I mean, he's not he's not a under contract anymore, and honestly there was a part of me that was thinking that maybe this host, this the fucking, I guess the buyer was Jocasta there for a second, but I don't know, I'm just lost, I really have no idea, I just, I want to say it's Ultron, but.

I still think it's going to just be Ultron. I really do, because we talked about that. We're like, oh, well, it's not him. But just, again, in these shows, in all shows, I'm not saying just this, when it's like a murder mystery, you're going to meet this character, right? Because a lot of times if they do it where, oh, you never meet this character, people are going to be disappointed.

Unless you're introducing someone new, like Kang, right? In Loki, they did that. But at the time, that was supposed to be, hey, this is the next big bad. So that's where it's like, okay, the general audience doesn't know this guy, but they're going to know this guy, right? I'm going to assume that the buyer is not Doctor Doom.

So I got that. I guess you never know. I guess... I feel like Doom's going to... That'd be wild. That would be wild. So I'm going to assume it's not Doctor Doom. And I'm going to go as far as to assume it's not Apocalypse. Because I imagine Apocalypse is going to be the next big bad after Doctor Doom. So.

Apocalypse just has a fucking heart on for Vision.

Yeah. I don't know what... He wants... That's going to be his next vessel, right? He's always looking for a vessel like Ultron. He wants to be.

Jesus.

Vision's going to be Blue Vision. So... And that's where it's just like, okay, so I don't think it's going to be Jocasta because this part doesn't make sense. I don't think it's going to be... I'm trying to think if there's anyone else we've... Like, I don't think there's anyone else... I don't think it's going to be, like, Tommy's girlfriend or whatever. Like, I don't want that. So I just think it's going to be Ultron. I feel like they tried to do the red herring. I'm like, oh, not me. Like, I told them where we were going.

I told them that you were here just so we could speed up the process and find out what's going on. I think it could still be him. And yeah, we'll see. Again, that's why I was kind of hoping he would just die and It was just like some bounty hunter that I want in Ultron. This reminds me a lot of Ahsoka Season 1 when everybody was like, hey, who is the fucking ghost Sith user? Or who is that Sith user?

And that was just like a ghost. And I remember a lot of people were mad about that, but I was completely fine. Because I was like, either these revelations aren't going to make sense or they're going to be poorly written with what they've portrayed so far. And same thing right here. I would almost just prefer if it is just somebody... some new character that just really wants the Ultron body, like, for some reason, right? Wants to do something, but I imagine it's Ultron, so.

Yeah.

Yeah. Um, is there anything else with Paladin? I don't think so. How were you feeling about, uh, Tommy and, I forgot her name, what, do you remember the, the, the female character's name that he called up?

Oh, God, no, just his friend from, From the bus, right?

Friend or maybe more, you know. Friend or maybe more. Yeah, I liked that stuff. I thought they were... Oh, there's a show from 1985 called... A movie called Vision Quest? Okay, there you go. I liked their interaction. I think these two got some good.

They have chemistry.

Yeah, they got some chemistry. I like Ultron being like, oh, you know, your... Whatever, your testosterone or something went up the second she arrived. So there was some fun stuff there. Yeah, sure, did they make them fight like just a little easy? Yeah, of course. But I still do wonder where they're going to make this character fit throughout the series. And she's not going to feel like a, like kind of Lisa is her name. She's not just going to feel, yeah, she's not just going to feel like she's baggage. So we'll, I like Lisa. I like Tommy. Uh, I think it's just like what I said last week of, even though I liked them, I wonder, can they make her useful? Also, they made it useful in this episode. She got them

in cause he can't phase anymore. She literally has a jacket with hands in it. So it's like, okay. Um, you know, so she was useful. She got them in there, but when vision can phase, he can do all this stuff. What's going to happen. I don't know.

I'll just cut her.

Um, Ultron might.

Ultron might. Yeah. Um, yeah, no, I, I like her and Tommy quite a bit. I think it's, it's pretty fantastic.

And I like that.

She's also like we saw before she was able to like calm him down and, and just kind of keep her or keep him in check. You know, when he starts freaking out, um, Yeah, I was thinking after last week that we're going to kind of see her tie into like the Lady Ultron kind of thing somehow. But no, that's definitely not the case. Yeah, I'm not sure where that kind of goes with her. I really have no idea where it's going to go with her. I mean, there's no sidekick characters with Tommy, is there?

You mean Billy?

Billy. No, because this is Tommy.

Okay, so what do you mean?

In the comics, does Tommy have a girl sidekick character?

I'm not a big Champions Young Avengers guy. That was not my thing. I'm not a big fan of some of the derivative teams. And again, I just always hated that Young Avengers. It's like, alright. I've said before, Shazam, that was never my thing. When I was a kid, I didn't want to read other kids. I know some people are always like, oh, I wanted to see myself. No, I want to I want to read fucking Wolverine and the X-Men. You know, that's where I'll see the kids there.

But yeah, so I'm not, I'm not a connoisseur on the Young Avengers, but I'll say if there is a sidekick, it's no one named like Lisa and someone that's like, like, I know like, like Billy, he has a relationship with someone named Hulkling and that's like a big thing. Like he dates him and stuff. But with Tommy, I don't think there's something that's, you know, not related.

Is that Scar?

No, it's not Scar. It's not Scar. Um, we had a 10 weapon, a 10 ring shutout. So remember Sung Chi back in 2021 said, uh, you know, the 10 rings will return. They returned. They returned.

Yeah.

They returned. They gave him the adamantine guns. There you go.

What was the other thing that the, they were talking to Paladin about? Cause he thought.

Yeah.

He went to Hell's.

Kitchen and did a job or two or something. So there you go.

That's exciting.

He's all over. Yeah. Maybe that's what we're going to get.

He'll be in Daredevil season three.

That's how you're going to save Daredevil. It's going to be Daredevil versus Paladin. They're going to do a movie.

He'll be on his team now because Paladin's going good guy.

Yeah, fuck. And that's where it's just like, to me, you're like, oh, he's dealing with Ten Rings. He's dealing with Hell's Kitchen. To me, this guy should be, like, the bad guy or bad version of Punisher, where I just feel like if him and Frank Castle are in the same room, Frank Castle is going to fucking dispatch this guy so quickly. Like, we talked about Thanos versus Hulk earlier. This would be less than that. This would be, like, a 30-year-old man in his prime versus, like, a 4-year-old, and you have to fight to death. And that's where, to me, all these credibilities have, like, nothing is radiating that this guy can, like, go toe-to-toe with Frank Castle, you know?

So.

They should have just hired Frank Castle. Should have said, hey, you know what? We got some information. We think Vision killed your family. And he would have believed it, and we would have been back on the same road we always are.

That's right, yeah. Goddamn.

Damn AI. That's all I got.

I thought I had one more thing I wanted to highlight, but.

Anything with the scary stuff? That was all good with the wings.

Yeah, it was good. It was freaky. The whole exorcist kind of thing, that was really funny. The terminology, like Alt-F4, stuff like that. There were some good things in there. But other than that, yeah, I can't really think of anything else. I liked it, though.

Oh, there you go, ladies and gentlemen. Let us know what you thought of this episode. We have the Discord down below. We do have a channel there, so you can let us know in the YouTube or the Discord what you thought about this episode. Later on this week, we got tomorrow, me and Kirkland are doing If I Speak.

I think that'll be at 8 p.m., but I don't know for sure because Kirkland has a family dinner, so we'll see. And then on Thursday is Clayface, so look out for that. And then, yeah, Sunday is After 9. So until next time, it'll not be boring.
