Welcome back to Gil's Arena, presented by Poly Market and powered by Playmaker World. Glorious Tuesday here in the arena. I'm merely a host, Josiah Johnson. I'm here with NBA legend and 2K Unk with badges, Gilbert Arenas.

Theater king.

Theater king. Theater king, I found my place in 2K. It's at the theater. Yeah, the real YNs ain't there.

So you just watching TV or something?

No, he watching me. The theater king.

Oh, so they watch you.

Yeah, you go to the park. Stay away from the park. Go to the theater. Hopefully some Magic Johnson's.

Join us on the show.

We got NBA champion of the world, Swaggy P, Nick Young, back here with us.

I'm a star, too. Catch me on Fox. The weakest link. My show come out.

That makes sense. That makes sense. Right there. Say less.

And we got four-time All-Star, two-time All-NBA selection Demarcus Cousins.

That was crazy.

That was crazy.

We got a lot of things to discuss. Here's what's cracking in the arena today. The shorthanded L.A. Lucas started the preseason strong against Darius Acuff Jr.

In the Kings.

Are the Snowtime Lakers a dark horse in the West? Good, we're talking Lakers. You wore a Lakers jersey.

Woo-hoo. Oh, I got my Lakers hoodie. You got your Lakers on, too. Yes.

Carl Anthony Towns spoke out publicly about his frustrations with the Knicks and his extension. Will the big bodega be on the move before the trade deadline? Got to get a deal done. Stay out of that second apron. And Anthony Davis wants more respect put on his name this season. But will it be with the Wizards? AD, looking for a Max extension? He looking real handsome and cute at the same time.

You know what I mean? I don't know what you mean. Like if he had a twin. Like, you can see the sister in him. But he's on my wisdom. Your hands is nice and supple.

You can see the sister in him.

Mosey fans, back for art. It's going to be one of those days.

You can see the sister in him.

You know what I mean?

I ain't never heard no shit.

You know, like some people got twins.

I can see the sister in him.

You really do got a twin sister. That's why I looked at you like, what the fuck?

Yeah, that's boogie wide. Yeah, he really do got a twin sister. When Gil got a pocket, we just.

No, I'm dead ass serious. He has a twin. Yes. For real? AD's a twin.

Mosey fans, back for our super chat. Throw something in the offering plate. Drop your questions. We'll pick something to answer. At the end of the show, we appreciate y'all. Y'all been putting big donations in the offering plate, helping keep them big, man.

Bro, you got a lot of beef with big man. Man.

Another one to the list.

I'm just saying, that picture, it just looked like if he had a sister, we could.

He really does have a twin sister. I swear to God. I'm dead ass serious. I mean, he talk like that.

He been in the Lakers for how long? We didn't know he had a sister?

You didn't know.

You're not really about it. You don't do the extensive research necessary.

That man got a twin sister, bro. Hey, I need to tell y'all about something.

It's this new sports trading app I discovered is called Polymarket.

It's the most exciting way to.

Trade in sports, and it's a nationwide, federally regulated prediction market. Polymarket is the best prediction market, better than Couchy, DraftKings, and FanDuel. In the past, if you wanted a position on a game, You'd put your money in and get locked in until the very end. But Polymarket lets you trade games like you would a stock, buying in and selling out entirely on your terms. When your team drops to 20 cents, you buy the dip. And when they jump to 40 cents, you sell, lock in your gains, and double your money without waiting for the final whistle.

And it isn't just sports. You can trade on culture, news, and current events. Plus, they have a squads feature where you can talk and trade with your friends. Any trade a member places drops right into the chat as a card, and anyone can hit buy to take that same pick in one tap. Ditch the old limitations and trade on your terms. Download the Polymarket app and use code ARENA.

And when you deposit just $ 10, you'll unlock $ 25 in bonus funds. That's code ARENA to get $ 25 in bonus funds when you deposit $ 10 on Polymarket and Gil's Arena.

Everywhere you want to be. We're on Twitch. Appreciate you to everybody on Twitch. Showing love. Go ahead.

Support the movement. Make sure you subscribe to at Gil's Arena Show on Twitch. And we appreciate y'all as always. So Gil, you've been whining and complaining about us talking too much about good teams. So we'll talk about... We'll talk about your team.

What? I knew you were searching.

You can offer your public apology right now to Anthony Davis and the Davis family.

No, it makes sense now. I've seen what I've seen. Technically, right? I said it looked like he got one because you can see it in him. And then he has one, so I'm a prophet.

It looks like he's got one because you can see it in him.

I'm a prophet.

That is sick. That is crazy.

You see the sister in him? Yeah. Yeah. You know how some people got the little features? Hell no. What you talking about?

Nobody say that.

Nobody?

I see the sister in you.

Oh, man. You look like you got a twin. You look like you got a twin. It's crazy, bro. You've never seen a girl. You'd be like, you know what? She look like her daddy. Yeah, I've heard that. You know what I mean? She look like her daddy. Her daddy going to look just like that. You started off by saying he's handsome and cute.

Yeah, he's like, yeah. It looks like he has a twin sister. The cute part of him, like, you know what? He look like he got a twin.

This ain't okay, man. I can see the sister.

Andy Davis, if you're watching the show today, we just like.

To But it makes it okay now because he has a sister. It makes it even more It doesn't look like the other side I ain't got shit to do with.

This We gotta see these people on the street I ain't got nothing to do with this He's in Washington now We have.

To see him at some point Calabasas It makes sense He got a train.

Let's get into some basketball discourse I think that's a compliment To who? To him.

I mean, it'd be bad if we see her be like, you look like you got a brother in you.

Right? That'd sound weird. But if it was the other way, let's get rolling, Joe.

Ladies and gentlemen, that's our show for today.

Thank you so much to Playmaker and Polymarket.

And we'd like to publicly apologize to Anthony Davis and his family for any comments that Gil will make throughout the course of this show.

I'm a wizard fan now. I was trying to compliment, like, yo, you looking good right now. Looking all strong, got the muscles. Let me just let it go. Let me just. Let's talk about your favorite. Sometimes it just comes out wrong. Let's talk about your favorite team.

The L.A.

Lucas tipped off their preseason schedule. Monday night, up in sack. Glaze Fest. Glaze Tuesday.

Listen, I don't know what your question is. Don't even. I got to catch halftime after we did our show. I caught the half. So you caught the literal worst part of the game? Yeah, yeah.

So this morning around 4 a.m., I re-watched it.

You watched the first half. So Lakers up a sack to take on the Kings. Austin Reeves and Walker Kessler both sidelined.

The Kings.

But a slimmed-down Luka did play and did what Luka does. Let's take a look at the highlights of Slovenian Jesus. Gil's favorite player. So Luka only played the first half. Started out a little cold, but then got the cookie.

Luka had 13 points in the first quarter. That motherfucker looking quick. It's his team now.

It's only one LeBron on the roster now. He got more power. So Luka had 13 points in the first quarter. Finished the game with 21 points and 16 minutes of action for the Purple and Gold Doing his thing, Gil.

You like what you saw? Hell yeah. About the glass. Thank you. Easy work.

Easy.

Easy work.

Like I said, 21 points, 16 minutes, which included Slovenian Jesus making Domantas Sabonis lose his shoe, as you can see right there, for drilling a three, and then pointing out where the shoe is, being a good Euro. So with Luka leading the way, the Lakers put up 73 points in the first half. led by damn near 30 at the break. Purple and Gold also got positive performances from new acquisitions, Zaire Williams and Quentin Grimes, as well as rookie Cameron Carr, who was the second leading scorer with 19 points off the bench in 23 minutes.

Gil, our resident Lakers glazer. Showing love to shit, Kern. I like it.

The Purple and Gold special. What stood out to you most about Luka and this new-look Lakers squad? Without reason, Kessler. Luka coming in with his new crew.

Unlike last year. We got, listen, listen, listen.

Imagine watching the game and then you expecting some bullshit out there.

And then there's real hooping.

Like everybody who got, there was not this stand and shoot corner players. Everybody who was dead knew how to put.

That ball in the basket. That Grimes, the Grimes. You like Grimes?

Welcome to Los Angeles, man.

Hit the dick in the post. Spin on him. Late.

I don't give a fuck what it is.

We didn't have players that did that. They just sat in the corner, shot the three, gave it back. He hit him in the post like little too little down here. Hit him with the spin.

Easy late.

Then came down, hit him with the trade.

Like, yo, who is this? Who is this?

I know I'm on 2K and got the bottoms, but I didn't know he was good.

He went for 40 one time.

He gonna go for 40 again. Him, Carr, William. Hey, listen. Hardy.

All these players get buckets, man. 23 in preseason. 23 in preseason.

All I'm saying.

Chip.

We compared that.

Chip. Chip.

What was it? Magic Freak yesterday.

Chick Hearn.

Yeah, the Magic Johnson passing and what he had, 12 or something like that?

Who?

This is what he's supposed to have had.

Who?

You was glazed in Miami for the Greek freak being Magic Johnson. No, I didn't say Magic Johnson.

He was over here, Magic Johnson.

I said what Coach Flo said about Giannis.

Looking like Magic Johnson. I did not give him no Magic Freak. Yes, y'all did.

No, don't say y'all. I said he was a regular-ass passer. That was a regular-ass passer. He had 12 points in the same amount of time, right? 21.

Yeah. There's levels to the scoring shit. There's levels. There's levels to this scoring. But it's sack, though.

It's sack. I don't know one person on sack that he was playing against. Who was playing defense on him? Who was number 25?

Who?

The guy that was playing defense on Luka in the highlights. Did you know who that was? Every time somebody's going to look at nobody. He's going to do that regardless.

Yeah, what are you talking about? He left the league in scoring last year. We don't give a fuck about who's in front of us.

That's what scorers do.

It's sack.

It don't matter. Yes, it does. Everybody got a defender, right?

It's sack. No disrespect. No disrespect.

Motherfucker, I'm on the couch with you. What the fuck is a disrespect to me?

I know you like sack and shit.

Man, that shit was 10, 12 years ago, brother.

I'm on the couch love for Boogie Cousins you.

Know you like represent like when they see you they see sack you got a lot of sack in you this guy he said sister he got a lot of sack in you so you know you go back you know that's like him in D.C. you know where you at? Lakers Lakers I'm a Lakers that's that's yeah man they see me they see Lakers you see that?

Huh? You said it already. Warrior, they say warrior. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. They see Laker. That losing-ass Lakers. They don't see champs. They see them losing-ass Lakers. You right. I'm glad you finally hit reality. Yeah, yeah. That's how we recognize you. That's how we recognize you. That motherfucker that did this and turned around. Yeah, Laker. Highlight of your career. Your whole life. Little D-Lo. Everything you talk about is Laker.

I'm glad it's clicking for you now. Finally. Yeah. Hey, we gotta change that introduction. That fucking champ of the world. Don't listen.

Don't let them... Don't listen to them.

You a swag EP from the losing lake. The losing lake. It's the losing lake. You a part of Cole's frustration? Yeah.

Damn. When I see you, I see frustration. When I see you, I see frustration.

Cole was around there pissed. What? Look at this shit. Look at this shit.

That's what I gotta work with?

Man.

Swaggy, you did stand up to Kobe, though.

I did.

When he was calling the team soft to Charmin.

You called me that day. He was happy. You remember that day, huh?

What?

Me and Kobe and soft like Charmin.

Mm-hmm.

And you called me.

Mm-hmm.

That's how you do it.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You got to stand up to it. That's how you get the respect.

But let's talk about the preseason matters now. The preseason matters now when it's the Lakers playing against the lowly Sacramento Kings.

We're just doing this because I know you wanted to talk Lakers. No, I'm just saying, what do you mean matters? When we say matters, yeah, yeah, yeah.

We didn't need him. What was Austin Reeves?

Austin Reeves, Walker Kessler did not play him.

Usually when you just get that money, you don't got to play the first game. I mean, he don't have to play the first game. But the car.

The cam car. The car.

Yeah. Car tough.

Got that daddy in him. What? He a junior. That's an NBA son right there. That's NBA in his blood.

That's NBA, but when you got that NBA blood in you, you got your daddy in you.

Yeah.

Yeah.

What's happening today? Yeah, Chris Carr. You look like you got a sister. You got his daddy in him. Over here. He's over here on the lake of time. The light-skinned one. He's nice. He has a lot of gas. He's nice. He's nice.

That was a steal. 19 points off the bench. 7 for 13 from the field. 3 for 7 from 3. It is the preseason though.

For a rookie, that's a rookie supposed to be. This is the best that they.

Dolph Zanuck played 12 minutes.

You don't think so?

Who playing over him? Carr's not getting them same shots. He was a first-round pick, too, right?

Yeah. They do this in preseason. They get your hopes up and shit. You think you're going to get them same shots.

Luka's on.

You're traumatized.

Yes, I am. You're traumatized. PTSD. Nah, they're going to get them shots.

No, they're not. Luka ain't passing that shit to Carr.

He can flat-out play. He can jump out the gym. So, lobs is going to him. That's all he's going to get.

He can shoot, too.

Luka taking 25 shots.

Brother, brother, brother. A.R.

Didn't play.

A.R.

Got to play. Where that 19 going to be at? A.R.

Didn't play.

A.R. going to take his shot. He's got paid 200. He got to have 19. Grimes got to get hit some of his shit too.

Kessler won't get me.

That's what I'm saying.

Straight live, guy.

Now you're going to get rid of A.R.

Now? See? Go on the other side of the couch. Hey, no limit daddy slander. No limit daddy slander, baby. Ain't none. Number 15.

So you're not getting rid of A.R.? Hell no.

He's a second option now.

So Carr, go to the corner.

We don't got no corner boys. I mean, Vando's still here, but, you know, he dunked yesterday and shit. Like, he got his legs back when LeBron left.

He got his legs back. He got his legs back. But, you know, all sincerity, Luka looking good. Was working out all summer.

J.J. Reddick after the game said Luka was actually doing sprints and conditioning. It looks like it. Slim down. Lose the impact. We've heard this same story for years.

23 is made in a preseason game.

It's huge.

I ain't even tripping off the stats. I'm more impressed with the movement. The way Luka moving, getting to his spots. He's playing with a burst now. Usually it was more of a walk-up type of game. His movements have definitely improved. You can tell he's been working on his body in the offseason.

J.J.

Gotta say, he was doing sprints and running, and it's supposed to be like, he's supposed to be happy that.

It's conditioned. I think it got down to like 230 pounds, something like that.

So he never ran before. Like, think about that. Be happy he's doing sprints now.

Yeah.

Glad he got so much love for the game. Took the whole team to his homeland.

Hey, man, look. I'm serious.

Hey, what team are you this year? Because obviously they're in the Lakers. No, so did you are you one of them that you left you with Brian? Yeah.

And you know, okay still have a LeBron on the roster squad, Minnesota.

That's my squad.

Speaker 4: Speaker 4: Speaker 4: Speaker 4:

.

Speaker 1: Speaker 1: Speaker 1:

.

What's your squad, bro? Be original.

I said Minnesota, too. I bet Minnesota.

Golden State. I thought that's who you was, man. You ain't repping Golden State?

I'd go Philly. I'd go Philly.

Oh, man. All right. Philly definitely don't fuck with you.

At all.

Oh, I forgot you played for Philly. We all forgot. Yeah. Trust the process, Waggy. Y'all got traded there?

Yeah.

For who?

No, I didn't get traded.

You signed then.

I signed.

We had a celebration and everything. Right.

Damn.

But you care to elaborate on that? Damn, you just passed around like that?

Nah, this thing was throwing people. Yeah, it was a fun time.

Yo, that was hilarious, man. Yeah. It was a good time.

You was there?

Where?

Well, you was around. You was like... Nah, you kind.

Of walked through and was out. Yeah. You didn't even stay long. You remember that? Yeah.

That's crazy.

The only time. What was this?

You got a bad memory, but let's move on.

No, let's talk about it.

More entertaining. What was this?

At the other house. We had the big pool party in the back. The one after your son shit? No, not that one. Before that one. You done fucked with me so many times. You ruined my life so much.

What happened? What you do? You do a party or something?

Yeah, and you came and left.

Must have been some bullshit in there. It must have been some shit. Nah, it was a good time. Nah, it must have been. Yeah, too many of y'all.

This shit look dangerous around here.

Yeah, that sounds like me. There was people in the pool, Swaggy?

Yeah, it was a lot going on. It was a fun time.

Reseda. It was family friendly.

Yeah, family friendly. It was cool.

Was this before Dave and Buster's or after Dave and Buster's?

Before Dave and Buster's. That's what I'm saying. Philly was before Lakers, fool.

It's when he signed. He was literally celebrating the signing. And I came?

Yeah.

You didn't stay, but you definitely walked through. Okay.

That's crazy.

You don't remember. I'm not a real fan.

Who remembers five minutes, nigga? The ladies say they don't remember it. They don't even count it. Why should I count it?

Walk in, hey, hey, hey, I'm out. Oh, shit. We'll get popping up in here. Anywho.

Boy, you're looking at Luca out here doing what he does.

And you're all stomping grounds. I think Luka looked really good, man.

There's been a lot of criticism around his name as far as, you know, how he takes care of his body, things of that nature. So I think in the past two seasons, he's kind of, you know, silenced that part as far as where the criticism comes in. I think this is probably the best he's looked since his younger years in Dallas. Like I was saying earlier, though, I know what he's going to do numbers-wise.

I think that's by default.

The way he's doing, the way he's moving, like I said, the burst and to get into his spots. Even seeing him get to the cup this early in the season like that, I think he kind of got away from that when he was dealing with the weight issues.

You could tell he's in a good place physically. I think that's a plus for the Lakers.

It's just scary to think as far as how he's been performing, you know, so-called out of shape. I mean, you can see this dude averaged 35 this year if, you know, if he really, really wanted to. So this is a new look. It's a new responsibility. And on top of that, it's, you know, it's no more excuses. This is, you know, this is Luka's squad. It's no more so-called distractions or, you know, anything stopping the development.

So he got the keys to the car.

So as of right now, how he's showing himself, he's starting off on the right foot.

Gil, like what you said, no more excuses for Luka.

Yeah.

Right?

Yeah, yeah, nah, we good. Okay. Yeah, this shit. I'm about to put, I got to put him, I got to make some space. To add Luka to it. How come ain't no Slovenians on the wall, Gil? Yeah, he going to be up there. Okay. Yeah, this is, you know what I mean? Like, I got to, I got to put, yeah, I got to put him up there.

You know, I got to. Who you going to take off? No, no, no, I got to, I'm going to just make them all a little bit smaller.

Probably just keep the big three. Or the big four. Keep the big four.

Why you got LeBron so little?

The big four up top. Huh?

Why LeBron so little? He should be like Kobe. No, no, that's Lakers up there. That's Lakers. It should be Madden.

You see, the Lakers is big, motherfucker. The Lakers play big. He should be in the middle.

You put that Cleveland bullshit at the bottom, okay? It's Michael Jordan. You also play for the Lakers.

Yeah, but I couldn't put him in another Laker jersey because he can do that much, right?

He won all the chips. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he did. But not enough to be there with the rest of them. They want multiple. This is multiple. But Luka goes on there. Yeah. In a Lakers jersey. That's great. Yeah. Okay. He's not going to put him in a Dallas jersey. I mean, based off your standard, why? You know what? You know what?

You're right.

I can't contradict myself, so I'm going to just wait.

Just give him his own wall.

Yeah, put that white.

You know what? Just give him his own little wall. You know what? You ain't never said nothing wrong. He do need his own wall.

But you're looking at Luka, looking at this Lakers squad, how encouraging and important is for young players like Cam Carr, Zyra Williams to play well in the preseason? I know you said the preseason don't matter, but to see Cam Carr's first NBA action go out there, put up 19, playing with the quote-unquote big boys, obviously the Kings didn't have some players playing as well, but.

When we say preseason don't matter, it don't matter for the elite and the star players because they know what the season looks like. But for players who didn't get time last year, players who's trying to still make the roster, players who's trying to, like, get a better role than they did last year.

All of this matters, right? So when you're talking about.

These guys, these guys are still fighting for minutes for the season.

So all production matters out here for these guys. Carr, Williams, Hardy, right?

These guys are still trying to, you know... be on JJ's good side, like, trust me when I'm out here. So, this is a good side. Everybody played well.

Right?

You know, it's one game, they got another game tonight. And, you know, these guys, everything matters. They're looking at everything. What time to get on that bus. You know, like, if you're watching film, if you're taking notes, they're watching everything.

They're trying to figure out how to weed you out so it can be an.

Easier process for them.

Exactly.

Right?

So, you make it hard for them. Show up early. Get your shots in, ask your questions.

Especially when everybody's playing well. I try to stand out somehow.

I think Zaire Williams was a great signer for him as well. He was a key piece of that Memphis group when they was rocking in the West with John M. Kind of got lost in the shuffle when he got moved to Brooklyn. But a great 3 and D type of player. I think on paper he's a great fit next to Lukas. And like you said, the way they perform in preseason, that gains their trust, their coaching staff. So, you know, he's picking up full court on, you know, on Darius Acuff, the rookie. So that's a good sign.

That's a good sign. That's the type of shit you got to do to stand out. So he's doing the right thing.

And it looks a little like he got something to prove.

He do? He do. Yeah.

And but LeBron do too, so that's what makes the NBA look like it's going to be fantastic.

You said LeBron got something to prove?

LeBron got something to prove. You kicked me off the Lakers for this, and now he's looking like, man, this is why you got kicked off.

No, what I'm saying is, it's not even that. It does look like that. Everybody who moved, they got.

Shit to prove.

That's what I'm saying.

LaMelo got shit to prove.

That's what I'm saying.

Jokic got his shit approved. Shea's on the comeback. Miami.

Spurs.

Giannis is over there. Then you have shit. Now you got Bigfella.

Even Cat. Everybody is... They actually have something to play for.

It seems like everybody got screwed this year.

So, Gil Lucas' first two playoffs with the Lakers left much to be desired. Yeah. Yeah. Shit, even Shannon Brown. Shit, Ja.

Ja.

Ja got something to prove. Dane got something to prove.

Dane?

Yeah.

Yeah, let's not talk about Portland.

You see, hey, hey, hey, AD over there. AD got something to prove.

Did you see the projected starters for Portland?

Yeah. That's crazy. We're going to try to know where they're starting both of them.

No, Ja was coming off the bench.

What? What?

I turn the channel after I see you.

Micah Norris is apparently opposed to him. Micah Norris is my guy, too. Ain't no way.

Opposed to starting, but he's going to have to start him just to see what it look like. So what did they trade for him? Outside of the business part.

I didn't want to change the subject, but yeah.

But you did. Who did what? The coach did what?

Apparently, Micah Norris is a little hesitant to want to start both of them together just for the defensive issues, but I think they will be starting together just so they can see what it's like.

Y'all ain't winning shit. Period.

What the fuck are you talking about for the defense? Your team sucks.

Right?

You only have offense.

That was almost a playoff. I'm not going to do this shit with you. They lost in the playoff, right? Yeah, they were a playoff team. We're not going to be doing the defense shit. They can't stop you on defense. Let the other team worry about the defense. You're telling me you are considering sitting... No, he came off the bench already. You are considering as a head coach in the NBA to sit an all-NBA all-star, one of the most dangerous players in the league to start fucking who?

Drew Holiday. And Drew Holiday?

Yeah.

And he's not saying he's going to do it.

The fact that he's thinking about doing it.

I just don't understand what was the point.

How about this?

You put Drew and Holiday, whoever you want to start on defense, and then let Damon, what's the name, I guarantee you the two offensive players whoop the fuck out there.

Now I'm mad. So what do you suggest? How would you go about it?

Coach your team on the fucking best players. Stop trying to outsmart the system. Stop trying to stop outsmarting the system. Why are you trying to outsmart the system? That is the weirdest shit. I hate when coaches do that. They already have this planned idea of what their team should be.

I do.

And you have not even seen the players. Training camp starts. Yeah, you have Dame. Let everybody play. See who meshes with each other.

I agree on that for sure. I agree on that. And if they don't mesh. Then you adjust. You're not going to mesh?

We've already said if. The bad part about it is we already seen Dame and CJ. We didn't know if they could play defense or not.

Didn't matter.

Right?

It didn't matter.

We seen Ja and Bane. Did anybody worry about defense then? No.

That's real.

That's what the other fucking players are for. That's what your big man is for.

That's his job. Defense. There's players who get paid to do that.

Well, it's still a question within how do they play together. It's two guys that need the ball in their hand. Do they compliment each other in the room?

Yep. You think they do? Yes.

It's just like when you think about... If Dame has the ball, what is... What CJ was doing with Dame, they play off ball. Usually guards that play like that, they're fine. I've never seen two guards really... You got to throw Denny in the mix, too, though.

Who? Denny, I do. He's a small forward. I mean, he's a small forward.

That's a nice little three combo right there.

That's a nice three combo. Defense lacking. The four or five might not get no goddamn touches, but that's fine. We're going to talk extensive blazers. Tomorrow on this very show. Oh, man. If y'all coming off the bench, I'm done. I'm done. I'm not.

But let's shift back to your favorite thing.

It's just name time. It's name time.

But to Portland, I'm out. You bring me off the bench and I'm job of rent right now?

That's crazy. Just trade me, man.

Yeah, I'm done.

Nah, I'm good.

That nigga see my 360 layup.

What you talking about? The crowd jumped. I'm not coming off no bench. Oh, he coming off that.

You don't have to do that 360 for him to send your ass.

You got me over here next to Smoot Henderson.

You going to Smoot?

No.

Fred Smoot Henderson.

Oh, man. Scoot your ass over. Scoot.

Scoot your ass over, Scoot. I want a 360 right now.

Let's go back to your Lakers. We were talking about this a couple weeks ago, and you were a little wishy-washy on it. Yeah. I want to know, how much pressure is on Luka to prove that he can be the guy on a contender? Like the Lakers.

And should he be held to the same standard as a 40-year-old LeBron James when the Lakers were his team?

Ooh.

I think Luka went to the championship.

With the Lakers?

It don't matter what color jersey he on, goddammit.

He gonna get you there. He gonna get you to the promised land. I'm not questioning him no more.

The type of players I seen last night and their ability, it looks.

Very different from last year. I'm sorry. You said you were going to get cheap tickets this year. I'm talking about the role players. Yesterday, bro, listen to what I'm telling you. These guys.

actually play basketball. I can't wait for the game. No, I'm just saying this, but you know the difference.

Like, last year, you got guys... This is a new look right here.

You just got guys who sit in the corner waiting for somebody.

It's a new look.

These guys are sitting here, coming through the air. They're doing their own thing. They're posting up. They're like, give me the ball.

Boom, boom.

Like, even Bronny, like, hey, he got nice little IQ.

Little bounce. I'll do that bitch out of bounds. Mother jumped up. Ah. Like, okay. That's what I'm saying.

We got dudes that make plays for each other. It's just not Austin Reeves and Luka that can dribble, penetrate, and kick it to someone.

We have ISO players.

Like, that's what I'm saying. Huh? You can't, everybody can't ISO.

No, no, no, everybody can't ISO, but we can. We can't ice it. Everybody can't ice it. AR wasn't out there.

But everybody can't ice it.

We'll see November.

You know what I mean, right? We'll see November. But you asked, was it the same pressure on Luka? No, it ain't the same pressure. I think it is. And I'll explain why. Please, buddy.

Why when it comes to guys that have already proven to win a championship, it's still pressure on them to keep proving? But when it comes to Luka, well, he already made two conference finals. He ain't got nothing else to prove. That don't make sense. So based off the standard that Bron and him, Bron, KD, Steph, Giannis, Jokic, if that's their standard, why does he get a pass?

Drop it.

Oh, but you're talking about from LeBron's standard? Like, he's trying to get another ring for the Jordan. So he got his own shit going on.

Luka ain't got no ring.

I know, but the LeBron shit, that's his own little thing.

That's his own little word.

I'm not even just talking about LeBron. I'm talking about the standard for all the champs already in our league.

Oh, the champs? Their standard is they have to keep winning. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

But you're sitting here, SGA, but you're sitting here saying Luka don't have that same pressure.

Yeah, because we win yet.

But you also said, well, nah, because he already been to the finals or he already been to the conference finals.

No, yeah, he said, can you lead him?

Is he leading on a contending team? And I said, he already did that.

Here's my point. Is there pressure on Luka now? Luka got the three-year extension. Luka got the team built in his image. Completely new roster. Rob Palenka, everything you're talking about. Played Brown to the left. After everything he did for the Lakers organization, get a championship, an in-season tournament championship, the inaugural in-season tournament, NBA Cup.

Yeah. Against all odds. And I don't mean to be rude. There's pressure on Luke and there's even more pressure on Palenka. I don't think y'all really understand what it is right now.

What it is?

Remember, he's very young, right? He ain't getting younger. You know what I'm saying is?

Luka already has a scoring title as a Laker, right? You remember there's going to be like when you look down the Laker history of Lakers, Luka will be in front of LeBron James as a Laker. He already got the first teams in the All-Star. Remember, six years from now, he's going to have, if he gets the MVP, LeBron don't have that. He's going to have a couple scoring titles, some assist titles, and the Lakers never have never, besides DeAndre Baylor, has the superstar of the team, the megastar.

Has all won a championship as a Laker.

They're the grandfather.

So LeBron has done those things. LeBron has won a championship. We're talking about as a Laker. As a Laker. Yeah, he got a little championship. The artist championship. The finals MVP. So how the hell is Luka going to be above him if he ain't got none of that?

We're talking about a damn scoring title. Brother, we got 10 years with him.

No, you got three. Oh, you crazy as shit.

Shit. All right.

You're crazy as you think the Lakers is thinking about trading Luka at any point.

I didn't say that, but that don't mean he won't walk away. Luka got hit. Life changed. Next thing you know, Luka in Denver. Man.

Luka in Minnesota.

Name me a person that... Man, relax.

Can you name a star player that.

Left the Lakers willingly? Like, I want to leave L.A. LeBron. Yep.

Philly.

What are we talking about? It just happened. Did he want to leave? Did he want to? Yes. Did he leave? We didn't give him his extension. For a huge discount, girl. Yes. I don't want your money. That was after. I don't want your money. And he was 52. Man, it's 15. Bro, 173 years old. That's even worse.

He left as an old man. Nobody want to leave all this fun. I'm just saying, man.

Listen, listen, listen. To go to Philly. I'm saying there's no pressure on him to.

Win right now. Because it's still LeBron's feel on it.

Come on, man. We got to stop with this shit. Thank you, buddy. Whoa, whoa, whoa. He just got here. LeBron's feel? What the fuck does that mean?

We got to remove it, put the team around. We got to build the pieces for him. You built the pieces for him.

LeBron left his remains in the locker room.

You resign AR, you got Walker Kessler, you completely overhauled the roster.

We don't have all the players that we need. We still got to keep building and itching it out. You still got two years, maybe depending on what we do this summer. Next year or the year after, that's when it's like, this is his team.

We building.

Right now, you're just moving old pieces out, bringing new pieces in. This is like a new house. The Lakers have one of the biggest. This is a new house, motherfucker. I got to rip all this shit out first. I got to do this room, get this shit up out of here.

Do the kitchen, redo the kitchen. They renovated.

Give me a couple years before I, you know what? This is all me right here.

What year is this for Luka in a Lakers jersey? I was with LeBron first year. Is this third year? This is our second year. Two and a half. This is his. This will be his third season. This is his third season. No, this is. Trade at the deadline. Have that season. Half a season. That's half. Two and a half. Round up in the arena. So it's half a season. That was one. This is our. Playoff disappointment in that season. So we ain't even had two full years because we ain't even started yet. Half a season.

A year and a half.

Playoff disappointment in that season. Luka did not play in the playoffs at all. This past season. Now we built a team in your image. Luka gave you everything you want. This is your squad. We got you Walker Kessler. We got you all the Caucasians you need.

You want Joker, too? You got to have Joker. Then it ain't about Luka. It's Joker who won the championship.

Okay, let me tell y'all something. You see that white man down there? Which one? That one right there, number 44. Jerry?

We don't even know the number. We don't even recognize him by the number. We do recognize him by that logo on them socks and the logo everywhere.

He lost. That ain't an official jersey. He lost eight championships. They didn't care. Pre-internet. He won, too.

And they put him on the logo for you niggas to wear it all the time. That is a Laker. That is a Laker. The Lakers are so good, right? They got an MVP. The next year, they got Magic Johnson. Win a championship, right? Magic getting hurt.

They got a number one pick. James Word. That's the type of power we got here. The type of power where you get Shaquille O'Neal. Kobe Bryant, Paul Gasol, come over here. LeBron James. And they all won championships. Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis.

Champion.

Luka.

That's the power.

You've never seen that many megastars. We done had every single megastar.

So with all that being said, is it pressure for Luka to win? No, baby, I know what I'm getting. But you just named all them guys that came here and won. It's not a bad pressure. No. Because it's 31-team.

So does Luka have pressure moving forward?

He hasn't won yet.

Listen, when you say pressure, that means you don't know that it's happening.

All right, does he have championship expectations? Yes. All right, cool.

And what happens if he does not reach those championships? That never happens, so we don't even got to worry about that.

Okay, good. It never happened.

What if it happened?

Not to a megastar. Not to the... Nick? Nick wasn't a megastar. Swaggy P is iconic. He was a star. I am legend. I am legend. I am legend, girl. Why go to the jewelry? They don't call Swaggy. I am legend. Why you swallowing this shit?

Why you swallowing this shit? Nigga don't be swallowing when he say my name, nigga.

I didn't do none of that. I'm just saying.

Swallow again like that.

Swallow again like that, Gil. See what happens. The Chats call me a LeBron Glazer and all that. LeBron James. Gil, we're playing with the Lakers. We got LeBron James. We do. You do have LeBron.

No, what I'm saying is we got LeBron. Like, when you think about history. You got two LeBrons. Think about the top ten list.

All those people you trade, they traded for AD.

Magic, Shaq.

Kareem.

I don't want to hear about old niggas, dude. It's 2026. Come on. What we talking about? And none of those people are on the Lakers. None of them are on the Lakers right now.

We're talking about losing pressure.

He won and they still have more pressure on him.

We knew he was going to win. We knew he was going to win.

No, y'all didn't. What are you talking about?

As soon as he got here, that shit flipped 360.

No, when AD got here, it flipped 360.

No, what I'm saying is he got here and then the next year, Anthony Davis.

That's what I'm talking about. How many years was it before AD got you? I thought he played the following season. Following season? That's easy. We don't play that shit. We don't play that shit. LeBron got hurt. Lakers didn't miss the playoffs. LeBron got hurt that first year.

I think they were top three or four in the West before he got hurt.

He got hurt, and he got packed up.

No excuses.

We don't care about you being hurt. We don't care about you being hurt. It was expectation. Then we got LeBron, and then we got Anthony Davis. Okay, and then you got that.

Then we won chips. With LeBron being the finalist. Now you have Luka Doncic. And then next year, we're going to get him. Entering his third season.

Third season. Ooh.

LeBron came. And then another megastar came with him. Austin Reed. You already got your megastar. Luka's here. You got Austin Reed. And we're going to get another one. I'm trying to tell you. You got Austin.

Y'all don't know what's about to happen.

I'm trying to tell you.

You think it's on dope today.

Okay. Dope and dog food. All right, so. Look at the names, baby.

Y'all better match them up. Do you need a playoff run this year? What superstar was with Wes?

I wasn't even born. Okay, bam. One superstar was with Kareem.

That was with, right?

Another one, right?

Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe.

They drafted Kobe, though.

Shaquille O'Neal. They already knew what they was getting. They drafted Austin. They got Luka. You have your two superstars. He's not a superstar. We can pay anybody. Y'all paid him like a superstar?

We got that kind of money, man. You see, we done flipped it. We done flipped it. We done treat this Laker name like a pack, baby. We done treat it like a pack.

How many times has it been sold to you?

He's crazy. How many times have these Lakers.

Been sold in the last 24 hours? It's a hot commodity. What's that shit you promote?

That thing on Mars right now.

It's like blue magic. We done got it. We done flipped it. Got it to you. You done flipped it. It's so good, we can flip it as many times as we want. It's pure. It is pure. Okay.

So next summer, next summer, I don't want to hear shit from y'all when we get the name that I know.

So what about this year? Yeah.

What about this fall, winter, and summer? I got one.

I'm saying y'all going to get names next year.

You're not getting Joker. No, we're not getting Joker. We got somebody. We're naming. Who is.

It?

Hey, I'm just saying, we might get Anthony Davis back. On a discount, but let's keep this thing moving, Gil, since you're talking in circles. Is AD going to go back?

Let's talk about the Kings side of it since we got Boogie here on the couch, but only one specific aspect, obviously. Kings will probably be a hot pack of mid this season, but are expecting big things from seventh overall pick Darius Acuff Jr. And despite the lopsided score, the rookie gave Sacktown some optimism in his NBA preseason debut. Let's take a look at some Darius Acuff Jr. talking about the Kings while we can. Seven Chili's in the metropolitan area in Sacramento and a Topgolf.

Acuff Jr.

Played 27 minutes Finished with 19 points, four assists, and five turnovers, but it is a preseason game. Eight for 17 from the field. He was one for four from distance, but showed a wide range of bucket-getting capabilities. Also did not back down. Look at the run that y'all... Against some of what could be the Lakers' starting unit, including Luka Jamar Donchik.

Let's take a look, Gil. All right, ooh. I see a lot of AIs.

I see like J-Kid and Stephon Marvin.

That ain't no goddamn AI.

That is the jogger.

It's more Stephon.

Look at the movement. Come on.

Stop, bro.

Look at the whole run back.

What are you talking about? That ain't AI?

I don't see AI. Look at the jogger back. Wait, it wasn't on that one. But look at the movement, bro.

Look.

So, A-Cup 19 and four. Gotta give a shout out to second year guard, Neek Clifford as well. Friend of the program. Neek Clifford played 28 minutes off the bench. Led the Kings with 23 points.

He's trying to be AI.

So, we're gonna start with Boogie. Our resident expert of all things Sacramento. Beloved by the city. Maybe not by the media, but that's a two-way street.

Fuck. That's fucking boulevard. See me when you see me.

What are your first impressions of Darius Acuff Jr. in his NBA preseason debut with the Kings?

I think he did fantastic. I think he's giving.

I think he's going to be a bright spot for this organization moving forward.

I think he was a great pick.

I think he's in good hands when it comes to Scott Perry in the front office. And I think he's the right step in the right direction. You found a foundational piece for the organization, a franchise-type player. So, you know, I think that's the hard part, you know, as far as organizations and finding that talent. So the hard part is out of the way now is, you know, just building around the kid. He's all about, you know, doing the right things. He's super professional. He loves the game of basketball. He's a natural leader. And he's a showman. Like, when those lights come on, you know he's going to go out and perform. And he's fearless. So I think that's everything you want in your young star. I think

he did exactly what he was supposed to do. And on top of that, We spoke about Rookie of the Year a couple episodes ago, and I can't believe I left out his name. But he may have the best chance of winning Rookie of the Year. And the reason I say that, the ball is in his hands. He's going to get every shot attempt. This isn't a team, and no knock to sack, but this isn't a team that's going to be successful this year.

So this is going to be a.

Big learning year for him. He's going to be able to play through a lot of his mistakes. Probably have a longer leash than a lot of these other top rookies. But the biggest thing is he'll have the ball in his hands the most.

So I think that increases his chances of winning a rookie of the year this year. So King's investing a lot in A-Cup. There was a video about a couple days ago circulating him. He had like eight coaches with him just rebounding for him. They better, yeah.

Just a line of developmental coaches.

Yeah.

Obviously wanted to be in SAC, which I think was an important part of this piece.

I think it got something to do with that.

Sorry to cut you off, but wanting to be in SAC also has to do with that Detroit connection because Scott Perry also has a relationship with his father. So I think all of that kind of played a part in it and you know, as a young guy coming into this league, one of the best things you can have is somebody like you're familiar with or similar to.

So I think Scott Perry presents that for him and that's part of the reason he wanted to be in SAC.

Most definitely.

It looks like a A young Rashad Phillips for all my Detroit people out there. They'll understand that reference. Shout out to Yoda. But Swaggy, we're moving on to you. You're saying AI is your comp in your opinion, but how did Darius Acuff Jr. look to you in his preseason debut with the Kings?

He looked like the future, man. I'm telling you, he got a lot of AI in him. I was a little disappointed. I wanted the Clippers to draft him because it was out of him, man. What's the guy from Illinois, I think? The point guard. I wanted him to be in LA, I think. Clippers needed somebody with that type of energy to turn the, the, that team around, but it's a great, a better fit, obviously, in sack, more opportunities to play, more opportunities to shoot and show your game.

And when you got somebody that you familiar with, you get more comfortable out there, you more, you ain't thinking too much about the mistakes you made when you got somebody that believes in you.

Absolutely. Man.

So I think it's just the best situation for him where he could be him. Uh, And, you know, they still got a team, too.

I ain't going to lie.

They got a quiet team on the low. Like, they would sneak you if you.

I agree.

Yeah, I was about to say, a quiet team on the low. If you just come in thinking it's just like sack when DeMarcus play when you only have to worry about him. You know, but, no, he going to be okay. He for sure could win rookie of the year for sure because he could get a lot of shots.

Who is his player comparison? I know you saying AI. I could see flashes of it, but.

When y'all say flashes of AI, which AI we talking about? Not Philadelphia AI. I mean the crossover. I could see it, man. I don't think that's his comparison. I see flashes When you say crossover, which one? The one he shook the motherfucking Jordan logo off? That was the first time the logo switched sides.

What's the key for Michigan that was trying to be A.I.? The kid that went to Michigan back in the day and played for New York. He won a championship, I think. Yeah, Trey Burke.

Oh, Trey Burke.

He was trying to be A.I. like his demeanor.

Do you need to see a video of A.I.

Everybody wanted to be A.I. We remember A.I. back in the day. Are you talking about A.I.? Nobody doing the long crossover.

Yeah, that's A.I. I'm saying the movement. A.I.

Used to stop, one leg in front, come back. It was shifty.

One A.I. was way faster and quicker than anything you're seeing out there.

He don't have to be the exact man. God damn, he's not AI the person, motherfucker. He got some of his game.

God damn.

Was Kobe fucking Jordan literally, mother fucker?

Damn. Shit. Kobe was more Jordan.

Mother fucker.

Kobe was more Jordan than he is AI. Damn. But was he soon when he came in?

Was he soon when he came in? Rookie?

Yes.

No. As he got older.

Stop.

No.

No.

No.

You think the comparisons to Jordan came when?

When do you think it came?

Kobe was doing that long crossover shit. He was doing nothing really like this. When do you think the comparisons came? I think later on for me.

You think? Okay, you think.

For me seeing it?

Oh, for you seeing it. Okay, when he came into the NBA, that was the comparison. That's who he was. That's what everybody was saying. That's who his idol was. Okay, it could be a title. So on the bench, that's what it was. He talked, he walked. He was more Jordan like at the beginning of his career because he was wearing the Western name, doing the walking and the talking.

That's how that was. I'm sorry, you was probably in what, middle school? You're right. For the sixth year? I wasn't there, right. No, you wasn't there.

I wasn't there.

You wasn't there in 96.

You was there in 96.

I was in high school in 96, so we're watching the tube.

So we both watching the same thing.

Sitting on the bench.

So we both watching the same thing. Swaggy, did you have access to cable? Hell no, he came with us from the ghetto.

Yeah, T.D. One thing they had was TV.

You didn't have that? The poor are going to come in here one day.

They don't got you.

They're going to come in here one day and get your ass. You keep poor shaming, motherfucker.

I'm not poor shaming. Yes, you are. And they ain't getting through them gates, man.

I can poor shame him because he's.

Not poor no more. I'm poor, bitch.

I'm here on the couch. I mean, I'm poor, motherfucker. If I wasn't, I'd be in the house just sitting there living life. I got a job still. I mean, I got to get up and work, motherfucker. You think I want to work at Mega 41 after all this shit? If I could stay home, I'd stay home.

No, you wouldn't. You don't want to be home. No, you don't. Too many kids, brother. Yeah, we don't want you.

A little bit of that. You're right. A little bit of that. Yeah, summertime.

No, but he's nice, though. I like him. He has this.

You know, there's just some people that just know how to score.

Right?

No matter how small they are. Like, he's not athletic. He's not that fast. but he knows how to put the ball.

In the basket. Got them big-ass shoulders.

Yeah, even in college, he was just willing his teams.

In moments. A lot of moments.

He had another guard with him, but when it came to just getting it done, and I question, like, okay, maybe he's just a good college player.

You know, one of the Jimmer for debt types. Damn.

Watching him, like, during preseason and watching him just get his shot off the same shot he was getting in college.

I'm like, okay, he can just flat out do it.

Who could you compare him to then, Gil, for me? Are y'all not seeing Steph Marbury?

As I said, Marbury is that smaller.

You said what? Marbury was, like, stronger. He's not as athletic.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

That big, strong ball. Yeah, that's why I said J-Kid a little bit.

He's a strong guard, but he can– because he can shoot the ball– it's going to be hard to guard them.

Yeah, 100%.

With a team like this, to be honest, if we start off the season 0-5, 1-5, I might just do what Houston did to some.

Of my veterans.

What's it do? You mean Utah?

I'm just going to take a break. To who?

You mean Dallas?

The Kings? Yeah.

You mean Dallas?

What damn veterans? Simone is going to take a break. He's trash.

I'm going to be like, hey, hey, do you want to play with a big fella?

They got to play him. No, I don't. They got to keep his value up.

Somebody will take him.

Somebody, yeah. Somebody will take him.

As long as he's healthy. Zach Levine, I'm like, hey, you want to play with Zach Levine?

If that was the case, they would have already got off of him. They've been trying to get off of him.

Yeah. Well, he got paid to win.

If you sitting him, then you killing his value.

I've seen it so much where they're going to that season, and they're sitting there.

For sure the Lakers will take that, man.

They're sitting there like, you know what?

You know what?

Let's just fast forward him right now. Hey, hey, everybody. Y'all done. Y'all done for the season. John Wall.

Hey, John.

That's exactly what's going to happen.

But as I said, John Wall, hey, listen. We don't want you here winning games. We don't want to win games. We just want these guys to play, get this shit out of their system so they can be better next year. As long as you're here, you're going to baby feed these guys. Which someone like John Wall.

Is like, wait, what do you mean? Like, go home. Like, I just had this 20 and 10 last year. I'm ready to do it again. And like, yeah, but.

Oh, with Houston.

Yeah, we need.

I need the ball in his hand. I need him to get these reps in. So we're willing to just pay you the money and you just sit on home. I believe that happened, but it also didn't. They did it with John.

They did. Who was on the team?

The team we're seeing now, that was the Kevin Porter. That was all them.

Young pieces that they was trying to.

Oh, yeah, yeah, that's right. Christian would. Yeah, but it happens like that.

I'm like, who they was like, get the keys, who am I seeing?

It wasn't getting the keys. I just had so many young people. And with him with the ball, he's just going to get it, shoot the top.

You know what I mean? He was a pure point guard. So they was like, well, we need to see if anybody else can do something.

I like they.

So if you're the Kings, how would you build this team around Darius Aker?

I like they three guys.

I actually like the Suns. I like that signing with Ben Simmons next to him.

If you can find a way to play those two together, I think that could become something special. Especially if– I mean, I'm reading reports. They're saying Ben looking like Philly Ben right now. So, if that's the case, I think that could be a hell of a combination.

I would just look around the league at guards that do what he does. You don't need to– Just, okay, he needs, okay, so Steph needs this, this. So you need about two, three shooters with him, a screener, rebounder.

Like, you know what I mean?

I'm going to build a team of guards that put the ball in the basket and go and start it off that way.

And then just taper it a little bit for him. I wouldn't be mad at like a Jalen Brunson type of look. Yeah. As far as how his team goes.

I think if they kind of follow that blueprint and put those longer, lengthier type players behind him. Like I said, a Ben Simmons type. They already got it in a– Who's the three-man? I can't think of the kid's name. They got DeAndre Hunter.

Keegan Murray.

Keegan Murray.

Yeah, I like Murray. He's a 6'8, 6'9.

I like Murray.

Lengthier player.

So you add that behind, I think that's a perfect type of build of team specifically for Acuff. Shit, Jalen Brunson is a good comparison to him. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Same type, same type player. Somebody said he looked like an athletic C.J.

McCullough. C.J. McCullough?

I don't know about that. I don't know about that. I look at the highlights again.

C.J., C.J.

Show us first C.J.

It was cold as fuck.

C.J.

Was shifty as fuck. I didn't really look at C.J. 's game until like last year with the Hawks.

Like all these years you never? All these years. CJ's so cold. You know how you watch him and you see him and then you go through the thing? CJ's so cold, bro.

But just looking at him, just, you know what, let me just look at him. And then just watching he, like, God damn. Like, I knew you was shifty, but I.

Didn't know it was this. Nah, he's cold. While you're older.

Yeah.

Like, ah, man.

Oh, still shifty?

Boogie, Boogie, looking at this Kings roster currently, you got Sabonis, Zach Levine, you got Ben Simmons, Keegan Murray, Malik Monk, DeAndre Hunter.

I'm a fan of him.

DeAndre Hunt is a good build to put beside him as well. I don't think it's a playoff team, but I don't think it's going to be as bad as people. Only reason I think is like on paper, yeah, they have some good talent. The reason I don't think it'll work is because I don't think they're planning for it.

To work, if that makes sense.

I don't think they put this team in place as the final product.

This is what we're rolling out with.

I think Obviously, they're moving in a different direction as far as finding their new foundational piece, and then.

They have to eventually get rid of the old.

So this is more of a– like I said earlier, I don't think this is a situation where a Zach Levine or.

Some– It's too much of the same people, I feel like.

Yeah, they can't sit. Yeah. You have to play those guys, keep their value. I need them to play well, yeah.

As much as you can in return for them to then continue to build around Acuff.

So– They got some players that could go to Miami.

Who?

Zach and Monk. If I'm Miami, I'll try to get one of them.

I like Monk. Yeah. I think Monk can be a spark.

That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. Who's that bucket from Miami like a Monk? Like a come in and.

Hey, man. Get your fucking lips off Miami, bro.

Don't worry about how to fix Miami.

That ain't your fucking problem right now. You don't like them. So don't be trying to fix them right now. You go to Philly.

You stay with Philly. Don't six your mouth to talk about what Miami needs. That's all I'm saying.

Like, don't do that.

I'm going to kill this motherfucker.

All I'm just saying is how you just going to come out the booth and talk about what Miami is. You know what I'm saying? Why you keep trying to give Miami the point guard? He's Miami alone, man. I think he's.

Too expensive for Miami. Elite.

I think he's too expensive. You also have Nick Clifford on that roster, too. I'm a big fan of him. Yeah, he can play as well.

They got some good pieces. It's just getting rid of the old to make it work.

I see that as a young backcourt that you could develop and eventually.

Will somebody take... What do we call it? I think the Knicks could use a Malik Monk.

Yeah, but they got Clarkson already.

I want a Zach Levine. All right, well... We need a Zach Levine. Sufficient Kings discourse. Yeah. Use Zach. Okay, so look. In the NBA, then I see what they're arguing now. Tony Parker was faster than A.I. A.I.

Was quicker than everybody. So they're talking about like straight up speed. It was me, Tony Parker, probably T.J. Ford and then A.I. But as quick, meaning this way.

Right. So A.I. probably didn't T.J. Ford.

I'll say John Wall. I know it's a different era. He was quick as fuck. Like, AI was fast, but his, like, that Derrick Rose shit.

I was about to say, Derrick Rose. It's that, like, they had the combo. Like, I wasn't quick, right, laterally. So, like, me, I'm just a little quick in and out, I'm just gone. AI is coming, then he can shift, shift.

Like, what the fuck was that? You couldn't jerk.

You had no jerking.

When I seen Rose, I didn't know what it was because it was really, really explosive movements.

Quick, fast. What is this?

He was really different. He was crazy. Ren and Jennings was fast.

John Wall, probably one of the fastest human beings. You crazy as fuck.

What? That shit was hard.

Hey, are you low? On the low, low?

You trying to get me?

You got to hate. No, no, no. John Boy's my young boy, but with the knee. We had to race. We had to do laundry. It was just with a bad knee. I don't think people knew how fast. He was smoking. You probably had a good time. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, Gil. I don't think people knew how fast I was. Something the chat. This ain't about you.

That nigga Gil kept something catching.

No, we're talking about fast. I believe. I was a track runner. What you said you were on the track the other day. Yeah, you said you were at 10.3. I ain't never heard of that.

The chat called Cap. The internet was calling Cap on your 10.3.

Cap.

100 meter depth. They said. They Googled it. They said you was never on the track.

Never on the track team at Birmingham or Grand High School.

Trash.

Gilberto Arena.

Little liar.

I know y'all didn't Google it. They called you.

Yeah!

I quit track in 96 when I was watching.

The Olympics because I was 100 in a relay and I was a 400 runner in a four-by relay.

And Obi Moore ran in the Olympics.

And Michael Johnson, gold shoes, and he came in sixth. I asked the track coach, hey, so what do you do now? And he was like, yeah, so another four years before the Olympics.

I was like, he got to be broke for another four more years? Diamond League, yo. I quit track.

Liar, liar, pants on fire.

Quit track.

They told you? Liar, liar, pants on fire.

Oh, you know, me and John, all of our measurements was exactly the same. Arm length, everything.

They caught you.

Jumping ability.

Just keep doubling down.

Which I was... Which I didn't believe. How tall are you? Because he jumped better. How tall are you?

Let it go, brother.

6'2 and a half. Without shoes, 6'4. Hey, brother, let it go. We was the exact same measurements. Let it go, brother.

You saying John was 6'2?

Huh?

You saying John was 6'2? 6'2 and a half, 6'4. Who's saying... Like, our... We came in, he was like.

Because the strength coach was like, yeah.

He was like... Your exact.

Replacement is gone. Rubbing the horn.

He said, your measurements are exactly the same.

Everything. That's sick. And I was like, what?

He was like, jumping. It's like, if we take y'all names off, you wouldn't tell who's who. It was like, you're getting replaced. You had the 40 vert?

No, I had 38.

I think John's was like 38, 39. But a 10-3, 100 meter, Hussein Bolt, Gilbert Arena. He said he had a 40... Do I.

Need to show y'all my rookie? I'm just telling you what the internet was saying. They said Gil never ran a 10.3.

You know what I'm doing?

Because I got the CDs, I'm going.

To show you how fast I was. There was a reason 1-4 flat was a thing. Niggas couldn't catch it.

Hey, man, we just fucking ran. Now they got you.

Why you turning it on me? You can't get me because it was real.

It was real.

It was real. You couldn't catch me, baby. All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. But before we do, shout out to everybody in the chat. Chad, if you have not done so already, you appreciate this show. If you think Gil was capping saying he ran a 10.300 meter dash, hit that like button. Hit that like button if you think Gil was capping. If you think Gil was telling the truth, hit that like button. We're going to see who hits more of that like button.

I was a track runner. I was track before basketball. Who's saying both? I was track in football. And then once.

What was this?

Running back, quarterback. I got my helmet knocked off, so I was not good.

Yo, did you used to walk around with your 49ers helmet? On campus. They say you used to walk around.

I take basketball seriously until 96. And then that summer, I'm gonna just focus on basketball.

Nigga used to save old people, too.

Spider-Man.

You used to be Spider-Man. The neighborhood superhero.

You know what I mean?

All around... Catching criminals, too, huh?

All right, well, blank man. Right? He's going blank, man. You know I called a robber before, too, right? You know about Kimberly Johns? I know the story somewhere on the internet. There's a story on.

The internet where Dan Fagan was talking about me and Jason Richardson when we was doing track workouts at UCLA before the draft where they gave him 100 yards Head start.

I beat the 300. He had the 200. And walk him. So Dan wanted to.

Show the scouts how fast I was and how I can sustain my speed.

So that was the drill we used to do. Bam. Jay Rich a crazy athlete.

Jay Rich a crazy athlete. Well, let's shift over to the Eastern Conference. You ran around the whole track before he ran 100?

No, 300.

So you ran around the whole track before he ran 10 laps, before he ran 10 feet up. Niggas flash out this motherfucker.

Is anybody faster than you? The freeze. I ain't never.

The freeze, man.

The freeze.

I ran around that track two times before.

Let's move over to the Eastern Conference if we can. Yeah, Fox is bad as fuck. Shout out to your Fox.

Knicks are getting set to defend their title for the first time in 53 years, but all may not be well in the Big Apple heading into this season with a few players on the roster looking to get their money right. Among them is Carl Anthony Towns, but the Knicks have not made much progress on his contract extension talks.

Cat has one year left on his deal with a $ 61 million player option. Next summer has been eligible for a four-year $ 276 million extension. But according to reports, the Knicks are offering him a.

Four-year $ 200.

Million extension, which he's not feeling. There is a $ 76 million difference between those numbers. So Cat was asked about the contract situation Monday before the Knicks' first preseason game. and made his frustrations public saying, simply put, I want to do something to keep the team together and can work with the Knicks and also values me. None of those things are close to happening. So none of those things are close to happening. When asked if he should be rewarded for helping the Knicks win the chip, Towns, who's been an All-NBA and back-to-back All-Star in his two seasons.

In New York.

No shit.

No shit, Sherlock. I just won a championship.

You think it was pretty easy unless you guys Think I have something else to prove. You guys referring to the reporters interviewing him. Cat isn't the only one looking for a big payday. Josh Hart and Deuce McBride also extension eligible. Hart has two years left on his deal with the final year being a $ 22 million team option for the 27-28 season. Hart eligible for a four-year $ 131 million deal. Knicks owner James Dolan has said repeatedly that he does not want to go into the second apron.

He would rather live as a broke boy in the Big Apple. But they will surely reach that threshold if Cat decides to opt in next season if an extension cannot be reached. According to Shams, both Cat and Hart could be trade deadline candidates if they can't get extensions done before then. He don't want to spend money. He want to be a broke boy. He ain't doing that.

He's not getting into that second apron. Second apron isn't just the financial situation. It's all the other limitations that that second apron provides in terms of being able to trade players and move players and sign free agents and all those things.

But Boogie, start with you.

Are the Knicks playing with fire here by not extending cap before the season, having him come into the season disgruntled? He was in Philly yesterday rocking Eagles jersey as he tends to do. He's a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Knicks fans aren't particularly fond of that, but. Are they playing with fire? Yes and no.

One, they still got him under contract for another year, so how that year plays out, you don't necessarily know, but I mean, for me, when it came to New York and them finally getting to this place of success. And even the celebration that came behind it, you would feel that celebration was so excessive because it took so long to get to this point. So now that we're finally at this point, it just don't seem as important to them to continue on this path. So it almost seems like they're kind of satisfied with just getting that one little championship and now they're ready to kind of go back to, I would say, becoming a mediocre team again so I think this is more so on James Dolan than anybody else you know within the organization but

it's just kind of mind-blowing to me like you finally get to this you finally get to the mountaintop and then when it's time for everybody to get.

Their flowers it's like nah we good so um.

I can understand cash frustration if there there is any but it's just kind of got to think like what was all this for you know what I mean like What did you do this for?

You know what I mean?

And like you said, haven't won a chip 53 years. We got one now. But winning a chip comes with a lot of bread, too. I think parades, all that stuff, cost a ton of dough. Now trying to resign and keep that core together, that starting unit together. You got Jalen Brunson also eligible for a big extension next season.

Already gave the team a discount. In this economy, Swaggy, what do you think about the Knicks and Cats contract extension situation rolling over into this season? Cats speaking publicly. for the first time about it and showing his frustrations?

Well, I think this is how they make the players look like the bad guy, for sure. Knowing the owners is behind all this. And the way Cat's talking, it could be a distraction, depending on how they are, how him and his teammates are, how they get along. You should pay them. That number is up to you, what you feel like. for Cat, but it should be, what is it, two?

He's eligible for four-year, 276, close to $ 277 million extension.

He has that player option. So the problem is.

Do you need all 270?

He's willing to take a cut.

That's what I'm saying. You can give him two.

But I don't think he's going to give up 76 million. That's the.

This is the same situation with Jalen Dern, the difference between Cat brought a chip.

Even with Dern, it makes sense because you haven't Yeah. Done anything yet. But come up off this $ 87 million, I'm just. So to ask Cat to do that.

You told Dern to come off $ 87, he did. You told Cat, come off $ 76 so we can keep this championship team.

I do like Cat speaking up for himself. Yeah.

I like this version of Cat. I like the confidence. I like him finally really speaking up for himself.

Yeah, I think I started this.

Yeah, buddy ain't taking shit from nobody, even the Knicks.

When he had the courage to stand up to me, that's what it was. I should have whooped his ass and then he would be regular Cat's.

He would have just took the four-year 200? Yeah, but you know. Got to put the paws on you, bro. Nah, but he deserve it. He do deserve something. I don't know if he want to get the 270. I think more about 240. Yeah, 230.

230.

Yeah.

But this could be a distraction.

Still a lot, yeah.

Could be like he's sounding like he bruxing out this motherfucker. Some people could take it like that, but. He had a major role in this championship. All the stuff they was talking about Towns, even myself, you know, playing around, messing with him. He do deserve to get his money. Yeah, I see the way you're sipping that water.

Huh? Huh? What's up? Reality's hitting again.

Is that another reality check for everyone out there?

What reality check?

I thought when you win a championship and you sacrifice, they gonna pay you. How many times have I been screaming, they don't give a fuck, okay? This is a business for them. So you win a championship, the people who win a championship, they all think they're gonna get their money because they.

Sacrificed for the team.

And they keep showing you over and over, year after year, this is a business. Your championship as a second option is irrelevant to them.

For the team, yes. For this paper, no.

You want 270 because that's the star.

Player number for you.

Well, you're not the star player anymore on this team, so we think you're going to get 200. That's what he's not realizing. You, Carl Anthony, is worth 270, but you had to downgrade your ability to win a championship and they're using that in negotiation.

They're not going to go over that number.

So you lose when you win. Every single time. So he won a championship. They want to win another one. Why he's not? Hell yeah, I won a championship. Let me sacrifice this 76 million. We got the whole fucking internet saying, I would rather take $ 50 million in the seven rings than 300 million. Obviously, you have a guy who just won a championship and you got 200.

You want your 276.

OKC payday people.

You want your 276.

Boston payday people out there. Like, Warriors paid their people after. Brown got $ 200. Chase Tandem got $ 300. They paid K. Did they pay that when they won a championship? Did they win a championship and pay? Shea, J-Dub, and Chet after. They paid fucking Brown with Denver.

You paid? Joker. So you paid the second half?

Another team paid Brown. No, Brown, I'm talking about for Denver Nuggets.

Bruce Brown.

No, the other, the white Brown.

Oh, Brown. Brown. Brown. That's Brown.

It's spelled Brown.

That wasn't out of the championship. Those people left and he's doing his numbers and they paid him. How many people left?

Brown got paid on a rookie scale though.

Yeah.

That was his rookie. This is real time.

People are up 5 for 125.

That's a rookie. But I'm saying this is people up right after the championship. We're talking about the star. The star player. He's up right now to get his money. We just won a championship. We did our thing. We're celebrating. Where's the paper?

And the reason a lot of the Warriors players got paid was because of Steph's bad contract.

Yep.

But I'm just saying some people do get paid, though.

Who?

I gave you Chet, I gave you J-Dub, I gave you Brown and Taylor. When Chet and Dub, they all work in controversy. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. All I do is got to extend them. That don't hit me against the bank. What I'm saying is it don't hit us. What I'm saying is I save money by extending. So when you're talking, these are not rookies. He has to sign a deal.

Do they have to pay him?

Who? After they win. I thought I won. But do you have to pay J-Dub or Chet?

Yes, I sign you. I get you cheaper. We're talking a rookie extension. Yes.

If they waited this year, them deals is bigger. That's a different situation, though.

The Thunder have obviously done a great job finessing through the draft, building assets. And have a lot of guys on rookie deals. They did have to make some tough choices. When did Jalen Brown sign that deal? Jalen Brown signed it before Tatum, right? A year before Tatum? So before the championship. Let's see.

Did they sign those before they won the championship?

Nah.

I think Brown signed his the year before Tatum signed his.

Let me double check. So Brown signed his July 2023. Yes. When did it win?

24.

Yeah.

And then Tatum signed his that summer, which made that whole Olympic benching even.

So Tatum got up. I mean, Tatum's going to get his max. And they got rid of the guy there? No.

That's for different reasons, though.

Nick's in a different situation, though, because they've obviously put way more bread up for their starting five OG. And you got Cat, who's They're your highest-paid player on the team right now, making 15 mil more than O.J. Ananobi, who's the second-highest-paid player.

Do you want Cat to continue to be in the highest place?

I want a championship, man. Like, does the championship matter? If you want that to be Brunson, I want it to matter.

Yeah, I would want that to be Brunson.

I get what you want, but, again, you're talking about a guy, if he was on any other team, he's.

Getting— Are you willing to get rid of Hart to keep Cat? Brunson ain't going to allow that. that. But that's.

It depends.

If I'm on another team, I'm 55. Those two are more important than Cat for the Knicks. Obviously, your three cornerstones are Brunson, OG, Cat.

Yeah, they are. So the other two are more important? To Brunson. To Brunson.

If I want to make my Brunson happy, I will.

Make my Brunson happy.

That's crazy. Yeah, that's just because.

Well, how much did they give up the trade for Cat?

Julius Randle.

Somebody didn't like him. Did they not add picks to it? Were picks involved or what?

Julius Randle. Let me see what they. Da Vinci. DiVincenzo.

DiVincenzo, yeah. Da Vinci.

Da Vinci, I hear treatment.

You just think that, like, I'm going to pay to repeat. But for some reason, they're always thinking about their dollar, of course. Because it's their business. And then what ends up happening is. Yeah, and that was like a– See, and this is what's about to happen.

Everybody's going to look at Cat, right? Bridges ain't going nowhere.

You better play your heart out. Everybody's going to buy picks. Bro, I will never understand value in the NBA, bro. The all-star gets traded for one pick. The role player gets traded for five.

And Bridges signed four-year 150 with the Knicks.

Oh, yeah.

What the fuck?

After they traded their picks, they gave.

Them home picks?

Yeah, four unprotected first-round picks and a protected 20-25 first-rounder. What the fuck? And a 20-28 pick spot. But Mikael Bridges availability.

No, I get it. He not missing games.

Man.

I'm here.

Explain that one. Explain that one since you want to.

There was no championship.

No, Mikael Bridges corner for All-Star. I just said, this man just won a championship. Y'all running around here saying it's important and everybody wanted it. Everybody was sacrificing money.

In real time, right now, in front of y'all face, he has a problem with the $ 76 million.

That you're not giving him.

So when you sit here and tell that bullshit to these fans talking about, I will take the.

The $ 50 million and seven rings over $ 300 million. Niggas, stop lying to these people. No, Jordan did it. No, he didn't. No, he didn't. That's why they fell out. No, he did not take no pay cut.

Why did they fall out?

Who?

Pippen and the Jordan. Pippen and the Bulls and their owner.

They cheated Pippen out of his money. That's what happened.

It's been happening for years. That's all I'm saying.

Exactly. No one's taking a paper.

What I'm saying.

Is you're running around pretending to everyone that you.

Because it's imaginary. It's not in real time.

I'll take the 50 million and seven rings and instead of 300 million, you have a guy who has the ring. He sacrificed to get the ring. It's 200 or 275. I want my 275. I don't want this fucking 200. He won't even sacrifice 75 million for the ring.

That's the way they value you.

He won't sacrifice the potential of another one.

I want my 275 because that's what I'm worth. Because I sacrificed. I did what y'all told me to do. And that's what you're not realizing. You're telling these people sacrifice for the better good.

They do. You don't reward them. History don't reward them.

All second options are not rewarded for what they're doing.

You can't get 275. You can get 240. I got to keep my same team. You don't want to sacrifice again. I got to pay hard.

When does the team sacrifice?

Man, you got the money.

If we all in this shit together, why is it just on the players and sacrifice? But if you ain't got no money to pay people.

We're talking about James Dolan, brother. We talking about New York City.

What the fuck you mean? You don't know how what?

You don't know how they do their money?

I do. Why is it always on the players?

Everybody's bought in to win the championship. Why is it just on the players to sacrifice?

They better do something. That's what you're taught.

They better do something. That's what we've been taught.

That ain't got nothing to do with what we're saying. It is. Towns, don't play. Set an example.

Don't play. You're not even listening. Make them pay you.

Stand up for yourself. If you want to get paid, stand up, motherfucker, for yourself. I bet he won't miss no games. So that's how the owners keep getting motherfuckers, yeah.

My thing is, hey, it's 200. You did it. You're 200.

You're going to try to win another one.

They can keep bringing people in.

So you're telling people what? What are you telling people?

I'm telling people that people who are pushing sacrifice for championships, they're doing that because we're brought up.

Because that's what is being pushed.

Winning, winning, winning.

And our legacies is built on winning, winning, winning.

That's what our legacies is built on. But at the end of the day, there's only one side that actually wants to win.

It's the players. That's facts.

It's the players that actually want to win. The people who make the decision, those are businessmen. They have to pretend. They don't care about winning because there's no backlash. So no one's going to look at Dolan and say, give him the money. He won a championship. They're going to look at Cat and say, fuck, we're trying to win another one, you greedy motherfucker. See yourself. That's all they're going to do.

That's what I said. They making Cat look like the bad guy.

They made us all. We're all the bad guy.

When you talk about a player talking about he ain't a fucking winner, he didn't do this.

The kid just got to Sacramento, right? He's a winner, right?

Right.

We know he's a winner. He's going to lose for the next five years. And there's going to be somebody saying, he can't even bring Sacramento and win no championship.

He can't even take them to the playoffs.

You know the fuck that organization don't want to do that. There's five teams in the NBA that actually want to win championships.

Boy, you popping. All right, so is that the case? This is all facts.

That's all facts. So is that the case?

How can you tell his love for the game isn't the same as somebody else's?

It always comes back to that, Laser John. Throw the glasses on.

If you can't win, but you're still going out there trying. Every day.

So, who loves the game more than? The one championship. I agree on that, dude. You hit it on the head, man.

It's all right, man. I know this.

I don't even know. You don't even know what you're talking about.

It's coming from a hurt place.

You don't even know what you're talking about.

Everybody's a winner that make it. But the goal is to win a championship.

For who? For us, yes. That's what we've been training since we were little. That's not what the organization is trying to do.

That's what he's trying to say. That's why you play. You want to win.

So you think Sacramento wants to win a championship, an NBA championship?

I'm just saying, you play to win.

You don't work to just play, though. You work to get paid.

What year do you think the Bobcats will win?

You want to get paid. Let me ask you a question.

But everybody wants to win. Let's stop acting like we don't want to win a championship. Let me ask you a question.

Everybody want to get paid. Okay. But everybody want to win too.

Listen to what we're saying.

When do you think the organization of Charlotte Bobcats is going to win a championship? Which means every player that goes through this. that gets drafted, everybody who gets drafted for the next 10, 15, 30, 40 years are going to be considered losers because the organization Don't have no interest in winning because they can't pay three people $ 200.

Million, $ 200 million, $ 200.

Million because their market doesn't allow it.

You got to pay to win.

But if you obsess with the game, you will be the greatest.

When does a businessman obsess with the game? Where the fuck do they give a fuck?

I'm talking about when the player, when you like overly obsess and you watch film and no matter what, if you put in the time, you will eventually be great. Like you'll win a championship.

How?

So basically, every loser in... So everybody who played for... Everybody who played for the.

Who? Kevin Gar... Oh, he played with him. He played with him. What he's saying means nothing.

But he won, too, though.

It wasn't in Minnesota. He had to go leave. He left his team.

To go to Boston. An organization that has chairs. Because I had to leave a team. So you see what you're saying. Now you're about to cut your dick yourself.

No, I'm not. And this is what I said.

If you're stuck in a city that's not Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, New York or Golden State, now Golden State, back then Chicago. If you wasn't in those cities that brung in players to help that star win, these players left to go get championships. Today, LeBron James and all, I'm like, well, my owner don't want to bring nobody here.

Let me go to Miami and team up and win. KG was number one. He left, bro. He was number one in the West. He was.

And the MVP. And went to the Western Cup of Finals.

Like... It don't matter.

He took a team there.

That's what I'm saying.

Don't even know what you're arguing about when you're arguing against yourself.

No, I'm not.

You're saying the owners won't.

Let you win. No, they have to play a part in the winning. It just can't be the players. Just listen.

If I'm a star player and I want him as my big man, and.

I say, bring me DeMarcus. We already made a deal. We want to play.

My owner says, I don't want to pay him. I don't want to pay him.

We're good. I know I can't win with him. They write the check. I don't write the check. I don't write the check.

Now and today, everybody's chasing three people who didn't have to leave nowhere. Most of your real champions didn't have to leave because the organization wanted to win. So the players today who got in situations that the owners are not actually trying to win, when they leave, the media now penalize them for chasing a championship.

So now you get slapped both ways.

Them years Golden State won, man, they was so high over the cap, bro.

You know that. Because the owner paid for the winner. He paid for the championship. When Boston won that championship, do you know how much money they made? It's public record. Zero. They broke dead even. Right.

Because how much they have to spend. That's the thing for all you guys. Championships cost a gang of bread. You have to spend to win. And not even just contract related. So if we can get to the finals, I can still raise these ticket prices. I don't got to worry about throwing a parade.

I said, the owner told me, he said, if you have a team for 10 years.

There's been one team to win on the budget. Spurs. Who's that? Maybe, but I was going to say the Oakland A's. Money boys.

Yeah, the owner said, the owner said, if you have a team for 10 years, you win five championships, you make 200 million profit.

Or you win no championships, make 2 billion profit. Which one do you take? Right.

I'm a winner, so I want the $ 200 million. And this is the part that you ain't understanding.

When it comes to James Dolan, his legacy ain't determined by the championships of the Knicks.

I'm not talking about that.

But you're a player. You're playing there. If they're in control, you're playing there. Just hear me out.

I'm talking about the contradiction of love, too. You contradict yourself. I don't contradict myself. I know what I'm talking about. So how can you have, how can you keep going forward if they bringing you down though? Like you talking about your greatness, no love for the game or session, but get you over the hump and make you a Kobe.

You pointed to Kobe's and Jordan and all that. But now you're talking about owners bringing your success down.

Where did Kobe and Jordan play? He's stupid, man.

I'm just saying.

I'm just saying.

Which one is it? There's no which one is it. You were talking about individual players. So someone like a Westwood.

Charlotte don't operate the same way the Lakers do, and you fucking know that. But if there's a player in Charlotte that works his ass off.

And he's averaging 30 points a game, and you talk about, oh, he's a loser.

Oh, he doesn't love the game.

Get the fuck out of here.

Nobody called AI a loser.

So what are we talking about? I never called AI a loser.

No, you pick it. Y'all, we pick and choose who we want to call a loser. No. Yeah, we do.

No, I said your greatness is supposed to get you out the first round. That's what I said. Now we're going back to T-Mac. They don't got shit to do. Everybody you talk about, KG, his greatness got him out the first round no matter what the fuck y'all talk about. Owners and everything. Got him out the first round.

Who was on his team? Who was on their team?

Name him.

You name him. You name him. I don't know KG.

So you don't know shit what you're talking about?

Who was on his team? You brought Minnesota up like it's a bad fucking situation.

How many times did Kevin Garnett lose in the first fucking round?

Eight straight times. Was he a loser?

Fuck no.

He broke it every night.

Did he get over it?

Every night.

Did he get out the first round?

Yes, because they broke more players.

All right, that's what I'm saying.

Goddamn.

AI.

Broke more players, man. No, no, no, no.

He lost eight straight times in the first fucking round.

Jason Key.

Sam Cassell came over there. Sprewell came over there. Then they got out of the hump. What are you talking about?

Let's stop.

Oh, yes. Let's stop.

No.

Man, know your fucking history of basketball.

Cleveland.

Cleveland. Lost the last ball. How many years did he lose? Seven straight. How many lose in the first round? Seven straight seasons losing in the first round. Nobody questioned his work ethic.

Did he get out the first round?

Who helped him get out the first round? It wasn't just him.

They brung people like we need to keep working it and twerking it and twerking it for him.

Who was on his team?

They brought in Sam Cassel for the first time. He made the All-Star game at the age of what? Damn near 31, 34?

Wally Zerbiak came, Sprewell came.

They did have Sprewell. Yeah, his team got older. And then they boomed. They got out. The people champ, Mad Dog Madsen as well. What are they talking about, man? Wally Zerbiak was an All-Star.

I'm just naming all these people.

You're naming them. Wally Zerbiak was an All-Star. I named Brun.

I named Brun and his team.

Why did he leave?

He won, though.

He got out.

Why did he leave?

He wasn't winning. They're calling him loser. He's supposed to be the next Michael Jordan.

And he's trying to bring players over here to win, and they wouldn't get him.

So he left. Y'all say winning champions is all the champions that left.

Yes, when you're talking about that upper echelon, yes.

Yes. And then everybody else is losing. You're not a loser.

No, you made it. You won. But you can't be in that category, no matter what you say. But nobody's in that category. That's what we're talking about. See, that's the fucking problem.

The categories is superstars that win championships first.

Under them are superstars. You roll niggas is somewhere back here.

Why are we in this conversation?

Because y'all the ones doing all the motherfucking talking. No, we're not. Yes, you did. Yes, it is. Nobody talks about it. Your feelings is hurt. You don't need to be talking about it.

Your feelings is hurt.

What I'm saying is, y'all the main niggas pop that championship shit.

I can talk about T-Mac. Again, that's the problem.

I can. The problem is regular championships. If T-Mac was on the same floor as me, I'd bust T-Mac's ass.

I could talk. I don't give a fuck.

You're telling me I can't talk. That's crazy as shit. That's crazy as fuck.

See, that's your problem.

I'm telling what I see.

There's levels to this. There's superstars.

There's superstars that won championships.

Superstars that won championships. Under that are superstars. Superstars that won.

The only thing that goes above AI, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone is the ones who won the championship.

Not second option. Pippen won six rings.

He is not in history over Karl Malone, over Patrick Ewing.

He's not over them guys. To who?

To history.

There's a list. There's history. There's lists all the time.

We're talking opinions. Huh? We're talking opinions now.

No, that's not an opinion.

In my mind, I could have DeMarcus over somebody.

Top 75 is not an opinion.

You can argue me that down.

Top 75 is not an opinion. I would love to hear this.

It was before he won three championships. I mean three MVPs. Who are you going to hand me over? It was before he won three MVPs. Who? It was before he won three MVPs.

I'm saying, who are you talking about? Joker. I'm saying, is Top 75 an opinion, or is that actually?

It was in the beginning stage.

Is that a thing? Is that a thing?

I had you up there in the beginning.

I ain't going to lie. You're my nigga.

You know I got to have you my nigga. I got to have you up there. I was fine for you.

Appreciate that, bro.

I was fine for you. I was fine for you. I didn't want to do you like that.

That's why I said it.

Oh, OK.

I guess, I guess, I guess.

You're like that, too, until Steph start winning.

That's why I'm saying that.
