13 seconds. I'm always watching.
You, Travis.
Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the 725th episode of the Geek Frist Podcast. I'm the caretaker, Travis Snell. I'm joined by....
I'm the D of draftees, Taylor Field.
You see, so I've been on a little journey doing some investigating, looking into that. If you have noticed, and Travis told you, there's been people in the chat, somebody, whoever this is, that's probably part.
Of the podcast. I know part of the podcast because somebody on the stream revealed doing this to me. I've been ignoring it. I'm like, maybe if I just ignore this, this will go away.
Um today i do gotta call you out i don't you know i've said this before i don't think it's you that's my latest attacker but before and dylan can attribute before we got on air you're like oh look at my new voice changer thing it's almost like so you do that and then all of a sudden this pan solo clip plays which clearly the voice has changed obviously the viewers didn't see that but you're you're playing this clip that feels very you're like it's almost like you're putting it in front of my face like oh look at me look i got a cool voice changer and then There's a Pantsoul video with a voice changer.
What's going on, Taylor?
Yeah, but do you remember when you were attacked and I was on stream live? I couldn't have been. I'm not him. I was on the camera here live. People were watching and you were attacked.
I don't want to feel like this going into Extra Life because we've got a band together.
We're going to talk about it.
Because the man down below, we've got to stop this man. He's like Thanos looking for the sixth gemstone over here.
But how many killers are there in most Scream movies, Taylor?
I mean, there's been known to be at least two.
So I'm just saying, is it not impossible? You could be sitting from your chair watching me get attacked and there's not a Rubon or a Madison or one of your brothers.
If Madison is not attacking you instead of, you know, 10 of the kids, we got a bigger problem. I got a bigger problem on my hands.
I have video footage of Madison. Madison in the ladder match attacked me once. She has attacked me before. That's true.
I remember that.
Yeah.
So it's not.
All bets are off. That was during a refereed match.
All right. We'll talk. We'll talk. But yeah, I don't know what this is. I'm ignoring this.
I'm leaving this on the wayside. Please leave me alone. I'm moving on. I got other things to focus on, like Extra Life, like this episode, 725.
I apologize. I did promote as a GV4, and Kirkland's like, oh, I double booked myself.
Even though I feel like we talked. And Taylor even asked me this. She goes, Kirkland, on this cast, I'm like, why wouldn't he be? It's almost like you had sensed it last night when you did a weekly geek with him.
You just know what Kirkland is.
He's like, I'm not going to be on it.
You just sense it. Like last time when we had to film, I looked him right in the face. I'm like, Oh, what'd you do next Friday? Oh, nothing. I'm all good. And then two days later, like, Oh, you know, Shay has some plans. It's like, just tell me he doesn't.
Have something in the air when he's about to get a migraine. You just know it.
Yeah. It's like, it's like when.
He's about to say he's getting a migraine.
Yeah.
When Kirk goes about to lie to you, does he even have the old days when he was going to be a cast? It's like, that's the only time we have Spidey sense.
It's like, you feel it. It's like, Oh, Kirkland's about to lie.
And it's like, he's the Elizabeth Holmes of a hundred percent.
We're going to talk about that a hundred percent. Just stop lying. Just tell us it's fine. Hey, I don't know if I'm going to make Friday. Okay. He, you know what? He just does this folks.
I think we tell them sometimes on air and off air. It's because the thing's usually scheduled for a while and then he'll be like, I'm good.
And then that's where it's like all day of, Oh, I'm not going to make it.
But I mean, here's the thing. I've, I've been the most absent lately, but I am. I'll at least like tell you well in advance. I'm not going to be on that. I'm not going to be there.
Yeah. Like you told me I'll be on this newscast.
Like, great.
Okay.
So, uh, but yeah, we're doing like a, I'll say mini cast, but like, you know us, but, uh, we had some patron questions. We'll talk a little bit. We're going to go over our draft results because we got only two months left. And I was like, Oh, I should tell them, look at them. There's a lot that are super close. That's why I want to throw these out for it. We've got the last two months coming up.
We're going to give our full extra life schedule. And then we're going to do, and I'll explain this, because I got pushback from Taylor, and then I got pushback from Dylan. And we can talk about this live on air. The What We've Been Watching section. I pitched this. This is how it started this morning, because this is the.
First time ever.
As we said, Vision Quest reviews until the finale. We're just going to do a mini 10 to 15-minute review. So I said to Taylor, I said, hey, we're going to do the What We've Been Watching.
First, I stuck Kirk in there.
We do the What We've Been Watching. And then Kirkland can go. And then, Taylor, can you wait like 10, 15 minutes? You know, me and Dylan will do... You can see everything. Then you come back to your vision quest. He had no fucking clue what I was talking about. So I sent him in a voice text, the same pitch.
Not a voice... A whole voice recording. Still no idea what I'm talking about. So I'm like, okay, whatever.
And I start talking about this thing. And then Dylan goes, oh, I can talk about it. You can see everything for a while. So I thought, oh, well, maybe we switch it. Maybe, Dylan, maybe you just sit up for 10 to 15 minutes. And then I just texted, hey, just come right back in.
And Taylor, I'll leave. And Dylan's like, oh, so... Are we doing this at the beginning? When are we doing this? So I don't know where my loss in translation is. Maybe I'm just tired.
I did not have time to read your full message.
See? And this is the thing. That's why I sent Taylor a voice because I know he's not reading it. I know he's half reading it.
Oh, I'm reading it.
I just don't understand what you're going on about.
Let me go back to this message.
The idea was the same old what we've been watching. And usually most of the time it would just be, let's say, Vision Quest, right? So easily Kirkland and Dylan could bounce because they're not going to talk about it. And that's how we end the episode. But in this situation, I had a thing where, okay, well, there's a thing that Dylan can talk about and a thing that Taylor can talk about, both with spoilers. So how do we do that? So I was trying to pitch, hey, if someone has, like, some.
Dishes to do, Taylor, you're eating at nighttime, if you want to grab a quick bite for 10, 15 minutes, come back.
Yeah, is there something you could do for 10, 15 minutes and then we'll be watching so Dylan and I can talk spoilers for you can see everything. Then you come back for Vision Quest.
And then I'm thinking.
But if we're doing it at the beginning, why don't I just come at 8.15 then?
But we haven't done what we've been watching in the beginning for quite a while. You know why?
Because I think we've realized that– I think– which we'll talk to you about your bidding and cast. Don't get me started on that. But because sometimes– I think it's better we do that at the– because sometimes if we go on for a while with the news and then we do what we've been watching, it's like, oh, man, we've made a mega episode now. Where at least at the end, I feel like we kind of know like, okay– There's been a long episode. Maybe I'll like quickly talk about some things. Or if you've got to fill time, that's where it's good. Like let's say we're doing a newscast and it's only been 40 minutes and you hit what we've been watching.
It's okay.
Here's some time to shoot the shit. You know, talk about urinals. My God, what was going on yesterday? An episode of Taylor yesterday.
It was icebreaker.
I do it at the end. Literally, these guys had a huge topic list. So much stuff. Dune 3, Marvel News.
It's a clean hour 38 minute cast.
There's other stuff in there. And then I also said like, hey, right up top, make sure you hit the Extra Life stuff. Get Kirkland's answer about Call of Duty.
He was smiling at me.
Oh, and I tune in. I'm at the gin.
I tune in 22 minutes later because I messaged them on Facebook. Make sure to tell them about Extra Life.
Not seen at all.
So I know they're ignoring me. I know they're not looking at it. So I'm like, okay, let me tune this cast. I'm scrolling through 22 minutes. It's like, okay, so do you pee? When you pee, do you take your pants down?
Do the zipper? There's a Dune 3, the final Dune 3 trailer is out. Talk about after. We've even said we'll probably do more newscasts next year because people have been enjoying them.
There's a lot of themes of urine though in Dune, right? Because they like pee into their suit and then like recirculate it. So I think it's topical.
But he didn't like, oh, speaking of doing, he's just like, hey, I got these questions for you, Kirkland. And they're all about peeing and whatnot. And again, very fun.
But I was like, should we start off the cast like that for 25 minutes, you know? And it's okay. And in the future, if there's less topics, I understand. But that's where I was taken aback.
So we can figure out when we get to the what we've been watching section, see what's happening. with all our lives and everything.
So I was pitching that Dylan, maybe you leave first for 10 to 15. Cause I feel like you can see we'll be longer than vision quest.
I don't know. You go on and say, you could talk about for two hours.
I'm not saying it's true. I, if I had any time in the last three days, since I've seen the movie, I was going to do a solo episode and I just haven't had that. So now I'm ready to blast. I'm like, I'm going to be like a fire hose, Travis. I've got, I got notes to share on this movie.
Okay.
You can go back to white spot and get another burger in time and then, you know, get here.
Yeah. Or triple O's, triple O's, not whites. I think the same thing.
That would take more than 10, 15 minutes as we established, though, because they took forever.
I'd just be sitting here. So, yeah, we're going to start with a fun one. And, Taylor, we're going to start with this. Dylan, you weren't here for the last God game. Superbad Mike, he does these games.
It's been a minute since I've been on a God game, I think.
Yeah, and he hasn't sent one.
I haven't been playing God lately.
He went through a lot of them.
The last one he sent us was this thing of pairing characters together for Doomsday. and it was a thing where I would pick a character, I'd pick a duo, Kirkland would pick a duo, Tara would pick a duo, and we'd make this master list of 12, and then eventually we had to get lots of screen times, minimal screen time, or kill them off. You could go back and listen to it as the last and first one.
Kirkland and Tara had such a hard time understanding this concept that I thought Mike explained very easily. I even sent it to them so they could read it. It wasn't a Travis error either. I'm like, here it is.
You can read it. And it was to the point where Mike was, I think, worried to send this. He's like, should I send another God game Because it's going to hurt these people's minds. But luckily Dylan's here. Taylor already looked scared when I sent him the list. But Mike, it is not a you issue.
I pre-game for this.
It is not a you issue.
It is definitely.
The God games are getting longer. I mean, can we all admit that? In terms of raw text, number, letter count.
Sure.
They're getting longer.
I like that though, because then it's like.
It was well laid out. Like it was, it was formatted nicely. Thankfully it wasn't just like a wall of text.
Yes.
That's why I just do the screenshot. So what I'll do to make it copacetic and easier is. I'm going to screen share it. So then you have it right there to look at.
No excuses, Taylor.
No excuses. It's right there. There's our Patreon.
Look, tons of stuff in the right left corner where we are. That QR code goes to... How did you not answer that yesterday? What's this QR code for?
I was trolling him. I knew what it was.
Yeah. All right.
Okay.
Mike Sens. Time for a Halloween God game. This scenario is for each of you, not as a group. See, he specified. No more group God games. He knew you guys... screwed that up.
You're being attacked by seven horror movie icons. Jason Voorhees, Freddy Cougar, Michael Myers, Art the Clown, Xenomorph, Nosferatu, and Frankenstein's Monster from 2025. So the Jacob Elordi one specifically. Use your god powers to turn three of them to your side and hopefully survive the night.
Who will you choose? You can also choose.
One of these three options for additional help. Home Alone traps designed by Jigsaw, the suit from Invisible Man, the classic shotgun and chainbow.
And chainsaw combo. The chainbow, as they call it.
The chainbow.
Yeah, the chainbow. So... Who wants to start the bidding first?
I need some info on Art the Clown. I don't know anything about this guy.
Okay, so in the first movie, he's a guy that's heavily torture porn. He's going after lots of innocent people in the streets.
He's always into cutting. He has little weapons and whatnot. But then they do eventually reveal that he's supernatural. So he has a human body form, but he can be killed and come back.
He's, I'd say, tough to kill. But he's maybe, he's not brute force. He's more of a, just stab lots of guys. He wouldn't rip you in half. So he operates like a regular human, but he has supernatural elements to him.
Right. And we only have to survive the night here. So if you kill one of these guys, like all these guys, you kind of kill them multiple times, they keep coming back, right? That's kind of the thing with horror movies. Guys like this. But that's not the case here. Thankfully, he set it up. You only have to survive the night.
Or I guess that's... Use your goblins to turn three of them to your side and hopefully survive the night.
Yeah, hopefully. I guess this is our best chance.
So to me, the win condition is you make it to like 7 a.m. and then you're good to go. That's how I'm reading this.
Yeah, 7 to 7.
I mean, I feel like you... This is my list. I get to take three of them. I feel like Xenomorph has to be on there. I feel like Xenomorph is the most physically powerful of all of these. Of course, some of these guys... Freddy Krueger, that was a weird one with things like this, right? Because he like, like haunts your dreams or whatever. It's like, I don't know what that really means. Like if I just stay awake, am I fine? Like, I don't know. I haven't seen enough.
So that I, that I can do. I've done a 24 hour stream. I can stay, I can stay awake all night. Sometimes it's hard, but if I, if I have adrenaline pumping through me, cause you know, I got a xenomorph next to me and Freddy Krueger after me, there's no chance I'm falling asleep.
I'll give you one asterisk that often happens in the movies. If you get knocked unconscious, though, same thing. It doesn't have to just be sleep. So let's say you take a bad fall. You get knocked out. Freddy's waiting for you.
I mean, if I get knocked out by any of these guys, I'm dead, right?
What if you just fall? What if you're in a shaft? You're hiding.
You said I'm unconscious.
But I mean, like, they don't know where you are maybe right away, right? What if you're hiding and then you fall?
You think that if you get knocked unconscious against any of these guys, you could somehow not die?
Um, maybe Michael and Jason.
If you're unconscious, that's a lose. That's an instant lose.
I mean, in a situation where Michael and Jason might not be able to find you, right?
Like, if you're hidden well. And the other thing is, though, you have the other characters protecting you. So what if you're knocked out and they're fighting the Waffle?
I'm not scared of Freddy for one night.
Okay.
I'm not scared of Freddy. I'll take the Xenomorph. Clearly the most powerful physically.
Yeah.
And what's the xenomorph's biggest weakness? I think fire, right? I don't see any of these. None of these guys have fire, right?
No.
Art the Clown has like a lighter with like, but not like, like an axe body spray thing, but not like.
Okay. I'm not afraid of axe body spray. I feel like Nosferatu seems like a pretty strong guy, I would say. Yeah.
Yeah.
So Xeno's a lock for you, right?
Xenomorph is clearly a lock.
Okay, write these down for yourself because Mike does have a second part of this game.
Oh, God.
And then I'll take... This is Frankenstein's monster from... What the hell was that movie called?
Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein.
It was called Frankenstein?
Yeah, it was. I think it was called Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein.
I could not remember. That was actually what the movie was called. It's the most simple name, though. I'll grab Nosferatu. I can't remember exactly his skill set, but I feel like he's got some juice going on there.
He's got the big schlong.
He's got the big schlong. That's what I'm all about. We've got to have someone with a big schlong on the team, right?
Now we have to think about, are these guys just going to help you... easily or are you going to deal with their shit right like is he going to be.
Like my one true love is out there.
Like like he's like looking for lily rose debt while he's trying to protect you like that's what i'm wondering about right.
It says to to your side and what is your side your side is surviving the night so.
Yeah i feel like i've like not mind controlling i'm not choosing their actions like an rts but i think that they are there for for this 24 hour period or whatever it is they are working in my best interest most uh just want to clarify preserving like heck I could ride one of these xenomorphs none of these guys are going to catch up if I'm riding a xenomorph and I'll ride that xenomorph you watch number three I got Jacob Elordi he's pretty strong Michael Myers Voorhees I always mix these two up.
Myers' babysitter mask Jason's hockey mask.
I think Myers has more is more like supernaturally powerful right.
It depends on the timeline. Each of them have timelines where they're regular dudes, and each of them have timelines where they're brought back by lightning. They have a curse. They both have supernatural elements.
I'm going to go with Xenomorph, Nosferatu, and Michael Myers for my team. Invisible Man, it's been a while. Is there a downside to me wearing this suit?
I think it's just like if it gets hit. But I feel like if it takes damage, it starts to break, right? So let's say you get hit once. I feel like it's starting to work.
Again, if I get hit once in this scenario, I'm dead.
That is true.
And shotgun chainsaw, I don't want to fight these things. I'm going to get my boys to do the fighting for me. So I'll take the invisible. As much as I'd love to take home loan traps designed by Jigsaw just to see... what that's like, I'm going to go with the Invisible Man suit. I think, again, I only need to survive one night, and that is the best way to do that. I don't need any kills on these guys. I just need to not die.
Yeah.
Okay, so you're going up against Jason, Freddy, Art, and Jacob Elordi. Those are the four.
And Jacob Elordi, yeah.
And you're going with the Invisible Suit. Yeah, I don't think any of them are too.
Smart, per se. They honestly have no chance.
Yeah, because I feel like the Xenomorph's the only one that would counter the visible suit, maybe, right? I don't know, but I just feel like it has some sort of, like, sense or sight where it's like.
Oh, I know who's there.
Maybe not. I guess that's kind of like the Predator's thing, isn't it?
Yeah, I guess so.
Either way, it can't hurt.
It wouldn't hurt. Yeah, it can't hurt, yeah. All right, Taylor, what do you got?
Um.
I was just thinking about that. That was actually a really good question, Dylan, because the Predator cloaking and the aliens seeing it. I'm pretty sure that in the first AVP movie, the Predator is cloaked. Yeah, because you can see the alien tail behind and the alien stabs it. So the aliens can actually go through and see the cloaking.
We've seen that on screen, so they know.
Which is good, though, because it's on Dylan's team. So either way, he's covered.
Dylan's team, yeah.
Exactly.
Right out of the gate, I like your picture, Dylan. You've got to take the xenomorph because it's... aside from it being able to know where things are, it has like a sixth, seventh, eighth sense. And it's going to be fiercely loyal. It's going to be with you at all times, protect you. It's got super strength, you know, like claws, everything. It's got the acid blood. So if it gets killed, the acid blood is going to go on whatever it is that it's fighting. It's taken it down.
Damn.
But if I'm near it and I might, you know, that's true. Get a little stray, a little stray acid blood on me.
That could be conscientious, conscientious of where, uh, where you're lurking.
But you could be when you run away from Art, Freddy, Jason, Frankenstein, you know. Yeah.
I mean, I'm just rocking the invisible suit and I'm just like hiding under the desk. Like I'm not, I'm not in the fray at all.
The invisible suit.
Or ideally, I'm hiding in Nosferatu's castle somewhere. He's got like a hidden compartment where he sticks.
You might just die in there though. You don't know what's lurking in there, you know.
But yeah, I'm definitely taking that xenomorph for sure. I feel like that's like a great guy just to have like take point in the front. Uh, I'm also going to go to Jason Voorhees. Uh, like Jason, just, he, he can take a lot of hits and he is, he's, he's quick. He can definitely dish out the damage. And I think, okay, I need someone that can tank and, and put up a good fight. I feel like when I look at this, Freddy Krueger, again, is going to have no effect on any of these guys if they're have to fight each other, because none of these guys sleep.
They can be knocked unconscious, though. That's the point of Freddy vs.
Jason. But if they get knocked down, are they unconscious? Because we don't know. They're just like in a state. I mean, obviously we know Jason can be caught by Freddy Krueger, but Freddy Krueger loses that battle. We've seen the movie. Jason fucks him up.
No, Jason had the help of teenagers. That's why. It was like an 8v1.
And you know what? I'm helping Jason out.
I know. That's fine. I'm just saying.
Take those powers that were worth at least three teenagers.
Yeah.
Don't disparage my boy, Freddy, by being like, oh, he lost to Jason. No, no, no, no. Some teens were helping Jason out. He's a mommy's boy that had an advantage there.
But yeah, I think having Jason is a pretty big thing. Pretty big boost of morale there. Big tank. And then on the opposite side of me, I want to have another big tank. I want Frankenstein's monster. This guy, he can dish out damage. Again, he can take a lot of hits. And I think that's huge. So if I'm invisible and no one can tell where I am, and the other guys are just dealing with the battle and fighting them off, I think that's a huge easy win because...
And even if that means we've got to sacrifice. Let's say none of us are sleeping. We're not getting knocked unconscious. And we're just dealing with Freddy in the real world. I mean, we're going to eliminate him pretty quick. Michael Myers versus Jason. I would put my money down on Jason personally.
Again, you're just assuming you've got Freddy in the real world. There's things you have to do to that. You have to also go into his dream world.
We're going to do it. I feel like the Xenomorph, if it comes down to it, we've got to just kill the Xenomorph to spray that acid on all the bad guys. We could take a loss to secure that W.
Okay, so you're going with this little suit.
Xeno jason and uh frankenstein's monster that's right good team okay so i'm with you guys with the xeno xeno's like xeno is the number one draft pick you gotta have xeno just for many reasons now obviously there's some weak xenos out there so you never know um obviously again i'm i am biased because i love freddy freddy is the one that does scare me the most on here because it's just like because i i agree taylor where I don't think there's many points of you're going to get these other bad guys unconscious. So as a fighter, it may not work, but it's one of these things that like, do I want them off the board? Cause just for any reason, if I get knocked unconscious or something like it's it, it's none of this like, Oh,
invisible suit or traps. You're just in his world and you're just fucked until you get woken up.
So I don't, I'm not going to pick them. Cause same thing.
I don't know how much of a fire you could be. And it is only a night. So like Dylan said, you could try to stay alive, but that's always my worry. It's just like taking a bump on the head. And then it's, like, I think if you do that, it's an instant kill. So that's why for my reason to skip ahead before I pick other teammates, I'm going to do the home alone traps. So I don't want to risk, like, potential getting hit with the invisible suit. Or for just some reason, like we just said, what if you're riding on the Xeno, it gets shot, it messes up your suit, then the suit's gone. Where at least the house, I feel like I could have some time to plan. I could try to get some over there and then run again.
I think both work out well, but for the, the home loan traps by jigsaw, I'm going to go that route, especially because like we're.
Talking about jigsaw. He's some like, think about the rack where just twist all your body parts.
Like what happens if they didn't say like, You send an Osferatu, you know, who's not going to be able to be killed by these traps. Like he's going to go in there and just trigger them all. And then the boys can come in behind and get you.
Maybe one of his traps is Lily Rose up on a bed though. And you just go wait till sunrise.
You know, pure sunlight is one of his traps. Yeah.
So, and again, I just don't know with, so I got, I'm going with the traps and I'm going with Zeno and I'm definitely going Jason Voorhees as well. He's just a massive tank.
And then my third pick is tough because, Elordi's Frankenstein's monster, he is strong, but he's not like a fighter fighter. He's a very passionate sort of monster.
So I don't know if I'm going there. I know they're there to fight, but still, I want someone with that grit. Nosferatu, I just don't know in his movie.
He didn't specify which Nosferatu, but let's just go with Eggers. He's going up against a bunch of weak humans, right?
So I don't know if he just pops up and Jason grabs him, is it just over for him? Is he just like a very... twiggy sort of.
Guy one like last jaw so that's where i'm kind of i'm kind of iffy on but i think because of the ones that i've picked with the the traps i feel like nosferatu could evade those with his like flying and whatnot so i think i'm also going to take nosferatu as well i think i can trap michael and ardent some clowns same thing as the monster i think i'm okay there freddy cougar that's the only worry but again just got to stay up and stay out of his world there. Now, he did this last time to me, Mike, where he sent me something. He said, don't look at it before. And then I did accidentally.
So this time he did. He sent me to it on Discord in a spoiler text. I don't know what it says. He said, beware, though, because there is a twist. Once the battle's over, you must pay the price for using your god power. You have to put the souls of your fellow co-hosts in the bodies of three-year defenders where they'll have to spend the rest of their lives.
You get to choose which, though, So what will it be?
So Dylan.
Whoa.
So obviously Kirkland's not here, so we don't have that, but we can still put him in one. So you got Nosferatu, Xenomorph, and Voorhees. Whose souls are you putting in these?
This is actually pretty easy. I feel like I got to do Taylor the honor of making him the Xenomorph. That just seems like the good friend thing to do. I'll spray my blood everywhere for you. Yeah, exactly. Uh, Travis, I feel like you got like a Michael Myers energy to you. I think you could, I think you could body that stock. And I feel like Kirkland's got the Nosferatu thing going on. Like I could imagine Kirkland as Nosferatu in his castle playing Warhammer for 6,000 years and being a content, happy man. And so I'm going to give him that infinite. I know all he wants in life is time to play Warhammer. And so I feel like by making him Nosferatu, I can grant him that wish.
So that was actually easy for me. Do you guys agree Kirkland, Nosferatu, there's kind of a vibe there that kind of works?
So, because me and you have the same list, Dylan, I'd put you in the Nosferatu category.
Well, you have Jason instead of Myers, right?
Right, right. So I still would put.
I don't think Kirkland's the most tanky guy, but the reason I put you in the Nosferatu over Kirkland is I think Kirkland's... memeness or his like the giggles he'll get, like how goofy he can get is not like, it doesn't.
Match the Nosferatu. Like I, again, he's trapped in the soul.
So I guess he could just change it up, but I feel like you can carry a bit of that more gravitas than Kirkland.
I don't know if he can like bring in.
That sort of like, I, I, His castle is going to be a lot more funnier. You know, I'm trying to imagine that person has to live similar.
It's going to be filled with Home Alone traps.
And here's the other thing, Dylan. What if you're talking about this Warhammer thing? What if he's living that era? There is no Wi-Fi. There is no games.
He's just in that fucking castle.
Well, isn't it like today?
And then like from then on, that guy.
So he goes back home and he's doing his little board and everything. And actually, you know, the other reason I'm going to pick Jason is because he's scared of water. So that's another reason. Kirkland is scared of water. Taylor is also, but I'm like you, Dylan, where I have to give him the Xenomorph.
Kirkland says he's not a good swimmer. Well, we know what happened to Jason. So I'm saying Taylor's the Xenomorph. Kirkland's Jason for the water issues.
And I'm giving you Nosferatu. I think you can pull off.
I'm down for that.
I know you're not scared of water either.
Not scared of water. No.
Hey, Taylor, what was your list again?
I had Jason, I had Zeno, and I had Frankenstein's monster. Oh, man. Jarvis, I feel like you're Jason. I feel like you're a Jason character there. Tanker. This is tricky. This is tricky because a part of me feels like Kirkland could be the Zeno and Dylan, you'd be the Frankenstein's monster because I feel like he's got that passion. And he just wants to learn and love and all these different things, you know, in his new profound life of reincarnation. And Kirkland, I just, I mean, like, Xenos, they're just, they're fucking screaming and charging and shit. And just like, I feel like that's Kirkland in Call of Duty in a nutshell.
So I feel like that just kind of fits.
So that's your official Kirkland Xeno doing his Frankenstein's monster?
I'll take that.
Yeah.
I agree with that. Out of your list, I would have picked the same thing.
I don't think Kirkland has the Frankenstein's monster vibe, you know?
No.
I don't think so.
Yeah.
Right.
Well, there you go, Mike. Thank you very much for that question. We very much appreciate it.
Keep them coming. See, it was just that one, you know, keep them coming. We will do our best to make sure it's clear for the boys here. But before we go to our next patron question, we're going to do... our draft list. We're going to do that. Patreon question, Extra Life, what we've been watching. That's the schedule. Actually, we'll take an ad break right here. And we're back.
If you didn't want that ad break, you could join Patreon. And like Mike, send in questions, or like anybody else that joins Patreon. But a big shout out to the Patreon producers, April Darkness, Jack Grant, Superbad Mike, God Loves Me 69, aka Normius Fetus, Hidalgo, Lenny Kravitz, Cocktail Clay, John No H, Sam Green, John M, Matthew Fletcher, and Summer Hansi, who's Having a good time in Japan. She was drunk tweeting today, I saw. So she went to a burlesque show in Japan. I was like, that must be a good time.
That sounds awesome.
Yeah, so we're excited because that's why she missed that last After 9. So excited to see when she gets back and talk to her about that. We had an After 9, as I just mentioned, on Saturday, which we talked about Halloween, talked about some fantasy. We talked about some... What else did we talk about, Taylor? I thought there was some... We talked about your phone troubles.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Then we talk about, what were we breaking down?
James Bond stuff.
Right, right.
We were going over the final three choices, supposedly. So, yeah, very fun time there. And then, yeah, cast coming up, newscast, me and Dylan, finally. Something that's been not in the making for a while, but in the making my soul tomorrow.
We're going to record it. It's going to release Friday. Side quest, Star Fox Adventures retrospective. My goodness. Just be today. Don't even want to hint at anything.
Dylan knows a little bit. I'm very excited to talk about it for many reasons. So look out for that. On Halloween, we're dropping the Terrifier commentary track that we made Kirkland do.
And also, I guess, Taylor, we were making plans for Friday. We'll still do it. We'll just have to tell Kirkland it's a later review. I forgot we got Dexter on Friday.
I know.
I know.
What happened with Dexter?
Well, me and Taylor were like... Is there a new show? Yeah, Dexter Resurrection Season 2. He's still going. He's still resurrecting, so... We'll just have to tell them it's a later review.
Is that the one with the young Dexter, or is that like Michael C.
It's Michael C. Hall.
Original Sin got canceled because I can't remember what happened. I think someone new at Paramount TV took over, and they were like, we just want to focus on Michael C.
Hall pretty much. I was like, yeah, I think that's the right way to go. Makes sense.
Yeah, because at one point they were doing a Trinity spinoff, and there was talks like a Brian spinoff.
Right, I remember the Trinity stuff.
Yeah, and you didn't watch Original Sin, but they heavily set up Brian in that show.
They cast an actor. They gave him side plots. Like, he is, like, watching Dexter since Dexter was a teenager. Like, they had all the stuff that was on the original show. It was super annoying.
At one point, Dylan, because you're never going to watch this, he kidnapped Harry and had him on the roof of a building and, like, he was threatening him with a chainsaw. He somehow got out of it.
I can't remember. It was a chainsaw, right, Taylor, I think?
Right?
Or just a saw?
I think it was.
Yeah.
That's a very un-Dexter-like thing to occur.
Yeah.
And, again, the point of the Ice Truck Killer was that he was, like, in the shadows for, like, ever. Like, just watching from afar. But here he is, like, kidnapped. He's like talking to Deb and Deb doesn't, you know, it's yeah. So thank goodness.
But so we will have a Dexter resurrection season, uh, one episode or season two, episode one review.
Same thing as vision quest. Check out those.
We'll give them a few weeks. If not, they might become what we've been watching. We'll see how that goes. And then the next week's extra life, which we'll talk about a little later. I give you a whole schedule, the 2026 movie draft. So we're going to go over all the drafts when we have. So right now, currently Kirkland is in last place.
Uh, he is waiting on the big old Avengers doomsday. And that's where it's really coming down to like, To the win, to see how good that's going to do, we're going to see what happens. But he has Avengers Doomsday, obviously not out yet. Minions 3, only at 528. So that had a big decline from those other minis, Despicable Me's.
You got Michael. The truth will be revealed at 1.02 billion. Supergirl at 1.26 billion.
Kirkland drafted Michael?
Yeah, he did. Yeah, because remember, you did, but it got delayed.
I thought you drafted it.
No, he took it from me. I won it. No, no.
Last year, I won it, and you took it from me. And then this year I won it and Kirkland took it from me. Well, I'm not glad because it made a billion. So Supergirl, $ 126 million. Disclosure Day, $ 216 million. Mortal Kombat 2, $ 129 million. Number seven is Narnia, but obviously that got delayed. So maybe next year, Kirkland. The Pout Pout Fish at the lowest movie draft record of all time.
At $ 5 million. So I don't know if anyone's going to break that at any point, but that is the record. Scary Movie 6 at $ 224 million. So pretty good. And then Jason Statham's Shelter at 54. So he's sitting at $ 2. 3 billion. So again, Avengers Doomsday, that could be $ 2. 5.
That could be $ 3. That could be the game changer. So we'll see what happens there. Taylor, you are in second place right now with $ 2. 7. So, Unfortunate View, Moana, live action, $ 323 million.
That was your number one draft pick. That was a big, big slump there. And then Deviler Prada, huge win at $ 688.
Project Hail Mary, $ 683. Evil Dead Burn, $ 71 million. That one kind of burned you there.
Paw Patrol 3, $ 160 million. Pretty good. They announced they're making a fourth one, Taylor, so you can draft in a few years.
Never underestimate the dinosaurs.
I don't. Those things always make money.
Even though my kids aren't really watching them at all anymore, they've kind of grown out of it, but people still love them.
Uh pegasus 3 at 656 uh and then the hondar at 152 so you're waiting on hunger games jumanji and godzilla minus zero so you got some heavy hitters.
Potentially that could be that could be a big one that's that's your maker break 800 million right there and hunger games i think that could be a good 300 to 400 boost as.
Well mike's thinking 500 i'll take it like i like your optimism I think Godzilla and Hunger Games are a guaranteed hit for you. I think if you have a chance of winning, it all comes down to Jumanji. Jumanji, if it performs like it used to, and you hit close to a billion there, you're good.
If it crumbles, if it's another Rock Moana special, you're sleeping with the pout-pout fish tonight, my friend.
Minus one. I mean, that was $ 116 million worldwide.
This has more hype, though. Yeah, bigger release.
I would think it's like $ 200 million to $ 300 million. So I'm content.
At least.
My remainders.
Right now, Dylan is in second place with $ 3. 6 billion. He had Super Mario Galaxy at $ 1. 1 billion. He had The Odyssey at $ 1. 8 billion. You guys almost made $ 2 billion. The Odyssey at $ 1.
8 billion.
Mandalorian Grogu at $ 3. 40 billion. Iron Lung at $ 50 billion. Wuthering Heights at $ 2. 41 billion. This one's going to hurt you, Dylan. Dogstar is $ 39 million.
Oh, Ridley.
Listen to these three. Dogstar is $ 39 million. Digger, $ 46 million. And The Social Reckoning at $ 17 million. The Social Reckoning only just came out, but... Okay.
Yeah. Was that last week that came out?
Last week, yeah. But I don't know how much. I think you might get a $ 25 million there. And then you had Street Fighter at $ 80 million right now. And you're waiting for one more movie.
That's pretty good.
Fawker and Law. That's what you're waiting for. One more movie.
And that's going to be $ 500 million. So we're going.
How far behind am I from Dylan?
So you're $ 900 million now. Below him? Yeah, $ 900 million below. But yeah, that Odyssey got you back in it, Dylan, because I think you were last for a bit, but the Odyssey almost gave you $ 2 billion. You love to see it. Yeah, it really puts you up there. And then I'm in here next in first place at $ 4. 7 billion.
I have Toy Story at $ 1. 1 billion. Spider-Man, brand new today, $ 2. 5 billion. Hoppers, $ 3. 89. Resident Evil, $ 3. 84. Clayface, $ 50 million. Massive Universe, $ 114 billion. And Insidious, out of the further, 171. You like that title, Dylan? Good title.
So good, yeah.
And then I still got Hexed, Cat in the Hat, and Dune that I'm waiting on. So I'm feeling pretty good.
Oh, that's easy. Easy win.
I'm feeling pretty good on that one. But we'll see.
You never know with Doomsday and Fawker and Law. So we'll see what happens there. Let me get to the next draft here. Okay, I'll pull. Dylan, I did update this because I didn't know what we were doing next. So I got the side quest one. It is very close right now because a lot of games just came out in October. So who is last right now? Kirkland's in last place right now. But obviously his number one pick, he's waiting for GTA, which is November 18th. But he had First Light. So if people don't know, I guess I should have specified. Movie draft, we do box office.
The video game draft, we do Metacritic. The winners of these drafts will pick Retro's. So Kirkland right now has Fursight at 87.
This one you want a higher score. Ace Combat, Wings of Thieves, 87. Code Vein 2 at 70. Super Meat Boy 3D at 75. Replaced at 76. Monster Hunter Stories 3, Twisted Reflection at 86.
Castlevania, which just came out, Belmont's Curse, 84. Valor Mortis, 78. So a little lighter, I bet, than he was hoping. So he's sitting at a total of 643, but he's waiting for Hello Kitty Party.
Land, which comes out tomorrow. And GTA, which obviously could be a big one for him. Yeah, so he's in there in last place. Right now, Dylan, you're in third. You have Forza Horizon at 6 with 90. You've got Control Resonance that came out, A3, which I'm kind of surprised. I just feel like so many people have talked about it.
I guess it can still be a game of the year, but I feel like the way I've heard it talked about does not match that score. I feel like it should be in the higher 80s or low 90s you know i've seen a lot of people say it's yeah.
It's not that it's not the a team from everybody so i don't know i'll take that i'll take 83 okay.
Then you got saros at 87 you got fire emblems fortune weave at 89 um you got uh which brook unfortunately dylan delayed to yeah.
It's january mfers so close.
You got a 50 on that uh you got order of the sinking star at 84 You got Mugenics at $ 88.
Final Fantasy Resonance, which came out at $ 86. And then Minecraft Dungeons 2.
$ 86 for Final Fantasy Resonance?
Fuck.
I'll take that.
And then Minecraft Dungeons 2 is $ 75.
So you are waiting on Dustbloods. That's what you're waiting on. Oh, fuck.
That's not coming out, I don't think. Damn.
I checked it. It still says it's coming out at $ 26.
Yeah, I should have picked... I don't know. If it comes out, it'll be... It'll be my anchor. So yeah, we'll see.
So Kirk was 643. You're at 632. So you're almost a whole hundred above him right now. And then I'm in third place. I got Resident Evil Requiem at 89. Nioh 3 at 86. Dragon Quest 7 at 83. Legacy Batman 83.
Pokemon Pocopia 89. Crimson Desert 77. Mario Tennis 77. I got Silent Hill Townfall at 79. I'll take that. And then Planet Zoo 2 at 84. I'm waiting for Ocarina of Time. That's what I'm waiting for. That's my white whale. That's what I need to hopefully win this. I need a high like 85 or something to get there. I'm at 747. So Dylan's at 732.
I'm at 747. So we're super close. And Taylor's in first place with 801. And I will say this, that all of Taylor's games have come out. So either Ocarina of Time needs a hit for me or Dylan just needs to get a dustblast and Taylor's going to get bumped down.
But Taylor.
I think a couple here hit you. So you got Marvel's Wolverine, only $ 75. I thought that was a clean $ 80, but no, only $ 75.
Yoshi and the Mystery Book at $ 80. Phantom Blade Zero, which came out just recently, $ 88. So you got that. Pragmata, $ 85. Star Wars Galaxy Racers, $ 88. That's nice. That's fucking really good. I would not have thought $ 88. Halo Campaign Vault, $ 80. Re-Animal, $ 80. Gears of War E-Day, $ 87. If any two are going to sink you, it's these last two, Taylor. Jackbox Party Pack. 73.
And then, we are streaming this game after our Accord Cyclist is done, around 9-9-30. Halloween the Game, Taylor, 65.
That caught me off guard, because it's a good time, but.
So if you lose, I think Halloween the game might have been the sinker for you. But you're at 801. So I'm about 60 away from you. Dylan's about 70.
Kirkland is about 100 and give some more from us. But he has two games and plus he has GTA, which is like, is GTA in below 90?
Do we think that at all? I don't.
No, I don't think so.
No. Taylor, you think GTA below 90?
I don't think so.
No. So even if.
Hello Kitty gets like a 10 or whatever, like he's going to be getting 100. He's going to be right up there, like getting closer to us. And I think that we'll get like at least like a 50 or something. So, yeah, it's going to really come.
It's coming down to what GTA gets, what Ocarina of.
Time gets, what Dustblood, if Dustblood comes out. So it's the video game one is it's it's very close.
So I'm curious about the. jackbox one because it's only metacritic just has the pc ones everything else is tbd so i'm wondering when is that going to come.
In obviously we'll update it when we get like to january right to see the yeah i think so so that's that the superhero draft i think.
Let's see oh no i guess yeah we have updated this now i did but there's something new since then obviously not yeah you already know about because you took your victory walk but Superdraft, we all picked 10 actor-actresses. If they get cast in a Marvel or DC project, doesn't matter if it's animated, live-action TV show, we get a point. Taylor right now is currently tied for first right now because he's got Naomi Scott. We were talking about this on After 9, Taylor. If you had Naomi Scott, you still do. Donnie Yen, Mark Hamill, your top three that you've had forever. Linda Cardellini, Ozzy Inanavaretti, who got cast.
That was your double star. If you don't know what the double star is, you get two points, so it got cast as Rogue. You got Odessa Zion still.
You got Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Mile Manahem, and then Mason Thames, who is confirmed to be cast in a DC animated movie that's coming out, I think, next year or the year after. So you got that, and then Joe Currie. So you got three points because you got your doubler.
Big turn around.
I know.
And Taylor has, I think he's only got maybe one point before, or had you never got any points before?
Or was that the thing?
I think I got one for Nick Cage with, was it Superman?
Yeah, yeah, and that was about it, so. And then, yeah, I'm tied with him right now at three as well. I got no doubler, but I got Samar Weaving cast as Emma Frost. I got Paul Clemente. I got Ryan Gosling, the new Ghostwriter. I got Denzel Washington. Come on. I need to announce him by the end of the year here, Googler.
Let's go. I got Alan Tudyk as my double star. I got Adam Driver, who's cast as Mr. Sinister. Charles Melton, who's officially not playing Beast, so that sucks for me. Damson Interest, who's obviously not playing Black Panther. So I got two dead picks right now. Jesse Plemons, bequeathed from Dylan. And then Greg Henry, good old Gramps. I'm waiting, man, up tomorrow. Come on. Are you going to be pissed if I win from Greg Henry?
That's the fucking curse. Whenever I have someone, I let them go, and then they get drafted next.
So we'll see what happens.
Kirkland, Kirkland, nobody on the list yet. He's got Jennifer Holland, Austin Abrams, Katie O'Brien, Elle Fanning, Tom Cruise, Jack O'Connell, Ewan Mitchell, Miles Canton, his two stars, John Leguizamo, And then Jamie Campbell Bauer. So you've got that list going on. And Dylan Must.
You've got nobody yet, but you've got Ana de Armas, Sean Gunn, Glenn Powell, Kaylee.
Spain, who is your two-star pick.
Spain, you keep circling roles.
As much as I don't want to say this to you because you'll never drop her, I do think you're going to get points at some point. Because to me, it's like how Helen Samar weaving. She was talking about for Catwoman. She was talking about for Lois Lane. I feel like these people that when you hear them room for multiple things.
Like Adam Driver, right?
It's just like, it's just like either a money thing or a time thing where it's like, ah, this doesn't work out, but they clearly want to be in these. So I think one day Spain, he's going to get your points. It's just a question of how long. So, uh, you got Sabrina Carpenter, Patrick Wilson, Bill Skarsgård. I think your patch, your Charles Xavier duo right there. I think from when those rumors popping off, Freya Allen, Sydney Sweeney, and Seth Green, which I still think also has some.
Man of tomorrow, uh, potential there.
So could be.
OK, so that one's close. And then finally, our last draft, the MCU character draft. Now, I did do this in advance. Obviously, things could change. But with Doomsday, I think coming out in a month or so or two months, I think we're locked in. So the reason I wanted to do this is I want.
To set the stakes because now we're not doing until the winners until January. We're not talking about the draft ever again. So this is where we draft characters from the Marvel Universe. And it's like a fantasy football thing where they get points on. appearances, end credits appearance, surprise appearance, or you can lose points if they die. Doomsday does have the rules coming up where.
If it's an appearance, it's plus 10, and if it's a death, though, it's a negative 30. So it's higher stakes that people appear in there, but bigger stakes as.
Well, they also die. So that's what can go into some stuff. So right now, Taylor, you're last place.
So I have updated with everybody that's in Endgame now. I've given them their ensemble thing. So this is every, or sorry, Doomsday. So We won't know surprise or death, so this is what the total score is going to be. Taylor, you have Daredevil, who got your main project 25 points. You got Hulk for an appearance point. Well, yeah, you got Hulk for appearance points. Taylor tried to raise eye bags down. Taylor's trying to say, like, if the new endgame post-cred scenes count. And I was like, I wouldn't accept that.
New footage, man. It was re-released in theaters. I mean, you got Hulk. You got all these characters that I drafted.
I don't know.
I feel like that counts.
That's interesting. What's up with that in credits? We can talk.
About it because it's out there. Doom kidnaps Hulk.
That's one of them.
So after, yeah, there's multiple. We can talk about it because they're going to be in the movie. And some they said might not even be. Hulk is in a prison because obviously we're having a brand new day. He's all in a structure and everything. And the whole room starts to flicker green.
And he's like, Dr. Bono, I need you. And then he just takes Hulk and then he's gone.
Does he take him as Bruce or as Hulk?
He turns into Hulk when the lights go out because clearly they didn't want to pay for the budget of the end credit scene. But he's like, he's turning in and then he's like, Banner, I need you.
And he takes him.
That's end credit appearance. I feel like that's 10 points that I should qualify for.
And then the other end credit had Peggy.
I would give that to you, Taylor.
We need to wait until Kirkland's also on the board.
To me, it's like it's a new scene that was released this year. A new official theater. I don't know. I'd give it to you.
Dispute that.
You have my vote, but of course it takes a majority. It takes a village.
I'm just trying to think about it in my head. Does this count?
It's an uncredited scene.
Let me just see who else. No one got Steve. Taylor's Payee. So far the only people that are on this list is the people that taylor has he has both hulk and peggy carter for me let's.
Go which again we talked about that the fact that no one had steve on their list was actually like well.
We know why right because the the doomsday death toll yeah i think because that's negative 30 that's a big one so i'll think about it i think i'd be okay to let you agree this because right now you're only sitting at 55 the rest of us are in three digits so sure i'll let you have it uh and then you have gambit coming up i got you 15 for an ensemble Maybe Valentina. She's not appear like no advertised. So she could be a surprise appearance for you. Deadpool.
You're definitely getting some surprise appearance there.
I think in doomsday, Nick Fury.
I don't think so.
Cause Sam Jackson said he's in the next one. Mephisto. I don't think you're getting them in doomsday. Ghost Rider.
I have a chance.
I have a chance.
Ryan Gosling could just cameo in there.
No chance.
No chance.
Secret Wars.
Yeah.
Yeah. Not in Doomsday.
I'm at a 1% because maybe the Doomsday end credit is like a big Secret Wars setup, and it's just like portal opens up, bike comes through, and.
He's like, hey, kid, flame on, whatever he's going to say. And then number 11, who I think is for sure going to be.
Isn't that the other fire guy?
Sure, they can interchange.
And then the other guy, too, that you're waiting for in Doomsday, you're definitely going to get points for is Rick Strange.
Rick Strange, you're going to get big points. He's going to be in Doomsday.
Rick Strange, of course.
Uh, so, and then me and Dylan right now are tied for second at 125.
So, uh, we're very close to Dylan. You have Spider-Man right now who led a project. Obviously, uh, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is not coming out until January. So again, your, uh, your game in the shows, January is getting you, but Toby could be in it. I told him Toby's going to be in there. So he get you some unannounced just cause it's, if people don't know, we have unannounced appearance. Those, those mean more than just a regular appearance. Uh, If it's rumored or out there, that doesn't count. It has to be an official marketing. So as long as they don't show Toby's beautiful face, Dylan gets like an extra 15 points.
So you got Thor getting you 15 coming up. You got Jean Grey. She got you 15 points because it was not an advertised appearance. It was Sadie Sink, but it was not like, you know, it wasn't Jean Grey. So you got that. You got Sung Chi, obviously. You got Shuri. You got Ree Richard, Sue Storm. Those all getting you a nice 15, 15, 15. You got Tombstone and Scorpion that got you five points. And then Norman Osborn had a goose egg, but You never know. Maybe Willem Dafoe's flying around in Doomsday. He's with Ryder. Flame on.
They're all just saying it. And then, yeah, I'm tied up with Dylan there. I got Punisher, who had a project, a main project, and an appearance for 25 and 5. I got Wolverine from X-Men 97, and I got a post-credit from him, so that's good. I got Vision right now. Luke Cage got me 15 for a surprise appearance. I got T'Challa Jr. He's not been in any marketing, so I'm really hoping.
I feel like that could be an easy 15-pointer for me. If they don't show that kid once in a preview, I'm good. I got Yelena, who's obviously in Doomsday coming up.
Strange, nothing yet. Scar Witch, nothing yet. Thanos, nothing. And then I got The Thing, who's obviously in Doomsday. So I'm at 125.
Right.
And then Kirkland's leading the way at 140. So, Dylan, we're very close. We're only, what, 15 points away.
So Doomsday could decide a lot between the deaths and the surprise appearances.
Mm-hmm.
Kirkland's got Cyclops, that's Double Projects, Wonder Man, Doctor Doom, Rogue, who was in 97, Johnny Storm, Beast, Sam Wilson. So that's like 650.
Oh, he has a lot of X-Men that are going to bite the dust in Doomsday, I think.
Yeah, Beast and Cyclops are really good potential, especially Cyclops. Cyclops long gone 30 points. If he dies, all his points gone.
Snap.
All for nothing.
Are we keeping him alive?
You have Gambit, so you better hope not.
I hope he doesn't die.
And actually, Taylor, I forgot.
You actually get more points for Gambit, because I forgot they brought him back for 97.
This is why we do this, because sometimes Travis doesn't count all the points in there.
So you're actually up to 70 now, Taylor, because I forgot.
But now we're not going to let you have Hulk.
Yeah, yeah, that's gone now, yeah.
Because Gambit, he wasn't advertised for 97, so there you go. And then Kirkland has Tommy Maximoff, but obviously he was in the Vision Quest preview, so he didn't get surprise prints, and then he has Apocalypse. Um, he, I guess he was waiting for friendly neighbor cause he picked a black cat as well. So zero points for black cat. And I don't think, um, I don't think we're seeing her in doomsday. So I could be wrong.
Unlikely.
Yeah. So there's all the drafts. That is it until 2027. We'll tally those up and we'll see.
There's a, yeah, I'd say the Marvel draft, the video game draft and the, the, comic book or superhero draft are very close. Then the movie draft could be close, but it just depends on some stuff. So, uh, some juicy things going on there. So, all right, let's get to.
The other patron question here. If I can pull it up, where's it going here? Okay. May I say, ask, how would you guys rank these vacation ideas by your personal preference? Uh, Okay, so I'll say one, cottage getaway with friends or family.
Two, cruise ship.
Three, beach resort. Four, traveling slash sightseeing. And then five, camping trip. Perhaps there's one list that you would want to be your choice or anything else you'd like to shout out, but that is the list you provided. Dillm, what you looking at there?
Oh, geez.
I've never been on a cruise in my life.
So.
I don't know if I, I don't know, I don't think I, it doesn't, the idea does not enthuse me. Yeah, big viral outbreaks on those cruise ships. That's the thing now, too. I feel like that kind of freaks me out. I feel like, you know, in, how old am I? I'm 30, 31. Maybe in like 40 years, I'll be really jazzed about cruise ships. But for right now, I think that's pretty low on my list. So I'm going to put that aside.
If it was, of course, all expenses paid, for sure. But I'm not going to spend money on that kind of thing. So I'll put that at the bottom of the list. Cottage getaway with friends or family. See, traveling sightseeing is kind of. It's kind of so generic it could mean anything. Like, traveling could be a beach resort, right?
I think traveling is like... Because to me, a beach resort is literally like you're sitting on the beach with a virgin mojito... you're like just looking around. I think you're specifically at the beach, chilling, sun tanning. Like you're just taking in the nice warm weather, the waves, maybe your surfboard and like that type of stuff. Where sightseeing to me, it's like, I want to go see like the great wall of China. I want to go see this thing. Like that to me is what sightseeing is. Yeah.
Well, I'm going to put traveling slash sightseeing. I'm, I'm jumping all over the place with list. That's number one on my list for sure. Uh, just cause that's the most, by far the most meaningful thing here. I mean, it's so much of, uh, my favorite memories in my, in my life are the most meaningful things I've done are from the travel I've done. So that's definitely top of the heap for sure. Uh, then we're stuck with these things in the middle. I'm going to put the cottage getaway and camping trip are kind of similar energy to me.
I'm going to go with, I'll go with a cottage getaway as number two on my list. with friends or family. I don't know if he's saying, I guess with, yeah, either one of those options. I think I'll take that. I think that's, that sounds enjoyable and fun to me. I love, love doing that. Did that with some friends recently.
We were into the Airbnb.
Nice.
Wasn't, wasn't quite a college, but similar idea. And that was amazing. That was super fun. Uh, B I'm not a big resort. I have maybe, maybe I had, so I went to Hawaii a few years ago and did a, did a resort. Uh, And there's just something about the vibe of that. Just that doesn't really clear, you know, it's nice and relaxing, whatever. It's also, it's extremely expensive to do that. Typically if you go on the choir or whatever, but it's just not really my vibe. Uh, I think there was, there was a few things in that trip that didn't weren't so great for me. Also, you know what? It rained a lot in Hawaii and that trip kind of sucked for that reason. And it's like all these other things. I think, I mean, camping,
if it rains a lot, that can be atrocious too, but that's, you know, that's definitely a factor I put in here. So, I think I'll go number one, traveling for sure. Number two, I'll put cottage getaway. Number three, I'll put camping because I do love camping. Number four, I'll put beach resort. And then number five is where I'll put cruise ship.
Okay.
Yeah.
There you go. Taylor, do you want me to go? No, no, no. I'm good. I'm good.
So what am I thinking here? Like, cruise ship is definitely... It would be fun, but I'm not really eager to pay for something like that right now. I'm definitely a beach resort kind of person. I think that there's a... Yeah. My time, like, going to Mexico and whatnot, like, there's lots of resorts that I look online at. It's like, oh, yeah, I could definitely just chill here. This would be a lot of fun. This would be a nice place to hang out. So, I think I would go.
It's tough because traveling and sightseeing would be really up there too with Beach Resort. I'd probably go Beach Resort because I've been number one because I'd love to just have a really good vacation where I can just relax, like really relax. And there's just like fun little touristy things you're doing, but it's not like following a schedule, always on the go. Have to hit here, this location, this location, and do all these things as you're traveling.
But again, that's a lot of fun too. So that would be number two. the cottage getaway with friends or family. That'd be my number three, because I just think there's a lot of just like staying in the cabins of a big white, you know, with, with family and it's snowing. You got the hot tub going, you got board games going.
I guess such a nice vibe. It's really, really a good time. Um, done lots of camping. I think at this point, my camping trips that I would like to do now is leave the tent behind. No more tent life. I just do like one of those small little teardrop trailers, you know, where it's just like a small cozy little thing.
You just like, drive around with has a little kitchenette in the back too. I love that. That's just, that's for me. I've done so much, so much tent camping and you know, it's, I've moved on from the tent stuff now. Um, and then I would put the cruise ship probably last cause I'm, I'm not really, I'm not cruising into that anytime soon. So yeah.
See what you did there. All right. Absolutely offensive what he said about the whole done with the tenting and whatnot. He knew I was going to go after him too. That's why he turned the camera off.
I'm still here. No, no, no.
You're shaking a little boots there.
Yeah. All right. Yeah.
Camping trip. He says, okay. He says, okay.
No, you don't.
Camping trip. I'm going, I think that's still number one for me. And I, I'm the full tent guy.
Cause to me, I just don't want to like, I feel like more connected with mother nature in a sense to like, Now, not so much because I'm older and I got kids to look after and I got to deal with mosquito bites. But there's many times I would not even sleep in the tent. I would just take the mattress, sleep outside, look at those stars.
There's nothing better.
Coyotes coming after you.
Oh, that's okay. They'll take me. I'll be sleeping. I won't even know.
But there's nothing better than going to sleep and it's just stars above you. That's what it can be. I know someone's going, oh, well, in the trailer tent thing, you can look.
No, no, no. There's glass. There's this and that. Just be in the outdoors. Already when you're in the camping trailer, that feels like, okay.
You're secluded, you're like, you're away from it, we're camping, love the smell of the fire, I love the crickets, the bugs, if you're by a camping spot that has water, oh, you're in the, while you're sleeping, oh my god, you get, you'll never get a better sleep than that, so, and camp is a fun time, because I feel like it's just also, it's, there's stress with a little bit of all traveling, right, but I feel like that's the least stressful, because most of the time you bring everything, and if you're going, other people do, it's like, oh, I forgot this, and.
You always happen to have the thing that you compliment one another and you get to share stories, you get to stay up where even where I put number two, the sightseeing, there might be a time where some fatigue might set in where camping, it's like that is a, an ultimate, just like relax one. Right. So, and all of these obviously have asterisks. If you get like a bad camping spot, then yeah, that sucks. But so I'm going to go camping. Number one, I'm going to go sightseeing.
Number two, I'm not like a, I have things I, I do want to see, but I'm also not at the same point. I just like that more than these other ones. I'm not, there's things in my life that I want to see, but if I die not seeing them, it's okay.
Like, it's on a bucket list, but it's on very low on the bucket list. I don't have to see it.
I'm not a big traveler that way, but out of these options, I would much rather be like, oh, I want to see this landmark, I want to see this location, or I want to go see where fucking New Zealand, where the Shire was, right? Like, there's little things like that, so I put sightseeing number two. I put, let's see, like I'm definitely, and I'm definitely going to cruise last.
I'm with you guys. I just, maybe when I'm older, maybe that is the only thing I just don't like.
We'll all go on a cruise together when we're 75 years old and we'll have the time of our 75 year old life.
We'll do a podcast with this shitty wifi.
And some little room we're all hunkered over. Ah, Avengers 18. I can't believe they're bringing Donnie back again, you know? But yeah, Cruise is last. I don't need to do that.
And I love water, but no. And then Beach Resort and Cottage. I think they both have their pros and cons. I don't know. I guess I'd go the Beach Resort second last and then the Cottage third. Because maybe there's just more things to do with the Cottage. It's still similar camping where you can maybe build a fire, right, and you have.
Because I don't know, a beach resort is nice, but then you still got to go up to your hotel to sleep, I imagine, right, it still might be a nice hotel, but you're still in just a hotel, and don't get me wrong, I did a beach resort, that's part of the reason why I fell in love with Miami, dad and I did that, and it was amazing, it was a great experience, the beach there, it was one of those secluded things too, where the public couldn't access it, so it's just like you and the people that are at the beach, and it was great nighttime, you could sleep, I slept on the beach a few nights, where it was just it was safe because like, Oh no, no one else can get in here. Oh, obviously if someone stays in the hotel and could murder you, then I
guess it's bad luck, but it's not just anybody off the street can just come out.
Hey, how's it going? So it can be nice, but I guess I just, I feel like maybe I'll get an over the heat adventure or cottage. Yeah. Kind of similar to the camping. So yeah. Camping. sightseeing cottage beach resort and then the uh the cruise so sorry for the cruise lovers out there maddie let us know your list i don't know will inspire the question you plan a trip maddie i i gave maddie dylan he he's been silent because i know you haven't been the discord that much i've been bugging i'm gonna bug him again i've been bugging for the past three months because whenever i can't oh i think it was around uh yeah it was around uh gb day when we did our strikers tournament And in the chat, he was fucking beaking us,
being like, oh, I'm an ultimate striker, but I could beat any of you.
Not talking just to me, like any of us. He just threw us lumped GV together. He said, oh, he's just a mass, blah, blah, blah.
I gave him a seat. I said, hey, you fly down to Kelowna. There's a place for you to stay. There's a couch spot for you right there. Run the gong. Let's see. Let's put your ass up and see if you can. It's different for you, Matty, to sit there.
Matty, I would destroy you, but you wouldn't stand a chance.
Oh, yeah.
In Strikers on the Switch. Strikers GameCube, I'm not going to defend my honor there.
That's the one he wants. That's the one he wants.
Okay, you know what? He can beat me then.
Yeah, that's fine.
I don't have any pride in my skill in that game. I'm a Switch boy.
You see me in 10, I would destroy you, Maddie. I think my kids could maybe destroy you the way they're playing.
Like, but you know, we'll never know. You have to fly down. I gave him an open invitation. I said, Hey, you come here. There's a spot for you.
You can, I even said, you can come join. You could be in the tournament this year. You could have done that, but no matter. And anytime he was giving me a laugh emoji or thumbs up, never. I even offered to Dylan. He at one point, one of my players in the NFL fantasy league. I said, if you show me a printed ticket of you come to Kelowna, I'll give you that.
Player right now.
They was right there on the table, but not there. So Maddie, In the future, the invitation's open because I'm ready to walk.
It dry for you as far as strikers.
You're going to walk it dry?
Yeah, walk it dry. Walk it dry.
What does walk it dry mean?
It's just like all the blood that's came out from his body is just like a dry stump.
Taylor, do you know this saying? Walk it dry.
It's what you learn here.
It sounds like a crude sexual term. Maybe it is, too. Maybe it is.
You want to get dry? But yeah, you can take Maddie, right? Strikers GameCube?
I mean, I'm pretty rusty at the GameCube one, because I booted up the GameCube one after our Switch Strikers tournament, and I was like, fuck, I am rusty at this one.
We've got to do some rounds.
I love doing Strikers and Switch, but during Extra Life, we've got to do some rounds. It might also end up in the tournament, but I mean, just even on the off time, we've got to do some GameCube rounds, because it's been a minute.
And that is my zone. I've learned on the Switch, but my zone is still the GameCube.
Oh, yeah.
The hits there.
So speaking of extra life is happening November 7th. I need to find the fucking master file. Cause Taylor, I better not find this super easy. Oh my, here I search extra life.
It's a fourth thing. Uh, Dylan Taylor's trying to search games or trying to add games the other day. And he's like, I can't find it anywhere.
Google drive. That's why I couldn't find it.
I was in my cryptic clothes. Okay. It's like you search extra life and it's right there, but I do got to get the wheel out to make a, to find out what games were, uh, that are in the pool so we can download them and bring them and everything like that. Because Taylor's offered to host us here. So we're going to be at the Field Residence. We've never been there before.
Oh, only Kirkland. Kirkland's the only one who's been there.
Kirkland and Maddie. Kirkland and Maddie.
Yeah, Maddie's here right now.
Yeah, that's who he's talking to. So we've got lots of stuff. So obviously this happens at 9 a.m. PDT. I forgot. We're PDT now. We're not PST anymore. You know that?
I'm not into that, no.
But we have to be, because when the time change happens next weekend, Dylan.
PST rolls off the tongue, okay? And so I'm going to keep saying that?
I agree with you, but if you say PST, the future is going to be wrong, because the PST is still going to time change. So Taylor, there's some places that are still doing the time change. BC isn't. So we're PD time now. So if you say your PST.
You know what? I still call it Twitter, and my life is unchanged. So I think it'll be a similar situation.
That's different. That's not a time zone thing, but PD, police department. Anyways, PDT, PDT. Anyways, Extra Life.
We are trying to raise $ 1, 000 towards the BC Children's Hospital. All the funds goes towards surgeries, pre-op, post-op. When you click on that link down below, not only will we have our full schedule, but you can click on the About section. It tells you everything and what the money goes towards, the families it helps, and we very much appreciate the support.
If you can donate anything. It's not like a Kickstarter or GoFundMe thing. You can donate, and if we don't hit our goal... also we want to and you can unlock everything we're offering uh but it's not like uh the money still goes there so donate as much as you can we very much appreciate it if you can't just share the link that day like the video spit around many times we have people donate that we never heard from and we never hear of again there's some people have been like hey who are you and then we never know and we just appreciate the gratitude we've met other podcasters that way of like hey i like what you're doing so again if you can't donate that's completely fine It takes a second to repost like that,
get that algorithm. We very much appreciate that.
So to kick us off in the morning, it's going to be some opening ceremonies set up. There will be some prerecorded entrances and everything. There will be some fun stuff there.
But then I'm going to say from 9 to 10.
If it goes longer, we'll put a pin in it. But 9 to 10, we're going to be doing Taylor and Kirkland have come to terms.
They've accepted. We're getting Taylor versus Kirkland, Call of Duty 5. If you don't know, the last, I don't know, decade or so, they've had four of these matches, different match types.
But we did that one where you guys did a bunch of different Call of Duties, like the finale. But I kind of forgot that you guys had played three before. And, yeah, you guys are tied two apiece in the series.
There's the lost footage because we did that. It was Monofer 1. And I was just decimating Kirkland for like the first 30 minutes of the stream.
Nope, that's on there.
Well, we lost the footage though, right?
No, no, that's on there. The rest of the stream is not.
The only thing of that year is because if you don't know, that's why we always have the two parts, like the multiple parts. If you go over 12 hours, YouTube for fucking who knows what reason just keeps your stream. Won't let you have it. But that's the only thing we have from that year. It's just you beating Kirkland.
Estimating Kirkland.
Yeah.
So I have that footage and I'll be making a video. So, yeah, they're going to be doing like a best of five. They're going to be doing different stipulations each time.
A straight up one.
I guess there's going to be one with no trophy systems. Taylor, I imagine Kirkland's going to try.
He hates the trophy system.
Yeah. So me and Dylan will be on the sticks for that one. Well, we won't be on the sticks. We'll be in the comm tracks giving commentary to that. And that's hope. To end around 10. We're doing things a little bit different this year because of the way people's schedules are working. So at 10 a.m.
To 12 p.m., we're going to do the Trivia Battle, which is the other podcasters coming on. And it's going to be a little bit different this year. Instead of teams, it's just going to be a full free-for-all. We're going to throw all the podcasters in the pool. We're answering questions. Dylan's keeping score. And, yeah, they're going to answer 30 questions.
And best of luck to them. We're going to try out this new concept, see how it works. So everyone has to answer these questions.
So we'll see. They'll roughly take about two hours. And then around 12 p.m. PDT is when we start the Gauntlet Tournament because people will be coming over and just fared better this time. So we got myself. We got Taylor, who's always going through them. We got Kirkland Patzer. And then we got the reigning defending three-time championship winner, Dylan Musk.
Dylan, obviously we know we have some interviews coming up. But how are you feeling heading into another tournament here? And as I've said this before, you could make history. No one's won a tournament back-to-back. We've won multiple tournaments, but no one's ever won one back-to-back. So that's what's on the line. If you can defend that.
Bad boy right there. I'm not going to touch it. I'm not even going to touch it until game day.
I don't even want to. Don't get your greasy little palms.
I'm not.
Actually, I went up there.
Don't even point at it, okay? Don't even look at it. Don't even think about it. I'm feeling confident, as I usually do, because I think I'm just good on my feet when it comes to these games, the gauntlet style. I think a lot of people feel the pressure. They feel like they need to surmount something. But I feel like I'm cool as a cucumber when I need to be.
On top of that, I have not one skip, but two skips. I earned a skip from the Strikers tournament. So I have upper hand. I have more tools than you guys do. And that can make a huge difference in a tournament that involves quite a bit of luck. I'm going to have more luck on my side because I have an extra reroll. So I feel good because, a lot of times when I've lost in the past, maybe some janky game or some game I don't know about or some game that has a lot of luck, like that stupid Lord of the Rings game that I lost to Ruben one time. But you know what? I can maybe avoid some of that stuff because of my ability to skip games just more numerously than you guys.
So yeah, we'll see what happens, but I'm feeling confident.
I just showed your double skip there. I didn't touch it.
It's not on the package, so you got the extra life skip there. I will laugh because it's not going to carry over to next year because we'll do another tournament for GBA. I'm going to laugh if you get like no, like you just get every game you want this year. And that's, I bet how karma works is how it's going to have. You won't even use the skips.
That's great. You know, so it's.
A good reassurance.
So yeah, if people don't know, we did this years ago, whenever I lived in Kelowna, we brought it back last year. So one time tournament, we do some also extra life or some gaming during GBA as well. But yeah, For this, we do a full how many people we got tournament. It's a weird hybrid of, it's not a round robin, because sometimes.
We can't keep a round for the whole stream.
It's about six rounds where there's two rounds, which are 1v1 matches. There's one round that's a free-for-all, so it's all of us put together in different selections of four versus four, three and three, whatever. Then there's a team's round, and then there, if there's needed, a semifinals round. Everybody starts with four points.
You win. You get two more points. You lose. You get nothing. You can also bet.
So if I think, hey, if I see Dylan versus Taylor and Taylor got Galactic Racers and for some reason Dylan didn't skip and think he can take them, then I'm going to go, okay. Then I'm going to bet on Taylor. If he wins, that's how he– if he wins and then I get points. That's how– I only won one game last year and I.
Got to the semifinals with Tyler Sarris just based on my betting. So the betting can make or break you as we saw with Wii Sports. So that's going to be happening tomorrow. Um, and then what else?
So we have us for, I can announce the rest of the people. Now, obviously there's always people that could show up, could drop out. If people show up unannounced or people drop out, uh, not planned, some of these one-on-one matches would be changed into a, uh, into a three-way situation, which we'll figure out, uh, the, or four, whichever the numbers is, we'll figure out the day of, we are going to bring up the pool here in a second, but, oh yeah, maybe, uh, Actually, no, I'm not going to do the wheel yet. Tune in next week.
Cause Taylor and I will be reviewing vision quest on the Wednesday.
I'll do the wheel. Cause I also got a bracket, some more matches. And I actually haven't bracketed all the matches and who's versing who yet. So we'll next Wednesday, full bracket will be announced at the tournament, but I can announce that a.
Dog, no doggo after the wrestling match. Him and Taylor were having issues, so we couldn't get along. So I give Taylor a favor. Hidalgo's out this year. He might still be in the Wolf Order.
He might not be. He needs to. He disrespected Taylor a little bit. So he's sitting out. So he's out. Neil Robon. I tried. I tried to get Ruben. He was like, oh, maybe.
No.
No schedule.
But we got Tyler Sarris coming back last year. Got to his first finals. First off with Dylan. We'll see what happens there.
That was a spicy matchup that we had in the finals.
That was a spicy matchup. So we'll see if... And I can actually announce some things in a second there. So you got that going on. And then the man himself, a former semi-wolf order person, a man who is actually a finalist.
Funny enough, I forgot because I was looking at history and I forgot my favorite combo ever of Kyle Smith and Amber in the finals for the second ever tournament.
That was the finals there. I was watching back today. They played... rockstar ping pong i forgot they played uh they played.
Strikers together i think we picked it because they both weren't really like familiar with it too much so it was a wild because i was watching back me and amber's match of nhl i forgot everyone look at the video if people don't know it's me and amber versing and whatever nhl that year and we go six to six and we go in overtime those last two minutes the crowd is is bumping it was a spicy time but uh so kyle smith is back And I can announce two other people, again, just right in the nick of time. Someone returning to the tournament and someone playing the first time ever. We are bringing it in. And there may be some bias here in the top corner.
Mother of my children, Emily Brost. And then Taylor Field's wife, Madison Field.
What?
Is going to be in the tournament. Now, Dylan, I did make them some deals. And I did tell them about the looming threat of you. And I said, hey, if you guys come in, I'll let you guys pick a game.
Any game you want. Even if Dylan needs to skip, he can't use it. So I tried.
What the hell is this? That's bullshit.
You're okay.
Because it didn't work. Madison chose Taylor to play. And they couldn't agree on a game. So what they're going to be doing, Dylan, you'll like this. And Dylan, I want you to start cooking this up. I want you to pick what you think is the fairest that could get as the best matchup for Taylor versus Madison in UFO 50.
What game would work for them?
Pure luck-based is, like, the best. If there's any game in there where, like, skill-based gives you an edge.
Well, we did a lot of Quibble Race last year with the horse racing one where you drug up your guys. That could work.
So something like that. So Dylan's going to think about that. So Mass and Feel for the first time ever is entering the Gauntlet Tournament.
She's been around. We've had some match stuff, but never Gauntlet Tournament. So that's going to be happening.
There's a deck-building game where you have to throw the best house party. That could be a good one, too. Because it's pretty slow-paced. Like, there's not really technical skill.
Slow, simple, lock-based.
So that could work, too. That's perfect.
Yeah. So you got that.
And then, again, the ladies must have cohorted. Went against me. Emily did not pick you, Dylan. She picked me.
And we're going to run it back in Goldeneye. So we only think it's fair.
Oh, that's awesome. That was one of my favorite matches of all time.
Yeah.
Going back to the Dylan's Basement era.
I'm going to repost that match. It was a great match.
I think it's only fair that round two in this tournament is going to be 1v1s. but it's going to be called the call your shot round. And what's going to happen is Dylan, you said it was spicy. We're going to have you and Sarah's go back at again, and you guys get to pick a game. And then Kirkland and Kyle are going to pick a game. So I think that's only fair. Everybody can pick a game.
We've got those ladies in there. So the first round is going to be completely random matchups, random games.
So the second round, we're doing a rematch of the finals last year of Dylan versus Sarah's. They get to pick whatever they want. And then Kirkland versus Kyle, they can pick whatever they want. So there's a preview for round two. That's what it's going to be. That's your nice, Rack right there. Taylor versus Madison. Me versus Emily in Goldeneye.
Dylan versus Saris in TBD. And then Kyle versus Kirkland TBD. And then round one, we'll see. Well, next week, we're going to spin the whole round or spin the wheel. Taylor Field, I heard something on Star Wars Alliance today that Clay feels pretty confident that he could whoop your butt in Galactic Racer.
Is that what he was saying? He was saying it. So I don't know.
He was trying to get some air time or whatnot. So pretty much what I was saying at some point in the stream. And I think it actually would happen after the trivia battle.
So I apologize. Because that's when they're online already. Would you accept a matchup with the Stars Alliance crew? Both Katie and Clay challenge you. Galactic Racer online.
Yeah, I accept. I accept. I like my odds. And you know why I like my odds?
You've not seen the race. You don't know what's happening. No, no, no.
But you know why I like my odds? Because this guy... He was struggling against Sebulba that first Galactic Tour.
And where was I?
I beat the whole fucking campaign. The whole game. And he couldn't get past Sebulba. I'm not scared of this guy. Let's go. I'm ready.
Okay. I'm excited.
Taylor wants us on the stream. People have been hyped about it. And, hey, Katie, Clay, I love you.
I love Star Wars Alliance. I love the Ultimate Network. But, you know, at that point, it's going to be Taylor on the sticks and all the GV crew watching them. You're going to have all of us supporting them, watching it going on. So there you go. Galactic Racer.
Clay and katie from star wars lines versus ti it's not a 1v3 1v2 they're all going to be in the same pool but uh so that's going to be happening uh let's see what else is there in the midnight we're going to do some halloween gaming because i want to see dylan and kirkland on the sticks there so we're going to do kind of like a spooky hour we're going to do that and then i don't know if dylan's played it if he hasn't then he can get in there but i was gonna dylan throw kirkland to.
The wolves in the leon must die for resident evil rec i've not played that no Oh, then let's throw you in there, too. I'm going to get in there for fun anyways, because obviously we've got Resident Evil themed shirts.
We've got a lot of Rez stuff going on. So in the spooky hours around the midnight stuff, we're going to be doing Halloween.
We're going to do Resident Evil.
And then obviously random stuff throughout to end the stream off, to have some fun, to say adieu to the game before we get number six.
We're going to be doing a GTA six star wanted most wanted challenge. I don't know what the fuck it's called. I'll figure it out.
Hit by the cops, start causing crimes in the real world.
Not in real life.
No, what we're going to do is we're all going to take a turn in GTA V, and we're going to play it, and we're going to get up to six star. And the second someone gets to six star, we start that timer, and we can see who can last the longest.
So that's where we're going to set the record. So you've got to drive, you've got to run, you've got to stay alive. Do you understand, Taylor?
Any cheats being used?
No, I think just regular, right? Okay. Or why would you recommend cheats?
Just, like, spawn, like, weapons is what I was thinking. Because it's actually really hard to get six stars.
Sure.
Let's do that. However to get fastest, because I.
Want it to be fastest. There's also a cheat that, like, makes you have six stars, right?
Let's do that, then. We could do the weapons, though, too.
But let's do the cheats where you get the weapons and you get the six stars. And then someone starts a timer. And whoever lasts the longest with the six stars.
And not trying to escape. Like, not trying to, like, oh, hide and get rid of the stars. Just whoever can last the longest before they're either arrested or wasted.
Yeah, if you lose your stars, you just get disqualified.
Yeah, I think that's the end of your round then. That's like, okay, that's how long you lasted then. So that's what we're going to do. We're going to say a bit of due. And I think it would be fun to play maybe in the morning when we're a little loopy and whatnot.
So, yeah, there you go.
The full schedule will be posted. Next week, we're going to go over all the unlocks as well. So, to end this episode, we will do the What We've Been Watching. Now, is there anything other than the two main event things.
That we've watched? I only have, like, a few for me. But, Dylan, you got the finger waving.
Quick one. Holiday season, I watched a horror movie. I watched the this year's hokum and i really enjoyed it i thought it was really really great great uh cinematography uh the story was really good the acting uh acting was good uh i feel like it's hard hard one for me to like talk about why i think it's interesting without spoilers so i don't know how much like how many spoilers i don't I think.
It'd be like, is it just hit prime? We, we will. I personally, I don't think for everything, but I think we will talk about come golden geeks time. Like I have in some categories.
I guess I'll put it this way. I'll just, there's a lot of like meta narrative stuff going on in terms of like meta about like storytelling. And that's like to do with the character being a writer and endings and things like this. And a lot of that stuff I found really compelling. And then also just, that's maybe more in the spoilery territory so i'll leave it at that i just think the movie does a lot of really interesting things with its with its meta narrative and its overarching narrative like the actual story is pretty simple itself but there's a lot of ways that the movie kind of subverts that and yeah i just think the the visuals are really really great uh between like the main location that it's told in and like certain some
of the cinematography and shots and uh yeah there's a lot of like jump scare kind of moments, but I thought they were all like really tasteful, really like good tension buildup moments, not like cheap jump scares. So I just thought it was a really quality movie and I, uh, I quite enjoyed it.
That's great because now, uh, I'm sure Kirk will watch it, but I think, cause I don't know if it would have been mine, but I think me and Taylor talked, it would have been maybe one of our picks for, uh, Golden Geese.
I love a lot of things in there. So that's great. I'm glad you enjoyed that.
So yeah.
Taylor, what about you? Other than, uh, Vision Quest, what you got cooking?
Oh, what do I got cooking? Let's just the little letterbox here and see uh yeah i feel like i highlighted a few of these things on um after nine i haven't really.
Dived into anything yeah because we did talk there but yeah.
There was actually we did practical magic as i was gonna put on the cycle medicine's like i'm feeling something more like comedic so i was thinking like beetlejuice beetlejuice but then thought oh you know practical magic is there never seen it before and didn't really do it for me i i i just felt kind of like a push to watch it just because the second one is out right now but i don't think i'm gonna go back and i don't think i'm gonna watch the second one i think i'm gonna watch the first one again so yeah but actually um fuck what was that one called so my my co-worker today was telling me A movie I need to see called Unforgiven. 1992 with Clint Eastwood.
Oh, yeah. One of the greatest questions of all time.
I've never seen it before. You were talking about Gene Hackman and Richard Harris. Because we were talking about Richard Harris specifically and how he was in here. And just, yeah. Amazing movie, apparently. So that's one that I kind of bumped up on my list that I want to see.
Mr.
Potter. Yeah.
Welcome to Hogwarts. The superior Dumbledore. Can we all agree? I fucking... I guess we got John Lithgow, but I love Richard Harris' Dumbledore.
He is. I don't know. It's hard for me to picture him in those scenes like in Order of the Phoenix where he's fighting. You know, can I picture Richard Harris in that scene fighting Voldemort?
Can you picture him doing this?
I mean, I think I could. I think you just get a very different type of Dumbledore, obviously, in that. But, I mean, I could see it.
You know, I thought that guy's name forever was Michael Gambino, but Emily informed me it's just Michael Gambon, the other Dumbledore.
So I had a whole Mattel effect. Yeah. So yeah. Yeah. No, I got nothing else.
I just watched it. Like, just like I watched Friday the 13th remake. Cause after that, we talked about that being the best one.
Watch that. I've been watching the Crystal Lake documentary. Cause that's been good.
I watched Halloween H2O. I really liked that one with Jamie Lee. But these are things I've kind of hit on before. We even talked about like on after I a little bit.
Just, knocking off like some Halloween favorites.
Like I said, I got shining still going on trick or treat, but, uh, yeah, that's about, uh, Oh, I watched Oakland.
I was just gonna say the Halloween H2O theme is great. Like when she gets her kid out and she closes the gate and then she turns around and walk up the campus. Oh, that theme starts kicking in. I tried to find it on Spotify, but I couldn't find it.
The only thing that sucks is the guy that scored the movies.
I mean, it scores a screen movie and they, they share, share a lot of similarities in the soundtrack at times.
And it's a little, uh, distracting. So, okay.
Yeah.
So, all right. So Dylan, is there something you could do 10, 15?
Well, let me, let me ask you guys a question and then I can do something, which is that I need to get my, uh, doom, dune and doomsday tickets. So maybe I'll do that while you guys are doing this, but, but I need some questions answered. there's something about taylor maybe can or cannot see both these movies in one day if that's the case are we doing reviews on thursday and friday or is no matter what are both reviews happening thursday and taylor you get fucked if you can't make it is that so.
He's there now at one point we because at one point they.
You guys are taking off work or something so you can go see these movies early in the day is that the plan.
Yeah yeah yeah because yeah we have one of one f We have one at 1, and then the other... Because at first, the West Side showings here, Dylan, they were awful for Dune and Doomsday. They were like... Let's just say one was at 1, and then one was like 8, and.
They didn't... Is Infinity Vision the stupid shit on the side? Is that what Infinity Vision.
No, that's the new thing that Marvel's doing, but it's just... It's nothing. It's just... It's a gimmick, but.
Because that's the only thing that's at 1 p.m. for me, and that's Dune for 8.
You're fine. That's what we're seeing in Infinity Vision.
It's because they don't have IMAX screens, Dylan, so that's why they're calling it like, oh, we don't need IMAX.
You need that, so.
No, at one point today it was out, but then we found there was other showings in Kelowna. Just the west side was awful.
And Doomsday is what, three hours probably?
No, so Dune 3 is two and a half, and Doomsday is 2.45.
Okay, so if I see Doomsday at 3 p.m., I can see Dune at 6.30 p.m.
Perfect. And our showing is actually at 6.30 as well. Okay, so again, these.
Doomsday tickets have been up for months, so I don't even know if there's seats, but I'm just.
Now looking at this.
Okay, that's what I will do while you guys go on Vision Quest. Go on your quests, and I will join you sometime.
Alright, Taylor. So we're ripping and gripping for these. What did you think of episodes 5 and 6? Some highlights, some lowlights, that type of stuff.
Yeah, holy smokes. What I can appreciate is that the timing of this... Okay, that's it.
You're done. So I thought... Yeah.
With AI just being in the position that it is right now in the world, you know, like AI is just sneaking into people's bank accounts, you know, doing some weird shit lately. Oh, yeah.
And then here it is.
You have just this show just really focusing on AI, giving AI these personalities, and just they've really emphasized AI... dropping the firewall and getting out there and just fucking around, uh, you know, in the, in the, in the world a little bit more, especially Edith. Um, but I, I like it in this context. Like I, I like seeing, uh, what Ultron's doing. Ultron, he's just fucking, he's ready to just have, uh, God, JavaScript sex. You know, he's, he's going in, uh, God damn. He's the malware. He's running with it. He's just him and Jocasta, uh, Like I said, Jocasta, they have really, really good chemistry together. What are you laughing about?
I got to laugh at Gabriel Stowe. I've listened to you all for years, never imagined this is what you looked like.
I'm shook. I don't know if that's a good shirk or bad.
Especially, Gabriel, you're a Facebook commenter, so I'm surprised our faces are on there. Hopefully it didn't disappoint, but thanks for listening. But I just laughed. I was just like, I've never imagined.
I'll do this, Gabriel. You know, if it makes you feel better.
We all look like this.
Yeah.
You know, that kind of makes it easier for you. Oh, you came back for me.
Dylan's like vision quest glitching out, but yeah.
Yeah, I think that the chemistry between Jocasta... Ultron. I fricking love it. I'm eating it.
Those, those were like, I liked both these episodes quite a bit. These actually might be my favorite two episodes. Funny enough.
Cause we're doing like the mini reviews, but again, we just did this because like numbers were what they were, which makes sense, you know?
So look at that. Nah, you're all awesome. Thank you. We're all very much appreciate the kind words. So thank you. Come, come on. Yeah, exactly. If you're, if you're here, you're awesome.
Um, no, that like, there's a lot of the things I liked in these episodes, but the vision or sort of the ultra under cost of stuff, was great.
They had a good chemistry going on.
I can't remember the actress's name, but I really like her. She's from a blind manner and some other stuff, but.
I really like her. I love this idea. They both have things they want from each other. She has that info. She wants that information from that lady's face to, you know, do whatever.
Yeah.
The biometrics mumbo jumbo, all that stuff. So that's cool.
And then Ultron just wants to, a similar thing to her wants to just feel something right. And that moment in the end of episode two, when she gave him that drink and he started to like, feel a little bit human, um, And, like, his eyes, like, James Spader is fucking incredible. Do I think they'd ever bring him back to be, like.
A movie villain?
No, but I just, like, how good Spader is, it's almost like I'm going to be disappointed if this is the end of Ultron, you know, for, like, good now. Like, to me, this should open the door to we should get him more, even if there's, like, a Masters of Villain. It's, like, multiple villains, like, get him in there. But I thought all the stuff with Jakasa, like, you alluded to, Taylor, the AI stuff, taking over them, trying to, fine programming and skip town and do all this stuff and just talking about different ways to well do we blow up the world or do we try to like improve it our way i thought it was uh really really good stuff that's that to me has been the highlight of the show was ultron and jakasa so far so.
Yeah i mean and just the way that she's thinks she's in charge and like puts a virus in him and then he gets locked in chains and she's like, you know, I'm going to rewrite your code, cut it up, da, da, da. And he starts laughing and he just fucking shakes the chains off and stands there and she's all freaked out, you know, pressed against the wall. I love that. It's just such a, the way they talk, like, are you know if we get together there'll be casualties kind of a thing and all that like i really just like their dynamic on his turf and then her turf and then just culminating and yeah you learn about her backstory where you know like you were talking about the discord stark just he sees something he likes he just fucking
buys it which i'm okay with that i think it totally fits with his mo it really.
Does it does i guess i'm just tired it's only happened like twice or you can even say three times technically because he takes over the weapons company from his dad right but just like the whole barf tech you have jake joe on the back like watching it now it's like oh you know jarvis well he actually bought that tech from somebody else now granted yes he's a scientist we've seen him do the iron man suit and everything but i just felt like okay jar to jarvis to me like a big one it's not like a it's not like a negative i just like I kind of rolled my eyes of like, okay.
Of course Stark bought Jarvis, I guess.
There's an interesting note, too, and I can't remember where it was, but he... Oh, maybe I'm actually conflicting it. I'm getting it confused with actually The Dark Knight Rises. Fuck. Okay, that's totally different because Anne Hathaway wanted to get the.
We're not reviewing that.
He, she wanted to get the, the rewrite your, you know, fresh, fresh life code or whatever, the technology for that. And Bruce Wayne bought it.
The clean slate.
The clean slate. He bought it just to keep it as a dead end. And I just kind of think kind of that maybe Tony does that. Why should other people have this tech when I should have it? And maybe I'll buy things just to keep it, you know, say it's a dead end, but really it works. And I, I, I own it. Right. No one else has it. Keep it out of other people's hands.
Yeah.
No, so all that stuff was good. What did you feel about Paladin this week? We got some origin stuff where he got blipped. So there you go. We found his little helpers in AI. He has a daughter that he hasn't seen in five years.
The helper thing. Oh, my God. And it's fucking it's funny, too, because, again, this is there are things that I see like and I don't say it on the review. I forget because, yeah, like we're named Lily. Her turning into like AI thing or whatever.
I thought, you know what?
I could see like Jocasta taking over her or something like that. And she's like, what the fuck happened? That happens. And then in today's, like this episode, yeah, it's funny because someone was actually talking about Paladin's lady being an AI and thinking, oh fuck, yeah, it makes sense. It's going to be an AI because of just how that works.
And sure enough, Edith reaffirms that whole thing here in this episode, which I thought it was great because that AI didn't waste any fucking time and got the hell out of there and basically, screw you, Paladin, I'm out. But I think you get to see definitely another side of Paladin here. Obviously, they're trying to make him the semi-good guy, anti-hero.
Exactly what we thought was going to happen.
Exactly what we thought.
He didn't put a bomb in Tommy's arm. He put a fucking toy, which, did you have to go that far? That looks painful.
I know, right? He could literally just say, hey, I put a bomb in you. Like, while you're asleep, I put it down your throat.
You get too far, you're going to fucking explode. And it's just like, that's where for me again, pal, then like so far, it's just, he's been, uh, the biggest con on the show as far as what they've talked about.
He doesn't fit.
I don't feel like what they brought up his history to be like putting fake bombs and people. And it's what we call episode. I think it was up to one or two when they, or no, I think it was last week when they were talking about him, like getting the job and he's all this down now. We're like, Oh, that's what's going to happen is, He's going to still go after his job, and him and Vision are going to be put in a situation where they've got to work together reluctantly. That's the only thing where I think there's a lot of unpredictable things with the show, and that's where Paladin just sticks out like a sore thumb.
That feels like the bad Disney Plus stuff of there's nothing that special with the story. The best thing we got from his story to me was Vision threatening him of him like, oh, you don't know my daughter.
And Vision's like, actually, I know her way better than you. I know she drives this.
She goes to work at this time when her elbow hurts in the cold. And I love when Vision was like, oh, and you just don't know what could happen. Like, AI could, like, burn her house down due to the temperature going too high. He listed, like, all these ways he could just fucking, like, take out his daughter by just, like, hacking in.
Yeah, so I love that Vision. Vision was scary there.
And that's the best thing we got, though, was just using him as, like, a plot device, right? So I was hoping he'd die in this episode.
He didn't.
Paladine continues to go forth. So, again, anytime he comes in the show, I just... And I clearly think now it's a writing thing, not even an acting thing. I think it's just what they want them to do. And yeah, I'm just still not digging it.
I really was not digging that. Like, oh, I guess we got to work together now. I'm going to hear it live.
It's just exactly what we thought was going to happen. And not that one of those things where it's like, oh, you exactly think it's going to happen. And the great storytelling leads you there. Like, oh, that's why it makes sense. It just feels like we've been here before with this type of character arc or character type. And it's just, it's not doing much for me. Like, I think you could take him out of the show. If he would not have been around since episode two, I think the show would be better for it, you know?
Yeah, I would agree. Yeah, and he just has an energy to him that I'm not really a big fan of. Even when Tommy and the girl get into his van and he's like, oh, you know, the oxygen will come back on if you answer this riddle. Just kidding, there's no riddle. He's like, why are you putting that kind of stuff in there?
Oh, I know.
That whole video thing, I just, like, fuck off. I don't, I just, I'm not finding this anything. The show does have some humor, but I just feel like his is, again, very, like, goofy type of humor. I guess there's, like, even Edith, I feel like she has, like, a childlike humor. She's not completely, like, goofy, right? And he just feels so.
Well, yeah, with Edith, yeah, when Jocasta and Ultron are, like, flirting and whatnot, and Edith, like, rolls back on the couch, just, like, disgusted and stuff. I think that's cute, and it is funny. just like playing up her, her young programming and whatnot. Also shout outs to when they're talking about the bosses they've had, either says mine was a teenager and you get that Spider-Man theme in there. I was like, Oh yeah, that is some good shit right there. Really good. Are you going there?
Are you going where I think you're going to go?
You can go there. You can go there.
I mean, I, the last fucking thing I ever would have expected was, was, you know, a buddy from Iron Man 1, Mr. Raza, leader of the Ten Rings.
Genital missiles.
Yeah, genital missile. Coming in here with big Obadiah Stane fucking energy about him.
Like, holy shit. Adamantium guns.
Adamantium guns. He's got drone frequency displacement things on his hip. You know, he's got amazing sword combat skills. Now, this guy is fucking.
Oh, I know. He's trying to take Al Paladin.
He's taking Al Paladin. Like, god damn. He's not dead.
No, he survived the blast and everything.
And what a fucking leap from Iron Man 1 to get all the way to here. I just laugh because if people listen to the last in-person cast with you, me, and Kirkland, we were memeing on the.
Whole, like, Jericho Missiles, you build stuff.
We were memeing and doing jokes about Tony Stark in the cave and we were talking about this guy.
Someone's listening to us. I'm convinced.
Do they do this shit? They shot this show so long ago. It's funny, now that the character's here, at one point, because I had heard cause I got spoiled on this before I watched it, which was fine. I'm not like, Oh my God.
But when he was introduced to the show, I thought, okay, one, that's fun. And I think they use them good enough here. I didn't buy the whole, like you have five minutes. I was like, what do you do that?
I guess. Sure. But okay.
He gives us five minutes, but I thought he was going to be the mystery guy, like trying to tell vision, like, you know, at the end of the episode where it's like, Oh, your heart is lost and all that stuff. So when I heard he was back in the show, I'm like, Oh, that would make sense. I guess they're going to make this guy like, the big bad and title back to Tony, but no, he's still not the big bad.
He's just like another kind of, he's looking.
For that, that next suit upgrade still. He is all these years.
Yeah. Um, any more theories on who the ultimate secret person is?
I thought it was, I thought it was, um, Ultron at first, but then it's like, no, they're just pen pals. Ultron was talking to Paladin the whole time, just having a hoot, right? When Ultron was in his.
Bounty hunter message board, right? Yeah.
Yeah. I love that he makes the point of saying that I can't, I'm going to, I can't believe I said it. I'm going to say it again, but, um, uh, like watching the bounty, yeah, the bounty hunter message boards. That was just, that was hilarious. Um, but who it is now. I mean, I, I just don't know. I mean, that part of me thinks like, God, they, they make it.
Seem very much that it's Wanda. It's not Wanda, but that's what I'm trying to imply. Right.
With like, Oh, like, You're living these memories, but you don't have the heart. I can give you the heart. I can give you the feeling. I don't think it's that. It's got to be another AI, right?
I think it'd be another AI.
I guess the only thing would... I would have thought Agatha, but she's a fucking ghost. I don't think that's what's happening now. I've seen a terrible theory, and I really hope it's not that. I've heard a theory that it's Ralph Boner, because he's the connective thread through all of them, and I.
And he was there fucking sense.
You have a lot of stuff with Ralph Boner. It makes sense. Right. So I really don't want that as much as I like Evan Peters. Uh, they wasted that big time.
I don't care if anyone, what anyone thinks that was just like poor execution, poor writing. It's looked at as one of those like top five Marvel bad things for a reason, right?
The MCU.
So I, I, I, I would think in the state there are now in the MCU, it's not best to invoke that again, but, um, I really have no idea.
I feel like they're, they're walking. That'd be huge.
Yeah.
To me, it's just like, I think they're walking on a big tightrope right now. And I think this reveal now, that especially this week had such a big ending, really has to, not really has to deliver me, but I think for some people, if it doesn't deliver, it's going to be a big mark on the series.
So, I don't know. I have no theories right now, but they're definitely just making it look like it'd be Wanda. But I know it's not Wanda.
And it's not Billy?
I don't think so, because again, why wouldn't he just go there? Why wouldn't he just go there? Why is he threatening Vision? Why wouldn't he just go and scream like, I'm your second son?
True, but then, I mean, why wouldn't Wanda? But at this point, it's like.
But Wanda's dead.
If Billy is confirmed to be earlier on in the episode, why is he hiding, right?
Apparently the showrunner said that's not him, so I don't know anymore now.
I'm sorry, but it fucking... why would you put a guy in there that looks exactly like fucking Billy?
It was a mistake.
It was a mistake.
My only three other points I had for this to shut it was one, the first episode, everything with Ultron and the son, Tommy, that was great stuff.
The dinner, everything. I really love the Ultron thing. Oh, what's wrong with me? And he's like, connect Thomas's connection. You're never going to feel it. And for the second Ultron like tracks that because it's like, yeah, he knows all this stuff could do all this stuff.
But he and he's researched everything about mankind. He has not felt connection. Now, obviously, we're seeing that with Jocasta. That's what I'm interested to see is how much is he feeling it and how much is he forcing himself to feel. But I thought that was a really great scene with him and Tommy.
On that note, too, to piggyback it, you also have. Ultron and this is what the original Vision just wanted to see Ultron kind of grow and change into but you have Ultron drop that line that Vision said in Age of Ultron there's grace in their failings and so Snow Vision just kind of like tweaks out a little bit of that like oh shit he maybe is changing and that's why he let Ultron go he gave him the hat so I feel like maybe as much as Ultron is bewildered by Jocasta I don't trust that he's there and is wholeheartedly invested with.
I feel like there's still something there. I just really don't want the play to, he actually goes full on like, I could save.
Humanity and like, I'm a good guy. I don't want him to face turn. And I think there's, I think that could happen. I think he could have a slightly good guy turn.
And I don't really want that.
I think it could. I think it could. Yeah. Yeah.
Um, I really liked at one point when Paladine was just like, Oh yeah, WandaVision. And then he says like, Oh yeah, Vision was built to kill your mother. And they had this big reveal. And then I had it in my point as a negative, but then I took it back because Tommy was like, oh, well, I'm sure he didn't tell me for a good reason.
And it's like, well, yeah, also, like, Tommy shouldn't be an idiot. Like, Vision has no choice why he was created. He didn't choose. So at first when they're making, like, a big reveal and Tommy's going to be mad, it's like, oh, don't do this. You were trying to kill my mother? It's like, he was a fucking robot, man.
You know, but I like that Tommy clocked that and was like, well, he didn't tell me for a reason and they seem to be good, so.
I enjoyed that they didn't go that route.
And then my last point, when they put, like, the virus stuff in his girlfriend there, and, you know, they finally kiss and good for them. And then he tried to, like, shake it out by, like, doing this, like, phasing with her. I was like, imagine he just ripped her fucking head off.
Like, I could save you. And then, like, he was just, like, again, he went from zero to 100 real quick with these powers.
There's no way he knew if that would fucking work. Like, yeah, Vision's like, oh, her vitals are barely... barely there like of course they're.
Yeah he's just he's just come on they're alive.
And like i said he was like i was worried for her neck i was like is that what's gonna happen he's an accident killer but.
Uh uh no i think some really strong episodes and i guess next.
Week's already the penultimate so we'll be back on the wednesday and we got a weekly geek but then we'll talk about them but is there anything else from the set of episodes that we hit on.
No, I think that's it. Well, I guess Friday got onto the World Wide Web too and followed Ultron into Jocasta's little thing there and pretended to be a bot. So that was pretty hype. And Dumb and E.
You.
You. Dummy and You. They're both talking now and they're much more... They've evolved a little bit as well. Yeah. Everything about this so far is just... This is awesome. This is a fantastic show.
Yeah. I agree.
So.
There you go, Taylor. We're done for this week for you there. I'll summon Dylan back. There he is.
Oh, he's lurking here.
When will we see you next day? I guess, yeah. Text me about Friday when you know what's going on. Oh, I guess no. Tomorrow, Halloween stream.
Thursday stream.
Yeah, Halloween. There you go.
Happy Halloween, Taylor.
Happy Halloween, Dylan.
There you go. See you guys later. See you. All right, Dylan.
Hello.
We saw everything. We talked about everything.
I will say... I feel like there's not much to say in the non-spoiler section. I would just recommend you go see this. I think the only, not the only thing, but I could say that I feel this works. If you're a Nathan Fielder fan, it works the best if you have seen his other stuff. But I actually think there is quite a bit of way that you can enter this not knowing his other stuff. I think it just enhances the experience, but that's my only non-spoiler stuff.
Other than that, I wouldn't really have much to say non-spoilers. That's why I was going to tell people they hadn't to, you know, swim away.
So. Yeah, no, I think that's probably pretty apt because this is kind of a very weird convergence of ideas where a lot of people who were following the story of Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes and stuff are coming into this just to see it for that story. And then there's also the people like me who are the Nathan Fielder people. And I feel like the overlap there is probably extremely small. Or people like me who just started learning about Elizabeth Holmes the last few weeks, kind of getting ready for this. So yeah, I do feel like it kind of, could be a good jumping in point for anyone. But yeah, I feel like as a Nathan Fielder fan, I was very, very well rewarded here for my hard work and diligence of watching all of this
stuff for the last 10 years or whatever.
I put in my letterbox that the most successful cinematic universe next to the MCU is the NFCU. And that is the Nathan Fielder cinematic universe, because now we'll jump in the spoilers.
It's not necessarily the rehearsal.
Season three, because it's like a weird thing where before he'd always like play out the scenario and then do it. It's like, it's the, obviously we'll get to that. There's a reverse that, but it feels very much like, I.
Mean, there's a sequence in it that is in this doc. That is just an episode of the rehearsal or something.
Yeah. So that's where it's like, it just feels like, I don't know how, cause what's so interesting, like, and it's like a weird comparison. Cause you've only watched a little bit, but stay with me where it's.
Just, when you have characters that are like in Star Wars, Marvel, DC, they stay consistent because they're in that brand.
Right.
The only thing I've ever seen close to this is like when wrestlers switch companies and they keep like little things of their personality traits from that company.
It's like, oh, well, he's still that.
Like Travis Snail's playing, let's just say like the Smasher, right? And it's like, well, now the Smasher does this.
He does that. He takes some stuff over. But Nathan Fielder and like Nathan for you, for rehearsal, for this. Am I missing anything? I feel like I'm missing something. one other thing in those.
Well the curse but that is kind of like a.
Yeah right that's more accurate yeah but still even like the promotion of the curse had like lots of like the promotional tour stuff he did with emma stone had like traces of the nathan for you character stuff it's just like it's so impressive that he i just feel like he has such a concise clear point on his character and what works and i think obviously some of it is just him as a person so that's easy but there's clearly some character stuff and there's things in here i'm like you don't have.
To do this in a doc.
You don't have to have the things where if you've watched all these shows that you either get the reference or almost know what he's thinking or you think you know what the character's thinking. I'm just in awe of the doc, but more so just the Nathan Fielder lore and how concise it still is. I feel like it's an IP that he's just crafted just so specifically.
But yeah, it was incredible.
Yeah, no, I absolutely loved it. I mean, it's like three hours long, right? But I was glued in from start to finish. And, you know, going in, I really, I think anything with Nathan, like even when we had the trailers for rehearsal season two, it's like, I don't know what the F this is about, right? Like it's so hard to tell from the way his stuff is marketed, like what you're going to get from it. And I think that was like, especially true for this, for me here.
It's like, oh, this is a documentary from him. And like, I didn't really know much about the Theranos or Elizabeth Holmes story up until like a week or two ago. uh, before seeing the movie. And so coming into this, I was like, I, the expectations were in a weird spot where I really didn't know what it would be about.
And then obviously some of the trailers were just very strange too. And it's hard to get like much of a vibe. Uh, and I think I was very surprised in that, like, yeah, it was very, it was not a documentary about Theranos, like at all. Right. Like there's like literally a paragraph about what happened with that story.
And then obviously they talk about some of the, a lot of the things that occurred in it, but it's not like a retelling of, in the way that a lot of documentaries are. It's not trying to fill you in on the story. It's a documentary about... I don't even know what it's about. It's about Elizabeth Holmes as a human being. It's about Nathan Fielder as a human being.
It's about Billy... What's his last name?
Oh, I don't know.
Billy something. We'll just call the husband Billy. He's in it a lot. He probably even gets more screen time than Elizabeth Holmes, I feel like, in terms of how much he's in this thing. It's really just about these people and their connection. I think there, there's so many layers to it, but I think what you mentioned there of like the, the, the Nathan of it all is, is what's so compelling to me, obviously as like a, as a big fan of his stuff. Cause yeah, when you go back to like the first thing he did on that show, what is it called? This hour has 22 minutes where you had like the Nathan on your side bit, which was like, you know, it was like him in that character, the Nathan Fielder character. Obviously this
segment was named after him, And then you go to Nathan for you, which is like, obviously his name is in the show once again. And it's like he is playing himself, but it's like we have to assume it's a heightened version of himself, right? And then he's like, you know, he's more awkward in this than he is in real life. Or he's like little changes here or there.
And then, of course, it's like they record a ton because it's not a scripted show. And then they edit it down to like the most compelling stuff. And then the rehearsal, his name's not in the show, but it's very much about him as a guy. And so I wondered, like, even just the concept of this being a documentary and him almost being like a little bit more removed from the character of it. It's almost like, in a sense, this should be like the most. Oh, I just lost Travis here.
Travis.
Travis is all gone. I guess he was tired of what I had to say about this.
I don't know.
What happened i hit the back button.
My internet is so bad that i assumed my internet dropped but that's not what happened um but no i i you know like where we're at with this is like with with the documentary setup of this to me it seemed like we're almost the most removed from like nathan as a character and this is probably going to be the closest to like reality in terms of what he's like but we still have no idea what this guy is like in real life and the differences between him as a human him as like this character that he plays which is himself in name and in stature and all this and then like the reality of it and I think that's why I find this documentary so compelling is because the whole documentary is about like Elizabeth
Holmes how authentic is she but at the same time like that's Nathan's whole career and why I find him so fascinating especially with the rehearsal and season one and two for different reasons, but you know, big part of season two where it's like, man, I, I don't know how authentic this guy is and how real this is.
And that's the whole thing with Nathan is reality. And like, what, what is real? What isn't? And so having this parallel between her, who's like this, you know, been said to be this master manipulator and this, this person who, lies constantly, but she tells you she's never lied in her life or whatever. And then him as this guy who's like, yeah.
And then him as this guy who's like, you know, he is playing himself, but there's always these layers are moving. You never really know what's real. And I just think the parallel between those two people is extremely compelling in a way that I could never have expected. And I think that was like the thing I was most grabbing onto in here. And yeah, again, it's like not something I could have ever expected. It's just, it's totally... i could never have expected what this thing was going to be like but i just came away from it like just engaged by so many different elements of it.
Yeah it's like a ultimate jedi master versus a sith lord it's like but it's also like you don't know which is which obviously she would be the sith if she's you know guilty for i'm assuming for what she did because like that's you know you just go with the core system was and set and everything but Um.
Yeah, it's, it, it is interesting.
That's where I found interesting too, where he'd said at one point, he didn't know if he was actually going to be in the doc, like Nathan field, like he would obviously direct and everything, but he didn't know about that. But once that dynamic kind of happens and kind of sees how close they went, like, and again, though, how, like either how close they went or the footage they got and they could just make it say, Oh, let's make it look, we got closer. Because like at one point, like, and this is where it's like two defining things for me of like the movie and like the Nathan filler character when they're in her, uh, kitchen whatever and they're looking at the water and she's somewhat going for a
swim and he's like I don't know I don't know if I should go for a swim with you and then he looks like he like looks longingly like he wants to like nah nah I'm not gonna do that and then we learn later on that they did go for a swim together right and that's.
Where they're like holding hands and splashing.
And that's where it's like is he doing this because like yeah let's just go for a swim and i do generally like this person or is the second he gets his camera guy it's like oh i got this fucking great like she said go for a swim we go for a swim and we completely make the movie like this right because that's why for me even when he in the press now talks like that's the reason they went this route because him and the director lance oppenheimer they both looked at it differently.
Like he felt she was a lot more truthful.
At times, at least that when Nathan say in the public and then Lance felt that she wasn't, he thought, Oh, well let's make the dog take that slant where you're kind of in the middle. I think that's what Amanda Seyfried is supposed to represent as the Lance, like the other directors kind of point of view. Um, but the thing is with the whole ending there and her being like, Oh, I can't, I won't say the whole speech, but the whole thing where it is like, uh, um, uh, saying like, Oh, why did you just implying that Nathan did like, like, like her or have feelings for her yet you could say that as like okay sure it's a real thing but you can also parlay that back to i think it's either i think it's the last season of nathan
for you where he has that girl and she just makes her say i love you a bunch of times this whole episode about nathan's being lonely and he just wants to fall in love so that's where it's like okay is this a real thing or is this again that just ties in the lore of the nathan fielder character if he's just super lonely looking for a connection and his connections with another person that's like a like a pathological liar, right?
And I mean, it's not like they've, more than probably any of his other shows, like the amount of footage, raw footage they have for this and boil it down to three hours is an impossible task. And so everything that's in there feels extremely purposeful. And in this documentary, he says, oh yeah, I just went through a breakup.
So like he's talking about that, which like, again, goes really deep.
Or the phone call in prison. He only has a finite of things he can say to her. And that's what he says.
Oh yeah, I'm okay.
And the other scenes too of like, When she's going away, when she's about to get in the SUV and head off to prison, and the stare they have, and they're really close. They're really close to each other. In any other movie, if this was a scripted thing, they would kiss right there. That's the vibe you get. But you think, oh, they're just going to go for a big friendly hug or whatever it is. And of course, none of that occurs.
And then the only time we see the hug in that sense is... when it is like the rehearsal thing and it's like a scripted thing. So we don't know how authentic that is to like what the actual hug was like when you visit her in prison.
Right.
And yeah, that, that angle of it is yeah. Extremely compelling. The fact that they seemingly became like pretty close friends, which makes sense. Like anybody, if you spend two months in a house with them, like you're going to naturally, obviously if you hate each other the whole time, it's going to be miserable. So you kind of become friends over time.
And even the whole thing too, of like, I assume most of it's all real and everything, but at the point where they go, okay, there's lots that happens with the twist in the middle, but they start to reveal when they took the meeting with Billy and he says, okay, we got to get a portion.
Of the funds.
At the end of the credits, they reveal that, okay, Billy eventually pulled down and didn't want the funds, but they could have looked at that and been like, well, okay, we're going to say, fuck you, these people, it's our movie now. So that whole thing with him and Amanda acting out the prison thing, that could all be fake.
I'm not going to say all of it because there'd probably be some slander and stuff like that, but there could be a version of that But that's where you could have the motivation of like, all right, these guys want to profit off it. We're going to spin a story that's maybe not so truthful and we can do whatever we want because there's.
No cameras there. Right. So it's, again, like kind of messing with reality.
I mean, that's definitely a thing, too. Like I saw some posts of people saying that there's. Records that Nathan actually visited her multiple times in prison. I messaged you.
About this last year when that came out. I was like, oh, that's his next thing. He's visiting her. I was like, you, I didn't know much about the Thernos thing or anything. I thought, okay, that's his next doc.
Yeah, but obviously in the documentary, they frame it in a much more cinematic way, but it was one fateful day. That is very much the thing that happened in Rehearsal Season 2 where people have like gone through like the flight records and learned that Nathan, like before he did the miracle of the hobby, he actually flew those planes quite a lot.
Uh, maybe not with, which makes sense.
Maybe not a plane full of people, but like, yeah, he obviously like he frames it as much more of a different thing in the show. And it's like, Again, that's played off as a super authentic thing in the show. But then when you get down to the reality of it, like there's actually, yeah, it kind of fudges the numbers a little bit. And again, that's why like, it's such a compelling thing where so much of this stuff is very inauthentic, but because he is playing a character who has the same name as himself, and it seems so close to who he actually is as a person, those lines become super close. And yeah, again, that's like so, so much what is going on with Holmes as a person where, So much of the documentary is focusing on
this one line from a New York Times article where she apparently said a line where she was playing a character. She's disputing it. Her and Billy are disputing it, but they don't have the evidence for it. The New York Times reporter who wrote the article... you know, wrote the article, but then like, it doesn't have any evidence of anyone saying it.
They won't provide the evidence.
Yeah.
So literally he said, she said.
And it's such a huge thing. And that's such a, Nathan makes such a big point of that. Like one word makes all the difference here. But again, that's so much of like Nathan as a person too, is like how much of him is this character? Cause he never like says that in interviews. Like, oh, I'm playing a character named Nathan. Like he never talks about that kind of stuff. Or at least I haven't seen, I've seen a lot of interviews with him and I've never seen him say anything like that. uh but yeah like that angle of it and the comparison between them is is really interesting obviously one has a much more sinister under underbelly to it but even when like nathan is like isn't it funny that i made a show about business
scams and now you're going to prison for a business scam which obviously to him is like a stupid joke but it's like the the similarities between don't even end there where it's it's so funny to like so much of this is nathan just trying to read this woman. Obviously that's like what the trailer shot, which is now me, and which is what we do all the time of like him, just looking at her, looking deep in her eyes and trying to understand if she's being authentic or not.
And if you go back to his last project rehearsal season two, there's a whole like episode. about him, like maybe discovering that he has autism and that he can't like read social cues on people's faces.
Right.
And so it's like, man, the whole premise of this is interesting that he is maybe someone who can maybe not read people, even though I think he's actually really good at reading people. And then you have someone who's like said to be a master manipulator. Like how does that dynamic play off each other when they spend like, I don't know, whatever it was a month, two months living in the same house, spending 24 hours together.
It's Because, yeah, that's the thing. And I think that's where he does it on purpose. But there's too many times in all these shows. But I think especially in this doc, as we talk about the close you see Nathan Fielder, you can see how sly he is. Because there's a moment where she says, and I can't remember the exact wording. And I can't remember what she says and exactly what Nathan says. But then Billy's like, oh, I know exactly what you're going for.
Or going through. And then Nathan looks and is like, no, you don't. He just clocks them.
Right away in a way where they said, oh, Nathan could have picked up on this cue and this cue and this cue. That's where it's like, seeing that episode. We don't know how much of that is like, staged and how much of that's true or like some people have just high functioning autism right so it doesn't even matter it's like you may have that but it doesn't actually affect you so there's times especially in this talk when he clocks things where I go like okay like that's where I always think like I tend to think like I tend to think even the it's the prestige thing right of the old guy with the bowl, like, Oh, how does he get the bowl? Like how, how does he get this bowl out? And he spends his whole
life pretending he's a cripple. So no one thinks he has his bowl in between his legs. And that's why to me, even Nathan, when he's in the interview being like, Oh yeah, we did this doc because like, I just felt like I could trust her and Lance couldn't, I don't even believe that. I don't even believe what Nathan's saying. Like, and that could be true, but it's like, I'm, I'm predisposed to think like he is doing the prestige thing where he's just, he's lit, which I respect.
And I love it. I love when those lines get blurred and, he's doing the, living the magician.
He's living the magic act and everything, right? And even the stuff with him and Amanda at the end, I feel like it's like, again, she's an actress. I don't feel it's a genuine conversation they're having, but the way they direct it and they shoot it, it feels like a genuine conversation that they're having at the end when she's like, oh, maybe you do have feelings for her, you have to do that and everything. And when that part happens, which I'd heard like a little bit, but that part, man, Seyfried was so fucking good. Whether it was the acting stuff or like the real stuff, she was just like, Man, that was incredible.
It was such a fun swerve.
You enjoy.
Talk to me more about how you perceived her in this, because it sounds like maybe I perceived her very differently than you did.
So I think that... So what do you mean? I think there's two sides of her. I think she's mostly acting the whole time. I think there's a few genuine moments when Nathan's showing her the dock, like her watching the dock. I think her on the couch....
Up until she says, oh, I've always wanted to play Elizabeth Holmes, like, post-trial. I think that's such genuine. The rest of the stuff, I think, is a performance. That's why I do think there's some people, Dylan, arguing for her to be nominated for Best Supporting Actress. And I kind of agree with that, because I think it is her, I'd say 95%, it's Amanda Seyfried playing Amanda Seyfried.
You know, it's not actually her.
But in the way they portray it, I think there's, or like the times at the farm, right, when like the the alpaca farts or something, and they kind of laugh. Like, I think there's genuine moments of her in there, but I think.
It is, like, a predisposed... Okay, you.
Can play Amanda Seyfried like this, especially that ending scene where she's, like, getting through to Nathan. It's like, I don't know if I believe Amanda Seyfried is, like, breaking down Nathan Fielder right in front of him, and he has no idea what's going on. I feel like it's him pouring his thoughts through Amanda, you know?
That's a really... interesting read on it because and maybe maybe that just like she pissed me off so much in this in like a good way in like a good way that like media is making me you know art is making me feel things kind of way but i just found myself so ticked off by her but like i did not really think about the fact that like maybe she is extremely inauthentic inauthentic in this too and she is playing a character or maybe was like given a script or something like that because to me it really does seem like he's like they're just talking about this stuff openly and And she was not like given any directive. And I don't know, there, there's so much in here that really like when she is like,
gets like kind of surprised, jump scared with like the phone call with her from prison. And she says a couple of things. And then she like awkwardly says like, Oh, you're amazing. And like, like trickles away on the phone. I was like, Whoa, what a weird, what a weird fucking thing to say to this person.
She was going undercover.
So she's trying to like, Cause I feel like at that point they want her to be undercover when she's going there. And cause she's like, Oh, maybe not even like break them up, but make them say something yet. Since I felt like it was that whole thing of, you're amazing. And she's hanging with the kids. She's trying to gain his trust. So then later on when they have that argument and they're talking about all these political things and everything. And Billy says some kind of outrageous shit.
He is nuts. And I feel like that's what it was. She was just trying to coax them in to be trustable.
So he could say things like that, like make a threat because, If you're not friendly with this lady, even for a little bit, you're not going to say that. Because Billy, I don't think any of this stuff he's saying is a put-upon. So I feel like Amanda Seyfried in that thing is a trap. And I feel like it's Nathan being like, hey, you do this, this, and this.
And Amanda Seyfried as the actress is taking it as a Broadway thing. Like, oh, I'm going to live this role. I'm going to almost do the Nathan Fielder thing. So I don't think much of Amanda Seyfried in this movie is Amanda Seyfried.
Now I'm really excited to re-watch this from that lens of just not believing that she's being authentic at all. Maybe she's just such a good actress that I genuinely felt like she was being so real in all these scenes. But yeah, it seemed to me like any time Nathan brought up anything, she just seemed to take the stance of believing that Elizabeth Holmes was being authentic. And then it was only... like once Elizabeth Holmes had like apparently the kind of shit on her at the end when she kind of turned and was like maybe more cynical is not the right word, but like doubting her a bit more. And like, like, and then she pushes back on Nathan when he's like, Oh, maybe we should change this line because it felt like, it felt more nice
when she said it like that. And then, and then she kind of like, you know, pounces on him a little bit for that because like, okay, well how are you doing this? Because you want it to feel this way or because like, that's genuinely like what actually happened in that moment, which I think for anyone to recall, Oh, here's exactly how this conversation went down to like the tone of every single word. Like that's impossible when it's a long sequence.
And that's where the character of Nathan shady for changing it.
Right.
Cause he almost defends her because he, I can't remember the word, but then Seifert's like, oh, well, that implies she knew. And he's like, oh, well, maybe it was actually more like this. She said it like this.
Yeah.
It felt like the Nathan Fielder character protecting Elizabeth Holmes. So again, I still also think that Amanda Seifert's kind of a proxy for the other director as well. Because I don't think the other director's maybe as good of an actor. So I feel like if that's true, where like.
But you're saying the other director doesn't believe in Holmes.
That's what Nathan said.
So he said in an interview I watched today where the reason they took the slant with the doc is because they would sit back and watch some of this footage and they kept disagreeing on what they were seeing. Or Nathan would be like, I see it like– also what Nathan said.
This could just be a gimmick, right? But he said, hey– Nathan sees it like door A, and Lance sees it like door B, and that's where they.
Have to give it. Whereas Lance, sorry, is the one who's more skeptical.
Yeah, more like, eh, she's pulling the wool.
Yeah, but I feel like isn't Seyfried, like, just totally lopping up every single thing Holmes says until pretty much the very end when she starts, like, shitting on her, and then she takes that turn. But even that's, like, only, like, a scene or two. It is. But for the most part, she just kind of takes everything she says at face value, and I think so much of that for her is, like, oh, well, Billy...
And I don't think there's any take where someone watches this and is like, oh yeah, Billy, he's misunderstood. Like that guy is just a terrible human being. And that like makes everything else by comparison different too, right? Where Holmes, anyone watching this by comparison would be like, oh, Holmes is like way better of a person than Billy at least.
And then, you know, that makes you feel one way or, but yeah, I feel like Cypher just kind of took everything she said at face value in a way that I found really surprising. But again, it could all be a character thing too.
Yeah.
And I feel like she just also did that to be, I feel like, too, because even though Holmes is the main protagonist for a bit, I feel like Austin Nathan becomes that, and I think it's to support our character, because I think they want you to go on the journey of, oh, we're believing that Holmes is innocent, that she said this description of a machine, but she meant it wrong, and Billy's the really bad guy, but at the end, it shows that, well, maybe she's just kind of fibbing what she really knows and whatnot, and she also might know exactly what Billy's up to, and it either puts him up to it, or it's just completely fine fit, and just rolls with the punches, right? So that's where I think that amanda in my point of
view was instructed to be like that where oh she has been sick because the doc was telling us and nathan was telling us that where if you have her at the end kind of pushing back it leaves you in an unst like kind of well situation unsturdy because nathan is unsure and she's yeah she's not 100 but she's more sure and she's now saying our protagonist is maybe unreliable by saying like, Hey, this guy, this guy who's made this doc for three hours, maybe is an unreliable narrator because he has feelings for it. And then you're like, Oh, like, is there worse stuff.
We haven't seen? So, uh, yeah, it's super interesting. I love her being in this. This is a fun dynamic.
Yeah.
I didn't, it's funny. All the hours and hours and hours I've thought about this thing. Now I did not like consider that angle, uh, from her. So that totally adds a whole nother wrinkle to this as well.
Yeah.
It could just be her and it could just be someone that's an actress and does not do investigative journalism, right?
Yeah, it could be. And the other thing that I was really side-eyeing when she was saying, when she was talking about how, oh, the show we made, I wasn't playing you. I was playing a character who was inspired by you. And she was trying to offload a lot of responsibility of, oh, when you make a show like this, it can impact the people's views on a certain subject in a really strong way and i feel like she was really trying to deflect the fact that that's like what they were doing and when when when nathan was like quizzing her on like oh but like the machine didn't blow up and like blood was everywhere she's like oh no we kind of added that but it's like oh it's not a big deal and and you know
it's it's like i i'm almost like in nathan's view it to some extent where i'm like saying these things almost like in defense of homes even though i am not taking his stance on either side But again.
It's him defending her, right? It's him trying to believe the Holmes character is not a bad person, right? Yeah.
But my point with that is that the stuff Seyfried was saying there kind of really pissed me off. I feel like the way she was trying to offload any responsibility of when you make art like this and what it can do to people's lives. Now, again, assuming Holmes is like a master manipulator and is a terrible person and you know i don't really care so much if she's like feels bad about this depiction of her or anything like that uh but yeah it it it did strike me as a bit odd that she uh almost was she was almost like downplaying like what their project was in a don't worry about it. It was just a little thing. We weren't actually trying to be authentic with the story we were telling there, which doesn't really
seem the case. I've not seen that show, so I don't know. All I've seen from that show is the elements that are shown in.
Me either.
You can see everything, so... It's made me want.
To watch the show now, even though I know it's probably a complete fictional version.
It looks so cheesy. I don't know if I... It makes me want to watch it less, but again, I probably should. I should probably watch that and then watch You Can Say Everything again. The only reason.
I want to watch it is the beginning when I was saying the NFCU, now the Nathan Fielder Cinematic Universe has brought in the dropout.
That's technically part of the Nathan... For that context, so.
I only want to watch it for, like, homework purposes and just almost see, like, okay, what did she watch? And even the moment when Amanda's like, oh, man, I couldn't even imagine what she was thinking while watching this because there's some really, like, cheesy or just, like, potentially bad stuff in there, right?
Abbott as the fucking rehearsal guy for Billy is hilarious.
It was like, because I had heard whispers that, I didn't know it was this size role, but I just saw that Amanda Seyfried, like, completely dodged the question of like, Oh, you interview anything?
And I think she was just like, Oh yeah, I have nothing to do with that.
As it was, it was a weird actor answer way where it's like, okay, you could just be like, no, I'm super excited. It's like, okay, she don't want to say anything. So I had an idea that she was a part of this somehow, but when I popped up, I had no idea.
And fuck, he was, he was really good. And I bet that happened because just last year they had like a, an Oscar movie. It didn't get a bunch of nominees, don't nominations, but, it came out.
So I guarantee you, he approached her around the time she was making that movie. And she probably was like, Oh, I'm working with this guy, Christopher Abbott. He'd be great for X, Y, and Z. And plus he already worked with Emma Stone on the curse.
Right.
And he was in poor thing. So like there's multiple Abbott connections to that. So I thought he was, uh, he was fantastic. And he's a guy that like, again, I still don't.
Picture him as Xavier.
I still am going to need a big stretch there, but he's a guy these last few years I've been like, okay, I I'm, I'm on the Abbott train at first. First I saw him like, I don't know, but I'm, I'm getting it now.
But again, I like him playing weird roles. So again, with Xavier, I'm like, that's, that's a different, that's not really the box I want him in. I want him in stuff like this where he's just like an asshole and it's just, he's an oddball. But yeah, it was, um, no notes on the, on the Abbott, uh, casting there.
