Hey, Fanaritos.

Welcome back to How Rude Tanaritos. Today's episode deals with the loss of our beloved Papuli. So we're going to skip our usual pre-show poppycock and go straight into the recap. Today, we are discussing Season 7, Episode 17, The Last Dance. It originally aired February 8th, 1994, and it goes a little something like this. During his visit to San Francisco...

Jesse's beloved grandfather, Papouli, dies in his sleep. Jesse and Michelle are both devastated as they try to come to terms with his death. It was directed by John Tracy. It was written by Tom Amundsen. And we have three guest stars this week. We have Jack Krushen as Iorgos Papouli Katsopoulos. That's a mouthful. He was a Canadian-born character actor with more than 200 film and television credits. Yeah, he'd worked on a ton of stuff. A ton of stuff.

We don't have time to go through all of them today. But he earned an Oscar nomination for The Apartment, starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine. And he played another memorable grandfather, Papa Papadopoulos, on Webster before appearing on Full House. Yeah, I was like, I remember Papa Papadopoulos.

Papadopoulos Katsopoulos. Yeah, right.

That's a mouthful for sure. And we last saw him in season four's Greek Week when the Greek family arrives and forces non-consensual marriages on the Tanner family.

Right.

So I was happy.

I was happy for as devastated as the Tanner family was. I was like, oh, yeah, they have met him before.

Yes. We have met. Yeah, they've met him before.

Next, we have Catherine Rossiter as Miss Barnes. She's an actress, an acting teacher known for Death of a Salesman on Broadway and its television adaption. Her screen credits include Fearless, Speed 2, and Law & Order SVU. And last but certainly not least, we have Journey Smollett returning as Denise.

She's such a small part in this episode. It's just a little blip and that's it.

So that's it.

We go into the show. There's no teaser. There's no teaser. There's no pre-show poppycock. We are all business today. We begin in the kitchen. Steph, Michelle, Danny and Joey are stuffing grape leaves at the kitchen table.

That was I immediately knew what episode it was. Oh, really?

Like I didn't I forgot that it was titled The Last Dance, but we were stuffing grape.

Leaves and I was like, oh, this is the one. Yeah. Yeah.

They are preparing for Grandpa Katsopoulos' visit. Danny says they need to stuff faster. So Joey starts stuffing them in his mouth. Michelle wonders if Grandpa has a job back in Greece, and Danny reminds her that Grandpa was a fisherman. Joey reminisces how Danny's dad used to take Danny and Joey fishing, and Danny remembers how they made a promise to each other to save up their money and buy a boat to sail around the world. Whatever happened to that dream, Danny wonders. DJ and Steve come down the stairs and announce they're going to the mall to buy some sunglasses that DJ has been thinking about ever since she saw them.

On cue.

Kimmy walks in wearing those exact sunglasses. DJ's upset.

DJ's upset. DJ's upset.

Every time she sees something she wants, Kimmy just has to have it herself. Kimmy reminds her, hey, I left Steve alone. And Steve reacts, don't think I'm not grateful. DJ doesn't want to be seen together wearing the exact same glasses. So Kimmy then offers that maybe they shouldn't be seen together at all. Everyone is fine with that, including Stephanie. Especially Stephanie.

Yeah, yeah.

And then Kimmy leaves. I'm with my, I have, this.

Is my straight hair era. Great. Your hair. I was like, she's got layers. She's got.

I remember this hair because I got a straight perm. This is before like keratin treatments and all like, this was the straight perm where they use those straightening boards.

Right.

And then you put the perm.

Yeah.

It was like a, it was like a plastic perm. curved but straight board and then they would put the they would straighten out your hair and then rub the perm material or the someone with.

The straightest hair known ever uh straightening boards were never in my realm of things i needed.

Yeah no this was i my hair is naturally curly like not curly but like naturally wavy it's not curly and it's not straight it's just naturally messy So I got permission from my mom and dad to get a straight perm. And so it took like four hours to straighten it, straighten it, let the solution set, and then wash it out. And then you kind of had to do it again. So I was very proud of this straight walk hair.

Well, it looked gorgeous.

Thank you very much. But yeah, Kimmy leaves, DJ's upset, and this was the most manufactured fight.

Like this.

Like, I get why the girls had to fight to set up the resolution later on. But like, I'm like, this is stupid. Guys, really? This is what we're fighting about? Sunglasses?

Episode 17.

And the glasses, I didn't even think were that cool. They were like.

Well, I just.

That was a style.

Kimmy and DJ have never had a similar style.

Never.

No.

Like, I feel like anything that Kimmy likes, DJ would be like, that's cute on you. Right.

And vice versa. You know what I mean? But those those round.

John Lennon glasses on Lennon glasses in in the early in the mid 90s.

Yeah, that was popular back then.

So Jesse calls from the living room that their home and the whole family heads into the living room. Grandpa enters with a booming hello, everyone. The family is so happy and Michelle runs up to him for a giant hug. Michelle tells Grandpa that they missed him, and he reminds her that he'd like to be called Papouli because Grandpa is someone who is old and gray. She asks, what does Papouli mean? He says, it means someone who is old and gray, but it sounds much better. Hugs are all around, but Papouli calls everyone by the wrong names.

He has no idea who any of them are. He calls Stephanie Little Michelle, and when she corrects him by saying, I'm Stephanie, he responds, of course you are.

It was very, uh, bulky.

Oh yeah. It was very bad. It did have that similar.

It gave bulky vibes. Yeah. Yeah. It was giving bulky vibes. Of course you are.

Yeah. Yeah. I know.

And I'm just thinking. Of course not. Yeah.

Me in my dark mind. I'm like, this is, this is an early sign of Alzheimer's when they like, this is what they do. They're like, oh yeah, I meant that. That's what I meant to say that. Of course you are.

Well, I mean, technically this is probably only the second time he's met them.

Yeah, I know. Well, according to the full house universe.

Yeah.

It was season four in the now season seven.

And that's kind of it. Okay.

So Jesse introduces his papul to Steve, DJ's boyfriend, who he'll be seeing around a lot, probably in the kitchen. Steve gives DJ a goodbye kiss and leaves. Becky comes down the stairs with the twins and Jesse says, you remember Rebecca? And papuli says, who could forget Rebecca? And Michelle smiles. I bet you could. The zingers, like the zingers that Michelle is.

Hold on. He's just an older man. Just call him.

No. Nikki and Alex sweetly greet him with, hi, Papoody.

Very cute.

Next, we're in the kitchen. Papoody is in the kitchen serving up moussaka.

Oh, that sounds so good. Oh, it sounds so good. Delicious.

Michelle and Stephanie are working in dough. And Jesse wants the recipe before he leaves. No problem. This one came off a box of moussaka helper.

A joke.

DJ comes in the back door proclaiming that Kimmy is the most irritating person in the entire world. Welcome to our side, Steph responds. DJ complains that Kimmy wore the sunglasses DJ loves all day, even in gym class, while swimming. DJ doesn't understand why Kimmy bought them even though she knew DJ loved them. Papouli jumps in with a parable from his Greek village. Nikos bought his wife beautiful pink ox hair slippers. And when Andreas found out, he bought the same slippers. DJ suggests that maybe both wives had cold feet. Jesse reminds her to listen for the lesson because all of Papouli's stories have lessons. He's passing down lessons from his Greek ancestors. He begins to go on and on and Papuli says, it's about time you shut

up and let me finish the story.

Let's keep it. Thank you, Papuli. Thank you.

We've been waiting for this. The point is that Andreas wasn't even married.

Are we sure?

Did he walk around a table with anybody?

That's what was missing. There was no table to walk around. So he was a single guy. He bought them because Nikos had them. He walked all around town in those slippers and Nikos was so mad. He never spoke to him again. See, DJ, Jesse says, words to live by. Now do you understand? Yeah, Andreas was a jerk, just like Kimmy, DJ retorts as she walks away. That wasn't the point. Papouli was trying to get across, but DJ has already left the room. Michelle is concerned that they've gotten flour everywhere, but Papouli isn't worried. Then the Greek soundtrack starts to play. It's like, oh, here we go.

Something coming.

Right.

When they get flour on their hands, they can just wipe it off on their noses. And he wipes a little flour on her nose. Michelle understands the game and rubs some flour on his cheeks. The two of them throw flour on Stephanie with a loud oppa. and then Stephanie gets in on the fun, too. They begin a flour-throwing extravaganza.

Was this fun? Who doesn't love that in their kitchen?

I'm sure props and set deck loved it. Like they were like, Oh my God. Was it fun?

Was it, I was trying to figure out like, did you have a good time? Whenever you get to do something like that, you're like, just be ridiculous. Something you never get to do is throw a handful of flour in the air at somebody. Yeah.

It was fun. I love doing that stuff. I mean, it was probably not fun to like shake it all out of my hair, but.

I'm sure costumes and hair and makeup did not like it.

Right.

Get you guys all cleaned up.

I'm sure it was.

It was a cute little scene though. No, it was.

The reason I liked it, it was ridiculous, whatever, but I liked it. Just because it sort of tied, you know, it gave some connection and story to the relationship, you know, amongst the girls.

Yeah, it was a very sweet scene. And reminded us all, they are in fact Greek. They are in fact Greek. Very true.

Next in the living room, Papouli is teaching Michelle to do a Greek dance. Jesse is happy to see it, but he doesn't want to join in. He really doesn't dance. Papouli responds that if you are Greek, you dance. Michelle wonders if she is Greek. She doesn't feel Greek. Papouli says that to feel Greek, you must be proud of your ancestors and enjoy life a little bit too. That's why we dance. Jesse agrees that his heart is Greek, but his feet don't know it. He leaves to clean up the celebration in the kitchen. Michelle asks if Papouli will come teach her class a Greek dance next Monday for share day. Papouli agrees and gives her a big kiss.

I love you, Papouli, Michelle says with a hug, and he hugs her back with an I love you too.

Nothing good ever happens after that.

Next, the mood quickly changes. We're in the kitchen. The mood has shifted, the music has changed, and we see the family, except for Michelle and the twins, in the kitchen, clearly shaken. It's like a bad dream or something, Jesse says, as Rebecca consoles him with a hug. And she reveals, at least Papuli died peacefully in his sleep. Now, this transition was abrupt. Like, I did not anticipate that. I mean, I knew he died in this episode, but I was just like, whoa, whiplash. Suddenly it's just like, we go from happy to he's gone, and then I'm left with.

All these inappropriate questions. Anytime there's a sweet moment and you cut away from it.

You're like, this can't be good. Nothing's gonna happen.

Right.

If it's an older person or a dog, you're like, something bad's going to happen.

Something bad is going to happen. And I just couldn't stop thinking, like, whose bedroom was he sleeping in? That's a good point.

Where was he staying?

I'm guessing Joey's room. And Joey was somewhere. Joey's always the one that gets kicked out. They sleep in the alcove or whatever.

Yeah, man, where's Joey? We never address that.

No, we never do address that.

Yeah, I know. Now somebody has that in the room. We've never addressed that.

Um, my great grandfather died when I was in kindergarten. My great grandfather was living with us and he died in our house. And it was me and my mom. My brothers had already gone to school. My mom went to check on him to wake him up and he was no longer alive. And so she was very good about like, she kept him home from school, but she was just like, you just stay here and play with your toys. And then she called the emergency responders and they came to retrieve the body. And so, um, yeah, so this kind of hit home.

So it has.

Okay.

Interesting.

It has happened.

Um, And then there was, yeah, then, then there's the bed. It's like, okay, well, there's a bed where he died and it's just, it's, it's, it's a, it's a disconcerting feeling.

I'll just say. Yes, it is. But no, I do agree.

Part of life.

There's a pretty abrupt change, but.

Again, we've got, we got 22 minutes to get through all seven stages of grief. Right.

We only have 22 minutes.

We got to get.

22 minutes.

Yeah. And sometimes death is like that.

Like three minutes per stage.

It's, it's unexpected and it's messy.

Yeah, that's true. It is. That's how it happens. It's kind of true to life too. Everything's great. And then you're like, what?

Danny says he knows how much Papuli meant to Jesse and to everyone in the family. Rebecca assures Jesse that there was nothing anyone could have done. Jesse is so sad. He was a beautiful man full of life and love. And Steph checks on Jesse. And your braids are very prominent and for your ears. Jesse announces that he doesn't have time for crying. So many arrangements to make. The family says they'll help. But Jesse storms off saying he'll do it all. DJ wonders why Jesse won't let them help him. But Rebecca reminds her that this is his way of dealing with pain by keeping busy. Yeah, that's fair.

A lot of people.

Totally. You know, I get that. Yeah, very, very fair.

Then Michelle walks in the back door from her honeybees meeting with a popsicle craft as a gift for Papuli. She asks where he is and the family cries quietly. Danny breaks the news. Papuli's not here. Michelle looks around and sees everyone crying. Something's wrong, she says. Danny continues. This morning, after you went to school, we went to wake up Papuli, but he died in his sleep last night.

His heart gave out.

No, he's not dead, Michelle cries. She throws her popsicle craft on the floor and runs up the stairs with Danny following. That's this is heavy this is just you know it's um it's heavy it's not the normal flavor of foot like.

We know but it was i mean you know kids it is such a hard thing to process i'm for anyone at any age and i you know i am glad that full house touched on it just because i'm sure it's something that a lot of kids who watch the show had to go through grief of some sort and uh yeah yeah Yeah, the first time you experience the death of somebody close to you, it impacts you greatly and you never forget it.

It's very true.

So Danny chases Michelle into her room. Why did Papouli have to die, she asks.

It's not fair.

It's a part of life, Danny explains. He lived a very full life. It makes me so mad, Michelle goes on. And Danny consoles her. It's okay to feel mad. You lost somebody that you love. But we're a family, right? and we'll help one another get through this. Danny lets Michelle know that he's there if she has any other questions.

Danny leaves, and Michelle hugs her stuffed rabbit. Stephanie enters the room. She checks on Michelle and asks how she's doing. Michelle says she feels like crying. Steph says she does as well, but then she tells Michelle that they should not cry in front of Uncle Jesse, because if they do, he might cry again too. Michelle can't believe Uncle Jesse was crying. Steph suggests that they be brave for Uncle Jesse, but Michelle is not sure she can do that. The girls consider how they can keep themselves from crying, maybe by thinking of something funny, like when Joey sticks a whole donut in his mouth. Then Uncle Jesse walks in the room on the phone with Aunt Elaine. When he hangs up, he asks the girls if they're okay. Stephanie

says yes, but Michelle just stares forward awkwardly with a forced smile on her face. Are you all right, Michelle? Jesse says as he wonders aloud what she's doing. She replies, I'm thinking about Joey stuffing a whole donut in his mouth. This leaves Jesse confused, but he hopes they hang in there. He'll be going back to Greece in a few days.

When Jesse leaves, Steph hugs Michelle with a good job kid. And this broke my heart because I feel like this is how Steph has been trained to like kind of stuff like it's like no Steph don't be disappointed we didn't go to Disneyland no Steph you can't have you know right this is kind of like how she's been trained just to not just be happy you have to just be happy anyways it's full house so you have to just make the joke and move on and so now she's instructing her little sister to say don't be sad in front of Uncle Jesse you know we have to be happy so I.

Kind of broke my heart a little bit are you saying that that's not a healthy coping mechanism well well it depends no but I know I agree it was it was a heartbreaking scene because it was Steph trying to like help everybody you know what I mean like put on a brave face right yeah so um yeah it was just really interesting between um between the girls it was yeah yeah I forgot about that scene it was a it was a nice moment.

You were consoling your little sister that was very very sweet.

Next, we're in the backyard. And Danny is standing there with a large boat and a captain's hat.

Because why not?

The backyard's big enough.

Let's throw a boat in it.

The backyard will change to the Tanner's needs as we've established. So it shapeshifts into large enough for a marina. Becky can't believe he went out and bought a boat on a whim. It took him six months to decide between liquid or powder bleach. This is different for Danny. This is what he and the guys have dreamed of forever.

And he offers Joey a bucket hat. Joey Nello.

Like gillian i didn't they learn their lesson though on the sea cruise episode right i know for them they're.

Still chasing the boats like the boats no nothing good comes from boats.

This whole house is a nautical theme show.

Joey understands After everything that has happened, it's a reminder that life is short and you should go for your dreams.

Good point.

Good lesson. Danny reveals the life ring preserver with the name of the boat, Papooli. And this was a light bulb moment for me. I was like, oh, this is why we did this in the 70s cruise episode of Fuller House. We had the life.

Preserver that said Pahuli.

Yes.

Yeah, it was the SS Pahuli was the name of the ship.

Yeah, I thought they just named the ship that. I didn't know that Danny had a boat in this episode and named the boat like I didn't. I wasn't in this scene, so I didn't watch it.

I didn't really think about that either. Yeah. I was like, oh, that's pretty cool. That's great. Continuity.

You know, every once in a while we get continuity right. And this was a slam dunk.

Although I don't know that the boat that we were on for the 70s cruise had anything to do with Danny Tanner's boat.

No, but it had the life preserver that had S.S. Papouli on it. So there was a tie in. But I don't know if the boat was named that. But yeah, it had nothing to do with Papouli or this episode. But no, it was a little Easter.

Egg of it.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And we signed this. Did we not? At the last con we went to, didn't somebody have.

The life ring?

Oh, yes.

I think you're right. We did. But you know what?

It wasn't probably the original Full House one. It was the one from the 70s cruise.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I think it was the more recent one. Yeah. But. Same thing. That's cool.

That's right. I forgot that we signed that. That's a great, it's a great relic. So Jesse likes this and so would Papuli. He gives Danny a big hug before leaving to make some more phone calls. Becky reminds him to slow down and take some time for himself, but he promises he's fine and he needs to make more arrangements.

I don't want to end up in Athens, Georgia.

We've all seen Auckland.

We've learned from Auckland. Then Kimmy strolls into the yard with her new sunglasses, declaring, hey, Beavis and Boathead. Danny looks at Kimmy and then Joey. Oh, look, Joey, we caught our first fish, a big mouthed gibbler. Steph replies, too bad we can't throw it back. Ouch, Kimmy's catching straight.

And they were mad about Roxy? I know, right?

Right?

DJ asks if she can have a minute with Kimmy alone and the rest of the family leaves. Kimmy says Steve told her about her great-grandpa, and she is really sorry. Kimmy starts to apologize for the sunglasses, but DJ stops her and begins telling her about Papuli's story and how Andreas was wrong, but Nikos was also wrong, too. Kimmy's confused.

Andreas and Nikos? Have you been hanging out with those Irish exchange students? DJ replies, no, Kimmy. we shouldn't break up a lifetime friendship over something as stupid as a pair of sunglasses. Kimmy agrees. DJ cuts in, well, a sweater maybe, but, and then they both laugh and they hug it out.

Well, like an unnecessary storyline.

It is. It sounds like there could have been a better way. Like Kimmy could have just been supportive.

Of her friend.

Yeah, but everyone has a lesson that they learn. For Joey and Danny, it's live life to your fullest now before you die. And for DJ, it's like, don't sweat.

The small stuff with your friend.

Okay, I get it. They needed something bigger stakes than sunglasses. Right. But everybody gets something result.

Except for Stephanie. Okay, got it. Yeah, except for Stephanie.

Stephanie's the only one.

That doesn't get it. Stephanie's just left being emotionally crippled.

Right, exactly.

Exactly. This is so true.

So next, we're in the kitchen. Jesse is on the phone again and the caller is asking about Michelle and he says she's fine, but he's surprised to hear that she's not in school. He saw her leave this morning. Just then he looks out the kitchen window to see her little hand from the boat. He goes outside and announces that he's had a big lunch and only has one pudding cup left. He leaves the cup and pretends to walk away. When Michelle reaches for the pudding, he takes her hand.

Gotcha.

That was cold, she said. Jesse wants to know what Michelle is doing home from school. She reels off an excuse. Couldn't find my backpack. But Jesse points out that the backpack is actually in the boat. Michelle replies, oh, the one place I didn't look. Jesse joins her on the boat and asks her to level with him. She can't tell him. He's confused. You can't tell me. We tell each other everything.

Everything? You've been my therapist for years. Right.

Like, why is this?

This is not news.

Everything, Michelle wonders. And Jesse embarrass, embarrassingly reveals that he never told her he once bought a Kathy Lee Gifford CD.

That joke aged well.

Which was, that was not funny. I don't think it was even funny back in 1994. Definitely not great. Not funny now. Once he gets the secret off his chest, he encourages Michelle to tell him what's up. She tells him that Papuli was supposed to be at school with her today. to teach her class a Greek dance. She was afraid that if she went to school without him, she would feel sad. Jesse assures her that it's okay to feel sad. But if she felt sad, Michelle was worried that she would cry and wouldn't be brave for Uncle Jesse. Michelle reveals that Stephanie told her she needed to be brave for him so he didn't get more sad.

Jesse knows that Steph thought she was telling her the right thing, but she was wrong, and he'll talk to her about that later.

And we'll get to her later.

And then they never do. I wanted to see that conversation and we never saw that conversation. He says, Michelle, we should always share our feelings together. That's what makes us a family. I really loved Papouli. I was his little Michelle, she says. Jesse responds, I was his little Jesse. He used to always take care of me. And when he comes to visit, I can't even take care of him.

Michelle helps Jesse. It's not your fault. His heart was old. It's okay to be sad. She's repeating what she has just heard from Jesse. Michelle then asks Uncle Jesse, is it okay to cry? Jesse also tears up and says, you bet. They hug each other and they have a good cry. And this was such good acting. Yeah, it was a.

Very sweet moment at the end.

I think it was Ashley and John. Like, this was such a good scene. Like, really, really knocked it out of the park.

Yeah, and it, you know, it did really, I think, as kids, I know I've been in that position where, you know, something happens to a grandparent and you see your parent upset and so you're afraid. Oh, wow. to put your own emotions in it because you're trying to help them, you know?

Right. You kind of feel responsible for their emotions. And so you're like, I can't be sad. I can't be sad. And then it's, it was nice that Jesse gave her permission to be sad. And I wish, I wish we had seen a scene of him giving Stephanie permission to be sad as well.

Steph will stuff it down, leave for Europe and come back later.

Next we're at Michelle's school. Jesse takes Michelle into her classroom just as Denise is finishing her share. He asks her if she's going to be okay, and he leaves with a kiss on her forehead. Michelle's teacher, Mrs. Barnes, leads her to the front, asking if she has something for share time today. And Michelle replies, my great-grandpa, Papouli, was supposed to come to school today to teach us a Greek dance, but he died. Her teacher expresses sympathy for her loss. And encourages her to try and teach the dance to the class anyway. Did the teacher not get the memo that there was a loss, a death in the family?

Usually teachers know that kind of stuff. Usually they'll tell them. Usually.

Yeah.

Like, let's not make the child perform. Like, can we give her a minute in the back of the room? Or like, can she just watch for a while?

This is the same day?

I think, no, this is Monday.

Yeah, but she was supposed to go to school the day she hit out on the boat.

Are they in the same boat?

Yeah, this is the same day as the boat scene, yes.

So he only died yesterday.

Yeah, he only died, well, yesterday or very suddenly.

Yeah, it had to have been yesterday because we were all this morning in the same outfits crying and saying, don't cry about it.

Was that it? I don't remember. I don't remember.

I don't know the timeline, but yeah, I feel like you, yeah, I just feel like it all happened very fast. And that being said, that being said, the teacher did, although this was a misstep, she handled this nicely by saying, we'll just teach it to us anyways. And yeah, well, let's just, we don't, you don't need to teach us the dance.

Yeah.

And the class very kindly encourages Michelle as well. Miss Barnes puts the tape in the player hooked on bazooki. And Michelle begins dancing for the class, but she sadly tells her classmates that she can't remember the rest. We hear a voice say, I can. And the camera reveals that Jesse has re-entered the room. He helps her lead the Greek dance for the class, finishing with a big kick and an oppa. The class claps along and that is our show. Yay.

We finally reached the Papooli episode.

The Papooli episode was so heartbreaking. It was. I mean, this episode really sticks out for a lot of fans as being shocking. Watching it as a kid, I think it was very shocking to have a TV show tackle death in such a non-sanitized way.

It was definitely one of those very special episode moments.

Definitely a very special episode. And it wasn't filled with the normal full house. jokes and and bits and chatter like.

It was you know when there's no teaser there's yeah there's no like the charles episode no teaser.

Yeah yeah they it's just.

It's all volunteer episode i don't think either.

Yeah you want to you want to get the right tone yeah.

No, I thought it was, I thought it was a lovely, a lovely episode. Yeah, it was nice.

It was, I guess I wasn't prepared for, I'd never seen the entire episode. I only saw the scenes I was in. So, yeah, I just wasn't prepared for just how heavy, how heavy. I'm used to like a B storyline and some jokes to kind of balance out the heavy. And that without, without that, I was just like, damn, I'm depressed.

Like, yeah, I didn't remember that, but I didn't remember it. Like kind of, I remembered kind of the vague thing, but like, I didn't know that it would like the whole episode was like one day, you know what I mean? That it, I thought we kind of were with the family for a little bit.

Right.

More time had passed, but no, this all happens extremely fast.

Yeah. I mean, Danny got a boat in like four hours.

He doesn't waste any time. you know, the boats are us pretty quickly.

Yeah.

Bring it on up into the backyard.

See the boat again. I guess we'll find out next week. I don't know if we see the boat again. Probably not. Probably not.

It goes out onto the lake in the, in the Tanner's backyard.

It's a one-off. It's out there. Well, yeah, they just leave it floating on the dock, you know, in the backyard.

So my notes for this episode are one, like I wish they had talked about Pam a little bit because This is Pam's grandfather as well.

Right.

And she's not mentioned at all. She's also not here. Like, yeah, she's also not. So the girls have had to make these two huge in their lives. Right. And it's all about Jesse and his grief, which I understand. But he doesn't mention anything about his sister having died. You know, there's no men. He never mentions her. Like, I just thought there'd be some sort of.

Yeah.

Mention of her. But no, there was there was nothing. And then about Stephanie. stephanie gets no resolution to her grief everybody else gets a little jesse and michelle get their resolution and dj gets her resolution and danny she's she's uh moving into.

The bathroom and get it you know i'm just gonna resolve it on her own in there yeah.

She's gonna sleep in the bathtub sleep in the animals.

We wonder why steph hadn't come home for a while you know she's been.

Disappeared yeah Yeah, Stephanie, the lost years.

That's a spinoff on itself. Like, where did Stephanie go?

Can we imagine what happened in between?

All the therapy sessions.

Oh, yeah.

How Steph dealt with, she wouldn't believe my family. The picture can't be that bad. No, you have no idea.

Yeah. But I enjoyed the overall lesson that being brave does not mean hiding your grief. You know, being brave means expressing your grief and letting others know. share in it and help each other through it. I think that's a great message.

It's okay to feel your feelings, you know, for Jesse, for Michelle, for.

That's big of Jesse.

Yeah.

That's big of Jesse to it, to, to feel his feelings and express them and show them.

Sure.

That's a big, that's a big hurdle for him. So I'm proud of him for that.

Yeah. This was, this was of course, this was a milestone episode in the show. Yeah. So yeah.

Big milestone.

Yeah.

Yeah. It was heartbreaking.

It was a sad one. I'm going to peacefully try and guide us out.

I know. How do you transition to an outro?

I don't know.

I know how I could transition, but I don't think anyone would be able to.

Yeah, I'm not going to keep my humor inside. Okay.

We can't even be ourselves.

We can't even be our normal, inappropriate selves.

Bob's like, do it, do it, make the joke, do it, make the joke. I hear it. Bob wants you to say it anyways.

Yeah, but I'm not going to. I did at his funeral, but I won't say it here.
