Hello gorgeous, it's Lala Kent. Welcome to Untraditionally Lala. Hello gorgeous, welcome to the bonus episode of Untraditionally Lala. Hello mother.

Hello darling.

Hello TT, hello puppet.

Hello, hello puppet.

So because I was in straight struggle zone and have been for like the longest, I'm just waiting for me to feel like I don't need to be in hibernation. Which I feel like happens as you're approaching the end of the year, right?

Yes. Like— Holidays are approaching.

Yes. Like, we come off and into a brand new year, and you're like the little engine that could. You're like, oh, I'm coming off break. But then you get your power, and you're like, oh, fuck yeah. We're, like, plugging right along. And then when October hits, it's like— It's not even October.

It's September. Kids back in school.

I'm— 6.30.

Yes.

That's killing me, waking up at 6.30. Yeah. But for me, it's not so much the school aspect. Like I'm pretty good through September. It's when October hits that I'm like, we're done here.

Yeah.

Let's call it a day. So I wanted to know from my friends, aka my listeners, what is the biggest struggle for you right now? What is your biggest struggle, mom?

I think my health. Your health?

Yeah. How are you feeling, by the way? Why don't you update people?

When I don't take my medication, I still get tremors.

Okay. Yeah.

And I get headaches. So I got a bunch of pills, vitamins.

Yeah.

That I'm going to take and see if that helps.

Did you look it up to see what helps a headache? Because you're getting a lot of water.

Yeah.

Tons of water. Yeah.

You've never had this much water in your whole life.

So I'm trying to amp up on dopamine.

Yes.

With your almonds and your aspartame.

Yeah.

Do you feel like you've been doing pretty well with your workouts?

I start on tomorrow.

PT? Yeah. That's great. Yeah.

My legs are tired. Like, I just want to.

Feel good. Yeah. Can I tell you something, though? My legs are always tired. It always feels like I have run a marathon. Really? Yes.

Okay.

Even during my warm-up for working out, like, it's... The easiest thing and my thighs are on fire. Like I just ran really far.

Okay. Good to know. Now I won't feel so bad.

I think you should also implement either every week or every other week a massage. You should be texting Vicky and have a standing day where you do that.

I think so too.

That has to happen.

Yeah.

You should text her today.

Because I'm very stiff.

Yes.

And you know what? You could even do it. You could do it right before bed when like kids are down, you could ask her, just say, you know, every other Tuesday or whatever it may be. Can you come to the house at this time? You just have a standing time.

I think that's a great idea.

Yeah. I think that's what you should do. Yes. Um, so yours is health TT. Is there something that has been a struggle for you?

Um, I won't say it's a struggle, but it's been, I've been working on it and that's my patients.

Okay.

Okay.

That just life goes at its pace. And sometimes it's just up to me to kind of fit in life and that I can't control time. I can't control other people's time to just sit back and relax. If that makes sense. Cause it gives me anxiety, like time. So I have ETA on the side. Oh, if anybody knew, but yeah, estimated time of arrival because I'm so on time.

Like It's just a huge thing for me. Like, I feel like if I wake up, I should be doing something different. And it's like, no, you can wake up and just get into the morning. So that's what I'm working on. And I feel like I almost.

Feel badly calling you in the morning because for the most part, it's like, yes, there are times where I'm like, I really fucking need you this morning. But for the most part, it's just that I've woken up and like, I'm ready to be with my crew.

No, sometimes I will say me and mom have talked about this. I'll wake up in my room and sit, chill. I'll go down in my house and like, just hang out, watch TV. Cause there are times where I would just go over to your house. And I sometimes think like, maybe you i want you to have like you and your kids time does that that's how i feel yeah so like mom even said like she'll stay in my room a little bit longer because we just want to give you your time with your kids in your space so when you call to like come over i'm like okay yeah i like the call.

Because i'm like i just don't want to add to the pressure it's like i just i'm calling because i want you to.

Come over like from my family at all this is like even just me like When today I'm going to go and do a whole bunch of things like right now, it's my time. And I'm like, well, what if I'm missing out on something with you guys? You know, like I just have to relax. Time is what it is. I'll fit in life when I can.

I'm working on that too. Yeah. Or like I'm thinking a million miles ahead and it's like, when have you ever not gotten something done?

Yes.

Like when the time comes. You'll get it done.

I'll get it done.

I don't need to know what I need to get done on a Sunday because there's nothing to be done.

Yeah. So like that's mine because just like patience, just time, patience, and breathing through them.

You get to my age and it's like, I got all the time in the world. If I don't get it done right now, I can get it done in an hour.

That's nice. You've always been that way though.

When you get to this age, well, Lisa, you're like a golden girl.

You've been living in the golden age for your whole life. I have.

It's okay to say yes.

This person said trying to balance motherhood of a toddler and deciding on baby number two. That's their biggest struggle right now.

How could you help out with this one?

Gosh, I don't even know because here's the thing. I've always been told there's no right time to have a baby, right? Yeah. And like I had.

I think the longer you go, the harder it gets.

Well, yeah, because then you've got a kid who's self-sufficient and you're basically starting over.

Over.

Yeah. I mean, I look at Sosa right now and I'm like, you're two. If I really did want another baby... But if you wait.

Until they're seven, it's kind of like you got a built-in babysitter.

Babysitter, that's also true. But they still have places to go and be and like.

And Seven's a little young for a built-in movie.

Well, I'm saying, like, not leave them at home.

No, but think about how helpful Ocean is.

Yeah, like Ocean and Sosa just go and... Like, I'm not leaving.

Sosa together while I, like, catch a movie.

You're not?

No.

But it's like, Ocean, can you get.

They play in her room. They play... Like, they just play. You can do your own thing. So it's kind of nice having them at a close age.

But at the same time, there's a little, like, strife going on. I don't know the word I want to say, but because Sosa... will color on Ocean's projects when she leaves it out.

But we had a talk about that yesterday and I was like, Ocean, you have to understand your sister wants to color too. And she doesn't know that this is your art project that you've worked really hard on or if it's just a piece of paper. So if it's that important to you while she's still young, you have to put it somewhere safe. And you also, if she's coloring something on something, you can't just like claim every sheet of paper or... you know, page of the coloring book. Like, she has to be able to play, too. And she did understand. I'm like, if it's important, you need to put it away.

Good, good.

I always think you should have two kids because I know people that have one child.

It's a lot.

And the children....

Demand a lot.

Well, not only that, but then they grow up and they're like, I wish I had a sibling. You learn how to share. I definitely think.

You should have at least two kids.

Like Ocean right now is learning how to share, not through other people at school and being, because then you come home and then everything's yours again. So it's like, it's very hard to figure out. And I'm sorry. I know, you know, just a one child in the family and they are rough. Yeah.

No, I love having two kids. But I do understand the balancing motherhood because then if you're deciding on baby number two, you don't know how the pregnancy is going to go. You've got to chase them around. You could have morning sickness. You could be sick your entire pregnancy like Brittany was.

But guess what? That's not her reality.

I love when you say that.

Her reality is going to be perfect.

Yeah. My kids are three and a half years apart and it is perfect.

And see, you guys were two years and five months and I thought that was perfect.

This is great. I love this.

No, the one thing that I will say that I'll try to do, I think it's ninth grade though, like high school, but I loved, ours was 10th, 11th and 12th for high school into the new school. And I liked being in 10th grade and you being a senior. So we at least went to school together, at least like.

Went to school together through elementary school, junior high and high school. Yeah.

But you had two years where you were at a different school, but then I got to come in and we had one year together at Churchill and then one year at Skyline.

Yep. Work from home. Mom trying to keep an 18 month old occupied while I try to work is exhausting.

Oh, you are seen, sweetheart. Holy shit.

I'm telling you. I think being a stay at home mom period is the hardest job on the planet. It is.

Yeah. Especially when you have to get other things done.

And now you're not only, you're a stay at home mom who works from home. You're like a superhero. That is so hard. Like when I'm podcasting from home and I've got kids coming in and out and wanting to talk to me about whatever grievances they.

Want to air.

I'm like, can we discuss this when I finish? I know, mom, but you never do this with me. I'm like, all right, I got it. And 18 months, that's when they're on the move.

Yes.

Yeah, that is a struggle. This person said morning sickness. That is rough. I hope it's like you don't have another child to take care of. of because morning sickness is brutal. It's like being car sick.

Oh, I remember when I was sick with you.

Is that help?

Can I tell you what they use for it? That is Unisom.

Okay.

Okay. And that makes you go to sleep. Well, so does Dramamine. Perfect. But it, like, makes you go to sleep.

I'd rather do that than feel like shit.

Can I tell you, I had morning sickness I'll never forget. I was driving to Bountiful.

Yeah.

Which was 25 miles from my house. Oh, my gosh. And I barfed in my lap. I was pregnant with you.

And then what did you do?

I had to pull over and go home.

Oh. Yummy.

You had to drive yourself home covered in vomit? Mm-hmm. That was awful.

You know what? I'd rather be driving home in vomit knowing I'm going to change than going somewhere feeling sick.

What do you mean?

Like if she didn't vomit where.

She was going.

Did you feel better?

Hell yeah. There's nothing like a good vomit.

You know, I had morning sickness with both of my kids, but never actually tossed my cookies. It was always just feeling very nauseous.

Oh, I would have stuck my fingers down my throat and made something come out.

Yeah. Yeah. I'm scared for my future. I am a senior in college and don't know what I want to do in life. My love.

I'm 33 and in your boat.

The amount of pressure we put on these kids when it comes to high school and knowing where you want to go to college and what you want to major in and what is your future like, it's like, I don't know.

Is that a senior in high school or college?

Yes, and then I'm saying by the time you graduate, you're what, 22, 23, and you're expected to know what field you want to go into?

Your frontal lobe hasn't even fully developed.

Exactly. The amount of pressure this person is under. Like, I'm sure they are listening, but like, take some air out of the tires. You don't have to know. Do you know the amount of People who I know who went to college, got degrees, they don't use their degree in any capacity. Just take a step back, and it's not that serious.

Can I tell you? I picked my job as in a dental office because I only worked four days a week.

That's the only reason.

I love that.

Well, when I first started out, it was four. Then I went to three. That's why.

I love that. Most people don't think... this person is a senior in college and feeling the exact same way that I'm feeling at the age of 36.

Yeah.

Where I'm like, I'm scared for my future. I don't know what I want out of life. And there's like, I don't know if it's like the generations that came after you where we think this way, but I do want with my kids to let them know like you have time just because you're graduating from high school, I don't need you to know what you want to do.

Just be, if you choose to go to college, just because you're graduating from college, you don't need to know what you want to do because guess what? You figure it out. Then life throws you a curve ball and it's completely different. You have zero control. I just want you to like relax. Obviously don't think that things are just going to be handed to you, but like live in the moment.

Because I like that live in the moment.

Yes. Because there's going to, you're going to be fine.

Yep.

You're going to be fine. You're going to figure it out. You're going to find your partner. You're going to have kids. And life just happens.

It sure does.

Right?

With no predictions.

Biggest struggle right now, my mother-in-law.

I don't have one, thank God.

That's tough.

I mean, the movies like Monster-in-Law exist for a reason. They are difficult. Very. We're wishing you luck. By the way, though, that's going to be on my list. I was talking to Amber on last week's episode of Unlikely. And we're putting together a list of like our non-negotiables, what we want, and then like our dream man and a part of that list. Is going to be the family units must connect.

Because I need to be able to say, like, where are we spending Christmas together? What are we doing for Thanksgiving? Like, I just want a house full of people and families.

I like that, too.

Yes. Like, that would be my dream. Mine, too. Not getting married, but like a commitment ceremony with like a tiny little tot, maybe a boy running around where it's like you and his mom are like thick as thieves. You guys can call each other.

I love that.

Isn't that so fun?

Yeah.

I want that.

I want that.

Biggest struggle right now, money. Oh.

That's life.

Can I tell you though, there's no stress like a money stress. There's nothing you can do about it.

No, especially when gas keeps going up, everything keeps going up and you're pay is the same you know.

Yeah it's fucked up yeah and i wish that there was something i could money too by the way i need to go through my subscriptions and cancel a bunch because the bundling i have like four different disney accounts i just signed up for that on your phone youtube.

The subs what Subscriptions. Is it on your phone?

I don't know.

I got to ask.

I know. But now I've got YouTube that has HBO because I wanted the Sunday ticket so I can watch the Ravens games and not through just the red zone.

I don't know if you can do it through chat GPT or, but Google Gemini, I saw a commercial and in the commercial they were like, they asked Gemini to go through and see all their subscriptions. And what Google did was go into their, um, email.

Hmm.

And filtered the email and went like confirmation codes. And it said how many they were paying for. And then he could go through and like, it's ridiculous. So chat GPT might be a good way or Google.

Let's do that because I don't even want to know how much I'm spending each month on these fucking subscriptions.

I'm over $ 500 in just TV.

That is ridiculous.

Well, I have to be because I pay for the live TV at home and it's that in itself is over 200 and something dollars with all of the things that I get so we can watch movies.

Yeah.

And then I have all of the subscriptions at the LA house and then I pay for it.

And then I pay $ 7. 99 for mine.

Oh, geez.

What I would give for a $ 7. 99. You're paying for Netflix.

We're living in the same house. We should cancel them.

I'm paying for Netflix in that house and in Palm Springs. A whole new thing. NFL Network shit.

$ 7.

99 for my room.

We need help. Yeah, we do. Wait, isn't it Rocket something?

Rocket money.

Hey, rocket money, come to help us.

Help me. Help me get rid of my subscriptions and also pay me to do an ad. Oh, I love this one because I relate. Keeping the dang house clean. I cannot. I went to bed, the sink, all dishes done. I come down this morning. I'm like, what are all these fucking dishes?

I loaded the dishwasher.

It was Lauren, probably from her cheeseburger.

No, it's it's Sosa's little bin with all the like stuff. I'm like, where is this coming from? I've got dishes coming out of my ears. Every time I come into the room, I've cleaned up in arts and crafts, which you too, you said you cleaned Ocean's room four times yesterday.

No, we need to start making.

I told her I said because it was in her room and then the bomb went off down the hallway into the family room. I said, here's the deal. And I'm not playing with you. I am setting a timer. If in 20 minutes your room is not clean and this area, it will all be thrown away.

And I'm not joking.

Or given away.

Whatever.

It won't belong to you anymore. So she was busy as a little bee getting all.

Her stuff cleaned up.

Well, I was talking to Easton.

I said, oh, Easton, this will be easier. I said, we'll just toss it.

Throw it in garbage bags and give it away. And she started going. But there is going to be a time where I think you guys need to throw things in a garbage bag, act like it went somewhere, bring it to my house, put it in the garage or something. And when she starts to clean up, she gets those things back.

Yeah.

Because I don't clean, but I only watch you guys and you're always cleaning.

I'm exhausted.

And last night I started the dishwasher and put the dishes away. So I don't know what.

I had some plates that came down last night, but it wasn't that. It was like the stuff I hand wash for Sosa where it was more shit in the sink. It's fine. It's not a big deal. I just relate to this person.

You want it clean.

I relate to so many of these, you guys. Being stuck between wanting to find my happily ever after or just say fuck it and live my life. Like, same.

Did you write that?

I feel like I wrote most of these.

I know.

I feel for this person. These fucking period cramps. I get it. I've got two good weeks a fucking month because my PMS makes me want to drive off of a cliff. Then the period hits and I'm sobbing and need like a fucking diaper. I'm like, enough already. And then it's over and I'm like, I'm so happy. I feel great. I'm like.

But doesn't it make you feel good that other people are going through the same things? You're not alone.

That's why we do this for the bonus though. So that we can all just like relate.

Feel like we're not alone. Yes.

Misery loves company. I'm telling you what.

And I'm fucking miserable.

Damn it.

My weight. I've been struggling for a while now and I feel defeated.

I can feel that because.

You cannot relate to that in any capacity.

And it really is like, I can only imagine what it is like to lose weight. I try to put on weight. I can't put on weight. I'm eating. I do things. I feel I ate so much one day that I literally went over to my house and threw up in the toilet. And I was like, I can't eat that much. I can't put on weight. I looked at my family, things like that. And I'm sorry. There is, I want to put on weight as bad as they want to lose weight. I want to put it on.

It's a two way street. So I feel it.

Yes, there are my, there are options. A GLP-1, but also I think, was it Weight Watchers that I think has such a perfect formula to this, the point system? Don't you think?

Yes.

You don't deprive yourself of anything. It tells you if you want that piece of cake, you have this many points to use. That's going to take up 20 of them. You've only got 40 more left. Do you want the whole piece of cake or maybe we just have a bite of it? I find that to be a very healthy way of doing things, the point system.

And there's Jenny Craig where they prepackage meals.

For you too. Prepackage meals. The thing is, and I don't know if this will help because I personally have never struggled with weight loss. Like I genetically just haven't. I have had times where I'm like, I feel very thin and I don't feel womanly and my clothes are baggy and I can just, I feel like people are looking at me like feed this woman.

Like as a guy, like I think people are looking at me from the back, looking at my like little elbows and stuff, you know, and they look and I just, I'm self-conscious too. We all are self-conscious in our own way. That's the beauty of this is we're all self-conscious. Yeah.

Yeah, I agree. But I want to validate this person. I've been struggling for a while now and I feel defeated. Like I think everyone goes through those moments of feeling defeated. Maybe have like a little like ceremony for yourself where it's like you can thank every part of your body because if you really think about it, you've always said, mom, your health without it, you have nothing. Nope. So, like, thank your body for what it does for you. And then, like, have a cutting of the cord where it's like, we're now going to make changes. And my mind and body are going to work together to make that happen. And I'm going to fucking do it.

Yeah.

The mind is a powerful thing. Yep. Balancing trying to enjoy holidays again, but still not used to my mom not being here. That's brutal. Brutal. Mm-hmm.

You guys relate with dad not being here.

Yeah.

Only time is going to be able to heal that. But even now, like, even football, when we watch, I, like, still go back to, like.

No, yeah, dad downstairs.

Growing up, yeah.

It's like, it's what it was.

Teaching my daughter to drive as a single mom, that sounds terrifying. Oh, shit. Do you imagine? No.

Thank God I don't have to.

I'm wildly unhappy with my son's father.

Baby daddy.

Another relatable moment.

Yeah. It's not called baby mama drama. It's called baby daddy drama because you guys cause the shit. We just react. Yep. All right. You may be the little waves, but we're the fucking storm that comes. So don't fuck around and find out, buddy. Fuck around and find out. Fake and selfish people just feeling so unappreciated by the people around me.

Get to burning the bridges or have a productive conversation because I have many people, not many, I've had people in my life where I really enjoy them. They fill my cup, but sometimes I feel like it's a one-way street and I have voiced this to them. And then it's like, I'm so happy you said something. Like, I want to show up for you. That's not my intention and I'm so sorry.

Yeah.

You know? She should have a conversation.

You should have the conversation. My estranged mother died on Friday. I will never get the closure I need.

I'm sorry.

I think you got to write it out on paper and give it to the wind or put it in the ocean. Something to get it off of your chest and put it out there where you believe she will see it.

You know what? I love that you just said that.

Because for dad, I would do it in the beach or into the ocean if I felt that need, you know?

You can't put it in the ocean. It's littering.

Well, life is just, you know, put it on a... I would do it on a biodegradable golf ball. Right on the golf ball. Throw a biodegradable.

Boom!

Are there biodegradable golf balls?

I don't think so. What I would do if I were her is like.

Because so many people hit them into like lakes and things like that who on the... So instead, they just Dissolve into the water.

It's not like hitting a nice golf ball. I'm pretty sure that is 100% false. I think there are many a golf ball in the ponds and lakes.

This is not on the golf course, yes.

No. Google it. You know what, though? I like where your head's at. I think she should write it down. She should also have like the little ceremony. Wow, first thing that.

Pops up, biodegradable golf balls, 4.5.

Okay, so you have to get a biodegradable golf ball. Yes, but like... I'm sure she has a lot more to write than what's just going to.

Fit on a golf ball, Easton. They probably come in more than just one golf ball. You might have to use 20 of them, but.

No, just write it on a piece of paper, have a ceremony, and light it on fire.

Oh, like they do with those things that they push up.

Mm-hmm, exactly. Having so many.

There's that Rise Festival she could go to.

You should go to the Rise Festival, babe.

That's what I was thinking of. Yes.

In the desert in just outside of Las Vegas. That is a great idea. That's what she should do.

Isn't it coming up?

No, it just passed.

Okay.

Having so many bills with a job who isn't giving me a better pay raise when I put work in. Fuck the man, dude.

Fuck the man.

My baby's four-month sleep regression. There's nothing that will depress you more than lack of sleep. How expensive it is to be alive. I know. They're trying to charge us to breathe. It really does. When I think about it, I'm like, I have to pay to do every single thing on the planet. And like you said, you want to have a night in? Well, then your lights are on.

You're using water, power, gas. Got to eat.

Got to eat.

Like no matter what, you got to pay money. You want to watch something? We're going to need you to.

Pay for it. And the house payments are growing.

Every time I leave the house, I somehow end up spending at least $ 50 for no reason.

Oh, a minimum. Are you kidding?

It's usually around a hundred and it's not even things I need. It's like, okay, well I got to stop and get gas. Oh, dog food.

Oh, this.

By the time I spent the money, I'm like, wow, shouldn't have left the house.

For real though. Today's a fasting day. Resetting the body and mind. Entering cold and flu season as someone who has severe phobia of being sick.

It's not your reality.

Not your reality. What I highly recommend is colloidal silver spray.

And wellness pills.

And health and wellness pills. I also take zinc and vitamin A, which I love the combination of that.

And vitamin C.

Vitamin C is a great one. I usually only put that on my skin, but I should be consuming it as well. That's what I'm into. Oh, and elderberry. Yeah. I'm a holistic kind of bitch. My three-year-old girl tantrums. Nothing funnier than a kid tantruming. Taking everything not to throw a tantrum back at her. Have you seen that video of like the millennial moms checking their kids to show how much pettier they can be?

Yes, because of you.

Yeah, I don't like you. I don't like you more. I'm going to stay cool then. I'm going to stay cooler. Okay, bro. All right, sis. So good.

No, that's the one thing that I have to catch myself on when I am arguing with your daughter. Like, I'm the adult. I am the adult. I cannot fucking do that. Sometimes I do it, though.

Oh, sometimes I get real Vanderpump Rules lala on her ass. That's for sure. I'm like... She can take it, though. You better recognize.

She was built for it.

She was built for it.

She handles it and sometimes... After I give it to her and I'm like, I won. She'll say one thing and I'm like, oh, wow.

To put you right in your grave.

Yes, and then I kind of just go over to my own house.

Oh, I told you. Even her teachers are like, she's got some grit to her. She does.

She's an old soul for sure.

One more thing that I want to say about Ocean before we sign off. So they have uniforms and you have to stick to the colors, right? And she wore leopard shoes. And she said to the teacher... that her leopard shoes are a neutral, which I've told her leopard shoes are a neutral. So she relayed that to her teacher and her teacher obviously had a rebuttal. And Ocean politely asked her, you know, if there is a problem with my shoes, can you please talk to my mom about it? So I go to parent teacher conference. The teachers are so sweet and cool and I love them.

But before I get there, I had taken her to school and she said to me, are you going to talk to my teachers today about my shoes? And I was like, yeah, of course. She said, you know, I'd really like you to ask them, mom, why I can't wear leopard shoes, but girls can come to school with pink and blue hair. Because those are not a part of our uniform colors.

I love that.

And I didn't have an answer. So I walk in. The teacher's like, we got to talk about the shoes. Ocean asked me yesterday, are you going to talk to my mom about the shoes? And I asked her straight up, like, how do I have that conversation with her? And? They were like, it's a great point. I don't really know what to say. I was like, I'll get her uniform appropriate colored shoes, but like- I'm just letting you know, this is the way my daughter thinks.

Which is smart.

Yeah. She's like, and we pull up and the woman who's doing the carpool situation drop off has bright pink hair. She'll see that woman's an adult mom and she has pink hair.

Makes sense.

I'm like, makes sense. Anyway. Anyway. Best of luck to all of you as we finish out the year that is never ending yet flew by so quickly. I love you guys. We're on the struggle bus together. We will catch you next week. Love you. Bye. Bye. Bye.
