Reality with the King is hosted by me, Carlos King. I'm an executive producer who have produced some of your favorite shows from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, New Jersey, and my own creation, the Love.
And Marriage franchise and Bell Collective.
Every episode, we recap reality television from the Real Housewives franchise to The Bachelor or Selling Sunset. in addition to celebrity guests, whether in the unscripted space or scripted as well.
Hey, Raindrops.
On today's episode of Reality with the King, I am sitting with a cast member from my show, Love and Marriage Huntsville. This woman has been the talk of the Huntsville town all season. So, of course, I had to make sure to invite her for her first exclusive one-on-one interview, not only with me, but about this show. Give it up for the one, the only, Destiny Payton.
What's up, Los? I see that I can be inspiring to you, just like I can be inspiring to some neighbors. But, you know, we'll talk about that later. You look good, though. Well, thank you. This is a Detroit thing.
I love it.
We're wearing cream. Yes.
Because we are the light.
Is that what it is?
It is. In darkness. We are the light.
Who's dark in your life?
In my life or at my job?
Which one? I am W. Well, listen. I have to say this.
This season... of Love and Marriage Huntsville's off the chain. But I do want to say this to you as we kick off my official series of talking to my Love and Marriage Huntsville cast members.
So you're the first one. That I want.
Should be the only, but that's okay.
Not too much, Destiny.
Not too much. No, all our girls and people, let me just say cast deserves.
No, this cast is, I will go on record always saying this cast is like the best. Like what you guys give to this program. I'm so appreciative. But I want to give you your 10.
Because, no, true life.
I have this co-host on my, you know, I have this show called Monday Night Live.
Shameless plug.
You may have heard of it.
You know, we get like 10,000 live people a night on Mondays.
Okay, all right.
But I have this guy named Dustin Ross who you may have heard of. He's from Flint, Michigan. Yeah, Michigander.
He may have interviewed you too.
It's funny because last season, and Dustin never calls me.
He called me and he said, Lowe's.
You know how Destiny talks?
Lowe's.
I'm like, yes. Yeah, Destiny's taking it. She's like the most improved reality star of the decade. And I'm like, okay. It's funny because I remember.
He gives me hell.
I remember back in the day.
Oh, he still be throwing little jabs in there, but he gave me hell.
No, no, no, no.
Tino Shahid, hell. He gave me hell.
I will say this. You've been through hell, right? You've been through hell and back.
But God.
But God.
And God is the only one that gets the credit. But this feels different, Destiny. And I'm so excited to talk to you about it because I've been in this game for 20 years. I will go on record saying I've never seen a reality star go through the shit you have gone through on this show where there were audience members who demanded you be fired.
Oh, well, the rumor is I was.
Right, right. And we cleared that up already.
But they still saying it.
They still say, child, they still say things. I'm like, girl, who cares?
Like, I remember, and I'm sure you do too, like the bitch roll that came your way.
But you have emerged....
As a formidable player on this show to the point.
Where I.
Only see overwhelmingly positive comments about you. Talk to me, first and foremost, how does that feel to know that you're on the other side?
You live by the applause, you die by the boos. And I was booed for a long time. And I'm still standing.
So.
I'm grateful. I'm grateful that people are, are able to see more of destiny. Cause I think, um, I came into a space where there was this tight knit core group of the core no more. They used to be the core six and the core no more. There was this unwritten hierarchy that you kind of came in and you got in your place and all that. And I think I was a little bit dehumanized because they were able to say she's aggressive or she's You know, she's angry.
She's broke.
She's needy.
It was all the things that they said about me.
When you say that, you mean the cast?
Correct. Yeah. The cast. Former cast members. They created a narrative before I really knew my voice in the space. Because I'm a girl.
I'm from Detroit.
Like, you don't feed it to don't grow, right? Feed it to don't grow.
Whatever.
But that doesn't work in reality TV. If you don't feed it, somebody else tells your story. Somebody else is able to create your character for you. And I learned that the hard way. And I think... with a great gift from a great, great boss who talked me into something I didn't want to do, which is go to Detroit and show my family the root. People, I think, got a chance to see why I'm the way I am, why I'm guarded at times, why I don't play about myself and why I have to defend myself to the way that I do. And I think that opened doors to people to see me more as a human because people were, they were okay with like, just, bashing me and and dicks and I'm not playing victim it is what it is it's par for the course but I
was going through a lot like I was carrying a lot a lot a lot a lot and then legally some of the things I couldn't even talk about so my voice was silenced um but here.
I am no here you are and listen thank you for acknowledging that because I really made sure that my production had the budget To go to Detroit to make sure that we told your story, because I said to them, you know, this was last season, of course. And I'm like, look, the audience doesn't really know her because, like you said, in your previous relationship, we just weren't allowed to talk about that for legal reasons. And even at one of your first reunions, and I asked you, because I knew I had to ask for the audience to hear me ask you this so that you can answer in your way.
You answered it.
Fully, but still legally, we couldn't air everything.
Legally, we just couldn't. But you answered everything.
And I always felt that you were put in this position where you wanted to tell people everything, Legally, you just could not. And the only thing I was able to control was like, I'm able to control making sure she is talking about things that legally she can. And that's who you are as a girl from Detroit, your mom, all those things. And it was my decision to make sure we went to Detroit.
You know, we found a couple of dollars to go.
Because I'm like, we have to make this work because- I digress.
It was my mission. And I said this to you when I called you and I said, look, I fought for Kenya Moore on Atlanta Housewives to go to Detroit because at that time the world just did not understand Kenya. And I told Bravo, I said, can I please get some money to take Kenya to Detroit? Because I think once people see her childhood, they'll understand.
Her a little bit better. And thank God we did. And it happened. And thank God we did. And you did it. You did not want to do it.
No. Up until the moment.
And I remember telling production, because they said to me, Lo, she doesn't want to go.
And I'm going to be honest with y'all. Of course, I'm like.
We're already in Detroit now.
Um... I fought for this to happen. And look, it's for your benefit.
And, you know, I'm doing something nice and I'm trying to like help the girls.
But it's crazy because my mama wanted it. My bio mother, she is a star. Like she has, she's lived a hard life, but she has always been a star. And it was a hard scene. I think this is probably the worst space I've seen her in. And I wasn't, I didn't know that because I talked to her about, via my grandmother on a FaceTime call every now and again, she'll pop up on my aunt's or be with her, but she still showed up because she wanted to show up.
I didn't have to convince her. She was, she was like, this is overdue. I was supposed to be a long time ago, but I, I, I really, um, it was healing for me. One to be in the space as a big sister with siblings that I just met and to be able to be like the protector of them. Like my brother got arrested. So it wasn't me. And, um, to hear her singing and to like get that little, that, that, that part of her spirit out that is, was passed on to me. Cause I've been singing since I was six.
And a lot of people don't know that from the show. And, um, it was just, it was hard. It was raw, but it was real.
It was real. Yeah, do you regret doing it?
No, not at all.
I thought you were so vulnerable and I told production, I said, let her lead you guys. Because the way it works in our field, producers lead you guys to be like, let's do this, talk about that.
And I said, let's be a fly on the wall.
If she wants to not talk about this anymore, don't stop her.
Let her leave. And I got a call. They said, Yeah, she's done. She's done. I said, okay. Yeah, and I called you.
Oh, I said it. I said it. I said it. They probably said it. I said, Carlos said, when I'm done, I'm done. Camera's down. Carlos said. And they were like, ooh. Because at first they were like, oh, wait, what's she doing? I'm like, uh-uh. Carlos said, I'm done.
I got the call. I said, they said, she's done. I said, okay.
But no, it was, I loved it because I felt it was an opportunity for the audience to get to know the real you. And once again, we were able to see the, the, the fruitfulness of your full life. You talk about being a singer at six years old. So like, you are now a part.
Of the number one show on Oprah Winfrey Network. Mm-hmm.
Okay. How does it feel to know that you're like famous?
You are a celebrity and like you're being celebrated. Like is that little girl like, did she know.
This would come?
Not in this way because singing was my first love. And then I went to performing arts college in LA and singing and acting, got my degree, all those things. And so reality TV was taboo. When I started performing arts college, it was like, oh no, as an actress, singer, you don't touch reality TV. But during that time, NeNe Leakes was transitioning into Glee and acting. And I actually did background on Glee with NeNe Leakes.
What?
While I was in LA, yeah. I did a lot of background work. That's how I paid my bills. And that's how I got my SAG-E card. Now I'm SAG-AFTRA.
Okay, baby.
Yeah, uh-huh.
Reunion.
You paid your bills? Well, no, because y'all don't have reunion in Huntsville.
What?
Y'all don't have you in a hotel.
But when I go back to LA, I will. But no. So I actually was like, oh, wow, this is different. Like this is a transition to the industry being accepting of reality stars in the acting world and respected. And I give all. credit to the queen, Nene. And I watched it as I was being trained as an actress in LA. And so, yeah, that's, I still haven't, you know, I still get in trouble with my assistant and people that I move with. They're like, Destiny, you can't just move like, cause I'm like, what? My friend like, put that wig on. You going outside looking like that? I'm like, girl, what?
You can recognize a lot now?
I do.
Yeah.
Sometimes I catch the little glimpse and people try to act like it's not. But sometimes I'm just like, la, la, la. And I'll sit there and tell you my whole business. And they're like, I know who you are. After. Like, oh, my God.
No, the show's a huge hit.
I do want to ask you this because, you know, one of the things I want to do is to be able to make sure you have this platform to say everything you want to say, right? Um, you know, there are people who believe that you use.
The Holts when they were married to get on the show. Uh, huh?
Well, let's be real clear. I actually was at multiple events and it is our current showrunner that actually was the person that walked up to me at, I think the second event that I came to that the Holts were hosting. And he was like, who are you? why don't we see more of you? And that night, we ended up going to dinner and it was with somebody from Kingdom Reign.
I didn't know.
I was just being Destiny. And I heard someone say, you see why I need her? You see why I need her? And I'm like, what's that about? Then I find out later, like, I was being cast and didn't know I was being cast, which I don't think it was an intention, but it happened.
Like, oh....
I like her. And this is what I was told. So I didn't use the holts. It happened organically.
I got a phone call from those producers.
And they.
Because, you know, we felt like the holts needed an additional friend group. Because at the time, this is season two, and Martel and Marcel had that big argument about the 20 women allegation thing. And it felt like it was the Scots versus the Holts. And as producers, we always like to try our best to keep things even so it doesn't feel like it's one person against a group of people. And they called me and said, there's this woman named Destiny who's married and she's friends with the Holts.
We think she'll be good. And I trust them. And then we had a Zoom meeting.
Well, my Zoom meeting was something totally different. Remember I had paid for a consult to pitch a show to you?
Yes!
Before I was even... Didn't even think about being on Love & Marriage Huntsville.
Yes.
And you were like, wait a minute, you know I've heard about you.
Yes, you paid.
For a consultation to do something else in another location.
Correct, correct, correct.
And I said, but I heard about you. Why don't you want to do Huntsville? You said.
It's not that I don't want to do it. I haven't been asked, formally asked to do it.
But I'm on my own thing. And I said, well, this thing is working now.
And you know, reality is that I was actually on season one. Y'all had that first package.
Yes, I'm sorry.
And then I came in on the end when they extended it.
1B. We had an extension.
I'm sorry.
Yes, yes.
It was 1B. OG. Do you consider yourself an OG?
I consider myself original gangster, yes. Yes, I do.
The thing is this. When you started filming.
Love and Marriage Huntsville, what was that experience like for you at that time? Did you feel like you had to be or were you told to be loyal to the Holtz?
And fight against the Scots? Was that something?
No, absolutely not. Actually, what I felt like was, and to be totally transparent, you can tell me if I'm wrong, I felt like I was brought in to be a former castmate's support.
Yes.
Yeah, because I didn't really know her. I knew Martel, and I met her through Martel, and it was like, we just had a good vibe, and we kind of built our friendship and, well, relationship together. our relationship on the show and it was built in like a microwave if that makes sense quickly good vibes good energy and then when we had a a moment of hardship it didn't sustain because it wasn't it had been built quickly if that makes sense did.
You ever felt like the friendship between you and her was genuine or was it just biz was it did you feel like it It ended up being business, but you maybe have thought it was like genuine.
Yes. Duality. That's the thing that I call the social experiment of reality TV is duality. You have two things can be true at the same time.
And that's the reason why even on my podcast, I always talk about there's like this alliance that most cast members have on these reality shows. Did you feel like there was an alliance there that y'all needed?
In order for it to work? Or did you feel like you were a pawn being used?
Eventually I felt like a pawn, but initially it was just free game. Like, I don't think it was an alliance. It was like, you know, we're building this friendship and get to know the other people freely is what I was told. You know, hey, I'm not gonna try to stop that. And then when I started getting to know people because I'm a people person, I'm a real girl's girl, contrary to popular belief, it became a problem. And it's like, if this was a problem, that's what you should have said.
Not that that may have changed much, but it was ushered in. Like, get to know these people yourself. And that's what I did.
Do you think that when it came to your friendship with the Hoes, that this show.
Tainted it?
Or was it different agendas you felt like was happening that you just weren't privy to?
I think it was a lot I wasn't privy to. but I think that the cameras change a lot of people.
You do?
I do.
In what way?
Well, I felt.
I.
Might get in trouble for saying this. I felt at the Mondani relaunch. Re-re-re-re-re-re-launch.
Can we be real?
Yes.
That was good.
This is Reality with the King, and I'm Carlos King. Let's get back into the show. One thing I love about this genre, I love when another cast maker say, okay, bitch, you ain't that.
You know what I'm saying?
The re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re.
And that's the thing. When you're an entrepreneur, people, they re. We have to re-re-re-re-re-re. You have to reinvent yourself. You got to re-buy. You got to re-do. And that's the thing that I feel like, one, I show, even though it was good, bad, and indifferent, like, this is the real. Like, this is the real of how businesses are written. You don't just start a business. It's like, ooh, I'm a millionaire. Yeah.
That's not real. And then you have me with life in between all of those things. Divorce, all that, kids, dad getting sick, all those things happen in like a two-year span. So at the Madonna relaunch, I remember standing there and I was like, am I in the Twilight Zone? I was telling my daddy like, I want to go ahead and beat these bitches up. And that was like, I'm a business owner. I'm a mom now. I was a wife for two seconds. And all these things happen.
And I'm like, these people are asking me why am I upset about these things? Y'all know what's happened. Y'all know what's happened behind the scenes, which was way worse than on camera with some of these cast members. Let's be real clear. And I'm sitting there like, I'm the only one with a performing arts degree in all these months because it's acting. Acting like they don't see what's really going on. Acting like you don't see that we just had beef with this person two days ago. And I'm like, and they're like, what's wrong with you? Why are you upset? Why are you acting this way? And I'm like, weren't y'all there?
Weren't y'all there?
Kind of like, you know, episode that just happened. You know, just, what the hell?
What the hell?
Like, why are we not being 100? Why are we not being authentic in the space? Because, you know, it's reality TV and it's supposed to be real, right? But I feel like some people, they don't give the real, real. if that makes sense. Some people hold back.
Who do you think is the cast member on Love and Match Huntsville that doesn't keep it.
Real the most?
The most? I think that if people got to know the people... I can't say who, who, who. But I think that Well, Nell is herself. She crazy all day, every day. And I love her to death.
I was just watching an episode that's coming out months from down the line. Nell may have said motherfucker and fuck every two seconds. But I was on the plane watching it, laughing like Miss Nell.
Because that's her.
Don't even see a camera.
That's her. Right?
I was like, okay, girl.
But I laughed because I'm like, she is so authentically herself.
She said motherfucker twice.
Mm-hmm.
In one sentence, and I was here for it. But go ahead.
But if I would say anybody, I would say the core no more would benefit more of showing who they are. Who they really are. I love Baltimore Kimmy. I love Miami Reese. I love cool laid back Marceau. And I love bubbly housewife Tisha. Those people are great. When they turn into other people, it's like, who that is? How about who this woman? I do not know this man.
I'm sorry. To this man. I do not know this man. I'm just saying.
When it comes to Kimmy, what we have seen this season is the two of you kicked things off where Kimmy felt like on a podcast you did with Chase on NoChaserTV that, you know, pretty much saying the same thing. You didn't feel like the authenticity was there. I'm paraphrasing, of course. And she felt like that was something you should have said to her. You and Kimmy, since season one B.
One of the first moments you've had with a cast member was about chicken.
You know, your ex-husband's line of business.
It wasn't specifically about chicken. It was about the condescending nature of how she presented us, which, look at that. Isn't it the same now? Y'all just didn't know me and y'all just didn't like me because she was a favorite. And I came in and I was honest and confronted the situation as I saw it, which was, oh, you were trying to be shady. I caught it. And it was like, who is this girl? She coming in, it's our favorite. And that's got me in trouble a lot on the show because I say things that are sometimes not palatable. I can own that. And I say things to people's favorites that they don't really want to see in that light.
You felt that at that time, season 1B, when you confronted Kimmy about being condescending, you felt that because at that time, Kimmy was considered the fan favorite.
I didn't know. I just knew she said something about my then person. So it was like, whoever I love, I'm going to defend. It's an innate thing in me. And that's what I felt.
And are you saying that because the audience felt she was a fan favorite?
Oh, they drug me for filth. They drug me for filth after that chicken moment. I was like, well, whatever. I said what I said.
Did the negative comments.
come as a shot because I remember when I first hosted the Hollywood Divas reunion. It was my first time doing that job.
Thank you so much.
And you had, I'm way more pulled up than you are. And I, wait, I'm sorry. That is, that's history right there. That is, that is legendary. But that's R & B Divas, my bad.
It's still legendary though.
Hazelina Johnson.
I'm way more pulled up than you.
But I remember that was my first time experiencing negative comments. And I felt it. And I wasn't okay. Like, I'm being very honest with you. This was, of course, like over 10 years ago. But I remember my first experience with negative comments.
Do you remember yours?
Well, it definitely happened with the Kimmy and the chicken situation for sure.
But.
I don't know how to say this any other way, but I was the popular girl who always had negative comments, who always ended up at a school where a girl out of nowhere just didn't like me. And I didn't even know the girl's name. I can name a few incidents that happened that way. And I'm like, you don't like me? I don't even know who you are. Like, why do you not like me? So I think my skin was a little tougher than most coming into the situation.
And I'm from Detroit. Like, let's be clear. It's a right of passage to fight. I mean, and that's not me trying to be like, oh, I'm rah-rah. But it's the truth. And so I don't think that it landed on me. I was in the comments, though. I was slaying. Like, what? I said what I said and whatever. But then I realized now that doesn't do anything. It is what it is.
People just say what they say and it is what it is. They believe what they believe. You can try to convince them, but some people are going to either be in the middle, they're going to love you, or they're just going to try to find a way to be confused about you. And I, I accept it.
Kimmy did a recent interview. I'm not sure if you saw it, um, where she said that she feels like you get a lot of protection from production. Um, do you know what.
Did you see the interview?
I think I know what you're talking about.
Yeah.
She pretty much intimated that, um, you're protected by production and, um, they, the, They call themselves the core six. You have another day for them.
Where the six of them at? The core no more.
So she said that, you know, they had to go through the mud and show everything.
I'm sorry.
She feels like when it comes to certain people, and she did say your name, that she feels like you don't, for whatever reason, she feels like, you get a certain type of treatment and that editing is in your favor.
What she's saying that season one through 100, what she's saying that when they have been, I feel like protected. I feel like the Scots have definitely, I'm not going to say favorable edit, but I feel like they present a way and I'm not going to say protected because I feel like people give what they give. But I think that's actually comical. I think I've been shown in every light that I could possibly be shown in, good, bad, or indifferent. And I feel like Kimmy has been a fan favorite for 111 seasons. And eventually, your mask slips.
And that's with everybody. Not just Kimmy. Because you can be like, you said this in an interview about everybody. I definitely don't get the favorable edit, y'all.
Nobody. This is the crazy part.
And listen, I don't mind saying this, and Kimmy will be on my couch because she and I have.
After me. But she'll be on your couch when? She should be.
Destiny, please.
What I do, what I did.
So I will say that Kim.
and I had.
The crazy part is, I'm going to say this.
Go ahead.
I actually, when I say I love Baltimore Kimmy, the one that be swinging her neck and talking and getting me together at my house. She came and cooked for me after my dad passed.
She brought.
She called me consistently when she knew he was going through his transition. This is going to be hard. She's a nurse, so she knows. This is going to be hard, Destiny. And so, even after leaving me in the airport stranded with tumbleweeds, she showed up for me during one of the most difficult times of my life. So, I'm not going to ever not give credit when credit is due.
She did. And so, for her to feel like I get the favorite girl, please. But, I'm going to give... One of the things I would never do is be fake. So did I feel a way about the airport? Did I feel a way about how I've been treated? She was one of the first people that said I didn't deserve to be on this platform. Like we're not all working.
And I thought that was very unfair and kind of, I mean, like what did we know about her at that point? But she was a nurse. That's all we knew was nurse Kimmy. But I didn't say you didn't need this job. You shouldn't be here on this platform. I felt like that was really, as she says, in poor taste. Um, but I, again, there's duality. There's duality.
She showed up for me in moments where cameras weren't there.
I love that.
And so I'm going to give her her credit for that. And I appreciate her for that. And I loved getting drunk with her at my house and her swinging that ponytail with that pretty big hair telling me and everybody else off. That's Kimmy I love.
You love that Kimmy.
Love that Kimmy.
What do you say when people say Kimmy is not a girl's girl? Do you agree with that?
Um, I think she's a Maurice girl.
Yeah.
That's, I mean, like.
What's a Maurice girl?
That's her world. That's her man. That's her, you know. And I love Reese. Like, Reese is like, for real, if I had to pick a big brother out of this crew, people probably don't know that, it would be him. Like, Maurice is, he's like a big brother. He reminds me of my big brother, actually.
Yeah, no, he has great affinity for you.
Yeah, that's my dog.
And you've seen the scenes where even when you and Kim worked at the best, He has always been like.
We've also made a lot of money together. He's a real lawyer. Let's be clear. So that might be why he got a little affinity because we done made a lot of money together. He's a real lawyer. He's won a lot of money for me. Thank you, Reese. Thank you.
Okay, we love that. We love that. We love that.
Okay, so maybe the audience, like you said, see that she's about her man, her man, her man. And maybe the audience... Because I'm sure you've seen the comments where... people have said like, especially this season, they have said she's not a girl's girl. And that when she's in scenes with women, she seems disinterested.
I don't know. What scenes with women?
Well, this season, they're saying this when they saw the scenes with her, Tisha, and Arianne.
And I would be disinterested too.
We'll get that in a second.
Oh, sorry.
No, it's okay.
It's okay.
You can write the comment after I said it.
Why would she?
And then there was a scene when Tisha brought her and Nell together to address their issue.
Oh, I don't know what it is. Kimmy can't stand Nell.
What do you think it is?
I don't know.
Okay, this is my feeling. This is my thoughts. People get mad when I say my perception because they think perception is not reality. When I say that's my perception of a situation, just FYI, for anything that I've said in the past, because perception is reality. If I perceive it a way, that's my reality. I just feel like, you know, you ain't never seen Kimmy come Baltimore until you seen her say, bitch. And I was like, oh, there she go. Yeah, that's Kimmy. But I know now going to be, and bitch back.
And I don't give a damn, bitch.
It was so many bitches on that reunion. I was like.
No, I literally was like.
And you sat next to me and you was like.
Well, speaking of now, listen. The....
Friendship that you and Nell have is so sweet. You know, listen, you and her have, like you said last season, where she's kind of like.
I'm.
Not saying motherly because of age. I'm not saying that.
But, you know, you have this affection for her because of her... feeling like somebody that can, like, give you great advice and tell you.
You've been said it. You're like, I don't mind when you tell me I'm wrong.
At all.
Like, I actually appreciate it.
My real friends do that.
And if I understand where you're coming from, I'll receive it. Talk to me about your friendship with Nell because you two are very close.
So my friendship with Nell, I was introduced to Nell and Chris from the Holts before TV. And you know, it took Nell a time to actually want to come on the show. So her and I were developing in a relationship where I was on camera, she wasn't. I'd pull up to the daycare, we'd sit and talk. She'd come by the house. So she prayed for us. When we talk about those back porch conversations with the host, I was there too. I was there as a married woman too. And so I've seen a side of Nell that most don't get to see. When that lady start praying, when I tell you you get chills over your body, Like she has some prophetic things in her. And even in that moment, she was in the position of caretaking with her mother and her mother was transitioning. And the
moments that she got to hang out with us was like life for her. And so I fell in love with her in those moments. And we've had some rough patches. I didn't check Chris and me and her didn't got into it about that. And so I feel like we've been through things. We've argued hard. We've been in hard spaces, I would say. things that I feel like we both acknowledge, we talked through, we got through. And hell, she cussed me out the other day. I mean, so it's just, it's par for the course with Nell. I mean, I'm used to it.
You don't know what cuss out until you've been cussed out by Nell. Nell cussed me out a few months ago.
And I was literally on the phone like this.
Like this hurts.
What I'm going to say, I.
Said, and I literally said, I understand Ms.
Nell. Yeah. I get it. I'm not doing that.
It's just her. And I promise you, her heart is pure. She can have a moment.
She messy.
Messy. But I love her and I know her heart is pure.
I do.
I want to get into this season of Love and Marriage Huntsville.
You and Tisha were very close at one point. Very close. And you and Tisha went through a lot.
Yeah.
And come in. It's okay. It's okay.
I feel like... Thank you, love. I feel... Okay, are we doing this?
No, go ahead. This is reality with the king, baby.
Okay, reality, reality. So I really feel like... I think Tisha's a beautiful soul. And I think that Tisha is. Thank you, love. I think that she's a beautiful soul. But I think that sometimes what's required of her. Makes her operate in a space that's not really authentically her. And sometimes it is because I'm still trying to figure out what we fighting about. Well, she got something to fight with me about now.
She be mad now. Stay tuned. Something happened last week.
So when this scene happens, come back and watch this interview because this, something crazy happened last week that May change everything.
Oh, it should. I don't give a damn. But at this point, I've told people. Okay, I'm getting off topic. Tisha, I think, is a beautiful woman. A great mother.
Great mother.
Dress her tail off.
Gorgeous.
Beautiful woman. But I think that she doesn't know that. I think that she needs to really believe it. And then I think that her disdain and issues with me would be a lot smaller.
Let me ask you this.
When you say that, because when I look at Tisha, I see this beautiful woman, like you said, all the things. A great mother, dresses her ass off, and Listen, I know you guys aren't the best right now, but from my vantage point, I think Tisha Scott is one of the sweetest women ever.
She was.
Okay, okay. Okay, so... Okay.
When you say you wish that who she presents on the outside that she believes because she is that girl, why has that, though, affected your relationship with her? Is it because you're so confident that.
I didn't... see that, but I couldn't understand what we were fighting about. And I had that same situation happen prior with the previous cast member. Like I didn't understand what we were fighting about. And I think that because even in my peaks and valleys, I still, I'm still destiny. You know, even if I'm not as brazen or like, you know, loud with my light, I'm still me. I've never had to search for who I was. I had to reinvent myself. I had to you know be different in different spaces but still core of myself me there's things that I saw her do a podcast and I poured into you and we poured into each other because I wanted her to see her as big as I saw her as beautiful as I saw her as I see her and I think it When the whole beef
and banter started, I was like, this is a moment. I'm going to let her have it. She's going through some stuff.
Got to be.
But then it kept going. And it kept going. And it kept going. I'm like, I'm still trying to figure out what the root of our problem is. And it really didn't have anything rooted in it. But I feel like she was able to make it bigger because of her own insecurities. And that's just me being honest. And it's unfortunate because I took Tisha to the hood. I took her to the west side of Detroit. My grandmother's porch.
Some of my closest friends have never even been there. Because I really believed that we were building something genuine. And when you start fighting with me about nothing, and you can come into a space and try to belittle me when I'm building myself back up, I was like, what's that about? Like, I need you to figure that out. Like, it ain't me. I've done nothing. Well, I have now.
But before.
Mm-hmm.
There was no need for me and Tisha to be crying. At the reunion, I stopped myself from crying because here I am again crying over a friendship or relationship or this social experiment ship. But I just wish that she saw herself as big as I see her. And it probably will never be something that she receives because we're not in a good space, but that's just real.
I actually feel the sincerity in that. I don't think that was shade. I don't think that was you being messy. I will say, me sitting here and knowing you, I 100% believe that you are sincere when you say that. May I ask if you feel like your stardom affected your friendships with Tisha and Melody?
Yes. Yes.
Yes, because as soon as my light started to shine, it was put out with, she's aggressive, she's a liar, she's a this, she's a that. Because I don't think that, I didn't even see it in the moment. I was just like, what is going on? I always end up getting blindsided by the situation. But at the same time, with Tisha, I had already had the experience. With Tisha, I had already had the experience. So I kind of was like, is this what I felt?
It felt familiar.
Correct.
With your previous relationship.
Correct.
Friendship. Correct.
And for me, and I always say this, all of my friends, my 30-year, my 20-year friendships, my 15-year friendships, they're all beautiful, successful, paid women. We pull up and everybody got a foreign. And I know that there was a narrative created that somebody took care of me and gave me all this money. Well, that's not even the case.
Not even actually accurate. There was nothing that was given that wasn't reciprocated. And we were talking about monetarily. And then why the hell would I need a woman to give me $ 6, 000 when I got a whole daddy? God rest his soul. And I thought that in those moments of me giving, them giving, that it was like a reciprocal thing.
But it was a.
I'm going to use this later. Because I just saw Tisha do an interview. All the things that I poured into you, we did for you. And you're insinuating because people take, I realize there's a playbook when it comes to Destiny. It's like, oh, she's a liar. Oh, I gave to her when she was broke or she's broke or she's aggressive. It's a playbook that was written before the Scots used it. It was written by my previous cast member. And it worked for a certain amount of time.
It worked for me to be not believed when I said anything. It worked for people to think that I was needy. It worked for people to think that I was broke. When I care for an infant child by myself with a nanny, with a 4,000 square foot home, with a beautiful Mercedes, a soccer mom car. Now, I did hide it a couple months because, you know, I had to pay other bills, but that's me being transparent.
It was in the garage. But I'm just saying, I've always been honest about what I go through and what I've been through because everybody can relate. Who can't relate to that? Did you ever hide a car?
No.
Look, look, look, look. No, no.
But you being from Detroit, you'll get this. I would hide from catching the bus. Ah. Because you know Detroit is a motor city. So the idea of being in your 20s.
Without a car.
Without a car in Detroit.
And you worked at a radio station then.
Yeah.
Because you know that I found out. We used to be in parties together in Detroit. And I didn't even know. My cousin reminded me. She was like, you don't know Dorian? He worked at the radio station. You remember Carlos? And I'm like. She's like, we went up there. And I was like, I don't.
Is that crazy?
And Ellis used to throw the parties.
Oh my gosh, yes.
And she was like, Carlos was there? I was like, what?
Look at that.
No, look how God is.
Yes.
Listen.
You know what I'm saying?
No.
So I know what that feels like in terms of having to not be at your best place and you're embarrassed.
But I'm like you.
And I wasn't embarrassed. My thing is, when I came to Love and Marriage Huntsville- I was making so much money in the career that I was in. Nella tell you, she was like, well, shit, you going to marry this man and leave that money?
I wouldn't do it if I was you.
This is for real. She said this to me because I did well. I did well. Before I came on the show, I actually gave up everything to start a business, to be married, to become a mom and all the things. And then COVID hit, divorce hit. I had a baby during COVID, during a divorce. My dad got sick. All these things happen, like I said, in a 24 month span.
And I'm trying to figure it out in the process. And was I broke? Yeah, but it wasn't your type of broke. I mean, I still was paying mortgages and car notes and nannies and things like that. But did I have it to be like flexing?
No.
And I was honest about that. I was real honest about that. But I'm from Detroit. The home of the hustlers. We're going to always figure it out.
We're going to be good. God willing, God gets all the credit.
Absolutely. But that's the other reason we all grew up also knowing that God.
Is our ruler.
Period. I wouldn't have made it through that season of life. If people go back, and I still do it now, I only hashtag but God because I didn't have any other words.
Mm-hmm.
I didn't have any other words. Like every day I was making it and being able to get up and move forward and be a mom and go through postpartum and go through a divorce and go through all the things that I went through because what God? That's just real. Yeah.
When it comes to you and Tisha now, what we're going to see this season is the two of you tried to get back to a decent place.
Agree to disagree.
Is it safe to say that....
Will things ever be the same between you and Tisha?
I don't think so.
No.
And I was very definitive about a previous relationship. It's certain things that you see and that you go through that I don't think you can come back from. And the thing that I call this reality world, a social experiment, the only people that I didn't have to build a real relationship with inside of the experiment was Martel and Nell.
It's only two people. I knew Marcel since I was 15 and I met Nell through the holds, but it was prior to her really being a cast member. And we kind of built, and I didn't even realize it until I kind of talked through it in therapy, was that the foundations were built outside of this. And sometimes when it's lights, camera, action, you get what you get.
And you got to be prepared for that. People turn and the drop of a dime.
Do you think the Scots have turned on you at the drop of a dime for a storyline that or to keep you at bay to be a non-main cast member?
I think both of those things are true. And I wouldn't say all the Scots, but I would say the ones that I've had the experiences with absolutely felt like there's an unwritten hierarchy when you come on this show. And the core six make sure they let you know it. The core no more, I'm sorry. They make sure to let you know that you're a plus one and kiss the ring. And I ain't never kissed nothing that I ain't want to kiss. And I ain't going to.
When you say that, because obviously it's fascinating because this is my show.
I created it.
So when you say that, and in your defense, I have heard that before. In your defense, I have heard that.
What does that look like, though? Is it verbatim?
Oh, no, it's not verbatim. It's like, look how you're talking to me. And I'm like, well, I'm just expressing how I feel. Well, shut your yap. And it's like, you don't deserve to be here. And oh, bitch. And oh, well, Destiny, you're not a real friend. It's all these things that kind of put you in this box. It's like, what the hell are you talking about? Like, we're all adults having conversations and hard conversations and dealing with hard stuff.
It's also at the reunion. Hey, everybody, come take a picture with Carlos. Not you extras.
Damn, Destiny. Why am I in it?
I'm just saying. Am I lying? Blink twice. Am I lying? That's all I want to know.
I may.
Open your eyes when you cry. .
Or Lynn look like you?
I know. Lynn's my twin, apparently.
Apparently. He a little bit more saucy than you, salt and pepper than you, but.
Probably not die if I should.
I thought we took the Beijing King from you.
From the top to the bottom. Damn, I got to stick this over, man.
Pause.
No, I will say this, because the beauty of this being my platform, I can obviously be honest because I am honest.
It's my shit.
Period.
I definitely have heard that.
I definitely have been privy to when it's time to take pictures.
I definitely 100% have heard.
Okay.
Just the- Cord no more.
Just the cord.
It's different sectors.
And it's disrespectful because it wouldn't be a show without an ensemble.
100%.
Listen, I've always said this. I'm the king of this shit. So when I say this shit, I mean it. And this is me doing Atlanta Housewives first season. Like the biggest black female ensemble show.
In the world.
To date.
To date.
So I know what I'm talking about. And then I created the second.
It's, you know.
My point is this. What I will say is In ensemble shows, yes, there are breakout stars. Just like it's breakout stars in girl groups in the music business. It's breakout stars in the NBA. It's breakout stars in any group situation.
It's bound to happen.
Group projects in high school. You know what I'm saying? It's a cheerleading team. We're not going to act like this is something new. So in an ensemble TV show, obviously, scripted, unscripted.
There's a breakout star.
However, in my Kimmy voice, it doesn't mean that that one person is the sole reason the show is successful. What that means is this one person has generated a lot of conversation and it's fruitful for the ensemble. But you can remove that one person or that person can remove themselves from it And.
The shit still moves.
The show still goes on.
The show still goes on and it has been proven over. Again, I'm not talking about this show.
Every show.
And every group. It goes on and on and on. So my point is, I have heard that. I've also heard things that, you know, someone may have said. allegedly, because I wasn't there, but I've heard this from multiple people. This my shit. I'm the star of the show.
Oh, yeah. You know.
Yeah, that's on lives if you can find it.
Anyways.
This my shit. You don't come in my shit. This my shit. Like, oh, wow.
I have heard that.
And the one thing I always say is, and I'm going to say this to you, and that's why I appreciate it at the top of this interview when you said, like, look, you know, um, It's nice to receive the love from the fans today, but when you live for.
The applause, you die by the booze, because it's true.
And I'm so happy you said that, because as a producer, what I will say, and this is the first time that I'm saying this publicly, one thing producers, it's the saddest day for us, is when a cast member says, I'm the star of the show, and this is my shit. And the reason why it's a sad day for.
Us is because we know It's a demise after that.
You will never be the same. You will never be the same. You just won't.
And you can be confident and you can.
All those things, but when you say those things, it's only downhill from there because you have created this false sense of reality.
Because you're bigger than the program.
Yes, and it's sad.
And I literally have experienced that throughout my entire career where... The moment I hear it, something dies within the production in terms of.
And within that person. Because that's... You're actually conforming to ego.
I don't like that.
And I've told all my cast members, like, look, I'm all for y'all jonesing on each other.
I like that.
But I know how that must feel. And that's why I do want to acknowledge your feelings... And I want you to be aware that I have definitely have said, like, I don't want my show to ever exhibit that.
If I'm able to control it.
To a certain extent, because you're dealing with grown people who have egos, who have moments. And that's one of the things that I have, I've witnessed people, like, be on the, I call it the line of darkness. They teeter-totter on the... I'm, and it's like, where's God at in that? Where's God at in you being this big person?
Because you wouldn't be this light if you didn't have God. And when you start removing God and working an ego, nothing but darkness comes from that. And you see it and you see people fall and fall hard because of that. And that's when people say, oh, well, Destiny, you're the, no, I'm just me.
Yeah.
I'm just me.
Yeah.
And I'm grateful for the opportunity and I'm appreciative of the opportunity and, I'm just going to keep being authentically myself, good, bad, or indifferent.
Well, we are seeing that this season because Martel's girlfriend, Arianne, is on the show this season.
And we have.
Seen that there seems to be some energy that.
She has with you. Yeah.
There seems to be this issue that she has with you being Martell's best friend and how uncomfortable she is with that.
Best friend?
This best friend thing is crazy work.
What do you make of this?
What I made of it because it was new to me on camera. I didn't experience it off camera. What I made of it is I've finally been chosen. I've been brought out of the dark and I'm going to say how I feel. Because I felt this way in the dark. In the shadows. No pun intended. Pun intended. I feel like what everybody kind of says is there will always be, regardless of who it is, that insecurity because of how you move with him while he was married.
So you can always feel that way. It can be the under trash lady. It ain't gotta be me. But I think that what makes it worse is that now we go through a rough patch, a real, real rough patch this season and he martells for sure. But I think that we have a genuine friendship and a genuine love for each other that she doesn't understand because it wasn't built off of none of the stuff they got going on. It was built off genuine friendship, knowing each other for a long time, experiencing life And then coming back as friends. And I think that is, that can be intimidating to someone. And I don't take that away from her at all. But I don't know how to, I didn't understand it because it was new to me.
Let me just say that. Because I've invited this woman into, not even invited because he brought her, let me be real clear. I'm like, oh, I didn't know she was going to be here. But I digress. This is your son's mother. This is the title that I was given. And so in this space with her being present on the show, it's been hard. I'm not going to hold you.
It's been hard because I'm a person that I can't deal with situations that take me too much out of character because I like to fight. I mean, I'm just saying. Why are you laughing?
Because I know you're being honest. I am.
And I was like, you know, I can't be in these spaces because I will fight. And I'm like, this is not good. This is not good for me. It's not good for my brand. It's not good for just any of this stuff. And I got a lot of stuff to lose. And I have to be smarter. But some levels of low I don't experience because I don't put myself in spaces with people that would go that low. Hmm.
And so when I was triggered, I'm like, Oh Lord, I'm like, I don't even have no words. Make your head blow off. So yeah, it's been a, it's been an interesting season to say the least, but I'm gonna get, I'm gonna get drugged for this cause I always find the why. And people, like even with Tisha, I understood her why, behind what was going on with us. She just took it too far. I understand the why where Martell and I are in this space right now. But sometimes people take it too far.
And.
I feel like in the space that he's in and he's trying to make the situation work because I feel like it's like a guilt thing. Like I lost my family and I got this beautiful son now and I got to make this work. But it's... Some people operate in their worst spaces with people that they shouldn't be with.
Do you think Arianne brings out the worst in Martel?
100.
Okay.
Because a real woman will pull him back from his antics because Martel going Martel if you let him. She feeds it. And it looks like, oh, Bonnie and Clyde, but it's like, this is not good for you overall, period. And that's just my opinion. I can't tell him what to do with his life or who to be with, but if I'm looking at it from the outside, and I would want a friend to say the same thing to me. Now, he didn't ask. When he asked, I did tell him how I felt. Like I would want a friend to do to me, you know?
You recently saw.
Kimmy and Tisha sit with Arianne. You know, this was a woman who accused her husband of sleeping with linebackers, you know, interviewed Marcel's alleged mistress, and has been involved.
And I got on to Martell about that, by the way, since y'all think I don't hold him accountable. I'm the only one that does, but I digress.
What did you think of that scene between Tisha, Kimmy, and Arianne?
It was another Twilight Zone scene because what the, what are we doing? What do you mean you're a clean slate? Because you still mad at me because I said your husband didn't protect you. You still mad at me? It's almost two years later, a year and a half at least. But you sit down with a woman that said that your husband was in every hole that she had. And you're like, well, I'm going to let bygones be bygones.
And we're going to start with a clean slate.
What?
What in a twilight zone are we experiencing right now? I think the scene, I wish they had the same energy they have for me as they have for her. Because again, there's a hierarchy that I stepped in. This lady stepped into the hierarchy and she didn't have any of the experiences that I had.
Why is that?
Skrrt.
Who's scared? Skrrt. Who's skrrt?
Well, I don't... And this is what I said to Tisha. I said, don't be letting this lady come in here and make you scared or whatever. I said, let that man cheat in peace.
Let who cheat in peace?
Whoever.
Tisha's man?
I said, tell that lady to let your man cheat in peace.
You told Tisha... to your man should cheat in peace.
No, I didn't say he should. I said take their power away.
Okay.
If people are saying this, this is me being a friend. This is some real shit right here. Tell them, I don't care what you got. Let my man cheat in peace and leave me the hell alone. Don't be sitting around here cowering. And the craziest part about the scene, let's be, okay, let's scratch that out at the end of the interview because this is the shit that really matter.
You sat up there and kiki with this girl and talked about me Y'all were damn near forming an alliance to take DP out. It'd be a cold day in hell that a bird would be able to take me out with anybody.
You don't like women?
Leave me alone, Destiny!
Damn!
Leave me alone. That's my sentiment exactly. I've said that all season long. I said it last season. Leave me alone. No, no. As the old folks say, let alone. Let alone.
I always play Michael Jackson's song, Leave Me Alone.
I just be like, leave me alone.
I don't bother anybody. When people bring me the smoke, I let them blow it in my face a few times. And then it's like, listen, motherfucker.
Hey.
And then it's like, oh, she's crazy. Because I've taken... I'm a Taurus. We take it and we take it and we take it. Watch a bull in their natural habitat.
They're docile.
They don't bother nobody. They graze. But when you start waving that red flag and poking and poking, when a bull go, they go. So just leave me alone. Leave me. Let alone.
Let alone.
You didn't appreciate when you heard Ariana and Tisha talk about you and the Martell friendship and your character.
You don't like that.
I was elated about it, Carlos. I thought it was a great scene. I thought they were being very authentic. I thought they were very welcoming to her. I could see them forming a real friendship.
Social media has said that the reason why they believe Kimmy and Tisha did not even go as hard on Ariana for addressing the issues.
That she has.
The allegation, excuse me, that she has alleged against their husbands is because they did not want the truth to come out on camera. Somebody said that when Marcel encouraged Tisha to give Ariana a chance, it was to lessen the blow in terms of what she may know.
Do you agree with that?
I wasn't there. I can't say what Marcel was doing or why he was doing it. But what I can say is the energy was real different when I made statements like, hey, stop saying I don't protect you in rooms because your husband don't protect you. He turned into, why would you listen to her? She's, look at the source.
Look at her. She can't keep a husband and has run through men like crazy. That was the response that he got. But with her, it's like, oh no, she gets to know her for who she is. Get to know her. So you decide.
There is a moment where you and Arianne almost come face to face in a way that was.
Emotionally... I.
Like that verbiage.
Thank you so much, you know.
I'm a real journalist.
That Detroit high school education.
Hey, journalist.
No. You know, you....
Listen, I said this on my live show. I mean, it's... Wow, right?
But there's another wild moment that comes later in the season, apparently. But this moment I'm talking about is, you know, you... Tell Arion that, look, you're very tolerable. You tolerated being called a peasant. You tolerated Sheree. You tolerated his ex-wife. You know this is what you do. And she made a comment saying that something about your son not getting into the school and you lost it and had to be held back. What was it about that moment where you felt like, oh my God, the Detroit Destiny is about to let.
Go and let have?
Don't ever bring my child into an adult conversation, disagreement, or anything. He has no place in it. Nobody's child does. Period. I don't play by mine. And... she was losing the argument and her grasp was something about my kid and she was about to try to make it negative and derogatory. And I just blacked out because my son had no place in anything, period. The thing that I have always felt like held me back from saying a lot of things is because I know all these people's children And I love all their children. And I protect all their children.
I even go at bloggers like, hey, that know me or like me. Hey, don't talk about the kids. Leave the kids out of it. That is a level of low that is just, it's beyond hell. Like, leave these babies out of it. They didn't ask to be here. They don't have nothing to do with it.
Yeah.
I'm still healing. Like I've been doing a lot of work, but my kid, I just, I've never been in spaces with other people that will bring up my child. And so that just took me completely like, Hey, I'm ready.
Yeah.
I got some work to do.
No, I mean, in all fairness, listen, like I said, my experience in reality television, the women have always said from all the shows I've.
Done, it's been two deal breakers. Let's not break up children.
And let's not shame each other's businesses.
Bitch, talk about me, my face, my body, whatever. Like, let's go. But my husband even, I don't give a shit, right? Don't break up my children. and try not to.
Like, talk to me about my business.
That's how I feed my children.
That's how we really make our money for real, for real, for real on these shows. So, like, let's not go there with each other because there's other shit we can talk about and that has been a peg that I've seen. So, I think, respectfully, I understand how It can take you out of like, okay, you're going to a place that you may not know.
I will go there with you. Cameras or no cameras.
Period.
Yeah.
And this is my first season even showing Law again.
Yes.
Because I shielded him for a long time because I'm like, let me get myself together. Let me find my footing in this space. Because he was newborn when I showed him on television. He's six now. And my baby ain't going to never not see me take up for him. I'm taking your head off every time. But I got to work on that because people know that's my trigger because you brought somebody on the season before to try to talk about my kid. And that was a no go.
And I said that at the reunion, that's a no go. And it's still a no go. But I got to work on that. That's something I have to work on.
I'm trying to think. Nobody.
What I'm just saying in general.
Yes. Okay. All right.
Um, I'm just saying.
We really had a wrong conversation. I'm getting lost in the conversation. Okay.
Listen.
The public have had a very expected emotional reaction to Arianne being on the show. I knew what was coming the moment me and the network decided to be like, okay, we're really doing this. Um.
The backlash has- I bet that was a hard decision.
You said what?
I bet that was a hard decision.
Well, it was a hard decision.
When you learned Arianne was joining the show, how did you feel about that?
For transparency, Martella and I talked about it for years and how that would be and what it would look like and all the things. I was shocked to learn that it would be in this capacity- And as much as it's been, because I know they were actually co-parenting and like, I don't know if he was trying to figure it out. He was in and out, in and out, in and out. So I wasn't really shocked, but I was shocked by her having an issue with me. That's what shocked me.
Yes, yes, yes.
Without giving too much away. By the way, this is an incredible season. This season, I will go down, listen, I will say this on the record.
I will say this.
This is the most unpredictable season of Love and Match Huntsville in the history of the show. It's, it's, it's, it's, you know how like the past season, we kind of like knew, even when things were at its height, like, We kind of knew how it would.
End because it had to end.
Some situations had to just end. Some of them didn't. It just went on and on and on. You know? And on and on.
And on and on. This one is so unpredictable.
Mm-hmm.
It's... I'm... I get giddy.
When I get an email from my team saying, here's the latest episode for you to look at.
And I'm like... I feel like a Ken McKinnon story.
Like, I get to, like, look at these episodes before the world does.
Mm-hmm.
And it's an incredible season. Without giving too much away, tell the raindrop what's to come.
I know. Right? No destiny. Can I say something? I'm going to give them a little teaser. Okay. There's a scene.
That was set up by the Fletchers.
For you and Martel to talk.
Okay.
Oh, yeah.
It is 15 minutes. It's a two-parter. 15 minutes?
That's half the episode.
I know. And we have to carry it to a future episode. Come back and watch this interview.
It's the most fascinating conversation. I want to give the raindrops one thing he said.
Oh, shit.
That made me holler. The way you yell at Martel. Would y'all ball hit your ass? Shit.
I'm literally in my Uber going to the gym. It's such a privilege to watch these episodes. I'll be like, I'm watching my phone. I got my pre-workout drink and I'm watching it. My Uber driver knows no idea who I am. And I am gagging. And when you said that I screamed, he stopped and said, you okay? I said, I'm watching TV. But.
Yeah.
By the way, you looked amazing in that scene.
Oh, well, thank you.
The lighting was good. The hair was good.
It was like a little half pony.
Uh-huh, uh-huh.
That was a mess. That was a very, very interesting, a very interesting day turning to evening. Because he martell for a long time before he got the bald-headed statement. So I'm very patient.
You were. You actually were. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
I was very patient, but I was just like, you ball. I don't know what I said. I really don't, because I was in the moment.
That part just stayed with me, but I will say, this is.
An incredible season. It really is. I need a raise.
Ah!
And we're not like those other girls. I just want to say, I don't know what they getting paid, but baby, that ain't what we get paid. I don't know what that standard is they trying to put on you, baby, because it ain't the same.
No.
We are not the same.
I know.
We are not the same.
Of course, anything that's positive, I don't get no credit because he takes credit for everything.
Listen, we are not the same. I promise you.
I'm going to move on.
Okay.
If that's even a thing.
Okay. Are you dating anybody right now?

I love that. I love that. I love that. I'm working on new music with Q Parker. Dennis McKinney is actually coming in as well. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Another Detroit art?
Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.
Yes.
And then I did EP a independent film. So I am working and I wrote some grief journals because I feel like it's necessary for me to put my healing in a space that can help heal others. So I have a Madani Grief Journal that showcases you or helps you navigate before, after, in the middle, all the things.
And also I'm doing a grief retreat. So everybody that's dealing with grief or past it, because I've talked to people like I'm angry and they feel these, you know, different emotions. And I wanted to bring people into a space where they can actually vacay. They can actually talk to someone. They can actually heal.
And.
That's some of the things that I'm working on. Law has his own series of books, Law the Lawyer. He also has a cartoon that's going to be available soon to watch. So I'm just staying busy. I'm just like feeding into my creative side has ignited even more now that my energy is not going to caretake as much because my father has transitioned, who was the love of my life, my everything. And I'm using my.
Creativity and turning my pain into purpose and as far as I see how I segway from your question I know I know it's okay but I will say this Destiny ain't never had a shortage of of course well people be like oh this single woman is dating all these people that's what I'm supposed to do I'm not supposed to date while I'm married like some people well I'm just saying.
So Okay, Love and Marriage Huntsville, every Saturday, 8 o'clock, 7 central, on the Oprah Roofing Network. I want to say this to you give me your hand your father's very proud of you listen I tell the world all the time daughters are the greatest gifts for dads besides their wives and I know all the work you've done to take care of that man and he is looking down on you he's proud of you And as somebody who lost a parent myself, and I said this to you personally, I'll say it publicly, you have a permanent guardian angel who's going to watch over you. And you're going to see so many blessings unfold because, you know, I always tell people a deceased parent is now having the opportunity to work alongside God.
You know what I'm saying? And it's a beautiful thing.
You know, I told him that when he didn't want to let go, he was fighting. And I had to whisper to him, I said, let go. Yeah. Like, oh, you can do so much more for me in the spirit world.
Him and my godmother. And your godmother, yes. Yes.
And you'll see it. You'll see it. You will absolutely see it.
And on top of that, you are an incredible, incredible addition.
To this show.
Thank you.
And the many people told me to fire you to get rid of you.
Including Kimmy. No, the comments, you crazy girl.
Love you, girl.
Be a saint.
All I'm saying is, and it's funny, I'm going to say this until I've never said this to you before.
And I'm going to end on this.
I had somebody ask me when we did our Zoom interview when that was the season that you decided to leave. And I cleared the air that you did not get fired because she did not get fired. And I had a friend of mine ask like, you like Destiny. I said, I love me some Destiny.
Why?
And I said, she has the I and the T. And I said, I believe in her. I said, I really do believe in her. And I said, I hope that one day the world gets to see the destiny that I met years ago. And I'm happy to say, I feel like it's happening.
Hmm. I do feel like it's happening. So congratulations.
Thank you, Lois.
Continue to be you. And keep your hands to yourself.
I have been.
I'm praying.
I'm putting my hands together and I'm going to pray.
Amen.
